"I imagine that ‘some things are deeper than skin’ is the line they wanted to get out of it. (For me that fell flat and overall I think once again Rogue drew the short straw just to accommodate her relationship with Remy but that’s a different conversation all together)."
Okay, here i was reading this ask in the tag and saw this. Now you've piqued my interest. When you've got the time i'd love to know your thoughts on this. 😯
hey there traveler! 🌠 I said that? Oops, might have thought that one out-loud. Silly me. 😶 Well, we’re here now so we might as well drive this one home. 'Some things are deeper than skin' was a shallow take on the situation for the trio, imo. It felt like a sticker placed on top of a damaged car. Some things are definitely deeper than skin. So are Rogue's feelings for Erik. So is what her time with him inspired in her. For someone who was a terrorist, who presented drastic solutions to the world, not once did he try to push that onto Rogue. On the contrary, it was made clear that, in the time they spent together in TAS, he taught her to see her powers not as a curse but as an essential part of who she is. He spoke to her about what it really means to embrace her identity, about building a future that makes her feel proud of who she is, about her powers creating a sense of belonging instead of discomfort, shame, and alienation. His presence in her life taught her not to fear who she is, not to put limits on what she can do, it taught her to be a part of the world she wants to see herself living in. THAT is why she fell in love with him. That is the Erik that Rogue loves. The whole 'touch' only came in later. We already see her falling in love with him before they even considered the possibility of touching. I love Gambit with all my heart, but in that scene he didn't consider a single thing of what Rogue had to say about why she wanted to be part of Genosha's future. He literally went ahead and did the opposite of what Erik had done - he made Rogue revert into herself and feel the pain of her inability to touch for the sole purpose of romantic and sexual gain. That line was ultimately used to show that Remy was in the right, to frame him as the one that's been hurt, with close to no consideration for Rogue and what she wanted from life. He says 'some things are deeper than skin' and it feels off coming from him, someone who has the privilege of sharing a connection based on touch with others. It makes Remy come across as not listening to what's being said. And I know his words in that interaction can be read as romantic in the sense of 'we can overcome anything'. It's a valid interpretation, but it doesn't work for me. I'd rather two partners try and understand each other and listen to each other than dismiss it with a 'we'll find a way'. Especially when one of them is deeply affected by it. It just isn't my jam. So having Rogue echo the 'some things are deeper than skin' fell flat because it only addressed part of the reason why her and Erik shared something. I think there is love in Rogue for both men and, unlike Magneto, Gambit is just not willing to accept it. It has to be him and only him. All this when he's had a lifetime prior to Rogue of experiencing intimacy, touch and relationships and understanding what he wants and what he values. In this instance it just feels like he's indirectly manipulating Rogue's emotions, making her sink into guilt and self-doubt (very important to note here that he's not doing it on purpose, but as an instinctive reaction to his own emotions - because this speaks both of his qualities and his flaws). So when Rogue says ‘Remy was right, some things are deeper than skin’ I think that is her guilt and insecurity talking.
I grew up with ROMY as my OTP but then, in time, that flame died and my view of the ship shifted. Part of the reason is because I started seeing a pattern in their relationship where often times Rogue would end up being the one pulled down, having to accommodate, accept and even apologize for things. And I was just not vibing with it anymore.

5, 10, 26?
5.) Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
So my first thought is no and I think that's how I usually answer this. But it may actually be a bit more complicated in a 'no but yes' sort of way.
So. Oliver/Felicity was not the original plan for the Arrow. Felicity wasn't even supposed to be a main character. She wasn't even supposed to be there beyond that one episode she first showed up in. But the actress made such an impression on the cast, show runners, and the audience that she became more important. And while a lot of people - including myself - assumed she was an original character for the show, it turns out she was supposed to be just another comics cameo shout out to a character not even Green Arrow comics adjacent. Apparently comics Felicity Smoak was Ronnie Raymond's antagonist and step mom.
O_o The more you know, huh?
