I might be having an "I've connected the dots" "you didn't connect shit" moment but I'm obsessed with the gk live action showing half-dead ogata using his fingers to trace out the word "immortal" on tsurumi's palm. it’s such a choice! it's got the weirdly intimate edge that tsurumi's interactions with his subordinates so often have. and for an audience familiar with the source material it has some extra overtones: we know that the post-patricide hand-on-ogata's-knee situation has already happened and that ogata has already decided to betray tsurumi. so again we get what looks like affectionate physical touch being used between these two for manipulation. even though he knows he's going to escape at the first opportunity, ogata still reaches for tsurumi's hand. he knows how tsurumi has tried to manipulate him in the past, and now he's going to try to use that same language to get tsurumi to go after sugimoto on his behalf. A+ adaptation addition, love it
