7. Is there anything I used to like but can’t stand now?

TWD as a whole

Man, I loved TWD. I was so invested on that show, on those characters. When Lori died and Carl had to shoot her? Man, that fucked me up. When the Governor killed Hershel in front of Maggie and Beth? U G H. The second half of S4 when they’re all divided into groups and find each other in Terminus? Talk about relief. Daryl and Beth? THE FEELS, NONNY. THE FEEEEEEELS. When they reach Alexandria, after being through hell? Again, talk about relief. Like I said, I was super invested on the show. But from S6 onwards, it just went downhill. Somewhere during S8 I stopped watching because I didn’t see the point in watching a badly written show that was way past its prime when I could be doing other things, things that brought me some kind of joy. I didn’t even watch when Carl got bit and died. That’s when the show jumped the shark, IMO. Then losing Rick and Maggie? Nah. I’ll stick to the comics.

When I was a part of the TWD fandom, I was a huge believer in the “Beth survived the gunshot” theory (AKA Team Delusional/Defiance - I still see you, fam!). I read a lot of metas, I even wrote some of my own in my old blog. But seeing how all those very specific clues were there but there was no real resolution... IDK. I didn’t give up per se; I like to think she’s out there kicking walker ass with a crossbow, looking like a total badass with those scars. But far away from the Atlanta group, since the show (as far as S8) was a complete mess.

I never felt so cheated in my life as I did with TWD (that is until GOT S8, lmao)

11. Is there an unpopular character you like love that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

Sansa Stark and Beth Greene

They’re both hated because the fandom thinks them weak. They’re both hated because they think them useless. They’re either too dumb and girly or too bossy. They’re either reliant on other people (which makes them a liability) or they’re suddenly too strong for their own good. They either cry too much or they’re stoic. They’re either stupid for believing or they’re stupid for not having hope. They’re either too weak or not strong enough. They stand up to the male fave and call them on their bullshit, but ofc nobody can do that, especially stupid girls like Sansa and Beth.

At least one of them got a happy(ish) ending.

I gravitate towards those type of characters. The ones that fandom likes to shit on just for existing. So I claim them as my faves and swear to protect them. I guess it’s in my nature.

16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?

The two last seasons of GOT

Apart from the writing, which I think we can all agree that is the one thing that needs changing the most, I’d make them a 10-episode season each. Have more time to properly develop the story without rushing it.

But if we’re talking about the writing exclusively:

Season 7

The Winterhell plot. Don’t show Littlefinger do The Creep™ around Winterfell. The plot is about the Starklings working together, so let’s show that. Let the audience know that Littlefinger is fucking clueless about what’s coming for him.

The Dany-Cersei war. Give Cersei more to do than just drink wine and look at KL from her window. She’s Tywin’s daughter, FFS. Show her scheming and double-crossing people. Have Lannister forces take Dragonstone the minute Daenerys heads north.

Bran. Let him have emotions, y’know, since he’s still a person. Show the conflict of having to live with the world’s past in your mind while still being a young man that defends his family fiercely.

Show Jon to be a player, be manipulative, in other words, make Pol!Jon a lil bit more obvious, for the people in the back. Also, give him his POV.

Make Dany feel more torn about the political conflict and the supernatural conflict, and not make it a line in the final episode of the season.

Season 8

Again, give Jon his POV.

Make RLJ about Jon, not Daenerys.

Show how RLJ changes different dynamics, not just J/onerys.

Show Sansa bonding with someone, anyone (her sister, Theon, Jon, Gilly) instead of her talking to the Hound about her abuse.

Have the Battle of Winterfell have more emotional impact.

Jon doesn’t ride Rhaegal.

Show the reactions of Arya and Sansa to RLJ.

Show the Starklings doing something else than fight.

Again, give Cersei more to do than just drink wine and look out of her window. Definitely don’t make her sleep with Euron.

Mention the burning of the food and the Tarlys.

People (Varys, Tyrion, Cersei) find out about what happened to Littlefinger.

Show that the North as a whole has legitimate reasons not to want Daenerys as their Queen.

Show Dany sharing some moments with Missandei and Greyworm, not just Jon.

Not kill Missandei (especially like that).

Have Arya use her faceless man abilities.

Let people (by people I mean northern lords and the like) find out about RLJ.

