Dumb question, how does Valerie's hair fit inside her helmet? I know Danny has to have asked at some point.
her helmet is actually a pocket dimension! Thats where all her hair goes!
Danny asked once and she showed him and that idiot just straight up (somehow) fell in! She had to go in there too to save him, cuz fucking hell she aint gonna have a ghost in her little helmet dimension even tho shes never been there before! Cue a weird adventure of them trying to survive that dimension and at the end it turns out it just led to Technus’ lair (cuz he made the suit). They walk in on Technus cleaning out the dirt from between his toes and are traumatized for life!
They leave, Valerie destroys the helmet because ew and she and Danny bond over their shared trauma :) <3

I Can’t Say Anything to Your Face
Summary: Lunchtime is Spencer Reid’s favorite time of day and not because of the crappy endless coffee, dry sandwiches, or the occasional chocolate donut. Spencer’s favorite time of day comes in the shape of a little post it notes and fits perfectly into his heart.
Pairing: Spencer x Female Reader
Content: Fluff (1 use of a$$)
Author’s Note: The idea of for this came from @shemarmooresfedora for giving Spencer compliment cards
Word Count: 2.6 K
I Can't Say Anything To Your Face
When Spencer checks his watch for the twelfth time that day, he can practically feel Derek’s eyes roll. He tries to cover up his action by picking at his sleeve, but that just seems to draw attention to the situation. Derek raises his eyebrows at Spencer, as if to tell him, I saw that.
When it comes to teasing Spencer, Derek doesn’t miss a beat.
The team, minus Derek and Spencer, continue to work diligently. JJ walks back and forth from her office to Hotch’s, constantly shuffling through piles and piles of paperwork. Emily seems to keep herself busy with the 33 tabs that she has open on her screen. Y/N, who’s tongue slips out of her teeth in concentration, doesn’t look up from her mound of case files. Spencer likes studying how each of the members of his team works, but he particularly likes to watch Y/N. She always sticks her tongue out when she’s deep in thought. Sometimes she’ll close her eyes and rub the butt of her palm against them. Other times she’ll push her glasses up on top of her head and her hair frames her face perfectly. Spencer couldn’t care less what she looked like or how she wore her hair, but watching her was his favorite part of the day.
In a totally platonic, non-creepy way.
A beep distracts Spencer from being distracted by Y/N. It’s an IM from Derek, telling him something to the effect of asking Y/N out. Instead of responding, Spencer decides to send Derek a more direct message. He shuts off his computer, which isn’t really used, besides for Y/N to send Spencer requests for online scrabble.
Spencer, ignoring Derek’s gloating, walks from the bullpen into the team’s lunch room. It’s a small kitchenette with a couple tables, a very old coffee machine, and an even older refrigerator. Peeking into the refrigerator, Spencer takes out two lunch boxes. One is light green with patterned purple and orange dinosaurs all over and the other is a light blue with green plants. Like clockwork, Y/N rounds the corner with a smile plastered to her face.
“What’s got you smiling like that?” Spencer asks, placing his lunch box down across from Y/N’s seat.
“It’s just my favorite time of day,” Y/N responds, unzipping her bag and taking out her banana, water bottle, granola, and turkey sandwich.
Spencer tries to hold back his smile at Y/N saying that lunch is her favorite time of day. He likes to believe that it’s because of him and not because of the top tier kitchen facility the government provides for them. But who’s he kidding, there’s no way that lunch is Y/N favorite part of the day because of Spencer when he’s up against a crappy coffee maker.
“Did you know that sandwiches were only called sandwiches because the Earl of Sandwich ate his meals with bread, meat and cheese like modern day sandwiches? However, there’s much debate if sandwiches existed prior to this. Researchers actually believe that sandwiches were simply referred to as bread and meat or bread cheese, depending on the ingredients. There’s hundreds of works of literature that help to determine this,” Spencer says, as he unwraps his leftovers from dinner the previous night.
Y/N, who takes a bite of her turkey sandwich, listens intently to Spencer’s oral history of sandwiches. She starts to respond to Spencer, but before she can even get the chance, Derek interjects into the conversation.
“Hold your horses, there Reid,” Derek says, his voice tainted with sarcasm and Spencer braces himself for a clipping comment, “you don’t want to scare away the newbie,”
Y/N, ever quick witted, rolls her eyes dramatically at Derek. She gets up and moves her seat closer to Spencer who’s heart rate, at the thought of her sitting even closer to him, speeds up. He knows that it's just an effort to tease Derek. That she'd rather suffer next to Spencer, than to have to entertain the idea of sitting next to Derek. But still, Spencer is a dreamer; he'd like to think she'd sit next to him even without the added bonus at avoiding Derek's playful teasing.
“Derek, leave Spencer alone, I happen to adore his facts. You know, I’ve seen I’ve been here I’ve been a Jeopardy beast. And when are you going to realize that I’m not a newbie, I’ve been here for what 2 years-”
“2 years, 4 months, and 4 days,” Spencer says, cursing himself silently for interrupting Y/N.
Derek grabs his lunch from the refrigerator, and sits down across from Spencer and Y/N.
“You remember the day I started?” Y/N asks, turning her attention from Derek to Spencer, whose face is twisted in what he can only assume is an extremely unattractive deer-in-head-lights look. He shrugs off Y/N’s comment, as if to say it’s just normal for him.
"Of course I do, I remember how long each of us has been here,"
"Oh, right. Eidetic Memory," Y/N mumbles, almost like she's slightly disappointed in something.
Suddenly Spencer’s mouth is quite dry; he reaches into his lunch bag to grab his water bottle, but his fingers brush across a small card taped to the outside. Forgetting that showing the card to Morgan would give him enough ammunition for the rest of day, Spencer quickly scans the card. It’s a small piece of paper, but it suddenly has become Spencer’s most treasured object. More than the set of Chaucer tales that his mother gave him, or Gideon’s watch, or his first microscope that his biology teacher in high school gave him at his graduation.
The one side of the card is decorated in small hearts and there’s a sketch of a dinosaur on the other side. In careful handwriting, the giver of the card wrote “Are you made of Nickel, Cerium, Arsenic, and Sulfur? Because you got a NiCe AsS!”
Spencer’s eyes grow a couple sizes once his brain registers the meaning of the card. Handling it less than gracefully, he chokes on his water, which catches Derek and Y/N’s attention.
“You okay there, Spence?’ Derek asks, questioning what sent Spencer coughing and choking on water like that.
Spencer, not wanting Y/N or Derek, especially Derek, to read the card, attempts to put it in the front pocket of his lunch box. Unfortunately, Derek catches sight of the card and snatches it out of Spencer’s hand.
“Derek!” Spencer whines.
He can feel his embarrassment deepen as Morgan’s smile grows. Spencer seriously thinks that this is how he’s going to die. His death, being in his line of work, is something that plagues his thoughts from time to time, but any gory hero’s death pales in comparison to Derek Morgan reading Spencer’s love notes about his ass.
“Nice ass? I’m not too sure about this, Reid, but looks like your secret lover likes your ass just as much as your brains,” Derek teases, handing back Spencer his card.
“Those are private,” Spencer says, grateful that Derek’s going to leave him alone, places the card back in it’s temporary resting spot near his driver’s license and photographs of him and Y/N at the arcade.
“Hey man, I was just going to put in that shoe box you have tucked under your desk, you must have hundreds of them by now,” Derek says, taking a bite of his ham and cheese wrap. His eyes dash between Spencer and Y/N, like the pair of them is the most entertaining reality show he could think of.
“I have 645, now,” Spencer says, unable to help himself much to Derek’s amusement. Spencer hears the chair next to him screech and Y/N rushes to pack up her half eaten lunch.
“I completely forgot, Anderson needs me to uh, help him with something,” Y/N says, stuffing her water bottle into her lunch box in a flustered state. Spencer watches as she rushes, her need to leave the kitchenette quite evident. Spencer is left wondering why she has to go see Anderson, of all people.
“Anderson? What does he want with you? I don’t remember Hotch saying anything about that,” Spencer says, his voice comes off a little more bitter than he indented.
“Maybe Anderson has some extracurriculars that he needs Y/N’s help with Spencer,” Derek says with a wink. Spencer’s brow tightens and his blush deepens as if he’s trying to decipher the way that Derek’s voice is laced with suggestion. The only logical conclusion is that Y/N is flustered because she’s sneaking off to see Anderson, because she likes him.
Y/N likes Anderson? Something about that doesn’t taste right in Spencer’s mouth.
Like the wind, Y/N is gone and all that remains is Derek’s sly chuckle.
“What!” Spencer says, much too loud for him to continue the coy and unassuming demeanor he usually produces when Y/N gets hit on at the bar or on case by local cops.
“Nothing, Reid. You're just clueless. Just think about how many of those little compliment cards you’ve gotten,” Derek says. He reaches into Spencer’s lunch box and takes his brownie. Usually, Spencer would have protested, but Derek’s words sent him into a confused spiral.
“645,” Spencer responds.
“Okay,” Derek continues, “645 days you’ve gotten those cute little cards in your lunch box or taped to your hotel room door on cases. Now, Reid think. How many years, months, and days, is 645 days”
“That’s 2 years, 4 months, and 3 days,” Spencer starts, “now given if it’s a Leap Year that could change it a little bit bit-”
“Think about it Reid,” Derek says, talking slowly to get the words sink in and hoping that he doesn’t have to spell it out for him.
“Y/N?” Spencer asks, kind of like he can’t believe it, but desperately wants to believe it at the same time.
“Y/N,” Derek repeats, “I’m surprised it’s taken you this long, Reid. She’s been making eyes at you the day she’s gotten here. It’s almost sickening to watch you to dance around each other,”
“Y/N,” Spencer says, it’s like he’s saying her name for the first time. It’s the most beautiful string of syllables to ever come from his lips.
Spencer pushes back the chair and swings the door open. As he walks to Y/N’s desk he gets distracted by the little brown shoe box that sticks out slightly from under his desk. He crouches down and picks it up, hoping that it can be helpful. He approaches Y/N’s desk, but JJ stops him before he can go closer.
“Stairwell,” Is all she says before she brushes past with an armful of case files. Spencer, heading JJ’s advice, practically runs to the stairwell. As he approaches he can hear quiet sobs, which he can only imagine are Y/N’s.
Spencer opens the door and Y/N, startled, stands up and tries to mop the tears away from her face.
“Spencer, oh god, I didn’t know you were here, I’m okay, it’s just me being a little silly,” she says, trying to laugh through what she can only assume is going to be rejection.
“I really hope you don’t think these are silly, well some are kind of silly, but others were very poetic,” Spencer says, taking a step forward and gesturing with the shoe box to make it obvious to Y/N that he’s talking about the compliment cards.
“What are you talking about, Spencer?” Y/N says, feigning ignorance.
“Don’t play dumb, Y/N. You're much too smart to play dumb,” Spencer says, moving closer to Y/N so he can wipe her tear-stricken face with the sleeve of his soft cardigan. He tries not to focus on the way that Y/N seems to melt into his touch. He knows that if he can get another touch of that, he’ll never want to touch another person ever again.
“I’m not playing dumb, Spence. I just never planned for you to find out,” Y/N mumbles. Spencer’s face resembles a mix between shock and confusion.
“Why would you not tell me, I don’t think I made it anything but obvious that I’m crazy about you,” Spencer says, deeply wondering why Y/N would ever hide something like this from him.
“God Spencer, have you ever looked in a mirror?” Y/N asks him, sitting down on the third step, “you’re so gorgeous, Spencer, I can’t say anything to your face. So the next best thing was to write down everything that I wanted to say to you,” Y/N finishes, a little embarrassed. She tries to hide that embarrassment by not making eye contact with Spencer, who sits down next to her.
“You think I’m gorgeous?” Spencer asks, not entirely sure that he heard her correctly.
Y/N peaks at him with teary eyes and a runny nose. Spencer thanks science and the universe for his Eidetic Memory. He knows that there won’t be a single day of his life that he won’t want to think back to this day and remember the way that Y/N looked when she first told him that she thinks he’s gorgeous.
“I think you’re the most beautiful person that I’ve ever seen,” Y/N says breathily, her voice laced with restraint. She’s terrified of rejection, terrified that Spencer will turn her down still.
“That’s the first time I’ve heard that,” Spencer says, equally as quiet and equally as terrified. He notices that Y/N’s hand creeps closer to his. Spencer is itching to intertwine it to his and never let go.
“You deserve to hear it more often, hence the cards,” Y/N explains, moving her hand even more closer to Spencer’s. He has no choice but to wrap his much larger one in Y/N’s smaller one.
“You meant it, right?” Spencer asks, bravely putting her heart out there on the line, “because if you did Y/N, that I’d really like to kiss you right now. But if you didn’t then that’s-”
Spencer tries to finish the sentence, to give Y/N an out, but somehow she doesn’t take it. Somehow she decides to kiss him.
Spencer has kissed a total of three people in his entire life, but none of them ever mattered again the second he feels Y/N’s lips against his and her hands in his hair. Spencer doesn’t complain when Y/N starts to set the pace. Her lips roam across his face. They venture across his jaw, up closer to his nose and then back down to his lips. Spencer had no clue Y/N can kiss like this. It's a little passionate for a first kiss, but maybe it's just the pent up tension and frustration 2 years in the making finally being let out. He's dreamt of the way that Y/N's pillowy lips would feel when they were finally pressed up against his. Spencer, from the fibers that make him up to the hormones that surge throughout his body, tries to be brave. He places his hands so they rest on Y/N’s neck. He’s not passive, but he’s happy to sit back and let Y/N have her way as she continues her feverish assault on his lips.
Her ministrations are interrupted, however, when the box of cards falls from Spencer’s lap. It seems to remind both of them that they are in the stairwell of the FBI making out like over zealous teenagers for the first time. Y/N lets out a small giggle. Spencer wishes he can write down the feeling it gives him and tuck it away safely in a shoe box.
“I hope you know that those compliments aren’t platonic, Spencer. I really do think you’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever met,” Y/N says, her fingers gravitating to the brown curls behind Spencer’s ears. He has the softest, silkiest hair she’s ever felt.
“That’s a good thing, Y/N, because you’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever met,”
Standing up, Y/N winks and pecks Spencer on the cheek, “I hate to break it to you, darling, but I think I win when it comes compliments,”