Anywho, presumably the original plan for the show was Oliver/Laurel endgame. Like in the comics, where Dinah/Oliver - with Laurel being Dinah Laurel Lance, after all - being Oliver's partner both in vigilantism and romance. It... obviously didn't go that way with Laurel being brutally and unnecessarily killed off for shock value in S4. And that may have happened in part because of the popularity of the Olicity ship.
Backtracking a bit here, but Felicity's actress and Oliver's actor had great onscreen chemistry from day one. I can understand why the show runners chose to pivot to this ship, given that chemistry and the sheer popularity of the ship with the fans.
Oliver/Felicity pretty quickly became the most popular ship for the fandom and it still is. Not even Oliver/Barry - the second most tagged ship for the fandom over on Ao3 - has even a quarter of the fics that Olicity has. 12,600+ fics as of this moment and no doubt it'll continue to steadily go up. (for comparison, Olivarry has 1,600+ fics tagged)
Honestly, I shipped Felicity/Oliver pretty quickly while watching S1 too. I liked their dynamic, that she was the sunshine to Oliver's grumpy, she was willing to call him out even when he still scared her, and she - at the time, anyway - was willing to respect that she wasn't entitled to his secrets.
But time marched on. The show began to flanderize the characters to some degree even as they fleshed them out in others. Felicity lost her willingness to respect Oliver's boundaries, Oliver proved incapable of keeping character development from one season to the next... and as Felicity/Oliver moved from interesting chemistry to ship tease to official couple, they began to bring out the worst parts of each other. And my enjoyment that they were finally together soured.
How much of them being the official couple was because of the show runners picking up on the actors chemistry independently of the fans and how much was them seeing how much the fans wanted it so why not... we'll probably never really know for sure. But I suspect that fandom's shipping of the characters in the early days before Oliver/Laurel had a chance to truly be cemented was what both contributed to them being the official couple and thus killing my enjoyment of the ship.
(I suspect that Laurel/Oliver were meant to follow the path that Iris/Barry eventually did. Both Laurel and Iris were dating someone else in S1, a someone else who died in the finale after a reveal that they were related to the main villain in some way. In S2 Iris and Laurel are both learning to move on and find themselves without that relationship. But in S3 of the Flash, Iris and Barry finally hook up, but Laurel begins her vigilante arc in S3 that puts her at odds with Oliver while Felicity gets a love triangle with Oliver and Ray where Ray 'dies' at the end of the season... a little familiar sounding am I right?)
So fandom did not directly ruin the Olicity ship for me, but there is an argument to be made that it did so indirectly. So no... but also yes.
10.) Most disliked arc? Why?
It's so hard to choose because, sadly, there are so many.
It could be Mark Blaine trying to kill Khione to get Frost back, throwing a hissy fit when he's told no, and then creeping on Khione like she's Frost's replacement goldfish.
It could be the promise that S6 would give us an important Iris plot that turned out to being Iris side lined in the mirror world, stuck there while the real plot was going on else where, being forced to watch a duplicate most likely rape her husband, be about to break out of the mirror world herself only to be immediately turned into a damsel for Barry to rescue, and the creepy way she doesn't speak at all between waking up after the 'rescue' and going to kickstart the modified ASF to wake the original Speed Force back up... (Okay, yeah, this is probably arc I hate the most but...)
It could be how we were promised an important plot line for Cisco in S7 before he left the show and got what looked like the show runners forgetting about that until the last minute, giving us what could have been a fun episode if it were not completely ruined by Cisco's massively out of character decision to tell his besties he's leaving for ARGUS at the last minute. After making Cisco the one who stays at STAR Labs in the bad Savitar future and showing again and again how important his friendships are to him... to have him treat his friends like that was kinda shitty, tbh. Hell, most people treat bosses and coworkers they dislike better by giving the optional two weeks notice.
Armageddon. I think I've complained about that enough that my reasons for hating it are well known by now.
26.) Most shippable character?
Oh this is so hard to pick. I'm a multi-shipper so all the characters are imminently shippable to me, whether it's romantic, a QPP, or close friendships.
