Your soulmate's name is tattooed on your skin

you live in a world where everyone over the age of 16 has a name written on their body somewhere, belonging to their soulmate

always an exciting day, and you were ecstatic as you searched your body in the mirror to find the words as they popped up

soon, along your collar bone, the name you were looking for finally appeared

Touya Todoroki

you had heard of the todoroki family, Endeavor was the number 2 hero after all, and you knew he had children. Possibly this soulmate was one of them?

however you found very little information on his children's identities, but you were hopeful that you would find something eventually

however, you do eventually find a few articles from a few years ago that tell you the worst news you could imagine - touya todoroki had died in a fire

it's been years now, you're in your early 20s, and have mostly accepted the fact that you'd never get your soulmate. you hoped to find someone one day you could still love like one, but most people aren't super into dating someone with a visible reminder that they don't belong together

over these years, you've made your way into being a small villain as well. no one serious, it happened mostly out of necessity, but you're a villain nonetheless

which helps lead you to an almost dorky looking little group of villains, rightfully called the league of villains to keep up with the dorky appearance

none of them really seem all that serious, kind of just seem like a bunch of people who have no where else to go, which you can't judge them for

toga, a cute younger girl who had quickly turned friendly with everyone there, was fascinated with the idea of soulmates. you didn't blame her, she had only recently gotten her name, but this led her to asking everyone if they had met theirs yet, what their names are, anything about them.

most people didn't want to talk about it, and the ones who did didn't have anything interesting to say. your leader insisted that soulmates were a waste of time, and the emo looking dude by him agreed

you felt bad that toga wasn't getting the conversations she was looking for though, and you decided you'd show her yours.

"Touya todoroki? isn't that that pro heros last name? Do you think your soulmate is a hero?"

you shook your head, smiling sadly as you told her "no, he's been dead for years. never even met the dude"

she frowned, feeling sad for you, and changing the convo made you miss the wide eyed stare directed at you from across the room

dabi, who had caught your name earlier but blew it off as a coincidence since you only said your first name, was actually stunned

when he was younger, he dreamed of a happy life with his soulmate, but after waking up from the coma he barely ever spared a thought about them

now, here you were, right in front of him and clearly sad about the idea that you didn't have a soulmate

and for the most part, he was so fucking grateful that you had no way of knowing who he was. hearing his name made the smallest part of him want to get to know you, but he has more important things to do. plus, realistically, he doesn't know you. he doesn't owe you anything

so he never said anything. never even gave a hint of who he was. you two did get close over time, always relying on one another for help and support

it wasn't until probably a year later when in a fight dabi gets badly wounded, he's unconscious, and you're panicking, where things begin to unravel

he clearly has a huge gash in his torso, and your main focus is stopping the bleeding, so you cut open his clothes as you need to and begin fixing him up as best as you can

in the middle of doing this, you see what looks like a tattoo along his ribs. and you think nothing of it, till you realize it's his soulmate mark. he's never mentioned anything about his soulmate, and you couldn't help your twinge of jealousy at the idea of someone out there being his soulmate.

even if you couldn't have your real soulmate, you've come to really care about dabi since you've met him. you don't know if you love him, but you at least have a little secret crush

so, you take a peek, and you get dizzy when you see what it says.

that's your name. your full name. exact.

you're stunned, speechless, can't even process how you feel right now.

and as dabi starts to wake up, and he asks what you're doing, you can't help but weakly say "Touya?"

he mentally curses, immediately realizing you saw his mark. but he can't do anything about it now, and he's kind of stuck laying here with you as you keep him from dying

"...yeah, that's me"

you're confused, you ask him why he never told you, you're rambling out questions and he can't even keep up with it.

'listen, when we met, I heard toga read that name off your chest. I see it almost every day. I've known this whole time, but before, and even now, I have plans I have to carry out. back then I didn't tell you because I couldn't be bothered to care with you, but now I didn't want to tell you because I wouldn't know what to do. I can't promise love, or even being alive, and it seemed easier for you just thinking he, or I, was dead."

you stared at him, processing everything

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have looked without your permission... but, I want you to know that I won't force anything on you. If you want a relationship, I'm more than happy. I'm happy with whatever you give me, even if nothing changes. I just ask that you don't push me away."

he nodded, and told you he promised to keep you around as much as possible, and that was that

he still didn't know what he wanted to do with you, but you grew more attached every day until you could say with certainty that soulmate or not, you were in love with him.