It was obvious how tense and awkward jaemin was the entire time you stayed at his house, which lasted longer than you thought. You stayed for two days, per jaemins request, and you thought what if he's finally angry and decides to break. No, it was the complete and utter opposite. Jaemin was sweet, something you've barely seen when he used to bully or make fun of you before all this happened. He made sure you were okay staying with him another night and took care of you when you weren't hungover.
Did anything special happen though? Nope, just you and jaemin cuddling every so often while binge watching Netflix shows while he sometimes cracked jokes here and there.
It was definitely a sight to see. Even made you wonder if this is what its like to date him.
"Nana," you spoke, jaemin lifting his head off your shoulders to give you his attention, "Get up, we need to go to school."
Jaemin groaned, putting his head down on your pillow like chest and began, "Can't we just skip school?" He whined, "Maybe play a bit too?" Jaemin lifted his chin up, placing it on top of your breasts as he pouted, waiting for you to give into his cuteness.
Wouldn't that be nice- but you weren't going to miss school to mess around with jaemin. No way. You weren't even his girlfriend yet and you were sure his little play thing, seulgi, wouldn't be too happy, shes been calling him since he brought you here.
"No." You grabbed him by his hair and peeled him off your body. Jaemin wasn't very amused by the action.
"Oh i get it." He mumbled, "You want to see jeno, right?"
The question caught you off guard. But jaemin being jealous wasn't unknown to you anymore. He was possessive, that much you knew, and he always found a way to guilt trip you about it.
"I mean, we have been talking a lot more so a lil bit." You smiled, earning an eye roll from jaemin as he got up with nothing else to say and stalked his closet for something to wear. You glanced at your clothes which were actually his. And since you never went back to your apartment to get another outfit, you had to wear what you wore at the party.
Eyes stared into your bare back after you threw off the shirt that covered your body. They lingered, but didn't settle on staying until you slipped the bralette on.
Jaemin was going to comment about it, yet kept his mouth shut because there was no use saying he could give you a t-shirt instead, youd just complain about how it didn't match.
But the skirt was a different story. It was a party skirt, something way too short for school. No wonder jeno liked it. And to be honest, jaemin didn't hate it himself, he'd just rather not have people like jeno staring at you and your thighs. You were his. At least in his head you were.
"Fuck!" You screamed, "My bags at home." Softening your voice, jaemin just about wanted to smack you for scaring the shit out of him. He actually thanked the heavens your bag wasn't here, it gave you a reason to change.
"Let's go to your place quickly before school starts." Jaemin grabbed his things and you nodded, following behind him almost speed walking because of how long his strides were. "And change when we get there too."
You looked down at your fit and hummed, stepping into the car ready for jaemin to go.
"I don't think I can handle trig anymore." You bit your lip at the paper in hand. Jaemin looked down over your shoulder and almost scoffed. It was the homework due today, of course it was also one of the hardest pages the professor had given the class too, making it ten times harder for you to finish.
"If you had come over these past few nights, you wouldn't be so stressed." Jaemin shrugged.
It was like you knew he would say that with the way you rolled your eyes and crumpled the paper up, "Im actually thinking of dropping that class." You stated.
"Dont." He rested a hand on your shoulder, "Come over later and I'll help you." It wasn't even a question, in fact it was him telling you to do something. Its clear jaemins had enough of you ignoring him and hes also fed up with your complaining. Even wondered why you held out this long.
"But-"
"I'm not taking no for an answer anymore." Jaemin stated sternly as he sighed, stopping in front of your classroom and put his hands in his pocket. "Stop trying to ignore me," he leaned forward, just inches away from your face, "its not working."
"Just because you think its not working doesn't mean its not working...." You tilted your head to the side questioning your own words, "Anyway, you're jealous." Crossing your arms and leaning against the wall, your ego fed off of jaemins glaring eyes.
"Bullshit," jaemin tsked, "why would I be jealous?"
You smirked despite knowing you were playing a dangerous game with him. And jaemins good at playing games, he's done it to you for years.
You took a step forward, ultimately getting closer to his still leaned over figure and said, "You kept staring at jeno and I at the cafe and you had an attitude the entire time. Its obvious you know." Slithering a hand up his cheek, you pinched his smooth skin, "Nanas jealous."
It was an understatement to say jaemin didn't feel shivers go up his spine from your low voice. For once jaemin didn't have anything to come up with. Nothing crossed his mind to tell you that what you saw of him wasn't him being jealous, but that would be the dumbest of lies.
"Quiet for once? That's a first." You snickered at the small shade of red on his cheeks. It was either anger or him actually getting flustered. Either way you still claimed victory for keeping him surprisingly quiet.
Jaemin pulled your hand away from his face and opened his mouth, "Admit that you're purposely doing it then. There's no way you and jeno are magically good friends now. You hate him just as much as you hated me."
"Im not purposely making you jealous," you lied, "And I never hated jeno, just strongly disliked him for being friends with you."
The older almost laughed in your face from how stupid your lie was. "If you want my attention, say it." He smirked, proceeding to push you against the wall behind you without a second thought making you uncross your arms, "Its not hard y/n."
His hands trailed down to your waist, intensly watching your face as you looked around him, afraid that what he'd do will go too far and some students will see a not so innocent sight.
"Youre full of yourself." You inhaled sharply as he leaned forward ever so closely, just barely brushing his lips over yours.
"And you'll be full of nana soon." Jaemin almost closed the space between you with his lips, but someone stopped him.
"Jaemin!!!" Seulgi came running up to jaemin in her cute high heeled shoes. Her hair bouncing perfectly against her back as she pulled him away from you and into a hug, not before she planted a kiss to his lips as if you weren't standing right there, "I haven't seen you in so long, babe. You didn't call." She pouted with more puppy eyes than normal.
You missed the way jaemin growled at her, almost throwing seulgi off him since you were so focused on them kissing. Never did you think you'd witness it either. Something about it made your stomach churn and you couldnt bare stand there for long before walking away, taking zero notice of the way jaemin called out for you.
"Let's get some coffee before the bell rings." Seulgi pulled jaemin, but his eyes still lingered on the door you entered.
You couldnt stop your mind from racing in class. It was like your mind was playing games on you, telling you that jaemin wasn't in the slightest interested in you and thats why he never answered you, because he was too embarrassed to be seen with someone like you.
But that was only you overthinking.
Obviously jaemin cared for you, he wouldnt have let you stay over his house, tutored you, or be possessive when it came to you. So why did he kiss her back? In front of you too? Was he actually dating her for real?
These questions ran through your head, giving you a mini headache from thinking too hard about it.
It was like you were in high school all over again where everything was dramatic for no reason, well in some aspects you made it this way, but your point still stands.
"Y/n," someone tapped the table repeatedly, bringing you back to reality, "Class is over." jeno looked at you with suspicion but brushed it off thinking you were probably tired.
You glanced around the empty room before looking back at jeno, "Oh...yeah."
"Well uh," he scratched the back of his head, "You should probably get to your next class."
That's the last thing you wanted to do. Jaemin would be there and so was one of seulgis minions that always kept an eye out for anything he did. As annoying as it was, you weren't surprised anymore.
"Im gonna skip."
Jeno grimaced as you stood up and grabbed your things, walking towards the rooms exit as he followed close behind, "You? Skip? What the fuck??"
You stopped in your tracks, jeno almost bumbing into you in the process, "Do I need to spell it out for you or something? S-k-"
"No shut up. Its just shocking that your skipping." Jeno half grinned at the way you stared at him stoically.
"What are you getting at?"
The man before you chuckled, "Im saying youre a goody two shoes and you've never done a bad thing in your life."
You can't say he was wrong, but you also have to admit that you have stepped out of your shell recently and maybe for the better.
"Everyone changes some time in their lives." You pointed out, strolling out of the class to nowhere specific. "Better run to class jeno, dont want the teacher calling you put again."
"Yeah yeah." He eye smiled, giving you a quick pat on the back before saying bye and walking to his class.
You couldnt help but smile at him as he moved further and further away. You had to admit, jeno wasn't as bad as you thought. Not anymore anyway. But as jeno soon disappeared around a corner, you sighed and sauntered to the library where you were going to do your work until class ended.
Students were scattered everywhere in the library, some typing away at their laptops or school computers while others had papers and books sprawled out in front of them. Unfortunately for you, you were going to be the ones with almost any school supply in front of them. And with a sigh and slouched shoulders, you sat at an empty desk near the front of the library, taking your homework out as well as some books.
Normally it wouldn't be a problem for you to focus, but it was stressful with so many things laid out for you. Face palming and groaning quietly at your trig paper, you attempted the first problem which honestly didn't seem too bad, but you weren't always so sure of yourself when doing these kinds of things. Mostly because you second guessed yourself making you pick the wrong answer when you were originally right.
"This is so fucking stupid." You threw your head into your hands, giving up on trying since it was useless anyway. You needed jaemin. He was the only reason you started getting some good grades on your work.
"Whats stupid?"
Speak of the devil.
"The trig home- wait why aren't you in class?" You gazed at him before averting your eyes, not trying to let them linger too long.
Jaemin pulled a chair out and sat closely beside you, raising a brow as you inched away from him. "I could ask you the same thing." He tipped the chair back a little, keeping his eyes locked on the side of your stoic face.
"Im doing something if you can't tell." You snapped, instantly regretting the way your voice raised once you noticed jaemin clenching his jaw out the corner of your eye. But you couldnt help it, you were still frustrated, embarrassed, and jealous from earlier.
"Whats wrong?" Jaemin calmed himself, not wanting to blow up at you.
"Nothing." You ignored his eyes that watched you do out the problem. Probably silently telling you that it was all wrong but you weren't trying to pay attention to him.
"Youre doing it again."
"Doing what? I'm just trying to do my work." After writing your answer down, you checked over tbe work before you smiled to yourself. This had to be the right answer.
"Stop playing dumb." he grabbed your chin, "You know what you're doing."
Wiggling out of his grasp was no use, jaemin managed to move his hand to your jaw to keep you still.
You winced at the sudden squeeze, "I dont know what you're talking about."
Jaemin had enough of this bullshit, now grabbing your neck instead. Your eyes wondered the room hoping no one was paying attention, "Im not playing games with you. Why are you ignoring me again?"
"That's a good question." You looked away and though jaemims grip was starting to hurt more each second, you still found a way to show your disinterest.
Jaemin sighed, letting his hand drop and you inhaled deeply without a second thought. "Whats wrong then?"
"I told you its nothing."
"Bullshit." Jaemin took the pencil out of your hand just as you were about to write, your hand flying up to try and take it back but he pulled away.
"You really wanna know then?" You asked sharply to which jaemin nodded, "You kissed seulgi. Happy now?"
Jaemins mouth fell at your confession. Yes he figured that upset you a bit, but he never thought it was enough for you to ignore him.
"I never even went that far with jeno."
"Never went that far, huh?" He snapped back, shaking his head in disbelief as his face once again was steaming with anger. "Need i remind you how you made out with him at the party. Or were you that wasted and cant remember?"
The new found anger overlapped the previous one with more than just anger, but annoyance. There was no way jaemin was telling the truth, you would never kiss jeno.
"No i didnt."
"Dont tell me you didn't, I fucking saw it." His hand found its way on the table creating a loud bam that startled not only you, but a few kids that even lifted their heads to see what caused the noise. "You were the first one to go that far, so blame yourself before you blame me."
Taking a deep breath, you had to calm down before you said something you'd regret. Knowing jaemin too, you already had something waiting for you at his house.
"I believe you." Jaemin was ready to open his mouth but you were quick and responded, "because i remember." The problem with this answer was because it was untruthful. You already dug yourself a whole from the beginning yet you knew what you were getting yourself into. There was something about playing with jaemins anger that made you go wild.
Determined with your lie, you kept the straightest face like it was proof you recalled that night. Jaemin too was focused only on your face, his hand balling into a fist ever so slowly.
"I remember....he was a really good kisser," you whispered, "And you looked so mad." Snickering away at your words, you placed a hand on jaemins lap and watched his expression go from anger to almost frothing at the mouth.
Bingo. He was too far gone to see through you at this point and this is where you smirked to yourself.
"You're unbelievable." He scoffed, rolling his eyes thinking about how fed up he was, "Lets go."
Despite being told what to do, you sat looking between jaemin and your sprawled out homework. "I have things to do."
Jaemin literally shoved all your papers into your bag, not caring how they crumpled in the small space as you complained and swatted at his arm. Of course though, jaemin payed no mind to it, grabbing your hand and bag before dragging you out of the library.
You fought and struggled to get out of his grip. From the start you knew what you were getting into, that's why you did what you did. Now being dragged to his house it dawned on you that it was time to suffer whatever he had in mind.
"When we get to my house," jaemin locked his eyes with yours as he led you to his car, "We'll study trig, and depending on my mood and your attitude after, I might go easy with the punishment later."
"Im not going over to study and then be punished afterwards." Your voice faltered as you saw a familiar someone walking towards you and jaemin.
Jenos eyes lit up sadistically, smiling at you, telling you to smile back for one reason: to set jaemin off.
You did without hesitation, jaemins hold getting tighter and tighter as he glared at his best friend who walked by, holding the proudest grin on his face.
Once at the car, jaemin shoved you inside the passenger seat, slamming the door before he situated himself in the drivers side. Your eyes watched in annoyance yet you were intrigued. Maybe because you haven't had any action with jaemin since about a week ago.
Resting your head against the headrest, you stared outside the window. There wasn't any way you could hold another conversation with the man, it would only drive your hormones insane.
Its been thirty minutes and to say you were paying attention would be the stupidest thing ever. every word that jaemin said went in one ear and out the other. Some part of you was purposely choosing to ignore him, but your attention span was almost non existent in the first place. So listening to jaemin talk about trigonometry was only boring you.
You tapped out, playing with your pencil or doodling on the paper. Each time you weren't paying attention, jaemin would ask you to write down the answer or a land a slap right on your thigh. It stung and made up jump with shock in your eyes as jaemin told you the same thing each time: "pay attention." But did you? God no. It was impossible. With the thought of a punishment too, it made your mind run like it was in a marathon.
"Little girl," jaemins voice once again brought you back to reality, "what did nana just say?" You shrugged your shoulders slightly, keeping your head down like you were shy yet you were far from it, holding a small grin on your innocent face.
"I dont know, nor do I care." You finally looked up. Jaemin was none too happy, letting his chest fall.
Shaking his head, he said once more to listen and pay attention.
Jaemin took your pencil so he could write out the problem for you, deciding to be nice even though you weren't returning it. You watched the way his pretty hands flexed with every number or letter he wrote. The subtle veins showing every so often too made you almost drool at the sight. Oh what you would do to have him wrap his hands around your neck again.
"Solve it." Jaemin threw the pencil down in front of you, resting his head in his hand to watch you. But you didn't move, not even a simple budge.
"No."
"Y/n its not that fucking hard, just solve it."
You glanced at the paper then the pencil that laid on the table before grabbing it and snapping it in half.
"Im not doing it." You faked a smile, ready for jaemin to snap just like the pencil.
"You need to pass this class, y/n. Stop messing around and pay attention."
You shot up from your seat, "I. Dont. Care. I'm going home."
It wasn't long before he suddenly stood up too, grabbing you by the hair and threw you on his bed, "Okay you wanna act up?" He hovered over you, pinning your arms down on the soft bed as he straddled your lower half. "I dont get why you continue to act like a brat when you know you're going to be punished. Unless you want it?" Jaemins face was merely inches in front of yours not until you blew into his face and smirked when he flinched and pulled away.
"Ever wonder why I act this way? Your easy to push, I can get in your head and make you get mad so I get exactly what I want." You snickered, "Not to mention its to make you suffer for not answering my question." A hand was placed on his covered chest, rubbing small circles on the fabric of the shirt.
Suddenly, jaemin laughed. Though, it wasn't a joyful one. It was more sadistic and filled with amusement, "How is it making me suffer if you're the one about to be punished?"
"Cuz i still get what I want in the end."
"My dick or my attention?"
"Both."
Jaemnn chuckled dryly, quickly sitting back and tearing your clothes off without a second thought.
You were ready to protest about your clothes until jaemin took matters in his own hands and shoved his fingers nearly down your throat to shut you up.
"Im tired of your voice." He spat, "All you talk is shit."
Whimpering around his fingers, you tried anything in your power to try and pry them out. He never moved back, sticking his fingers deeper and deeper until he heard you gag and whine the best you could. Your throat felt so tight and it was getting harder to breathe. Jaemin didn't care, deciding to just fuck your mouth with his fingers as he started pulling your pants and panties down, lifting his hips up so he can take them off all the way.
"It would be so much nicer if you weren't a brat you know." Jaemin began, easily shoving two fingers inside your dripping cunt, "Nana could've stuffed you full of his cock, made love to you, and made you happy. Instead," his fingers that were buried in your heat, curled and pushed in a certain way that made your eyes roll, "You wanted to be a little bitch."
You drew out a long hum, the pleasure felt so good after pushing jaemin for so long. All his anger was going to this one punishment and you should've felt scared, but you weren't. You were excited and loved every bit of it.
The way he fingered you was almost too surreal. It made your body crumple against his will and he wasn't even fucking you yet.
It was getting harder to breathe being filled by his two fingers. Just barely becoming too overwhelming so you tapped his hand to signal you needed to breathe. Jaemin took his hand out, watching your face to make sure you were okay as you gasped for air.
"Are y-you try-trying to kill me or s-something?" You moaned at one particular hard thrust that made your breath hitch.
"Oh shut up, I know you liked it. Probably imagined my cock down your throat." He bit his lip, taking in the thought of what you would look like on your knees for him before shaking it off.
"I-i was n-not."
Jaemin smirked devishly, scissoring his fingers to stretch you out more, but you kept clenching around him. Your hand grabbed his wrists in a death grip, moans fell from your open mouth and jaemin ate that all up. Loving how your body shook, knowing you were so close.
Right when you felt your orgasm coming, jaemin ripped his fingers out of you, essentially letting your juices flow out. But you didn't cum, no you were just that wet.
Your hips lifted up like you would get friction but there was nothing to get friction from, you looked dumb and pathetic.
"Not fair..." you mumbled, frowning at the annoying smirk on jaemins face.
"Punishments aren't supposed to be fair," he said a matter of factly, pushing your hips back down on your bed as he grazed his fingers over your wetness before pushing back in again.
This time setting a ruthless pace, taking in your fucked out expression.
"Jaemin- please im s-so close." Fidgeting and clawing at his wrists, the orgasm built back up. It got closer, closer, closer. Right there, it was right there, but jaemin took it away from you again.
"God, I love this way more than I should. Breaking a brat is so much fun." His fingers dripped with your arousal. He stared at the strand connecting his fingers. It was so much and so lewd, it should've been embarrassing to you yet it made him want more from you. "How many times should nana edge his pretty girl? Maybe-"
"Fuck you." You cried, ready to take this into your own hands and finish yourself off.
Jaemins hand made a perfect necklace on your neck, tightening his grip on the sides so you felt all his anger, "Thats the last thing I would say if I were you."
"W-what are y-you gonna do? Spank me?" Thinking he actually would if you said that, you were slapped across the face, eyes not staring at jaemin anymore but the wall next to the bed.
"Dont test me anymore, your already in for it." He growled into your ear. Leaving his hand wrapped around your neck, he slipped back inside, this time fucking his fingers into you at an antagonizing slow pace.
You wanted to scream and push him away for being a tease, but you reminded yourself that this is what you wanted, this was what you'll get. You had no idea how long this pain will continue though. All you could think about was cumming. In fact, that was the only thing on your mind as he fingered your tight pussy. The pain of not being able to orgasm was so unbearable, it just about made your eyes tear up. Were you that desperate that you'd cry over it?
"I wanna...c-cum so bad..."
The man above you stared at you in disbelief. He basically just started and you were already a mess.
"You really want to cum that badly?" You nodded hastily, tears at the brink of falling, you couldnt hold it in anymore, "Then apologize for all the shit you put us through. Starting with you ignoring me, fake dating jeno, and purposely pissing me off for the hell of it." Jaemin said with his whole chest. Being able to say it out loud reminded him of everything. From the time you started this crap, to now.
"I-im sorry- I'm so f-fucking sorry, jaemin." You forced yourself to look into his eyes, his angry red eyes that tore into your soul to find any lie, yet you had none. You meant what you said with full honesty, "Please nana, l-let me cum."
Jaemin simply gave you a nod and thats when you let everything out. You came all over his fingers but jaemin didn't stop nor slow down. He kept the same rough pace as before and you could only scream and cry from the sensitivity.
Then jaemin started rubbing and pinching your sensitive clit before giving your cunt a slap that made you jolt and cry out.
"Ahh- w-wait jae-mmm....s-so sensitive."
Jaemin rolled his eyes, "thought you wanted to cum? I'm giving you what you want, babe."
Your legs closed around his fingers though it didn't stop him from curling and fucking them inside. He could just easily push them open yet he found your sensitivity amusing which led you to cum again without warning.
"What a pathetic little fucking brat you are." He gathered the white substance that leaked from your clentching hole and shoved it back in, "Making such a mess of yourself."
Your back arched, even more sensitive than before.
The hand on your neck moved down to your breast, squeezing at your nipples and playing with everything he could get his hand on. Your nipples were so sensitive that that alone could make you cry and moan just from a simple touch.
His fingers brushed against your sweet spot where you screamed his name. Being over sensitive made everything feel more pleasurable and painful. Every small touch on your pussy brought you to a shaking pleasure that you couldnt control. It was becoming too much and too overwhelming.
"Fuck, are you gonna cum again? It hasn't even been five minutes." He watched, eyes filled with amazement as you shook and once again, came on his sheets and fingers.
Your shaking didn't stop though, it was like the kind of shake you get when your cold, though you were far from it. The intensity of this orgasm was just too much where even jaemin had to pull his fingers out and let you breathe for a moment.
"You okay, baby?" He asked quietly, kissing your temple as you nodded your head, "Can you give nana one more then?" Not wanting to stop, you nodded without a thought causing jaemin to smile and lean back.
Jaemin finally got rid of his clothing, crawling back on the bed before giving you a kiss so you wouldn't notice how he slipped his cock inside.
Surprisingly jaemin took his time pushing in, savoring your sweet little moans that drove him crazy. He started and kept a slow pace that made the overwhelming feeling dissolve away. Now you were wrapping your legs around his waist and staring into the soft eyes of jaemins that were just red a second ago.
Every vein against your walls made you feel ecstasy. Jaemin was careful with each thrust and it felt like pure love. They were passionate and he didn't fail to show it.
"Taking nanas cock so well, just like the good girl you are." Jaemin smiled at your beautiful face that contorted into pleasure. Both of your moans filled the room. More cuss words were thrown from you like it was the only thing in your dictionary.
The lewd sounds of your bodys bounced off the walls as jaemin fucked you slow and steady, grabbing your hips gently as he kissed all over your face, neck, and breasts. He sucked on your skin here and there, creating small bruises that looked like a tattoo as you grabbed the back of his head, lifting him up by the hair to bring his face to yours so you could place a kiss to his red lips.
The kiss was sloppy and slow. Neither of you cared though, both focused on your orgasms that kept coming closer.
Jaemins thrusts stuttered and his cock twitched inside you. The hand in jaemins hair pulled and messed up his locks, sure to create a messy sight later on.
" 'm gon-gonna cum." You moaned, lifting your hips up to meet his along the way.
"Cum, princess."
The final orgasm left your body feeling like it was on a cloud while all you saw were stars making jaemin coo at your fucked out face.
Pulling out, jaemin finished on your stomach before letting his body fall next to yours, wrapping an arm around your hips and pulling you into him..
You both panted out of tiredness, neither one bothering to move as you were both spent.
"Did I hurt you, princess? Are you feeling okay?"
You smiled into his chest, "no you didn't hurt me and I feel fine."
"Good." Jaemin smiled, petting your hair before laying his head on top of yours, "Wanna go on a date?"
You swear your heart stopped as your face heated up, "Jaemin, you're doing everything backwards."
"So is that a yes or no?"
"Of course its a yes!"
It was a peaceful restaurant that jaemin brought you to, saying it was supposed to be a place a lot of couples went to which you thought was absolutely sweet of him.
"So...uh." jaemin looked anywhere but your face like he didn't just have sex with you for the second time.
You snickered and sipped the drink in your hand, "Why are you so awkward all of a sudden? Its just me."
"I know it's just- I feel like I can't say what I wanna say because I'm afraid." Jaemin sighed.
"Of what exactly?" You placed the drink down, watching as jaemin fumbled with the menu before he covered his mouth and mumbled something you coulsnt quite grasp, "What did you say?"
"...nothing."
"Jaemin."
His doe eyes stared into yours like it was some sort of contest, wanting you to look away first but you and he did, "Alright fine. I said I'm a bit nervous if I were to ask you out."
Tilting your head to the side, you puffed your cheeks out in confusion, "Why?"
"The last relationship I had, the girl cheated on me. Afterwards she said it was because i wasn't good enough." He frowned, returning his attention back to the menu where you presumed was his hiding place for the time being.
"Well she's a bitch and is missing out on an amazing person." You pushed the menu down, "Is that why you acted that way when you saw jeno and I at the cafe? Did you think I thought you weren't good enough?"
Jaemin nodded slowly, "Kind of. I didn't want to lose someone I loved again."
"Loved? Na jaemin-"
"Dont say it." He groaned.
"You've gotten soft! Does this mean what I think it means?" You quirked a suggestive brow at him causing him to put his head in his hand.
"Yes, ill be your boyfriend." He said in his hand before you took it away and grabbed his face to kiss him. "I- princess when did you become do confident?"
"When did you become so shy?"
"Fair point."
Everything felt right all of a sudden. No more of jaemin being your bully. No more coffee being poured on your head. No more stupid high school drama that wasn't even drama in the first place. It was all right for once. And you couldnt say you could complain. After weeks, you got what you struggled to have before; na jaemin.

Chapter 4: I found
Hours had gone by! Bucky was caught of guard with the smell of fire. Faint...but distinct enough he knew it wasn’t his imagination. The chilled air dragged a whiff of the combined scents of fog, smoke, and very faintly in the background... HER!
She was close! He could feel it! This wasn’t new territory to him, but he wondered how she’d ended up hours from her home. He followed the wind, blowing ashes by his face. Leaving a trail, that called to him as if nature was guiding him to her. All the odds were against her tonight, but the forest smelled safe! It was like it protect her from the evil of the elements.
After a couple of minutes on the trail, it hit him! The smell blew the air out of his lungs, he approached the small faded fire with caution. Not wanting to scare her off. As he got closer he noticed her small frame. She was attempting to stand up, but doing so knocked her directly into the fading red embers of where a fire used to be.
The world disappeared for him at that moment! It was her! Just him and her!
And she smelled delicious! Everything is his being screaming to make her his in this very spot, and vanish with her. Nobody to find them! As long as she was there, there was nothing he’d want in this life or another! She was the trophy and the torture, that cursed through him. To love, but never poses. How could he even be thinking of love right now? He hadn’t even looked into her eyes yet.
What if she hated him?
What if she didn’t recognize him?
How was he gonna explain what’s going on to her? She has to know what her body wants right now, what it’s craving for her to do! And how much he wishes to not crave her in the same way.
He bolted to her with all his might, and caught her calling frame. As her eyes slowly faded into unconsciousness, peace resonated in her eyes. He’d dreamed of those eyes for years! And as her body went limp on his arms all he could do was hold her close and pray for the strength to keep her alive and safe... from himself!
She opened her eyes as they adjusted to the moonlight above her. Her body was covered in a warm flannel, she didn’t recognize the source of it.She remembered the eyes she saw before losing consciousness.
Had it all been a dream?
She felt like her limbs were on fire! They responded to every bit of stimulation the flannel was rubbing upon her body. She realized it wasn’t the flannel that was causing her body to jolt up at the feeling of touch; It was that it smelled like an alpha. Her body was trying to absorb as much of him as it could! She was unconsciously reacting to him and granting him access to her.
Hearing a branch break from behind the forest bush, she sprung up as quickly as her body allowed her to react and grabbed a beach from her side.
“Who’s there?” She was in full alarm, she also noticed the fire she had started had been reignited, and was fully blazing and strong!
“What do you want from me? And for the love of... “
She noticed that the reason she had the flannel on was for her own modesty, because underneath the flannel she was as naked as she was brought into the world.
“ Why am I naked? ”
Bucky noticed her panic as he approached the camp again. He’d gone out to get some more firewood and clay to dress her wounds. He wasn't expecting for her to be so recovered.
“I’m sorry ... I didn’t mean to startle you! I'm here to help.”
He put his arms up, to show her he wasn’t a threat, dropping the contest of his arms to the ground! “I was just getting us some more fire, and you need something for your wound... it doesn’t look good!” he fixed his hair back with one of his free hands, a nervous habit he had kept since childhood.
She furrowed her brow, and took a swing of the branch startling him and forcing him to step back. ” I bet you would you know what wound need tending to?” She replied with a cocky attitude! She imagined he would’ve had to look at her body while he took her clothes off, but the realization that her body was not in display contrition made her blush for a moment.
Ignoring the heat rising to her cheeks, and the small pit of embarrassment in the pit of her stomach. She put on a brave face! As he got closer her body reacted to his presence.
He was tall! Always had been, but despite the fact she’s grown since he last saw her, he still sported a good foot above her. She lowered her stance and let go of her makeshift weapon.
Taking a step back, she tripped, and stumbled back. Bucky tried catching her, but before he could he lost his own footing and tackled her body to the ground.
There she was!
Looking like a goddess underneath him, in a flannel, with her little confused doe eyes! She didn’t even try to fight him off. They just stared at each other's eyes, for a small eternity that what theirs to have.
They could both see their changing features, the fire’s light shone on Bucky to reveal his dark black hair. There were messy strays surrounding his face, but the rest was neatly tucked behind his ears. Stubble framed his face, and his jaw was the jaw of a man. It was also an awkward time to notice how much muscle he’d gained in the last 10 years. His body was solid on top of her, even through his shirt, his body told his story! He was a man of work! His body was that of a man who did hard labor, a man who was outside for long periods of time. Which was something she could tell as she noticed the tan in his upper neck had begun fading as the weather grew colder.
His muscles responded to her stare in ways she couldn’t pinpoint!
He on the other hand noticed her delicate face, the way she had grown into her childhood innocence and beauty. Her frame was so small and breakable compared to him. He for a moment thought he could easily crush her, and tried to ease his weight to make it lighter on her.
Her hair was gorgeously long! It surrounded her like a halo, fit for her like an angel. And her eyes where large and expressive. He could’ve read those eyes a million ways years ago, but now! He couldn’t help but wonder what they were trying to say.
He couldn’t stop himself as the word slipped from his lips.
“Doll!”
He placed his knee between her legs and pushed on the palm of his hands in an effort to lift his body weight off of her.
“Don’t call me that! Haven’t heard that in a long time”... she wiggled under his body and pushed him off her “ that name used to be special to me”
She tried to stand up, but a dizzy spell forced her to remain seated on the ground. Looking at his hurt expression a few more seconds that she wanted to.
“ I really missed you!” Her eyes filled with tears that threatened to roll down her cheek as she tried to stare forward, but he would still read her pained face. “ When you caught me. I thought I was dying! ..and you weren't real”
“ Im sorry! Im so sorry! I shouldn’t have left you just like that!”
He sat down next to her frame, he noticed how her body was shivering, even close to the fire. Her smell was spiking up. He knew that once morning came he’d have to rush her to Steve as soon as possible! But for now, he just wanted to enjoy her! Just enjoy her own smell one last time.
“I never stopped thinking about you!” He lowered his face to the palms of his hands. It was there when she noticed. One of his hands wasn't quite his. It was a lusterly metal, but it still radiated his energy, and warmth.
“I'm sorry too! I shouldn't have interrupted whatever it is you guys do in the village...” she was guarded! Her body tensed up as she talked, a knife in her words ” a lowlife like me getting lost... that’s what it took for you to care again” the tears began to fall, a combination of her hormones, and now shock!
Her body was changing and she couldn’t do anything about it, and now the ghost of her former best friend was back. She didn’t know how to process. She was stronger than this! Why was her body dissolving her to her nature?
Bucky wanted to embrace her! To say so many things, but nothing felt like enough to him.
“Listen now it’s not the time for... ” as he stood up he heard her let out a pain filled grunt. Her hand reached out to grab his thigh, as she doubled over to the ground in pain.
He quickly reacted to her pain, and kneeled down next to where she now laid doubled over on the cold moist ground.
“No, no ,no , no listen to me doll... you have to pull through!” He positioned his body as comfortably as he could for her “ I can’t help you... I’m not supposed to...”
He’d made a mistake! He’d coated her in his smell from the moment he held her in his arms. Her body was screaming for an alpha and it was only going to get worse till an alpha helps her body respond to it’s needs.
From the little life she had a few minutes ago, this little omega at his feet was shaking, and frail!
“I’m sorry, doll…” he looked around in distress “please just stay with me! We have to make it till morning! Please just look at me...tell me you’re alright! “ he cradled her small body and held her close to him.
As a strong wave of her scent hit his nostrils, and a small seizure overcame her body.
Bucky knew what he had to do!
But he wanted to make sure he had well enough exhausted all of his options. It would be selfish of him not to admit he wanted to help her.
“ Bucky... am I gonna die? ” she looked up at him with pained eyes, she was suffering! He used his shirt to wipe down the trails of blood exiting her nose. He wanted to help her so badly! She was nuzzled up against his body, shivering and looking more lifeless by the moment.
Her body was rejecting her omega change!
Bucky knew the fever wasn’t a good sign! But with the seizures that were now overtaking her body every few minutes, it was confirmed to him that she was moments away from collapsing upon herself. An alpha made an omega stronger! It was in their nature!
She needed an alpha !
As he held her in the heart of the forest, illuminated by the light of the moonlight, he could see the teardrops of red leave her eyes. Tears the color of fire!
And when the moon was above then at its brightest, Bucky looked up at the sky, and then down at her “Im sorry doll! I'm about to let you down one more time... I hope you can forgive me one day” as he exposed her neck to him, her untouched mating gland on full display to him.He carefully extracted his canines, and like a soft kiss, he bit her!
He knew Steve wasn’t going to be happy, and quite frankly he was even more scared of her finding out he’d taken away her choice!