But if I try to narrow it down, it's either Cisco, Barry, or Hartley. I've written the most for a search on Cisco Ramon/* of my works, but Barry's a close second when I do Barry Allen/* but I think Hartley's got the most crossover ships that I ship regardless of whether I've written for it or not, such as Tommy/Hartley, Rip/Hartley, Ray/Hartley, etc. (Mick started on the Flash but he's primarily a Legends character. Does he count as a crossover ship? Yes but also no. And no but yes.)
Though of the ladies, I think Iris is probably the most shippable to me though Caitlin is a close second despite my arospec headcanons for her. Iris has a lot of chemistry with a lot of characters and while the number of romantic ships I enjoy for Caitlin is narrower, I'm more likely to contemplate different types of ships for her such as QPPs.

2023 SEO Trends: Strategies for Success in the Evolving Digital Landscape
In the fast-paced world of digital marketing, staying ahead of the curve is essential. As we enter 2023, the digital landscape continues to evolve, and so do the strategies required for search engine optimization (SEO). To ensure your online presence remains robust and competitive, it's crucial to adapt to the latest SEO trends. In this article, we'll explore the key SEO trends for 2023 and provide strategies for success in this dynamic environment.
1. Voice Search Optimization
Voice search is on the rise, thanks to the increasing popularity of virtual assistants like Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant. To optimize for voice search, focus on long-tail keywords, natural language queries, and providing concise, direct answers to common questions. Structured data markup can also enhance your chances of being featured in voice search results.
2. Mobile-First Indexing
Mobile devices continue to dominate internet usage. Google's mobile-first indexing means that your website's mobile version is now the primary source for ranking and indexing. Ensure your site is responsive, loads quickly on mobile, and offers a seamless user experience across all devices.
3. E-A-T and Content Quality
Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (E-A-T) have been vital ranking factors, and they remain crucial in 2023. Invest in high-quality, authoritative content that demonstrates your expertise and trustworthiness in your niche. Showcase your team's credentials, and consider including expert opinions and testimonials to boost E-A-T.
4. User Experience (UX) Matters
Google's Page Experience update has put a strong emphasis on user experience. Core Web Vitals, including page speed, interactivity, and visual stability, are now key ranking factors. Optimize your website's performance to ensure a smooth and enjoyable user experience.
5. Video and Visual Search
Visual content, including videos and images, is becoming more prominent in search results. Invest in video content and optimize it for search engines. Additionally, explore visual search optimization by using descriptive file names and alt tags for images.
6. AI and Machine Learning
AI-powered tools and machine learning algorithms are transforming SEO. They can analyze vast amounts of data to uncover insights and patterns, helping you refine your SEO strategies. Embrace AI-driven SEO tools for keyword research, content optimization, and data analysis.
7. Local SEO and Google My Business
Local SEO remains vital for businesses with physical locations. Optimize your Google My Business listing, encourage customer reviews, and ensure your business information is accurate and consistent across online directories. With the rise in "near me" searches, local SEO is a goldmine for attracting local customers.
8. Content Clusters and Topic Authority
Rather than focusing on individual keywords, create content clusters around broad topics. This approach builds topic authority and improves your chances of ranking for related keywords. Interlink your content within these clusters to provide a comprehensive user experience.
9. Secure and Mobile-Responsive Websites
A secure website with an SSL certificate (HTTPS) is not just a best practice; it's a ranking factor. Additionally, a mobile-responsive design is essential for SEO success, as mobile devices continue to dominate internet usage.
youtube
10. Social Signals and Engagement
While not a direct ranking factor, social signals and engagement indirectly impact SEO. Active social media profiles and content sharing can increase your online visibility and drive traffic to your website. Engage with your audience on social platforms to build a loyal following.
In conclusion, SEO in 2023 requires adaptability and a holistic approach. Embrace these trends and strategies to thrive in the evolving digital landscape. Remember that SEO is an ongoing process, and staying informed about the latest developments is key to maintaining a strong online presence.

Do You Know the Muffin Man?