nothing would come of this for a long time though, maybe a few nights of make out sessions with too much sexual tension, but no real talk of feelings or relationships.

you grew kind of comfortable with it like this, even if sometimes you wanted a more stereotypical relationship with all the dumb sappy stuff, you had thought you didn't even have a soulmate for so long that just being near him was a blessing

dabi decided he didn't want to think of you as a soulmate. he didn't want to think he had any sort of obligation to love you or treat you a certain way. if anything was going to come of this, it would be of his own will. not the universes.

which is why it took so long, dabi could always admit you were attractive, and over time you were a great friend and someone he could truly care about, but he didn't know If he LOVED you, he didn't know if he could feel that serious for you

so it took some time, and took some real thinking for him decipher his weird complex feelings towards you, until eventually he decided that yes, he could love you.

but he wanted to wait until he did love you to do anything. and also, your existence didn't change the fact that he had plans and goals he needed to see through

so now, he's just done his big reveal, now the whole world knows who he is, and even though he didn't kill his brother like planned, he still deems it a somewhat success

he's elated to at least have come this far, he could do the rest next time, but right now all he can focus on is how happy you are for him. both for him and that he came out okay somehow. he had told you about his past in little bits, so you didn't need to 'comfort' him in any way, even though it hurt you to think about how awful his life has been

but he has his head on your lap as he stares up at your face, focused as you help him fix the staples for the new scars that have formed from this fight, and he felt so truly comfortable right now.

he has no stress, he had no anxiety about the future, it was just you and him right now.

'I love you, you know'

he spoke so casually, as if you hadn't been waiting your entire life to hear him say those words

in your head you were screaming, crying, everything. but all you could say was

'I love you too'

ever since you were little, every single dream you had consisted of you and a little boy, together in a white room

some of your furthest memories of these dreams were quiet as the two of you kind of just stared at each other, saying nothing

but you recall as one day, you finally said hi. you told him your name, and asked his.

he seemed shy, and nervously scratched at his neck as he answered you, telling you his name was 'Tenko Shimura'

there's blurry memories of you talking to him more and more, learning more about this kid, until he disappeared for a couple weeks

to you, these are just dreams, so you don't think too much of it until he eventually does come back but very different than you remember

the shy expression on his face turned into one of shell shock almost, and his hair had turned completely white

you tried asking what happened, but for a good few weeks (even though he only popped up maybe 5 times at most), he didn't even look at you.

eventually, he did speak, but all he really said was that he got his quirk, and he did something bad

for years after that, you rarely ever saw him. as you grew older you assumed it was because you were growing out of your 'imaginary friend' phase, but every night your dreams always consisted of that empty white room.

eventually you reach high school, and your mental health takes a tank. you can barely sleep, you can barely do anything. so you end up on a night owl schedule, sleeping all day on weekends, up all night every night, and barely sleeping on school days.

and for the first time in probably years, you saw tenko again.

both of you seemed actively surprised at seeing one another, and you can't help but notice how much he's grown as well

he's obviously older, probably the same age as you, his hair has gotten a little longer, his skin doesn't seem to have improved any which makes you a little sad that he hasn't seen a doctor yet, and he looks unhealthily lanky

he's clearly eyeing you too, he kind of forgot that he ever had a partner of sorts in this weird dream world having not seen you in so long

'why are you here?'

'I don't know, because I'm asleep right now i guess'

'do you always sleep during the day? I'm guessing your in Japan too, right?'

'I sleep whenever I want, but usually I'm up all night. and yes, im in japan'

this made you realize something, so you asked 'are you a real person?'

'unfortunately'

this very well could be just a part of your dream. but it makes sense that he very much is another living person. so you want to test it

'hey, I wanna try something. would you be willing to try and go to sleep at the same time?'

he made a weird face at you, clearly confused, 'why would I do that?'

