Thoughts on Ishan :
(and ict in general)
1. When he opted out of India's test squad before our series with S. Africa....I knew... I KNEW it will be a long time before we'll get to see him playing for India again.
And then few weeks later Rahul Dravid said in a press conference... He can come back... Just play domestic.... My heart sank.
Here's the thing, I don't blame him at all for taking a break due to mental fatigue.
I fully support his decision as well. He prioritised himself and that's good.
But my dude... If I was your friend, if I was there with you... I wouldn't have let you go.
I would have grabbed his trousers and refused to let go. This is team India. You take one step back and 10 other people are standing right behind you ready to take your place.
Shubhman gill was hyped up so much... Remember his 126 in 63 balls against New Zealand?
But he faltered.
And Today he's in reserve.
Jaiswal is going to be our new opener in all 3 formats very soon. And there's nothing wrong with that. The guy earned it.
Ishan left the South Africa Series and a month later during the india Vs England test Series Jurel was picked and he did an excellent job.
Now imagine... Imagine if Ishan was there instead... If ishan had scored those 90 runs.....he would have made his place permanent.
I'll repeat myself.... I don't blame him for leaving... But he should have thought this through. Especially when a guy like Rahul Dravid is your coach.
(he's the same guy who gave declaration during a test match when Sachin Tendulkar was about to score a century. He's not as innocent as he looks.)
Another thing which really hurts me is how so many people complain about him being benched and then dropped but Yaar....there are tons of players who have gone through this.
Even Ashwin was benched. He said in an interview that when his team would win he wouldn't even feel like going in the ground to congratulate them coz of how hurt he felt.
It happens.
.
.
.
Anyways My overall opinion on this drama is :
1. I support him for leaving.
2. But I hate that he left.
3. A block of ice would be a better coach than Rahul Dravid.
Anyways... Jo hogaya so hogaya.
What I want now is for him to focus on his future.
And He can start by leaving Mumbai Indians.
MI was the team who would pick young players, groom and invest in them and make them capable enough for team India.
The MI we have seen this year is no longer that team. It doesn't matter how many reels their insta page puts out, the atmosphere of that team is tense, awkward and a hot mess.
If Mumbai really cared about a future captain as they claimed.... They should have made Ishan their new captain...like how csk and gt did with ruturaj and gill.
But oh well.
Right now... The best he can do is keep himself fit, play domestic and leave MI at THE EARLIEST.
That team, it's atmosphere, the mismanagement and inner conflicts (believe me, they exist) will not help him at all.
Imo, he doesn't need a team to grow. He has developed a good skill set. What he needs now is a stage.
A team like Kkr, RR or Gt will be great for that because these teams don't drop Their players after 1 or 2 matches... Have good coaches, stable environment and a good atmosphere overall.
Ishan is an excellent wicket keeper + batsman and the type of cricket he plays is best suited for t20 format (one day and test also but especially t20).
Whether we win or lose this t20 world cup... This one is the last one for our senior players.
After that, our youngsters will take charge (at least they should).
Yashasvi and Abhishek should be our openers.
Gill, rutu and Riyan would perfect be for middle order.
Ishan, with his explosive batting style, would be the perfect finisher.
Also... This dumb culture of batters not learning bowling (encouraged by this stupid impact rule) that has developed in the Indian team needs to STOP.
Look at Australia and New Zealand's t20 squad. Look at how many all rounders they have.
Look at ours. We won the 2007 cup because of all rounders as well.
Also... We cage our players. We hold them back. A player like Travis head is playing with such ferocity because his style and mindset is supported by his captain, his team and his media.
Meanwhile... If an Indian player attempts to do the same and doesn't make a big score in 2 -3 matches... He'll be benched instantly.
Another thing... If we look up the stats of our players in this year's t20 wc squad...
Except virat, Bumrah and maybe kuldeep ...everyone else is on ram bharose.
When players like n. reddy, ishan, rutu, gill, Riyan, natrajan... will be groomed and given enough opportunities....their aggressive style will be supported instead of criticized.... that's when we will win trophies.

Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 03/07/2024 - 20:03in Military
In a significant move, the Indian Cabinet Security Committee approved the fifth-generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) poaching project to be executed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
With an estimated cost of approximately US$ 2 billion, the project will be carried out by the Aeronautical Development Agency of the Defense Research and Development Organization. The goal is to develop poaching and its associated technologies in collaboration with several public and private sector entities. The plan includes the construction of approximately five prototypes within a period of about five years.
According to sources, the project will involve the production of the prototype by industry players, including the public sector company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

— Vivek Singh (@VivekSi85847001) March 7, 2024
The government has actively sought the development of national technologies in the defense sector.
The Ministry of Defense predicts that the fifth-generation aircraft project will create numerous employment opportunities and may result in substantial commercial contracts worth millions of dollars for Indian companies. This initiative is expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Air Force has significantly strengthened its support for Indian fighter aircraft projects. This is evidenced by the government's acquisition of more than 200 light combat aircraft and the approval of engines for the LCA Mark-2 project.
Tumblr media
The introduction of the AMCA into operational functions is expected to begin after 2030. The two initial squads are planned to be equipped with GE-414 engines, while discussions are underway for the co-development of more powerful engines for the subsequent squads.
India is expected to introduce more than 200 of these advanced fifth-generation fighters, which will also contribute to the country's ability to develop future generations of jet fighters in the domestic market.

