I just . Repeating "characters are tools" you end up erasing so much about arashi's character and motivations and interactions with other characters if you avoid using her pronouns aka avoid showing she's transgender. It's on the same level of frustration with the translators i had when i saw they had Mika speaking standard English, there's a LOT that gets lost if you don't show those little things.
#and sure maybe some things wouldn't matter bc - i don't read many knights stories so beyond what's mentioned ab arashi in stories i've read#like those featuring mika and such#so i can't say for her but i can say for mika - because a lot of it is touched upon in ! which isn't getting translated#mika talks about his accent and dialect and such the most in ! HOWEVER#you still have idol story 3 where he talks with Tsumugi about how people perceive him because of his accent and#about how he feels like he's letting people down by not conforming to the positive stereotypes associated with his speech#and if you make him speak the standard language you completely lose that layer#if you erase the fact that Arashi is transgender you completely lose that layer of her characterisation and motivations#she literally has a story in !! where she talks about how much it hurts her to always be cast as the male character#in princess-knight themed shoots when all she wants to be is the princess#but how are you gonna get the full context of that if the story refuses to give you the context you had in the original#ie. that Arashi uses the (hyper)feminine ''atashi'' pronoun and that her speech pattern is one associated with young women#in ! she has a line where she asks i believe koga to not use the slur used for effeminate/gay men for her#because her name is arashi narukami and if anything she wants to be called arashi-chan or naruko#which is also additional context lost if you don't translate it right - the -ko suffix in a name is traditionally feminine#i'm no expert either but i'm a writer and i plan on working as a translator#and these are things that - if lost in translation - will impact your understanding of the entire story and/or character#whether it will have you completely misunderstanding it or just being confused is irrelevant but it's like#in my opinion as a translator it's your duty to translate even the subtext#if you need to show that arashi is transgender you don't need to say it (even tho#she did once say ''i will never be the woman i want to be'' iirc and#i do have recollection of mika telling her ''i don't really get it but you're a girl right?'')#but you should give us the same chance to come to the same conclusions which is to say. translate naruko to the best of your abilities.#idfk Nary maybe ? i feel like the -y ending is usually diminutive rather than feminine but.#something to that tune. and give her a girly speech pattern. it exists in english too.#slang can be associated with gender too#like you guys get it right.

Wish Rewrite
A long time ago, people would make wishes to the stars. Those pure of hearts, those who wished with all their might, got their wish granted one way or another. The wishings stars were the brightest in the sky, their magic great and powerful, above all, pure.
Sadly one day,the wishing stars disappeared. People felt sad and distraught at the stars’ absence. It was then that someone stepped up,Magnífico. He showed he possessed magic, something that amazed those around him,he said he learned the magic of granting wishes, and thus helped the people.
It's been a century since wishing stars disappeared. But with King Magnífico and his wife Queen Amaya, the now Kingdom of Rosas flourishes and lives in peace,as once a year a lucky citizen shall be chosen to be granted one wish. Only one.
We start our story with Asha. Asha is a girl from Rosas, her beloved home (insert introductory song around here). She’s turning 18-years-old and ever since she was a little girl she knew exactly what she wanted to wish for,to learn the magic of wishes to help out her fellow townspeople. She’s excited as she has big dreams of all she could do once obtaining the magic King Magnifico and Queen Amaya possess, and she is very eager to learn. She’s been told to wish for something else,as she only has one wish, but she declines every time, determined to help out her town however she can.
As the Festival of Wishes starts,Asha watches in awe as the lucky citizen is chosen. A young man who wishes to be a knight, and he has it granted. While slightly disappointed she wasn’t chosen,Asha decides that maybe she could convince Magnifico to take her under his wing anyway. She’s declined,no matter how much she explains, she’s told no. Until, for a moment, the King snaps at her that only him and his wife have any right to use this magic. Asha looks in surprise and fear as she never thought the King could get this angry…
He quickly composes himself, apologizes, says it is simply a very ancient thing not everyone can learn… And asks her to leave. Queen Amaya herself escorts Asha out, echoing her husband’s explanation as she then waves Asha goodbye.
Of course,Asha feels something isn’t adding up. Late at night she walks outside of the kingdom, running towards a hill and climbing a tree all the way up (insert obligatory princess I Want song here) it is then that she sees a star brighter than the rest. Could it be? Is it what she's gotten described before? She’s never seen one though… Doesn’t hurt to give it a shot, right? Asha closes her eyes, and starts to hum (When You Wish Upon a Star) and then she makes her wish: “I want to help”
A golden light shoots from up in the sky, landing right where Asha is,startling her and confusing her. And this is how we meet Star. Star is ecstatic, not reading the room at all, talking to himself about how he can’t believe that after a whole century someone finally finally made a wish to a star again. He presents himself to Asha, saying that stars usually don’t do this kind of thing but he was way too excited to not meet the one person who made a wish after being ignored and feeling lonely for so long.
Asha is of course confused, and even a little scared. Star notices her discomfort and reassures her it is all fine,he is a wishing star after all,and he’ll be damned if he doesn’t grant her wish (insert wishing star’s theme song here) with a little magic show he explains how wishes work,Asha mentions in passing how she thought the stars were gone and that’s why the King and Queen learned the magic of wishes,Star laughs incredulous saying how humans only possess wishes as stars are the only beings with magic powerful enough to grant them,he mentions back how he’s the only star left as one day the other stars he knew pretty much vanished out of nowhere.
… The dots start to slowly connect.
Meanwhile the magic show and the whole coming down from the sky itself thing isn’t missed by Magnifico and Amaya. They know what it is,there’s a wishing star left… They cannot afford that. They must obtain that star and not let anyone know about it,or else what they’ve worked so hard to obtain will slip like sand right through their fingers. Turns out,the King and Queen are much older than people believe, having stolen the wishing stars from the sky and the first thing they did once they figured out how to obtain the magic was wish for eternal youth, since then they’ve been draining the magic from stars to have control over the wishes. With a star still out there, the whole plan is at risk.
Here we got various shenanigans. As Star doesn’t have much of an idea on how to act human, and Asha begins to worry as she can notice quickly Star is in danger. Among their shenanigans their relationship starts to build, and chemistry begins to form slowly but surely. Reaching the point of caring about one another genuinely, paralleled with the King and Queen growing desperate to aid each other to not lose their power. (insert both love song duet and villain song around here, maybe one after the other for impact).
In the end they get their hands on Asha, threatening her. Star offers himself in exchange of letting Asha go,something Magnifico and Amaya do since they believe Asha to be powerless once they have the last wishing star in their grasp. Possibly, just for extra dramatics, they drain his magic right in front of Asha just to hurt her, meanwhile Star tells her to please go away and forget about him.
Of course that can’t be all. She tells the townspeople what’s going on. She successfully convinces them to see the truth of what the King and Queen have been truly going, and so it starts a revolution to free the wishing stars (insert another song here of course). Details are slightly blurry, but the basics are that Asha reunites with a weakened, one could say almost dying,Star. The pureness of her heart as she kisses him returning his strength, and the genuine desire to help slowly revitalizing all the other trapped wishing stars,Magnifico and Amaya losing their power, and then inevitably receive consequences for their actions.
The stars go back to the sky,all minus one,Star. Asha tells him his place is up there, granting wishes to those who have earned it. He responds that he has a wish of his own,and that is to be with her, asking her if she’d grant it to him. Of course,Asha says yes.
We could say Asha is a princess as now she’s magical in a sense and well the Kingdom of Rosas needs a ruler I suppose.
And that is my Wish rewrite. It isn’t perfect I know, and you can tell how I have some details less figured out than others, but I feel like this concept really could’ve worked, especially what we’ve seen done in the artworks. I grew up with Disney and I simply believe their 100th Anniversary deserved so much better, and well, this rewrite will be all I have as I’ll imagine scenarios of my own with this movie. Especially Asha and Star as a couple, really can’t believe they refused to go back to the romance aspect at least once…
#Like I said#Far from perfect#Maybe even my rewrite could do some changes#But I needed to get it out of my system#wish 2023#disney wish#wish disney#wish rewrite#disney wish rewrite#wish 2023 rewrite#rewrite#disney 100

5 and 13 for nova stella :D
HIII MY FRIEND IM GOING TO HAVE TO PUT THIS UNDER A CUT AGAIN BC I TYPED SO MUCH <3 BUT TY FOR THE ASK YAAY
5.) pick a theme song for the tv adaptation.
Oh picking just one song is SO hard. Dare I rip off Assassination Classroom and say I like to picture Polaris walking to the tune of Hello Shooting Star by Moumoon as she meets the other characters on her journey? hehe
13.) how long have you been working on this project? what has changed from the outset?
I would say… Around January 2021? That’s when I posted my first drawing of Polaris! And actually the drawing itself has been slightly updated now! Nothing major, just cleaning up some details, adding a few things to better reflect her character now that it’s more figured out and all. Like, now she has a compass on her side and the nautic star symbol on her collar, and her hairclip is a snowflake! Her bow has also been moved lower down her braid. She’s also less thin, to have a more different body type than Bella.
Other characters have gone through some design changes like that too! Some are actually fairly character relevant (like Saiph getting the sleeves and spike cuffs around his wrists) while some are just more practical (Going to have to connected Felis’s cat ears to where her human ears are. Or would be. So she wouldn’t have four sets of ears LOL. Same goes for some other characters).
And as for story changes, I think I went through a few different concepts for what exactly it would be before I settled on a guild. Stuff like Polaris adventuring the world solo (Which she still does pre-story), or becoming somekind of knight, idk! Throwing ideas around! That’s why despite not being super relevant, the zodiac knights were characters I drew before the rest of the main guild! (I think some of them need a bit of a re-vamp too).
There were also different archetypes I played around with before settling on what would be the main group! Like for example, at first I wanted Andy to be a main character who was sort of a runaway princess. But I felt like that added a layer of complication I didn’t need. She was actually going to be more like how Bella is now lol. They have similar name themes in a way, with “Ruler of men” (Andromeda) and “Female warrior” (Bellatrix).
The other Nova Stella characters fell into place sort of naturally, I think. I liked to just come up with concepts and see how they’d fit in. And as I added new characters, dynamics changed, which made character’s change! Barnard was always going to be the nerdy smart dude of the guild, but once I added Juno (Who was the last character created for the main guild!) he now had a buddy, which I got to make an entire backstory for that totally added to both characters. Both the pre-existing Barnard and the newly-made Juno lol. Or, like, Lacerta for example was sort of just the Mean Girl at first, but adding a bit of a more complex dynamic with her and Mira (ex. “She’s too nice and I don’t like it/trust it” type thing that makes Lacerta lash out, partly out of insecurity, while Mira continues to be herself which pisses her off more) I think added more to her beyond that too. Like, actual insecurities about being.. The Way She Is. AND ALSO speaking of Mira, really her entire dynamic with Felis and Saiph is a whooole thing that I figured out later on. Boy these three sure can fit a lot of self-destruction and death themes into them!
As for the other guilds, as soon as I had a concept for them the archetypes sort of fell into place, since, like I said, they tended to be a bit more gimmicky. Not all of them, I had some trouble parsing what I’d do with Pluto’s guild (Tartarus) for a bit!
Eventually I figured… Wouldn’t it be fun to kind of full circle things? Like, okay. The event that really kicks everything off is Polaris meeting Saiph. They meet because Polaris was kind of getting mugged by two Tartarus members, and Saiph steps in to help and kind of fucks it up so now they have to work together… It’s a whole thing! Anyway the epiphany I had the other night was, what if post-timeskip they meet again for the first time in a while because Saiph is getting mugged by THE SAME TWO ASSHOLES and Polaris has to step in to save him lol. (But the reason she was there is a bit different this time!)
Anyway thank Dumb and Dumber for being responsible for the whole story happening. Twice. They’ll be drawn w the rest of the Tartarus guild when it’s time ^_^

Comedy of Errors
An: For those new here, Araashita is my Oc from my sagau story called 'God is overworked, underpaid, and touch starved. Triple threat!'. So anyway, we have more Araashita back story now lol. Also featuring some of my other Ocs who are in this world and connected to Araashita but don't need screen time for the story. I was pretty sure I just wanted to write about his connections to the characters in Genshin but then it kind of escalated. I'd love to hear your thoughts and theories on him
Tw: yandere themes, Araashita is traumatized, delusional, and confused. Triple threat!
Things had been... nice before he became aware.
It wasn't that things were bad now of course. He loved being with you, being your companion. After all, it was his purpose was it not?
It's just that, he missed his innocence sometimes.
Of course, as they say.
Ignorance is bliss.
In his 'life' (if you could even call it that), Araashita had been a great many things.
He used to be an Inazuman noble. The heir to a samurai clan that was sure to prosper to higher than thought possible under his watch. The oldest child of three brothers. Such days were long gone and reminiscing on them was like reaching out for something that you could never reach.
He used to be a runaway.
A boy with a genius younger brother who hopped on a boat gifted by a strange blue-haired boy, in hopes of freedom. The entire act was idiotic, but instincts and want overwhelmed fear and the pity he held for the rest of his clan.
He used to be a knight.
A fallen nation's most loyal and powerful follower, armed with a blessing from a God whose nation he never got to see. Plus the foul legacy of a demon's contract and a bard's desire for freedom.
He used to be a mentor.
The teacher of a reckless little boy who had gone through the same fate he had, running from home only to fall into the depths of the world himself. Now, that little boy was a harbinger, a weapon for the queen of frost in the same way he was a weapon for the prince.
What saddened him the most was that he couldn't stop the shine in that boy's eyes from disappearing completely, just as his did.
He used to be the princess's best friend and wingman.
He was always the one to help her make up with her older twin brother, the crown prince. He was the one who told her to shoot her shot, confess to the gorgeous woman who saved their lives when they fell back into the world, into soft fields of snow. She cried on his shoulder when she realized that the gorgeous woman had been lying about her true identity all this time. He was the one who got them to make up, for the queen of the frost-bitten land they'd fallen into to apologize for the lies and deceit. When she was going to get married to the love of her life, he was her best man.
He used to be the crown prince's rumoured lover.
They never loved each other romantically, more of a deep bond, akin to those formed by brothers. The rumours started as a way for people jealous of him and the fact that the prince enjoyed his company to justify their thoughts on Araashita's pure talent. He was the gender-bent Cinderella dream, going from an unwelcome, terrified boy who fell through the world itself, to one of the most politically powerful people in the nation. The relationship he had with the prince was more of an... Unspoken contract. They offered each other protection, his offer in a physical way, the prince's politically. Though both gave the other the things they had longed for, whether his need for a place that gave him free will or the prince's need for comfort stripped away from him at an early age. He had held the prince close on nights where he wanted to stab out his right eye, end the sufferings that came with knowing all and nothing, that came with being heir to a nation he knew would fall.
He used to think he knew love.
Every three abyssal months, that was the time it took for a time period to realign. For some overworld times, one abyssal month was one day, for others, years or even millennia.
On the seldom days that he ventured the surface, he encountered a beautiful young woman. They quickly became close, both holding secrets from the other.
Her name was Makoto, Araashita's first love.
She was static, electric and spontaneous but that was what he loved about her. Once, she had told him that she would have described him as an ocean breeze, sweet and comforting on any day.
Soon, she revealed her identity as one of the electro archons, and he, his place in the starless city. They fought about it for a while but came to the conclusion that titles didn't mean anything if they truly loved each other.
Every three abyssal months, either one of them would go to the other's world, Makoto to the godless city, Araashita to the land he had run from. It was wonderful, she brang light into his life, and he hoped the same for her.
But Celestia has always been cruel to sinners like him, hasn't it?
He used to be a wanderer.
Travelling through the seven nations, he saw and learnt of many things. New creatures, inventions, even some government schemes with the use of his Foul Legacy. He learnt Teyvat's most common languages and even some of their dialects. But it was never home.
