Psycho - Chapter 15+16
Chapter 15
-Flashback-
"What's your dream?" Seohyun asked like a small toddler while taking a large loud sip of her last banana milk.
"My dreams?" Seungmin asked, remembering that he had a dream once. That unfortunately once got ruined.
"You're from Busan. So, you must've come here for a reason," Seohyun said.
"My dream..." he let out a deep sigh, and he continued, "Was to be a singer?"
"A singer? Like an idol?" Seohyun asked surprised with her mouth wide open.
"Kinda," Seohyun replied.
"Ohh, what made you quit?" Seohyun enquired.
"I just realized that it wasn't for me. Being an idol comes with a lot of baggage," Seungmin said sadly.
"I guess it must be difficult for you," Seohyun said.
"What's your dream?" Seungmin asked curiously.
"I don't think I had anything called a dream. I just never figured out what I wanted to become and what my dream was," Seohyun sighed. Her life didn't have many intentions to live. She was just simply here to satisfy other people's needs, making them happy. But no matter how much she tries to make people satisfied, she couldn't make others happy.
"I guess you need more time. To find what makes you, truly 'you'" Seungmin comforted her.
"Maybe, but I tried so many things," Seohyun said desperately.
"I got a question?" Seungmin said.
"Go on,"
"Do you wanna see me sing?" Seungmin asked.
"Well, of course," Seohyun answered.
"I've never seen you sing."
"Come to that cafe near your school tomorrow evening. I sing at that cafe most of the time," Seungmin told her.
"Yayyyy, I'll be there the moment school ends," Seohyun said cheerfully.
"Don't get your hopes too high up. Because I'm not that guy that you go crazy over," Seungmin mocked.
"Excuse you. I am not that crazy over that boy band," Seohyun said a bit annoyed.
"This could be another reason Jun-seo broke up with you. You ramble about the boy band too much and even I can't handle it," Seungmin stated not knowing it would make Seohyun upset.
"Seriously? You do know that it isn't something to joke about?" Seohyun said upset.
"I'm sorry, I'll try to control my words," Seungmin apologized.
"You better do,"
"Don't you think it's getting too late? You better go back home soon," Seungmin said.
"It is late, but I need to get my banana milk. They're my priorities," Seohyun said as she took the last sip of her banana milk.
"You're just another version of a toddler," Seungmin mocked.
"Oh my gosh, Jeon Seungmin, did you just–?" Seohyun said surprised.
"What?" Seungmin asked confused.
"Did you just call me cute?" Seohyun asked making Seungmin shy.
Seungmin blushed a deep shade of red.
"N-no. Why should I?" Seungmin stuttered.
"Because you called me a toddler, and toddlers are cute," Seohyun stated.
"Seriously? That's it. I'm going home," Seungmin said still shy.
"But whyyyyy? I can't go home alone; don't you call me a toddler? Toddlers can't go home alone," Seohyun stated.
"Then hurry up,"
"But I wanna stay a little bit longer, please," Seohyun said while doing random aegyo.
"Come on, get on me,"
"Why?" Seohyun said confused.
"Because, you whining so much, so I'ma give you a piggyback ride," Seungmin said.
-Flashback end-
"Ahah! The cafe," she exclaimed. She had remembered about the time Seungmin told her where he worked. She might have the chance to find him there, but today, it was too late. She had bumped into him earlier when she was going out for a walk, and from what she saw, he didn't look the best.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll have the chance to talk to him and to apologize. But what if tomorrow would never come. I wished everything would change, and things would turn back around at midnight. If only then, I wouldn't have repeated my mistake.
She started to sob, knowing that he wouldn't forgive her for what she did to him. Tears dripped down her eyes and she wished someone was there to comfort her but no one was there, and no one will ever be. She cried until her eyes were red and puffy until she slowly drifted off to sleep.
-Seungmin's POV-
Seungmin lay on his bed as he drifted in his own thoughts.
