Explore Timeless Men's Suit Styles with a Modern Update in our Retro Remix Collection
Tumblr media
Introduction
Fashion, like a timeless melody, echoes through eras, weaving tales of elegance and self-expression. In this exploration, we venture into the captivating realm of men's fashion, embarking on a retro remix that transcends time. Picture the scene: classic tuxedos, versatile blazers, and regal Jodhpuri suits, each a chapter in the ever-evolving story of the well-dressed man. Join us as we navigate through the sartorial ages, blending the charm of bygone eras with a contemporary flair, creating a fashion fusion that stands as a testament to the enduring allure of classic men's suit styles.
Exploring Classic Suit Styles
Classic suits are the silent narrators of a man's style journey. Tuxedos, with their satin lapels and tailored perfection, exude an air of sophistication that transcends occasions. Blazers, on the other hand, offer versatility, effortlessly transitioning from formal settings to smart-casual affairs. And then there's the Jodhpuri suit, a timeless classic originating from the sandy terrains of Jodhpur, India, where royalty met elegance. Each style bears a unique insignia, contributing to the symphony of classic men's fashion.

As we traverse the corridors of fashion history, it's crucial to appreciate the evolution of these suits. The roaring twenties witnessed the birth of the modern suit silhouette, influenced by the Art Deco movement. The sixties introduced sharp lines and bold patterns, reflecting the spirit of a generation breaking free from conventions. Every era adds a layer to the classic suit narrative, creating a legacy that inspires the contemporary man to embrace the fusion of old and new.
Time-Traveling Through Fashion Eras
Tumblr media
To truly grasp the essence of classic men's suits, we embark on a journey through the defining fashion eras. The Gatsby-inspired extravagance of the twenties, with its sleek lines and lavish fabrics, sets the stage for timeless elegance. Moving forward, the fifties bring forth the concept of the well-dressed man, emphasizing tailored fits and polished aesthetics. The rebellious sixties redefine the suit, introducing bold patterns and unconventional styles that challenge the status quo.
Fast forward to the present day, where designers pay homage to these iconic eras by infusing modern twists into classic designs. The fusion of old-world charm with contemporary sensibilities gives rise to a new breed of suits that resonate with the dynamic lifestyle of the modern man. This journey through time serves as a compass, guiding fashion enthusiasts to navigate the vast sea of suit styles with an appreciation for their historical significance.
Modern Twists on Classic Designs
Tumblr media
In the ever-evolving landscape of men's fashion, the magic lies in the delicate balance between classic designs and modern elements. Contemporary designers, like skilled alchemists, weave innovation into the very fabric of traditional suits. Whether it's introducing unconventional materials, experimenting with patterns, or reimagining silhouettes, the result is a collection of suits that seamlessly bridge the gap between the past and the present.
Take, for instance, the resurgence of double-breasted blazers with bold, contrasting buttons—a nod to the sixties. The modern man can effortlessly incorporate this retro element into his wardrobe, creating a look that pays homage to the rebellious spirit of the past while embracing the confidence of today. The key is not to merely replicate but to reinterpret, allowing classic designs to breathe new life and relevance into contemporary fashion.
The Art of Suit Design
Tumblr media
At the heart of every well-crafted suit lies the art of design. The cut of a lapel, the choice of fabric, and the meticulous attention to detail—all contribute to the creation of a masterpiece. Today's designers draw inspiration from the rich tapestry of fashion history, infusing their creations with elements that resonate with the modern wearer.
The classic suit is no longer confined to rigid norms; it's a canvas for self-expression. Tailors and designers alike encourage men to embrace personalized touches, from selecting unique fabrics to incorporating custom embroidery or monograms. The result is a suit that not only fits impeccably but also reflects the wearer's personality, making a bold statement in a world saturated with mass-produced fashion.
