“Yes, I think we are. As my kin I ask you, Eris G. Eagan, to bare witness. Do you have any objections? Do you accept your charge?” 

“No objections and I accept the right of the witness.”  

“Io.. I know we still have a lot to learn about each other but I promise to try and show you patience and kindness for as long as you’ll have me.” 

“Wesley.. I don’t even know what to say or if what I could come up with would do it justice. Just know I am yours and that I love you.”

“Are you still sure you want this? I’ll be taking you away from most of your family.” 

“Yeah.. yeah I am.”

“Damn Inara’s really grown hasn’t she?” 

“Starting primary this year. Think we’re going to try for another once we get there. She really wants a little sibling.” 

“What else are you going to do there? Before I dropped out of Uni we toured one of those settlements. It was an older model but still it didn’t have much in the way of infrastructure.” 

“It will have probably more than your standard colony but yeah... really going to have to be on top of my birth control.”