Have Dany and co. flee Winterfell in anger after people find out about RLJ.

Have Dany burn both Tyrion and Varys.

Cersei-Sansa reunion.

Sansa tries to raise her banners (and the Vale’s and the Riverland’s) against both Cersei and Daenerys.

Euron dies after killing Rhaegal.

Bran tells Jon about what Dany might do in KL, so Jon leaves to find her in time.

Jon finds Dany but she imprisons him under the charge of high treason.

Ep 5 plays out exactly the same, only that Missandei witnesses it all and from then on questions her loyalty towards Dany.

The massacre of KL is bigger. There’s a lot more losses.

Have Arya kill Dany instead of Jon.

Dragonpit meeting in which the lords and ladies of the different kingdoms declare the 7K to be independent again, the way they were before Aegon’s conquest.

Jon is liberated by the northern forces with the help of Missandei.

Missandei goes back to Naath, trying to find peace after seeing so much bloodshed and thirst for power.

The Starks go back to Winterfell. Sansa is named QITN as the oldest legitimate daughter of Eddard and Catelyn Stark. Jon and Bran are her closest advisors. Arya decides to go west of Westeros.

+ THE STORY SO FAR +

Love is a funny little thing. For the majority of Lily Evans’ young life, she felt as though she had love completely figured out. Her mother and father loved each other desperately. Their feelings for one another were so consuming, their children often felt as though there wasn’t any left over to spare for them. So Lily took the responsibility of loving Petunia Evans in the ways their parents could not. She didn’t mind that her gentle kindness was met with jealous hostility. And when she met Severus Snape, it was much the same process. She knew that love wasn’t simple or easy or kind. Her experience of it, and what led her to believe in it the way she did, was gray, bleak, and painful. Lily thought loving someone meant you needed them, couldn’t breathe without them. Neither Petunia nor Severus seemed to be able to properly function without her, so they must love her deeply.

And then they both broke her heart. Petunia cut her off in her fifth year. She went off to college and met an incriminatory boring man who clearly didn’t love her, but found use in her. Severus found cronies that liked to play with dark magic and hated her. He chose them in the end, and Lily chose herself. It wasn’t until halfway through her sixth year that she discovered she might have a defunct view of love. She watched the people around her show it in various ways, none of them as painful as her experience had been - though some extremely close and no less dumbfounding. The way the Marauder’s loved each other was fierce and loyal. They way each one of them loved other people in their lives was varying. Sirius with sarcastic skepticism. Peter with veiled admiration. Remus with fear. Marlene with uncertainty. Mary with open admiration and sweetness.

James Potter, someone Lily had always seen as a nuisance, with unwavering trust and unconditional loyalty. James Potter didn’t need anyone. He already had his every desire handed to him. The people he chose to keep around were those he wanted by his side. Yet, he treated them as if they were all individually viable and loved. It baffled Lily. And when he turned that love on her, it was a fire she never knew she had been missing out on. He taught her how to love and be loved for real and though it ruined her, in it she found a gratitude that would last a lifetime.

Lily had been in South Africa when the familiar face of her old professor appeared, likely out of thin air, in the small seaside village of Kalk Bay near the Cape of Good Hope. For months, she had been traveling, searching for nothing but culture and the opportunity to continue learning. Wizarding villages around the world were fascinating and if Dumbledore hadn’t informed her of the state of things back home, she may not have ever stopped going. She had a duty to her country, herself, and people like her to tend to. “I’ll be there,” she told him, a familiar defiance known to her returning as if it had never left.