Embellishments: Adding Flair to Timeless Elegance
In the realm of classic men's suits, embellishments play a crucial role in elevating the overall aesthetic. Imagine a black tuxedo adorned with intricate bead, zardozi, sequins, cutdana & Resham work along the lapels or a Jodhpuri suit featuring embroidered patterns that tell a story of cultural richness. These embellishments, whether subtle or bold, add flair and individuality to the ensemble.
Colors: The Palette of Expression
While classic suits often adhere to neutral tones, modern interpretations allow for a playful exploration of colors. Deep burgundies, rich blues, and forest greens become the backdrop for traditional styles, injecting vibrancy without compromising sophistication. The choice of color becomes a language of expression, allowing the wearer to convey their mood, personality, and style preferences.
Fabrics: Crafting Luxury and Comfort
The selection of fabrics is a defining factor in the art of suit-making. Classic suits traditionally favor wool for its luxurious feel and natural breathability. However, the modern man can explore a myriad of options, from lightweight linens for a casual elegance to velvets for a touch of opulence. The fabric becomes not just a textile but a tactile experience, enhancing both comfort and style.
Wedding Suits for Men
Tumblr media
Navigating the landscape of wedding suits requires a discerning eye for style and a nod to tradition. The modern groom seeks a balance between timeless elegance and contemporary flair, and the choices are as varied as the love stories they celebrate. A classic black tuxedo remains a perennial favorite for formal affairs, exuding sophistication and refinement.
For those seeking a departure from the conventional, a well-tailored Jodhpuri suit adds a regal touch to the wedding ensemble. The distinctive silhouette, characterized by a longer coat and unique detailing, sets the groom apart in a sea of traditional attire. It's a celebration of heritage and a testament to the enduring allure of classic men's suits, even in the context of modern love stories.
Jodhpuri Suits: A Timeless Classic
https://media.samyakk.com/pub/media/catalog/product/n/g/ng2958.jpg
Among the pantheon of classic suits, the Jodhpuri suit stands tall as a timeless classic. Originating from the princely city of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India, this regal ensemble marries traditional aesthetics with a modern silhouette. The Jodhpuri suit typically features a longer coat, asymmetrical design, and intricate detailing, making it a symbol of sophistication and cultural richness.
The unique charm of the Jodhpuri suit lies in its versatility. While it has its roots in Indian royal attire, modern interpretations allow men to don this regal ensemble for various occasions. Whether it's a traditional wedding, a festive celebration, or a formal event, the Jodhpuri suit adds an air of majesty to the wearer, making a statement that transcends cultural boundaries.
Black Tie Affairs: The Tuxedo Suit
Tumblr media
Formal occasions demand a level of refinement that only a well-tailored tuxedo suit can provide. The black-tie affair, characterized by its elegance and sophistication, sets the stage for the man who understands the power of impeccable dressing. The tuxedo, with its satin lapels, crisp white shirt, and bowtie, remains the epitome of formalwear, a symbol of timeless style that has endured for generations.
While traditionally reserved for events with a strict black-tie dress code, modern interpretations of the tuxedo allow for more versatility. A velvet or colored jacket, paired with black trousers, introduces a contemporary twist to the classic tuxedo, making it suitable for semi-formal gatherings and even cocktail parties. The key lies in understanding the nuances of formal dressing and adapting them to suit the occasion.
Waistcoats for Men: Elevating the Look
https://media.samyakk.com/pub/media/catalog/product/k/r/kr828.jpg
In the symphony of classic men's suits, the waistcoat plays a distinctive tune, elevating the entire ensemble. Also known as a vest, the waistcoat adds an extra layer of refinement, creating a polished look that transcends casual and formal boundaries. Historically, the waistcoat was an essential part of a man's wardrobe, and its resurgence in modern fashion signifies a return to timeless style.
For formal occasions, a three-piece suit comprising a jacket, trousers, and waistcoat exudes sophistication. The waistcoat introduces an element of tradition, harking back to an era when dressing well was a sign of respect and social standing. In more casual settings, a waistcoat paired with jeans or tailored trousers adds a touch of dapper charm, showcasing the wearer's attention to detail and sartorial finesse.