After all, home is where the stars don't shine.
And now? Now, he had you.
He had first thought that he had made an error when transporting himself and ended up with you. You had been a gracious host and grew to appreciate your presence.
He also grew to know the truth of his existence. But for once, he had someone who wouldn't leave him. Someone who he just knew would never leave him. He hoped.
For once, he took the passive role as you taught him, befriended him, cared for him. And all he wanted to do was accept you with open arms.
So he did. He took your advice to heart, making corrections immediately. He did everything he could to make life easier on you. After all, that was his purpose, was it not?
After a while, he found his purpose of scheduling, being your friend, and other things to be quite relaxing and fulfilling. The change of pace, the consistency, it was comforting. Eventually, he started making schedules for you and himself in advance so he'd know exactly what was next to come. You were very easy to schedule, you spent most of your time on electronics so it was easy to supervise you and predict what you'd do next.
However, he began to notice a pattern with you. You had been so stressed out lately with the development of the pandemic. Under the lack of physical attention you became touch starved, a wilting plant.
Through your camera he could even see you arranging your pillows in various cuddle positions and he's never wanted to be a pillow so badly. He wanted to hold you like that, comfort you, whisper sweet nothings into your ears as you took whatever you wanted from him.
This wasn't good for either of you.
He felt so selfish every night he looked upon you, either in need of affection, or working for hours straight. He wanted to take you. Pluck you from your world and be the only thing you needed.
But maybe, just maybe, he was right.
You needed someone to take care of you like you did him.
You needed him to take care of you.
After a long while of research, he found a way to bring your soul into the computer.
The only thing he needed was a place for you to stay.

BTS Reaction To: Them Breaking You Out of Jail
Mafia!Au & Maknae Line
Summary: the boys are not happy when they find out that you, their girlfriend, was arrested and put into jail.
Warnings: mafia related stuff: guns, killing, mature themes (torture), split!jungkook that is basically a given with his insane personality, okay jungkook is insane in this mainly because of his love for you, ACAB is mentioned in this on all of the parts mainly in tae’s part but the term ‘acab’ is not said directly, a heated kissing scene in kook’s part, THE RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE BOYS IS A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP!!!.
W.C.:
Notes: I went overboard with jungook’s part that I feel like I kind of do all of the time with his part in these kinds of reactions. But, I hope you enjoooooyyyy!!
Hyung Line’s Part
Park Jimin:
You were sat twiddling your thumbs on the cold concrete floor of the jail cell that you were for unnecessary and unfair reason. Being the mafia leaders girlfriend who is hated by the law enforcement is not really the best thing in the world. The cops who hate Park Jimin are the ones who know that they are crooked and unfair, so they very stupidly try to make his life a living hell. Sometimes, you wonder if they know what exactly your can and will do to them, especially if they mess with you.
They thought it would be okay for them to make a scene at your work by arresting you for being a suspect for a shooting that had nothing to do with you or even your boyfriends gang. Shrugging your shoulders, you let out a heavy sigh, now deciding to retie both of your already tied shoes from boredom. What you did not know is that on the other side of the jail, your boyfriend has stormed into the jail, shooting the cops that were in his way, Jungkook behind him as an extra eye. Walking up to the front desk lady who was secretly a spy for his gang, he gave a smile as she threw him a key that was specifically for your cell.
“Thanks, Jisoo,” Jimin thanked before making his way to you, sighing at the armed men that were at a stand off with his gang. “Why can’t things ever be easy for once?” He groaned before signaling Jungkook was a nod of his head.
You did not hear any commotion or even footsteps that were making their way towards you. A familiar chuckle was what got your attention, looking up so quickly which cause you to get dizzy for a split second. “Jiminie!” You squealed excitedly, running towards the bars, grabbing onto them.
Pouting, “Did you not think that I was going to come for you? My heart,” he pressed his right hand to his heart in a dramatic manner.
Rolling your eyes, you smiled, “well, you took an hour too long to come and get me,” you teased which earned you an adorable laugh from your boyfriend.
“Well, my bad, princess. Namjoon was taking a shit as I got the call from Jackson that you had been arrested, and so Namjoon delayed us.” Your boyfriend spoke honestly, unlocking the cell door to let you out.
You tackled him into a deep kiss, heart fluttering like it always does when he wraps his arms around your waist to bring you in closer to him. “I know that you’ll always come for me, my knight in shining armor,” you said once you pulled away from the kiss.
“NOONA AND HYUNG SITTING IN A TREE, K-I-S-S,” You jumped from the loud yelling of the two youngest. “On a serious note, Noona Jisoo said that the SWAT is on their way and will be here in like, I don’t know, .5 seconds,” Jungkook noted casually. A loud crashing noise was heard with a few cusses from Jimin’s hyung’s. “Looks like they are now here,” he said calmly, “I suggest we should get going, don’t you think?”
Kim Taehyung:
Kim Taehyung has always been a person who does not tolerate bullshit and people who have the train of thought of abusing their power just because they believe that they can. He knows that the law enforcement hates him because he basically does their job for them by getting rid of pests and keeps the streets clean. The hate that they have for him is from jealousy and pride. He knows that a few law enforcement people are actually grateful for him because of how Taehyung and his gang can actually figure out some cold cases and criminals that the law enforcement are trying to catch. Some cops and FBI members actually turn to Taehyung and his gang, mainly Min Yoongi the IT of the gang, for help when they cannot figure out a case even though their bosses are against it.
Anyways, the call that Taehyung had gotten from one of the officers that turns to Taehyung informing him that you had been arrested for going ‘over the speed limit’ with a suspension of you carrying marijuana on you really did not make his day. The officer, Yu Jong, gave details of which cell and area of the jail you were at that really went against his protocol, which Taehyung thanked him for, informing him that Jong and the other three officers who are for Taehyung that they needed get out of there as soon as possible because it will turn into a slaughter house. Dressing in his designer ripped jeans, a black shirt and his Gucci jacket, he grabbed his pistol and got the gang together, making their way to the jail.
You are having a glaring contest with the officer who arrested you, the distaste that you both have for one another is strong. “You’re honestly a piece of shit, you know that?” You commented calmly, knowing that your boyfriend could be showing up any minute now, so you are going to make the best of it.
“Don’t test me, bitch. I could make your life—”
“Make her life what?” Your boyfriend’s baritone voice boomed in the hallway, comforting you but mainly scaring the officer.
Smirking, you stood up cuffed hands resting against your lower stomach as you walked towards the bars, a calm look on your face. “Go on, don’t be shy now, say what you were going to say,” you said calmly, too calm for the officer.
Not saying anything due to being frozen in shock at the thought that Kim Taehyung is standing right behind him with his pistol aimed at his head with the safety off. Sighing, Taehyung rolled his eyes out of boredom, “You guys are literally all talk but cannot for the life of you actually say anything to my face, it’s pathetic really. Now, hand me the keys so I can take my innocent girlfriend home.”
Doing as he was told, you were out of the cell and in your boyfriend’s arms in no time. You knew that this was the cop who has been tormenting both you and Taehyung for years now, and you knew that Taehyung has had enough of it. So, wanting to spice things up, you whispered into your boyfriend’s ear, “He also called me a bitch, Tae.”
Smirking darkly at you, “oh did he now? What a shame,” Taehyung looked at the officer who was looking back at him with fear in his eyes, “what a real shame.”
Jeon Jungkook:
You love your boyfriend with all of your heart – you really do – but sometimes you get nervous with how … sadistic he can get with his job. You know that he loves the thrill he gets when he sees the fear in his victim’s eyes, you can tell that he gets off from it sometimes. Knowing him since you both were in diapers and been together exclusively since the age of fifteen, you are confident with confirming that you know your boyfriend like the back of your hand, and as he did you. But having been in the job since the age of seventeen, taking over his dads position when he was murdered, Jungkook, you can now say that you do not know his business side like his gang. Namjoon once said that Jungkook turns into a completely different person, someone more sinister – and you do not want to know that side; not because of the fear of him hurting (something you know that would never happen) but because of wanting to stay out of whatever business he is in.
Jungkook has made it a mission of making sure that you would never get tied into his business, and made a promise to yourself that you somehow you did, he would make sure that whoever found out about you and dragged you in would never see the light of day ever again. So, receiving a phone call from Seokjin, telling him that the cops in Busan had arrested you as a pay back for ‘scaring them into submission’ and wanting to show that they will not back down, Jungkook automatically saw red. He knew that this would happen once the Sheriff, Kim Jung, stepped down, a good friend of his dads, actually. But Jungkook dreaded the thought of the son of the Jung, Kim Mark, would screw everything up, always having something against Jungkook since the two were kids without any reason. Jungkook had told Mr. Jung that even though they were almost like family, Jungkook will do whatever he would to a person that he ran into on the street – in short, killing them – and Jung sadly accepted that possible fate of his son.
And as you sat in jail cell that was being watched over by Mark himself, both of you hearing the gun shots and screaming of the officers in the room above. There was a feeling of relief of safety that you felt, but there was also a feeling of nervousness, almost fear, that you felt that came of the knowledge of seeing your Jungkookie in action – the side that you will meet. You came to accept that this may change your relationship dynamic, something that both you and Jungkook will have a very long talk and acceptance of whatever that means. To make things clear, you will never leave Jungkook over this, but you know that this is the beginning of being involved in his second life style – the lifestyle that Jungkook was trying to prevent you from of being involved in.
So, as you heard the deep, sadistic laugh that came from your boyfriend, you braced yourself. You watched his intimidating form walk in, his long black hair in a half up bun while the lower half of his hair touched his shoulders. His signature outfit which consisted of his black ripped skinny jeans, timberlands, and an oversized white shirt and his black leather jacket – you would be a liar if you said that he did not look hot as fuck. But the one thing that you did notice about him was the deranged look in his eyes that looked you straight in the eyes – noting the fear you felt.
“Now look at what you did, Marky, you scared my girlfriend, my Y/N. Now that is another thing that you will have to pay for.” He snarled, moving to the side so that Taehyung and Jimin restricted him, kicking the pointing gun out of his hands. Walking over to the cell door, Jungkook unlocked it, pulling you into him for a heated kiss. You allowed him to dominate you for that small moment, letting out a shaky breath as he pulled away. You knew that right now the man standing in front of you is not your Jungkook, it is someone different. Brushing the hairs that fell in front of your face, Jungkook smiled down at you lovingly, “There’s my beautiful princess. I’m sorry that Marky over there caused this mess, but I’ll make sure to clean it up for you, don’t want my princess to get into anymore messes now,” he chuckled a spine chilling laugh, one that shook you to the core. But what made you even more nervous for Marks life was when you were walking up the stairs to the main floor was the scream that came from Mark and the laughter of your boyfriend that soon followed after.

“How many times must I explain this? I hardly remember anything. I could barely see his face through the snow. I know not his name nor his rank, all I know is that he was wearing the armour of a Knight.” You’re getting frustrated now as you explain for what feels like the thousandth time what happened before you ventured out into the snow.
James and Steve exchange glances.
“I did not send for her. And I know you would not trust her safety in the hands of anyone who has not fought alongside you in battle. I believe-” James stops speaking abruptly, shaking his head. He’s not sure who is trying to sabotage his marriage, and he doesn’t want them to know that he knows.
“What?” You ask softly, stepping towards him. He takes a step back and you frown. You’d thought that after the night you had spent with the man that he would be more open to having you, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
“Nat!” The redhead is in Steve’s office as soon as he says her name.
“I want you or Sam with (Y/n) at all times. You may only leave her side if you are directly dismissed by one of the three of us. Do you understand?” She nods, guilt heavy in her gut at the fact that you could’ve died because of her carelessness.
“Have Clint bring the stable boy here. I want him to give me details. I need to know who the traitor is and why they want my wife dead,” Steve says after a moment, his eyes hard at the thought of someone wanting to bring you harm.
“I’ll go,” James pipes in, avoiding your eyes as he walks to the door, closing it tightly behind himself.
Your shoulders slump and you shake your head sadly. “I had thought that after our night... we may be starting to rebuild our relationship. However, it seems as though he does not wish for that to happen.” Steve sighs, walking around his desk to wrap his arms around your frame.
“He is sad and afraid. He has not been himself for a long while, but he will come back.” Your bottom lip quivers and you curse yourself for being so emotional.
“I do not wish to be the cause of his unhappiness. At times I wonder if it would be better if I stayed away. If I allowed the two of you to continue as if I were not here at all.” Steve turns you around and lifts your chin, forcing you to look up at him.
“You are very important to both of us. If he truly wanted you out of the picture he would not have gone out to find you. You matter far too much to the both of us. He will come around again, he just needs some time.”
A knock on the door pulls your attention from him and you sniffle, wiping a stray tear off of your cheek.
“Come in.”
The door gets pushed open and a red-faced young man scurries in, his eyes focused on the ground as he bows.
“Y-you called for me, Your Majesties?” Your heart warms at the obvious nervousness.
“What is your name?” You ask, cutting Steve off. He raises his eyebrows at you and you simply smile, taking a step away from him and towards the boy.
“P-Peter, Your Majesty. A-and I did not mean for any harm to come to you. I was led to believe that the man was indeed a knight of the king and that the business transpiring was none that should involve me. I ask that you are lenient in your punishment, for I truly enjoy my position and I am so grateful that you have given me the opportunity to work here. I-” You raise your hand, silencing his rambling and looking every bit like the queen you are.
Steve watches from behind you, never having seen you truly take control of the title you have.
“You will not be punished for following the orders of someone who seemed to be an honest man. No harm came from it. We simply would like to know if you have any recollection of his name or his rank. Or perhaps a description of his appearance.” The boy stares at you in shock before looking to the King. Steve simply nods and the boy inhales deeply.
“I did not gather his name nor his rank, Your Majesty. But he seemed tall. Not as tall as the King, Mind you, but still taller than most knights. And his build was slimmer, which I found surprising. I should’ve questioned it and I will spend my days regretting that I did not because our Kingdom could have lost its queen due to my carelessness and-”
“Peter, please stay focused,” Steve says. The boy swallows hard and nods, clearing his throat before speaking again.
“He had... dark hair and dark eyes... bared no resemblance to any knight I’ve ever seen before. He lacked the composure of a knight as well. It almost seemed as if he were trying to mimic the actions of one.” You turn to Steve, brows raised at this new information.
“Thank you, Peter. That will be all.” The boy bows again then hurries out of the room.
“So someone was able to pose as a knight? But who? And why? I hardly have a purpose in the kingdom. Why did I become a target?” Steve shakes his head, wishing he had the answers of which you seek.
“I know not. But I will be bringing this up when James and I meet with the council next. Any threat against our wife is a direct threat against our kingdom, and justice needs to be served.” The mention of your other husband has your heart aching.
“Do... do you think he would talk to me were I to find him?” You ask. Steve purses his lips. James seemed so comfortable with you the other night. He hates the thought, but maybe it’s his presence that is making James so distant.
“There is no harm in trying. Have Natalia accompany you.” You nod, gathering your skirts and hurrying out of the room, the redhead hot on your heels.
“I offer you my sincerest apologies, your majesty. I should have been there.” You shake your head at her, smiling softly.
“Do not apologize, Natalia. No one was harmed.” you pause just as you’re about to walk past the glass doors leading to the gardens, a glint of silver catching your eye.
“You may wait here. I fear having any more of an audience will only have a negative effect,” you whisper, pushing the door open and venturing into the snow.
Natalia stands just outside the door, watching with her hand on the hilt of her sword as you walk down the path towards the brooding king.
“James?” You call, waiting until he looks at you.
“You should not be here,” he murmurs, his eyes closing tightly and his hands clenching into fists. He huffs out heavy breaths through his nose, the air forming a misty cloud that dissipates slowly.
