Thoughts on Ishan :
(and ict in general)
1. When he opted out of India's test squad before our series with S. Africa....I knew... I KNEW it will be a long time before we'll get to see him playing for India again.
And then few weeks later Rahul Dravid said in a press conference... He can come back... Just play domestic.... My heart sank.
Here's the thing, I don't blame him at all for taking a break due to mental fatigue.
I fully support his decision as well. He prioritised himself and that's good.
But my dude... If I was your friend, if I was there with you... I wouldn't have let you go.
I would have grabbed his trousers and refused to let go. This is team India. You take one step back and 10 other people are standing right behind you ready to take your place.
Shubhman gill was hyped up so much... Remember his 126 in 63 balls against New Zealand?
But he faltered.
And Today he's in reserve.
Jaiswal is going to be our new opener in all 3 formats very soon. And there's nothing wrong with that. The guy earned it.
Ishan left the South Africa Series and a month later during the india Vs England test Series Jurel was picked and he did an excellent job.
Now imagine... Imagine if Ishan was there instead... If ishan had scored those 90 runs.....he would have made his place permanent.
I'll repeat myself.... I don't blame him for leaving... But he should have thought this through. Especially when a guy like Rahul Dravid is your coach.
(he's the same guy who gave declaration during a test match when Sachin Tendulkar was about to score a century. He's not as innocent as he looks.)
Another thing which really hurts me is how so many people complain about him being benched and then dropped but Yaar....there are tons of players who have gone through this.
Even Ashwin was benched. He said in an interview that when his team would win he wouldn't even feel like going in the ground to congratulate them coz of how hurt he felt.
It happens.
.
.
.
Anyways My overall opinion on this drama is :
1. I support him for leaving.
2. But I hate that he left.
3. A block of ice would be a better coach than Rahul Dravid.
Anyways... Jo hogaya so hogaya.
What I want now is for him to focus on his future.
And He can start by leaving Mumbai Indians.
MI was the team who would pick young players, groom and invest in them and make them capable enough for team India.
The MI we have seen this year is no longer that team. It doesn't matter how many reels their insta page puts out, the atmosphere of that team is tense, awkward and a hot mess.
If Mumbai really cared about a future captain as they claimed.... They should have made Ishan their new captain...like how csk and gt did with ruturaj and gill.
But oh well.
Right now... The best he can do is keep himself fit, play domestic and leave MI at THE EARLIEST.
That team, it's atmosphere, the mismanagement and inner conflicts (believe me, they exist) will not help him at all.
Imo, he doesn't need a team to grow. He has developed a good skill set. What he needs now is a stage.
A team like Kkr, RR or Gt will be great for that because these teams don't drop Their players after 1 or 2 matches... Have good coaches, stable environment and a good atmosphere overall.
Ishan is an excellent wicket keeper + batsman and the type of cricket he plays is best suited for t20 format (one day and test also but especially t20).
Whether we win or lose this t20 world cup... This one is the last one for our senior players.
After that, our youngsters will take charge (at least they should).
Yashasvi and Abhishek should be our openers.
Gill, rutu and Riyan would perfect be for middle order.
Ishan, with his explosive batting style, would be the perfect finisher.
Also... This dumb culture of batters not learning bowling (encouraged by this stupid impact rule) that has developed in the Indian team needs to STOP.
Look at Australia and New Zealand's t20 squad. Look at how many all rounders they have.
Look at ours. We won the 2007 cup because of all rounders as well.
Also... We cage our players. We hold them back. A player like Travis head is playing with such ferocity because his style and mindset is supported by his captain, his team and his media.
Meanwhile... If an Indian player attempts to do the same and doesn't make a big score in 2 -3 matches... He'll be benched instantly.
Another thing... If we look up the stats of our players in this year's t20 wc squad...
Except virat, Bumrah and maybe kuldeep ...everyone else is on ram bharose.
When players like n. reddy, ishan, rutu, gill, Riyan, natrajan... will be groomed and given enough opportunities....their aggressive style will be supported instead of criticized.... that's when we will win trophies.

