Sahasrabahu Temple, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India These 11th-century twin temples are near the Gwalior Fort and locally known as the Sas-bahu temple. The irony lies in the fact that as the name suggests it is not the temple of sas (mother-in-law) and bahu (daughter-in-law). The name emerged from ‘sastrabahu’ which is another name of Lord Vishnu. This larger temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his Padmanabha form. The other smaller temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. Badly damaged from numerous invasions and Hindu-Muslim wars in the region, the temple has been put back together again. The temple's tower and sanctum have been destroyed, but its architecture and damaged carvings can still be appreciated from the ruins. #sahastrabahu #gwalior #madhyapradesh #vishnu #padamnabh #indiansculpture #indianart #templeart #hindutemples #indianheritage #india #incredibleindia #indianculture #heritage #temples #indiantemples #indianhistory #architecture #indianarchitecture #heritageofindia #hinduism #sanatan #trendingNow #trending #foryou #like #follow #poseidon #BeingAmitBhola https://www.instagram.com/p/CQmul1rluTvjUtUVxJQxMsrCJg3d0BkGL30YNU0/?utm_medium=tumblr

" Exploring the rich shade of Indian art and culture is a trip through history, tradition, and invention. From the dateless fineness of classical cotillion forms to the bold expressions of ultramodern Indian art, the artistic heritage of India is as different as it's profound. For a deeper dive into this vibrant world, I lately came across a fantastic resource at IndraDigi. They offer perceptive papers and updates on the rearmost trends in art, culture, and more. surely worth checking out if you are passionate about the trades!"