'because this is cool! if you really are a real person, and not just some dream boy, then it'd be fun to have someone to talk to. and if we sleep at the same time, we have all night together'

'why should I care'

'do you have anything better to do in here?'

he was silent, you were right. your dream world wasn't kind enough to give you anything to do, and even tho it didn't necessarily feel like you were in there for hours, it still was a good while to be sitting in an empty white room doing nothing

'fine. what time'

figuring that the only respective time was at night, you had to shift your whole schedule around again, but this led to more frequent meetings with each other

it wasn't every night, there were some nights where he couldn't be bothered to go to bed, or you were too busy to do so, but you saw each other a lot more consistently now

most of the time, you were leading these conversations, asking him questions about his life and stuff, and he answered fairly vaguely unless it was something he actually cared to talk about

which you found was video games. that's all he really did, especially League of Legends

so you made an effort to play some of these games, that way you could understand what he was talking about or talk about the lore with him

for a couple years, you two were best dream friends, even though you never met irl. you always considered asking if you could meet, but he seemed nervous when you asked if you could actually play a game together at some point so you dropped it

as much as he had grown to love these dream times, he was scared to meet you in person. in dreams, there was still a layer of protection between you and him. in real life, you actually get to meet the true and real him.

plus, as he got older, AFO had more and more expectations for him, and soon the League of Villains was formed

this caused him to be busy a lot more, which meant he slept less, which caused his time in the dream world to dwindle again

you understood, you're 20 years old and have your own things to do, but you do miss him when he isn't there

the highlight of your day is seeing him, honestly

however, a few months later, you're scrolling on your phone and you see some news about villains, nothing new really, but a picture included peaks your interest

it's kind of blurry, but the man in the picture of one of the members of this group or villains looks very similar to tenko

and within the next few weeks, as the league becomes more active, more pictures come out and eventually you're positive - that's your dream boy

you honestly don't really care he's a villain all that much, you aren't particularly fond of most heroes, and you can't help but want to go to him

so, you find a way, and with stains message sparking more people to want to join the league it makes it a lot easier for you to do so

as you make your way into this weird little bar, you don't see him at first, you see a few other members who mostly don't really care that you're there. which is fine to you, you're not here for them

you're ready to ask one of them where Tenko is, however, until he turns the corner and makes his way into the room

luckily for him, he notices you before you can yell out his name in excitement, and he loudly says your name in confusion

you run over to him, smiling huge seeing him. you open your mouth, ready to speak, but before you can he tells you to come with him, so you do

he leads you deeper into the base, into what you suspect is his room. it's kind of gross, with dirty clothes and trash everywhere, but you ignore it for now

'why are you here'

it kind of hurts your feelings that he isn't as excited to see you as you are him, but he never has been the most excitable person, so you try to keep that in mind

'I found out a while ago that you were here, and I was really hoping that it wasn't some doppelganger or that it wasn't just a coincidence that this dream person happened to look like a real person.'

'you shouldn't be here. you're not a villain'

'you don't know that. you never told me you were a villain'

he basically went :/ at you, he didn't know what to think really

on one hand, yes, he was excited to see you. but he didn't know what to do with you here. you didn't seem like a villain, maybe your quirk could be useful somehow, but did you even want to actually join the league?

plus, now there is no safety net between you two. and he's terrified. you're the only 'friend' he's ever had, even if it was in his head his whole life, and he doesn't want you to hate him or leave like everyone else

'if you stay here, you have to help. you answer to me. you work for my cause.'

'I can do that'

'also, my name... it's Tomura Shigaraki now. so don't use,, that other name'

you decided not to ask why, and just accepted the situation now.

so from day 1, you were his biggest supporter and friend. whatever your morals were before, you didn't really care now. you were happy here, with this weird little family, and especially with Tomura

every day while not working you were spending time with him, he finally let you play games with him, you were both happy

he started to learn just how much he truly cared about you, you're the only person he truly feels safe with. he feels like himself, you give him the chance to feel happiness instead of just be consumed with hatred every day

'hey, y/n, do you ever wonder why we dream of each other?'

you had gone to sleep a few hours ago, but woke up when you felt weight on your bed, and opened your eyes to see Tomura sitting there staring blankly at the wall

'yeah, I haven't really heard of it before, and I haven't asked anyone since I was little. but they all told me it's just dreams, nothing special'

he said nothing, but he turned to look at you now.

