“Netflix made a huge amount of profit this last quarter,” Fonda told a group of gathered reporters. “Have you seen the houses they live in? Have you seen the vacations they take? I don’t know about Netflix, but just in general.”
She continued, “Income inequality has never been greater since the Gilded Age. … And that’s why unions are so important. That’s why there’s a real rise in strikes and unionization in all different sectors. And what we’re fighting for here, it’s really for all the workers in all the sectors. We have to stand together and we have to make unions stronger.”

"Isn't it weird that people living paycheck to paycheck are supposed to have months worth of savings for emergencies while billion dollar corporation are so poorly managed they're on the brink of bankruptcy after a week of reduced profits."

the exorbitant price of attending higher education in the us is literally to keep lower income families doing menial work or to enter into crazy debt bc of the predatory nature of student loans.. not to even mention the fact that lower income students don’t have the same resources or understanding as their wealthy counterparts

People out here making fae deals for money that people I know personally in tech make as their normal salary.
On second thought it's not that different
A fae being stands before you.
“Every day you will receive one thousand dollars in your bank account. But every time you lift a glass to your lips to take a drink, you will hit your front teeth on the first try. Every. Time. Do you accept this deal?”

Across the [US], red states are poorer and have more teen mothers, more divorce, worse health, more obesity, more trauma-related deaths, more low-birth-weight babies, and lower school enrollment. On average, people in red states die five years earlier than people in blue states. Indeed, the gap in life expectancy between Louisiana (75.7) and Connecticut (80.8) is the same as that between the United States and Nicaragua. Red states suffer more in another highly important but little-known way, one that speaks to the very biological self-interest in health and life: industrial pollution.

Some people think that filthy rich people are smarter or even innately better than the rest of us.
In reality, a majority of them got rich simply by choosing their parents carefully. d’oh!
And considering what they spend their money on, a sizeable number of them are unfathomable idiots. That’s why they need "legacy admissions" to get into college; either that or a parent rich enough to bribe the admissions director (see: Trump, Fred).
Serial tax breaks for the filthy rich by Republicans don't help the economy other than to encourage ridiculous spending on opulence, status symbols, and competition for attention.
Putting Republicans in power by neglecting to vote or by wasting votes on impotent third parties only increases income disparity in the United States. The only way to curb Republican excess is to vote Democratic for the long haul – there is no other way.
Register and vote in every election. There's no such thing as an unimportant election.

Self-made billionaires are self-generated illusions. Donald Trump is a prime example.
Trump is a nepo baby who got into college and obtained a military deferment through graft and ended up with a huge bundle from Daddy Fred. He squandered his wealth on projects which showed poor judgement.
It was TV producer Mark Burnett who rescued Trump by making him the star of The Apprentice. More importantly, Trump's part in the series and offshoot gave tens of millions of viewers the false impression that he was actually a savvy genius businessman rather than a loser who declared bankruptcy six times in real life.
Enormous wealth isn't an indicator of virtue or genius. More often than not it is a sign that you are a good con (wo)man or that you were very good at choosing your parents.
Poor people who idolize the filthy rich often end up as victims in scams which only make the rich richer. *cough* Trump University *cough*