I love, love, love you ❤️ I was hoping I could request where the main character begs for Yandere Light to let her get a doggo bc she’s so lonely since he made her quit a job. Like full on having a full ass fit. I’m talking full blown brat shit. Just how he would react and what she would have to do to convince him if you catch that drift 😏😉
yeah, i know what i said in my last post. whatever. never believe anything that comes out of my stupid mouth i am the single biggest sob in the universe.
um… i took this in a… direction to say the least. someone has to stop me from riding suck n’ ride smut bc… it always goes like this.
next light smut there is going to be ass-eating or i swear to god my name isn’t kerry literally all im thinking about is giving him a rimjob. really. this is where we are at folks.
warnings: smut, face fucking (oops), dick sucking, sex, rough sex. he not happy boi
word count: 3.5k
All you did was watch dog videos anymore. Of course, you watched them because you literally had little else to do during the day, but you just… happened to be more open about it when Light came through the door. Did it have anything to do with the fact you’ve been thinking about getting a furry friend to keep you company from the silence of an empty house and the dark recesses of your mind?
No, of course not. It had nothing at all to do with it, and it certainly had nothing to do with the fact that if you ask him directly, he would say no before any more words could breach the air. You would have to be creative, because when Light said “no,” there was no more argument, and you wanted this argument.
“A Pug. Wow. Beautiful.”
“Look, it’s a—it’s a Corgi. Oh my—wow. That’s amazing.”
You’d play around with different sizes.
“This Mastiff? This gentle giant? Can do nothing wrong.”
“This Bichon matches with the snow!”
And you’d talk about listings you just happened to see online from the local shelters.
“This one—wow. All of her shots. She looks so nice. Oh, and potty trained! What a girl. Damn.”
“He’s sitting down—oh a paw. I see a paw. Can he do the other paw? Oh, yes he can. Also has all his shots. Wonderful.”
Considering the man you lived with, you were pretty positive that he figured out your intentions day one or day two max. It’s been about a week since you’ve been… outgoing in your interest. At this point, it was a game as to who would break first. You bet he was waiting for you to get annoyed with his ignoring of anything you said related to the subject with how blatant he was with shirking you off, forcing you to simply ask.
You weren’t going to make it so easy on him. Though he happened to be the king of hiding his emotions, you knew you had to be getting to him. Light would never admit it, and he would certainly never show it. He wanted to keep that satisfaction as far away from you as possible.
So, you turned up the heat.
Before, you would break off the dog topic after a time, wanting to etch it in your daily schedule only bits at a time. Now? It’s the only thing you talk about, no matter the actual subject at hand.
“There’s another event we have to—.”
“The animal shelter is having an event in the park next week for adoptions.”
“I’m going to have to go for groceries soon.”
“Look at this weenie dog dressed in a weenie costume.”
“I—.”
“Doggo cute.”
It was only a matter of time until—.
“This French Bulldog is—.”
“Y/N.” His voice was clear, demanding. Even after all this time, like a teacher scolding elementary students, it immediately brought you to silence. You sat on your shared bed, legs crossed, as he leered down at you from the bathroom. “I would say it was cute at first, but you know it’s a waste of time to try asking anything indirectly. As if I would succumb to your manipulation, but I let you carry on. You would get bored. You would stop and think and realize that it was pointless to keep it up, but you persisted. I thought to myself maybe you were just trying to see if I would crack and give you the satisfaction of indulging in your antics, and I was right.
“It begs the question. Why didn’t you just ask directly? Easy. Because I would say no, and you would be correct. To allow something else besides me your devotion? Not likely. But what? Did you think showing me videos of Shibu Inus and Pomeranians would make me want one first? You have the logic of a six-year-old, Y/N,” Light began to unbutton his shirt, “Did you honestly think it would work? Or did you simply want to get a rise out of me?” He removed the shirt entirely, then lifted his undershirt over his head just as easily. Light tossed the fabric into the hamper, leaving a pale, lithe abdomen on display. He turned to fully face you and took two easy steps forward. “Why would you want one in the first place? Have I not given my fiancée enough attention recently? Is this your way of getting back at me, hm?”
You were almost at an even height to his belt buckle, but you did your best to ignore that as his eyes demanded attention upwards. His gaze was near malicious, but not quite so. Ah. Lascivious. That’s what they were. You swallowed the knot out of your throat.
“Y-you wish.”
“Your hesitation is very resounding. Then, if you’re so sure, indulge me. Don’t tell me you wanted a distraction from your loving husband-to-be. I know you didn’t want something else to focus on besides me when I’m away at work, so tell me. Tell me why you desired a filthy, shedding ball of fur. Your answer may earn you some mercy.”
You unfolded your legs from underneath you as your foot began to numb under the weight of your leg. Your hands glided back and forth on your thighs. Was there a point in lying? No, scratch that. Was there a point in lying to someone who already knew the truth? Well, his own truth that Light would undoubtedly make yours. There was little purpose in making it worse on yourself.
“No, you’re—uh—right.” Light set his hands on his hips.
“Oh?”
“Yeah, I’m just… lonely when you’re at work. So… yeah.” You risked a peek upwards. Oh, geez the smirk on that fucker. “I’m sorry.” His arms rose from his hips to cross over his chest.
“For?”
“Huh?”
“What are you sorry for? Annoying me for days with your drivel? Wanting a mutt? Lying?” You furrowed your brows. “Oh, that one confused you, hm? Alright, well, if you won’t admit it, I can do it for you. Lonely-“ he scoffed- “You can’t be serious. Such a blatant lie from your lips. The second time you are insulting my intelligence. I’ll ask one more time. Where does your motivation lie?”
“I’m not lying!” You hissed, jumping off the mattress to stand. “What—just what am I supposed to do all day cooped up in this place like a goddamned prisoner? Clean? The place is clean. Cook? As if you’d even let me try. Watch TV? My brain is rotting. You don’t even let me help kids with math anymore online. Just what am I to do? Next thing I may just throw myself out the window—,” Hands gripped your shoulders, causing a slight pain at the intensity.
“You think I’d let you? I expect you to stay here and be good and thankful that you are where you are. I, just as much as you, know—knew women who died to be in your shoes, and you’re ungrateful to be alive and safe? You want more?” You tried to shrug out of his grip, and he allowed you to take the steps away from him.
“I’m asking to be a human being, for fuck’s sake! I’m going to sit here and go crazy. Isn’t it enough that I don’t fuck with the rules anymore? I’m quiet. I don’t say anything. I put every façade you ask me to. All I want is something for me! Something to distract me from literally going insane here! To distract me from everything.”
Light’s eyes sometimes spoke more truth than his mouth ever could. Right about now, the browns were all-consuming, aflame with ire, but his lips were upturned in a challenge.
“A distraction. Caught in a lie, Y/N. Bad form, even for you. After all this time, you still can’t face reality, dearest. I knew you’ve been pitting your mind in some gutter you call the truth. Makes this all easier to accept, but to go to the physical extent? I won’t allow it, and you won’t be able to recess your mind for long, so enjoy that pleasure while you can.” He paused, countenance recessing to something more composed. “You love me, don’t you, Y/N?”
“Yes.” There was no hesitation, no lie in that affirmation. It was the easiest of his questions to answer. “I love you.” Light inhaled deeply, chest flexing with the exhale.
“With love comes compromise, correct?” You responded with a glare. His tone was all too insinuating. “So, let’s compromise, yes? I hate arguing with you.” He reached an arm out, hand open. Your eyes glanced between the extended limb and his eyes before cautiously taking it. His hand squeezed and pulled you in tight. Light twisted and adjusted you so when he fell onto the bed, you landed comfortably on his lap. Releasing your hand, he brought his own up to gingerly glide his fingers across your cheek, a trail of bumps in its wake as it curled into your locks. Almost like a lover. Almost.
His fingers seized the strands and pulled, forcing your head back and opening your neck for his mouth to latch. “Then compromise, dearest. Prove to me what you think you deserve.” He spoke against your skin, open-mouth kisses with a hint of teeth between his words. “And I’ll make judgement.” His hand let go of your hair and traced to the back of your skull to slant your lips onto his impatient ones. The other wrapped itself to pull your body closer until he pushed you off with an unexpected force, almost knocking you to the ground.
From the unbalanced position, you watched him adjust his position to lie in the center of the bed, head angled to watch you from the pillows with both his hands as another cushion for his crown. Light smirked, watching you stand straight. “Well, go on. Compromise.”
Light was never on the bottom. It was non-negotiable. Being anything else was utterly unacceptable for a god. This situation, despite the physical placement of both bodies, was no different. You may be the one crawling on top of him, fiddling with his belt buckle, but he had every bit of this situation in his control. Under his watchful gaze, you removed the strip of leather and threw it across the room.
“You’re going to have to help me here,” you muttered after undoing the fly. Wordlessly, he obliged, allowing you to slip the trousers off of his person. You glanced at his feet. Thank god he took his shoes off already, so he only lied in his boxers.
No, you would never be accustomed to this.
“You always look like it’s your first time,” he remarked. “As if you haven’t seen my cock before. From my recollection, you should be quite familiar with it by now.” You inhaled sharply. “Unless you don’t want to compro—.”
“Shut up,” you hissed, crawling to straddle his legs. “Just be quiet,” you said more quietly. You reached out to rub the only half-erect cock through the fabric. Only small groans were elicited above you. Light was not a noisy one, to say the least. It took your first, painful, terrible experience of deep-throating to even get him to moan fully.
“Do you think teasing is going to get you anywhere?” His voice is always composed during sex, and it really was alarming because… you really couldn’t relate. You glowered, fingers digging under the waistband and pulling. He helped again, lifting so you can get the fabric off. “If you think you’re doing anything fully clothed, I should take a cold shower.”
You made quick work of taking the layers of comfort clothes you had on, off. “You really know how to put on a show,” he deadpanned.
“Shut. Up.” You returned to your position, seeing his cock now fully erect from your previous work. You were sure you were wet, but you ignored it as best you could. You had a feeling you would not be serviced tonight. Before you can even lean down, he spoke again.
“Beg for it. Beg for the honor of sucking my cock. Convince me you deserve it if you believe you are so entitled.” There was not a single physical restriction to keep you from taking it into your mouth, but his words were powerful enough to keep you still. Light was daring you to try and misbehave, and you really couldn’t help the physical reaction his words always do to you.
“Please—,”
“Pathetic. I can have any girl in my bed. I can stick my cock in any person interested, and here you are, an ungrateful brat who wants more. You’re making quite an unremarkable argument for yourself. Perhaps I will take away—.”
“Please, Light. Allow me the honor of sucking your cock, of you fucking my throat. I want the privilege of swallowing your seed. Fuck—please. I’ll do anything.” You leaned down close, but not touching anything. You only lifted your eyes up to his. “Please. I know I’ve been bad. Please, let me make up for it.”
Your words in bed were always forced. He knew you hated dirty talk as much as you did, therefore he always made you speak, always made you confess how much you craved him, wanted him, and whenever you spoke it was hardly ever in lies. Your embarrassment was too prominent in your body language to tell him otherwise.
“Go on, then. Show me.” You licked up his length first, then around the head and back down. “Teasing will get you nowhere,” he repeated. You resisted the urge to roll your eyes and took him in, inch by inch. Light was incredibly average despite his ego. It wasn’t impossible to fit the entire length into your mouth with slow adjustment, but that didn’t mean it was fun. You would continue to work his length, getting more and less intense with your pressure and the speed your head bobbed. Still, there was little reaction from him, not there really never was any mind the grunts you could make out. Your inclinations to keep going, and you did until you pulled back.
“How’s—,” His hand was at the back of your head immediately, forcing your head back down, pushing his cock down your throat, pushing until you could feel his balls against your chin. No hair. He was pristine down there. You convulsed, gagged, choked, but he did not release his grip. Hand keeping its hold, he dragged your head up just a hair enough to thrust upwards. Water began to pool at the waterline of your eyes. You had to relax your throat, or this was going to be just worse.
But it was hard, so hard at the pace he was thrusting at. You squeezed your eyes shut and took it the best you can. Listening to his quiet grunts and groans, you forced your lips to continue covering your teeth, but you could not force your throat to loosen. Drool pooled at both sides of your mouth, carelessly falling into both him and the sheets along with the liquid of your tears.
“Your throat is so fucking tight. That’s it. Choke on my cock. This is what your dirty mouth deserves.” Your limited experience could be to blame for its restricting. That, or the selfishness of the man whose grip on your hair tightened even more right before he allowed you to breathe once more.
And breath you did. Gasping, reeling for air as drool continued to leak down. From beneath your hair, you looked at Light, his eyes wild and alive with lust. Small heaves from his smiling mouth mixed with your wet and heavy ones. “Do you think you deserved that, dearest?” You finally wiped your mouth and shook the spit from your arm. “You’re lucky I am so generous. Come. For doing such a decent job.” His hands patted his hips. Swollen eyes met his. “Ride me, before I change my mind and fuck you into the mattress.”
Regaining some semblance of control, you moved to straddle his length. “Oh, your pussy is glistening. Did me fucking your throat really do that much to you? You loved to be controlled, don’t you?” You did not answer, shaky hands guiding his cock so you can sink onto it. You groaned at the feeling. “Tell me how good it makes you feel. How only I can make you feel like this.” You bit your lip, sinking down another inch or so.
“God, Light. Your cock feels so good. Only yours can make me feel like this. No one—no man, no woman, no person—can make me feel anything—like—this—fuck!” You sunk down to the hilt before you lifted yourself again, easing yourself up and down his length. “It’s so good—so good.” Light allowed you more time but decided your gentle pace was not enough to soothe him. He roughly grabbed you and flipped your positions.
“Too slow, Y/N. What did I say about teasing?” He brought his hips back and then snapped them into yours. You screamed, and you wondered if the neighbors would call again, but his pace did not relent.
“Light—please. It’s too—too much! It’s too fast. I can’t…” He smiled, a wicked grin over you.
“And you won’t. Don’t you dare think about cumming. I decided you don’t deserve it. This is your compromise. You get to live, marry, and get fucked by me, and only by me, and I will only have eyes for you. You’ll never feel like you need a… distraction again.” You clenched your teeth and pushed your head farther into the pillows. “I feel you clenching onto me. Don’t you dare think about disobeying me.” His thrusts were even, balanced.
“Please, please, please let me cum. It feels too good. You feel too good. I’ll do anything.”
“Then don’t cum.” You threw your hands back and gripped the headboard, feeling it rock in rhythm to his thrusts. They were beginning to become, sloppy, wild, he was close while you were holding back for dear life. “Y/N. You are mine and mine alone. Your body. Your actions. Your mind. I am the only thing you are allowed to think about.” With one final push, his seed released, filling and coating your insides. He rode it out, making sure every drop stayed. He hated to have to wash the sheets after, though your drool stains remained.
Pulling out, he retreated and stood, ignoring your writing, unfulfilled form. “Come. You aren’t going to sleep like—get those hands away from there. Let’s get you clean before you ruin the sheets even more.” Like before, he extended his hand to your heaving form. “Alright, alright, I’ll take care of you, but you need to get cleaned up first.” An unstable hand fit into his own. His gently pulled you to stand and allowed you to lean your weight onto his.
Hot water cascaded down your body. Though Light effortlessly scrubbed washed his hair, you could not bring yourself to match his speed, and by the time he was already done, you hadn’t even washed your body yet. You heard an incomprehensible mutter amidst the running water as he left you alone. He was washing his face as you finally emerged, wrapped in your towel. No romance tonight, you figured. Not that it was any different than any other night. You followed, brushing your teeth, washing your face, and taking your pills while he huddled in bed.
You could only dream of romance anymore. Getting your pajamas on, you approached the empty side of the bed. Before you could get on, Light shifted, opening his arms and staring at you expectantly. You froze. Did… did he want…? “Well, come on.” Ah. Was this supposed to be the ‘I’ll take care of you,’ he mentioned earlier? You supposed he would never wash you in the shower, so this would have to be it. You swallowed and fell into them, feeling his arm wrap you close to him so you lied nearly on your stomach, face buried in the crook between his neck and shoulders. His arm lied around your neck, the other near your elbow on the arm that sprawled on his chest. Oh, hello? What is this?
Ah. This is the quote-on-quote, attention he promised as a fiancé. His eyes remained closed as you stared. How forced was this? You wondered if he hated it, if he saw it was succumbing to your wishes, but it was unlikely. Perhaps it was him showing the physical love outside of sex that you lacked thinking it would keep you from having another outburst as you did before. Him keeping his side of the compromise so you would keep yours.
You allowed yourself to close your eyes before you thought too hard about his actions. The more you thought about it, the more—and less—real it all became, but if he was offering more conventional couple things: cuddling, dates, attention, you would not pose another argument.
“So, no dog?” you whispered.

BoomLords weird adventure
Chapter 5 reluctant companions
Rairty spoke up."excuse me darling what is the crazy stallion saying?"Twilight was spaced out for a moment trying to process what she had just done. Apon realizing Rairty was speaking she snapped back to reality."what oh Rairty. Sorry uh he was talking about me helping him to uh shit"She blinked, wincing as she couldn't get the thought of what she had just done out of her head. She didn't intend to create Rose fire in fact in that moment she had wanted to kill him to render the flesh from his bone, it was as if another creature had entered her head for a moment and fueled her rage."I think I have to go with him."before she could explain why."WHAT ARE YOU TAKING ABOUT HE JUST MESSED WITH YOU AND THE PRINCESSES HEADS!"rainbow yelled."I merely showed them what they wanted to know however to be honest I didn't expect this to happen. I had been looking for the rose fire in every world every terrifying, every cruel, and every unforgiving place in the Omniverse. But it turns out all I had to do was accidentally induced fear and rage into a horse."the pony stared at him for a moment."He's telling the truth and now that we know what's at stake we have no choice but to help."Celestia stated her tone was dark however as if she was doing something she wasn't so sure she wanted to."h-how long until it happens?"Boom and Celestia stared at each other for a moment. It was clear Boom really didn't want to answer this."could be days could be another year time works differently for me but if I had to give a rough estimate maybe a year or two or less."Celestia took a gulp of air as she looked to her fellow ponies. She looked as if she was holding back tears."my little ponies I ask no I beg you all to go with him this is no longer a matter in my control and I cannot force you to partake in this. What he is asking is dangerous beyond anything any of you have ever faced and while he may only require Twilight I would never send my student alone into what I was shown."this time no one spoke not even dash because when princess Celestia tells you shits about to go down it's going to go fuckin down. And in unison without hesitation without regret without fear all the ponies and Spike responded"were in!"boom looked at the group of ponies a look of discontent on his face."fuckin great I'm babysitting a whole party."most of the ponies ignored what he said with the exception of rainbow dash and Applejack."hey no one asked you"dash got in his face while AJ got close next to her."yeah that's right and don't think we're going to take our eyes off you for a minute partner. Not after what you just pulled.
2 spike walked over to the stallion cautiously"so how are we leaving? I mean you said we had to leave."well you see that's why I'm going to need my notepad and Pen also my satchel if you don't mind."a look of confusion re-entered the faces of everyone."oooo are you gonna draw us amagical portal to another dimension?"pinky blurted out as a few of the others started to chuckle."actually that's a pretty accurate assessment of what I'm about to do, in fact spot on."Twilights jaw nearly dropped as BoomLord began scribbling on the paper. Boomlord had drawn a nearly perfect circle on a piece of the notepads paper and in the center of it wrote the words, °home space°as he took the pen off the paper another electric golden ring started to form, the area within beginning to blacken about 10 ft away."okay everybody we're about to leave but don't worry I can send us back to this exact point in time give or take a few minutes so while we may be gone for who knows how long to the princesses it will only be a couple minutes."Boom that hope this comment would calm them however they're confusion only broaden. 'God how are they going to react when they all change'
3 boom was the first to enter the portal then Twilight followed by Pinky, rainbow,Applejack, rarity Fluttershy, and lastly young Spike. Boomlord looked down at himself. He was human again his blue jeans and thick yellow hoodie once again with him. Pulling back the sleeve he saw that the green fur that once covered his body was gone replaced with his light taned skin. Okay I hope everybody's ready for some exposition and descriptions. Boomlord looked back at the ponies first up was Twilight she had grown into a human form unsurprisingly. Her mane or I guess her hair had stayed the same she had fairly pale white skin and a few smalls freckles adorning her face she was also fairly short compared to Boom. Boom knew his height was about 5'7 give or take so Twilight had to be about 5'4 or 5'3 she wore a purple t-shirt and a darker purple skirt with pants to go with it all put together with very nice sneakers which all the girls have with the exception of rarity and Applejack. Pinky on the overhand was definitely much taller than Twilight in fact she was about the same height as boom. She wore a striped blue and pink shirt with a polka dot skirt and light pink leggings she had average white skin no major tan or anything although she did have pink nail polish on. Dash was next she still had her rainbow hair but she was on the shorter end with Twilight only being a inch or so taller along with fairly tanned skin as if she's been spending her days at the beach. She wore a plain blue sleeveless top and jean shorts her wings were also noticeably missing the same with Fluttershy. Speaking of Fluttershy her outfit was rather green she wore a green t-shirt with a yellow peace symbol on it and long jeans. Additionally in her hair she had is a flower crown witch she probably took off, besides that her skin was also fairly tanned. Applejack definitely took the show with her outfit she was wearing thick brown leather gloves and a brown leather vest with tassels on it. Underneath the vest was a plain white shirt covered in bits of brown dirt, and long stylish cowboy print jeans and good old-fashioned cowgirl boots. Applejack skin was also the most tanned being she was definitely the one who spent the most time outdoors. Also she and rainbow dash were the only ones with noticeable er muscle growth as even through their outfits they still kept their physical physique. Applejack and Fluttershy we're definitely the tallest of the group with Fluttershy being 5'8 and Applejack being at least 6'2.Lastly of the girls we have rarity wearing a clean white shirt with stylish blue diamond print in it, and a rather long dress to accompany it. Along her neck was a rather lovely diamond necklace and alot Lower down beautiful high heels. She also had the darkness pigment of her skin when compared to everyone else. Also sorry if that's not politically correct I'm not entirely sure what the correct term is now. Do feel free to let me know. As soon as the girls walk through the portal though most of them with the exception of Twilight who seemed almost familiar with the sensation of walking on two legs fell to the ground."oh no whats happing?"Pinky yelled and she started crawling on all fours along with Fluttershy. Dash and Applejack were occupied with balancing themselves on a desk next to them and rarity had somehow crawled her way to a sofa and dramatically pose."oh darling what has happened to us?"boomlord rolled his eyes as he knew he was going to have to teach them how to be human it also occurred to him where the hell was spike.
4 Then he saw it or well him. Unlike his fellow ponies Spike didn't turn into a human and no he did not turn into a dog. This isn't Equestria girls guys turning into a dog is really dumb and I already have one in the story. Spike's body had remained reptilian however he's noticeably taller now at least about Twilights size inner current form his body seemed to get longer and his claws along with it. His face has narrowed Abit becoming far more similar to his dragon freinds with the exception that he had a much longer neck which allowed him to survey his own body. Put it simply he looks more like what a small dragon would look like in our world if they existed."woah I look really cool!"spike yelled in excitement."ponies don't talk where I'm from so the portal has adjusted your body's to something a bit more familiar to me that I have set and in Spike's case I already had something in mind for dragons." Ponies now began to look around their surroundings. They notice they seemed to be in a rather decent sized living room a few desks a television ,yellow rug, a few lamps. The room seemed mostly normal only the walls and floor and ceiling all looked the same. It looks like the inside of a treehouse and where there was a window there was no... Well anything just an empty void."welcome to my home away from home a little place I made outside of the Omniverse and what I like to call free space, basically this entire place is an extension of a thought everything here with the exception of a few items were made from nothing. No magic and no magical effects can be taken here with the exception of the notepad so sorry girls but your wings and horns are temporarily unavailable don't worry when we go to other worlds you should be able to use them."Twilight rapidly blinked as she didn't expect well boom to look rather nice. He still had rather unkempt hair and the rings under the eyes but here the black in his eyes were gone however his irises remained red and gold. He had a warm smile or a warm fake smile and while definitely wasn't the biggest guy around he still had a rather fit physique. And the rarity was the first to comment on that"oh boom darling you look um..... Better than I would have thought."boom roll his eyes."well im far more comfortable like this."the girls who were having trouble standing took a few minutes to themselves to start copying the motions of Twilight who began pacing."uh hey are we safe here."like asked while moving around the girls who were rather surprised to see him as they did not expect such a change."spike looking badass today."rainbow dash teased.spike blushed slight as Boomlord spoke."well girls work going to have to set some ground rules since it looks like you'll be staying with me for a while."
(Oh one more thing because I know you're all wondering or at least some of you are wondering.
Breasts size from largest to smallest :Applejack dd followed by pinkie and Fluttershy then Rairty.twlight has the average size and rainbow dash is flat but that doesn't make her any less of a woman)
(not sure why I felt the need to put that there but I feel like some people just had to know)

