Pains of the past

In my head all I'm hearing are the screams of pain and torture from long ago. 

They sound like children to me. Maybe 14 years old...?

I can't help but think its from the Salem witch trial days where my then-older brother was murdered.

Or from Egyptian times where I found the absolute love of my life dead in her home, from poison she had taken. Her body cold to the touch and my heart completely ripped out. I wish I could have stopped something. maybe the ringing in my ears would be quieter.
