It really, REALLY depends on who it is.

The mer-boys are extremely territorial - including over the very few they allow remain in their home. If it’s someone they recognize as ‘theirs,’ then Moondrop would probably make some “discreet” moves to save them, leaving them on the bay confused and tired as all hell.

Sunrise is a little different, as in he’ll just swim right up and grab ya. YOUR problem if you get scared.

Bitterly, Randall wished he could've heard what she had to say: He wished, even from his place six feet beneath her, he could've heard everything she told his little grave, for he would've hung on her every word. He wished he could've come back somehow-as a ghost, as a vampire, it didn't matter-so that he could keep her company. So that she wouldn't have to be alone.

"Did you...did you ever think I'd ever...come back, the way I did?"

He couldn't help but ask this-maybe because it distracted him from the horror of seeing his own grave, maybe because he was genuinely curious: He supposed, given that vampires existed, anything was possible, but even so, he wondered if she ever considered the notion that his spirit would be...reborn, someday. Reincarnated.

Thinking about it more, brow furrowing, he wondered if his spirit had ever been reborn before now, restless from his untimely death so long ago...perhaps he had lived a hundred lives, all of them unhappy and unfulfilling, only for him to finally land on the chance to be with her again. Maybe, now that they were reunited, now that they had found one another again, his soul could finally rest easy.