Hey, not sure if you do smut but I think this request can work without a lot if you’d prefer😁 reader’s an art student and needs to sculpt a full body nude sculpture and Tom offers but gets a bit cheeky
thanks for the request dear! this was fun to write :-) i literally know nothing about art so if I get something wrong just ignore! i hope you enjoy!! i went a diff +route but I still think it fits! [ mlist ]
Word count: 3, 273
Warnings: slight nsfw,, nudity
Pairing: Tom Holland x art student reader!
“The issue is… I have no idea who to ask.” You sighed deeply, embarrassment washing over you as you talked to your best friends about your upcoming project.
Everyone knew you were a talented sculptor. That wasn’t the issue. The issue was that your professional sculpting internship at (your school) was currently learning about Ancient Greece. One of the requirements to pass the semester was to recreate a modern sculpture of someone you knew, and to make it as realistic as possible. Nakedness and all, which was a huge distinction of Greek statues.
There was a big problem though. You were incredibly shy, and you didn’t know who to ask to model for you.
Nudging you with a laugh, your friend flashed you a mischievous smile. “You know a lot of cute guys, why don’t you ask one of them?”
“Cute guys?” You scrunched your nose. “I know like three guys and I would cry if I had to see them naked.”
She sighed. “Fair. Does it have to be a guy?”
*-You nodded regretfully. “It has to be the opposite sex. It’s annoying but I u
erstand why. It’s important to be familiar with both sexes.”
Your best friend air quoted ‘familiar’ with a ridiculous smirk.
“Shut up.” You huffed, trying not to laugh at how dramatic she had become.
“I think I know a guy, he’s an aspiring actor and model.” Your best friend added casually.
Groaning, you shot her a glare. “Why didn’t you say that right away?”
She shrugged. “I like listening to you talk about your art.”
Her compliment almost worked, but you already knew that was partly the reason she was teasing you so hard. The other reason was because she had been trying to set you up with multiple friends for months. According to her, you had been single for far too long.
Her offer made you ponder deeper about your situation. You were slightly awkward when it came to getting to know someone, but you couldn’t imagine asking someone to strip right away so you could sculpt every curve your eyes grazed over. Whoever it ended up being had to be incredibly confident. Shallow yes, but that’s why you were hoping to find someone insanely attractive. Attractive people were usually confident, and responsibly so. “Maybe a stranger would be worse than someone I know.”
Snorting through her nose, your best friend stared at you like you were crazy. “Definitely not. If it’s awkward you never have to see him again. And if it’s not, well you can get cozy with a cutie.”
Taking a deep breath, you rolled your eyes. “I hate you sometimes.” You mumbled under your breath. You knew she was right, but you would never inflate her already enormous ego like that.
“You love me.” She sang sweetly.
“I do, now give him my number and tell him it’s of the utmost importance.”
❀∙∘✿∘∙❀
Days later, that conversation was on your mind as you nervously organized your sculpting tools. Trying to relieve some tension, you slapped a pound of clay against the table, and it echoed throughout the workshop.
Reality was the fact that this so called model boy was on his way to your studio. His name was Tom, and from the pictures you saw–he was incredibly handsome.
You couldn’t believe you had agreed to this, but alas, you needed this experience to pass your class. You just hoped and prayed that Tom was a lot more outgoing than you, and could keep the conversation flowing as you stared intently as his erect… penis.
Your cheeks flared up at the thought. How the hell were you going to do this?
Y/N: help (Y/B/F/N) I cant do this!!! im freaking out
Y/B/F: is he even there yet? lmfao
Y/N: noooooo :((
Y/B/F: if it makes you feel any better, he’s excited and thinks ur pretty
Y/N: why didn’t you tell me that before??!
Y/B/F: do u feel better now tho?
Y/N: no
Y/B/F: ik ur smiling ;) u aint slick
Giggling like a schoolgirl to relieve some of your anxiety, you set your cell phone on the table. Truthfully, your best friend had made you feel better. If anything bad happened, it would surely be a wonderful story to tell everyone in the future.
Your eyes naturally glanced across the room to the clock on the wall. 7:00pm. Tom would be here any minute as scheduled.
You took a deep breath and studied your surroundings. All your tools were in place, and the entire studio was tidied up as if you hadn’t worked the space in weeks. Next, you walked to the wall and glanced at your reflection in the mirror.
With your hair in a bun and your shabby working clothes, you looked suitable at best. You did have a little bit of makeup on to help yourself feel more confident. If you felt good, you could make your client feel good in return.
At least it looked like you didn’t try too hard. You didn’t want this man to get the wrong idea.
Then, snapping you out of your trance, there was a knock on the door.
You straightened out your shirt one last time, and tucked your baby hairs back behind your ears. Scoffing immediately after, you shook your head. Why were you trying to look cute? Who cares!
You rushed to grab the front door, afraid that you were making him wait too long. You flung it open, eyes locking with his right away.
You froze.
He was even more dashing in person.
“Judging by your cute outfit, I think I’m at the right place. Y/N right?”
And a British accent?
“Y-yes!” You flashed a smile to mask your obvious hesitation. You could easily play it off by opening the door and keeping your gaze averted. You were the master of smoothness.
“Thank you for coming, it’s about time I got this project done…” You tittered, locking the door behind him for privacy purposes. “You can set your things on the couch over there.” You pointed, eyes meeting his again when he glanced to the couch and then back to you.
“Awesome.” He nodded, holding your gaze for a moment longer than necessary.
“Do you want anything to eat or drink?” You offered, nodding your head back to the small kitchen in the back of the studio. You wished the studio apartment was yours alone, but you shared it with multiple other college students in your program.
“Water or beer if you have any?”
You threw your head back in laughter, causing Tom to smile at your genuine reaction.
“Yeah, I can get you one.”
“In the meantime, should I just strip?” He smirked, not trying to be sly with his flirtations. Though your cheeks were dusting with pink, you were able to match his energy. Your best friend definitely set you up with someone she knew you’d like.
“Do whatever you want, love.” You mimicked his British accent. “You’re the guest after all.”
Walking past him, you gave him one last look when he was fully-clothed. Tom was certainly the player type, practically the perfect embodiment of the muse you had in mind. This wouldn’t be awkward for you, and it would be even better for him. Men like him thrived off of cheeky discomfort in their female counterparts.
Yet, truthfully, you were enjoying it as well. It felt nice to be complimented so soon into an introduction.
As you cracked open a can of beer for Tom and yourself, you could hear him shuffling around with his items. The sound of his buckle falling against the floor made you suddenly nervous to turn around.
Inhaling sharply, and gulping down a few more sips of beer, you finally gained the courage to walk back to the studio setup, where Tom had already wandered over to, completely naked.
“You seem to be in your element.” You noted, trying to keep your eyes leveled with his. Now that you were thinking about it, remaining calm and professional was excruciating in front of such an attractive man. And it certainly wasn’t helping that he was enjoying your embarrassment.
And least this was exciting.
Thanking you, Tom took the beer and pressed his lips against the cold aluminum. “I would definitely feel a lot more comfortable if you were naked too, darling.”
“Hey now,” You nose scrunched in a form of mock distaste. The man caught on immediately, holding your gaze with a sort of amusement that was masking desire. “I might think about it if you sit nice and pretty for me for more than five minutes so I can sketch you.”
“Your wish is my command.”
Shaking your head in disbelief, you walked over to your crafting desk. You decided you were going to start with the hardest part, the part which your grade depended heavily on- from the waist down.
But first, you quickly sketched Tom posing in multiple poses until you were satisfied with one. You had him mimic a sculpture you couldn’t recall, where one hand was pointed forward and the other was rested casually on his hip.
“Can I see what one you want to do?” He asked curiously from the stand you had him propped up on for a better view.
“Sure.” You flashed him your finished sketch. The lines darted all over the page, making it hard for him to picture what was going on in your head. The picture you had drawn would not make sense to anyone else but the artist. But apparently you were talented, so he would trust the process.
You were also trusting the process. The situation you were in could only be awkward if you allowed it to be. And so far it was moving along smoothly. You had your favorite music playing softly in the background to fill the silence, and Tom seemed to be relaxed and unbothered by how quietly you worked.
“That’s cool.” Tom whispered, his eyes narrowing in confusion.
Giggling from his sudden proximity, you tried to tease him. “It’s fine to not understand it.”
“I definitely don’t know what’s going on but it’s still interesting.” He admitted.
You set the paper back down on the table, and decided to attempt and sculpt the base. Moving past a still naked Tom, you tried to immerse yourself in your work, or at least make it seem like you were focused. “This takes hours you know, weeks and months- it won’t make sense for a long time.”
“Perfect.” He grinned. “I’ll get plenty of time to know you better.”
Laughing through your nose, you kept your attention on the clay you had dropped on the floor. “You can put your clothes back on.”
“Oh!” He chuckled. “Yeah.”
As you carefully trimmed the base clay with a heavy frame, you lifted your head to find Tom slipping a robe back on. He definitely came prepared. Had he done this before?
“Come here.” You gestured. “I need you to set your feet down on the clay.”
“I didn’t think this would get dirty so fast.”
“Shut up.” You huffed, grabbing his foot and pressing it down hard until the clay took shape to the size.
“Cold.” Tom commented in discomfort.
“I know.” You released your grip on his calf, looking up at him with a sheepish smile. “All part of the process, but good news for you- you’re done for the night.”
“Really?” Tom raised his eyebrows. “That’s it?”
You nodded, standing back up to normal height. “I’m experienced enough to sculpt the feet and legs tonight.”
“When should I come back?” He sounded a tad too eager, but it caused your smile to reappear.
“Tomorrow night if you’re available.”
“And maybe next time you can bring your own alcohol?” You gestured to the multiple beer cans poking out of the recycling bin.
The man flashed you a smile. “Sounds like a date.”
“It’s definitely not.”
Despite your rejection to his amusing advances, Tom’s expressions and mannerisms remained hopeful. Was it possible he was truly enjoying himself?
“I’ll leave my robe here. I’ll see you tomorrow at the same time?”
“Same time.” You confirmed, nodding him off. It was about time you started to really focus. Attractive man or not, you always got the most and best work done alone.
Because after the first night, the dynamics between you and Tom changed. He became incredibly invested in your process, asking you questions left and right, asking if there was any way he could help, and practically just lounging next to you hours after he would have been free to go.
“What do your sculptures usually look like?”
“Since this isn’t my own studio, I don’t have any of my pieces here. But I can show you a picture when I get my hands wiped off.”
“What do you build your sculptures with? It’s hard to imagine that a replica of me can come out of that much clay.”
“My sculptures are built with water-based clay and are fired in a gas kiln to cone 4, about 2150 degrees Fahrenheit… “ You nodded towards the back wall that had an installed kiln for you and everyone to share. “Trust me, there will be a lot more clay. Hundreds of pounds worth.”
“Can I help?”
“No.”
There was no lying that you enjoyed his presence. Whether he was talking your ear off or napping to the peaceful beat of your jazz music, there was never a dull moment when Tom was in your studio.
Weeks passed, and so did the process. Your sculpture of Tom had progressed to week three, and that’s when you started to grow nervous. When you finished, which you were almost done, would you ever see him again?
You had barreled through the awkwardness of replicating his genitals and chiseling his six pack perfectly into the hardening clay- but you still felt like something was missing. You knew even when you finished chiseling away his jaw line and chocolate brown eyes, there would still be something missing. Him. His presence.
Maybe it would have been better if you partnered up with a man that had zero personality.
Since it was just you and Tom for hours on end, your conversations gradually grew deeper, they stretched into new lengths, so much so that you eventually felt like you had known him for years.
When Tom claimed he wasn’t looking for a relationship, you felt your heart fall. That’s when you realized you were developing stronger feelings for your model. You hardly had time to think about trivial things like that, but you couldn’t deny your disappointment.
And you were sure he saw the brief tears glossing over your eyes when you turned away. Yet, he didn’t make light of it.
That’s when you knew it was useless.
It seemed useless until the sixth week, when you finally finished the head. You were too afraid to attach it. Tom had spent the last couple hours with you in the studio. His legs kicked back and occasional whistles streaming from his lips. He had practically memorized your playlist to the extent you had.
“Tom.” You called. “Your face is done.”
He cheered excitedly, pushing himself off the sofa and racing towards you. Tom had learned to give you your space while you worked, but in moments where you summoned him, he barely stood inches from you. The man would constantly touch you in ways you couldn’t deny sent shivers down your spine.
Like he did as he rounded the tabletop, planting himself by your side and placing his hand on the low of your back. As if it was natural.
“Wow,” He breathed. “Y/N,” Your name upon his lips sounded as blissful as the music. “It’s.. it’s wonderful. It looks just like me... wow that’s scary.”
“I’m happy you like it.” You bit your lip, wishing you felt more satisfied with your project. You wanted to impress him, but you didn’t want him to go.
“All I have to do is attach the head, and fire it up in the furnace one more time. Then it should be good to go.”
You moved to do so, wanting to remove yourself from his grip. It hurt your heart to know the bond you had formed with him would come to an end. Why did you even let yourself get to this point? Was it because he was good at flirting?
“Wait-” His sentence faltered when you whipped around to face him- looking somewhat hopeful.
“What?”
Tom paused, his throat tightening with the words he never thought he would admit. But he couldn’t leave tonight with at least trying. He needed to know how you felt. Because he could either leave with you in his arms, or he could leave never having to see you again.
He had been thinking of confessing to you for days now, but now that the time came, his mind was blank. “You really are beautiful, you know that right?”
“Why do you feel the need to flatter me?” You blurted, still unable to decipher the truth behind his words. You didn’t know how to accept such a compliment. Tom had claimed you were beautiful before, but this time it felt different.
His eyes spoke volumes. The beauty his eyes held was something you would never be able to replicate in a statue. It was a sight you found yourself never growing sick of.
Averting your eyes, you tried to move again. Yet this time, Tom gripped onto both of your arms.
“Look at me.”
“I can’t.”
“Why?”
“I won’t let you play me.”
“I was never playing you, darling.” The tenderheartedness intertwined with his words caused you to slowly turn your head back. Your lip quivered, and suddenly you felt like a schoolgirl all over again. You felt childish and unprepared for the intensity of your emotions.
“I don’t want to leave tonight without knowing if you feel the same.”
You blinked, hand reaching out to grip onto his. “And that is?”
“I don’t know if it’s love, but it could be.”
“That’s all I needed to hear.” You said, incredibly softly.
Tom released your arms. And before either of you could process what to do next, your lips interlocked.
You gripped onto him tightly, balling his white t shirt into a fist to keep him from leaving your side again.
“Tom-” You breathed.
The kiss you shared was laced with a fervent need, one that you had never experienced before, and one that you craved again and again.
After the passion you felt, the skin prickling desire, there would be no turning back.
“Fuck, you’re everything”’ He mumbled against your lips.
You pulled back slightly to gaze at his expression. He had looked so afraid before, but now he was smiling from ear to ear. Much like he did the day he arrived with a teasing attitude, ready to get under your skin and provide entertainment.
“How long have you felt like this?”
“Since the first day.” He kissed you again, his hands cupping your cheeks.
You whimpered against his muscular frame, trying to ignore the fluttering in your core, fluttering that begged and craved for more.
“How did you wait so long?”
“I wanted you to finish.”
You chuckled, cheesing at his straightforward, simple reply.
You were positive from that moment moving on, that Tom was not what you had thought at first glance. This entire time he had put you and your project first, letting his own desires sit and warm on the back-burner. That was something you would hold close to your heart, something you would cherish.
He cared for you in the same way you cared for him.
“Stay with me tonight, Tom.”
“I would love nothing more.”

day 16: bad day
prompt from: whumptober (tho i misread the title and can’t post to the challenge but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i still like it) pairing: felix x ace notes: felix’s day goes from bad to neutral to Nice (tm). also everyone except david is a shitty person in this lmao. warnings: implied emotional abuse, implied cheating, threat of violence word count: 2900
It was official; this was the worst day of Felix’s life.
It shouldn’t have been. He should have been happy, maybe a little shocked and nervous, but definitely excited. Not anxious, scared and downright spiteful like he felt right now.
His girlfriend was pregnant. They hadn’t been trying, but she was excited to tell him regardless, already thinking of baby names and giving Felix no room to voice any of his doubts. He knew this was what he claimed he’d always wanted, what he knew his parents wanted for him, to continue the family name since he was the last of his line.
He took another swig of the foul-tasting beer and wondered if she’d done it on purpose. She’d been not-so-subtly hinting at marriage for months, and Felix had always brushed her off. Maybe this was her taking matters into her own hands, forcing Felix to commit to her or drag down both his family name and professional image for having a child out of wedlock.
He didn’t want to marry her because she always seemed way more fond of his money than Felix himself, and he didn’t want to have kids because…
Well. He hated children.
He probably should have brought up that particular piece of information sooner, but he wasn’t sure it would have even made a difference. Not to his parents, not to his girlfriend, and certainly not to the ungodly amount of distant relatives and business associates who kept bugging him about settling down and starting a family.
Because, for some reason, dedicating the last twenty years of his life to doing what other people wanted him to do wasn’t enough.
He’d stupidly believed it would get better. That the twelve-hour work days and countless all-nighters on uninspiring projects would eventually pay off, when in reality all it had lead to were more boring projects. He’d thought buying his girlfriend expensive gifts and taking her on weekly dates followed by the obligatory weekly sex would make them fall in love, but instead she was pushing him into commitments he wasn’t ready for.
He downed the rest of the beer and tried to numb out the suffocating feeling of being trapped. He was doomed to keep living his shitty life exactly the way others dictated, and there was nothing he could do to change his fate.
Maybe that’s why he’d chosen this bar. It wasn’t the usual high-end, after-hour cocktail bar next to his office where everyone would recognize him. It was a shitty sports bar owned and frequented by foreigners, where nobody would approach him to congratulate him on the “good news” after his girlfriend e-mailed his entire contacts list in her excitement.
He debated getting another beer, maybe finally being able to pick one that didn’t taste like piss. God, how sad was his life that the biggest act of rebellion he could come up with was getting drunk on cheap beer in a bad part of town?
Felix clutched the glass tighter in his hand, frustrated at his life but also at himself, how he was unable to do anything but play right into everyone else’s plans. Fuck, he needed to do something different, something he’d never even considered would be in the realm of possibilities for him. But what?
He looked around the bar, seeing a group of backpackers animatedly chatting in what sounded like Spanish. He could go travelling, but that wouldn’t accomplish much except buy him a little bit of time. Not to mention his girlfriend would guilt him until he let her come along.
He could always get blackout drunk and puke his guts out in the bathroom. Maybe get into a bar fight. Try to get his hands on some drugs. Hire a prostitute.
Unfortunately none of those things seemed even remotely more thrilling than the bland beer he’d been drinking the entire night.
Felix sighed and buried his face into his hands. For forty years, he’d kept telling himself he wasn’t like everyone else, that he’d do something meaningful in his life, that he was a risk taker and not a conformer.
And he still would; he just didn’t know what. If he only got a sign—
The door to the bar slammed open and Felix snapped his head up from the noise, his table rattling from the impact of the door hitting the wall.
There was a man, his grey hair and cheap suit both wet from the autumn rain, clutching something under his arm while panting like he’d just run a half marathon. He hurried to close the door, and Felix didn’t mean to stare, but it was the most exciting thing to happen all night.
The man caught Felix’s eye and gave a quick grin.
“You saw nothing,” he offered before running up to the bar.
“Don’t tell me ya fuckin’—” the bartender started, clear annoyance on his features.
“Oops, gotta run, I was never here!” the man offered good-naturedly before hopping over the bar and disappearing into the back.
“Ace for fuck’s sake!” the bartender cursed, yelling at the doorway to what had to be a back room or kitchen. Still, he made no move to follow him, instead sighing in agitation and aggressively started cleaning a couple of pint glasses.
Felix realized three things at once; one, the new customer screamed trouble. Two, he clearly knew the bartender. And three, Felix was intrigued.
He made his way to the bar with his empty glass, placing a ten euro bill on the worn wood that earned him a fresh glass of beer in only a couple of seconds. He appreciated that the bartender hadn’t tried to make small talk during the entire evening, and lamented the fact that he had to break the silence.
“Who is your friend?” Felix asked, trying to ignore the self-consciousness that always surfaced when he had to subject the world to his extremely obvious German accent.
“'Friend' is a strong word,” the bartender huffed in annoyance, though it seemed to be directed at the person they were talking about and not Felix. “'A pest who keeps comin' back like a boomerang no matter how many times I kick 'im out' sounds more fitting.”
Felix hummed in acknowledgement and sipped at his beer, deciding to sit down at the bar instead of returning to his table.
“He seems interesting,” Felix mused, trying to fish more information about the man.
Instead of humoring him, the bartender stopped cleaning the glasses and gave him an incredulous stare.
“You've gotta be fucking kidding me,” he deadpanned. “The hell's a guy like you see in a rat like 'im?”
“That wasn't what I meant,” Felix insisted, staring at his glass in embarrassment. He was just curious, he wasn't… interested, at least not that way. God, why could he never communicate properly? This is why he never tried anything new.
He heard the bartender sigh long and loud, like this wasn't the first time he'd had to put up with a similar situation.
“Look mate, whatever yer thinkin', don't,” he offered, like that was supposed to help Felix at all. “Guy's way more trouble than 'es worth, an' he sure as hell ain't here to make friends.”
Felix didn't have time to reply, not that he even knew what he would have said, before the door slammed open once again and heavy footsteps stomped into the bar.
“Oi!” the bartender shouted in annoyance. “Don't go draggin' mud into my bar!"
“Where is he?” one of the new patrons demanded in German, and his voice was threatening enough to make Felix glance over his shoulder at the new arrivals.
He saw a group of four men that looked like bad news, their cheap clothing and poorly made tattoos making Felix think of some lowly local gang.
“Read the sign, mate,” the bartender scoffed, pointing at a metal plaque in the style of a road sign that said ‘Service in English only’.
“What a fucking moron,” one of the thugs commented, not even attempting to switch languages.
“We know he's here!” the man at the front barked out and proceeded to slam a fist against the bar.
“I got no bloody clue what yer talkin' about!” the bartender claimed. “But if yer gonna come to my bar an' start a fight, so help me—”
"Let's just beat him up!” one of the men was getting impatient.
“For the last time, where is he!?” one of the thugs surged forward and grabbed the bartender by his collar.
“You've got the fuckin' wrong place, I dun know shit about what ya even want!” the bartender, to his credit, didn't even bat an eye. Then again, it looked like he could easily hold his own in a fight.
Felix heard a gasp and noticed one of the Spanish kids cower closer to the corner they were sitting in, observing the scene with fear in her eyes.
The tension in the air seemed like it was about to snap, and instead of making Felix want to bolt into the safety of his mansion, it made his adrenaline start pumping.
This was what he needed. A thrill.
“You heard the man,” Felix raised his voice, finally turning to address the group. “You're in the wrong place.”
“Shut the fuck up, this doesn't involve you!” one of them eloquently responded.
“It started involving me when you barged in and ruined my night,” Felix explained calmly despite feeling his palms start sweating from nervousness, years of faking an unphased persona finally coming to use.
“Okay, the fuck's your problem!?” the guy who seemed to be the leader demanded, finally letting go of the bartender in favor of looming over Felix threateningly.
“I said,” he emphasized, slowly lifting his pint glass to take a sip of his drink and flash his ring with the family insignia. “You've got the wrong place.”
There was a moment of silence when all Felix heard was his own heart beating in his ears, keeping his expression neutral and looking at the thugs like they were nothing more than a fleck of dirt on his expensive suit. Hopefully, they'd recognize the symbol, even if the Richters hadn’t been involved in the local underworld for years, not after the disappearance of his parents.
“The fuck is he on about?” one of the men, who looked to be the youngest, demanded. “Let's just beat them both up and—”
“Shut up,” the leader barked, glancing at Felix fleetingly. “We seem to have gotten lost on the way.”
Felix couldn’t help the smug smile.
“Happens to the best of us,” he said.
The group slowly started slinking out of the bar without further complaints, with Felix's eyes following them the entire time as if daring them to protest.
“Sorry for bother,” one of them even offered to the bartender in questionable English before the door closed after them.
“I'll be damned,” the bartender huffed and crossed his arms, giving Felix a look that could generously be described as somewhat impressed. Felix offered a shaky smile in return before he focused all his attention on staring at the surface of the bar and trying not to tremble from fear as the adrenaline left his body. He hoped it wasn’t obvious he was taking unnecessarily deep breaths and that cold sweat was running down his back under the suit.
That had been the most idiotic thing he had ever done. It was stupid, it was dangerous, and unnecessary and—
And he'd never felt such a rush of absolute victory before.
There was a thud as a beer was placed in front of him, and he glanced up to see the bartender smirking at him.
“It's on the house,” he said in a heavily accented but otherwise fluent German.
Well. It seemed this night was just full of surprises.
Soon after, Felix found himself sitting in a corner booth nursing his two beers. For the first time in what felt like forever, he felt good, and it wasn’t just from the alcohol buzzing in his system.
He’d proved to himself that he had balls. He was one wrong move away from ending up in a bar fight, and even that thought didn't make him cower in fear like it would have before. Despite never being in a fight before, his confidence was soaring, and he liked to imagine him and the bartender could have easily taken the four thugs.
And then his night only got better as a handsome stranger slid down into the opposite side of the booth.
“So, King told me you saved my ass just now,” the man said with a charming smile, casually leaning closer and propping his chin up on his elbow like they were old friends catching up.
It took Felix longer than he'd like to recognize the man as the one that caught his attention earlier. Without the baseball cap, sunglasses and cheap suit jacket, he cleaned up rather well, dressed in a simple light pink button-up and jeans. Slightly messy, silver hair was a stark contrast to the mischievous brown eyes and almost youthful, cocky smirk on his face.
Felix suddenly realized why the bartender thought he was interested in more than just the man's colorful personality.
“I suppose that's true,” Felix said after a way longer silence than was socially acceptable, but his companion was courteous not to mention anything.
“Well, whether you meant to or not, you have my thanks!” the man grinned good-naturedly. “I would have bought you a beer, but I see David's already got you covered,” he added, gesturing to the two pints where Felix was still working through his first.
“Yes, it's…” Felix started, debating whether he should be honest about his distaste for the drink or not. Fuck it, drunk and brave had worked earlier. “A shame it doesn't make it taste any better.”
The man barked out a laugh and Felix smiled at the success of his joke.
“I know, right?” his companion snickered. “I keep telling him to mix it up, maybe get some nice wines too, but he insists on importing that awful stuff the Brits call beer.”
Felix smiled politely, not knowing what to add to the statement. Regardless of what the bartender—David?—had claimed before, the two definitely seemed to be friends.
“I'm sorry, where are my manners!” the man suddenly seemed to realize, offering his hand over the table. “I'm Ace.”
“Felix,” Felix replied, returning the handshake firmly, like his father and numerous career coaches had taught him.
“So, Felix,” Ace continued, retracting his hand but leaning over the table even further. “What brings you here? I think I'd remember seeing someone like you before.”
Was that flirting? It had been so long since anyone had showed any interest in Felix, he couldn’t even recognize what was just casual conversation, too used to business world small talk about the stock market and someone's secretary's family.
“I needed a change,” Felix said, before realizing he probably shouldn't be revealing too much. “—of scenery,” he hastily added.
Ace regarded him silently for a few heartbeats and Felix gulped down some beer to try not to fret under the scrutinizing gaze.
“Scenery, huh?" Ace hummed. "Seen anything you like so far?”
Okay, that had to be flirting. Right? Felix stared at Ace's face, but the other wasn’t giving anything away. And Felix thought he was good a keeping a straight face.
“Maybe,” he answered simply, keeping eye contact much longer than appropriate on purpose.
Ace didn't look away and Felix wondered if he was the only one who noticed the tension in the air.
He always sucked at flirting, even in his native tongue, and now he had to do it in broken English. He thought he'd been pretty obvious, but he still wasn’t sure if Ace was just being friendly. Maybe he wasn’t even into men.
Well, to be fair Felix didn't think he was either, university time experimentation aside. There was something about this particular night, like he was desperate to prove to himself that he was still capable of making decisions for himself.
He’d always thought he wouldn't cheat, but he also knew that if Ace offered, he wasn’t going to say no. If this was the only thing in his life he still had control over, he was going to make the most of it, and he no longer cared if that made him a bad person.
“You know, I've stayed in a bunch of different hotels in the area while I've been here,” Ace mentioned out of the blue, and Felix furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. “There's a pretty good one just down the street.”
Felix swallowed, at last realizing what the other was getting at.
“Really?” he asked, trying to mask his suddenly surfacing nerves.
“Yup. Kinda cozy, very… discreet,” Ace chirped casually, like he was talking about the weather and not propositioning a stranger.
Felix cleared his throat and shoved a hand in his pocket, managing to fish out a crumpled twenty euro bill despite his sweaty palms. He slapped the money on the table, hoping the tip would convey his gratitude to David for setting him up for the best night of his life.
Finally, he stood up from the booth and offered Ace a nervous smile that probably made it glaringly obvious just how eager he was.
“Lead the way."