India approves development of the 5ª generation 'AMCA' fighter
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 03/07/2024 - 20:03in Military
In a significant move, the Indian Cabinet Security Committee approved the fifth-generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) poaching project to be executed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
With an estimated cost of approximately US$ 2 billion, the project will be carried out by the Aeronautical Development Agency of the Defense Research and Development Organization. The goal is to develop poaching and its associated technologies in collaboration with several public and private sector entities. The plan includes the construction of approximately five prototypes within a period of about five years.
According to sources, the project will involve the production of the prototype by industry players, including the public sector company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
AMCA ??
As CCS Chaired by PM Modi Clears India Stealth Fighter Jet Program. The total Program cost would be Rs 15,000 Cr & total 5 Prototype will be built in 5 Years with first Proto Roll out in 3 Year
All the Tech required for it already built & devloped.
— Vivek Singh (@VivekSi85847001) March 7, 2024
The government has actively sought the development of national technologies in the defense sector.
The Ministry of Defense predicts that the fifth-generation aircraft project will create numerous employment opportunities and may result in substantial commercial contracts worth millions of dollars for Indian companies. This initiative is expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Air Force has significantly strengthened its support for Indian fighter aircraft projects. This is evidenced by the government's acquisition of more than 200 light combat aircraft and the approval of engines for the LCA Mark-2 project.
The introduction of the AMCA into operational functions is expected to begin after 2030. The two initial squads are planned to be equipped with GE-414 engines, while discussions are underway for the co-development of more powerful engines for the subsequent squads.
India is expected to introduce more than 200 of these advanced fifth-generation fighters, which will also contribute to the country's ability to develop future generations of jet fighters in the domestic market.

Canadian police have arrested members of an alleged hit squad investigators believe was tasked by the government of India with killing prominent Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, B.C., last June, CBC News has learned. Sources close to the investigation also told CBC News that police are actively investigating possible links to three additional murders in Canada, including the shooting death of an 11-year-old boy in Edmonton. Members of the hit squad are alleged to have played different roles as shooters, drivers and spotters on the day Nijjar was killed at the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, according to the sources. Sources said investigators identified the alleged hit squad members in Canada some months ago and have been keeping them under tight surveillance. Kamalpreet Singh, Karanpreet Singh and Karan Brar face first-degree murder and conspiracy charges in the Nijjar case, according to documents filed in a Surrey court Friday. The charges have not been tested in court, but they all appeared before a judge virtually on Friday. [...] Nijjar, a 45-year-old Canadian citizen, was shot dead on June 18, shortly after evening prayers at his Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, B.C., in what appeared to be a highly coordinated attack, according to video of the incident obtained by CBC's The Fifth Estate. Last August, Canadian officials told representatives of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government in person that Canada had intelligence linking it to Nijjar's killing. A month later — on Sept. 18, 2023, not long after returning from a fraught visit to India for the G20 Summit — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rose in the House of Commons to state that "Canadian security agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the government of India" and Nijjar's killing. "Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty," he added. Modi's government has denied it ordered extrajudicial killings in the U.S. and Canada. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar initially decried the Canadian allegation as "absurd" and accused Canada of harbouring violent extremists.

Now that the T20i leg of the tour is over... Any Omegaverse headcanons about both squads? 🤭 Brydon feels like an alpha to me, as for Bethell I can genuinely see him as all of alpha, beta and omega 😂 Gus is also alpha, ig? So is Archer... Ben and Phil both feel like betas to me, but I can see Ben as omega too. Thoughts?
As for the India squad... Suryakumar is definitely a beta, he seems so chill! The concussion sub Harshit Rana-- I saw him in the BGT too and there's no way he's anything but alpha. Shivam Dube-- he's another one who can fit into all three categories for me 😂 Sanju Samson is a beta. Arshdeep Singh is an alpha too. Varun Chakravarthy is the calmest beta you've ever met. Tilak Verma feels like an alpha to me. Abhishek Sharma is too pretty to be anything but omega. 😂🤭
Your thoughts?
So the England squad I’ve pretty much got sorted, including the new test boys. I don’t *think* there are any spoilers so I’m happy to run through those:
Gus - alpha
Brydon - Alpha
Matty Potts - omega
Bashir - omega
Jamie - Alpha
Jacob - Alpha
The others you mentioned, Jof is definetly alpha, ducky 1000% beta and I can see Phil as a beta.
As for the Indians, I think that’s a pretty good gauge. Again, I don’t know them amazingly or watch them that much so I’ll go on indications from those who know better for these guys :)

ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Jasprit Bumrah Delivers Major Injury Update After 'bed rest' Report
Champions Trophy 2025: Jasprit Bumrah has put an end to rumors about his fitness, as the ace Indian pacer categorically denied reports that he has been advised bed rest due to swelling on his back. The 31-year-old fast bowler dismissed the claims with humor, calling them baseless and coming from unreliable sources.
With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on the horizon, Bumrah's participation remains in serious doubt after he suffered a back spasm during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. While the BCCI remained silent on Bumrah’s availability, there has been a lot of speculation about his injury.

Jasprit Bumrah denies reports of swelling on his back!!
On January 15, a report by The Times of India created a storm on social media. The report claimed that medical experts have allegedly advised the Indian bowler to take bed rest due to swelling on his back, and he will soon head to the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru for treatment.
The Times of India was quoted as saying by a source: “Bumrah could go to the CoE next week, but right now there is no fixed date yet. He has been advised to have bed rest at home to help the muscles recover and the swelling to subside. Once that is done, the future course of action will be ascertained.”

“Fake news made me laugh”: Jasprit Bumrah dismisses reports of bed rest
After the news spread like wildfire, Jasprit Bumrah was forced to take to his social media handle to quash the rumors. He laughed at the “fake news” and called the source “unreliable.” The Indian pacer rubbished the report while tagging the content creator on X, which was later deleted following the Indian star's reaction.
Bumrah posted on X: “I know fake news is easy to spread, but this made me laugh. Sources unreliable,” with a couple of laughing emojis.
Meanwhile, the Indian pacer was in stellar form last year across the format before suffering the back spasm on the Australia tour, where he took 32 wickets in nine innings and won the Player of the Series award.
Bumrah is currently the top-ranked bowler in the ICC Test Rankings and was also awarded the ICC Player of the Month award for December 2024 for his remarkable performance in the recent Test series against Australia.

BCCI delays ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad announcement due to Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav's fitness issues
He has taken 22 wickets in three Tests at an average of 14.22 last month in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Bumrah was also recently nominated for two of the top honors in the ICC Awards 2024—the ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year Award and the coveted Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year for his incredible bowling display in 2024.
Notably, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to announce the squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 before the final deadline, and the reason behind this delay is the uncertainty over the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav.
The Men in Blue will kickstart their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, UAE.

Harbhajan Singh Attacks Gautam Gambhir Over Dressing Room Leak Allegations Against Sarfaraz Khan
Harbhajan Singh Attacks Gautam Gambhir: Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has lashed out at India's head coach Gautam Gambhir for putting allegations on Sarfaraz Khan regarding the dressing room leaks. Harbhajan feels that Gambhir shouldn't have said such things and instead should have talked to the youngster.
Recently, a report in News 24 claimed that Gambhir named Sarfaraz in the BCCI's review meeting who leaked India's dressing room information to the media. In the same meeting, there were discussions on India's dismal performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
While the reports have claimed Gautam Gambhir to be blaming Sarfaraz, the India head coach hasn't said it officially so far and also hasn't responded on this issue. However, he has expressed his displeasure on the leaking of dressing room information in a press conference during the series.

Harbhajan Singh slams Gautam Gambhir
While speaking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan Singh spoke on the recent controversies surrounding the Indian cricket team after the team's defeat in Australia. He also shed light on Gautam Gambhir blaming Sarfaraz Khan for the dressing room leaks.
Harbhajan feels that Gautam Gambhir should have spoken to Sarfaraz before blaming him in front of BCCI officials. According to Harbhajan, Sarfaraz has a lot of cricket left in him and Gambhir should have explained to him first.
"Whatever has happened in the last few days, be it in Australia or after that...there are wins and losses on the field. But everyday new stories should not come out of the dressing room. Today there was a report that coach saab (Gautam Gambhir) has said Sarfaraz Khan has leaked dressing room talks to media," Harbhajan said.
"If the coach has said this, he should not have done so. If Sarfaraz Khan had done this in Australia, you are the coach, you could have talked to him then. He is a player, make him understand. He is a youngster, he will play for India in the future," he added.