A/N: I love domestic stuff. Join the boys as they do cute things :). I will return with the og chapters i swear i just have so many side ideas. This may just be my personal favourite. I hope you enjoy :)
Tagging @happyandticklish and @veryblushyswitch who helped me indirectly with their HCs. And @magic-125 for inspiring the fic after showing me their baking skills.
Word Count: ~1700
"Who puts raisins in a muffin? That's a bloody crime!" Charlie exclaimed, his face contorted with disgust.
"Have you lost your mind!? They're the best thing since sliced bread" Tao snapped back.
It was a late Friday night, the gang was currently on a video call.
"Come on Nick, back me up on this one"
Nick was resting his head on Charlie's lap being lulled to sleep by Charlie's hand softly running through his hair. He let out a sleepy mumble.
"Wow. You guys are so boring that you made Nick fall asleep" Elle chirped, rolling her eyes playfully.
"Because he's a simpleton, what would a rugby lad know about muffin making?"
"Hey- my rugby lad knows plenty about muffin making"
Tao scoffs.
"Oh puh-lease. Baking competition. We'll be in teams-"
"We, meaning you four, I'm hanging out with my nan today, byeee" with that Isaac hurriedly hung up. He knew perfectly well he was not hanging out with his nan; although he made a mental note to pay a visit to the cemetery later.
"Well that settles it, me and Elle against you and rugby boy over there"
"I don't recall agreeing to this- Besides, Tao do you even know how to make muffins" Elle said.
"Do you know the muffin man? Yeah that's what I thought"
Cue another eye roll from Elle.
"Good luck Spring, you're gonna need it, Elle come to my place in 5, bring your best muffin making attitude"
Click. The call ended and the sound of Nick's soft snoring filled Charlie's room. Now Charlie wasn't the most competitive person, but there was no way he was planning on losing.
"Nicholas"
A sleepy grumble that sounded like "5 more minutes".
Charlie rolled his eyes and let out an exasperated sigh. He decided that the best idea was to call his mom, she had to have a good muffin recipe. Even though it was a girls night for her, he was sure she wouldn't mind the interruption.
"Hi mum, this is super important"
His mom told him about the recipe and Charlie was left frantically searching for a pen and paper to write it down. A pen he managed to get without disturbing the sleeping boy in his lap. In his panic, Charlie lifted up Nick's hoodie, revealing the bare skin and began scribbling away.
"2 and a half cups of flour… 150 mils of milk…" Charlie spoke to himself, repeating the recipe.
Unfortunately the pen writing on Nick's back proved to be a slightly bad idea. Nick slowly started waking up with panicked giggles.
"Chahar- cHAHARLIE- I'm UP. I'M UP-"
"Lovely, now shh- no not you mum. Yes Nick is okay-"
Nick flipped himself over much to Charlie's dismay who was halfway through the recipe. Nick didn't know where Charlie got the strength of nine gorillas on steroids, but the nerd managed to pin Nick with his legs. He used one hand to cover Nick's mouth while the other continued writing the rest of the recipe on Nick's tummy. Nick practically screamed into Charlie's hand as he writhed beneath the boy.
"Okay thanks mum, bye-. Love you too- m'kay bye-"
Charlie swiftly got off of Nick and pulled him to the kitchen.
"So all of that happened when I was asleep"
"Yeah and you owe me because you didn't back me up"
"Well I told you I would've fallen asleep with you playing with my hair" Nick said, sheepishly scratching the back of his head.
"But that doesn't explain why you vandalised my body"
"I couldn't find a paper," Charlie quipped.
Charlie gave Nick a quick kiss and threw him an apron.
"Time to get our Martha Stewart on"
Nick chuckled. This was their first time baking together. Nick fondly watched Charlie fumble over collecting the needed utensils; even when he was mildly stressed he was cute. The way his eyebrows furrowed and how his lips moved as he quietly muttered to himself was extremely endearing.
"Lift up your hoodie for a sec I need to check the recipe"
"What's the magic word" Nick smirked.