Canadian police have arrested members of an alleged hit squad investigators believe was tasked by the government of India with killing prominent Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, B.C., last June, CBC News has learned. Sources close to the investigation also told CBC News that police are actively investigating possible links to three additional murders in Canada, including the shooting death of an 11-year-old boy in Edmonton. Members of the hit squad are alleged to have played different roles as shooters, drivers and spotters on the day Nijjar was killed at the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, according to the sources. Sources said investigators identified the alleged hit squad members in Canada some months ago and have been keeping them under tight surveillance. Kamalpreet Singh, Karanpreet Singh and Karan Brar face first-degree murder and conspiracy charges in the Nijjar case, according to documents filed in a Surrey court Friday. The charges have not been tested in court, but they all appeared before a judge virtually on Friday. [...] Nijjar, a 45-year-old Canadian citizen, was shot dead on June 18, shortly after evening prayers at his Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, B.C., in what appeared to be a highly coordinated attack, according to video of the incident obtained by CBC's The Fifth Estate. Last August, Canadian officials told representatives of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government in person that Canada had intelligence linking it to Nijjar's killing. A month later — on Sept. 18, 2023, not long after returning from a fraught visit to India for the G20 Summit — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rose in the House of Commons to state that "Canadian security agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the government of India" and Nijjar's killing. "Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty," he added. Modi's government has denied it ordered extrajudicial killings in the U.S. and Canada. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar initially decried the Canadian allegation as "absurd" and accused Canada of harbouring violent extremists.

[ad_1] Notani, the owner with Sachin Tendulkar (PC: Subhayan Chakraborty) Subhayan Chakraborty in Perth After scripting a historic 295-run victory at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a magnificent century to give India a 1-0 lead in the five-Test series against Australia, was spotted on Monday evening, taking a leisurely stroll on St Georges Terrace. He paused briefly in front of ‘Balti’ restaurant, waving to the staff working inside. Over the years, ‘Balti’, an Indian restaurant located at the heart of Perth, has become a cherished spot for the Indian cricket team, offering a taste of home amid their travels. It has become a home away from home. The restaurant has been particularly busy this time, with owner Ashwani Notani hosting around 40 Indian players, including members of both the main squad and the India A team, who were in Perth preparing for the opening Test. Even after the India A players returned home, the tradition of visiting ‘Balti’ for authentic Indian meals continued through the Test match and into the supposed fifth day of the game on Tuesday. Players like Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Dhruv Jurel have been frequent visitors, enjoying the flavours of home. ‘Balti’ is not just about the food, it’s also about the privacy it affords its guests. Even when fans recognise the cricketers, the restaurant staff ensure they can dine undisturbed. It has been different this time. The India A players were also here. They started coming in from the very first day, November 11, and it continued till the very last day that was November 26. “The players, who had toured here before already knew about us, so the word was already within the team,” Notani, the owner of the restaurant, told RevSportz. “Ravichandran Ashwin was the first one who came here this time and from there the likes of Siraj, Pant and others.” For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Balti Restaurant (PC: Subhayan Chakraborty) Notani added: “I know Gautam Gambhir from his playing days, along with Sachin Tendulkar. It all started in 2012. And it’s always special to host Gambhir here. We cook authentic food here. We cook it in Delhi style with desi tadka and masalas so they feel less homesick.” With modern cricketers focusing more on fitness, dietary preferences have evolved. Notani noted: “It has happened for the first time that the demand for jeera rice is very high with desi ghee among the players. Earlier, the players didn’t use to emphasise a lot on their diet but now, with the young blood, they are very precise in what and how much they eat. The bowlers want more protein, chicken. We don’t pre-cook and have as many as six chefs on busy days. The best thing about Indians is hospitality, and we serve people here as we would host them at our home.” The walls of ‘Balti’ are adorned with photos of cricket legends like Tendulkar, Wasim Akram, Michael Vaughan and Ravi Shastri, enhancing the cricketing ambiance. Privacy remains a priority, Notani emphasised. “We ensure players have their space, especially when they’re eating. It’s something they’ve requested, and we respect that.” Notani, a foodie, prides himself on using local Australian products to craft authentic Indian dishes. “I was really wanting Jasprit Bumrah to come. Virat Kohli has become really strict with his diet but earlier, in 2012, he used to love our tandoori chickens and aloo parathas. He is the fittest cricketer now. Jasprit is so popular, along with Kohli, they might get troubled by fans on the street,” the Delhi-born restaurateur said. As the Indian team moves on to Canberra and beyond, they will carry with them the comforting taste of India from ‘Balti’. Top 3 Knocks By Rohit Sharma In Test Cricket
Tumblr media
Over the past few years, Rohit Sharma - who is renowned for his powerful hitting and elegant stroke play - has undergone a significant transformation. Once widely regarded as a limited-overs specialist, the Hitman has hushed his critics and become a pivotal figure in India's Test cricket resurgence. Rohit's development from a T20 superstar to a capable Test batsman demonstrates his adaptability and unwavering determination. He possesses a special gift that is typically reserved for the finest players: the ability to effortlessly transition between forms. His exploits in the shorter forms continue to enthrall fans, but his achievements in Test cricket have solidified his status as a contemporary icon. With a combination of strength, timing, and attitude, Rohit Sharma has produced innings of exceptional excellence in the game's longest format. His ability to lead the innings and his propensity for scoring enormous totals make him an essential element of the Indian Test team, especially in the upcoming cricket matches. Let's examine some of the maestro's best knocks played in the red-ball format.
212 vs South Africa, 2019 Ranchi
Rohit Sharma had a spectacular comeback in Test cricket in 2019. He had an outstanding game and finished as the series' leading run-scorer. In three tests, Rohit Sharma amassed 529 runs at an average of 132.25. In the series' third Test match, he scored his highest-ever Test Cricket score. Rohit Sharma's run rate was unaltered even when players like Mayank Agarwal, Pujara, and Kohli were dismissed at low scores. He scored 212 runs in just 255 balls with a strike rate of over 80, including six sixes and 28 fours inside his knock. His effort helped India collect 497 runs in the first innings. India won that match by 202 runs and an inning.
177 vs West Indies, 2013 Kolkata
India's current captain, Rohit Sharma, made his Test debut in November 2013 at Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata during Sachin Tendulkar's farewell Test match against the West Indies. The skipper of India had an outstanding Test debut. After the West Indies scored 234 runs in the first innings, India amassed an incredible 453 runs in the second, thanks to a spectacular knock by Rohit Sharma. The hitman came onto the pitch during a difficult part of the game. India had lost four wickets and only managed 82 runs. However, Rohit Sharma then struck with a stunning punch. In order to take control of the game, he assisted in forming crucial alliances with MS Dhoni and Ravichandran Ashwin. Rohit Sharma was quite successful, scoring 177 runs in 301 balls with 23 fours and 1 six, setting the live scorecard on fire. Apart from saving the innings, he also registered his first hundred in the already long list of Rohit Sharma centuries. Moreover, this was the innings that established his reputation as a dangerous player.
176 vs South Africa, 2019 Visakhapatnam
In Test cricket, Rohit Sharma's performances deteriorated after he made some outstanding knocks in the first few games. He was later dismissed from the squad. Rohit Sharma was given another chance to start his Test Cricket career again before the 2019 World Test Championship started. Rohit Sharma began for India against South Africa at Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium, scoring 176 runs off 244 balls in his first return innings. He helped the team to 502 runs in the first innings by sharing an incredible 317 runs for the first wicket with Mayank Agarwal. India won by 203 runs in that match.

