Finished the first set of units for clue three of Indigo Way!
I've really enjoyed this little twist on the classic half square triangle unit! The little square in the corner completely changes the effect!
And though I've been having fun making these units, the way they fit into the pattern has really confused me. Clue three had us make an odd number of units, which doesn't quite fit with the symmetrical way many quilt blocks are drafted.
I guess that's the fun of a mystery quilt!

Got started piecing my Indigo Way mystery quilt this morning!
The first clue was a set of half square triangles using my blue and teal fabrics! Some have a lot of contrast, some have only a little, but I love the way they've come together!
And I was so excited to get started on this project that I'm already finished the first clue! Now to wait another week before I can continue...

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!
It's been about a month now since the last time I released a general project update, so this week seemed like a good time to share what I've been up to!
I'm excited to share the progress I've been making on my floral Dresden Plate blocks for the Generations Quilt project, my completed bee-themed Ice Cream Soda blocks, and my most recently completed clue for Indigo Way! All of these projects have been a lot of fun to work on and the various methods each employs have given me a lot of fun variety in my work!
Check out the full details of each project by visiting the Fibre Arts blog!

Working my way through clue seven of Indigo Way!
After getting sick around New Years, I've finally started back to working on this quilt! I decided to jump ahead from clue four up to clue seven and start putting together some blocks, and I love how they're turning out!
I'm around half way through making these blocks and can't wait to keep piecing!

Finished clue 2 two of Indigo Way!
I really love how the blue and beige look together, they have really great contrast and should work great with last week's half square triangle units!
So excited to see what we will make next!

Finished clue four of Indigo Way!
This was the first clue that used all four colours at once, I had so much fun trying out all the different combinations of prints and values offered by my various fabric choices! I got a really great variety of units for this clue!
Now to wait for the next clue, I wonder what unit we'll make next?

Super excited to be starting a new Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt next week!
The original colour scheme for this quilt was indigo, blue, red, and neutral, but I love picking my own colours and decided on something a little different. I picked blue, teal, beige, and a salmony pink;

I really love how these colours look together and am really excited to work with them!
I did notice along the way that my colour scheme is actually not that far off the original; indigo vs royal blue, light blue vs teal, red vs pink, and beige is just a neutral colour, but I've jumbled my colours so they'll be in different places within the pattern, so it should create a totally unique effect in the end!
And of course, Bonnie Hunter is well known as a scrap quilt designer and always encourages participants to make her patterns from their existing fabric collection, so I did my best to pull from what I already own. All of the beige, about half of the pink and teal, and maybe a third of the blue came from my pre-existing collection of fabric, the remainder was purchased, so about 65% of this quilt will use fabric that I already had at home!
Can't wait for the first clue to release on 24 November!

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!
Guess who got distracted by some new quilt alongs? Surprising absolutely no one, it was me!
A few free to join mystery quilt projects have crossed my path and, after all the quilting I've been doing recently, I'm really craving something new to piece! Bonnie Hunter released the fabric requirements for her annual mystery quilt along a few weeks ago, and the piecing instructions will start releasing on Friday, and the CQA has announced a BoM mystery quilt project as well!
I've done some colour planning this week on the Fibre Arts blog to prepare for both of these, I can't wait to start piecing!