Designer Suits for Men
Tumblr media
The world of men's fashion has witnessed a paradigm shift with the rise of designer suits. Beyond the confines of traditional tailoring, designers have become architects of style, creating bespoke ensembles that redefine the boundaries of classic men's suits. From established fashion houses to independent designers, the landscape is diverse, offering a plethora of options for the discerning man.
Designer suits go beyond the conventional, experimenting with unconventional materials, avant-garde silhouettes, and innovative embellishments. The modern man, armed with a sense of adventure and an appreciation for the avant-garde, can explore these creations to curate a wardrobe that reflects his individuality. Whether it's a bold pattern, an unexpected color palette, or a unique blend of fabrics, designer suits offer an avenue for self-expression in the realm of men's fashion.
Retro Style Dhamaka
As we take a delightful detour into the past, the retro style dhamaka unfolds, revealing a tapestry of flamboyant patterns, bold colors, and daring fashion choices. The retro era, characterized by its audacious style and rebellious spirit, serves as a perennial source of inspiration for the modern man seeking to make a statement.
Picture the flamboyant patterns of the seventies—paisley prints, bold stripes, and geometric designs that echoed the free-spirited nature of the era. The disco fever of the eighties brought forth metallic fabrics, wide lapels, and extravagant accessories that defined a generation unafraid to break the mold. Each retro moment is a celebration of individuality, a reminder that fashion is a form of self-expression that transcends societal norms.
Fashion Icons: Mithun Chakraborty and Rajinikanth
In the pantheon of fashion icons, Mithun Chakraborty and Rajinikanth stand as timeless figures who have left an indelible mark on retro fashion. Mithun, with his disco-era style, brought a touch of glamour to the silver screen. The shimmering fabrics, wide collars, and bold accessories became synonymous with his on-screen persona, influencing a generation to embrace the audacious spirit of the seventies.
Rajinikanth, the superstar of Indian cinema, brought his distinctive style to the forefront. His on-screen characters, characterized by their larger-than-life presence, were often adorned in classic suits with a contemporary twist. Rajinikanth's fashion choices, both on and off the screen, became a cultural phenomenon, inspiring millions to embrace the blend of traditional and modern elements in their personal style.
Blend of Old and New: Styling Tips
As we navigate the intricate web of classic men's suit styles, it's essential to understand the art of blending the old and the new seamlessly. Here are some practical tips for the modern gentleman looking to create a style fusion that transcends time:
1. Mix and Match: Experiment with combining classic suit elements with modern separates. Pair a traditional blazer with contemporary trousers or vice versa to create a look that bridges eras.
2. Accessorize Thoughtfully: Vintage-inspired accessories such as pocket squares, cufflinks, and classic watches can add a touch of old-world charm to a modern suit. Choose accessories that complement the color palette and style of your ensemble.
3. Bold Patterns and Colors: Embrace the bold patterns and colors reminiscent of retro fashion eras. Whether it's a paisley pocket square or a striped shirt, infusing your outfit with a dash of audacity can elevate your style.
4. Custom Tailoring: Invest in bespoke tailoring to ensure your suits fit impeccably. Tailored suits not only enhance your silhouette but also allow for personalized details that reflect your unique style.
5. Layer with Waistcoats: Incorporate waistcoats into your wardrobe for a touch of traditional elegance. A well-fitted waistcoat can elevate the entire look, adding a layer of refinement to both formal and casual ensembles.
6. Experiment with Textures: Play with different fabric textures to add depth to your outfit. Velvet, tweed, and corduroy are timeless textures that can bring a vintage touch to your contemporary wardrobe.
7. Contemporary Color Palette: While embracing classic styles, experiment with a contemporary color palette. Neutral tones and muted hues can provide a modern backdrop for traditional suits elements.
Remember, the key lies in expressing your personality through your style. Don't be afraid to experiment and make the classics uniquely yours.

What to Wear?
If you are reading this then I swear this content will force you to think about you and your surroundings regrading "Fashion".