'but, I feel like it has to mean something. something important. it led me to the most important person in my life.'

he couldn't help but smile as you said that, and he nodded, 'I agree. I used to not care about it that much. but I'm glad I got to meet you, in my dreams and especially in real life.'

he was being especially open about his feelings for once, which you loved, but it was also confusing

'tomura, are you okay?'

he was quiet again, this time clearly thinking. you let him, fiddling with your fingers as you waited. you were nervous for some reason

'I don't know. I don't know what this feeling is. Just, you make me happy. nothing else makes me happy. you feel... safe, and warm. everyone else is so meaningless, but I don't know if I could keep going without you. I don't want you going on missions because you might not come back. I want to kill anyone who takes you away from me.'

he was rambling, clearly speaking his thoughts as they came, and your heart was melting the entire time. you didn't want to assume, but you were hopeful

'tomura, do you love me?'

that clicked in his brain. he couldn't word these feelings correctly in his head, but love sounded right. as far as he knew what love was supposed to be, he figured that yes, he did love you

so he nodded again.

'tomura.. I love you too'

he didn't know what to do now. he just sat there for a while, thinking about what this meant.

'can I hug you?'

'you know I can't touch you'

'it's okay, I trust you.'

as you hugged, you eventually felt the palm of his hand against your back, knowing he was being especially careful not to touch you.

'I'm going to let go now, if you want to move your hand.'

Mixed feelings as always:

Percy's dream slapped. I loved Kronos's actor. It felt perfectly eery. No notes.

No percabeth late night convo on the truck. This doesn't surprise me given we sort of did that on the train already, but now there's just another iconic book moment that we'll get bits and pieces of, but never actually get to see in its entirety/original setting.

I did vibe with the glass prism tool for the iris message and it was pretty cool. The Percy + Annabeth argument was great but I'm gonna be honest, Luke being like "you're arguing like an old married couple" was laying it on a tad thick to me idk idk. I know I'll probably be in the minority there lol but I think it would have liked the line better if Percy and Annabeth got more embarrassed to his statement but they both reacted to it like :/ so it just felt heavy handed on the show runners part more than anything

Lotus Hotel vibes? Lackluster. Uninspired. It just didn't capture that outrageous paradise for kids feeling from the book because they turned it into Hermes' hangout so there's a whole bunch more adults than kids. Basically felt like if you took the movie's version and turned down the energy of it by a mile lmao. (Which is also ironic given RR's post about it today).

And of course the kids immediately know what's happening so like. No fun mystery. No Percy figuring it out. Just them being like "omg we need to be careful" and then immediately separating from Grover lmao.

Okay. LMM's Hermes.... it wasn't bad. Thankfully there was no singing. He was fine. It's more or less that turning the Lotus story line into a Hermes' storyline was like an "okay, I guess we're doing this" thing. I mean I guess we finally introduced something for the non-book reader's to pick up on that Luke might not have the best relationship with his dad (and consequently the gods). But like, nothing about this storyline is something that isn't introduced later on in the books. Nor was it better or more interesting than the original lotus storyline in the books.

Again, its the constant replacement of everything fun and silly and absurd in the book and turning it into a very serious moment, is just like, killing the energy. Seriousness is good. Silliness is also good. The book balanced it greatly. The show struggles here.

Glad we got a Pan mention tho!! Finally!

But um 4 pearls, so no dilemma about who to save. A part of me is relieved because the show's created like 3 other sacrifice convo scenarios so its gotten bit reductive, but Sally being a part of the equation is an entirely different dynamic and now that dilemma is theoretically gone. (unless he loses one of the pearls?)

And Percy's missed the deadline?? Right?? So like? I really don't know what we're doing anymore. In the book the deadline was pretty strict lol. Here I guess the deadline was like, a loose suggestion? Percy's walking into the middle of the god's battle field with master bolt in his hand? Idk.

Overall things in the show feel messy and way less cohesive. They seem to know that certain things from the book are important but not necessarily why, or they'll introduce events or plot points strangely late or way too early.

arcane headcanon 1: a single silco specific thing

-at one point in his life he did have family. but he was practically a toddler and can’t remember much about them no matter how much he tried.

-he was one of four siblings, him being the youngest and only boy and they adored him. cutest llittle boy, calm, and long hair to play with

-they didn’t have their parents but were still grouped together at some home.

-their ages varied and the eldest was well into her teens while the youngest very early primary school age

-but Silco was chill and loved the attention, the youngest loved playtime with him and he goes along no problem. they loved him and took care of him the best kids with barely anything can

-i think he ended up losing them for different reasons, all messed up and unfortunate. started with eldest and went down hill with middle child being last. it likes everything came crumbling and silco was alone at a very young age.

