Omiya-no-Me-no-Kami
I was reading volume 2 of Inari Konkon Koi Iroha and decided to look up the orgins of Omiya-no-Me-no-Kami. According to mythopedia, Omiyo-no-Me-no-Kami is another name for Ame-no-Uzume.

I am reading Volume 4 of the Inari Konkon manga and there were several foxes who transformed into humanoid forms with the fox ears and tails that were helping Ukanomitama prepare for her arranged marriage.
Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha (いなり、こんこん、恋いろは)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Review: 10-10
– Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha is certainly a ‘cute’ anime with a beautiful message in both the manga (which I am currently reading) and the anime series.
The series features the Fushimi Inari-taisha, an Inari Shinto Shrine dedicated to the five Inari gods (Sarutahiko, Omiyanome, Tanaka, and Shi) and features the main deity: Uka-no-Mitama-no-Kami whom befriends a human girl named: Inari Fushimi whom (like her brother), can see her and the kitsune spirits.
I’ve seen many ‘Shinto’ related anime; and of all the series that I have watched, this series follows very closely to the traditions and famous people and places in Shinto.
Unlike traditional kitsune anime, this one does not have half human/fox beings. It follows closely with the idea that the foxes remain as foxes. Only in the manga does it show Kon (Inari’s familiar) to take the human/fox form.
Another aspect that I like of this series is the cause-and-effect that is illustrated with Inari actually becoming a God. I just wish that they had concluded the story as the manga had concluded it.
I hope that one day, they will add a second season; but that is highly unlikely as the series is concluded at only 11 episodes.
The only thing that I didn’t like about the series (or manga) is the concept design for Amaterasu–seemed I little brash.
Soundtrack Worth Listening To? : Yes, Takeshi Senoo adds a classical/traditional Japanese tone to the soundtrack.
Favorite Characters: Uka-no-Mitama-no-Kami & Inari plus all the cute kitsunes like Kon!

Closing thoughts on Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha
This had been on my watch list for years and I was pondering if I should watch it, or just delete it since nothing about it seemed that interesting and I had no recollection why I even added it to the list in the first place. Like, do I expect magical girls in it, or it to be like, really good?
Since it’s only 10 episodes I ended up watching it, and the answer turns out to be... neither really, but let’s talk about it here a little anyway. The premise is that the typical dumbass heroine gets divine powers from a goddess, with which she can transform into other people. The transformation is played like a magical girl henshin so I suppose that’s how it ended up on my list but other than that there’s really nothing else to do with the genre and the show is like a light hearted vanilla romance thing with some fantasy elements. The goddess is a fan of otome dating sims, if that gives you an idea of the tone.
Since I’m not big on dumbass heroines or romance stories I didn’t get much out of this, but this might be worth checking out if you want a story where the conflicts are silly and easily solvable (like three girls who share a brain cell want to be friends, but angst over the idea that the other party hates them so they have drama over it for and episode and then talk it out and become besties) and the tone remains light. The most notable thing to me was that for once the fat girl’s (or at least less skinny than the typical anime girl) character had nothing to do with food, which is pretty rare for an anime in my experience.