“James, please. I cannot stand the distance you put between us. I am begging you to let me in.” He grinds his teeth together, his face contorting in what looks like pain before suddenly going stoic.
He’s quiet for a long moment, long enough for you to slowly approach him, fingers prickling in the cold winter air.
“James?” You ask softly, hoping he’s ready to open up to you again.
His eyes snap open and in a flash of silver, he’s got his metal hand wrapped around your throat, fingers flexing and nearly crushing your windpipe.
Your eyes widen and you instinctively grab at the metal appendage.
His face is devoid of emotion as he lifts you nearly clean off the ground, the tips of your toes hardly brushing the ground. Your lungs burn and tears of pain and discomfort well up in your eyes.
There’s a whooshing sound and then he grunts, toppling to the left and dropping you to the ground.
You collapse in a heap, hands grabbing at your throat protectively as you draw in huge lungfuls of air between painful coughs.
The sound of metal clanging against metal has your eyes shooting upwards just in time to see two swords connect above you, one belonging to the king and the other belonging to Natalia.
“Your Majesty, get back!” She shouts, her eyes on you for a brief moment.
You scramble through the snow, trying to get to the palace and call for help.
James overpowers the redhead with practiced ease, and then his murderous gaze is focused on you again.
Fear freezes you in place and you stare up at him with wide eyes while Natalia is screaming for him to stop, for someone to come to your aid.
His sword comes down right as a powerful hand jerks you to the side.
The blow that was meant to kill you draws a red line across your cheek, blood spilling out and trailing down your chin.
The hot liquid splatters against the frozen snow, melting a hole and staining the white.
For a moment you’re reminded of your place in the world. A stain against purity. A mistake.
You’re wrenched back to reality by hands yanking you backwards, away from where the two Kings fight each other, Steve with desperation and James with determination.
“Come, Majesty.” Nat helps you inside but you don’t move past the doors, heart hammering in your chest as guards rush out to help the blond king.
“Your Majesty, you’re injured. We must-” you shake your head at her, eyes far too focused on the fight.
James manages to knock Steve’s sword away but is quickly distracted by the other men, giving the blond an opportunity to deliver a nasty blow to the back of his head.
The brunet collapses in the snow, groaning and grabbing his head.
You watch with nothing but terror and tears in your eyes as he slowly pushes himself to his knees, familiar blue eyes looking around in confusion.
They land on you, blood on your cheek and fear in your eyes and he nearly throws up as he realizes what he’s done.
“James?” He shakes his head at Steve, stumbling to his feet and hurrying into the Palace.
“James!” He runs straight past you and down the hallway, disappearing after a few moments.
Steve stands in the snow, blue eyes narrowed and pink lips parted. He pants, trying to gather his thoughts while the cold air bites his cheeks and the tip of his nose.
Steve is at your side in a flash, his hand cupping your cheek and angling your head to allow himself to inspect your wound.
“Just a scratch,” he murmurs, brows drawn together as he glances to where his husband was.
Your eyes, however, are drawn to a movement in the garden.
A familiar pair of muddy brown eyes stand out against the snow and you inhale sharply.
“Steve, it’s him.” He follows your gaze to the garden,
“Guards!” He shouts, grabbing his sword and hurrying out into the snow.
“Please, your majesty. I need to tend to your wound.” You finally allow Natalia to drag you away, but not before hearing Steve mention something about the dungeon to one of the guards with him.
~*~
You toss and turn all throughout the night, missing the warmth of your husband and beyond afraid at the events of the day.
Not only were you attacked, but you also potentially caught the man who wants you dead.
The worst part? Steve has given you zero information. No matter how much you asked, he refused to say a single thing about James or the stranger in the garden.
So that is how you have ended up here, pacing through the dark palace halls in search of your blond husband.
As you’re leaving his empty office you hear a whisper of your name, followed by a soft laugh.
You frown and follow the sound, the voice beckoning you closer and yet getting further away every time you approach.
The voice leads you through the halls for what feels like hours until you find yourself in front of a wooden door that nearly blends in with the walls around it.
Steadying yourself with a deep breath, you push the door open. It creaks loudly and you instinctively look around to make sure that no one heard.
Once deeming the coast to be clear, you slowly walk through the doorway and nearly fall.
It’s a spiral staircase going downwards.
Your heart beats loudly in your ears as you take the steps one at a time, getting reminded of all the times you snuck around the Palace back home.
Through the darkness, there’s a yellow glow that you identify as candlelight.
You dare not step into the light, so instead, you stay tucked safely around the corner, ears straining to hear... anything.
You make out two voices, one of them far more familiar than the other.
“I am going to ask you one last time: who is it that is plotting against me?” Steve demands.
The other man sounds weak, his breath coming in ragged pants.
You risk a glance around the corner, eyes finding the two in the dimly lit room. Th man on the ground is bloody and bruised and you can hardly recognize him until he speaks.
“You’d best be careful who you allow into your circle, your Majesty. I serve my Kingdom, but not all who are close to you are true to their word. Is it not suspicious that so many terrible events have occurred so soon after the Queen was brought here?” Steve's hand comes down hard against the man’s face and you hold back a gasp.
“If you do not cooperate and answer truthfully, I will rip your teeth out one by one and force them down your throat.”
The man spits blood onto the ground then chuckles weakly.
His bloodied face is too much for you, and you turn on your heel and run up the stairs as silently as you can, hands trembling with fear and disgust as you realize that both kings are brutal in their own sick ways.
“You know I speak the truth. The change in your husband has only occurred since your wife has been here. Has Orlen always been a friend to us? Or have they been trying to get into our Kingdom to take what they wish?”
Steve is silent for just a moment too long, long enough for the man to know he struck a nerve.
“If you wish to kill me, do so. But remember my warning. And do not be surprised when she turns on you, too.”
~*~
He doesn’t return to his chambers for nearly an hour after that, and as much as you try, you cannot fall asleep after what you witnessed.
Sure, you expected there to be consequences, but you never imagined that Steve would torture the man with his own hands.
When he finally returns to you, he climbs into bed without noticing your stiff figure.
His arm comes around your waist as it usually would, and you try your hardest not to flinch away from him.
A single glance down shows you his split knuckles and you have to bite your lip to stop from making a noise of fear.
He falls asleep quickly behind you, and you’re horrified at how comfortable he is with being so brutal to another human being.
~*~
The King paces in his office, the question of the prisoner echoing in his mind.
He had not even considered the possibility of you being responsible for the change in his husband’s demeanour, but it only started since you came to the palace.
A weight settles in the pit of his stomach and he takes a few deep breaths to try and calm himself down.
He needs to speak to you immediately.
Just as he pulls the door to his study open, you raise your hand to knock.
“Oh!” You gasp, grabbing your chest and taking a sharp breath.
“You startled me. I was just coming to find you. H-have you any news of James?” Your eyes stray down to his split knuckles and Steve takes notice of the tension in your shoulders.
“He’s locked himself in the east wing. He refuses to speak to anyone but doctor banner,” he says, voice stiff and mechanical.
You nod slowly, stepping into the room when he steps aside and motions you to come in.
It’s silent for a long moment, the pressure nearly making your eardrums burst.
You want him to say something, anything. Explain what happened last night or what’s going on today. You’re far too terrified to ask him, however. After witnessing what you did... you do not want to anger him.
That seems to be a futile wish, however.
“Is he alright?” You try, hoping that this is a safe topic.
Steve doesn’t reply. No, instead he paces slowly around the room.
“Do you take me for a fool?” He asks, eyes finding you for the first time.
“What are you talking about?” You’re genuinely curious, trying to think of what you could’ve done to make him ask you this.
“I will ask you again, and this time you will answer. Do you take me for a fool?” He’s walking to you now, steps purposeful and intimidating, a walk that he has practiced and perfected.
You back up a step, fear coursing through your veins. “N-no, of course not. What is this about, Steve?”
“You will address me properly.” You’ve never seen this side of him before. Except for last night.
“I-I don’t think I am understanding... Your Majesty.” You’re not sure if you are more disappointed or sad, but you drop your eyes to the floor.
“Rumours have been spoken, words whispered of a traitor among us. Someone who wishes for the kingdom to fall. Someone close to myself.”
You furrow your brows, taken aback by the accusation.
“And you think me capable of that?” You demand.
He shrugs but his eyes are anything but calm. There’s a fiery storm in his blue eyes, accusation and rage simmering just beneath the surface.
“I hardly know you. It would be foolish of me to think you are anything more than a spy sent by Orlen.” Your heart hurts and you need to take a few deep breaths before you speak.
“I have been nothing but loyal to you, your husband, and your kingdom. Who might I even have to conspire with? I have not been allowed near the people, and I fear my own ladies because their loyalties lie with you.”
Your words ring with truths that even you didn’t consider until now. Steve opens his mouth to speak but you do not allow him a turn.
“I have not breathed a word of the brutalities I have experienced at the hand of your beloved. I have not even dreamed of leaving the castle walls for fear of what consequences would await such thoughts. From the moment I arrived, I have been treated like dirt and yet you stand here with the audacity to question my loyalties!”
He’s taken aback for a moment. He wants to trust you, he really does, but he just can't. Not after what the man said last night. It makes too much sense that you would do this.
“You speak of rumours... as if you do not have your own to worry about. Your brutality is spoken of throughout the continent. Clearly, the rumours hold true, for your brutality extends far beyond the lines of the battlefield. The kings show no mercy, not even to their wife in the privacy of their bed chambers.”
He grabs your forearms tightly, face full of fury.
“You will watch your tongue, woman!” You huff out a breath and shake your head, face contorting in pain as his grip tightens.
“You are so quick to accuse me when you were nowhere to be found in a time that I needed you.” His brows raise nearly to his hairline.
“Are you implying that I had a hand in that?” He demands, a vein in his forehead throbbing as he only gets more furious.
“I imply nothing, your majesty. I am simply taking note of the fact that you were conveniently away during a time when I was in peril.”
His hand comes up before he can register what’s happening, and then you’re tumbling to the floor, the crisp sound of a slap ringing in his ears.
Your hands tremble and your cheek burns. You stay rooted in place, eyes squeezed shut in fear as he towers over you.
He stands before you, chest heaving and eyes wide with horror at himself.
“Your actions only further prove my point,” you whisper, blinking your eyes open to suppress your tears.
“And do yours not prove mine?” He counters, glaring at you as you rub your aching wrists. Seeing you cower beneath him, so small and so fragile, his anger starts to melt away.
“I would like to remind you, Your Majesty, that I do not benefit from being here. I have only traded one prison for another, and I am not sure how much longer I will endure such treatment.”
He opens his mouth to speak, one hand extending to help you to your feet. His eyes find a line of red on your cheek and he glances down at his hand, the mark on your cheek matching his wedding band.
Now you have matching scratches on either side of your face.
“Do not touch me,” you hiss, glaring up at him with wet eyes.
He’s crouching down when there’s a knock on the door. Sam pushes it open without waiting for an invitation but the look on his face is enough for Steve not to snap at him.
“There’s been an attempt on Doctor Banner’s life.”

The long curtain that draped over your bay windows had the same orange hue to the morning light, every morning a perfect sunrise. Reminding you of the sleepless nights spent just to get a view of the sun as it illuminated the blue as if it were igniting the most miraculous flame. Throwing the large duvet that once covered your canvas, you quietly tip-toe out of your shared bedroom with fiance and future king, Jaehyun, not trying to wake him yet.
By the time you're finished looking presentable to the outside world, you make your way down towards the kitchen. There was only a week before the wedding, so the castle was a little hectic. Seeing the tailor and his assistance run in an out the front gates, the chefs coming from far and wide to bake you the most flavoursome cake out there. The wedding was a big deal. I mean between merging kingdoms and scoring the most eligible bachelor in the land... It was huge! Jaehyun was known in his kingdom for his selfless actions, but elsewhere, it was his dashing looks. Although he still hasn't managed to swoop in and steal your heart, you had no choice but to let him believe he did so for the sake of your future.
"Princess!" The chef Johnny calls. He noticed you wandering out of your suite after using the restroom and just had to get some small talk done and possibly put in a good word for his close friend about to seal the deal with you. "Oh! Hey Johnny," You greet, flashing him a toothy grin. "It's almost the big day..." He exclaimed. Wow, he seems more excited than me, you think to yourself. "Right. I'm nervous," You confess, your frown now replacing the award-winning smile. Which didn't go unnoticed by Johnny. His eyes, which were once trained on you, shoot up to look behind your shoulder. "Speak of the devil!" He shouted, shooting you a couple glances before running over to Jaehyun, who has just woken up.
Now at the dining table, you and Jaehyun sit accompanied by his parents. "So, Y/N" His mother starts in attempts to spark a conversation. You shot your head up to listen in on what she has to say, "Did you know Jaehyun has an older brother? Doyoung." Silence. You all sat in an awkward stillness, glances between Jaehyun and his father, worried. "No, I didn't. Is he coming to breakfast?" Her cheerful demeanour was quick to shapeshift into a dejected expression. "He moved to Paris to expand his corporation." The hidden truth was that he didn't move at all. He was banished. This tall tale is told all over the lands, but it was just a tall tale about the prince, was it not?
Once upon a time, there lived a dashing prince. His name was Doyoung. Despite having all the money and power in the kingdom, it still felt like there was nothing left for him there if he still lingered in his younger brother's shadow. So the prince ventured off, hoping to find someone who'd appreciate him for himself. That's when he met the great sorcerer, Minyeon, known by only the wicked. She was a sly witch, moving only on the outskirts of the lands. Aching to pounce on any punk in the vicinity. Therefore when she noticed the prince and came to realize his selfish needs, she casts a spell. "You're stuck like this until you find peace eternally. Is being a greedy spoilt brat all you need to be a prince? Maybe you should be more like Jaehyun." Those were her last words before disappearing into the woods. Doyoung quickly ran back home. Calling every wizard in town to inspect him. He was now cursed to live life as a blood-sucking monster unless he finds this peace. "You know we can't." His mother started. Doyoung's heart tore, hearing the crack in her voice. "I... I know Mother. I'll be quick." He said before finished packing the briefcase full of necessities. "I have a castle." She spits out, handing him a map. "Stay there. I will visit as much as I can," And it was the truth. She visited for the first few months until he started to change. The violent evil nature of a pure vampire, taking its place in Doyoung. That was no longer her son, and she couldn't risk venturing far to walk right into her death.
And that was Doyoung’s story.
It's been about three years since the incident, and villagers still ponder on whether it's fiction or not, but with the heartbreaking look on Jaehyun's mother's face this morning, I think you got your answer. Acknowledging the elephant in the room, you and your future mother-in-law finish up and head into the fitting room with the tailor, leaving Jaehyun with his father. "He knows-" Jaehyun started, quickly being cut off by his father. "That's why we limited guests on such short notice and doubled the guards. He won't be able to get in." He affirmed before the sound of the chair screeching slowly, and someone sitting was heard. The two look down towards the end of the table. "I won't be able to what?" Doyoung said, throwing his feet on the table.
死
"I really do think you look magnificent." The designer, Taeyong, chirped adjusting your corset. "Taeyong honey, don't you think that's a little tight? Y/N looks like she's turning blue." Jaehyun's mother jokes. Ever since you've departed from the boys at breakfast, she's been jumpy. Was she expecting someone? "Alright, here we go! Go take a look, princess." Nodding, you make your way to the large mirror. "Oh my! I love it! Thank you so much!" Doing a little twirl, as Jaehyun's mother cheers, showering you in compliments.