Harbhajan Singh blames Sarfaraz Khan
The former Indian off spinner also blamed Sarfaraz Khan for leaking the news and believes that the talks in the dressing room should not come out at any cost. However, he urged everyone involved to sit and solve the whole issue.
"Being a senior player, it's our duty to give wisdom to youngsters. If he (Gautam Gambhir) has said this, that Sarfaraz has leaked the news, and if the player has indeed done so, then it's wrong. Dressing room talks should not come out in the open. You should sit and solve the matter," Harbhajan reckoned.
Sarfaraz Khan was in India's squad for the Test series in Australia but didn't play any matches. The 27-year-old has played 6 Tests so far and scored 371 runs at an average of 37.10 with one hundred and three fifties.

Harbhajan Singh compares India's current era with Greg Chappell
Harbhajan Singh further compared India's current era of cricket to that of the era when Greg Chappell was the coach. During that era, there was lack of communication between the players and coaching staff which led to the team's decline.
"Last six-eight months there is lot of rumours in Indian cricket. It's very important that there is coordination among players and coach. In the 2005-06 season, during Greg Chappell era the same thing happened," the former India spinner said.
In Greg Chappell's tenure, there was a fallout between the team's senior players and the head coach due to their varied opinions. Chappell tried to bring his own coaching methods which didn't quite work out in India.
As a result, India suffered some shocking defeats, most notably being the early exit in the 2007 ODI World Cup played in the West Indies. Chappell immediately resigned from the post after the fallout with the team's senior players.

IND vs ENG 3rd T20I, Match Prediction- Who Will Win Today?
IND Vs ENG 3rd T20I Overview

In addition to taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series, the "Men in Blue" improved their record to 26 victories in their past 28 Twenty20 International matches since January of last year.
A few months ago, the England squad, captained by Jos Buttler, defeated the West Indies 3-1 in the Caribbean series. However, a difficult defeat to hosts India in Kolkata and Chennai ended their winning run. It will be extremely difficult for England to avoid losing the five-match series if they suffer another loss right now.

Zaheer Khan says Rishabh Pant will be India's X-factor in CT
Zaheer Khan, the former speedster for India, has praised Rishabh Pant for his ability to get a century in a flash. On Day 1 in Edgbaston, the Men in Blue finished the day's play at 338-7, but the wicket-keeper batsman saved India from a dire situation by recording his fifth century of the year.
Even though India lost five wickets in the middle of the day, Pant faced the bowlers from the start. His strategy worked, as the England bowlers were under pressure and were unable to stop India's steady run flow. At the close of the day's play, Pant and Ravindra Jadeja helped India register a respectable score by adding a record partnership of 222 runs for the sixth wicket.
"If you look at Pant's career so far, he has already played so many impacting innings," the former India pace bowler stated on my11world when discussing the influence that Rishabh Pant has had on the Indian Test team thus far. Every one of his century has gone on to alter the outcome of the game. He still has a long way to go, but the fact that he can regularly score hundreds at this rate is a significant plus."
But Pant has never shied away from using his innately aggressive style, and the squad has now supported him as well. According to Zaheer Khan, Pant is the team's x-factor because of the aggressive and self-assured way he batted.
He said: "Rishabh Pant's batting has always had an x-Factor. Even when he was a U-19, he was well-known for this. His reputation was already established in such manner. You then have to continuously demonstrate your ability to perform at this level. His handling of the expectations gives him confidence in his abilities, even though there have been highs and lows thus far and may be in the future.
After edging one to the slip while attempting to play down the ground, Pant was dismissed at 146, just short of reaching the fastest 150 against England. However, at the time of writing, Ravindra Jadeja, who helped Pant from the other end, had recorded his 17th Test fifty and was just 17 runs away from reaching his first Test hundred away from home. "The management trusts Jadeja's batting, which is why you see balance in the team," Zaheer stated when discussing this. Since he has demonstrated that he is a specialist batter, I believe they see him in the same light. We have seen in this series itself that the contribution from the lower order has been rather considerable." After 73 overs, Team India finished the day at 338-7 (July 1). Mohammed Shami, who will begin the proceedings on Day 2, is presently seated in the center with Ravindra Jadeja.