In a way, he showed her how to love herself the way she deserved. He had given her a beautiful year and a half. In that time, she discovered things she hadn’t known could be possible; about herself, about love, about the boy who had very quickly become a man before her eyes. When they graduated, they fell blissfully into something domestic. She would paint or read or study, and he would fly, train, each of them doing any number of things to fill the day. Neither wanted to work for the ministry and he had plenty of money to get by on doing his own thing through the days. She worked at a bookstore to stay busy but very quickly, Lily grew restless. She had been preparing to tell him. James, I want to run away. At the time, it hadn’t meant anything more than that. She craved new horizons and colorful places. She couldn’t grow old in the same spot her entire life. She wasn’t a girl who was made for ordinary things. They could go places, see and do incredible things - together. But then he proposed the very second she had been prepping to spill her hearts desires to him, and her answer was swift. She hadn’t even thought it through the way she would’ve liked to. “No.” She gasped, surprising herself. “I’m so sorry.” There had been sudden and unsuppressed tears streaming down her cheeks as she took one of his hands and pressed a kiss to his knuckles. He look dumbfounded, unable to move and Lily felt her heart break for the third time in her life in an incredibly different way than before. This one was so much worse than the others. This one was her own fault. She apparated then, back to his house and hurriedly packed up all of her belongings. She would be gone before he would return, a note in her absence with another lame apology upon it. She needed to explain everything to him, but somehow she couldn’t. So instead, she traveled. She pushed the hurt deep down into her stomach and shoved herself fully into her travels. She knows he will be there. He cares too much not to be, and if Lily weren’t equally as passionate, she might have turned Dumbledore down. She couldn’t, though. This was bigger than the both of them. Nevertheless, she fears seeing him again after so long with zero contact.

In their sixth year, Lily took notice of a budding friendship between Remus Lupin and Marlene McKinnon. She was taken back to a time in their first and second years when Marlene had been a common face around Severus. Lily and Marlene were similar in their mindsets; both ambitious and stubborn. Severus was perhaps the only Slytherin Marlene seemed to be honest with and Lily liked her company. But then Marlene stopped coming around. Lily noticed a change in her, felt her retreating into herself. At the start of their third year, Marlene was different. She seemed to go from an outspoken Scot with six brothers to a doll made of thick porcelain over the summer. Lily inquired about this to Severus and he just shrugged and said she hadn’t really been in their circle anyway. Lily tried a few times to break through Marlene’s icy exterior, but in the end she supposed Severus was right. Years later, she realized how wrong this had been. Remus spoke so highly of her when Lily approached him about it, she thought it couldn’t be that Marlene had felt too good for them. She was always alone, but the sudden and steady presence of Remus around her seemed to bring a forgotten light to the Slytherin’s blue-green eyes. Lily started approaching her, Marlene cautiously opening up to her old friend once again. Halfway through their sixth year, something happened between Remus and Marlene that Lily couldn’t place, but their friendship ended abruptly. Marlene retreated in a way that was very familiar to Lily. She tried, but Marlene was falling deeper and deeper into the pit of her own mind. Lily recognized that there was nothing she could do. It had been nearly three in the morning when Dorcas contacted her, an anxious owl tapping away at her window. The attached scroll explained the situation, that Dorcas had found Marlene in the girls bathroom on the third floor, her lips blue, her skin boiling hot to the touch. Lily, not really knowing what to do but knowing that there was likely only one other person aside from herself that would want to know of this for reasons other than gossip, woke Remus. Together, they ran to the hospital wing. When Marlene was pulled from school, Lily sent her an owl - an apology, and a promise to be there if ever Marlene needed her.

Mary hadn’t been someone Lily knew on an incredibly personal level. They were in different houses, had different friends. They shared a potions table every now and then, but ultimately they were strangers. Lily noticed her, though. Some time in their fifth year, Lily realized she was seeing Mary infinitely more often than she had been before. When it started, it barely crossed her mind. As it grew, however, Lily pinpointed something undeniable. Mary was seeing Adrion Mulciber. Hand-in-hand, Lily would watch them sneak off together. She could never make out Mulcibers face, but the pink in Mary’s cheeks would’ve been visible from miles away. It set something uncomfortable in Lily’s gut. She knew Mulciber well. He was one of the many people that disapproved of her relationship with Severus. He pushed to get her to disappear, filling his head with nonsense about her worthiness. Severus never openly said this, but Lily could feel the shift in their relationship as it happened. Mulciber was manipulative in the worst way. He was cocky and devious. It baffled her that he could hate one muggleborn and be openly cavorting with another. It didn’t make sense to Lily until, almost in an instant, it became perfectly clear. Mary started disappearing, her subtle absences followed by a dazed look on her face any time Mulciber was near her. Lily was ashamed to admit that she knew what was happening before Mary had gotten hurt, and she wished she had been able to do something about it before it was too late. She told herself that Mary wouldn’t have listened, being that Lily’s friendship with Severus had ended and she had no reason to speak to Mary at all anymore. It wasn’t for lack of trying. After the incident in sixth year with the post office, Lily started approaching Mary. Typically flanked by a protective-looking Dorcas Meadowes, it was a cautious and surface-level friendship at first. Over time, however, the two girls let her in and Lily, for the first time in perhaps her whole life, had a friendship that was sweet, loyal, and - most importantly to her - real.