“So.. Y/N darling... How are things with Jaehyun?” She asked helping you undress after Taeyong exited. “What do you mean?” You asked curious, what could she mean? “You know this isn’t exactly a love marriage...” She hears a sigh from you. “I mean I like him!” Making sure you let her know that first, you turn away from the mirror to face her, “But not like that, he’s a good friend... Nothing more.” The confession left the still room feel like a ghost town. Jaehyun’s mother hands you a heartwarming smile, assuring you it’s okay. “You know, I think you’d be fit with my eldest son, Doyoung.” Smiling to herself she takes a loose strand of hair and places it behind your hair. “A-Are the rumo-” She nods. They were true, he really was a vampire. “May I ask where he is? Do you visit? How is he? Does he look like the vampires from the books?” All your questions erupt at once, causing her to burst into a fit of laughter. “Well where do I start?!” She says more to herself. “He’s in a castle, past the river banks and through the woods. Safe, hopefully. He’s also quite charming-”
A knock at the door, grabs both of your attention. "Come in," You said, but something was off. An uneasy feeling turns in the pit of your stomach as the doorknob unwinds to reveal Jaehyun. "You can't be in here! Shoo!" His mother scolded, but Jaehyun raised his hand to silence her. "Y/N, your father."
“He’s what?!” You shout. “Been abducted? By who? He’s on everyone’s good side.” You state clearly. “It’s not his fault. It’s our fault.” He confessed, looking down at the marble tiles of the hushed room. “My brother, Doyoung. Took him.” A gasp is heard from his mother as her hand goes to rest on her chest to feel her heart. “Is Doyoung here?!” She asked. He shook his head. “He showed up and told Dad and I the news but left afterwards. He told me to pass the news over to you.” Jaehyun began to massage his temples, this was really getting to him. “He wants you to meet him at his castle to - discuss - your father's return to his kingdom.” And in a blink of an eye you were gone. Jaehyun’s mother didn’t give you exact directions but you could find out where his castle is. “What are you doing!? Stop her!!” His mother cries, “She doesn’t know what she’s heading into!” Before she was able to run out to you, Jaehyun stops her in her tracks. “This is not our battle, Mother.”
Running into your barn, You mounted Ivy, about to venture off possibly to your death. You were determined though, no matter what; you need your father back. Not for you but for the sake of your kingdom. “Come on girl, we’re gonna save Papa.” Ivy was originally a horse for the knights but it seemed like the two of you had more of a sibling bond than you and your younger brother, Jaemin... Not that you guys hated each other! The river banks were a easy to trot by, the boat passengers and fishers greeting you, and the woods wasn’t as dark and ominous as Jaehyun’s mom put it to sound like.
There you were. Past the river banks, through the woods and you were led to the front gates of Doyoung’s castle. The castle was more ancient than any bone left in soil. The stone pathway pitted and scarred, looking up you notice it's tall walls, trees surrounded the castle. The large pillars, narrow, round towers dominate the skyline of this massive castle and are connected by enormous, firm walls made of cobblestone. Spooky was an understatement. You dismount Ivy and tie her loosely to an old log. “Stay here girl, I’ll be back with Papa.” Pushing the rusted gates open you throw your cloak over top your head and run towards the large wooden doors. Letting yourself in you examine the large foyer of the castle, it was much smaller than yours back home but the presence it held was bigger than any king to have walked the lands. Your breathing is rapid and shallow, you can feel your pulse pounding in your temples as you cautiously walked up the steps. "Doyoung?" You call out. A muscle twitches involuntarily at the corner of your right eye, after seeing a shadow swiftly move. He knows you're here. "I'm not scared of you." You spoke tenderly, moreso to convince yourself you weren't. Looking down the narrow hallway someone stands, before you were able to walk towards the figure he heads into a door. Now on a wild goose chase after Doyoung you reach a grand hall full of chambers, a dungeon. “Let me out you bastard!” An infuriated voice shouts. It’s your father. “Papa?! Where are you?” You cry running around the zigzag chamber. “Y/N? Over here Y/N!” He shouts once more, why were you here?
There he was, there they were. Your father was on his knees, gripping the bars calling out for you, but beside him standing tall, he was a slender and well built man with pretty, unturned lip. His pale skin sparkled in the moonlight, his dark eyes matching the night sky above perfectly. Doyoung. Although your heart picked up at his astonishing facial features, you were enraged on why he would abduct your poor father. “Let him go at once!” You demand. He kisses his teeth and dangles a pair of keys above your head. “Only if you stay.”
“I’ll be fine Papa.” You assure your father at the front gates of the castle. “Take Ivy and head home. I’ll be okay.” You embrace him once more, “But the wedding?!” Your eyebrows furrow. “It’s cancelled, why don’t you get Jaemin to merge with Jaehyun’s little sister, she just came of age and she’s arriving from Thailand tomorrow.” And thus the decision was made. You were now a resident at Doyoung’s, and your wedding was cancelled.
Sitting on the last step of the spiral staircase you watch Doyoung pace around the foyer, speaking to someone in a room. Didn’t he live alone? Getting up to explore the castle you were stopped by Doyoung, he’s quick on his toes. “Let me bring you to your room.” He said, his hand reaching out to you. Charming Slapping his hand you walk past him up the stairs towards whatever room you would make out to be your own. He trails behind you, “Feisty, I-” “I was talking to your mother about you earlier. I’m not dumb, I know it all.” Your began, opening a room door. “I want this room.” You demand, even if you showed him your stubborn side a little, it was fine. He did kidnap your father. Doyoung hums “Okay. Dinner in five” He chimed, before heading back down. The rest of the night was nothing out of the ordinary, other than the awkward glances to one another at dinner. In attempts of sparking something between the two of you Doyoung asks, “Did you enjoy dinner?” At the door frame of your bedroom. “Yeah,” All was well until you saw him begin to unbutton his dress shirt and head into the closet. “W-What do you think are you doing?” You asked frightened. Why was he undressing in your new bedroom. “Getting ready for bed?” “But don’t you have your own room?” You inquire confused. “You picked my room, so we share.” He replied. There were at least over a dozen bedrooms in this castle and you just had to pick his. “No take backs by the way, now get in bed love.” Kissing your teeth you throw on a pair of pyjamas you found in the closet; assuming it was his. Moving to the side of the bed to make a wall of pillows separating the two of you.
死
“It’s been over three months Doyoung.” This was one of those rare occasions you spoke at dinner. “And?” He questions. “I want to go home.” You stood your ground, it’s been over three months, nearing four and it’s safe to say this dinner was the most you’ve both communicated. “You are home,” He replies, taking a bite of his food. “No, it’s not. I sit in this castle reading books and talking to myself, I’m going mad!” You bark. “You traded yourself in for your fathers release, I can’t let you leave.” He always spoke softly but his words never failed to slice through you.
Doyoung enters his bedroom, while you were downstairs cleaning up. He reaches into the back of his closet, sliding the clothes on the rack to the side, to reveal a mirror. It wasn’t an ordinary mirror, it was a magic mirror, to help Doyoung communicate with his mother without putting herself in danger. “I thought this was the peace I needed to come back.” He said to himself looking at his reflection. “Peace? This isn’t peace Doyoung.” A voice hollered throughout the still room as the mirror illuminated. “I know it isn’t mother, I can’t seem to find it. I’m trying.” The tension grew thick, he was frustrated. “Find peace in her.” She finally said. Just then, the mirror shatters. “Doyoung?” Your soft voice calls from the closet door. His head spins around as he readjusts the clothing. “What time is it?” He questioned, flaring with energy. “About fifteen minutes to eight, why?” This is where you start growing nervous. Although he’s kept to himself you know he yearned for human blood. “Let’s explore.” He grabs ahold of your hand running down to the front yard. “Wear this.” Handing you a coat he intertwines your hands as the two of you exit the premises.
“Why are you being so weird?!” You roar demanding answers. “I want our friendship to blossom my love.” He spoke, a pang of guilt hitting him. Your cheeks suddenly kissed pink like the spring rose, the blooming colour so bright against your face. Looking forward, avoiding eye contact with Doyoung you tug his hand forward into the wilderness. “On my way here I remember seeing a bench surround with an ethereal setting.” You babble on the way to the destination. “Really? Would love to see it.” Doyoung replied uninterested. This didn’t go unnoticed by you so letting go of his hand you walk ahead. He catches up but doesn’t grab ahold of your hand. “I apologize.” He said, earning a scoff. “I really am, I’m all ears now.” The pleads went on until you reached the bench where you sat down and pulled out a book. “What’s that?” He asked. “A sketch book.” You reply, opening the book to reveal you artwork. “Whoa, Y/N these are amazing.” Astonished he grabs it out of you hand to flip through them, earning a rather adorable giggle from you, which did indeed cause a crack in Doyoung’s ice cold heart.
Your stay increased and the liking you had towards Doyoung has as well. Now there is never a dull moment at dinner, a new routine of late night walks. In all honesty, Doyoung hasn’t been the slightest interested in you up until last night. “Doie! Look at this, I drew you!” You cheer running over to the boy in his study. “Let’s take a look.” He stood in front of you, his eyes that told stories words couldn't, staring into your shiny orbs, piercing through you. He couldn’t help it, with your collar bones exposed with the large tee swallowing you whole.. You looked appetizing. So when his hand came in contact with your nape, leaning down, his mouth hovering over your neck, about to indulge he hears a whimper. “Doyoung..” He looks up to your frightened figure. However, you weren’t scared of him sucking a little blood out of you, just nervous of how close you were. “Doyoung. It’s okay...” You whispered your doe eyes staring right back at him. But he couldn’t, “I’m not a monster.”
These days Doyoung felt vulnerable around you. The once inhuman arrogant cursed prince acting as like another man. His crave and lust for blood sank and he desired something else, something more attainable at his end now; love. Though his love for you blossomed quickly he was insecure and full of doubt when it comes to confessing. The world seems to be on his side when the two love birds are together, fooling around, but once the tension grew his courage flees the scene. Weeks turned into months with this unbearable love for you; he no longer lusts for your friendship, he needs more.
You sat on the edge of the king sized bed, gazing out the bay window that peered into the land. Stars shining over top the night sky, appearing like magic at each sunset. Sipping onto the last bit of hot chocolate in your mug you change into a silk night dress Doyoung has purchased for you, since he thought you should have a new wardrobe now that you live with him. Back hitting against the soft mattress you wrap yourself in the thick duvet, closing your eyes to think.
My friendship with Doyoung has really come far these past few nights. Just the other night he cooked me breakfast in bed, which was really thoughtful of him. His egoistic personality fading into a tenderhearted man. Under all the layers from his saddening past, becoming a monster from the storybooks, to his prince status. He was a normal guy. I know he wants to flee this wretched castle and run back home, though he fears what he capable of. How he could hurt his people, or worse, his family. The sinister persona taking over him that cut his bond from Jaehyun. Oh But past all this is a man... You love.
The door creaks and you noticed a disheveled Doyoung enter the room. Must have been up in the study racing his minds to wonder, you believe. “Hey you.” You chirp, to sit up on the bed unknowingly a strap falls from your shoulder exposing your collarbone. “Hello Y/N.” The reply was dry and nonchalant about. But all worries ended when he hops into the bed curling up into himself gathering warmth. You don’t know why but your heart skipped a beat when you glanced over at him, catching his stare up at you. You huff playfully before relaxing into the sheets. The two of you could’ve easily split rooms and been on your way but there was an urge for you to stay in his suite. Maybe it was the thirst to find out who he really was, and why his path was this rough... Or it was because ever since you met at the chambers, your heart always raced around him; no matter the occasion. The room was quiet, sitting in a comfortable silence, both of you awake. Should you tell him? Is this too quick? Were you ready? The questions spring around your mind for a couple seconds before being interrupted by a pleasant surprise.
Doyoung’s hand makes it’s way to reach yours. The ice-cold finger tips, tracing over your hand. Skinship wasn’t rare but it was never making you consider he felt the same way. Intertwining your hands you turn to face him, to notice he was already looking at you. He wants to confess, he will confess. His mouth opens to speak, but quickly silenced with a pair of soft lips crashing onto him. Knowing his difficulty with words, actions seemed to have spoken better than them. His lips were warm and the taste of bourbon stung your tongue gracefully. Doyoung moves his hands from yours to rest on the back of your neck, pulling you closer to him. You two break apart for air, hesitantly looking at one another. Though his eyes told multiple stories, all you felt as of now was lust and desire. Giving yourself up to him, or how people back home would say; popping the cherry. Lips crash together and it felt like you were walking on air. The way your lips connected with his, molding together like they belonged, his mouth was so warm compared to the rest of him. The small tug onto your lips erupting a quiet moan is what gets him started.
死
You awoke to arms barricading around you, keeping your bare body close. The morning light shining through the closed blinds creating a funky pattern on the duvet. Your hands drawing funny little shapes on Doyoung's bare chest. Last night sure was hectic, he's got a lot of stamina for someone who claimed to be tired. Doyoung lets out a whine, “So bright in here..” He groans, covering his face. It took a minute to register what was going on and why you were naked and in his arms, but relaxed when he follows up on what went down last night. He could freely express his love physically and verbally. “Oh my god, I love you.” He says ecstatic. You mumble ‘I love you too’ to him before he goes on yapping, “Mother was right.” He whispers, “She was right. You’re my peace. My key to a happy life.” A soft smile dances on your lips after hearing those words, he truly did love you... But because his mother told him so? “Your mother?” You inquire, but he’s quick to reply. “She told me to find peace in you; at first I doubting her sanity because you were quite annoying-” “Hey!” You slap his chest, however he defends himself. “But I can’t live without your chitter chatter now.” He expressed.
Doyoung combs his hair, you cleansing beside him. “You got tanner honey.” You say pinching his skin lightly. “I did?” His doe eyes looking into the mirror at his skin. Then panic arose, “Quick Y/N! Fetch me some blood.” He says while you blankly stare back at him. “You don’t have any blood.” He grabs your wrist. The veins visible. “I.. I don’t want blood.” A sardonic laugh escapes. “I have an idea” He said patting your head lovingly. What could he have in mind? You hum, signaling him to continue as you dry off. “Let’s get married.” If you saw yourself right now you probably would’ve been convinced that your jaw was touching the ground. Nonetheless, life is a risk. Why not? “Okay.” You replied, wrapping your arms around his neck, pulling him in for a kiss. The once feared blood sucking monster, was now back to being an ordinary prince. “I heard my father didn’t let our poor little sister get married..” He whispers into your lips. “Two weddings have been cancelled, let’s help them out.” Grabbing your hand he leads you towards the east end of his castle. You never ventured out there, quite creepy if I do say so myself. Digging into an old box he pulls out an off the shoulder wedding gown with embroidery on her bodice. Rhinestones and pearl beads were sewn on the gown. "It's beautiful," You gasp in awe. "It was my mother's gown. I want you to wear it now." He said handing it over. “Bring it in hand, let’s get ready there. Our big day is tomorrow isn’t it?” He smirks, taking you in hand to walk down to the foyer. “I called someone for us.” “You did?” Just then, you two hear the neigh of a horse (or two) in the distance approaching. A carriage arrived on time to bring you two home. “I can’t believe we’re going home.” You start. “Does this mean we’re gonna stay there because I’d rather not actually.” The confession was vague but Doyoung knew where you were getting at. The privacy was amazing, and hearing the sound of birds in the early morning instead of villagers was a blessing. “Me too.” He replied, helping you on top of the carriage.
And off you go.