Unless it is a World Cup year, such series are just about adding to players’ statistics and the board’s coffers. Not so this one. And the reason is Mohammed Shami. As he returns to bowl for India at the Eden Gardens tonight, all eyes will be on him. Is he fit and ready to lead India’s attack yet again? Can he bowl with the same pace and venom? Are the skill sets the same after 15 months of sitting out? Is the hunger the same and can he reproduce the magic? While T20 cricket is not always the best index, there is little doubt that we will have a fair idea from how Shami turns up at the Eden Gardens. With the Champions Trophy less than a month away and Jasprit Bumrah recuperating from injury, Shami’s form will have a huge bearing on India’s chances in Dubai. What his return to white-ball cricket also means is that the debate for Shami in Test cricket will be reignited. Sourav Ganguly has already said that Shami’s presence in England will help Bumrah and vice versa. “Bumrah benefits from Shami and also the other way round,” said Ganguly. “Shami being there in England can make a real difference for India.” While it is impossible to fathom if he is ready for the rigours of the red-ball game based on some T20I and ODI performances, Shami in the Champions Trophy should give us an idea. And the lead up to all of it starts tonight at the Eden Gardens. Shami, by every yardstick, is excited. “I have always said that I was born in UP, but made by Bengal,” he said at a Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) event on Monday. “Mohammed Shami became what he is today at the Eden Gardens. There can’t be anything better than wearing the blue jersey yet one more time at the Eden Gardens in front of my home fans. As a cricketer, you live for these moments.” For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Sourav Ganguly, Jhulan Goswami, Mithali Raj, and Mohammed Shami with others at the CAB event (PC: File) For someone who has worked the hardest, endured pain and yet not given up, this is a just reward. Now that he is fit to play, all Shami needs to do is concentrate on his game which has made him a brand in India. His presence on the field is his real identity and this injury will only harden him in the long run. With all that has happened in the last couple of months, Shami knows what it feels like to be in a corner with his credibility questioned. With ball in hand for India, one would expect him to put all his energies into his bowling and prove to Indian cricket fans his commitment to the sport. That he has received widespread support on social media since his name was announced in the squad is primarily due to his performances as an India cricketer in the 2023 World Cup. It is now time for him to do it all over again. What the events of the last 15 months may have done is harden Shami like never before. He now knows what adversity really means and how life tests an individual. As a sportsman who is often exposed to challenges of varied proportions, the injury is a life lesson that will do Shami the cricketer a world of good. He will now cherish every moment he is out there playing, and that can only benefit India. All the best, Shami. Tonight is about you. Italy will buy AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles for its F-35 fighters
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 03/18/2024 - 13:00 in Armaments, Military
The U.S. State Department approved the sale of AIM-9X Sidewinder air-to-air missiles to Italy, the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced.
The requested package of US$90 million includes the AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II+ missiles; containers; weapon support and support equipment; spare and repair parts; logistics support services and other related elements.
The contract, announced on Friday (03/15), specifies that RTX will be the main contractor. The sale also requires the approval of the U.S. Congress, which has been notified of the approval of the deal by the State Department.
According to the DSCA, the proposed sale will improve Italy's ability to face current and future threats by providing training missiles and guidance units for the Italian F-35 fleet in support of the NATO defense mission.
The AIM-9X Sidewinder missile, which entered service in November 2003, includes advanced infrared, short-range, air-to-air and surface-to-air tracking missiles. The Block II variant, which completed its first firing test in November 2008, has a redesigned fuser and a digital ignition safety device to improve ground handling and safety in flight.