Lily will always remember Alice Fortescue. She had aspired to be her when they were in school. Head girl, liked by most everyone, liberal head on her shoulders, powerful. They were running the same track, Lily simply came up a few years behind. This was for everyone’s benefit, of course. They never had to compete with each other. Unbeknownst to anyone else, hearing of her engagement and subsequent marriage to Frank Longbottom sent sparks of rage through Lily that she might never admit out loud. How could someone be so content with their life that truly hadn’t changed much since the day of her birth? Lily, being full of unrest herself, couldn’t comprehend what such peace of mind felt like. She would have loved to be content marrying James when he asked, but the idea of slipping into that Suzy Homemaker lifestyle made her head spin so swiftly she thought she might hurl or fly off into some prayed-for unknown. She doesn’t understand how Alice likes that, thrives within it even, but a part of her longs to. She craves to pick the other girls brain, maybe try to figure out how to want something everyone seems to think is suited for you.

Type of Power~

Hemokinetics: they can control their own blood and any they touch. Usually, they form stake-like weapons since they're the easiest to make though they can make sharp edged weapons as well. Anything complex takes more energy and focus. They can only lose so much before they pass out from blood loss though they can absorb other people’s blood. Sommy can also sense injuries and illness in others and track people. They can also warm and cool their body temperature which allows their emo ass to wear their trenchcoat in the middle of summer.

Healing Factor: they heal faster than a normal human, but not at Deadpool or Wolverine levels. A cut or scrape takes anywhere from a minute or two to an hour or two to heal, bigger wounds take maybe a couple days. Cracked bones take about a day and broken bones can take up to a week depending. The problem with their healing is they can heal wrong very easily, like shattered bones can cause bone fragments to get lodged in muscle or joints which cause a lot of pain and they’re really hard to get out, bones can heal crooked which means Sommy has to re break them. When they were younger, they healed by producing a lot of scar tissue which is why old injuries still affect them/get stiff and stuff. They assume they got some bad internal injuries when they were a kid because they just get stabbing pains or they cough up blood. They know they can’t die from this but it scares the fuck out of Void. Sommy also can’t really have surgery or anything unless they counteract their healing ability, which they can do but since they still have old internal injuries they get pretty fucked up from that. They’re immune to blood borne illnesses but they can still get colds, the flu, stuff like that, they just recover faster. If they get too injured and don’t have enough energy to heal, their body starts to eat away at itself, if it gets too bad they go into a coma like state.

Other: They’re immune to mental manipulation from other anomalies, often the result is the feeling like someone is scraping at their brain. It’s not unbearable just uncomfortable and annoying. This goes for all anomalies.

Flaws~ they have to keep account of how much blood they've lost or else they will Die™, their healing factor will fuck them up if they’re not careful Accuracy~ relatively accurate? Control~ they're really good at the crude stakes and blades but anything too complex is difficult even if they're not fighting, though they get better with practice, they’re working on a claw thing

Since her father was killed due to her mother’s inability to pay back her debt owed to Loorka, and her mother was in debt because of her drug addiction, Rinnah tends to blame the substance and anyone related to it. However, they both kind of have to get along because Sommy is best friends with Rinnah’s brother and Rinnah is dating Sommy's sister.

Cypher Nox. Sommy has a weird feeling around him, like someone’s scratching the back of their brain every time he talks, also they can't shake the feeling that he looks really familiar. Despite this they both get along well enough, often bonding over traumatic childhoods which Cypher is really cryptic about.

Viper Anguis. Sommy deemed Viper the “coolest” of the group. They often join him and Cypher for a drink. They also like to spar with him because he's a skilled hand to hand fighter due to his experience in an underground fight club.

Adelaide had made Sommy her project and spent her time gaslighting and manipulating them into what she wanted.