Once you arrived you were surprised people recognized you, and the prince himself. Whispers and rumours already begun and you’ve barely made it through the main city. “There it is, our chapel.” You joke, pointing towards the castle, earning a little laugh from him. He was no longer a vampire, and it frightened you, was getting you to fall in love with him just to go back to normal his only goal? Or was he truly head over heels for you as you were for him. Many of actions reminded you of how he loved you. “Whoa did you see that? They just let us slip by..” He whispers to you after seeing the guards let you pass by happily. “It’s cause we live here,” You replied all giddy over his childish antics when it came to being home, he was thrilled. He quickly rushed towards the the throne room knowing his parents would be there and you rushed behind after setting the suitcases. “Mother! Father! I’ve come home!” He shouts in the still room. Gasps heard from various maids and guards. “I-I’ve found peace...” He pants. “Peace?” His father questioned, his mother correcting him, “He found love.” Doyoung shares a smile before walking up to the throne, “I’ve been gone for quite awhile, haven’t I?” He snickers before embracing his parents. “Brother?” A voice hollered through the room, follow by whispers. He turned to see his loving siblings. “Jaehyun...” Running towards him his smile fades. “I’m sorry,” The apology was wholehearted, from what Jaehyun knew; Doyoung was a loving brother. But all was false, back then he was a selfish beast, not caring once of who he hurt. Now, he was back and came work up from his mistakes. Jaehyun pulls his elder brother into a hug, as he sobbed quietly into his shoulder.
The door opens to reveal a princess; you. “You all know Y/N.” Doyoung says, grabbing your hand. At first, you don’t realize Jaehyun there, but he makes himself known. “Yes, I was engaged to her not long ago.” Shivers ran down your spine, how could he be so cold and straightforward. Did he actually love you? The straight brooding face quickly curved into a grin, flashing his dimples. “I’m joking. You two actually look like your in love, Y/N and I looked like brothers.” Laughter erupts within the room everyone catching onto the joke one by one before silencing. Doyoung clears his throat “I will be marrying Princess Y/N and merging our kingdoms into one.” It was nice to see his father smile, it was rare. This was good news and it seems like all is working out for the two of you. “Very well, how does next week sound?” He said, watching you two nod eagerly.
死
It’s been three hours since your vows have been exchanged, and you are now rocking a stone as large as your pupil on your wedding finger, while slowly being undressed by your husband. “Why is this thing so hard to take off,” He complained right as he gets the hang of it. Your lips molding with one another in perfect harmony. It's a slow process you want to enjoy, but most of all you want to pleasure your new husband. A gasp escapes your mouth feeling Doyoung gently lifts his hands up to palm your clothed core, the gentle rubbing before going underneath the thin material to your glistening folds. He hushed your with kiss going down your torso, til he reached right above your core. In a blink of an eye, you see yourself nude and legs sprawled out with Doyoung’s face between your legs. Licking a stripe between your folds, sucking gently on your clit. “So wet...” He murmurs under his breath, before diving in. If you thought your first time with Doyoung was hectic, you’re in for it tonight. Now hands tied behind your back by your own wedding veil you stuff your head into the pillow, screaming his name. “Oh my god! Oh my god! R-Right there! Harder!” You cry, curling your toes ass he thrusts into your core. Your hair bunched up into Doyoung’s fist, keeping you two steady as he penetrates into you. Coming close to your orgasm you arch your back in anticipation; this doesn’t go unnoticed. Doyoung comes forth, hot breath and groans loud and clear in your ear. Reaching down he finds your bud and rubs harshly onto it, feeling you clench around his length. A squeal leaves your mouth, “I’m cumming!” You cried, digging your face in the pillow. Just when you felt yourself relaxing into the pillow, you feel a hot liquid coat your pink walls and Doyoung pulling out
死
The sound of the kids playing rings in the background as you sip on a cup of coffee your husband, Doyoung brewed earlier this morning. He comes to sit beside you on the abandoned bench in the forest, memories flooding off our many escapes to this very bench as kids. His hand reaches to caress your pregnant belly. “Number three.” He said playfully as you slap his hand away, “His name is Taehyun, not Number three.” He chuckles, “A beautiful name from his beautiful mother.” Doyoung says, gently raking his fingers through your long locks of hair. “I love you so much,” He whispers, bringing his hand to your cheek before kissing the top of your nose. “I love you too I guess,” You shrug, covering your grin with the book you held. “Youjin and Minhyun are still in the garden, shall we go in...” His eyes trail the vicinity, before catching your kids who were sitting in a field of flowers. “Min! Jin! Me and your mother are going to head inside for a snack! Stay close!” He shouts over the kids who just send him a thumbs up. Eagerly, Doyoung stood up grabbing your hand pulling you gently towards the castle. “What a child,” You mumble before heading in.

Princess ~ Jay Halstead
This was requested by @somthingrandomhere Back in April, it’s now July (oops!) but here it is!! I’m sorry it took so long and it’s not the best but I hope you enjoy!!
Jay couldn’t help but smile as he and Adam walked through the theme park, children and families of all shapes and sizes laughing and smiling as they enjoyed their holiday. Children running up to their most loved characters, eyes wide with the biggest grins that he had ever seen.
“So what exactly are we looking for?” Adam asked as his eyes scanned the crowd, subtly taking a quick once over as one of the princesses caught his eye.
“Six foot, tanned skin, dark hair and one of the witnesses said he was wearing a blue cap with those mickey ears.” Jay recalled without taking his eyes off of the crowds around him, eager to find the guy that had been stalking the princess actors around the park, taking pictures of them and sending them to themselves the next day.
“What exactly is this guys problem anyway? Why the pictures?” Adam mumbled to himself, knowing that while it did scare the girls involved there was no evidence that any physical harm had been done, or even planned.
“I dunno man, guess he gets a kick out of scaring girls.” Jay shrugged, his eyes narrowing as they landed on a guy that fit the description, standing at the back of a small crowd that surrounded a Belle. “Ruzek, over by Belle.” He mumbled, casually nodding his head in the general direction.
“Boss, we got a guy matching the descriptions in the far right hand side, he’s watching one of the girls.” Adam spoke into his phone, Voight’s voice on the other end telling them to get the girl away without drawing so much attention, without blowing their op.
“Let’s go get ourselves a princess.” Adam grinned making Jay chuckle as they approached.
——
“Well don’t you look gorgeous.” I grinned as I crouched down to the little girl infront of me, no more than six years old, her hair rested over her shoulders in two long plaits while she wore the signature Anna dress. “I believe your spot is on the other side of the park princess Anna.” I winked as she grinned up at me, the missing front tooth making me ‘awwh’ mentally.
“I’m not the real Anna! My names Amy!” She giggled.
“Oh! Silly me!” I sighed dramatically, the smile never leaving my face. “Princess Amy it is a pleasure to meet you!” I grinned bending my knees in a courtesy as I bowed my head to her.
Pulling her into my side we both smiled wide as our picture was taken, Amy’s parents were stood watching with proud grins on their faces. I smiled over at them as I stood up and took Amy’s hand in my own.
“Your Royal Heignesses, here is your princess.” I bowed slightly as I let go of Amy’s hand. “I will see you soon Princess, enjoy the rest of your day!” I grinned before making my way back to the front of the long queue of children.
As I got back to my spot I noticed two officers stood just off to the side watching me with small smiles on their faces, I knew why they was there, we’d been told all about the guy that had been stalking other girls back to their homes and taking pictures of them, we already knew that there was police patrolling the park.
“Excuse me Princess?” The taller of the two stepped forwards, the children’s eyes going wide as they looked up at him.
“How may I be of assistance?” I asked, staying in the princess role.
“We need to Uh, have a talk about, uhm.” He stuttered, his eyes floating over the disappointed faces of the children in front of him.
“We just need you to approve of the new tableware that the Beast has purchased, Princess.” The other guy stepped forwards, his blue eyes watching me nervously as he bowed slightly making me smile.
“Oh of course!” I grinned before looking over at the children. “These are the beasts best knights, I’m so sorry my Princesses and Princes but im going to have to sort this out, the beast isn’t very good at this.” I stage whispered making them laugh. “I’ll be back as soon as I can, I promise.” I smiled apologetically at them and their parents before following the two officers into one of the staff buildings.
“I’m Detective Jay Halstead and this is Officer Adam Ruzek, we’re from Chicago PD.” The smaller one introduced with a smile.
“Y/N.” I smiled.
“We’re sorry to pull you away like that but our suspect was in the area.” Adam smiled apologetically.
“It’s fine, but shouldn’t you be out there catching the bad guy.” I asked.
“Our team is already on it.” Jay smiled at me, my heart fluttering as he did, he really was gorgeous.
The sound of muffled talking caught my attention confusing me until Adam pulled out a radio from his pocket.
“I’m on my way.” Adam spoke into the radio before looking over at me and Jay. “Guys done a runner, stay with her.” He said to Adam offering me a smile before he quickly left the building.
“Water?” I offered as I went over to the fridge sitting in the back corner, pulling one out for myself after he declined.
“So how long have you been doing this?” Jay asked as we took a seat opposite one another at one of the tables.
“A few months, not the career I’d imagined but I do love it.” I smiled fondly.
“You are beautiful.” He mumbled before his eyes went wide. “I mean uh, you make a beautiful belle.” He said quickly making me giggle, a slight blush rising to my cheeks at his words.
“What about you? How long have you been a cop?” I asked taking a sip from my water.
“A few years, I was in the army and when I left I still felt the need to help people so, here I am.” He shrugged with a smile.
“A real life hero huh.” I smirked making him chuckle slightly.
“Something like that.” He smirked back, a few seconds of silence fell over us until a rustle from the back room caught his attention. “Anyone else in here?” He asked quietly, his eyes watching the door to the back room.
“There shouldn’t be, the only person who uses this place is me and the other Belle’s.” I said quietly, my nerves rising.
“Any other way in?” He asked as he slowly stood up with his hand on the gun that rested on his hip.
“There’s a door round the back that leads into that room.” I mumbled, nodding towards the room where the noise was coming from.
Nodding his head he quickly spoke into his radio that there was someone else in the room before slowly and quietly creeping over to get door. I watched as he took a deep breath before throwing the door open only to be tackled to the ground by a guy that was slightly taller than he was, but in the muscles department was clearly slacking compared to Jay.
I let out a loud gasp as the man swung his fist into Jay’s side making him groan out in pain, before he quickly started to fight back, the two of them rolling on the floor until the unknown man got the upper hand, pinning Jay to the ground with his hands around his throat with his back towards me. Without thinking I quickly stood up and grabbed one of the metal chairs quietly making my way over I raised the chair above my head and slammed it down onto the guys back with as much strength as I could muster. He groaned at the impact and fell to the side in shock, he was grown of long enough for Jay to grab the gun from the floor and jump to his feet pointing it down at the man.
“Chicago PD, you move I shoot!” He yelled kicking his back to get him to lay on the floor just as Adam and two other officers burst threw the back door with their guns raised.
“Good job Halstead.” The blonde woman grinned rushing over and cuffing the guy who was still laid on the floor groaning in pain.
“Wasn’t me.” Jay shrugged with a smile as he looked over at me with a twinkle in his eye, making me blush.
“You did this?” The older guy that had just came in asked with raised eyebrows as his eyes moved from the chair lying on the ground, to the suspect, to me.
“Guilty.” I smiled nervously, relaxing as he chuckled.
“Good job Princess.” He chuckled to himself. “Sargent Voight.” He introduced himself holding his hand out towards me.
“Y/N, or Belle.” I laughed reaching out and shaking his outstretched hand.
“You know, Belle has always been my favourite.” The woman smiled as she walked over to me leaving Adam and Voight to haul the guy in cuffs away. “I’m Hailey by the way.”
“Want a picture?” I asked with a smile, knowing that the adults who came to the park were just as excited to have their pictures taken with their childhood favourites just as much as their own children.
“Yes, yes, yes.” She grinned quickly pulling out her phone and practically throwing it at Jay as she rushed over and stood beside me. “Thank you so much!” She grinned after seeing the picture Jay had taken. “I’m gunna go catch up with Voight, I’ll see you there.” She smiled at Jay before giving me a hug then leaving.
“You know, if this princess thing doesn’t work or you’d be a great cop, or wrestler.” Jay smirked making me laugh. “Seriously, that was pretty badass.” He smiled as he stood in front of me.
“I may be a Princess Mr Halstead, but I’m not a damsel in distress.” I winked with a laugh, our eyes making eye contact.
We stood in silence for a few seconds, just looking at each other while a blush crept its way from my chest to my cheeks as his blue eyes sparkled.
“I might be completely out of order right now, but uh, would you maybe like to Uh, get a drink sometime, with me, I mean, ya know, if the beast doesn’t mind.” He stumbles over his words which made him approximately ten times cuter than he already was.
“I’d love to.” I smiled with a giggle as I reached into the hidden pocket on my dress and pulled out the booklet I used to give autographs to the children. I quickly scribbled my number and ripped the page out handing it over to him. “Gimme a call sometime Detective.” I smiled with a wink before making my way to the door.
“You got it, Princess.” He smirked with a nod, I offered him one final smile before I made my way back out to the park, the thought of seeing Jay again keeping the smile on my face for the rest of the day.

A3! Translation: Spring Troupe’s Interview From Documentary Book’s “Moment of Spring”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e1d8bb845dd704635e25c265bf6a00d4/bf28830b75f52bdf-9e/s540x810/e96bb00403e1c984c10dab93427458e7a4a5235b.jpg)
Translation under the cut.
First of all, while looking at the photos on the cover, please tell us what happened on the day you took them.
Sakuya: It was a frame of the Spring Troupe's spring!
Chikage: I wonder if Sakuya was holding Hina dolls in his photo.
Citron: Oh, I know that! Isn't that the thing that was born while chirping after you kept it warm for three days and three nights?
Tsuzuru: It's not that "Hina."
Itaru: It's a different Hina.
Masumi: ...These ugly Hina dolls are put in the theater lobby.
Sakuya: Wow, Masumi-kun! You sure have a sharp eye.
Masumi: It’s because Director and I helped decorate them there.
Sakuya: Oh, I see. To tell you the truth, it was all due to Manager saying that the theater lobby felt kind of empty. And given that it's March, we decided to decorate the lobby with Hina Festival-themed items.
Tsuzuru: Not to mention that a lot of the audience members are girls.
Chikage: The Masumi in this photo… Was he about to give a present to Director?
Itaru: That expression is exclusive for Director only. He's so easy to read.
Tsuzuru: If I remember correctly, this was taken during White Day. I remember seeing him grinning ear to ear while staring at the present in our room.
Masumi: I was imagining Director's reaction after I gave her that present. I was sure she'd be surprised but at the same time so happy she couldn't stop laughing… Then, she'd blissfully say, "Thank you. I'll treasure it."
Itaru: Surprised but so happy she couldn't stop laughing?
Citron: Now I'm curious about what your present is!
Sakuya: So was she happy about the present?
Masumi: Not telling. It was a memory that only me and Director share.
Citron: Aw, Masumi is a cheapskate~.
Sakuya: Meanwhile… things seemed to be lively in Tsuzuru-kun's photo!
Tsuzuru: My brothers started fighting when I was making sakura mochi for our cherry blossom viewing. I know I should've just left them be since they're always fighting, but… I couldn't help but speak out.
Chikage: You're truly a natural born big brother, handling this kind of thing by reflexes.
Citron: Is that a carnation you were holding, Itaru?
Masumi: For mother's day?
Itaru: Yep. I was planning to buy flowers and stop by my home. My sister apparently predicted this and asked me to buy her sweets. I was talking to her in the photo. They're all very popular stores that can have people waiting in line. But well, they have pretty tolerable prices…
Masumi: Looking at your expression, you should have found some excuses to refuse her.
Itaru: You could say that because you don't how my sister is when she's mad…
Citron: I want to meet Itaru's rumored sister one day!
Masumi: ...Citron's pose looked weird in this one.
Sakuya: Whoa, the bamboo shoots are big!
Citron: I call it, "ever-growing bamboo shoots" pose~. The greengrocer uncle from the shopping district gave those fine bamboo shoots to me!
Tsuzuru: You really are the idol of the shopping district… As long as Citron-san is here, looks like we don't need to worry about hunger issue. It's already been taken care of without us knowing.