-the other was with the middle, they were alone, home all day waiting. doesn’t know for what but time pass like nothing to him, to her it was dreadfully slow. it became fully night and she had her head almost defeated looking. eventually she looked up at him somberly thinking “what am i to do”. silco of course did not understand this back then as he was just around 4-5.

“i don’t care who wins.” you roll your eyes, closing them as you take a gulp of your drink, the alcohol burning your throat. “i need information on the whereabouts of Ronan.”

the infamous Baba Yaga stalks over you, waiting for you to turn in your chair. “no convo prep?” you sigh, turning around in your chair. “what will i get in return?” you saw him reach down in his pocket, hearing the sound of coins click together. “save it. it was a test to see if you were serious. just kill the bastard.”

“such language. almost sounds like you hate him.” despite his stoic expression, you sensed a hint of humor in his tone. “i don’t care how you kill him. just make sure he doesn’t see the next sunrise.”

he chuckles. “what has he done to you for you to feel that way?” you take a breath, tryin not you get upset as you remember a few memories. “long story he left me for dead once.”

john hums. “i’ll take a stab another stab at him. as revenge for you.” he winks. from hearing all these horror stories from people who’ve encountered him, he seems like a genuine man.

“what about you? why are you goin’ after the man?” your body loosens. “ah,” he takes a sharp inhale, “i have a list of people who participated in taking my life away from you. luckily for you, he’s up there.”

“and luckily for you,” you pull out a notepad from your back pocket, scribbling some words and locations down before ripping the paper off, pressing it against his chest. “i know where he’s been.”

john’s eyes search through yours, finding a glint of attraction reflecting from him to you. “may your journey be quick and his death swift.” you hop off the stool, walking out the bar.

he skims over the paper, his eyes locking with a series of numbers and a “xoxo” written at the bottom. “what a woman.” he smiles, shaking his head, stuffing the paper in his breast pocket as he leaves the bar.

Hello lovely people on my screen! I've been getting really into podcasts these last few weeks since finishing Wolf 359 and I am DYING to talk about them! This is my way to talk about what I've been listening to this week and dumping my thoughts since I do not have friends that listen to podcasts lol

Cry Havoc! Ask Questions Later (ep 14) (minor spoilers)

I'm a die-hard Cry Havoc! fan. It's one of the few podcasts I've caught within the first few episodes and it is quickly one I will jump to every time a new episode comes out. Who would've thought a workplace comedy set in ancient Rome would be so good! The humor is dry and mostly situational and works so well.

This episode had a bit more heart than Cry Havoc! has had before and it worked so well! Listening to Octavia and Charmian have a serious discussion that helped further their relationship beyond "ooh haha sexy morally grey lesbians" was really refreshing and nice to see such character growth within just a few episodes.

And the entire plague plot with Gaius and Mark was a great way to balance it out. I love Cry Havoc!'s style of humor. My only qualm is I couldn't find a transcript for this episode but I might've been looking in the wrong place.

Arden (eps 1-4)

GUYS I LOVE ARDEN SO MUCH!!!

This is also a Shakespeare inspired piece! Season 1 is inspired by Romeo and Juliet, which I realized embarrassingly late in, and the little R&J easter eggs I have been picking up are really cool and make me feel like I remembered something from 9th grade English haha.

I used to looove true crime podcasts but I got uncomfortable by how the hosts would discuss the killers and victims so Arden, as a fake true crime podcast, is a great middle ground! I heard season 3 is coming out soon so hopefully I can catch up in time! I love Bea and Brenda's banter and honestly the two just need to kiss or something, but I digress. The writers make this a really compelling story and even though only one aspect of the cold case is examined per episode I am hooked and not at all bored or frustrated when we divert to Bea and Brenda's side convos. I have listened to this when going to bed and gotten scared once or twice, and for a fake true crime podcast I consider that a win!

Wolf 359 (finale)

I don't have the word count to say everything I want to say about Wolf 359. If you know me you might have seen the post I made about finishing Wolf 359 this week and how it was just so world alterting for me because I've been listening to it on and off for about 8 years. It really is the end of an era. It didn't go down the way I thought it would and it was a very bittersweet ending. I feel like everything was tied up well but I do have some questions about Bob. I am going to miss Lovelace, and Eiffel and...everybody! Maybe not Kepler. Truly is an end of an era for me. I was podcast-hungover the whole day.