Tumblr media
So, in the era of the AI, Gen Z are messed sometimes what to wear among traditional or modern fashion closets. Why are we following each other? Why we can't be confident that we carried the best outfit which makes me comfort? So, my millennials you may talk to me to have a beautiful conversation about fashion of what to wear and where as well. If we talk about the golden era, the females and males were believes to covered ourselves with elegant clothes and the fabric and its color was made up of the nature (Insects like cocoons for silk, Vegetables and fruits for fabric coloring, stones were used to make ornaments, fashionable.) If I talk about India and its culture in intent of what to wear, people were using animal hair to knit by hands and make a garment to covered themselves in winters. Moreover, Silk was collected from cocoons to make silk threads to final raw fabric. Those were happy in their own inventions and they represents the work in front of their king of Area and offer them to buy and pay some money or food. Accordingly moving to the initial period of technology, machines were invented to prepare a fabric to proceed further till a final garment.
Tumblr media
So what are your views on it or you want to share some more information so let's connect. Now in world of AI people make customized dresses first and then make in real as final outfits. There are several folks who are sharing their ideas on social media all over the world and getting ideas from another one but yes, following each other in same ways of outfits looks like a School dress. Think about your Physical Appearance, Skin Tone, your preferences, make a unique fashion of cloths for what to wear.
Have your ever visited your tailor with having free time where you may share your own ideas to make a dress for you or you are following same pattern i.e. please prepare a shirt I don't have time you have my measurements and please deliver on a specific date? I request don't do that fashion if you want to make your dress customized outfit, then please think of it, do not follow same patterns. Not to worry, please go to the dresses of your flashback tradition or you may use the previous trends of 50's to 90's and convert those dresses in ongoing fashion.
Tumblr media
Not only this, have you ever faced your outfit get wrongly stitched by your designer? Not to worry, you may disclose it here. We are not going to make fun of you and your designer, instead of the we will suggest you that what to carry to make it good not the perfect one (You know what I mean). Well joke's apart, if you follow trendy fashion we can use some tricks to make the dress elegant or we can add different types of color and fabrics to make unique dress.
Never let someone judge you that what is carried by him or her. If someone is judging let them do. My dear friend you are getting noticed. Please will talk about you, sometimes they will do back-bitching but later they will follow you. And after getting your design so common it's a peak point that you need to change the style. You will become a leader of several for trend.
"The Old is Gold", and as per my perspective no one was to loose it, so why you do not follow some ancient period trends and make it mode and by doing this your grab everyone's attention (but please use eye catchy color not the eyes gone types). So boys what you think about it, can you make more efforts to change your color combinations while caring an outfit specially when you are going to a particular location. Please do not carry office Blazers while going to lunch with your love one and you are going a date. I know your are Gen Z and get messed between being civilized and somewhere lacking sophisticated, no need to worry, you may carry, semi-casual. But please always check the footwears what you have wore. For example, Sports shoes or sneakers always goes with casual dress and formal Lace-up boots going with pent shirt. I know you are already aware about it, and it will look like I am wasting your time, but please don't be lazy to do this, as your girl will notice you and will try to get lazy as well and this may generate gap among both of you. Similarly to girls as well.
Tumblr media
Being a stud not a classy thing, it is trend of new generation and here I am focusing on my generation of people. Surely I will share the tips with new generation but next time. So again coming to my point, which kind of your perspective have been created now? Are you going to notice your self while wearing a dress? Don't you want to save your era? Don't you want that the new Gen should follow you? You are the only once who can save your culture and you have seen both the centuries (20th and 21st). So what's on your mind? I know very well that you have adopted the new Gen trends, please share your part as well. BY doing this your elders can be proud on you that you are saving their traditions.
To illustrate several examples as per the countries in terms of what to wear. American traditional dress were Ponchos, Huipils, Flannel Shirts, Quadrille Dresses (Use those in new trends with some color contrast). Egyptians make some use of Shemaghs or Keffiyeh and wraprounds (Use of pyramids and sand textures while printing over fabric). France make some use of Aprons and Long skirts for female and Short Jackets or Vest and Breeches for male (You may use digital prints on it to make your dress mode). Indians have lot of options according to their festivals, nature, Palaces and their architecture.