India add top-order batter to squad one day before Perth Test
India have made a late addition to their squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, drafting in a top-order batter just a day before the Perth Test.
Even before the series began, India were braced for the unavailability of captain and opening batter Rohit Sharma, who has now become a father for the second time. He has now been confirmed to miss the first Test in Perth, with fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah taking over captaincy duties.
However, the visitors were dealt a second blow when Shubman Gill was injured during a practice match, hurting his thumb attempting to take a slip catch. Despite initial reports saying he had fractured his thumb, the injury may not be as serious as that. It could still keep him out of the first Test though, with coach Morne Morkel saying India would "take a call on the morning of the Test (Friday)".
Devdutt Padikkal added to India Test squad one day ahead of Perth Test
Padikkal was part of the India 'A' squad which played two first-class matches against Australia 'A' earlier this month, as a precursor to the series along with fellow Indian squad members Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abhimanyu Easwaran. Dhruv Jurel and KL Rahul were also included for the second match.

Italy will buy AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles for its F-35 fighters
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 03/18/2024 - 13:00 in Armaments, Military
The U.S. State Department approved the sale of AIM-9X Sidewinder air-to-air missiles to Italy, the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced.
The requested package of US$90 million includes the AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II+ missiles; containers; weapon support and support equipment; spare and repair parts; logistics support services and other related elements.
The contract, announced on Friday (03/15), specifies that RTX will be the main contractor. The sale also requires the approval of the U.S. Congress, which has been notified of the approval of the deal by the State Department.
Tumblr media
According to the DSCA, the proposed sale will improve Italy's ability to face current and future threats by providing training missiles and guidance units for the Italian F-35 fleet in support of the NATO defense mission.
The AIM-9X Sidewinder missile, which entered service in November 2003, includes advanced infrared, short-range, air-to-air and surface-to-air tracking missiles. The Block II variant, which completed its first firing test in November 2008, has a redesigned fuser and a digital ignition safety device to improve ground handling and safety in flight.