She was my only source of happiness and now it's gone. I should've not been so angry at her. But now I don't know where she is or whether she is fine.
He hoped she was fine and he wished that he could see Seohyun again.
But he knew there was a small chance of seeing her again.
Chapter 16
< Seohyun's POV >
Waking up, endlessly hoping the word "sorry" would change things between us. I guess I was wrong... In the city of Seoul, wanting things that we couldn't even imagine getting. Working like robots, every night and every day. Those days were endlessly repeating waiting for the day to end.
< End of POV >
Seohyun woke up and got dressed, with full anticipation and hope to find Seungmin. She looked at the mirror and gave herself one last check before heading out. The walk there was quiet and lonely. Walking past parks and cafes where they worked endlessly to find Jun-seo. But she knew that he was looking out for her, wherever she went, but she didn't know where he was or how he had done it.
Seohyun reached the cafe panting from exhaustion. Wanting to hear Seungmin's voice singing her favorite songs, she rushed over to the back of the cafe where Seungmin usually will be, when she heard a familiar sound.
You leave me feeling seasick baby.
I'm stuck inside a dream as my reality.
It spins me around and drives me crazy.
As if the moon's up high in the middle of the day.
If my fate I was alone,
Without knowing you're my home.
Wouldn't have lasted this long,
Lost at sea.
Seohyun gasped in the realization that it was indeed Seungmin's voice. But what surprised her most was that he was singing the song she had always listen to when she was alone, sad, or simply tired of the world and the universe, when she wanted the universe to stop and listen to her.
She stood there in the corner far away from the stage, listening to the song as Seungmin sang it with a deep, soothing voice.
Finally, when the song ended, the whole cafe was flooded with cheers and claps.
"Seungmin!" Seohyun shouted running towards him.
"What do you want?" Seungmin said with a cold voice, and the smile on his face was gone.
"I was just here to apologize for what happened the other day. I guess I was caught up with something earlier,"
"Give me some time...I don't want to talk about it right now," he said and walked away, "Oh, and I thought you didn't need me,"
Those words hit Seohyun hard, she never knew someone as kind as he could be so unforgiving. But after what she had done, she knew that it was the only thing she would've gotten back. If she was Seungmin, she would be like him too. After all the words she said to him Seohyun knew he was hurt and it would take some time for him to forgive her. So he let out a deep sigh but her mind was on everything. She wanted to see Jun-seo and missed him so much for the past few days. She wanted to get things back on track with Seungmin. She was tired and worn out from all the work that everyone and everything had put her through. The people in school would never stop bothering her. The bosses at her workplace treated her horribly while some pitied her with sympathy.
Some people hated her, while some people had pitied her. They looked at her with pity like she was somebody that was born and raised on the streets. Everybody knew she was from a rich family and everyone knew how powerful her family was. Her family and their business were not to be messed up with, her parents were the powerhouse of South Korea along with another family who was as rich as them. But at the end of the day, nobody knew how mistreated she was. Everybody thought it was her fault she turned out this way. Everybody was blinded from the truth that hurts her.
Suddenly, a message notification popped out that brought her back to reality from her thoughts.
Seungmin: let's meet up at the park in front of the convenience store tonight.
Seohyun: really?
Seungmin: yeah, so don't make me change my mind
Seohyun: k, see ya soon
Seohyun let out a squeal, making everybody on the street look at her. She couldn't care less about what other people thought of her at this moment. She was happy that she was going to get to talk and apologize to Seungmin. She was so hyped that she immediately got ready and waited patiently at the store.
But she was still unsure whether a person like Seungmin would forgive her after all the thing she had said to him or not...
Well, I'll just have to wait and see she thought.
Time passed inchmeal and her thoughts about Jun-seo and Seungmin started to scramble in her mind.
Then, something made her concentrate. She saw someone who looked like Seungmin heading towards her. She knew it was her only chance to make things right and she's going to try as much as she can to make things normal.
Seohyun walked up to the person to find out that...