"Please"
Nick removed his apron, and his hoodie… And the shirt underneath. Charlie audibly gasped as he gawked at his boyfriend's body.
"I figured this would be easier" Nick giggled at the blushing face looking at him.
"Shut up" Charlie playfully hit his chest, his hand stationed on the bare skin for 5 seconds too long before retracting.
"I can put my shirt back on if it's too distracting"
"Shut up Nelson" Charlie took a quick glance at his back, trailing his fingers across it as he read the ingredients.
It was about 5 minutes of mixing and pouring until they needed the second half of the recipe.
"I can barely read it! If only someone kept still while I was trying to write," Charlie teased, poking Nick's tummy for emphasis.
"Hehehey- Watch it, I could have spilled this all over you" Nick giggled, holding a bowl of flour.
"You better not get any in my hair Nick."
He really did try his hardest. Charlie's fingers just glided way to close to his belly button and it caused the lad to flinch.
"Nick!" a healthy coating of flour fell onto Charlie's hair.
Nick tried to stifle his laughter and apologize but he burst into a fit of giggles.
"I can't believe you've done this."
Nick's laughter rose as he clutched his tummy, having to set the bowl on the counter.
Charlie smiled, a playful giddiness surging through his body.
"I'm covered in flour and you're laughing?"
Nick fell to the floor, the scene before him had him in stitches. Charlie couldn't help laughing along. How could he not? Nick's laughter was contagious.
"I'll give you something to laugh about."
With that, Charlie reached into the bowl and got a fistful of flour, promptly throwing it at Nick.
"Haha hey-"
Now it was Charlie's turn to laugh. Not for long though, Nick quickly got up and chased Charlie around the kitchen island. The boys giggled as they launched flour at each other, so entranced in their chase they didn't notice Tori watching their fiasco unfold.
Nick eventually snatched Charlie by the waist, rubbing his cheek against Charlie's.
"Why are we like this?" Charlie sighed happily, resting his smooshed cheek against Nick's face.
"I've been wondering the same thing" said Tori, making her presence known. She took a casual sip from her straw before shaking her head and going back upstairs.
Nick and Charlie blushed.
"How long had she-"
"It's better not to ask… We should probably clean up," Charlie said, looking at the mess they made.
It didn't take that long with both of them helping out and the muffins were baking in the oven in no time. They sat on the couch as they waited.
Charlie was curled up against Nick, who had wrapped him in a blanket.
"You still have some flour left on you, here let me get it-" Nick gently cupped Charlie's face and kissed his lips.
Charlie's eyes widened then softly closed as he returned the kiss.
"That was very cringey Nelson"
"You love me~" Nick teased, playfully nibbling Charlie's neck.
The boy squealed, unable to pull away. Things only got worse when Nick rubbed his stubble on Charlie's neck.
"Nick, stop" Charlie whined.
"I'm just trying to love my lil stud muffin"
"Shut up" Charlie groaned.
Moments like these made Charlie regret loving Nick's rugby arms. Fortunately, he could still reach Nick's thighs and gave them several squeezes.
Nick gasped, instinctively clutching Charlie even tighter against himself. He soon roared with laughter as Charlie's deft fingers wiggled under each thigh.
Out of desperation he launched himself off of the couch, only to be straddled by Charlie.
"And this is for putting flour in my hair!"
Nick's thighs were poked and squished and squeezed. He kicked his legs wildly trying to knock Charlie off.
"Weeee~" Charlie giggled as he held tightly onto Nick's flailing legs.
"No, no, no Char please not the calves not th-AHEHEHEHEHE"
Charlie tickled Nick's calves despite his playful protests not to. He would live to regret it though as he felt Nick wrap a hand around his ankle.
The laughter subsided as both boys stared at each other apprehensively.
Nick's signature smile dawned on his face.
"Are… Are your feet ticklish?" he asked, taking deep breaths.
Charlie replied with a gentle blush and pleading eyes. Nick curiously swiped a few fingers across the socked soles, which immediately tried to retract once touched. Nick wrapped them in a headlock and started digging his fingers along both of them. Charlie fell and arched his back letting out the loudest cackle Nick ever heard.