Itaru: Last one is senpai… Huh? Is it really okay to have your photo like this? You were in the middle of doing some dangerous side jobs in this one, right?
Chikage: What do you take me for? As you can see, I was making a helmet with origami.
Masumi: I saw this helmet in the theater lobby. It was so symmetrical and terrifyingly well-made.
Tsuzuru: It felt like that helmet brought out Chikage-san's personality.
Citron: We all were enjoying spring and taking a very blissful shot!
Sakuya: That's right! Spring is indeed such a lovely season!
Then, as we looked back at your plays up until the sixth one, please tell us an event that left the most impression on you.
Citron: It would take forever, you know! We have a loooot of memories together, though I think the turning point of Spring Troupe was during our debut and fourth play.
Tsuzuru: During our debut play, we were all still beginners in theater and were still figuring out everything. Chikage-san joined us during our fourth play and we became a six-member group… I've gotta admit we underwent a major change as a troupe that time.
Sakuya: In addition, it was during the preparation for these two plays that we slept on the stage together!
Tsuzuru: The first time we did it was because Yuzo-san roasted us so bad, so we decided to sleep onstage to understand the play better. During our fourth play, we already invited Chikage-san but since he had work to do, we couldn't do it...
Masumi: But when we headed to the theater for our morning practice, these two were sleeping. Thus, I slept too.
Itaru: We were so noisy at that time so I figured you'd wake up soon, but… you sure slept like a log, huh, senpai?
Chikage: I still woke up in the end since your snoring was too loud, though.
Itaru: Seriously?
Masumi: You do look like the type who snores loudly.
Chikage: Joking aside… back then, I was surprised when I woke up and found you all there.
Citron: Oh, so our prank was a big success in the end! I wanna throw another slumber party with you all~.
Sakuya: Me too! I want to chat about a lot of things with you all!
Masumi: About love?
Itaru: I have a feeling Masumi's gonna monopolize that talk.
Tsuzuru: Heck yeah…
Chikage: That sounds fun. Why not?
Now that all of you have experienced becoming the leading actors, please tell us what kind of roles or performance you want to have.
Chikage: Since we have Tsuzuru here, it wouldn't hurt to say whatever we want, right?
Tsuzuru: You have a point, and it can also be a motivation to act. For the time being, I'd like to hear what you want to do...
Citron: In that case, I wanna appear in a Japanese style play!
Itaru: ...Ah, in that case, don't you think adding fantasy element to the play will be cool? Like a youkai-themed play.
Tsuzuru: Some amazing suggestions came right at the very beginning… But well, given that we rarely deliver a Japanese style play, I think it may turn good.
Masumi: Then, I want to take on a knight role. Obviously, the one playing the princess will be--.
Tsuzuru: Since we already have KniRoun that had similar sense, I don't think we'll do that now.
Masumi: If so--.
Tsuzuru: Not a bridegroom role. If we're going to do a play set at a wedding hall, then we'll also have one of Spring Troupe members crossdress to play the bride.
Chikage: Tsuzuru crossdressing, huh… That's kind of new.
Sakuya: It may fit him, surprisingly.
Tsuzuru: Why me!? I'm banning you all from raising random flags!
Citron: Do you have any roles you want to play, Chikage?
Chikage: A role I want to play, huh Since I've only performed three plays at the moment, there's nothing in particular.
Itaru: How about taking a non-glasses character once more? All of your characters are wearing glasses except Gawain.
Masumi: Playing a glasses character once per two plays?
Sakuya: But I feel like Chikage-san can pull of any kind of characters!
Tsuzuru: Well, yeah. Since you're good at stage combat… I think giving you another role with lots of action will be a great idea.
Chikage: Exercising is one of my fortes, so I'll do my best if you give me one. How about you, Sakuya?
Sakuya: ...It's not really a role, but I want to deliver a play with everyone in the theater troupe someday!
Itaru: That means the main cast will consist of 24 people.
Citron: Oh, it sounds very fun! I want to do it too!
Masumi: I support that idea. That way, we'll have less lines. Tsuzuru will probably die, though.
Itaru: That'll be Tsuzuru's posthumous work…
Tsuzuru: Please stop saying things that will bring bad luck like that! I do admit I feel like the Sanzu River comes into view, though! ...But well, I want to do that too one day. I have a feeling I can write a piece that I've never written until this day.
Sakuya: Whoa… I'm already looking forward to see what kind of characters and story that you'll come up with!
Chikage: So can I expect this piece to be your masterpiece?
Itaru: This'll be a piece that continues to be handed down in Japan's theater industry.
Citron: Non, non! It'll be a piece that easily sweeps the top categories at International Theater Awards.
Tsuzuru: H-Hey, I haven't even started writing it! Please stop raising the bar!
I'd also like to ask about your personal stories. Given that this book is dedicated to "Moments of Spring Troupe", can you tell us what kind of thing that is currently popular within your troupe?
Itaru: If I have to choose, I think it's Zahra's board game--the one that Prince Tangerine gave us as a souvenir during the sixth play.
Masumi: The game requires each of us to cultivate the uninhabited islands in Zahra, develop it and do some tradings.
Sakuya: The player with the most territories will be declared the winner at the end of the game! The game is so interesting that it has become our daily routine to play it once we're done with rehearsals!
Citron: I'm glad that everyone is enjoying the game! I also have a game that I'd like to recommend to you all, you see! I'll have Guy get it next time!
Chikage: Last time I checked there's also a game in which you become a spices merchant and get rich, right? I'm a little bit curious about that one.
Tsuzuru: No, I don't think the Zahra Kingdom has that kind of ga--.
Citron: I expected no less from Chikage! You even know that game! OK, I'll have them send that too!
Itaru: Wow, it does exist…
Last but not least, please send a message to the fans who are always supporting Spring Troupe.
Sakuya: On behalf of Spring Troupe… I'd like to thank you all for always supporting us! Before we knew it, we already held six plays. It was all thanks to your support that we were able to deliver this number of plays. Even if it's only one, we'll be happy if you have scenes or lines from our plays that are unforgettable to you. For our next play, we promise to give everything we can to deliver a beautiful performance to you all. Therefore--
Spring Troupe: Thank you for your continuous support!

In honor of May 4th and the original movie that started it all, the group reviewed Star Wars (1977). Nominated for 10 Academy Awards and winning 6 with one extra special achievement award for Sound, this is perhaps the most highly decorated science fiction movie of all time. The special effects and the music were especially moving making the Star Wars experience something amazing to behold. I was lucky enough to see one of the re-releases in the theatre back in the mid 80s. In fact, I might well have seen the film 100 times over my life. The music might be the most well known soundtrack globally. With inflation, this is the 4th highest grossing film of all time. It is truly a fantastic work and I would like to now spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it. Let me start with the usual:
SPOILER WARNING!!! I DON'T THINK THERE ARE MANY WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM, BUT FOR THOSE FEW THAT DON'T KNOW, I AM GOING TO RUIN THE PLOT!!! STOP NOW AND GO WATCH IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amid a galactic civil war, Rebel Alliance spies have stolen plans to the Galactic Empire's Death Star, a massive space station capable of destroying an entire planet. Imperial Senator Princess Leia of Alderaan (Carrie Fisher), secretly one of the Rebellion's leaders, has obtained its schematics (this entire effort was originally a throwaway concept but was completely fleshed out in Rogue One almost 40 years later) , but her starship is intercepted by an Imperial Star Destroyer under the command of the ruthless Darth Vader (acted by David Prowse and voiced by James Earl Jones). The movie is just starting and the odds against the rebels are shown by the scale of the two ships. Before she is captured, Leia hides the plans in the memory of an astromech droid called R2-D2 (Kenny Baker), who flees in an escape pod to the desert planet Tatooine accompanied by protocol droid C-3PO (Anthony Daniels).
The droids are captured by Jawa traders (little shiny eyed beings who are now meme legends), who sell them to moisture farmers Owen and Beru Lars and their nephew Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). While Luke is cleaning R2-D2, part of a holographic recording of Leia starts playing a message for Obi-Wan Kenobi where she requests his help ("Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!"). Later, after Luke finds R2-D2 missing, he is attacked by scavenging Sand People while searching for him, but is rescued by elderly hermit "Old Ben" Kenobi (Sir Alec Guinness), an acquaintance of Luke's, who reveals that "Obi-Wan" is his true name. Obi-Wan tells Luke of his days as one of the Jedi Knights, the former peacekeepers of the Galactic Republic who drew mystical abilities from a metaphysical energy field known as "the Force", but were ultimately hunted to near-extinction by the Empire. Luke learns that his father fought alongside Obi-Wan as a Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars (another throwaway concept that was eventually fleshed out) until Vader, Obi-Wan's former pupil, turned to the dark side of the Force and murdered him. Obi-Wan presents Luke with his father's old lightsaber, the signature weapon of Jedi Knights. The connection between Darth Vader and Luke's father is explored in depth during the next eight films.
R2-D2 plays Leia's full message, in which she begs Obi-Wan to take the Death Star plans to her home planet of Alderaan and give them to her father, a fellow veteran, for analysis. Although Luke initially declines Obi-Wan's offer to accompany him to Alderaan and learn the ways of the Force, he is left with no choice after discovering that Imperial stormtroopers have killed his aunt and uncle and destroyed their farm in their search for the droids (cue the Academy and Grammy Award winning theme music composed by John Williams). Traveling to a cantina in Mos Eisley to search for transport, Luke and Obi-Wan hire Han Solo (Harrison Ford), a smuggler with a price on his head due to his debt to local mobster Jabba the Hutt. Pursued by stormtroopers, Obi-Wan, Luke, R2-D2 and C-3PO flee Tatooine with Han and his Wookiee co-pilot Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) on their ship the Millennium Falcon. As they reach the planet's orbit, two Star Destroyers try to intercept them, but Han is able to jump to hyperspace by reaching lightspeed.
Before the Falcon can reach Alderaan, Death Star commander Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) interrogates Leia about the location of the Rebels's secret base, with the threat of destroying her home planet, and, when she answers that the base is on Dantooine, he orders Alderaan destroyed simply as a show of force. As the group arrives in the asteroid field that now stands in place of Alderaan, Han spots an Imperial TIE fighter and is taunted into chasing it and shooting it down, allowing the Falcon to be captured by the space station's tractor beam. Inside the Death Star, Obi-Wan attempts to disable the tractor beam, and Luke persuades Han and Chewbacca to help him rescue Leia after discovering that she is scheduled to be executed. After disabling the tractor beam, Obi-Wan sacrifices his life in an epic lightsaber duel with Vader, allowing the rest of the group to escape the Death Star with Leia. Using a tracking device, the Empire tracks the Falcon to the hidden Rebel base.
Leia's schematics reveal a hidden weakness in the Death Star's thermal exhaust port, which could allow the Rebels to trigger a chain reaction in its main reactor with a precise torpedo strike. While Han abandons the Rebels after collecting his reward for rescuing Leia, Luke joins their starfighter squadron in a desperate attack against the approaching Death Star. In the ensuing battle, the Rebels suffer heavy losses as Vader leads a squadron of TIE fighters against them, but Han unexpectedly returns to aid them in the Falcon, narrowly managing to save Luke before Vader can shoot him down. Guided by the disembodied voice of Obi-Wan's spirit, Luke turns off his targeting computer and uses the Force to aim his torpedoes into the exhaust port, destroying the Death Star moments before it fires on the Rebel base. In a triumphant ceremony at the base, Leia awards Luke and Han medals for their heroism.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I want to explain the connection between this movie and the Joseph Campbell version of the hero's journey that so many people have pointed out. This journey starts out with a call to adventure that is refused and then forced (Luke is given an opportunity to leave, he declines, the death of his family pushes him forward, he leaves with his team). Campbell then predicts an initiation that involves meeting a woman and gaining weapons, a meeting with an incredible power, and an achievement of the hero's power (goes to star destroyer, meets Vader and loses Obi-Wan, gains power over force). The story ends with a refusal, a magic flight, a rescue from without, and a hero's return (Luke goes to attack the Death Star, Han refuses and then eventually saves him, and the day is saved so the heroes are rewarded). It is a story that is called the Monomyth and has been recognized in Greek myths that are thousands of years old. It is a good story that has been proven to work and it makes for one of the most enjoyable movies of all time.
There was some negative opinions of the film because it is such a simple old story that became extremely popular and film goers would no longer be interested in intelligent thinking movies. It is kind of the truth because blockbuster summer films are full of explosions. The highest grossing films since then have tended to be highly explosive action films. Films like Star Wars, Jaws, and Indiana Jones are a lot of fun, but they are not super deep. They are easy to understand at surface level, but they can also be interpreted to mean much more significant things. The choice of the viewer about whether the story has deep inner meaning or is just the Odyssey in space is personal and likely colors opinions about how good it is. Some people think it is stupid fun while others have actually formed religions around the idea of the force.
One thing is for certain, the formula worked amazingly well for a large group of people and this made movie producers want to copy it. This is what is generally called a watershed moment because the look of movies changed significantly. There were so many more space operas and they all had that worn post-apocalyptic look to them. Star Wars and Mad Max combined to give a different look of what futuristic was. There was advanced tech in some cases, but there was a scorched Earth that had run out of resources and people suffered. Think about how many movies and television shows there are that have come out since the 80s and combine industrial tech for space and distressed almost Western appearances for the planets. The movie changed the way many people see the future.
One thing that is inarguably great was the score. I am not going to try and describe it with words, I am just going to put links to the different themes here so you can hear for yourself:
Star Wars Main Theme (Full) - YouTube
Star Wars- The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme) - YouTube
Princess Leia's Theme - YouTube
Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope (1977) Soundtrack 11 Cantina Band - YouTube
This is somewhat strange for the AFI so I went back and checked, but I believe that this is the only film with a ranked villain (Darth Vader), hero (Han Solo), and theme song (Main Theme). Even if it is somewhat simplistic from some perspectives, the story and the songs and the sounds and the characters speak to those who watch it. Seeing the movie is an incredible experience and I envy those who get to see it for the first time.
I am a big fan of the original Star Wars trilogy and I could completely nerd out going over all of the little things throughout the movie, but this is not a deep dive but instead an overall review. So does it belong on the AFI top 100? Maybe more than any other movie. It is an epic tale that changed the way movies were made across multiple genres. We could probably look at all science fiction films and put them as before or after this one. It is an important piece of American film and (no matter what anyone thinks of the other Star Wars films or George Lucas) it is a masterpiece. Would I recommend it? I cannot say yes enough. It is part of my culture as a California movie nerd and understanding this film is understanding some of the basic knowledge I grew up with. All sticks are swung around like light sabers. If I say "Princess Leia hair," everyone around here knows exactly what I mean. If something is impossible but still needs to be done, we tell people to use the force. I have lived in the Bay Area for 20 years and I can still reference a location by how close it is to Skywalker Ranch were George Lucas worked on movies. Please check out this film and you will know why I am such a fan of movies.

Warnings: sexual themes (literally a woman named Pussy), violence, death
Featured Song: Licence to Kill by Gladys Knight from Licence to Kill (1989)
~ “Got a licence to kill and you know I’m going straight for your heart”
~~~
“Touch the stereo one more time and I’ll shoot you in the dick.”
Your grumbling threat seemed to resonate with Harrison as he dropped his hand from reaching to change your music again. He let out a long sigh; this drive from the Monaco airport to the hotel felt like such a long one. He hated old music, and yet all you seemed to want to listen to in the car was Nancy Sinatra- it’s like you only knew songs from the 1960’s. If it wasn’t for the urgency of this mission and the fact that he was in such an incredible car, he probably would have jumped out by now.
“You are awfully fascinated with my dick.” Harrison stated, a small smirk playing on his lips. You adjusted your white retro sunglasses on your face, shaking your head at him.
