 1. North East State Level Eligibility Test

North East State Level Eligibility Test, formally known as Assam SET or Assam SLET is an entrance exam conducted for post of lecturers on Humanities, Social Science and Science subjects. This exam is conducted only for North East Region.

Earlier, only NET Exam was conducted for post of lecturers. But now, after the proposal was put forward for North-East Candidates, North East SET Exam was also started.

Candidates having a Master Degree or equivalent Degree with at least 55% marks (50% for Schedules Cast (SC) /Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Person with Disability (PWD) category) are eligible for SET.

 2. NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test)

NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a Medical Entrance Exam conducted by CBSE for admission in MBBS/BDS Courses in India's Top Medical Colleges. But as per the latest news of NEET 2020 Exam, the exam will now be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency).

NEET Exam will be conducted on 03rd May 2020. It comprises of three subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates who fulfill eligibility criteria can register themselves on official website.

 3. UPSC Civil Services Exam

Civil Service Exam is conducted by UPSC for recruitment of candidates at various services like: IAS Indian Administrative Services), IFS (Indian Foreign Services), IPS (Indian Police Services) & IRS (Indian Revenue Services).

It is one of the toughest exams conducted in India. It has a success rate of only 0.1%-0.3% with lakhs of candidates appearing every year for this exam. In 2016, 24 candidates from North-East India have cleared the Civil Services Exam.

UPSC Civil Services Exam is conducted in two phases: Preliminary and Main Exam. Prelims Exam consists of 2 MCQ type papers: General Studies and Aptitude Test. Main Exam consists of 9 papers of the conventional type. After clearing both the phases, candidates will be called for personal interview round.

 4. JEE Exam

IIT JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is an entrance examination conducted for admission in UG Engineering and Architectural courses. It is considered the toughest engineering exam. JEE is conducted in two phases: Mains and Advanced.

JEE Mains Exam consists of three test papers: Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3. JEE Mains Paper 1 is conducted for admission in UG Engineering courses JEE Mains, Paper 2 for admission to B.Arch. course and Paper 3 for B.Planning courses.

JEE Advanced Exam consists of two test papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. But both these papers consists of three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. For admission to UG Architectural courses, candidates have to appear in JEE Advanced AAT.

 5. NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE)

NERIST Entrance Examination is conducted by North-East Regional Institute of Science and Technology for admission to Certificate, Diploma and Degree programmes in Engineering, Technology and Applied Science streams.

Engineering and Technology stream consist of three modules: Certificate, Degree and Diploma, each are of two years duration. Applied Science stream consists of two-year base module and four-year degree module.

NEE Exam is conducted in three levels: NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III. It is conducted in all the eight North-East States: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.

 6. Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE)

Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE) is a state level entrance exam conducted for admission to Engineering, Agriculture Science, Veterinary Science, Fisheries Science and other professional degree courses. It is conducted by Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE).

Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE) consists of four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. 50 MCQs will be asked in the exam which carry 100 marks.

 7. IBPS

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is a recruitment body which recruit and place candidates in a Banking Sector. IBPS conducts four exams: IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, IBPS RRB and IBPS SO Exam.

IBPS conducts these exams every year in two phases: Prelims and Main Exam. Candidates have to clear both the phases in order to get a banking sector job. After qualifying both the phases, candidates then will be called for personal interview round.

 8. NDA

National Defence Academy (NDA) Exam is conducted for those candidates who are willing to join Army, Navy or Air Force. NDA Exam is conducted twice a year: NDA I and NDA II in the month of April and September.

It is conducted by UPSC. Only unmarried male candidates can apply for NDA Exam. After qualifying NDA Exam, candidates will be then sent to NDA (National Defence Academy). There candidates will be trained for their respective services (Army, the Navy or the Air Force).

 9. SSC

SSC (Staff Selection Commission) is an organization under Government of India that recruit candidates for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.

To get placed in these posts, candidates have to appear for any of these SSC Exams: SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC GD Constable, SSC Stenographer, etc.

 10. SBI

SBI (State Bank of India) is a government owned multinational, public sector banking and financial services company. Every year SBI conducts three exams: SBI PO, SBI Clerk and SBI SO Exam. These exams are conducted for recruitment of the candidates in their organization.
