hold on, the author of tokyo revengers is a man?? idk why i was absolutely sure it was a woman. maybe the art style reminded me of someone else. maybe it's the chara designs. since i associated the series a lot with fujoshi and women who are into 2D men i thought the author would be one of them

me again, thanks for replying! that all sounds really cool! I did Irish dance for about the same amount of time as you (I wanna say 10 years?), also super casually. and doing it at a Renaissance Faire sounds awesome! I bet there'd be a lot more ambiance than just in a regular theatre.

but in jive (so far) I've basically always had my dance partner holding my arms or hands, so I haven't had to worry about my arms, lol. HOWEVER when I'm just dancing without trying to dance any particular style, though it doesn't look Irish at all to *me*, I've had people see me dance and ask, "are you an Irish dancer? your dance style looks like it," so. y'know. mea culpa. also in any kind of style of dance I've been consistently told to stop standing kind of on tiptoe and someone recently suggested that that might also be Irish dance influence?

I would love to learn to lindy!! it looks so fun, and I've been to events before where people have asked me to dance and then it turns out that they don't jive and I don't lindy so it just doesn't happen :(

Thats so interesting! I haven't had people clock me as an Irish dancer while I'm just movin' and groovin' but I can definitely see it bleeding into that kind of stuff. I do know I struggle sometimes with more grounded dance styles (head in hands. hip hop) because in my mind I must be super light on my feet and all that lol.

Lindy is definitely tons of fun from my very (very) limited experience, so I'd def recommend it if you can!

the thing with ian o*sley is so annoying because i think the kids have been coached to not bring up indigenous culture and representation a lot in interviews which is really not fair for kiawentiio ): she should be able to talk about that. in fact the kids hardly bring culture/rep up at all it's always only ddk and paul sun-hyung lee bringing it up

Listen it wasn’t the most baffling thing in the world when Netflix canceled Lockwood and co even tho it performed well bc let’s be real, Netflix will basically cancel a show if it breathes wrong…

But do you think that Netflix actually canceled Lockwood and co bc around the time it aired they’d aquired the rights to dead boy detectives (a show with a competingly similar premise to Lockwood and co that has Neil Gaiman attached who’s had two very successful shows in the last few years with Netflix and Amazon prime)… because I do.

Like to me that’s the missing puzzle piece of what happened there