Stellar Firma (ep 1)

I gave the first episode of Stellar Frima a try, I'm a big Rusty Quill fan so I had high hopes but guys, I don't think this is for me. The pilot episode didn't click for me the way I thought it would and it just didn't seem my speed. What do you guys think about Stellar Firma? Should I give it another shot?

Malevolent (ep 6)

Malevolent is another show I'm trying to get into since everybody loves it but the pace just feels so slow to me right now. I know more overarching plot points develop later on so I'm willing to stick this one out. I like malevolent but it just feels like all the places and things they're doing right now are building toward something I'm not at yet and that's just frustrating.

What better way to get me out of my Wolf 359 hangover than a podcast made by the Wolf 359 folks? This one came recommended to me by anon so thank you whoever you are! I listened to the entire podcast (3 episodes) in one day and loved it! I miss you Radio Bob. I hope you're doing well. Humor was elite but what else should I have expected from Gabriel Urbina? I loved the character development they were capable of in 3 episodes. I can see myself relistening to this soon!

The Kingmaker Histories (prologue....ep 0?)

another podcast I heard had a new season coming out soon. I don't know how I feel; about fantasy podcasts but I liked season 1 of The Two Princes so I have high hopes. I only listened to the prologue so far and haven't even met the MC so I don't have many opinions yet.

Liminal Criminals (ep 1)

I listened to the first episode twice. It was so funny. Few podcast make me actually laugh out loud. I interrupted my roommate making dinner to tell her about this because I kept laughing. The dry voice the narrator has while he explains the most ABSURD FAKE TRUE CRIME sold this for me. "Mr. Breadsticks stays. Mr. Breadsticks stays. I will kill you with a fork. Mr. Breadsticks stays." is my discord status and no one understands me. I hope the rest of these episodes are as funny.

I'm going to defend Jere. He has literally been fighting his deep and very real feelings for Belly since season 1. She broke his heart like worse than most people even realize. They were not on speaking terms that's how bad it was. She's with him and then accidentally kisses Conrad. She goes to tell Jere about it and he's rightfully got the mindset (You're supposed to be my best friend) what the ?! Why are you messing with my heart and feelings? That's why he told her to get out. She continuously tries to get Jere to talk to her after the breakup and then Conrad has the audacity when Jere's dealing with medical bills to ask for his blessing. Why? Because that's how he figured he could possibly try to get over her. Being near Belly when he feels the way he does is too much. Conrad not taking Jere seriously. Rip Susannah but she really fucked them all up good intentioned or not. The mindset of oh it will always be Conrad. Your mom just assuming that was hurtful. The passion mistaken for "lust" bffr no it's on a deeper emotional and intimate level because their foundation is built in friendship. Belly royally fucked up and I get that she's young but damn. So unlikable. The fact that NO ONE thought to think to ask Jere how he felt is fucking insane like he was supposed to be okay with that. Yes, he knew about the crush and feelings but Conrad hadn't actually acted on them. Jere's literally in love with her. He's been feeling tortured from end of season 1 into season 2. Not to mention some people clearly have never been in love with two people at the same time. It's complicated. Belly is truly beyond messy. Everything is disastrous but what happened between her and Jere at the end of the episode was all her. She's been all over him. You can't expect him to not kiss the girl he's actually in love with and his best friend. Now, should it have taken place where it did? Oh hell no. With what she's wearing? No. That blatantly disrespected Conrad. She's the problem. Jere caved but he's not to blame for this. She is. She loves them both but she's not actually in love with Conrad anymore and is guarding her heart from him. She tried to tell him the night before that she's been having intense feelings for Jere, thankfully he fell asleep. I feel for Conrad I do, it's just too little too late. Maybe this reality check will be good for him? Him seeing literal fireworks between those too. He should want that for her because I recall a convo about neither of them not being able to be with someone if there wasn't fireworks. My heart hurts for him but there's no denying she's in love with Jere seemingly too at this point. He did everything he possibly could to resist her. He tried so hard. I'm sorry this is like a novel. Honestly Team Fisher's happiness at this point because What the fuck!