Charlie's laugh soon became silent the closer Nick's teasing fingers got to his toes.
"Looks like I found your weak spot Char~" Nick said with a grin.
Looking back, he saw Charlie with laughing tears streaming down his face as the boy curled up in on himself. His shoulder bounced up and down, signalling he was laughing quite hard.
"Is- is this too much?"
Charlie couldn't really verbally respond but he shook his head and promptly covered his face in embarrassment. Nick cooed at the adorable reaction, using his nails to softly dig under Charlie's toes. The boy's laughter returned with sputtered snorts and begging.
"Nihihick I swear-"
"Swearing isn't nice Charles, you know better"
With a battle cry, Charlie managed to latch his fingers onto Nick's sides pinching up and down. The rugby lad had no other choice but to let go of Charlie's feet to protect himself.
The boys both fought to gain the upper hand. They found themselves staring at each other face to face. Their hands rested on each other's sides.
"Give up already," Charlie said breathlessly.
"Nuh uh you started this"
"I did not!"
"Did too!"
"Nicholas!"
"Charles!"
Bright laughter filled the house once more as the boys tickled each other's sides. Charlie's laugh was much lighter and hiccupy and Nick's laugh was more hearty with a few snorts interspersed. The boys looked at each other, both thinking about how cute the other looked. This went on for a couple minutes, the oven clock dinging them back to reality.
"Carry me" Charlie panted, flopping onto Nick's chest.
Nick picked Charlie up bridal style and sat him on the counter. Charlie knew he made muffins, but he couldn't help sneaking a peek at Nick's buns, giggling to himself.
"They smell delicious!" exclaimed Nick, as he set the muffins down to cool.
"Tao's going to flip when he loses" Charlie extended his arms, hugging Nick tightly.
"Now put your shirt back on-"

anxiously awaiting your thoughts on no way home
omg i just saw this skdjfhg // spoilers ahead (in case u don't have my tag blocked)
but honestly that was an experience like none other because of the history and the nostalgia and just seeing it all come together, watching all three spider-men immediately click and just get each other was so so special. and seeing all of them swinging together?? next level, like maybe even more hype than cap lifting mjolnir in endgame.
ned and mj helping peter was so wholesome and i loved it sm. ned literally bringing the spider-men together??!! yes exactly and thank you. i felt like there could be a big future there with ned's powers even though i'm not sure now because of how it ended, maybe if they fix this timeline we'll get to explore that.
and mj forgetting him after confessing her love :((( were they only dating for like a week max? yes. but still they were cute. and something about the way she looked at him, there was definitely something there but it might've just been that connection they had yk. idk if she'll be able to uncover his identity this time maybe not the whole they used to date thing but if he keeps showing up and watching over her (which he probs will tbh) then she'll def know something's up and get suspicious.
peter has been through so much oh my god, and i cannot believe they made us think may would be okay just for her to die like that sjkfdhgkj i lowkey saw it coming but it still hurt and i cried cause the way peter was calling out to her in that scene ugh.
the way that peter's character has grown and everything that he's gone through has honestly put me through the ringer too god i love that boy so much he deserves a break. he literally has no one like for real this time and i am in so much pain for him.
one thing that i'm anxious about but also kinda excited about is the fact that we have no idea where this could go. they could use this as an opportunity to bring in other alternative characters like gwen and harry into peter's story but if that means mj and ned would ultimately be replaced i'm like mmmmm please don't do that––
but like i said in the tags of another post i reblogged earlier, i do think this is the most "spider-man" mcu sm has felt at least to me, compared to the other and the comics and there's something great about that even tho he's literally all alone :/
i hope to see him become a mentor to miles or at least just help him out here and there cause he was indirectly mentioned when electro said he thought andrew's spider-man was black skjfhgd
idk bottom line is i'm scared and peter deserves to be happy !! but this movie was amazing, from the humor, to the visuals, the fight scenes, the intensity, the homage to spider-man's character (in all iterations), everything.