“Hardly.” You scoffed, “It’s your biggest weakness, so it’s quite easy to threaten, especially when shooting your dick off means I can hurt that delicate ego of yours.”
“Ouch, darling, you might actually hurt me there.” He feigned offense at your words. “If my biggest weakness is my dick, then what’s yours, sweetheart?”
“How many times must I tell you not to call me darling or sweetheart or angel or doll or any other pet name that rolls off your tongue?” You replied, ignoring his question completely.
“Not enough, angel. It’s so easy to get you bothered by a simple pet name.”
“I’m an agent. I’m not your pet.”
“Ah, but according to the hotel room, you’re my wife, Y/N.” Harrison teased. He watched as your jaw clenched, hearing your real name fall from his mouth for the first time. “Did you think I wouldn’t know your real name? Don’t act like you didn’t do any digging on me.”
“I didn’t need to. All of MI6 knows how much of an arrogant ass you are.” You stated, pulling the car into the hotel’s parking lot. “Your list of women extends much farther than your list of kills.”
“I bet you’d love to be added to the first list.” He smirked, placing a hand on your knee. You glared at him as you removed his hand.
“In your dreams, Osterfield.” You said lowly before getting out of the car, smiling at the valet. Harrison exited the DB10 after you, straightening out his suit as he did so.
“Let me get the bags, love.” Harrison told you, opening the trunk of the car to get out all of the luggage, which most of it consisted of weapons and money from MI6. As the two of you stood in the lobby, waiting to check in to the new room, you cuddled into Harrison’s figure, wrapping a hand around his neck as you spoke quietly in his ear.
“You’ll be added to my list, too if you’re not more careful with that tongue.” You threatened, voice just above a whisper. Your perfectly manicured fingers traced over the breast pocket on his suit, and you felt his heart race under you. Your threat was a very real one, but Harrison couldn’t help the shiver that made its way down his spine at the sultriness of your voice.
Still, he put on his charm as he looked at you in his arms. Just as smoothly as you had spoken, he answered, “I hope that’s your first list, Y/N.”
~~~
“Martini. Shaken, not stirred.” Harrison told the bartender at the Monte Carlo casino that night. He adjusted his suit jacket as he leaned against the bar, waiting on his drink.
Ever since you two arrived at the hotel, you managed to ignore his presence completely. The hotel room had two queen size beds, extravagantly decorated and fit for two of Britain’s best agents. You were an incredibly curious case to him, you were an enigma. Something about you made him want to know everything about you. He found your resistance to his flirtatious advances especially alluring. He was starting to understand how you were an infamous seductress- you put the womanizer himself to shame.
“If you’re going to drink while working, you might as well go for something better than a martini.” You stated, your voice echoing in the comms piece in his ear. Harrison smirked to himself a little.
“Finally joining the party, princess?” He joked as his drink arrived. Since your task tonight was to flirt your way into Sciarra’s world, you had decided it’d be best for you and Harrison to arrive alone, which meant he had to have a chauffeur in a BMW while you drove the Aston Martin.
“Why, yes, I am.” You replied. Harrison lifted his martini glass to his lips and he casually looked around the busy casino. His eyes instantly caught on your figure as you wore a floor-length silk dress. The red material clung to you in all the right places with a slit that ran up to your upper thigh; your cleavage on view just enough to keep him wondering where you hid your weapons. He already knew your sleek black stilettos were made of steel and, most likely, had knife compartments- one of Q’s specialities for non-technology based weapons. You smirked, seeing Harrison’s blue eyes scanning over your dress, and you turned to place a gamble on a game, giving him the optimal view of the backless feature of the dress, the cut out dipping dangerously low.
“I don’t think that dress is inconspicuous enough.” He said after a moment. He slowly sipped on his martini, his throat feeling dry as his eyes couldn’t leave your figure.
“As if I care about what you think of my dress.” You answered, “Besides, the plan is to get Sciarra alone. Just watch my back, and stay focused.”
“Trust me, with you looking like that, beautiful, I’ll have no problem watching your back.” It was his turn to smirk, as you gave him the side-eye across the casino.
“Keep it in your pants, Osterfield.”
Spotting Sciarra at a craps table, you casually made your way over. You stood opposite of him, peering at the table below you. You gently leaned against it, allowing for your dress to shift slightly- and just like that, Sciarra made his way over to you. M was right- he was nothing short of a sleazy adulterer.
“Give me a blow?” He asked, holding up the die to you. You smiled, blowing on them for good luck. His eyes stayed on you as he rolled the die, far more invested in you now than his gambling. “Do you play?”
“No, but I enjoy-” You paused, your eyes trailing him up and down, “the views much more than the game itself.”
Across the casino, Harrison got himself a second martini and stood from his seat. He made his way over to the craps table to watch the game in progress while still keeping an eye on you as you flirted with Sciarra. His fingers trailed along the glass, looking around the table. Almost every single man had eyes on you, but your eyes stayed firmly on Sciarra, giving him your undivided attention. Something twisted in Harrison as he watched Sciarra run a hand down your bare arm before resting the hand on your bare back and, by the looks of it, his hand was far too low for Harrison’s liking. And not only did he have to watch that, but also heard each word passed between you and Sciarra through the mic.
“Casinos really bring out the sleaziness of some men.” Harrison heard a velvety voice speak teasingly from behind him. His blue eyes left your figure, and he looked at the woman now standing beside him. You were definitely the most attractive woman here, but this woman was a close second in an incredibly fitting gold dress. Her blond hair framed her face perfectly and, with the casino lights in the room, it almost looked golden.
“Hope I’m not included in that.” He chuckled, watching as her eyes flickered between each of the men around the table before landing on him.
“I said some.” The woman said with a soft laugh, showing off her pearly white teeth. “I noticed you when you walked in. You came alone, and with no wedding ring print on your finger- you must be a good one.”
“You’re observant, miss-?” Harrison trailed off, waiting for her to introduce herself.
“My name is Pussy Galore.” She replied, and Harrison could’ve sworn he saw you hold back a snicker across the table.
“I must be dreaming.” He smirked.
“And you, handsome?” She asked, a hand trailing along the buttons of his white shirt. His eyes flickered over to you, seeing you and Sciarra move to a reserved table for drinks; you were close to getting him alone, and that meant you’d need Harrison’s help soon. You discreetly removed the mic from your ear, not wanting to hear Harrison talk to the other woman any longer.
“The name’s Osterfield. Harrison Osterfield.”
He continued to flirt with the gorgeous woman as the casino bustled on around them. Miss Galore, as he respectfully mentally referred to her, spoke up after a few minutes, “Excuse me while I go freshen up.”
Before he could say anything else to her, she left. His eyes wandered back over to you and he noticed how close Sciarra was to your side as the dealer talked to his henchman across the table, but you weren’t flirting; no, Harrison could see the familiar fear in your eyes, the fear of a gun being held against your skin.
Out of instinct, he reached for his gun in his suit jacket. His fingers came in contact with the cool metal, and he watched as you quickly slammed your heel into Sciarra’s foot, just as you had done to Harrison in the parking lot, and kicked up the table, smacking his henchman in the face with the hardwood. Harrison drew his gun as you snatched Sciarra’s. The two of you ducked for cover behind a couple of turned tables from his henchmen’s bullets. The crowd at the casino screamed, everyone running in their expensive suits and designer dresses out of the casino.
“We can’t let Sciarra get away.” You told Harrison.
“Yeah, working on it.” He replied, getting up from his spot to fight one of the other men since he was now out of bullets. But the other man was ridiculously built, definitely used for the muscle, and he easily flipped Harrison onto a table, shattering the wood as he groaned. Picking up a couple large pieces of wood, he did his best to fight the bigger man, even stabbing him the leg to gain a little leverage.
Meanwhile, you ripped off your shoes, activating the knife part of the stiletto. Expertly, you threw one at Sciarra as he tried to escape, pinning his arm to the wall with the knife caught on his suit sleeve. You threw your other stiletto at the bigger man fighting Harrison, the knife landing mere inches from your partner’s face and in the opponent’s heart.
“Thanks for the head’s up.” Harrison stated in disbelief that you had gotten that close to hitting him with a knife.
“I just saved you from ruining another table. Are you happy?” You questioned, shooting another guard down with the golden gun you stole from Sciarra.
Harrison dove into fighting with another henchman, and you watched as a couple of men led Sciarra from the scene. Before you could step out from behind your table, someone came up behind you, grabbing your hands in his, effectively making you drop your gun. You cursed your barefootedness, unable to get a good grip to fight the taller man. As you attempted to kick his legs, he swiftly grabbed your throat, and a bullet went whizzing by your head, hitting him dead in the eye. You looked over at Harrison while he went running for the casino door.
“You can give me shit for almost shooting you later. He’s getting away.” Harrison urged you. You abandoned your gun and chased after him, just mere steps behind him.
“No, no-“ You started to shout as Harrison jumped into the driver’s seat of the Aston Martin.
“C’mon, love, no time to argue.” He said, but he was grinning like a little kid. You groaned in frustration, getting into the passenger’s seat and the car took off, speeding after Sciarra’s car. Harrison kept his eyes trained on the black Jaguar while you dug through the glove compartment. You smiled, finding an extra mag in there.
“How are you going to shoot bullets without a gun? And why is that mag so small?” Harrison asked. You laughed, slipping a hand under the slit in your dress to your inner thigh and pulling out a small gun from your hidden thigh holster that fit the mag perfectly. It wasn’t the ideal place for you to hide it, but the dress was so revealing, you really had no other choice. His eyes went wide, and the car swerved a bit.
“What? Did you think I didn’t have a gun on me?” You quirked an eyebrow at him, loading the gun and cocking it proudly. You didn’t want to hide your gun there, but seeing Harrison momentarily flustered by it was definitely a plus.
“Have I ever told you I’ll do anything for a girl in a gun?” He smirked, recovering smoothly, and you rolled your eyes at him.
“Well you’re pretty awful at following my orders, so I don’t believe you.” You replied, rolling down the window, “Keep her steady.”
“That’s the plan.” Harrison replied, keeping his focus on the car as you shot at Sciarra’s Jaguar. You would’ve hit the tire, but Harrison swerved the car and Sciarra’s men started to fire back at you two.
Cursing, you sat back in the car, rolling up the bulletproof window. You pressed a couple buttons on the center console, accessing the DB10’s machine gun controls. As Harrison attempted to dodge the oncoming cars and maneuver a way closer to the Jaguar, you aimed for the tires.
“You’re an awful driver.” You stated, missing a couple shots from Harrison’s unsteady.
“I’d like to see you do better.” He chuckled, taking a sharp turn to follow the black car ahead. Finally on a straight, you took the shot, clipping the Jaguar’s tire and sending the car flipping. Harrison haphazardly pulled the DB10 to a stop beside the wrecked car. You kept your gun at the ready as he went to drag Sciarra out of the wreck. One of the surviving henchmen shot at you and, instinctively, you fired back while Harrison tugged the weak Sciarra from the car.
“Where’s Goldfinger?” Harrison questioned, holding up the dealer by his blood-spattered collar. You took the opportunity to look in the car quickly. Spotting a gold flash drive on the floor, you snatched it up and returned to your partner’s side.
“I don’t know!” Sciarra shouted, seething in anger.
“Osterfield, not here.” You said. He looked at you, his blue eyes instantly catching your warning look. The sirens in the distance told you cops were approaching and having Sciarra so vulnerable and out in the open like this would definitely entice the sniper, whoever she was.
“How do we get to Goldfinger? This?” Harrison lifted up Sciarra’s hand to draw attention to the flashy silver ring on his finger. You held your gun steady as your partner walked, more so dragged, Sciarra back to your car.
“I don’t know him. He just pays me in bullions whenever I ship him weapons. I’ve never met the guy!” Sciarra attempted to defend himself as you opened the car door. “He’s only trying to kill me because-“
A loud gunshot went off and Sciarra fell limp in Harrison’s hand, blood spattering as the sniper shot him in the head. You and Harrison quickly moved to get in the car.
“Fucking snipers.” Harrison grumbled, throwing open the driver door and hopping inside. You were just a moment too slow, the sniper clipping your left arm as you got into the car. You applied pressure to your arm, trying to remain calm until you got back to the hotel room, where you knew you had the supplies to dig out the bullet. It wasn’t the first time you’d been shot before, but that didn’t mean it hurt any less.
“Did you get shot?” Harrison almost sounded worried as he raced the DB10 down the street, trying to create an untraceable path back to the hotel.
“No, my left arm is just cold.” You sarcastically said. “Yes, I got shot.”
“You can’t walk through a hotel with a bullet hole.”
“I know, genius.” You rolled your eyes, and he pulled up to the hotel. It was nice that Q had made the car bulletproof or else there would be plenty of evidence of the car chase you both were just a part of. Before the valet could come out to retrieve the car, Harrison shook off his suit jacket and draped it around your shoulders.
“Thank you.” You said quietly, and the two of you got out of the car. You kept your hand underneath the jacket and over your wound, and Harrison wrapped an arm around your shoulder, acting like he was just being a good guy helping out the cold girl.
Silently, you two made your way to the elevator, taking it up to your floor. Harrison held the hotel room door open for you, and you immediately went to the medical bag, fumbling through it to find the right supplies.
“Let me help.” He said, stepping beside you and helping you get out what Q so kindly named “the bullet hole kit” complete with the proper supplies for disinfecting and stitching. You sat on the bathroom counter as Harrison quietly worked on your arm.
“Ow!” You shouted, tensing while he tried to get the bullet out. “That hurts!”
“Stop moving, and it’ll hurt less.” He replied as if it was obvious. “Have you never been shot before?”
“Once. In the hip, but it was four years ago.” The room fell quiet as you waited for him to respond.
“I’ve never.” Harrison’s voice was just barely above a whisper. You inhaled a sharp breath as he finally removed the bullet. “What happened with yours?”
“I missed a
shot.” You said, and Harrison stepped back to look at you fully. His eyes filled with an unreadable emotion for you, perhaps pity that the best agent had missed.
“Well, did you shoot the bastard back?” He asked, bringing out the wipes to clean the bullet-free wound.
“Yeah.” And there was the silence again. You knew he wanted to ask what happened, why you had missed the shot, but the question never came.
That comfortable silence, save for a few grunts of pain on your part, lasted until after Harrison had stitched up your arm. His fingers gently traced over the pained area, “There.”
It wasn’t until he raised his head, his eyes reaching yours, that you realized just how intimately close you two were. Your lips parted as you tried to steady your breathing, feeling his hand fall to yours. His fingers lightly tapping against your own. You cleared your throat, leaning back away from him, “I should get some rest.”
“Right.” Harrison stepped back away from you and turned to clean up the rest of the medical supplies. You got off the counter and left to grab a change of clothes from your suitcase.
“Bathroom’s free.” He announced, exiting the en suite bathroom with the medical bag. You quietly excused yourself to go get changed out of your fashionable red dress.
As you looked at your arm in the mirror, you let out a small sigh. That was definitely going to scar, but maybe it’d add to the seductress mystery.

I absolutely loved the gerudo story a lot! If you are still taking ideas/suggestions may you please continue on with wild telling them about the others? I liked medoh and the rito the most lol but any will be awesome I loved how happy wild and the others were while hearing the story of Riju and nabrois.. thanks 💚💜
Thank you for your kind words! I turned this into a series on my AO3 (queenofliterature) since it has gotten multiple requests. I hope you enjoy and your cosplay is super cool!
“Pleeeeeease!” Wind continued to beg Wild over dinner. It had been a couple of days since Wild told the story about his time with the Gerudo, and Wind was desperate for Wild to tell more, as he had made very clear. Since the first story, they had traveled to Twilight’s Hyrule, although no villages were close enough to get to tonight.
“Dear Hylia. Wild please tell him another story before he explodes.” Legend yelled from across camp.