Here's Part 2
enjoy
Jacob
October 11, 2040 - 03:12 AM
Hereford, UK
His decision was abrupt, he left so many loose ends without even thinking about what to do with them. He didn't even said goodbye to his Mum.
After the shocking truth, Jacob burst into his room and began packing his important things, his savings and the journal he's supposed to return later that day. He's always been good at stealthily escaping through the window that today felt nothing out of the ordinary, except the fact that he's adopted or he's a child from another father. But he knows his mum is a pure soul, he believed that she'd never do that. But if those words did come out of her mouth then he had no choice but to escape the reality. He hated it.
Dashing across the silent streets of his neighborhood, he ran as fast as he could. Ignoring the cold breeze of the dawn and the idea of running out of breath, he ran to whichever the road took him, as long as his away from the place he's no longer welcome to.
About a few hours later he found himself on a table of a nearby McDonalds, with a cup of joe in front of him. The journal was open and he really invested himself on the adventures of the owner. It was indeed classified, but it was already history. This guy worked for the safety of everyone back when Vladimir Makarov was wreaking havoc across Europe, atleast that's what he assumed, just from the few pages.
It felt like a magazine with a diary of some sort, each page giving away information, map layouts along with snarky comments between his crew.
A shadow stood just beside his table.
"You know it's not good to read on someone else's diary, you know?" Jacob shuffled and closed the journal.
"Ah. Harper. I was just curious. Who isn't at this point?" he scratched his head laughing, sliding it to Harper.
"What about you? Haven't you seen the contents of the Journal?" he asked, waving his eyebrows as if trying to catch a culprit.
"I would never!" Harper quickly grabbed the journal.
"Grandpa told me it's one of his memorable possessions. He's looking for someone who should look at it, but ever since his age messed up his memory, all he could do is hold on to it." Harper explained, mopping the floor while doing so. Jacob recalls that she does work here part time, same time as you before you quit.
"Aren't you supposed to be somewhere else, Jacob?" she grinned mischievously, of course she knows he's late for his own job.
"I'm calling today off. I haven't had much sleep and I'll be looking for a place to stay."
"A place to stay? What happened to your house? Got into another trouble with your Dad again?" a worried look was all she could show.
"Yeah. Something along that thought." Jacob quickly downed his coffee and stood up. He wasn't ready for that kind of talk, so he did what he does best. Escape.
***
The busy streets of the city didn't distract Jacob at all, he was eager to look for some place to stay on, preferably under budget. Taking a quick break, he leans by a nearby pole and lands his eyes on an ad.
Looking for male roommate, along with an address and number. This was his lucky day, he quickly located the apartment and contacted the person he's looking for, swiping away notifications from his mom and not real father. With a glimmer of hope in his eyes, he ventures forth to a new life ahead of him.
Welcoming him in his new apartment was a blonde guy, shorter than him, wearing square glasses with freckles all over his nose and cheeks. Judging from his built, he might've been the same age as him.
"You're the ad guy! Nice to meet you. I'm Garrett." he greeted, extending an arm. Jacob was sure he's British, meaning he must've come here from London or somewhere south.
"Hey Garrett. I'm Jacob." he shook his hand along with the reply, taking a peek at his would be home. He quickly assumes it as his own, it's location is just close by where he works, the rent agreement sounds fair and achievable at his current state and Garrett seems to be a nice guy.
"What's brings you to this beautiful place?" Jacob asks, looking around at all the boxes scattered across the room.
Garrett pauses for a while, flipping over a binder he created for the rent agreement.
"Well, I've lost hope and I took a step on a new life..." he trailed, Jacob raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"My big brother always told me to keep pushing forward no matter what life throws at you, years ago he was assigned on a very special mission. I could still see the excitement in his eyes when he told Mom and Dad about it. Little did we all know it was the last time we'll see im again." He hands over a picture of him and his brother, same blonde, hair, he was taller and wore a military uniform.
"Sargeant Gary Sanderson. His mates call him Roach." he chuckled. "I have no idea why, but it kinda just fits sometimes." Garrett wasn't one for crying, but Jacob could feel the sudden mood drop around the room.
"But hey, I haven't given up hope yet. He probably just forgot where he is. All that gunshots and explosives and all. It's just... maybe, just maybe he's still out here... The best thing I could do is hope eh?" He looks at Jacob with a hopeful smile, masking the sadness trying to reveal underneath hid facade.

Maybe fate was called fate because some things weren’t choices; some things were simply written into his DNA, woven into the very fabric of the universe. World orders. The sky is blue. The sun is hot. He is in love with Kuchiki Rukia.

Ten years after the defeat of Yhwach, it’s time Ichigo and Rukia started facing some truths— about the world, about themselves, and about each other.

9:12 am
Kurosaki Clinic
When Renji wakes up the next morning to find Rukia safely asleep beside him, he feels the tension across his shoulders ease somewhat. They’d both been a little worried about how her sleepwalking habit might fit into this visit (even though neither of them had voiced their concerns out loud), he more so than she for reasons he had yet to disclose to her. Her breathy sigh of ‘Ichigo?’ rings in his ears. He hadn’t seen a point in telling Rukia about that, not when she was still refusing to admit she had a problem in the first place. She’d just feel needlessly guilty and isolate herself even more. Renji knows how Rukia works. What he doesn’t know is how to break through that shell she builds around herself, how to draw her out of it and get her to face her problems head-on.
No, he admits (and he’d be lying if he said there wasn’t a trace of bitterness in the way he thought it), that’s always been Ichigo’s specialty. He looks across the rowdy breakfast table to his friend, who is sitting uncharacteristically silent with a mug of something dark and unappetising in his hands. His eyes are shadowed, tired, and when he meets Renji’s gaze he starts almost guiltily before curving his lips into an uneasy smile.
The hell’s all that about? Renji thinks, but then Ichika slams into his knee, shoving a glass of orange juice into his face, and he puts the moment out of his mind. The rest of the morning is filled with trying out some godawful beverage called ‘coffee’ at Orihime’s behest, wrangling Ichika into human world clothes, and sending the children off, along with their mothers, to go meet Sado. He and Ichigo stay back, Ichigo to tend to his clinic and he to go see Urahara. Since gensei visits were so few and far between, even on what was ostensibly a holiday they had been saddled with checking in on the shopkeeper to exchange news and technology. Renji figures he might as well get that out of the way first, and catch up with Sado later.
At least, he figures that until Ichigo corners him just before he walks out the door, a dark expression on his face. He looks uncomfortable, standing in the doorway of his own house, a hand on the back of his neck, and Renji notes with a kind of detached surprise that if Ichigo hadn’t been slumping, they’d be more or less at a height now. He raises an eyebrow at him in a silent question.
“A— about Rukia—” Ichigo stumbles over the syllables in her name, and stops, wetting his lips, looking nervous. A sense of foreboding settles into Renji’s gut; Ichigo hasn’t looked this worried in— well, a decade. He stays quiet, letting Ichigo finish his question. “Has she ever— has she ever sleepwalked before?”
He freezes in his tracks; frantically, Renji rewinds last night in his mind. It’s no use; he’d been out for the count for a solid eight hours. If he hadn’t been so tired lately, he’d have thought someone had spiked his drink. Try as he might, he can’t remember Rukia slipping out of bed at all. But she’d been back in bed by the morning, so someone must have intercepted her—
Ichigo. Rukia’s voice, ghostly in his mind, calling his name. Ichigo. Ichigo. Ichigo—
His breath leaves him in a long, long sigh, and Renji closes his eyes before gesturing for Ichigo to sit.
.
.
.
6:53 am
Ichigo doesn’t go back to his bed after the kiss. Instead he sits outside the clinic, on the cold hard asphalt, for one eternity— two— til the sun starts lightening the end of the street and the moon grows paler in the sky. He can still feel Rukia on his skin, in his veins, lingering like a drug that refuses to clear. He doesn’t know if he’ll ever be empty of her touch now that he’s known it.
When the moon finally disappears and the sun well and truly risen, he picks himself up from the ground and stumbles back into the house, feeling like he was the sleepwalker now. The sight of their children sprawled out together in their blanket fort brings the reality of what he’s done rushing back to him. He can’t help the reflex that brings his fingers up to ghost over his lips, like a lovesick teenager. The breath leaves his lungs like he’s been punched, and he turns away from the kids, sleeping angelically side-by-side. He can’t bear the thought of facing either of them, of facing anyone in this household any more.
What does he do now? Does he go back to bed, pretend nothing ever happened— slip into his place beside Orihime and forget the fact that his heart is beating again for the first time in ten years? Does he come clean to her and beg forgiveness, tell her he loves her and it won’t ever happen again, or does he lock this away in a dark recess of his mind, just like he’s done with his shinigami powers and everything related to her for the last decade? His mind casts around frantically for excuses — he was tired. It was the middle of the night. Hell, he doesn’t even know if it really happened anymore — was everything a fever dream, triggered by the immense relief of seeing Rukia again? But his blood is thrumming in his veins, and the power he’d spent his entire adult life crushing down is once again swirling and eddying just under his skin, exactly like it had when he was seventeen. His hands are shaking, and his skin feels hot. He can’t lie to himself. Rukia was here. Rukia’d kissed him. He’d kissed her back.
He drags his trembling hands over his eyes, down his face; slumps into a chair in the kitchen and attempts to evade the question that becomes more pressing with every second. What now? It was clear that Rukia had no idea what had happened. The weight of this transgression was his alone to carry. Even if she had remembered, the fault lay with him— she’d been asleep, but he’d been wide awake and had pulled her towards him.
A part of him— the good part, the noble part, the part that had once forced its way through layers of hollow to tell his zanpakutou to fuck off out of his fight with Byakuya— is yelling at him to confess, to lay himself at Orihime’s mercy and take whatever comes from it. But a larger, more insistent part of him is asking, for what? What does telling Orihime accomplish, but the breaking of four hearts? He has never deserved Orihime, with her soft smiles and kind words to his rough edges; the fact that he is, once again, an awful person to her— for her— is not news. What is the point of ruining her spun-sugar smile with something that will never happen again—
liar
—especially when it doesn’t just involve him? If he confesses, it’s not just his head on the line; it’s Rukia’s, too, no matter the fact that she was asleep at the time. And he might be willing to risk everything he ever is or was for far less than this, but there is no way in hell he will do that to Rukia. Not for some one-off sleepwalking incident that she had no control over, and if it happens again he’ll just push her away—
liar
— and oh, god, was this a thing that happened often? Rukia’d always been a deep sleeper; she was, despite everything she insisted to the contrary, very clearly not okay if she was sleepwalking like this.
As his thoughts spiral back to the cause of his turmoil, Ichigo becomes acutely aware of her reiatsu upstairs, thrumming rapidly like a hummingbird’s wings. It seems lighter and more unsettled than he remembers it being, and the tinge of instability to it as it flares and retreats irregularly unnerves him. Rukia’s reiatsu control has always been top-class, so this distinct lack of it triggers alarm bells in his mind. He swallows, and attempts to smooth down the ragged edges of her power with his; but wherever his reiatsu brushes against hers, it just flares brighter and more powerful and he has to give up, lest it disturb Renji or the kids.
It's been a while since he's felt someone else’s reiatsu like this, but he knows this isn't normal; concern eats at him even as it wars with an urge to ignore it and bury everything about this incident as deep as possible. Rukia isn’t an idiot, she would have gotten help if it was something serious—but would she, really? He knows better than anyone how stubborn she can be when she thinks she’s being a burden. She’d die before she let someone else take the fall for her.
He closes his eyes.
He scowls; ten years it’s been, and she’s still so— so— so her. Longer hair, a husband and child, a Captain’s haori, and nothing matters; she’s still stubborn, still a bitch who lives to help everyone else but won’t let anyone help her. It's evident in the way she refuses to say she’s tired, the way that Renji’s eyes follow her around everywhere, worried. She’s still the self-sacrificing idiot she’d been from day one, and he—
He is still the coward he’d been twelve years ago, when he’d watched her bleed out on the concrete before him and only then been spurred into action.
This isn’t about him. If Rukia is ill, then he has to let someone know— someone who can actually do something about it. His feelings — whatever they are— does not factor into the equation. This is about Rukia—
— so, he needs to talk to Renji.
.
.
.
10:18 am
“Has Rukia ever sleepwalked before?”
A moment of tension across Renji’s features, and then a long, long sigh; he gestures for Ichigo to sit, and the two of them shuffle over to the recently vacated kitchen table. Renji rubs his face tiredly, and Ichigo’s sense of foreboding grows.
“... Last night, huh?” Renji says, and Ichigo almost jumps out of his skin; did he know? Could he see— was the mark of Rukia's lips on his visible, indelible, the way it felt like to him? Could everyone read it on his face, that he and Rukia—
Renji’s voice is weary as he continues. “Yeah. Yeah, she's sleepwalked before. The past few years, actually. What did she do last night? How did you find her?”
— kissed— “She— she walked out of the clinic and I heard the door open. Renji, is she— is she okay—”
Renji leans his elbows on the table and buries his face in his hands. “I don't know,” he breathes, frustration dripping from every syllable. “I don't know, she won't tell me, you know how she is—”
Did he ever. Ichigo remembers with vivid clarity the time she'd sustained a stomach wound, back in the days before Soul Society; she hadn’t told him for three days, and had only agreed to go see Urahara when she'd finally collapsed in his arms.
“ — don't think I've tried—? God, doctors, healers, we've tried everything, Kuchiki-Taichou’s worried out of his mind. But she won't have any of it, says she won't let us waste time fussing over her when there are better things to worry about—”
“That fucking idiot,” Ichigo mutters, and Renji barks out what is almost a laugh.
“Right? Drives me up the fucking wall. Wouldn't be Rukia if she didn't.”
“Guess not.”
Renji cracks a strained smile before it fades away into seriousness again. “It wasn't this bad before,” he says, and Ichigo sits up straight.
“Recent thing, then?”
“Depends what you'd classify as recent. I mean, she's never been a heavy sleeper—”
At this, Ichigo interrupts. “Wait, really? She's always slept like the dead—”
Renji gives him a look, and Ichigo remembers who it is that is sharing her bed now. He shuts up.
“ — as I said, she's never slept too well, even during our Rukon days, and it got pretty bad after the war, but it wasn't— wasn’t to this extent, you know? At least, not till she had Ichika. And then— it was like a switch flipped. She couldn't get to sleep at night, and she could barely keep her eyes open during the day. It started interfering with her work, and you know how that would have killed her; we started to go see a bunch of people for it but nothing seemed to help. And then she started sleepwalking—”
Something cold crawls up Ichigo’s spine.
“She— at first, we didn't know where it was that she was going in her sleep. she wandered the Kuchiki Manor gardens a lot, sometimes she just paced around inside the house. Sometimes she got out of the Kuchiki property and was well into the streets before we found her and brought her back. I didn't know where she was trying to go—”
Renji breaks off, and looks Ichigo dead in the eye.
“— till one morning I woke up, and found her at Sokyouku Hill.”
Ichigo’s blood turns to ice.
“It was bloody Sokyoku Hill, Ichigo. Every single time— inside the Manor, in the gardens, on the streets. She was always trying to get to Sokyouku Hill. North-north west from the Kuchiki Manor. I—”
Renji’s expression turns supplicating, as if asking him for an answer, but Ichigo has none to give; he’s rooted to the spot by the sheer horror he’s feeling, Rukia strung up against the Sokyouku vivid in his mind. That collar around her neck, a red slash splitting her throat open; her eyes, glazed over with tears. Her skin dyed orange and yellow from the heat of it all.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with her, Ichigo, for fuck’s sake I can’t even get her to admit that there’s something wrong. I just—”
Renji drops his head into his hands. Very softly — so soft that Ichigo is sure he isn’t meant to hear these next words— he says to himself:
“Ten years. Ten years, and I’m still not enough.”
Ten years. Enough to fell mountains; enough to dry rivers and move oceans.
Not enough to change a heart.
When Renji looks up at Ichigo again, his gaze is edged with steel.
“She says your name.”
“I— what?”
“She says your name, when she walks out to Sokyouku Hill. She says your name.”
A memory, in his mind: Rukia, ethereal in the moonlight. Ichigo?
Yeah. Yeah, it’s me. I’m here.
Ichigo doesn’t know what to say.
Eventually, Renji breaks their impasse; he sighs and raps the table before getting up. “I’m not such a small man as to beat you to a pulp over that, Ichigo, stop looking like you think I’m going to bite your head off.”
“I’m not—” he protests automatically, but Renji shushes him with a wave of his hand.
“You are, but that’s not the point.” He ambles over to the door and looks over his shoulder at him, one hand poised on the handle. “If— if there’s anything you might be able to do for her—”
“Renji—”
“Please,” Renji says, and even though this time, he isn’t on his knees half-dead before him, Ichigo knows what it’s costing him to make this request. “Please… help her.”
Of course, Ichigo wants to reply, She’ll be fine, I’ll save her. Rukia’ll be safe—
But he isn’t fifteen anymore.
“I’ll— try,” he says, lamely, and that is the best they can do. Renji nods.
“Gonna go see Urahara. He might have some tricks up his sleeve,” he says, but he doesn’t look like he believes what he’s saying. Ichigo waves him off, and Renji slips away.
The sound of the clinic door swinging shut echoes in his wake.

3:02 pm
Rrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Click.
“...Hello?”
“Kurosaki-san?”
“...... Urahara-san?”
“Ah, Kurosaki-san, thank goodness you picked up. If you aren’t busy, I’d appreciate your presence at the Shoten as soon as possible.”
“What? Me? Why?”
A pause; Ichigo finds, for no good reason whatsoever, that he is holding his breath.
“Ah, well. You see, that is—”
Between one accelerating heartbeat and the next—
“Kuchiki-san has collapsed.”

I Don’t Wanna Waste My Time (J.W)
Or where Jeff and Yn are friends with benefits , but Yn want something serious. (Part One)
“Oh my fucking God, Jeff!” Yn moaned
“Tell me what you want baby girl” he said leaving kisses on neck
“Fuck me Jeff, just fuck me” she said, hands clenching the sheets into fists
“Mmm that's a good girl” Jeff moaned as he thrusted into her harder and deeper
The sound of a phone ringing, abruptly woke him up from his dream, it was David.
“What?” he said annoyed
“Jeez, why so angry?
“It's the middle of the night and you woke me take a guess”
“Well just wanted to tell you Zane, Carly, Yn, Natalie, Matt and I are going out and I was wondering if you'd like to tag along” David asked
“I’ll think about it”
“Well if you do come, were going to Karma”
“Okay”
“Okay bye.”
Rolling back to bed, he could feel the boner between his legs. His hand slowly made its way down to the elastic of his boxers, slipping right in he took his cock and started stroking it, closing his eyes as he started thinking about her, Yn. He imagined her on her knees taking him all in as he throws his head back in pleasure, grabbing a fist of her hair, fucking her mouth, her pink lips turning a shade darker. He feels himself getting close. Stroking faster, he finally cums, making a mess of his boxers. For some reason he felt like a teen that could not control his urges. He proceeded to take a cold shower to lower his body heat. He wanted yn, and not only in his dreams. Making his way to his closet, Jeff decided he was going out and getting what he wanted.
“Shots!” Zane yelled as soon as they got to the club. Yn felt Zane grab her and Natalie's hand leading them to the bar area. By the time they had downed their first tequila of the night, David, Matt and Carly had found their way to them. As the night went on, Yn began isolating herself from the group, occasionally dancing with some guys or a random group of girls. At this point, she was swaying her hips to some JBalvin song on her own, really feeling herself, letting loose from everything that was on her mind.
After what felt like forever Jeff finally arrived at the club, he first spotted a very drunk Zane busting his ass off, he then saw Matt and Carly near Zane, making sure he didn’t do anything stupid. As he kept walking toward the small group, he also saw Natalie and David chatting in a table but no sign of Yn. She always did this, she’d get lost and when it was about time to leave she’d magically appear again. Usually this wouldn’t bother Jeff since most of the times she’d get “lost” he would be fucking her in some random place, but now he actually had to look for her. After making conversation with David and Natalie, trying to raise no suspicions about what he was there for, he excused himself to go to the bathroom, but really he was looking for Yn.
“Hey doll, you dropped your phone.” Snapping out of her trance, Yn noticed a brunette boy handing her back her phone, which in fact had slipped off her skirt. He had called her doll, only Jeff really ever called her that did not matter right now.
“Oh thank you so much, I didn't even notice,” she said taking back her phone, not before flashing a cute smile to the boy.
“Im Sebastian by the way”
“Yn”
“It fits you”
“How so?”
“Pretty name for a pretty girl”
“God, you're cheesy,” she giggled
“I've been told”
“I like it, it’s cute”
“I know we just met, but would you like to dance?”
“I'd love to”
After what felt like forever, Jeff was finally able to spot Yn with some guy he didn't know. She was looking very good tonight, a small red crop top contrasting with her skin and making her boobs pop, her black jean skirt hugging her hips and some black vans to finish the look. The way she was dancing with that guy made him want her even more. He almost wished he was him, having her all over his body, but soon enough she would be. Pulling his phone out he texted her a quick hey, in hopes of getting her attention.
Now surrounded by a small crowd, Sebastian and Yn were enjoying themselves, getting closer and closer by the second. Yn decided to make the first move and kiss him, he was surprised at first but he kissed her back. The kiss was smooth, very different from her other experiences, and while standing there she was able to feel her phone ring multiple times. She excused herself to check her phone, thinking it might be david letting her know they would leave soon. It was Jeff. She read the messages he had sent in the past few minutes.
“Hey”
“Doll,are you ignoring me?”
“I need you babygirl”
“Ditch that guy and lets go to my place”
She read the texts over and over again. She was really enjoying sebastian's company, but she really wanted to go over to Jeff’s. Her poor judgement decided she'd leave with Jeff.
“Hold on, meet me in the hallway” she quickly texted back. Shortly after, a voice made her snap back to reality.
“Is everything okay?” Sebastian asked.
“Yeah, my friend was just letting me know we're leaving soon,” she said sadly.
“Oh”
“Yeah, I was really having a good time”
“Well if you'd like a better time let me take you out”
“Like on a date?”
“Yeah, on a date”
“Then it's a date”
“Here I’ll give you my phone and you give me yours and let's exchange numbers” As they exchanged numbers, yn heard her phone ring
“Umm Jeff can't wait to see you” he said dryly
“What?”
“Is he your boyfriend?”
“No, he's my friend, he was out of town and its been awhile since we've seen each other” she lied
“Oh, I'm sorry I just didn't want to get in the middle of anything”
“You're fine, trust me Jeff is just my friend”
“Well here you go” he said handing Yn her phone. “Text you later?”
“I'll look forward to it,” she said as she waved goodbye and left sebastian.
Making her way through the crowd, she finally got to the hallway. There he was, leaning against a wall in his white shirt and black pants, looking at his phone. For some reason he was looking particularly good tonight, his hair was messy, his arms looked more toned than usually, this whole sight was making her horny for him. Yn could feel herself getting wet by the as she approached him, god he looked better upfront.
“Hey,” she said catching his attention. Looking up from his phone, was beautiful Yn. before he even said anything he grabbed her face and just started kissing her. The kissing got heated by the second. Jeff stopped kissing her mouth after a while, and made his way to her sweet neck. Leaving soft wet kisses on it, he then whispered “let's get out of here” giving Yn goosebumps as he grabbed her hand leading them out. “Wait,” she said. “I came with david,” Jeff thought for a second about what they should do until he said: “Okay follow my lead.” Redirecting their path, Jeff carried her in his arms as he looked for were the group was.
“Hey guys, Yn here is very sleepy, so I'm giving her a ride home ”Jeff lied to the group
“Baby, where have you been” drunk Zane said
“Having too many drinks, now I'm sleepy” she answered
“Okay , I’ll see you tomorrow for brunch then”
“Bye guys” both Jeff and Yn said and left.
When they got to Jeff's car, they kissed again before getting in. Since this was going to be a long ride, Yn decided to have some fun. First, she was going to tease Jeff and then make her way to his dick. Feeling it get hard under her touch, she kept rubbing it. Earning a moan from Jeff, she proceeded to unbutton his pants and keep rubbing him through his boxers.
“Fuck Yn, stop that Im driving”
“So keep driving an let me do my thing,” she whispered as she bit his earlobe and made her way to his dick. Taking his cock out of his boxers, she took him all in her mouth and she immediately felt herself gag from how big Jeff was, but still continued to blow him. She could hear him curse under his breath as he was about to cum, and a few minutes later he came all over her mouth as he took a grip of her hair. She gladly swallowed it and just as she was getting herself together she noticed they had reached Jeff’s apartment. They kissed some more on the elevator as jeff pushed her against the wall and carried her to his door. When he finally managed to open it, he put her down and they both started undressing themselves leaving them just in their underwear.
Once they reached the bedroom, Yn layed on top of Jeff, kissing his neck as he played with her boobs. She was grinding against him, and she then felt Jeff flip them leaving her exposed in front of him. His hand travelled down to her panties, slowly massaging her clit and then inserting two of his long fingers into her, God did she loved his fingers.
“Oh fuck Jeff”
“You like that doll?”
“Oh fuck yeah”
“Tell me how much you like it” he said as he gained speed
“I fucking love your fingers so much, Oh fuck I’m so close”
“Cum for me Doll” he said as he felt her clenching her walls around his fingers.
Jeff grabbed a condom from his nightstand drawer on put it on, he knew Yn was on the pill, but better safe than sorry. He was about to position himself on top of Yn when she pushed him back, deciding she would rather ride him. She was so fucking hot. Yn rode Jeff, and as she leaned to kiss him, she could feel herself getting close. Jeff threw his head back meaning he was very close as well. Jeff grabbed Yn’s hips moving them faster, and within minutes, both had managed to cum. Yn got off Jeff and layed next to him on the bed and for a moment, all that could be heard was their heavy breathing .
“That was amazing” Jeff said as he left a kiss on her cheek
“Yeah it was” She said very pleased
“You ready for round two” He asked with a cheeky smile
“No I think I'm just going to head home”
“Why? You usually stay”
“Yeah but I want to get some sleep before the bruch
“Are you bringing anyone
Ï think i might invite sebastian , he's really sweet”
“The guy from the club? You hardly know him”
“So? He won't try to do anything if im with all my friends”
“Well im taking Kelsey”
“Cool , anyways I'm gonna go now”she said “see you at brunch”
The group had decided to meet up at Urth Cafe for brunch, Yn was running late like she did most of the time , but at least she was not going to be the only one late , since Sebastian was coming with her. When they got there she was laughing at something Sebastian has said , she then presented him to the group and sat next to Zane and in front of Jeff and Kelsey.
“Baby , you finally got yourself a man” Zane whispered to her , she giggled and nodded in response , the brunch was going great , except for some backhanded comment from Jeff towards Sebastian , usually she would not think much of it , but she was sensing some of this comments weren't jokes at all, when Yn had enough she spoke
“Hey Jeff would you mind taking a pic with me real quick”
“Yeah sure” he said as she led him to a more private area to confront him.
“What the hell is up with you?”
“What do you mean?”
“Stop playing stupid , why are you giving sebastian such a hard time?’”
“I'm not, im just teasing him”
“Jeff , I know when your teasing and that aint it” she spoke sternly
“Why are you being so weird about it?”
“Because I really like him’”
“What?”
“Look Jeff what you and I have is great but I want something serious and I think this guy could be the one, so please cut the shit”
“Wait so what about us?”
“Its over Jeff , why dont you just fuck Kelsey instead, look Jeff I love you, youre one of the greastest guys I know but , youve said it yourself you dont want anything long term , so what am saying is when can still be friends okay?” She said as she left as kiss on his cheek
“Yeah , just friends then , no sex?” He asked
“No sex” she said “Now lets go I dont want to keep Sebastian waiting”
“I'll be there in a minute I'm just going to the bathroom”
“Okay”
Standing there Jeff felt watched Yn go back to the table , he felt sad for some reason as if they had broken up or something even though they didn't date , he had mixed feeling about the whole situation , he decided to shrug it off , and return to the table , but when he did, he could not help but be angry at Sebastian making Yn so happy , almost wishing it was him .

