With a whopping 64 gals who are cyborgs, robots, programs, and more this is shaping up to be a fierce and fun competition!

Here are some rules and such before I give you a written list of contenders and their schedules.

RULES.

Play nice with each other. No harassment or bullying of any kind will be tolerated. It’s a silly little competition! Stay silly! Stay kind!

Think to yourself: "is what I'm about to type about my opponent something I'd like to hear about my favorite blorbo or fandom?" If the answer is "no" don't type it. Hype up your blorbo rather than trash-talk the other gal.

Propaganda is welcome and encouraged (so long as you're following rules 1 & 2). If I miss your propaganda don't hesitate to hop in my inbox and point it out to me. I don't always get notifications on this tumblr account for some reason.

HERE BE SPOILERS (potentially). I don't know every fandom in this tournament but given the nature of these sort of characters, spoilers are highly likely for character reveals! By continuing to follow this blog and participate in this tournament you're consenting to seeing spoilers. I would tag them but I genuinely don't know which characters are spoilers and which aren't.

Play nice with me, your friendly neighborhood tournament runner. I am not a professional tournament runner. I am just another person on the internet with feelings. Don't come flying into my inbox to yell at me about things like seeding, or that your specific blorbo didn't get in, or that you think a certain character doesn't count. I will just delete and block messages that I feel are too hostile toward me. I've seen the kinda stuff other poll runners have had to put up with and I don't want to deal with it here. I just want to have fun!

Share a line from your recent work about love or hatred

This has been in my inbox for ages as I tried to find/write something good enough to answer with. I think I finally have something that works. It's not exactly recent, but it's something I'm working on rewriting after time spent away from it.

Yashira hesitates, backing up so her back is pressed against Orianna’s legs then glancing up at her new big sister. Orianna sighs heavily, resting a reassuring hand on Yashira’s uninjured shoulder. “It’s alright, alsghyr.” Nemeia smiles at the term of endearment, even as Orianna glares at her for it. Clearly, Orianna’s plan to not get attached to her new little sister was failing miserably.

For a little bit of context, Yashira's newly adopted and Orianna is her new older sister. Orianna doesn't like to get close to anyone though, and she's trying to do the same now, but it's not working. She's getting attached.

Champ Design Breakdown: Veigar, the Tiny Master of Evil

Veigar is the kind of champion that everyone laughs at when they first see him, but whom they quickly learn to respect. Though diminutive in size and lacking the bombast of early-game champions like Syndra or Orianna, the Tiny Master of Evil nonetheless becomes a terrifying foe with enough time. This theme of scaling up to become strong is central to Veigar’s identity, and he plays it up quite well in-game.

I am evil! Stop laughing! 

As with the other yordles, Veigar exists in a bit of an odd spot lore-wise. His bio still has his old backstory, but the blurb on his Universe page gives us an indication of how Veigar might have changed from his previous incarnation.

Either way, the Tiny Master of Evil used to be a free-spirited yordle living in Bandle City with nary a hint of darkness. Regardless of the version you prefer, he nonetheless becomes seduced by the power of dark magic and voraciously studies the subject in an attempt to become the strongest mage on Runeterra. Though most still underestimate his strength, Veigar is definitely not one to be trifled with if he brings his full might to bear.

Veigar is indeed a powerful mage, but is quite laughable upon your first impression of him. I’d expect him to be of little note in the early game, but to eventually scale up and become a nightmare to face later.

I will swallow your soul!

The Tiny Master of Evil pretty much hits his thematic notes to a T He’s laughably bad in the early game, barely capable of inflicting damage on enemies, but as time progresses his power grows stronger. By the time the 40-minute mark rolls around, Veigar is melting opponents in a single rotation and chunking out tanks with nary a thought. If only you’d have respected him when he was still weak.

Core to Veigar’s power curve is Phenomenal Evil Power (P) and Baleful Strike (Q). The former gives him theoretically limitless ability power so long as he lands his abilities, and the latter lets him actively farm AP by killing minions. This means Veigar has all the tools he needs to hit face-melting amounts of ability power by the time lategame rolls around, and lets him feel weak early while remaining strong late.

The rest of Veigar’s abilities are a little contrived, but they at least have a theme and help convey Veigar’s devastating magical talent. Dark Matter (W) might tickle early in the game, but will eviscerate foes hit by it later. Primordial Burst (R) lets Veigar simply delete carries with a single blast, and Event Horizon (E) gives him some measure of control over the battlefield. There’s no particular lore point that they reference, but at least they’re all space-themed and follow Veigar’s general flavor of growing in power over time.

Even death trembles in my presence

Veigar does lose some points for the contrived nature of his kit, but his core playstyle propels him to a passing grade regardless. You feel mocked and unloved at the beginning of the game while your opponent pushes you in again and again, but by the time lategame rolls around you stand taller than any of your teammates as you dish out a truly astronomical level of damage. His power curve forces players to experience Veigar’s theme, and that alone is enough to give him near-top marks.

Final Grade: A. If you’re looking for a well-designed champion, look no further.

Wishlist

Orianna grew up on the streets. She's never had a parental figure or even grandparent-like figure in her life. I think it would be nice for her to have that. Someone who genuinely cares about her, unconditionally. Whether they express that through a soft love or a tough love, would be up to you. But it would be fabulous to see my girl having someone like that in her life. Someone willing to guide her, and let her be a careless young woman for once in her life.