Needlehands. He's a back alley monster doctor who does as much experimentation on his patients as he does actually fixing them. After his creator died, Needlehands tried to continue his work. He met Sommy when they were bleeding out from, what looked like, a half decapitation. He was amazed how they were still alive and patched them up. After finding out about their abilities, he just wanted to study them further. Needlehands made a deal with Sommy, he'd fix them up and help them out and they would let him look into what actually happened to them in regards to their abilities. After a while, Needlehands began to get really protective over them so now Sommy has a monster dad. He also helps Sommy research Endigo, its effects and a way to counter it.

Lewis “Trace” Harvey. He's a mediocre hacker employed by Adelaide. Sommy started blackmailing him to get him to do things for them. He's a disrespectful, insensitive asshole but Sommy has to put up with him if they want anything techy. However, after they meet Azzy they planned on killing Trace to make sure he didn't spill any info on them. Lucky for him, Void stepped in to watch him which they later regret.

Hydrea “Drea” Vannie. She is obsessed with Sommy, constantly trying to be their girlfriend. Too bad for her, Sommy absolutely despises her. They would love to kill her but Drea’s dad is a high ranking politician and she's also employed by Adelaide. Sommy assumes she was hired just to annoy them as Adelaide has said she finds her “very amusing”.

They were out with their sister at the time. They always suspected there was more to it than that though. A lot of evidence just didn't add up. Infuriated by everything getting swept under the rug, Sommy ran away hoping to find out the truth. AdultHood~ After killing the man who was directly responsible for their parents' death, Sommy realized that they couldn't go back home to Ophelia like this. They viewed themself as a horrible person and was at a loss of what to do with their life. They felt like they didn’t deserve their adopted family’s love so they started using the Childs name again. Spiraling down, they started taking jobs as bodyguards for low lives and then that escalated to doing hit jobs. During that time, they made friends with a monster of a back alley doctor nicknamed Needlehands who did just as much experimentation on people as he did actually patching them up. Obviously, Sommy raised him up to be their father figure. They also fell into business with a woman named Adelaide Creed. She ran an empire on the backs of criminals, getting her hands on anything she could use to further her power and wealth. As more of a personal project, she warped Sommy's sense of purpose and self-image and gaslighted them until they couldn't remember the person they used to be. She wanted Sommy to be her successor, especially after finding out about their abilities. Eventually managing to snap out of the bloody haze they had been in for seemingly years, Sommy realized how much of a monster Adelaide really was. They decided they needed to tear her down from the inside. It was around this time that Sommy started to notice vague reports about kids with strange abilities. Realizing there were more people like themself, Sommy started looking for answers, eventually realizing it was their parent’s drug that was causing the anomalies. They took it upon themself to help these kids and keep them out of the government’s, or anyone’s radar. By blackmailing a chemist with reports of him falsifying results causing children's deaths, Sommy managed to get a sort of reverse version of Endigo that nullified abilities for a short while. They still had all their parents research that they had stolen years ago. Sommy killed the chemist after he gave them instructions on how to make the stuff. They then set out to help as many kids as they could because if they weren’t gonna do it who was? They also saw it as fallout from their parents, which fell on them to clean up.

OldHood~ Sommy continues to deal with the anomalies even after they outlive everyone they had known. Due to their healing ability, they can’t really die and just focus on moving forward and doing what they can.

I’m trying to get an honest gauge free of emotions on this game and have been for about a week. I think the perception of Miami around the country is a scrappy team getting it done with smoke and mirrors but I think it’s more accurate to say that QB is often their least valuable player on the field and that they are outrageously stacked in their receiving corps and along the defensive line. Notre Dame should be able to run on Miami in spite of the front four because the second level has been messy for the Hurricanes. Front four and back four are fine but the three guys in the middle sometimes look like herding cats. Notre Dame’s offensive line is great and their running game has been crazy but they’re pass offense is suspect and they do give up explosive plays on defense. Miami makes a lot of big plays on offense. This is a lot closer than a lot of people realize and I won’t exactly be surprised if Miami bum rushes the Irish in the early going.

(6) TCU at (5) Oklahoma 8:00 pm FOX

Does it undercut the moment for this game that there’s a really strong chance that these same two teams play each other in the inaugural Big XII Title Game? I’m always rooting for the worst outcome for this shit conference and I think that’s a TCU win.