“Logan?”
“Hm?” Logan says, not looking up from the psychology book.
“The bell rang,” his teacher says, “You need to go to lunch.”
Something in him wants to laugh at that, but he catches himself and tries to correct his response. We do need to go to lunch. Food is fuel. You do need it.
“Just let me finish this sentence,” Logan mumbles. His teacher was trying his best, he assumed, and she had a passion for teaching the material. But the class was simply an elective at a high school, he couldn’t expect to learn everything. Right now, he’s skipping ahead to try and learn more about eating disorders.
There’s a whole paragraph on anorexia nervosa, and it ends with the mortality rate. Logan stares at it, trying to burn it into his brain, trying to flip a switch somewhere in there. This is stupid, he needs to function, he needs to eat, he needs to fuel himself, he needs to eat, he’s ruining his brain, he needs to eat-
Logan slams the book shut. His teacher jumps slightly. “Logan?”
He ignores her, just like he ignores the tears in his eyes. He walks out of the classroom without a word. His dad was right, he never should have taken this class. Maybe he could still switch to Computer Science.
^
Patton, Roman, and Virgil are trying to speak through facial expressions only. They think they are being subtle, or that Logan is too absorbed in whatever he’s thinking to notice. They are incorrect on both fronts.
Though to be fair, he has let his eyes glaze over and gone silent about four times already during this lunch, and it wasn’t even halfway over yet.
It’s Virgil who finally breaks. “Logan, are you like, good?”
“Yes,” Logan says, snapping out of his trance and sitting up a bit straighter.
“You sure?” Patton says, gently, “You seem a bit off today.”
“Yes. I’m eating, I’m fine.”
“Yeah, but you’ve only eaten, like 3/4ths of a celery stick.”
Logan puts the last piece in his mouth. He means to chew it, but suddenly it feels like solid rock sitting on his tongue and he can’t.
“Logan?” Patton says, and he manages to snap Logan back to reality enough for him to chew it.
And that’s how lunch goes. Logan breaks his lunch into pieces, and lets them sit there until someone coaxes him into eating.
By the time the bell rings, Logan has eaten two celery sticks and one fourth of a peanut butter sandwich. It’s when they all start packing up that he finally whispers, “It’s not real.”
“What?” Roman asks, starting to get worried.
“I mean it’s not me,” Logan shakes his head, “I just...look at pamphlets and warnings and definitions, and it doesn’t matter how much it fits. It’s just...not true. It’s not me. I can’t be doing this to myself.”
“Logan…,” Patton says, but now students are standing outside the door, and Logan is brushing everything into the trash and walking away before anyone can say anything.
Virgil pokes Roman in the side, and he yelps.
“Fix it.”
“Me? Why?” Roman asks.
“Because you’re the only one who has a class with him,” Virgil points out.
“I don’t know how to fix it, I don’t even have my own shit together!”
“Well, duh.”
Roman gasps, offended.
Patton debates going after him, but he has a feeling he’d never be able to convince Logan to skip a class to have a talk about feelings, so he just sighs and says, “Uh, guys? We should go.”
^
“You need to get to the bleachers, Crofter,” Coach says. His student has just walked into the gym. Logan’s eyes are glazed over, and he’s focusing on the students, counting each one as they pass him in their warm-up lap.
“Crofter. Bleachers,” his teacher repeats firmly.
Logan visibly shakes himself out of his trance and starts trudging up the bleachers. He actually considered skipping class, as Roman had done the previous week, but everything in him screamed that was wrong.
He has a feeling it won’t work, but it’s worth a shot. Instead of sitting next to Roman, he keeps walking, straight past him. A noble effort, but useless, because Roman just stands up and follows him.
“Do we have to make this difficult? I was really hoping we could just get to the opening up and talking thing that Picani and Sanders are trying to get us to do,” Logan keeps walking, “You know, Coach is going to yell at us for being up here.”
That makes Logan stop. Roman runs into him.
“Seriously? That worked? I mean, okay,” Roman says as they both sit down, “So what is this spacey thing you’re doing?”
“I am not spacing out,” Logan says, “I am counting.”
“Counting? Counting what?”
Calories. Steps. “Nothing,” Logan says, immediately, then he alters it to, “Everything. It’s not important.”
“I feel like if it was unimportant, you would be able to stop doing it.”
“I can stop doing it,” Logan says. Roman looks skeptical, “Stop looking at me like that! I’m fine. It’s fine. You are making a big deal out of nothing.”
“Me?” Roman huffs, “First off, not just me. Me and Virgil and Patton and definitely Picani and Sanders when I tell them.”
“Tell them whatever you want,” Logan snaps, “It doesn’t matter.”
“Doesn’t matter?” Roman suddenly goes quiet, “Logan, what do you mean?”
“I’m not going back to group,” Logan tells him, “I told you during lunch. I don’t have an eating disorder-”
“You don’t feel like you have an eating disorder,” Roman corrects.
“If I don’t feel like I have one, then what makes everyone so sure I do?”
“Probably because you can’t eat anything other than celery, bread, peanut butter, and jam,” Logan flinches at that, “Shit, no, wait-it’s fine. We’re not, like, judging you for your food or anything, it’s just-”
“It’s too much.”
Roman blinks. “Excuse me?”
“Do you know how many calories are in those? Do you know how much is in the jam alone? Because I do, and it’s in my brain and it won’t get out, it won’t stop, it won’t-” Logan’s hands tear at his hair for a second before he pulls them out and takes a deep breath. “I just started eating everything again, without any troubles. I don’t have a problem at all.”
“...I have several concerns,” Roman says, “Okay, one, I do know, thanks, and even for me, four things you feel comfortable eating is, like, a super low number. Two, you are definitely currently having troubles. So there’s a no for that. And also no to you not having a problem. Again, currently, having a very big problem.”
Logan leans forward, puts his head in his hands. Roman sighs.
“Logan? Do you realize why you’re here?”
“To...learn? That’s typically what you go to school for-”
“No. I mean like, right here. On these bleachers. I know it’s really easy to forget, but you are hurting your body and that’s why you have to be up here.”
Logan lifts his head up from his hands, keeping his eyes on their peers below.
“Or maybe he’s just wrong. Maybe all these complications are just in my head-”
“Okay, we’re going to play a game,” Roman says, holding up a finger with one hand and digging for his phone with the other.
“A...game?”
“These complications, what are they?”
“Oh, they’re just little things that show I’m not quite as healthy as someone my age should be-”
“So, little things? Like being cold and shivering?”
“Um. Yes?” Logan says, surprised.
“Dehydration?”
“No, I drink eight glasses a day-” Logan cuts himself off. Wait. “Wait. Dry skin, dizziness, headache...maybe?”
“So, you have headaches, dry skin, and you get dizzy?”
“Yes...I don’t see how this is game.”
“The game is called, ‘Google Anorexia Side Effects and See How Many Logan Has’.”
“Ah. I don’t like this game.”
“Too bad! Ever fainted?”
“No.” His legs have crumpled under him and he’s been left scrambling for the counter to grasp on to. Sometimes his head swims, and he doesn’t remember how he got on the floor or why he’s holding on to the staircase like that. But Roman doesn’t need to know that.
“Fatigue?”
Logan glares at him and doesn’t say anything.
“Got it,” Roman says, putting his phone away. “Now how likely is it that you’re going to explain this counting thing to me?”
“The counting is not a thing, it’s just...sometimes I need to keep my brain occupied.” Because he’s afraid of what will happen if he lets go. He needs something to ground him in reality, to keep him steady. It was a healthy coping mechanism, really. Honestly.
^
Logan was not freaking out. He was trying to prove-no, he was trying to show everyone that he didn’t have anything wrong with him. So, crying over jam is definitely not a possibility.
But he can’t find it. He has searched and moved everything in his cabinet and shuffled things around but he can’t find it.
His mom walks in and he peeks around the door.
“Mom? Did you pick up the jam like I asked you to?”
“Oh, that,” she says, “I actually have been cutting some things out of my diet, to be healthier, so I didn’t pick that up. It’s too tempting to have around the house.”
“Tempting. Of course.”
“It’s not a big deal, Logan, she says, “In fact, a healthier diet may help you out.”
His mind, the traitor, thinks back to gym class and Roman’s “game.”
“Actually, my doctor wanted me to avoid that.”
“Funny, that’s usually the first thing they want to change,” she laughs, then immediately cuts herself off, “Oh darn!” she rushes over to the fridge, where the calendar is hung up. “You were supposed to have an appointment today. If we hurry, we’ll still be late, but maybe-”
Logan knows about the appointment, and he knows he should have reminded her like he does every day. But instead he says, “You know what? Don’t worry about it.”

