I often wonder what happened to Sejanus’s body. Was it burned? Buried in Twelve? Thrown somewhere in the land between the Districts to decompose and be eaten by all sorts of animals? Or was money enough for the Plinths to get it sent to the Capitol, or perhaps to Two, even though he was condemned for being a rebel? Was it treated with the gentleness he deserved, or the roughness that so often was reserved for him in life? Has anyone gone to visit him after, cried over it, brought him flowers, or any other reminder that he was loved and he was just a kid? Or has he been alone ever since?

My paperback edition of THG trilogy had gotten worn out from all the reading so I decided to get the new hardcover edition... They're so pretty!

I love that Finnick and Katniss’ relationship goes from mutual skepticism and minor dislike of one another to being each other’s emotional support emotionally-unstable besties where when one freaks out and has to be sedated so does the other

theres a poster of “women heros” in my ap world history class and i spotted katniss everdeen… that drawing is not my katniss everdeen dawg she is not pale like that😭 and the description is pretty ill fitting? It doesnt give justice as to why katniss was actually a hero… her volunteering was a selfless act and yes heroic, but she did start a revolution for the oppressed and took down two tyrants at 17 years old…. Maybe we should talk about that and not celebrate the fact that she participated in the killing of 22 kids when the whole point of the trilogy is that being a victor is NOT heroic😭

Katniss: idk if I love Peeta but I am disgusted by the suggestion that I would take a lover who is not him. I relate strongly with Finnick because he is grieving his lost love, Annie, the same exact way I am grieving Peeta. I am the man in the hanging tree reincarnated, as I would rather my lover (Peeta) die than face the evil in the world. Peeta is the only person I want to kiss and be held by at night. I will literally kill myself before I live in a world where he doesn't love me. But yeah, I just don't know how anyone knows how they feel about someone :/

this being The Only glimpse we ever get at seeing what peeta was doing in the arena before katniss came along is so crazy to me…

“(peeta) whispered my name in his sleep.” Yeah katniss he was pandering “this romance thing” for the audience sure…. definitely not having actual nightmares about losing you…….. and their last interaction before arriving in the arena having been a verbal fight the night of….. but peeta still went into the games knowing he was going to try his best to keep her alive in any way he could…. yes he’s carrying “this romance thing” on his shoulders because it’s real to him and he would die for you

In the second book when Peeta is this harsh on Katniss and Haymitch for getting drunk the night of the quell announcement at first it seems like he’s just being harsh for survival reasons, wanting them to be in peak condition so they can have a chance to survive.

But there could be a secondary reason. Peeta is one of the first ones in the books to mention the ways Katniss and Haymitch are similar. And yeah Peeta has self-esteem issues but at this point in Catching Fire he and Katniss are close enough that he knows their friendship helps her. So to come in the next morning and see Katniss mirroring their mentor must’ve been horrific for him because we know his plan was for her to survive and live a happy life without him and that doesn’t seem like a possibility even if his plan does succeed.