Tumblr media
I agree, that you will say you know this and you are already aware about it, but as per current era, people are inventing new ideas and the traditions are getting extinct, folks are feeling shame if they talk like that, why not? Why we can't have conversation about our traditions? Our land? Our Cultures? Our Rituals? If we are not going to start to save this the What we will show to our descendants?
Tumblr media
So let's have conversation about fashion trend. I hope I am able to make you feel that you are a right person for what to wear, who can start this and will never let this end until your death.

The Marauders as designer runway looks.
This are designs that not necessarily they would wear, but the ideas behind the collections reminded me of them, below are brief explanations for the choices of the collections/outfits.
James - He is such a king, so I immediately thought about this collection.
He is bold, confident and drips luxury, all in the best way possible.
Dolce & Gabbana, The Alta Sartoria Event, Palazzo Vecchio, September 2020, look 80.
Also the concept of "family" in Dolce & Gabbana is core to its identity and so is for James.
I looked up Indian designers, but 1.I couldn't find something that fitted as well as the D&G 2.I didn't want to accidentally do something that might be offensive, since I'm not familiar with Eastern fashion and meanings.
Remus -Something very British, classic and low profile, but with a touch of conventionalism defiance, which is exactly the idea behind this collection.
Burberry 2014, Fall menswear collection, look 12
Burberry as a brand once had part in war and outdoorsy attires, which also fits the profile.
Sirius -This man screams Saint Laurent/Balmain/Ludovic de Saint Sernin, it was almost painful to choose.
He is disruptive, but classy. The all black look was a must.
Saint Laurent, Spring 2020 Menswear, Look 1
In this collection, Vaccarello had Mick Jagger as one of his major references, so the 70's concept of androginy took part.
"Vaccarello understands, as Jagger did, that a man never looks more masculine than when he’s in satin and sparkle"-Vogue.
All that with total old YSL essence.
Peter- I wanted real fur, murder and the suit that tells you that it goes with the current, but it is still just an amazing design. The whole gangster/hunter vibe and "youth falling to the wrong path" of the collection was very (I want to be part of the elite, but I'm not sure how) Peter.
Alexander McQueen Fall 2006 menswear, look 7
I want to add that prêt-à-porter collections were not considered, I wanted something with a bit more thought put behind it. Also, it's fast fashion.
The background colours are just the general colour of runway and I know I butchered the embroidery patterns, I'm sorry.

This is probably a weird question, but your recent drawing of Crash in Frye's outfit got me thinking. Is Crash supposed to be Indian, a different ethnicity, or just a general POC with no specific racial/ethnic identity attached?
I'm not trying to be weird about this, and I apologize if I worded this poorly or otherwise stumbled, ik this is very sensitive territory for a lot of people. I'm just curious because I love Suit-Nami and was wondering if Crash has any sort of non-Inkadian/Japanese heritage.
This is a great question! I've actually had this discussion with some friends before so I'll just relay what I've told them.
Obviously race/ethnicity works a bit differently in Splatoon (most characters are defined by their species rather than race) but I'll explain Crash's identity as if he's human rather than Inkling:
Crash is a mixed POC. Initially he was half Japanese, half African-American, but overtime I've been including more SE Asian inspiration into his design. The outfit I made for him yesterday is loosely based on formal menswear from Thailand.
Tumblr media
The shirt is a cropped phraratchathan with Frye's shawl being repurposed as a sash. (In hindsight his pants are too long, I'll fix that if I come back to this outfit.)
Lore-wise, both of Crash's parents are half-Japanese with the other half being part African-American and part Thai respectively. This would make Crash half-Japanese and a quarter American/Thai.
(Side note, but I know that ethnicities and nationalities don't realistically work in fractions like this. This is just the simpliest way I can explain Crash's heritage.)