Slush Pile : Nightmares
While not plot-important, this little scene is something I feel like would go between the current story and the next as Kenny and Dee start breaking more rules to spend time together. I’m still considering it for inclusion in the story, but I don’t know if it fits in just yet or would play any important role to the plot... more likely than not, it won’t make it over to fanfiction, so enjoy this bonus content! Feels, somewhat unsettling descriptions, and cursing ahead! Enjoy!
It’s the right thing.
She’d told herself the moment she began to feel her insides squirming, the way they churned, as if some living creature within her guts were eager to burst forth. It was not unlike the feeling of being entirely too full, the contents of the stomach threatening to burst up through the mouth when the midsection was so much as bent... but it wasn’t an excess of food she was gritting her teeth against, trying desperately to ignore as more and more coppery-tasting black bile was swallowed back, welling up from places unknown. No, no, there was something unthinking and vicious, gluttonous and oh so hungry.
It was going to escape if this didn’t happen. She knew it would. It would emerge from the chrysalis of her flesh, and wreak the very havoc she’d come to avoid.
It’s the right thing.
She looked up, up to the good doctor Kartwright and her silenced pistol where it hovered a mere inch from her brow. This had been the plan since she began throwing up at home, since she arrived in this un-disastered timeline and became aware that she was the disaster, walking about with both the key to salvation and the disease that would consume everything in its wake if not stopped.
She’d expected to cry, or be afraid.
Get it over with.
Gunshots in movies were bullshit-- there was no flash. All of that was edited in post-- and they rarely reflected just how loud a gun was. How the shot could be felt in the flesh and rang in unprotected ears. Even with a silencer, there was a punctuation to a gunshot that was immistakable, a reverberation in the ribs as shocked air rushed away from a point of ignition.
Somehow, she found herself aware of it. Aware of this moment, and perchance that was fitting, as it would be her very last; her last breath, gasped in at the exact second of the shot. Her last impulse, to twitch upwards into a tense posture.
Her last thought, wondering if she really would continue on as the self that was still alive, or if that girl was an entirely separate existence that she’d never get to know.
At least she’ll get to live.
-PAGEBREAK-
She awoke in the dark of her room, not in her bed but on the floor. It wasn’t like she’d fallen out of bed-- no, she was upright, sitting upon her knees. Kneeling.
Her hand flew to her forehead, where she could almost still feel where the bullet had ripped through her. Feel the sensation of skin and skull giving way before her brain had been sundered and her awareness ended in a terrible lack of all. No dark, no light, no sound, nothing.
Terrible, terrible nothing.
But that wasn’t what was here. No, she inhaled deeply and could smell the familiar scent of home. Her room, her blankets, the wood of the house-- even faint traces of the casserole her father had baked that night, probably not more than three or four hours ago.
She was the girl. The girl that other version of her had been so worried about-- the one who didn’t get shot in the head, but had instead safely slept through the whole ordeal, believed sick by her parents and left alone.
Her posture bent, her other hand feeding up into tangled curls of red hair, nails digging into her skull.
She could still feel the track of the bullet, burning, searing, torn through-- the shock-wave that had gone through her brain and turned her gray matter into jelly.
She could still feel herself dying.
She wanted to claw it out. Rip her own head open just to make it stop, as if she could dig in and scratch away the offending sensation like one did an itch. Great balls of hair were gathered into fists, and she pulled, pulled until it hurt, pulled until she doubled over and cried into her knees.
Somewhere behind her, she heard her phone buzz. The sound was distinct; vibration against a hard surface-- her end table? That was where she usually left it, but incidents of sleepwalking had left her phone in odd places before.
Who cares? It’s crazy late. No one is gonna give a fuck whether I respond now or later.
An excuse, an excuse to remain down with her eyes pressed into the tops of her knees, nose fitted into the crease between her legs and her merciless knuckles refusing to loosen their grip.
It buzzed again. And again. And again. And again.
Serial murders snorting jizz, who the fuck needs me this badly at-- at-- at whatever fucking time this is??
Damnit, she had to let go of herself just to check the clock-- 1:00 AM. Oh. That time.
Even as she confirmed it, the sudden barrage of what sounded like texts made even less sense. Who the fuck was blowing up her phone past midnight? Sniveling, wiping her eyes with the back of one hand, she toddled back to her bed and flopped over onto the soft surface of her mattress, reaching across for her phone to unlock it and see which name was taking over her notifications box.
Kenny.
Suddenly, her little episode was near forgotten. She opened her messenger quickly, scared that something had happened, that Kenny needed her and she was just sitting in a heap in the middle of the floor, freaking out about a phantom bullet in her skull.
[Received, 1:00] Hey [Received, 1:00] i no its rlly late but... [Received, 1:00] idk i just had this fucked up dream and it made me worry about u [Received, 1:00] just making sure ur ok [Received, 1:01] srry if i woke u
She blinked at the small wall of texts, having to scroll a little to see all of it. What was he talking about? What kind of dream?
Was he suffering from a memory echo as well? Something from that aborted timeline, or one of the dozens of others she’d undone in the past in which he’d taken mortal damage?
[Sent, 1:01] I’m awake... I actually just had a bad dream, too [Sent, 1:01] Well, not a dream. Memories. Y’know. I’ve told you about it before. [Sent, 1:01] You?
There was a pause, and she worried he may have fallen back asleep, having only been awake enough to send a bunch of texts before passing the fuck out again... but that theory was proved wrong a moment later.
[Received, 1:03] same [Received , 1:03] its weird, i dont remember anything from it when im awake, but the dreams happen and its like remembering, like its real [Received, 1:04] then it fades away again. its almost gone right now [Received, 1:04] cartman was a zombie? he bit me, u pulled him off me, i ran away [Received, 1:04] i was scared for karen
That was something she hadn’t heard before-- then again, she could barely remember what happened half of the time. Certain things stuck in her mind, came and went, but it was so hard to hold two separate realities in the mind at the same time... and other timelines intruded upon her at seemingly random intervals as well. Things got intermixed all the time-- the only one that made the zombie time-line special was the fact that she died at the end of it, and that she’d been speaking to Kenny for a great deal of it... a first, in all of her mishaps through time.
She read over his description, over and over, trying to make herself recall. She thought she did-- mostly she remembered Cartman’s bloated body falling down a set of stairs before she went after him to stomp on his fucking skull. The rest refused to remain solvent.
[Sent, 1:06] i remember him falling down the elementary school stairs.
[Received, 1:06] me too. u jumped on him. i watched long enough to make sure you were okay, but something was wrong with me. i had to run. [Received, 1:07] ... i think i went up to the roof? [Received, 1:07] ... i think i jumped.
That’s one way to make sure you don’t hurt your sister. She couldn’t speak to any of that. She couldn’t remember leaving the elementary school, but she knew some short time after dealing with Cartman, she’d run into Dr. Kartwright, who had given her a cellphone with a message to convince her past self to take action.
She didn’t know what to say to him, what might help. Did she tell him about her own nightmare? How the sensation of being shot haunted her? It felt like she didn’t have room to talk; he’d been through thousands of deaths, spoken about how each and every one of them was still vivid in his memory. That he knew what it was like to be impaled, burned, electrocuted, shot, stabbed, and many others... what was her single moment of suffering in the face of his much more tortuous state?
Her screen blurred. She was tearing up again, swallowing over a lump in her throat while her cheeks burned in a mixture of shame and... and... she didn’t know what-- terror? The danger was past, she was alive, and still the horror of it robbed her of her sleep and left her in this empty and broken state, traumatized by an event that no longer existed.
Sniffing, she typed.
[Sent, 1:09] Are you alright? [Sent, 1:10] I think I’m going to be awake for a while if you need someone to talk to.
She rolled her head into her pillow, stifling a sob.
[Received, 1:10] im good [Received, 1:11] i texted to see if u were ok [Received, 1:11] u said you had a dream too, what happened?
It took her several minutes of shoving her head into her pillow before she even lifted her head and peered at the new set of messages upon her softly glowing screen. She rolled onto her belly, sniffing hard and crumpling her pillow beneath her chest and staring down at her messenger, trying to figure out what to say while the tears once again came to a stop, although breathing was still harder than it should have been.
He asked. She told herself. That makes it worth telling, right?
She typed for longer than she meant to, going into details she’d half-forgotten by this point, but apparently her thumbs were able to uncover those little things-- the sound of the birds out in the woods, the way the leaf litter had felt under her knees, the smell of the oil Dr. Kartwright used to keep her gun clean.
She painted a terribly vivid picture, even to herself. She wrote of the moment, so much so that her phone had to pause a second and convert into a multimedia message because she’d typed too much for SMS. She’d gotten to waking up, the sensation that still itched inside her brain case.
She stared at it. Paragraphs of description, of the horror that had been replaying the most often for her these days. Why? Why this? Did her subconscious choose which moments to fixate upon? Why did this one have to keep coming back to her?
She frowned faintly. Was she being over-dramatic? Maybe this was too much...
[Received, 1:19] pls dont delete anything [Received, 1:19] i want to hear it
HOW THE FUCK DOES HE DO THAT??? Glaring at her phone-- no, no, she was pouting, pouting at her phone, she pressed and held on her great big text-block and hit the ‘select all’ button to copy it, delete it, and type a shorter message in its place.
[Sent, 1:20] WOULD YOU KINDLY EXPLAIN HOW YOU READ MY GODDAMN MIND?!
[Received, 1:20] i know u. u dont think your shit is worth talking about, worth listening to [Received, 1:21] it is. pls tell me?
Knows me too damn fucking well. If this were a spy movie, I’d have to kill him.
With a sigh, the text block was pasted back into the messenger, and she sent it-- her whole episode in grueling detail.
Reading over it, seeing it confirmed as sent made her bury damp eyes into the fabric of her pillow once more. Something in her was so goddamn afraid, but she didn’t understand why.
She remained there until her phone buzzed in her hands. Eyes were bleary and wet when she rose up, blinking a few times.
Then she blinked a few more.
[Received, 1:24] do u want me to come over? [Received, 1:24] i noticed ur basement has one of those little storm windows, i could slip in thru there and we could hang out
[Sent, 1:25] It’s past midnight on a school night, and you wanna hold my punching bag for me?
[Received, 1:25] if itll make u feel better, yeah
... well, if he’s offering...
[Sent, 1:26] I think it would. [Sent, 1:26] Thanks.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You had gone to Russia with Erik, Charles, and Moira. Charles thought your telepathy would come in handy, and on a handful of occasions it did, making you feel proud. Charles made sure you were safe and taken care of the entire time, constantly stealing glances at you, giving you encouraging smiles, squeezing your hand for support and a reminder that he was there.
Once plans were made that you all would stay with Charles and train to fight Shaw and his new army, you arrived at his estate, and it was beyond any of your wildest dreams.
“This...this is where you live?” you breathed, standing next to Charles, staring at the expansive and impressive home.
“This is where we all will live,” he informed, looking over at you, a gentle smile on his ridiculously gorgeous face, making your stomach do flips. The lot of you walked inside, Charles working with everyone to find a living space. All of you would stay on the same hall.
“And here’s your room,” Charles informed, gesturing to the stunning bedroom. “It’s...uh..right next to mine. I just thought that...well..you’d feel better if you were closer to me. The other’s haven’t exactly had the same sort of upbringing you have,” he noted, a tiny bit nervous it seemed. The fact that this compassionate, handsome, caring, warm man was even the slightest bit intimidated by you made you soften a bit, and put you a bit at ease as well.
You smiled gently. “Thank you, for everything you’ve done for me. It means the world, Charles. No one's been as kind to me as you have been.”
“Think nothing of it. We’re practically childhood friends,” he said with a chuckle, which you returned, the feeling of comfort surrounding you again.
“That’s true.”
“Seeing as it’s only the afternoon, we could start training, if you’d like,” he offered.
“Uh, yes, sure, let’s do it,” you stuttered.
“Great, step on in here,” he instructed, gesturing his hand inside. You followed his command and went in to sit on one of the chairs in the small seating arrangement, just one of the ostentatious furniture pieces accentuating the room. Once he sat across from you he put his fingers in a pyramid formation against his chin. Meanwhile, your eyes traced him, trying to commit him to memory. He and you were alone, finally, for the first time and you wanted to take this moment to try and etch everything about him into your head. You didn’t even care if he could hear every thought you were having. You liked Charles, and you didn’t feel embarrassed or ashamed of him knowing it.
“Hmm,” he hummed, trying to determine how best to start. “What would you like to work on first?”
“Stopping the voices,” you quickly stated. “At least...like you can. You don’t constantly hear the chatter...I want the noise to stop.”
“That’s actually rather easy. You’re so focused on getting them to stop that it’s just enhancing your ability,” he explained.
You frowned slightly. “I don’t think I follow.”
He thought of a different way to explain it, a light coming into his eyes when he finally thought of one. He was probably proud and excited to stretch his teaching skills for the first time since graduation. “Have you ever been in a room, and there’s an incessant noise like a grinding or squeaking. At first, it’s all you notice, but then after an hour and you’re watching your favorite TV show or reading or what have you, you don’t notice the noise any more.”
You thought about it a moment. “Yeah.”
“And sometimes, maybe you suddenly think ‘Wait, where did the noise go?’ and then it’s all you can hear again.”
You laughed a little. “Uh, yeah, I’ve done that.”
“But without fail, if something comes in that claims your attention, the annoying noise is gone again, correct.”
You nodded, understanding his analogy. “Yeah. You’re saying I need a distraction, something to focus on.”
“Precisely,” he stated as he pointed you.
“But how am I going to find something to keep me focused and distracted all the time?” you wondered.
“I find pretending I don’t even have the power helps,” he informed nonchalantly as he shrugged and leaned back in his chair.
“Seems easier said than done. How do you just pretend you can’t hear it all the time?”
“Same thought as before. If you start to notice small things, think like you used to before the powers, it’ll be easy. Notice how your pencil has a million bite marks. Notice the girl’s hair down the hall that you like. Notice the boy’s shoes that seem shiny and new. Notice a dog biting at a bee. I promise you, Y/N, if you focus less on stopping the voices and focus more on other things, the voices will simply melt away. You can’t let the focus be on getting rid of the voices though, it has to be about focusing on everything else -- pretending you have no power to ignore.”
You nodded slowly. “I can do that. I can certainly try.”
“Okay, now, in order to really harness your energy, I’d like us to try and get you to get inside someone’s mind and make them see something. For instance, make me see a glass of orange juice on the table over there,” he offered.
You turned to see which table before spinning back to him.
“Uh, I’m not sure I can do that,” you stated.
“Doubt will get you no further in your training, will it?” he asked.
You shook your head.
“Does it hurt to try?” he wondered kindly, his voice as soft as ever.
“No, but…”
“You won’t disappoint me, Y/N,” he assured softly, reading your mind. “As long as you truly try, you could never disappoint me,” he breathed, sincerity and kindness in his voice and eyes. With his encouragement, you tried to put the image he wanted in his mind, but all you could get was repeating “orange juice” in his head.
After three minutes, you sat back and stopped trying. You wanted to pout, to give up, to get upset, but you knew that wouldn’t be the mature thing to do.
“Okay, so what am I doing wrong? What can I do better?” you asked and you knew these were the sort of things Charles preferred to hear. He didn’t want doubt, hesitation, trepidation. He wanted confidence, willing to fail, and willing to improve. And you wanted to give him anything he wanted. You wanted to give him the world, for that’s what he had given you.
“When trying to fool someone’s mind, it’s important to fool yourself. First, you must make sure you nearly believe what you’re trying to show them. The more you believe, the stronger the image. Second, you just need to trick the mind. All we’re giving it is an optical illusion. Not uncommon. The mind sees things all the time that it’s trying to force into it’s reality. When the mind sees something that doesn’t make sense, it forces it to fit there, because the brain can not comprehend with something not making sense.”
“So what do I do?” you questioned.
“You, my dear,” he started, those two little words sending your heart and soul soaring, “are to imagine the scene, and make it fit. The mind will have no choice but to accept it.”
You nodded as you stared at him and he repeated the instructions in a lower voice, slower.
“See the image,” he commanded slowly, and you did. You closed your eyes, seeing the glass of orange juice as if it’d been there all afternoon. “Now get inside my mind, keep your focus on that glass,” he instructed. Your mind on the glass, still seeing it, you reached out to his mind which was as easy as breathing. Now, you were in his mind, hearing his thoughts, seeing your face in his mind, the glass still in your head. “Now,” he continued, “put the image in my head. Almost as if you wanted to show me a photograph. Put it in my mind. Force me to see it. Make me see the image in your head and only the image,” he ordered, his tone a little firmer.
So you did. You put the image in his mind as if you were shoving a photograph from a vacation into his view, clouding all of it. Making sure all he saw was all you wanted him to see. You saw his eyes flutter to the table, your eyes still closed, just watching him. He saw it. He saw the juice, the glass you’d chosen, how full it was.
“I can see it,” he breathed with amazement. “I can see the glass.”
You let out a breath of air, the sound of surprise escaping you as your eyes opened. “I did it?” you asked.
His eyes went back to you from the table, so much power in them, it made your knees weak.
“You did! You did it! I told you were powerful. You’ll be able to do what I can and probably more in no time.”
“Thank you!” you exclaimed, thrilled beyond belief, happy that finally you could do something with these powers.
“Think nothing of it,” he assured, his eyes on yours. He was practically captivated with you, and you with him, utterly.
“I’m so glad I can learn how to use this gift,” you explained, still reeling from the high.
“Powerful indeed. Y/N, you reached out to me from miles and miles away, while you’re unconscious. If you can do all that in your sleep, you can do so much more awake, we just have to unlock it,” he stated, leaning forward, his face getting close to yours.
“I’d love to be able to do that.”
“And we will.” He looked at you a moment longer before saying, “I can’t believe I finally met you. I’ve been wondering about you for so long. Wondering if you were actually real. Wondering what your name was. Wondering what you liked...disliked...Wondering if you ever noticed me in your dreams…”
“I noticed you every time,” you confirmed in a quiet voice, your eyes on his, conviction flowing through your eyes and voice.
His eyes traced all over your face, your body. He was doing what you were earlier-- committing you to memory. You wondered if he was afraid too. Afraid this would all suddenly end, that one of you would just vanish…
“I never thought I would get this chance, this moment…”
“Well...you have it now,” you said. “Maybe we could get to know each other some more?”
“I’d love that,” he said quietly.
The two of you talked all afternoon, well into the late evening. Discussing everything from politics, to school, to movies. You touched on your past a little more and you on his. He had a surprisingly tragic childhood, and you felt kindred to him when he told you. Just because Charles lived in luxury didn’t mean he was happy as a child, but instead of resent thing the world, resenting those who caused him pain, he chose to reach out to others in need. And that made you fall even more deeply in love with him, if that was even possible at this point.
𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝑅𝑜𝓈𝑒 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝐵𝓁𝑒𝑒𝒹𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒮𝓉𝒶𝑔 - Chapter 4: A Heart in a Cage
A Heart in a Cage
England 865 A.D.,
Kingdom of Northumbria
"I am honoured to have you as a guest, King Edmund. I am sure that your stay will be as pleasant as the summer sun, and I hope the princess has made a good trip. " The room was cold, although fires were lit early in the morning to warm it up, in view of the arrival of King Edmund and his daughter, Hella. A princess of rare beauty and intelligence: that's how they all described it. Not that Harold cared much: he would still have to fulfil his duties as a king-to-be, and seal that union with a sumptuous marriage and, it was hoped, even a son. The idea of a marriage was definitely not the most exciting thing in the world, for him, let alone that of a son, especially at that time. But he was still a prince, and all he had to do, at that moment, was obey his father's orders. Yes, his father... when he warned his voice in the lobby, he understood that they would soon arrive in the main hall, and he decided to get up from his chair, reuniting at best, and trying to put on one of his best smiles. The hall was a huge reflection of the richness of his father's reign: large, with a high ceiling and decorated with gilded cornice, and wide windows that overlooked both the city of York and the green fields surrounding it. Harold often gazed at those fields, wondering what the taste of freedom was, the thing he craved the most in the world. On the contrary to what one would expect of a prince, he had never had any ambition in power: it was not his characteristic, that of having great pretensions on a kingdom, let alone the expansion of it. Different were his father’s ideas, so different that he had organized that meeting in mind of the clear expansionist aims. He obviously knew that an agreement with King Edmund was the key to making demands on the kingdom of Mercia, and what better arrangement than a marriage between the two heirs to the thrones? Both young, beautiful, in their best years and with a radiant future ahead. These were the words with which his guardian, the monk Æthelbert had posed the matter to Harold, but everything he saw in that situation was a prison. A golden prison, of course, made of lands, castles, delicious food, gold and women, but still a prison. And Harold was more than convinced that it wasn't exactly what he wanted for his future. He could not shirr his father's will, he could not escape his responsibilities, but all this did not forbid his thought to soar in the air as if it were a swallow, eager to explore worlds that went beyond that of the court within which he had grown up. He loved his land, he loved his people, of course, he could not deny it to himself, but he felt trapped. He had often looked towards the sea, during the long rides on the beaches, wondering how far that blue expanse extended, and what the horizon hid, from what it separated him, as if it was the limit of his freedom.
He had always been very good at getting lost in that kind of thinking, so good that he did not to notice, very often, what was happening around him: and it was exactly what had happened, in that moment. William had to recall him to reality, with a slight blow on his elbow, and only then did he realize he was in the presence of his father, King Edward, King Edmund and his daughter, the famous Hella, of whom he had so much heard of in recent times. "And that, is my young heir, Harold. I hope you heard good things about him! “sentenced his father, trying, in his own way, to pull his praises. King Edmund seemed to support his game: "But of course, naturally. His fame as a leader is great, His Majesty, and the boy receives praise for his infinite beauty and kingship. Which seems to me to be confirmed, isn't it, dear? " He turned to his daughter, who from the moment she had entered had not detached her eyes from Harold even for a second. "Certainly, father, the prince corresponds in everything to the description that ladies and Knights have done at our court, and my honour in being chosen as his consort could not be greater."
Harold restrained himself from swirling his eyes to the sky: all those fine words, all that continual and senseless false courtesy almost made him nauseous. However, it was not in his nature to be rude, especially with women, and certainly he would not have taken from his own principles with the one who was to become his wife, and for this reason he decided to speak, proffering a slight bow before the Princess and her father.
"Good morning, Your majesty. I am as happy as my father for your visit, and your compliments flatter me. And, conversely, I must say that the voices on your daughter's account do not make her justice at all: they diminish her beauty and her grace. "
William, at his side, almost burst out laughing. He knew Harold since they were children, they had grown up together, and he could interpret the tone of his voice and expressions of his face better than anyone else could, and he knew he was lying, shamelessly. Not that Harold gave it away easily, in fact, he had always been a good actor, and as a child had always been him to find the best excuses to hide their mischiefs. But Liam and Harry, as they were calling each other, knew each other better than anyone else in the world. And Liam, basically, knew that Harry couldn’t care less about that woman. And he wondered how others did not notice the light in his eyes, that slowly went off every time Harry did not approve of something and came back to shine like a dragon fire every time his heart was flashing for something else. But moreover, that court was pervaded by falsehood, superficiality, the lust for power that obscured the gaze of every individual, man or woman it was, and it was no surprise that the deepest feelings and desires of each one were ignored: everything was a dark veil, behind which was hidden the depths of the souls who did not want and could not be revealed. And yet Harry was different, Liam had always known this. He did not pursue everything that everyone pursued, he did not crave power, but the freedom to be himself, to be able to love what he really loved. He was like a swallow in a cage, and Liam often had hoped he could be the man who would open that cage to help him escape and soar in flight like the most beautiful among the eagles. "You are even more beautiful than they describe you, Prince Harold," admitted Hella without any shyness, "and certainly kinder and more graceful as they describe you. I wonder how behind such finesse and royalty can conceal the soul of the bloody warrior of which they all tell. " Surely Hella wasn't lying. Harold was handsome, unbelievably handsome. The curly and brown hair adorned his perfectly proportioned face, and framed two perfect, big and very deep eyes, as green as the sea. He didn't smile very often, at least, not lately. But when he did, the world was buying a new light. At the sides of his cheeks, two pronounced dimples appeared with arrogance, and his lips full and red were the boundary to a bright smile that, however, rarely reached his eyes, recently extinguished by sadness, boredom, loneliness.
King Edward smiled: moving his gaze from Edmund, to Harold, to Hella, ignoring Liam almost as if he were not there. His plan was perfect, as always, for that matter, and he knew that his son's fame would be the bait that would make the big fish bite, and he was certainly not wrong. His son was as handsome as the sun, having inherited his mother's traits, and strong as a wolf, having inherited this trait from him: a perfect blend for a young bachelor prince, and an equally perfect lure for his expansionist aims. Not that the king was an ungraceful or unpleasant man, indeed. Edward had a couple of insightful blue eyes, and, just like his son, his hair was curly, but of an ash-blond colour. His face was always perfectly shaved, his forehead wide and his cheeks slightly sunken, furrows of the years that passed even for him, although he was not so forward in age. He was a tall man, reaching the metre and eighty-eight centimetres, with a dry physique, but perfectly fit for his age, and even his smile, like that of his son, dug into his cheeks two small dimples. For a fearsome warrior, when he was outside the battlefield, his manners were of immense grace, and his gestures were fluid, soft, and his smile accompanied each of them. Many of these features, Harold had inherited, although it was endowed with a more pronounced sensibility, which certainly did not belong to King Edward. He was a kind man, sure, but stern, rigid, and sometimes ruthless. But he knew how to hide everything very well when he needed it.
"I suppose you have been informed of the way we intend to celebrate this marriage promise, King Edmund," explained Edward aloud, enlarging his arms, while Harold had brought his gaze outward to that sumptuous royal residence, " Tonight there will be a wonderful feast, with the sweetest drinks of the kingdom and the most delicious foods! "
"Of course, we have been informed, and we look forward to taking part in these celebrations" confirmed Edmund, sharing the enthusiasm, unjustified, thought Harold, for that news. That evening, the banquet was the richest that had ever been seen in all the years of King Edward's reign. Not that he was a cheap bear, of course, there just never was a chance for something so special. The hall was grandly illuminated by the finest candles of the best craftsmen in Northumbria, and the music was that of the best instrumentalists in the kingdom. The food was absolutely exquisite: suckling pig cooked with honey, red and juicy onions, the richest and tastiest soup that had ever been eaten: this, at least, was what King Edmund had said in his drunken state after the fourth carafe of wine he had drained on his own. Ladies and Young Knights danced to the rhythm of the most beautiful music, laughing and exchanging fleeting glances of love and lust, men did not lose an opportunity to stretch their hands on the serves, and the Kings had certainly not spared themselves in drinking, and now they were satiated and drunk enough. William had found a lady with whom he had exchanged a few words and a dance, while Harold sat in his armchair, next to his betrothed, who throughout the evening had attempted to get out of his mouth a few words that were not said by courtesy, but with poor results.
"Are feasts always like this, here?"
"More or less... are they not like this everywhere?" Harold spoke little, and softly, but his voice was warm and profound, and he would have seduced any living creature endowed with the faculty of hearing. Never a word too much, never one less: he measured the words almost as if they were honey, and he gave them great value. He chose them carefully, and he was always carefully trying to make them come out in the right way.
"I suppose so, but... it looks special tonight. But maybe it's not the party itself... " Hella had turned around to look at him for the first-time during evening. His penetrating gaze had lain on her for the rest of the whole day since he had had looked at her in the morning, and that evening she had not dared to look at him again: she still felt the burning sensation that his eyes had left her on the skin, in that fast but delicate kiss which he had devoted to her that morning, during their meeting. But now she felt the need to look at him again, she felt the need to know the man who, at the end of the day, would shortly be her man. And she had no modesty when, after turning around towards him, she had stretched her hand to touch the prince’s. His hands were another of the details that made him look almost like a sort of demigod: wide, tapered, warm and soft. Or at least, this was the kind of touch that she had imagined on her own skin. And now she had confirmation that his skin was as soft as the finest wool in England. Hella was a beautiful young woman, about eighteen years old: long black hair fell on her shoulders, almost looking like a whole with the velvet robe that she was wearing that evening. Her eyes were of a bright amber colour, inflamed by a craving for power and lust. She was not very tall, and next to Harold she almost looked like a child, but certainly girlhood innocence was not her distinctive trait. "Perhaps it is the idea of having such a handsome, mighty man to make me so... merry." Hella had let his hand slip under the table, on Harold's knee, letting it make its way up his thigh, while those words had been whispered to his ear, making sure that no one could hear them, no one but him.
But Harold had never loved physical contact, and drew back immediately, rising from the seat that suddenly seemed to him the least comfortable place in the whole world.
"What are you doing?!"
And the world seemed to snap and retract with him, just in that moment. The music had ceased, the doors of the Great Hall had been wide opened, and a cry of terror had risen from the corridors.
"The Demons, your Majesty! The Demons from the sea! "
Tie a Yellow Ribbon // Jubes & Jono
@short-fuse-long-jacket
It was late afternoon in the middle of the week, and there was a rare sight in the faculty and staff living hall: Jono’s door was propped partway open, giving some sort of illusion of approachability. In reality he was hoping to catch Jubilee on her way back from wherever she happened to be, figuring he’d rather talk to her in person over sending any unnecessarily ominous “I need to talk to you” or “I’m leaving” texts.
Jono was dragging his feet while packing for that reason, glancing to the clock from time to time while he crammed a week’s worth of clothing into the frayed and well-worn canvas duffel that sat open on his bed. He had some time, but was already figuring it wouldn’t be enough. This was a feeling he was unused to. Normally he’d be excited about a mission, grateful for a chance to get off campus and see some action, but this felt different. It wasn’t as if he thought Jubilee didn’t worry about him when he was away before -- he’d spent his fair share of time watching the clock while she was away in past years -- but now Jono was wishing communications blackout wasn’t required so he could still check in, even if for purely selfish reasons.
/’Ey,/ he mumbled as Ex wandered across the bed and made a third attempt to climb into the duffel. /Yeh can’t go where I’m goin’, haven’t had the proper training./ Jono scooped the cat up to let him crawl onto and perch on one shoulder, pausing to settle his hands on his hips and glance around. His gaze lingered on the mission-issue tablet towards the end of the bed, still open to the dossier.
Jubilee was on her way back from a particularly raucous meeting of the GSA where Logan had sat in the corner reading ancient Japanese poetry and left her to corral the students into something resembling order. As usual her efforts met with limited success, but what success she had was worth it and she left the room smiling and shaking her head at their antics.
She was heading back to her room when the sight of Jono's door ajar made her pause for a split second. She poked her head in to find him standing near his bed with Ex up on his shoulder. "Hey, 's the world ending? You left your door open and...well, that's probably the fifth sign of the apocalypse." She caught sight of the bag and the tablet. "Oh." She shuffled her feet awkwardly until she could lean against the door frame. "You allowed to tell me where you're goin'?"
Jono started to turn as soon as he heard Jubilee’s voice, the Purrfessor launching neatly from his shoulder regardless of the height to bound over to greet her. /’Ey, sunshine./ His tone was apologetic, as if it were somehow his fault he was being tapped for this mission. /I can’t, but only because we’re not even really sure where we’re goin’, yet. Kind of a movin’ target./
He didn’t offer her the tablet but he didn’t exactly shut it off, either, stuffing a couple more shirts from the pile into his duffel before pushing it aside to turn and sit at the edge of the bed, gesturing for her to come closer. /Shouldn’t be more than a few days, though. ‘Ow was the meetin’?/
Jono tried not to seem too eager to change the subject, but he figured a little distraction at this point never hurt anyone.
She chewed her lower lip anxiously for a second but tried to put on a smile. "Well if it's Fing Fang Foom just skip all the trying to fight him stuff and just feed Logan to him. You'll be back in a coupl'a hours.”
At his motion she came into the room, closing the door behind her and stepping into his space. With him sitting she got to be taller for once and she was going to take advantage of it.
"It was good. Pretty typical, stopped Quentin from declaring himself supreme ruler again, so that's a thing that happened." She tried not to sound distracted but she was thinking about the mission and all the things that could happen.
/Savin’ the world, yet again./ Jono reached out to catch his fingers in Jubilee’s belt loops and pull her in close, his legs resting at either sides of hers and hands settling at her hips. Ex made various noises of protest from the floor before vaulting up onto the bed and making another run for the duffel. Jono didn’t bother to stop him this time.
He looked up at her with a warm, absent smile in his eyes, trying his best to be reassuring. /Shouldn’t even be a fight. ‘Opefully just recon. Some new group a’wankers callin’ itself Gene Nation. They called me in since we dealt with ‘em before./ If by “dealt with” Jono meant “got kidnapped by,” though this was probably not the time to bring that up. /But it’ll be a surprise if it’s any of the old group. They’re all missin’ or dead. Probably just some wannabes lookin’ to be put in check./
"Always." She grinned. "From pink haired baby anarchists and boring color schemes." She cupped one side of his face for a second, then thinking better of it, looped her arms around his neck. "Now there's totally gonna be a fight. You can't actually say it's going to be just recon, that's like saying Macbeth when you're putting on the show."
"Don't accidentally take Ex with you. He's not cleared for fieldwork." She inclined her head towards the bag where Ex had only his head sticking out. "You taught him that, by the way, keeping him in your coat and hoodies all the time."
She grumbled at the mention of Gene Nation. "I remember them." She leaned down and nudged her nose against his, half offering comfort and half looking for it. "When do you leave?"
/I tried to tell ‘im he doesn’t have the proper trainin’./ Jono didn’t bother to see what the cat was up to, closing his eyes and inclining his head to rest his forehead against Jubilee’s.