oh, please don't be sorry, it's all okay, i love reading someone's thoughts about those things. and thank you for sending me this! honestly, i wanted to apologise if in some of my previous replies it looked like i'm blaming jeremiah for everything that happened. i actually don't, because all three of them made this situation such a mess. and a little warning, i'm not a jere hater, but i'm not a big fan as well, so i'm somewhere in the middle. i do agree with what you said, jere really tried to fight his feelings for belly and move on, but i don't think that conrad and belly were in the wrongs here too. from their point of view, jeremiah was a golden retriever, a person who has meaningless flings and someone who's just always happy. the biggest issue with all three of them is their lack of communication. we, as viewers, realise that their summer fling with belly meant a lot for jeremiah, but belly doesn't realise it, conrad wasn't even aware of it before him and belly kissed on the beach. they are sixteen and in love, the whole world literally disappears when you're in love, so i think it's understandable that both belly and conrad were not aware how serious everything was for jeremiah. conrad asking jeremiah for blessing was a pretty understandable thing for me. jeremiah didn't tell him how serious he felt towards belly, conrad doesn't know about his feelings. they don't communicate well (if not like at all), so they are dealing with an aftermath of zero communication between them. what i don't like about jeremiah in general is him using guilt-tripping tactic to make his point. with belly he pulled "my mom has cancer" card when she came to talk about conrad. again, don't hate him cause it's his way of dealing with things. with conrad he said that conrad wasn't present for his mother when conrad was literally in college (and personally, i have studied abroad, so when my little sister pulled "you're not even here with us" card at me once i got a depression episode). so his tactics are pretty questionable to me. and i do feel bad for jeremiah cause adam and partly susannah fucked up with him by starting this competition between him and conrad. i feel sorry for him because he thinks that he's not worthy when things come to conrad. however, i feel sorry for him up until the moment he blames conrad for this cause it's not conrad's fault that his parents had made jere feel that way. i'm not trying to say that conrad and belly are saints, they are not. actually, all three of them are dealing with grief and all three of them haven't really processed the loss of susannah, but meanwhile jeremiah needs people around, conrad needs to take a step back from everyone. and belly, on the other hand, is afraid that things will change, she's trying to get this part of susannah that she lost. and who is a copy of susannah with her optimism, shiny eyes and bright smile? jeremiah. belly is deflecting from her grief by trying to hold to her childhood where everything was not so complicated. she loves both of the boys, of course, and that's why she's acting so messy. no excuses because right now belly doesn't even realise consequences of everything that she's doing to them, but also i don't think that we have to expect a lot of maturity from sixteen years old girl too. absolutely agree that conrad needed a reality check, they both need to mature on their own to find each other later. for me belly and conrad in this season proved that they are right person wrong time trope, so when they both will have their individual growth, they could find a road to each other again. the same thing with jeremiah, he needs to grow and deal with his issues too. and yeah team fishers' happiness all the way! i can write a whole essay about how fisher brothers need to put each other first, but it's for another rant. if you've read to this part thank you so much! and i'm so sorry if this reply is huge, i really liked the conversation you started and it was great reading your thoughts!

but he could not make the jump to get his coat back, Immense disappointment. he still doesn't know about the white rectangles and wonders how people know they're cops

looks like the Kim Kitsuragi effect is working, he did not even think about snorting that speed (but I should probably mention the drugs mechanic, I'm not sure he got that)

I got the impression the long intercom's button list intimidated him because it would take too much time, so I pushed him to see his reaction to the non-answers. he "talked" to the woman in the intercom. he's confused but thinks it's an important piece of the story (I told him that even if I can't say anything about it, I do think everything is important in this game)

he keeps running around without talking to people! like full in the middle of the strike protest, no questions. picturing Harry doing it is very funny. and he keeps trying white checks without clicking the other options before! I scream internally every time (dude the modifiers!!! he also missed the crane convo with Kim and likely will miss it again :/). but has shifted from "what would I do" to "what do I want my character to do?" ("well, I am an alcoholic, it makes sense if I say some childish stuff *clicks I don't want to get better*")

he thinks the music fits the game very nicely, and likes the art style, but sometimes finds the map confusing, like that crumbling building's floor near Cuno's shack, it's not clear it's a building floor and not on the ground (tbf I was also confused by that)

he got a very improbable history lesson from the statue (the Sensitive type has 1 in Intellect!?). sounds like what a King would do! he doesn't know how the political stuff works, I'm sure he'll be baffled by the fascist point he got by saying that lol

ok i see what the program means. their idea was that students would focus more if their favourite celebrities were their teachers. i was skeptical because i think i would just be kind of dazed seeing my favourite celeb up close. but i think the idea is that they try harder when they like their teacher XD like i would definitely want to impress my teacher if i liked them lol.