In short: Crash's nationality is Japanese, his ethnicity is Black/Asian, his physical appearance is mostly Black, and his cultural heritage is predominantly Japanese with elements of Thai/SE Asian.
In even shorter: Crash is blasian.
By the way I know this question isn't about Tide, but for those that are curious: his nationality is also Japanese, but because he is an undocumented orphan he has no clear racial or ethnic background. You can probably infer that he is Asian based on his appearance and where Splatoon takes place, but otherwise he is meant to be ethnically ambigious.
Thank you for your question!

Elena Dawson: The Art of Artisanal Fashion
Today's blog post marks a special moment for me. Not only because it's my first on Shifting Patterns, but also because I deeply admire and enjoy the work of this designer. So much so that my wife and I even got married in her garments. Today, I want to introduce you to Elena Dawson.
Tumblr media
Elena Dawson, a London-born fashion designer for menswear and womenswear, keeps much of her personal life under wraps. There's no existing website anymore, and her former blog is no longer accessible. Only a Instagram account with a couple of posts and a contact email serves as a point of contact. It all somewhat reminds of the enigmatic Paul Harnden, doesn't it? But we'll get to that later. She studied Art and Fashion Design at the University of Brighton and worked as a seamstress after completing her degree. At that time, she said, "I draw on the knowledge I learned at the tailors still now in the way I make clothing."
In 2000, she co-founded the clothing line "Paul Harnden Clothiers" with her ex-partner Paul Harnden. She was an integral part of the design, concept, and business until 2009 with Paul Harnden, who was primarily known under the name "Paul Harnden Shoemakers" until then, when she decided to establish her own clothing and shoe label in East Sussex. Her studio is located there as well. Despite Dawson's departure, Paul Harnden's ready-to-wear collections continue to this day. Since 2009, the brand has naturally grown, but Dawson still produces her clothes and shoes herself, supported by a small team. Everything is produced in-house in multiple studio spaces, but all is handmade.
Tumblr media
The aesthetic of Dawson's work at Paul Harnden and her own brand has definitely evolved over the years. Paul Harnden, who is now known not only for his shoes but also for his blazers/jackets, coats, trousers, and shirts, has a rather clean cut and neatly sewn edges. On the other hand, Elena Dawson has a rather rough look and is known for her unfinished seams with dangling fabric scraps. It's sometimes hard to describe, but she has a very romantic, poetic, Victorian look that partly reminds me of Tim Burton movies.
When I put on one of her beloved blazers, I often feel like a part of Bertolt Brecht's Threepenny Opera, almost like a wardrobe from the 19th century. I own 2 blazers (linen and wool), 1 linen shirt, 2 pants (linen and cotton), and silk accessories from Dawson. My wife has a mix of a coat and dress. All her clothes are labelled with the classic "Elena Dawson - Made In England" label and the washing/material information written in her really unreadable handwriting with a Sharpie.
Tumblr media
The coats and blazers (mostly) feature beige/white cotton lining, and the classic look, often seen online, is achieved by rolling the sleeves backward, exposing the lining through the open seams. She works with a dress form, sculpturing everything, and only uses natural materials. Her favorites are English wool, Indian cotton, Irish linen, and Chinese silk. She describes her work as follows: "When you work on alterations you are really tearing the guts out of the garment, performing a sort of autopsy—you really get to see a garment at its most vulnerable point. Observing this state of semi-deconstruction in the making of a garment or shoe is what I like to retain in my finished work."
You'll rarely get the chance to buy her pieces online, as there are hardly any retailers offering her items online. She mentioned: "We don't do much press or social media work and we don't sell online at all. I'm not against that. It's just not the brand's main job." Elena Dawson limits the maximum order quantity and carefully chooses her retailers. She prefers to keep the brand small, and even on classic online platforms like Grailed, Vestiaire Collective, or eBay, you won't find many of her items used.