/Jet lifts off in less than an hour,/ he murmured, his arms looping more completely around Jubilee’s hips to draw her in against him. Jono wasn’t trying to be needy but the contact was more than welcome, wanting to take full advantage knowing that he’d have to go without for the next few days. He considered telling her he’d miss her, but wasn’t sure if that was laying it on too thick. Even if he knew it to be true.
"He fits right in around here. Wants to run before he can crawl." She said.
She made a displeased sound at the timetable. "I had to catch feelings for a superhero." She said, aiming for a wistful sigh but just ending up sounding proud. "Do you have to keep packing? Or do you want to- you've probably got stuff to do." She interrupted herself, not backing away but straightening up a bit.
/Nah,/ Jono replied quickly, even though he likely did, and his arms tightened almost instinctively around Jubilee in case she did decide to start pulling away. /I mean, it was mostly packin’. And that’s done. Minus cat./ Or plus cat, depending on how you looked at it.
He couldn’t help but pull a face for being referred to as a superhero, something Jubilee no doubt wouldn’t be surprised by, and shook his head slowly. /More like catchin’ feelings for a self-destructive git who isn’t quite sure when to stop when it comes to defendin’ people who hate us,/ Jono pointed out with all due amusement, his tone far less dour than the actual statement.
She poked him in the forehead with one finger, tilting his head back until he was looking at her. "That is, in fact the definition of a superhero." She took the opportunity to dart down and kiss him.
Jono considered arguing but figured she had a pretty good point, so he chuckled quietly and encircled his arms that much more completely around her waist as he inclined his head up into the kiss. His phone buzzed somewhere at the head of the bed and he pointedly ignored it, only pulling away a moment later in favor of bumping his nose to Jubilee’s again with an absent, contented sound.
/You ‘n Ex are going to have plenty of fun without me,/ he decided, his fingertips sneaking just under the hem of her shirt to rest against her lower back, comforted by the touch. /Y’might even go to bed at a normal hour./
She made a disgruntled sound into the kiss as his phone buzzed, only to replace it with a happy hum when he ignored it.
She shook her head at him, smirking. "Nope, we're both going to sit in the highest window, watching and awaiting your return. Zero fun, all the suffering." She bumped their noses again and at the same time his fingers made their way under her shirt, hers slipped into his hair.
"I could do that, oooor, I could finish my paper."
Chuckling again, Jono nodded slowly as he looked up at her, unwilling and frankly unable to look anywhere but at Jubilee in this moment, his hand inching higher until his palm could rest comfortably at the curve of her back. /Sounds like a much better use of your time,/ he pointed out, tone playful but also as warmly reassuring as he could manage. /’Cause I’ll be back before yeh even notice I’m gone./
She was still struggling not to ask if they could use her on the mission and it was only from years of reminding herself that if they needed her, they would have asked, that she was able to keep from saying it. Instead she made a pleased noise at the contact. "Maybe, but a fair bit of missing you is gonna happen too."
A little part of her wanted to kick him for telling her he'd be back when they both knew he couldn't promise anything of the kind, but that was probably an argument for another day. "You'd better." She said instead.
/Promise,/ he assured her, bringing his other hand up to offer his pinky and tugging her hand towards his chest when their fingers were looped. Jono’s phone buzzed again, and he shot it a brief and unimpressed look before continuing to ignore it in favor of Jubilee. /I’ll miss you, too, sunshine./
Jubilee couldn't help but smile at receiving a pinky promise that he wouldn't die, 'cause of course that's how they'd do things. "You should check that. Might be Scott or somebody, mission might have changed." She really wished he didn't have to, but this was what they'd both signed up for and eventually there'd be a mission that she'd get pulled for and they'd have to do this all over again.
"Damn straight you will."
/Mission can wait ‘til the time I was told the mission was,/ Jono decided flatly, demonstrating that legendary Starsmore teamwork and looping his arm back around Jubilee’s waist to pull her in again.
He was being a bit immature about it, certainly. But there were plenty of times in recent memory where the last thing Jono wanted to do was let Jubilee go, and the prospect of having to do so for days wasn’t helping. He closed his eyes and nuzzled his nose against her jaw before leaning in to bury his face against her neck. /I’ve got a gorgeous girl who ‘as all my attention right now./
'Since when am I the responsible one?' She mused to herself. "J- eep!" She squeaked when he tugged her back to him. It would be easy to give up there and she did let herself lean into him for a minute, tangling her fingers in his hair and rubbing soothing circles into his scalp. "If they're trying to get a hold of you then the mission might not be able to wait." He nuzzled into her neck and that was much better than letting him leave, but also not what needed to happen.
"Check your phone," she urged, angling her head a press a kiss to his temple. "If it's nothin' y'can keep holding me, and if the mission got moved up you'll get back that much sooner." Another kiss, "An' I promise when you get back we can cuddle for as long as you want."
Jono actually let out a sigh, a vestigial sort of sound, and nodded slowly against Jubilee’s neck. /Okay./ It took him a moment longer but he pulled away enough to sit up straight and look her in the eye, pointing with one hand. /But I’m only checkin’ ‘cause you asked./
He didn’t move far, his other hand still resting at Jubilee’s hip as he leaned back and stretched for his phone instead of any more sensible way to grab it. Eventually snagging it with his fingertips, Jono straightened up and tapped the screen, frowning faintly as he scanned the notifications. /Mission’s moved up,/ he muttered, turning the phone off again and tossing it aside to gather Jubilee against him again. /’Chamber, we need you ‘ere yesterday.’/
Still, Jono didn’t make any moves to get up.
She shook her head at him, trying and failing not to smile. "Your sacrifice is noted." She watched as he checked the messages, rocking back on her heels a couple times to keep herself occupied. She stopped when he relayed the message. "Balls." Was her succinct assessment of the situation. She glanced at where he'd thrown his phone. "It's radio silent isn't it?" She asked, hugging him a little harder.
"Jono..." But she wasn't loosening her hold either, she just burrowed her head into his neck. "This blows, like, mega-hard, but we'll get used to it." She backed up, trying to tug him to his feet but neither of them moved much. She giggled into his hair. "C'mon sparky, time to save the world. Our friends need you."
/Yeah. Okay./ He had to work himself up to it, but with one more squeeze around Jubilee’s middle he got himself to standing, hand coming up to brush her cheek and then briefly through her hair.
/’member, I’ll be back before you even notice,/ Jono murmured, his gaze softening as he looked down at her for a moment and then leaned in for another kiss, letting this one linger as his hand curled at the nape of her neck.
Something tightened in her chest when he stood and she wasn't sure the feeling would go away until he got back. "You want me to walk with you to the jet? Or is here better?" Probably here, considering everyone would know exactly why he was late if she went with him.
When he kissed her she let her eyes drift closed and her hands come between them to grab his jacket and hold him there (though he wasn't exactly pulling away).
/Stop it. 'M gonna notice./
Jono’s eyes were soft when he pulled away, nodding lightly and brushing his thumb against the curve of her jaw before letting her go, but not without some clear reluctance. /’Ere’s better, that way Scott’s only gonna yell at me./
He gently ushered the Purrfessor out of his duffel for the umpteenth time, offering the kitten to Jubilee before he zipped and shouldered his bag, turning off his phone to leave on the desk and grabbing the tablet to tuck under an arm. Glancing around with even more reluctance, Jono finally headed them out the door, closing and locking it behind.
Hesitating, he brought his free hand up to brush at Jubilee’s cheek again. /Back soon, luv. Try an’ behave yerself./
She managed to stop herself from holding his hand to her face when he touched it, but only barely.
She nodded her agreement, "Ok." She didn't mind Scott being upset with her, but she couldn't figure out a way to take any of the blame without earning Jono some vicious teasing. So yeah, here was better, but that didn't mean she had to like it.
"I never behave, I'm a terror, remember?" She teased, her eyes sparkling. She caught his hand and pressed a kiss to his palm. "Be safe, ok?"
/’Ow could I forget?/ He teased right back with a similar glint of mischief, considering that conversation and where it’d led before. He stepped in close to Jubilee and nodded, bringing his hand up to cradle the nape of her neck and pull her in for a quick kiss, paying absolutely no mind to anyone who might be passing in the hall. /And I will. No worries./
Taking a step back with an unmistakable smile that he at least hoped was reassuring, he raised his free hand to offer her a snappy salute. /See you in a few, Lee./ And before he could get distracted any more than he already had been, Jono turned on his heel to head down the hall towards the garage wing.
She returned the kiss, meeting him as close to half way as she could by standing on her tip toes. When they parted she gave him a grin that was at least 50% real and a little wave that she knew made her look adorable.
"Later, Starsmore." He turned and she watched him make his way down the hall. In her arms the Purrfessor made an concerned chirruping sound, looking up at her. "It's ok, buddy. He'll be back soon." She scratched under his chin, earning her a purr. "Promise."
Jono kept his promise to be safe but had a little more difficulty with the “back before you know it.” A few days turned into several, and it ended up being after nine days total that the team finally was able to drag itself home, largely in one piece. He hadn’t been thrilled with the amount of time it took or the energy expended, but all in all the mission had been successful and non-fatal, so it was difficult to argue with that outcome.
Barely able to keep his eyes open as he shuffled down the living quarters hall, Jono pushed a hand through his unkempt hair and thought about nothing but how much he wanted to sleep, ideally with Jubilee beside him. He rapped his knuckles against her door in passing, not waiting for the door to open but continuing to his own to unlock it and push it open.
/Jubes?/ he tried, tone thick with exhaustion and almost bordering on a yawn, if he still did such things. He dragged his feet inside to drop his duffel and sit down on the floor to start unlacing his boots. /M’home./
It wasn't the highest window but since Jubilee had gotten word that the blackbird was on its way back (thank you Rogue!) she'd been sticking as close to her room as possible. This was equal parts to avoid being a creep by meeting him in the hanger and so that she'd know as soon as he was back.
She jolted at the rap to her door, startling Ex out of a light doze. She was out in the hall by the time his tired voice reached her and skidding to a stop outside his door before he'd finished. "Jono!" It took all of a half second worth of blurred movement before she was on him, knocking him back onto the floor in her enthusiasm. "Shit! Are you hurt? Did I hurt you?"
Jono let out a surprised grunt as his back hit the floor, but that was followed soon enough by an amused and almost relieved chuckle as he looped his arms around Jubilee’s waist, apparently fine with this spot with her on the carpet. He didn’t even care if the door got shut, quite frankly. /M’fine, luv. Just bloody knackered./ He reached up to hook a finger in the bandages at his cheek, pulling them down enough to show her some of the blue energy leaking out. /Took a lot outta me, but m’in one piece./
Even though his boots were untied he hadn’t quite gotten them off of his feet by the time he had an armful of Jubilee, so he squirmed under her for a moment until he could toe those off. /Don’t breathe in,/ Jono cautioned. /Haven’t showered in days./
She gave a whistle at the color his flames had turned. "Whoa, haven't seen that particular shade of blue on you in a while." As soon as the bandages were back in place she nudged at his nose with her's. "Could'a gone a while longer without it, but I'm glad you're ok." She sighed happily, the anxiety of the last nine days starting to melt away as she nuzzled his cheek, dropping little kisses when her lips met skin.
She rolled her eyes. "Just keep your feet down there an' we won't have any problems. The rest of you smells fine." Maybe a little better than fine, if she was being honest. "'S all manly or something."
/Hm./ Amused, Jono let his eyes slide shut as he ran his hands absently up and down Jubilee’s back, obviously appreciating the ability just to be near her again. /’m too tired to care if yer just blowin’ smoke, so I’ll take it./
He opened one eye again enough to look up at her, tried to think through the million different ways to express how much he’d missed her, and instead only managed to return the nudge to her nose and say it simply. /I missed yeh, sunshine./
"And I totally noticed you were gone." She wiggled a little, trying to get comfortable on top of him.
"For waaaay longer than you said you'd be, jerkface." She pouted her lip out, hiding an obvious smile behind it. She shook her head and reached up to push her hair over one shoulder when it fell everywhere. "I missed you too." She added, her eyes and voice soft.
/I know, m’sorry./ His tone was amused regardless, since he knew Jubilee was just giving him crap. He reached up to playfully tweak her lower lip. /Superheroes have a piss-poor concept of being on time./
Jono also had a terrible concept of being on time in general, but. For once, at least, it wasn’t his fault.
He helped Jubilee out with brushing some of the hair over her shoulder with a firm and affectionate touch, his knuckles coming back to brush the length of her cheekbone. /Can yeh miss me for another forty-five minutes? ‘Cause regardless of smellin’ manly, I would kill for a bath right now./ He paused, and despite exhaustion, he was never too tired to tease. /Or, I mean. Yeh can watch./
She squeaked when he pinched her lip, all pretense of pouting gone. "Irredeemable." She said with a nod, remembering his comment about punctuality, "proud that you can admit you're a superhero though."
He helped her get her hair in order, which she appreciated. It's the longest it has ever been and she threatens at least weekly to cut it short again for convenience's sake. The brush over her cheek had her sighing in contentment, happy to have this again.
"I guess." She said, sounding put upon. The tease though, had it been about anything else she would have been all kinds of flustered, but the memory of barging in on him in the bath had been...rather frequently referenced in her mind since she started falling for him and she had opinions on that matter. She gave a considering hum instead, running a fingertip over the spot where his mouth would be. "Not tonight, but someday," she promised biting her lip as she decided how far to take it. "And when I do," though watching had its own appeal, "I'm thinking less spectator sport and more full contact."
/Full contact, huh?/ It was difficult for Jono to mask how pleased he was whenever Jubilee escalated their teasing, his hand slipping past the hem of her shirt as it’d done the afternoon before he left, hand palming the small of her back. /You really did miss me,/ he murmured with some amusement in return, inclining his head towards her touch and briefly distracted by the way she bit her lip.
/We’ll stick with ‘someday.’/ Jono closed his eyes again and bumped his nose affectionately to Jubilee’s, relaxing that much more underneath her. /Since I hope that someday, every one of my bleedin’ muscles won’t hurt as much as they do now./
"Mmmhmm." She confirmed, because yes, someday that was happening, but for now the hand on her back was enough. "I did." She said, with what might be a too eager nod.
She returned the nose bump and surprised him with a quick kiss while his eyes were closed. "Probably a good decide." She rolled off of him and to the side so he could get up, sprawling ridiculously on the floor. "My research says that you should be sore after, not before." She flashed him a mischievous grin.
/And definitely exhausted,/ Jono agreed with a chuckle, keeping his spot flat on the floor for a moment even once Jubilee moved, his hand finding hers to squeeze briefly.
He was still for another moment before he steeled himself and pushed up to sitting with a bit of a groan, slipping out of his jacket and dropping it behind him on the floor as he reached out with one long leg to swing the door shut. That accomplished, Jono reached behind his head to grab handfuls of his t-shirt at his shoulderblades and tug that off, too, leaving his bandages in haphazard array with some cracks of blue energy peeking through. He paused there and just… sat, his legs in a lanky V in front of him as he looked like he might fall asleep just like he was, blinking tiredly.
Jubilee watched the slow struggle to an upright position, quietly proud of him. She'd seen him collapse when he'd used that much energy before, so the fact that he was still going had her impressed. There was also a strong impulse to baby him that she tried to resist, not wanting to be too clingy, but it's not like they hadn't helped each other before they started this. "Can I help?" She asked, rolling onto her side and hooking two fingers in his bandages and tugging.
/Yeah./ There was a lot of relief in that one word, like he’d been reluctant to ask (and he was) but was happy to accept when offered. Despite being terrible at asking for help in general, Jono never minded accepting it from Jubilee -- probably because he knew for a fact she never offered out of pity, only out of a genuine desire to make his life less awful. And he really wished he had a better way to express just how grateful he was for that.
Instead, all Jono really managed was leaning back on one hand and reaching over with the other to give Jubilee’s knee an appreciative squeeze, his tone sheepish. /Thanks, luv./
Her smile when he said yes was easily the brightest thing in the room. Sure, it involved a half naked Jono (something she was decidedly pro about), but when it came down to it she really just liked helping him and the fact that he trusted her with this...she wasn't sure she knew a word for how that felt.
She rolled up onto her knees and pressed a kiss to his cheek before positioning herself slightly to the side and behind him. The first few inches, his face and neck were easiest and when she made it to the base of his neck he paused to touch the rarely seen skin there and leaned in to kiss one of the upper notches of his spine before continuing down. The part where they crossed over his chest to cover his shoulders took the longest, weaving ends in and out in that repetitive pattern became almost meditative. It wasn't until his shoulders were free that she realized how subdued his flames were. Normally there were a few licking over his shoulder but the now there was only a lazy blue glow.
She wound the bandages as she went, setting the rolls aside as she finished them until she had three balanced in a neat little pyramid. "All set." She stroked a hand down his back. "Go get your bath so you can get some sleep."
Jono’s shoulders sagged bit by bit with the easing of the pressure as Jubilee unwound the bandaging, the relief evident in the way he rubbed at his side to try and soothe some of the angry red lines left in his skin by the fabric. Tight quarters with the rest of the team meant he hadn’t had much respite from the bandages even when sleeping, and he was glad to be rid of them, especially considering the low level of the flames. Jono’s hand hovered at the edge of them as he examined the blue tinge, eventually bringing his attention back to Jubilee as she ran her hand down his back and he shivered faintly before smiling. /Thanks, luv./
He tilted his head to look at her, glancing over her face for a moment before continuing. /You can stay in ‘ere, if you want. It’s okay if yeh don’t, I know it’s early,/ he amended, running his hand lightly up and down the outside of her thigh where he could reach it. /And you probably don’t want t’watch me sleep for ten ‘ours straight. But I’d still like to see more of yeh… before I do./ His tone was a bit awkward, trying not to appear too needy, but… yeah, he was feeling needy.
That earned him a wry smile. "I was gonna ask you if it was ok if I stayed." She covered his hand with her's, giggling. "What is it with you and me watching you do stuff?" She shook her head. "I plan on being an active participant in this ten hours nap," she shifted a little awkwardly, shrugging, "I might not have slept great while you were gone..." Another shrug, "I'll go change into pajamas while you're in the bath?" It was a struggle not to reach out and touch him, wondering if she could get closer than the flames would normally allow. Ok, it was a struggle she lost. She ran her fingertips down the side of his neck, edging closer to the edge of the furnace.
/Yeah. Sorry ‘bout that, luv,/ Jono murmured sympathetically, glancing down at where Jubilee’s hand rested over his, giving her leg what he hoped was a reassuring squeeze.
He stilled as he felt the tips of her fingers sliding carefully towards the front of his throat, but didn’t bother to warn against it. Jubilee knew better than most of all the dangers, of this he was certain, and he wasn’t about to insult her on that front by telling her to be careful. Instead Jono focused on dampening his energy just a little bit more, not having much difficulty considering the state of it. The blue flames seemed to coil in on themselves as he concentrated, forming a vague shape almost like a memory of a jaw beneath the other half of his face.
She shrugged and shook her head. "Don't be. It's just how missions go sometimes. 'Sides, you're worth loosing a bit of sleep over."
As with most things she did, her current exploration was mostly fueled by impulse. She half expected him to jerk away or tell her she was going to get hurt but it never came. He simply sat very still and as her hand drew closer to the wisps of blue flame they receded, pulling back into his body. She tilted her head as she watched them, her fingers maybe a half inch away from the place where skin ended and fire began. It was warm and she could feel the hair on her arm stand up as a rare bit of flame came out to lick near her fingertip. The flames only drew back so far, but they more they did the more Jubilee was left with the impression of an indistinct shape where he'd once been flesh. "Are you...have you ever done that b'for?"
Jono was so focused on keeping his energy in check that when Jubilee spoke his response was delayed, both due to the time it took to process what she said and a measure of confusion for figuring out what she meant. He tried to look at her out of the corner of his eye, in favor of not moving any part of him towards her by turning his head. /Done wha’ before… ?/
With an equal amount of care she used her free hand to get her phone out of her pocket and flipped through the filters until she found one that looked the most like what she was seeing. She snapped a bunch in a quick burst and with a last brush of her fingertips, pulled her other hand away.
"This." She said, scooting closer for him to see. She flipped through the pictures, pointing out the vague boundary the fire seemed to form, the line of a jaw and throat. As far as she could remember, Jono had always depended on the bandages to keep the flames in check and all his training had been centered on how to project them outwards, rather than drawing them in.
/Huh, tha’s… / Jono trailed off, leaning in closer against Jubilee with an absent frown, one hand reaching up to rub absently at the back of his neck. The energy started to lose form as he stopped paying attention to it, back to a more nebulous, curling shape. /... tha’s strange. I don’t think I ‘ave./
He couldn’t help but stare at the shape of it, shaking his head slowly as his frown deepened. What was that supposed to mean? There was still some sort of… shape under there, under the energy? It certainly answered some questions, but it raised a lot more. Eventually Jono sat up straighter again, hand moving to rub at his eyes. /’Ere I thought I wasn’t gonna get any weirder./
"Explains why the bandages stay the way they do," she said, her tone considering. "And why they don't move with the flames."
She watched his expression closely, trying to guess at what he was thinking. She pushed his hair back from his face and brushed the backs of her fingers over his cheeks. "It's not something to worry about now. You're exhausted. Go clean up, I'll go change and we'll both get some sleep, okay?"
He still looked concerned but seemed to pull back from the emotion, rubbing at his eyes. The only response she had to his comment was an almost dark laugh, "Oh Jono, you're an X-man. There's always room to get weirder."
/Yeah./ Jono couldn’t help but chuckle and only a little bitterly, shaking his head and dropping his hand to his lap again as he looked to Jubilee with a grateful sort of expression. /Always somethin’, innit?/
He patted right above Jubilee’s knee before giving it a firm squeeze and starting to move again, managing to get to his feet with minimal groaning and only one or two swears. /’least you know that if I fall asleep in the bath I can’t drown,/ Jono figured with a tone of amusement, draping an arm around Jubilee’s shoulders as soon as she was standing to pull her into a careful side-hug.
Jubilee watched him get to his feet before jumping lightly to her own. "Hm. That's one of the things that I find so attractive about you." She teased, leaning into the hug. "Being impervious to drowning is such a turn on." She hopped up a little to try and kiss his cheek but it wasn't quite enough. "If I didn't think you'd fall over I would just climb you." Instead she tugged on his arm until he leaned down enough for her to kiss. She was going to have to wear heels more often.
"I'll check on you in a bit to make sure you haven't fallen asleep." Her eyebrows shot up after the words left her mouth, "With the link!" She'd been talking such a good game before but apparently that streak was over. "Not, you know, with my eyes-" she could feel herself blushing. "Imma pajamas now!" With that she bolted out of the room and into hers.
"Smooth, Lee." She said to her reflection, "Hella smooth." She changed into her pineapple print pajamas, grabbed a book and gathered up the Purrfessor (still sleeping quite heavily). She locked the door behind herself in Jono's room and slid in under the covers. /Ex and I have invaded your bed, but we're gonna say we discovered it and claim manifest destiny./
Jono hadn’t wasted much time in drawing a bath and stripping down, but as soon as he sank into the hot water and salts he’d added he was far more concerned with relaxing and letting his muscles un-knot than actual scrubbing. Arms draped over either side of the tub to keep himself from sinking in entirely, he leaned his head back against the rest and smiled softly when Jubilee’s voice came over the link. /So, what we were sayin’ earlier was right, then -- y’are a terror in bed./
Knowing that Jubilee was waiting for him prompted him to speed up the process, methodically washing his achy and occasionally bruised limbs while ever-mindful of the edges of his energy. His hair was more difficult to handle in that respect, the occasional droplet or splash landing in the calm blue flames, prompting a brief expression of discomfort each time. The fact that the shallow water was already starting to cool by the time he was done with that encouraged him to get out that much more, and Jono let the bath drain as he pushed himself up and out of it.
He dried himself off quickly and looped one towel around his waist, grabbing a second to rub at his hair as he pushed the door open and stepped back into the bedroom, finding Jubilee (and Ex) exactly where promised. Jono smiled absently, rubbing the towel against the back of his head and already looking infinitely more relaxed, if still exhausted. /S’long as there’s room for one more, y’can claim as much of my bed as yeh like./
Jubilee settled into bed, letting Ex figure out where he wanted to be before she opened her book. /Normally yes, right now I'm a conquistador./ she looked up from her book even though he wasn't in the room.
A couple chapters later he came back out in a towel looking clean, sleepy and much less tense than he had when she left. "I..." She started the sentence and immediately lost it to distraction.
"Yeah, plenty of room." She finally managed, scooting over and pulling back the sheets for whenever he was ready. She didn't watch as he got ready, instead turning her attention towards the fact that they were sharing a bed on a semi regular basis before going much further than kissing and wondering how weird that was supposed to be (probably very?) vs how how weird it actually was (not really at all?).
Those kinds of thoughts couldn’t have been further from Jono’s mind, except on the front of being far more concerned about getting into that bed with her in the first place. Too tired to put a whole lot of regard into modesty, he slipped on a pair of boxer-briefs per usual and tossed both towels in the vague direction of the bathroom, making a noise that could only be described as a mental yawn as he crossed to the bed, but hesitated before actually climbing in.
/If it’s okay with yeh,/ Jono started tentatively, though it wasn’t as if he actually expected Jubilee to take an issue with his request. /I’d like t’not bother with the bandages right now./
Watching him putter around getting ready for bed was one of the cutest things she'd ever seen. Again, she wondered how other people could be scared of him, though she figured they'd probably never seen him blinking himself awake in his underwear before.
"Then don't." She said, simple as that. "You probably shouldn't put them back on anyway." She looked pointedly at his side where the red marks from keeping them on for so long were still visible. She didn't question his reasons for keeping them on so long, she knew other people kept their distance when he wasn't wearing them, not to mention it being hella conspicuous. "C'mon, I was promised a nap."
Jono nodded sheepishly as he raised one arm and craned his neck to try and get a better look at the ridges he could feel along his side with his fingertips, making a face. He’d experimented with a number of different fabrics and constructions for housing his flames over the past few years but to his dismay, had yet to find anything that was quite as versatile as the bandaging.
/Coulda started without me./ Jono smiled and reached down to give Ex a generous scritch behind the ears before he shooed the cat back towards Jubilee, making himself some space to sit down on the bed and stretch out with a low groan. As soon as his head hit the pillow he nodded slowly, eyes sliding shut. /This. This is exactly what I wanted,/ he mumbled, his hand finding Jubilee’s to slip into and intertwine their fingers for a firm squeeze.
She made a dismissive noise. "Like that was gonna happen." She scooped Ex up and put him on the other side of his legs, knowing that otherwise he'd just try to go right back to Jono's spot and probably get squished in the process.
She laid down on her side and watched him settle in with a smirk. "Don't think I've ever seen a man so happy to see his pillow." She drawled, but squeezed his hand right back when he reached for her's.
"I..." She felt dumb repeating it but she felt like she needed to say it a thousand times. "I'm really glad you're home, Jonothon."
/Me, too,/ he murmured, turning his head enough that he could look at her out of the corners of his eyes, mindful of the proximity of his flames to the pillow under his head. Jono’s thumb brushed slowly back and forth against Jubilee’s and he looked at her quietly for a moment, his eyes eventually turning more curious.
/Were you really that worried?/ His voice was quiet even in her mind, the tone neither teasing nor admonishing; merely a question. /That somethin’ coulda happened to me?/
"I...yeah. I really was." She shrugged and gave his hand another squeeze. "Not, sit-in-the-highest-window-and-wait-for-your-return, kinda worried but... Yeah, I was worried, and I missed you."
She chewed her lip, thinking. "I never like it when people I care about go on a mission without me but with you it might be a little worse..." She thought back on the last couple missions he'd been pulled for, trying not to think about how long ago those were, "Has been for a while." A light blush rose in her cheeks, "I can't actually decide if it's better or worse now that you know..." She tried to weigh her options again, 'I never told him,' vs, 'but we only just started.'
She shook her head at her own nonsense. "It's not exactly a zero percent chance that one of us won't make it back someday..." Those were just the facts of the lives they led.
His eyebrows raised slightly when she mentioned it’d been a while, but Jono opted not to comment on that in light of Jubilee’s last thought instead. His hand gave hers a careful squeeze as he barely shook his head, and as much as he wanted to argue the point they both knew it’d be in vain.
/S’not goin’ to get any easier,/ the pessimist in Jono had to figure, shifting to bring his other arm up under his pillow, his eyes turning towards the ceiling again. /But… there’s a ‘undred percent chance I’ll blast the arse outta anythin’ that tries to keep us apart./
"Funny." She said, "I was thinking it would get easier the more it came up. Or that we'd get better at dealing with it." She cocked her head, running through scenarios in her mind. "Maybe not though. Guess we'll have to wait and see."
His rebuttal startled a laugh out of her. "That's a much better plan. Plays to our strengths. 'Cause you know I'd do the same." She promised.
She suddenly remembered something. "Ummm. Can I see your phone for a second?" She figured he hadn't checked it since he got back and hoped he'd hand it to her without looking at the texts she'd sent him.
Jono pretty obviously had more thoughts on the matter, but seeing as none of them were terribly positive, he figured he'd save them for some other time when they weren't so happily reunited. Sometimes they were next to crippling, the thoughts Jono had about what they could become to each other only to have one of them die in the field, just like that. In an instant. The reminder was enough that his hand briefly tightened in Jubilee's, but the sound of her voice brought him back.
/Eh? ... my phone?/ Jono screwed up his face in a mixture of confusion and inconvenience, but he glanced over and stretched one arm towards his desk, managing to snag his phone and bring it around to offer her. /Haven't even turned it on yet. Whatcha need it for?/
She knew that look in his eyes, he was going someplace dark in his head and she was having none of it. All you get for stressing about things you can't change is misery now and later. She squeezed his hand back even harder and changed the subject.
"I uh...might have texted you one night when you were away."
/... oh, really?/ The confusion in Jono’s eyes changed to something closer to mischief and intrigue, hitting the power button on his phone and moving it out of Jubilee’s reach again. It wasn’t a concerted effort, considering how tired he was, but he turned his head to look over at her in amusement. /Now I’m curious./
"Jono..." She threatened. "Give me the phone." She reached for it and he moved it away. "Get your stupid long arm back over here and gimme the phone." She wasn't really ashamed of the texts she'd sent, so she was smiling even as she waved her arm after the phone, finally rolling her eyes and flopping back, knowing the teasing was inevitable.
Jono couldn’t help but laugh at the ‘stupid long arm’ comment, which only encouraged him to stretch it to its full potential in keeping the phone out of her reach. If Jubilee had fought harder or seemed more embarrassed he might’ve taken some pity on her, but when she gave up after a moment with nothing more than an eyeroll, he smiled and tapped the notification that popped up (amongst others) that bore her name.
/’Ow bad could they be?/ He figured, still smiling as he glanced at Jubilee and gave her one more chance to protest.
She gave a shrug, not really knowing how embarrassed she should be. She didn't say anything she wouldn't have before they started this (dating?!?), but there was an added layer of meaning now. Or...both parties were aware of the full meaning. "Not too bad...I don't think." She considered making another grab for the phone but decided against it.
"Just get it over with." She said, feeling her face heat. She still wasn't sure why she'd done it. She knew his phone was still in his room and that there was no way he'd get the messages while he was away, but somehow it made her feel better. She waved at him to get on with it.
He couldn’t help but notice her blush, though it didn’t do anything except endear her that much more to him -- not that Jono really thought it was possible, at this point. He gently worked an arm under Jubilee’s shoulders to draw her carefully closer against his side, ever mindful of his energy but wanting to keep her close.
His thumb scrolled through the messages she’d left him, and something about the fact that she’d sent them when she knew Jono wouldn’t even get them until he was back was oddly comforting. Maybe it was the idea that she kept sending them because she trusted well enough that he’d return soon enough to read them.
He wasn’t even disappointed that they weren’t as embarrassing as they could’ve been, and once he set his phone aside again and shut off the lamp beside his bed, Jono inclined his head until he could nuzzle his temple against Jubilee’s -- about the safest show of affection he could manage, other than another squeeze to her shoulders. /... thanks, luv. For thinkin’ of me./
She gave a contented sigh as he pulled her in, curling against him and relishing the warmth. She edged a leg over one of his and a hand across his stomach below the flames. The close proximity made the hair on her arm stand on end, but it wasn't an unpleasant feeling in the slightest. It actually reminded her of the feeling just before she made a plasmoid form, almost like static.
She watched him scroll through the messages and saw his eyes go from gleeful to something softer. He set the phone aside and turned the light off, leaving the room lit in the cool blue glow of his flames. He leaned in and she returned the nuzzle, glad to have him close again.
"It's kinda hard not to." She said, earnest and shy. "But you're welcome. Thank you for bringing yourself back in one piece."
/Or at least no more broken than I left,/ he countered with some gently amused self-deprecation, one hand giving her shoulder an affectionate squeeze as the other covered where hers was settled against his stomach. Jono was quiet for a moment, seeming to mull over whether or not to say something before he shrugged faintly and apparently decided to.
/I’ll always come back to yeh./ His tone was quiet but firm, and reassuring. /Tha’ was true before. But even moreso now. Alright?/
She jabbed a finger into his stomach in retaliation for making fun of himself but didn't say anything against it. She just took the squeeze and curled a little closer into him, mindful of the flames even as she burrowed into his shoulder.
"Yeah?" She asked, not so much question as processing.
That felt big. Scary big, but also amazing? Like seeing a present under the tree with your name on it that's the exact size and shape of the only thing you really wanted. She was almost too scared to take it, but almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
"Yeah. Alright." She leaned up a little, arching to avoid the flames so she could brush her lips over his temple. "Ditto, Sparky. T'all of it." She gave him a little smile as she moved back to cuddle against him.
Being a mutant and an optimist were almost a contradiction of terms but somehow she'd managed to keep seeing silver linings in the clouds despite years of reality trying to dull the shine. And Jono, well, he's one of the most stubborn people she knows, so if any two people are going to be able to take what the world throws at them, it's her and Jono.