Tumblr media
I highly recommend visiting a retailer near you for the experience alone and trying on the clothes in-store. In my case, it's Harvey's in Berlin. However, the most well-known point of sale is probably Dover Street Market in London, with whom she has a strong relationship, as Dover Street Market has actively supported her brand from the beginning, granting her a significant presence there. In Tokyo, I was also able to find her pieces at DSM and at the Comme des Garcons Pocket Store.
The result is garments full of personality that evolve over time alongside one's own personality, incomparable to any other looks consumed and worn nowadays. Each piece, crafted by her hands, is unique, and I'll tell you, the first time I wore an Elena Dawson blazer at Harvey's in Berlin, it resonated with me. The look, the weight, the fit… it felt like a second skin, and over the course of 2 years, seeing how it aged with me, it became more like an extension of myself each day.
Tumblr media
Here's to Elena — may your artistic journey continue to inspire and captivate for years to come!

okay i think i finished my danny temple/krait design
Tumblr media
the concept is during some Crisis he off handedly mentions "wow everything is so terrible maybe we're already in the Kali Yuga" and his defected kobra cultists are like :O
so now mainline kobra has them all marked as Double Heretics bc they think it's time to start improving the world into the Krita Yuga
Kraits are a species that are both deadlier than Cobras and also eat other snakes, they symbolise "we're stronger than Kobra and will kick their ass"
design notes/references under the cut
the semi-geometric gradient and some of the general shaping is inspired by original concept sketches I found
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the hood references his original headpiece and, although it's mostly hidden by the coat, I worked the stomach diamond into the design
Tumblr media
the overcoat is inspired by Indian menswear, primarily achkan coats

If you're comfortable with it, I'd love to know your inspiration for the clothing design in your recent art piece :> I really love Dorian's outfit in particular!
Hi, of course! I don’t do outfit designs very often but I did have some inspiration for each character.
For Dorian I was looking at traditional Indian menswear, specifically a sherwani, dhoti pants, a dupatta stole, and some pretty shiny mojari shoes.
For Iron Bull I looked at some Mongolian traditional clothing, since I feel like there’s some similarities to Bulls in-game armor. I was looking at some deels, especially fancy fur-lined silk ones.
For Adaar I was going mostly off of the Antaam-Saar in-game, since that’s what I imagine him wearing most of the time, and he’s kinda stubborn about not wanting to dress up so I think they compromise with a slightly fancier version of his normal clothes. I also imagine his day-to-day armor being a lot like the Asaarash horse armor, you can’t get him to put a shirt on but he keeps tying more little armor plates to himself like a lunatic.
And then for Lavellan I was looking at baroque and other 17th century fashion, since he’s an Orlesian bard, and I was trying to play with pairing differently gendered clothing pieces to create something playful. (Also was just so excited to get to draw a ruff and codpiece lol)
I don’t know much about outfit designs or historical fashion so I probably made many mistakes but I wanted them all to look dapper :-)
I hope that’s helpful?

CityVibes: A trendsetting multilayered facade with ornaments in #Jaipur, India by Newness Architecture @newnessarchitecture. Photography: Bharat Aggarwal @bharataggarwalphotography. CityVibes is an Indian ethnic menswear brand in India that sells menswear for all festivities and their flagship store’s entrance facade is designed by newness, an architecture firm based out of the city of Jaipur, India. It is located on the busy Tonk Road. During our first meeting with the client at the site, they mentioned that they wanted to make a statement and create a captivating facade that awed its viewers. Therefore, it became clear to us that we had to break away from the stereotype of the predominant Rajput architecture of Rajasthan and make the store stand out… #india #facade #архитектура www.amazingarchitecture.com ✔ A collection of the best contemporary architecture to inspire you. #design #architecture #amazingarchitecture #architect #arquitectura #luxury #realestate #life #cute #architettura #interiordesign #photooftheday #love #travel #construction #furniture #instagood #fashion #beautiful #archilovers #home #house ‎#amazing #picoftheday #architecturephotography ‎#معماری (at Jaipur, Rajasthan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjjR7MrsZ3Y/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