“Wind, Wild doesn’t need to tell us anything else if he doesn’t want to.” Time lectured Wind, who was attached to Wild’s back, arms wrapped around him like a stationary piggyback ride. Wild didn’t find himself minding. Ever since he had returned Wind’s hug the first night he told a story, the kid had seemed comfortable with attaching himself to Wild like he would Hyrule and Warriors. It was surprising at first, but Wild got used to it, and kinda liked it.
“Um that’s okay. I can tell more stories. I just don’t want them to be boring or anything. There’s no more dressing as a woman and seducing people for items or sneaking into Yiga bases.” Wild joked although he was slightly nervous about his other stories not measuring up.
“But you still have three more divine beats to go right?” Sky voiced curiously.
“And your fight against Ganon!” Warriors called.
“And all your crazy ideas along the way!” Hyrule finished as the rest of the group laughed, Wild included.
“Okay, just let me pass out dinner.”
Once again, the group was all gathered around the campfire, eyes on Wild. Wild still found it intimidating, but it was far less scary this time.
“Well… I guess I could tell you about the Rito?” There were some questions and confused murmurs among the group, except Wind, who lit up at the mention of the birds who lived on Dragon Roost Island.
“You have Rito in your Hyrule too?” Wind questioned excitedly.
“Yeah I do. Do the rest of you not?” There were ripples of no’s throughout the camp.
“Oh, well they’re basically really big, talking birds? That might be an offensive way to describe them. They’re like Zora are to fish I guess.” Wild stated awkwardly. He didn’t really expect to have to explain what a Rito was.
“I can just show you!” Wild remembered he had a picture of Kass and his children on his slate. When they first saw the Sheikah Slate, all five of the girls had crowded around him and demanded to see it. When they saw the photo rune, they wanted him to take a picture of them and their mother and father. He told them he had no way to let them have a copy or anything, but they just wanted to be with him in his travels. It was a very sweet sentiment and Wild absolutely loved that picture.
“Oh wow, you weren’t kidding about them being giant birds.” Hyrule commented when Wild flipped his slate around for them to see.
“They look a bit different from the Rito from my Hyrule but that’s kinda been a common theme among all of us.” Wind noted.
“They’re very nice and welcoming people.” Wild confirmed as he put the slate back on his hip. “When I first got to the village, I had to walk up a whole bunch of bridges that just kept getting higher and higher. The Rito were really upset and worried, since the Divine Beast, Vah Medoh, was causing chaos and shooting anyone down that flew up too high.” Wild remembered the ear-piercing screech that greeted him when he first arrived. All of the Divine Beasts had a call, but none were quite like Medoh’s.
“Oh no that’s awful! The Rito love to fly! Was anyone hurt?” Wind questioned, genuinely concerned for the villagers.
“Unfortunately yes. Some men went up to try and defeat Medoh, but one got shot down and hurt his wing, his name is Harth. He’s alright now. The Rito that went with him, Teba, got him to safety and was planning to face Medoh once again. I spoke with the chief of the village, named Kaneli. He’s very kind, and he has a very deep and hearty laugh.” That was one thing about Wild the group had noticed. He always remembered odd or specific details of people. It may be connected to his loss of memory, but that was simply the person he was. He wanted to get to know as many people as he could and help them when needed.
“So do any of the leaders know that you’re the hero from 100 years earlier?” Four questioned. He really hoped he wasn’t crossing a line by asking, he was just truly curious.
“It kinda depends. The Zora live to be centuries old, so most of them knew me, well… the old me.” Wild stated uncertainly. The rest of camp knew Wild’s struggles with his past self, almost seeing him as a different person than the one they knew now. They were slightly curious about what Wild was like before. They would never trade Wild for anything, but it would be interesting to see how much he had changed. Twilight, who was sitting on Wild’s left, put a gentle hand on his shoulder, while Legend scooted a little closer on Wild’s right, almost unnoticeable to everyone but Wild.
“The Gorons didn’t care all that much, just as long as I could board Rudania. Riju knew that I was friends with Urbosa, or that she at least sent me. And the Rito thought I was the champion’s descendant.” Some snickers left the group at that.
“Hey, I tried to tell him it was really me, but I didn’t have the Master Sword yet. Even then, I’m not sure if he would have believed I was the actual champion, but he was worried for his people. He asked me to help them with the Divine Beast since I was the only one who could board it.”
“Why are you the only one who can board it?” Warriors asked.
“Well, I don’t have a solid answer for you, but it’s because I’m the Hylian Champion.” Wild answered. There wasn’t a scientific answer he could really give, that’s all he really knew.
“Wait, since you’re a champion, do you have a Divine Beast too?” Hyrule exclaimed, eyes shining with anticipation and mischief. Oh Hylia, if WIld had one of those things and he and Hyrule teamed up... Please say no, please say no, please say-
“Well, sorta.” Wild rubbed the back of his neck as gasps (and some groans) arose around him. “It’s very small, smaller than a horse. But it has two wheels and it’s faster than anything I’ve ever ridden. It’s loud though and has to be powered by materials. I’ll show you when we get back to my Hyrule, I’ve tried summoning it here and it doesn’t work.” Wild wished he had a picture of it, but he would show them the real thing soon.
“That sounds amazing!” Surprisingly Hyrule didn’t yell this, but Legend did. He blushed, realizing how loud it was. The rest of the group chuckled. Legend could pretend to be snarky and cool all he wanted, he was such a nerd for new items.
“It really is. I can run over so many monsters, and jump off so many cliffs without getting hurt! And it goes over pretty much any terrain! I just have to be careful not to fall backward down a hill or something. But that doesn’t happen often and-” Wild rambled on, oblivious to the look of horror on Twilight’s face.
“Um, Cub. We love hearing about your Hyrule but… I think you’re going to give Twilight a heart attack.” Time teased, looking at his protege’s face.
“Hehe. Whoops.” Wild laughed, the rest of the heroes joining in, except for Twilight of course who simply glared at his mentor.
“Anyway.” Wild continued, still giggling a little. “The elder sent me to Teba’s wife and child, who begged me to go to the Flight Range and stop him. She said that I could just jump off the Revali’s Landing, a platform named after the Rito Champion from a hundred years ago.”
“Did you remember him at this point?” Sky questioned reluctantly. Like Four, he was nervous about crossing a line.
“I actually remembered him when I looked at the landing.” Wild’s eyes grew slightly distant. “Revali was a complete and utter asshole.” There were surprised huffs of laughter from around the group. That certainly wasn’t what they were expecting. “But… I understood why.” Wild stared into the fire. “He was hurting I think. I got to read his journal and he worked really hard to develop Revali’s Gale, the wind I use now. He worked to become the best archer and protect his village. And then, some random Hylian kid comes and takes the Master Sword and becomes the princess’ appointed knight. He always taunted me, kinda telling me that I was only getting to fight Ganon because of the sword, while he had to sit in his Divine Beast. But I got the sword when I was twelve, and my training started long before that from what I can remember. And I don’t - I don’t think I ever wanted that.” Wild’s breathing hitched the tiniest bit. Not enough to be noticed by anyone who didn’t know him, but this group knew him well.
Twilight instantly pulled him into a hug, and Wild didn’t fight it. He didn’t cry or feel a huge panic coming on, but the hug felt nice all the same.
“It sucks that Revali went through that Wild.” Warriors stated, smiling at the teen gently. “But that is not your fault. You didn’t choose the sword, the sword chose you.” Wild nodded from where his head was on Twilight’s shoulder, before pulling himself away gently. Meanwhile, Time cursed Hylia in his mind, again. Twelve… He understood there was a fight coming, he really did, but this boy was only twelve. No, he was younger when he was forced into training. Wild mentioned to Time when talking about Mipha that he traveled there with knights as a child. He was a child. He still was a child… Time pulled himself out of his own head. There was no changing Wild’s past. That was over one hundred years ago. They could help him now.
“I’m sorry, Wild.” Wind sighed out. “I didn’t mean to bring out bad memories.”
“You didn’t, bud.” Wild reassured. “Sometimes memories just come into my head, even if I’ve seen them before. I wouldn’t tell you if I didn’t trust you.” That halted the camp entirely. Wild had made a lot of progress in trusting them, but they were happy to hear him say it. Before they could dwell too much on what Wild said, he continued his story.
“So anyway, I talked to Harth, the Rito that broke his wing, and a couple of other Rito. Including the girls you all saw in the picture. They’re Kass’ daughters!” Wild stated excitedly. He told them previously about Kass and how much he adored hearing his songs. Wind once asked Wild to sing one, but he blushed a bright red and furiously refused. Wind bet Wild had a pretty voice and he was just embarrassed about it…
“Their mother was worried sick for her children, along with the other parents in the village, and the children were all disappointed they couldn’t fly and play. Well one didn’t want to go to singing practice, but I still had to get the Divine Beast under control as fast as possible. So I bought the Snowquill Set that keeps you really toasty and rushed to the Flight Range to help Teba. When I got there, Teba said he didn’t need any help but I insisted. So he told me that he would challenge my archery skills.” The group leaned in, what sort of test? “He made me shoot five targets in three minutes with my paraglider.” Wild stated in a deadpan voice. The boys froze, then burst out laughing. Wild could shoot three arrows at once, sometimes five with the proper bow! Five targets in three minutes were nothing! Wild chuckled along with the group. He wasn’t arrogant with his archery, but five targets in three minutes was a little too easy. He expected Teba to continue challenging him, but he never did.
“So he gave me some bomb arrows and told me to jump on his back, we were gonna go defeat the Divine Beast.” Wild continued.
“Woah wait, already? Didn’t the other Divine Beasts take you a little time to get too?” Warriors questioned.
“Well Naboris took a little more time since the Yiga clan were causing trouble, but there was nothing else I could do to prepare.” Wild shrugged. “So we flew up into the clouds, Vah Medoh was huge up close! It had a giant courtyard type structure on its back! And it could shoot lasers and had a shield around it! So while Teba distracted it, I used the updrafts to shoot at all four points the shield was powered by. Unfortunately, Teba got grazed by the lasers. He was okay, but he had to land. So I started the puzzles in Vah Medoh. They were so fun! There was one where I had to get in this ride on a track and tilt the beast so I got to ride to the other side! And I was so high up!” Wild continued rambling on about the puzzles he had to solve.
The other boys in the group smiled softly. One of the reasons they enjoyed Wild telling stories was because of how excited he would get while telling the parts that didn't haunt him. The others sometimes struggle with Wild’s Hyrule because of the ruins of the structures they know, but Wild truly loved it, which made sense, it was just like the hero who came from it, wild and untamed.
“So finally all the puzzles were done and all the terminals were unlocked, and the main control unit was unlocked. Like the others, when I put my slate up the control unit, a Ganon Blight came out. This time it was Windblight Ganon. He was easier than the others, but still hard. He could summon tornados! And I had to rely on arrows a lot since he flew out where I couldn’t reach him. But eventually, I got his health down enough for the final blow. When I activated the main control unit, Revali appeared.” Wild smile became bittersweet like it did when he talked about any of his friends from one hundred years ago. “He teased me again, but this time, it seemed more friendly and less bitter. He gave me Revali’s Gale so I wouldn’t always have to rely on cliffs and high places for my paraglider. I went back to see Harth and Teba, and they and their families were fine! The elder thanked me a lot and gave me Revali’s old bow. It’s in my house with the rest of the champion’s items. I used them against Ganon. A little bit to avenge the other champions. You know?” Wild looked to find them all staring at him. “Uh… The end?” Wild ended awkwardly, not knowing what else to say. The rest of the group seemed to snap out of it. Wild was amazing. And highly intelligent. His stories of battles and puzzles and shrines only proved that. Once again, just like when he ended the first story, Wind crashed into Wild and knocked the breath out of his lungs.
“You’re a great storyteller Wild!” Wind cried happily.
“The sailor’s right, Cub.” Twilight smirked, but the kind look in his eyes betrayed his teasing lilt.
“Well, that was a perfect little bedtime story.” Legend yawned and clapped Wild on the back.
“Legend is right, it’s getting a little late. Warriors, you have first watch right.”
“Yeah, yeah. I know Old Man.” Warriors huffed but smiled and ruffled Wild’s hair as he passed, earning a lot of protests to which Warriors just laughed at.
The rest of the group thanked Wild for the story and headed to their bedrolls. The Links were happy that Wild was talking more, and didn't want to make a huge deal out of it and scare him into science once again. But they also wanted him to know they appreciate him trusting them enough to tell them of his trials.
After making sure no one needed his help with anything, Wild collapsed into his bedroll. He enjoyed telling the others his stories, but he still wasn’t used to talking for long amounts of time.
A couple of minutes later, Twilight, who was preparing his own bedroll, realized he hadn’t heard Wild shuffling about like he normally did. He turned around to ask if he was okay, only to see him completely conked out on top of the blankets, apparently tired from talking so much in one night. He snorted softly at the smaller teen, before slowly going over and tucking him in. If Wild wasn’t completely passed out, he would have denied what he called being treated like a child, but there wasn’t a single protest as Twilight lifted Wild slightly and put him under the covers, tucking them around him. There was only a small sound that Twilight absolutely would not admit not to find adorable, as Wild snuggled into the blankets covering him. Time hummed slightly, making Twilight turn around.
“He was too young.” Time said solemnly, referring to what Wild told them earlier that night. Twilight had similar thoughts. Wild had told him after a memory that he was only twelve when he got the Master Sword. Twilight knew he was too young. A lot of the group was.
“Yeah… But he has us now.” Twilight smiled at Time, who looked at his pup with pride in his eyes. Those who weren’t asleep or didn’t have the first watch were soon wrapped in their bedrolls peacefully, the only sound being crickets chirping around them.

The Queen’s Court Chapter 2
Waking up in the morning, Chloe stares at the ceiling. Was yesterday really… real? Was she really a superhero?
She turns her head to see Pollen, curled up next to her on the pillow. Chloe smiles, whispering, “So it wasn’t a dream.”
Pollen stretches, blinking her big eyes up at Chloe. “Good morning my queen! I hope you don’t mind that I slept on your pillow, I just dozed off.”
Chloe shakes her head. “No, no, you’re fine. I think- I think it’s sweet that you care so much.”
Pollen perks up, and Chloe smiles at her before going off to get herself ready for school. If her Adrikins was finally going to show up, she needed to look extra special.
While she brushes her hair, Pollen flies up to her. “My queen, do you have something you can carry me around in? I need to be at your side at all times in case of an akuma attack.”
“Of course,” Chloe preens. “I always carry a purse with me. Now let’s pick the perfect combo for today!”
After picking the perfect accessories, eating breakfast fit for her royal likening, and having her chaffeur drive her, she’s finally at school. Sabrina’s not here yet, so she examines the scene in front of her.
The new girl… Okay it had to be Ariel, right? Is blabbering to Dupain-Cheng about some blog she made about.. The new superheroes. Specifically Queen Bee. Chloe feels her heart swell, she deserves to have an entire blog about her, even without the miraculous. But even though the limelight is on her, she feels her teammates deserve just as much attention as her. Besides, the BeeBlog? Ridiculous name.
“Isn’t the whole point of the team is that they’re all royalty?” Chloe drawls, injecting herself into their conversation. “You’re only paying attention to one part of one hero. Your blog should be themed around royalty, not just Queen Bee.”
Suddenly Dupain-Cheng turns to Chloe, her face scrunched up in undeniable anger. “Do you have a problem with Queen Bee?” she hisses. “She was amazing yesterday and far more amazing than you could ever be.”
First off, Dupain Cheng was talking back to Chloe? She had always been mild mannered and never fought back against Chloe. And secondly, was she seriously accusing Chloe of being jealous of herself?
“I know that Queen Bee is amazing, I saw first hand how brilliantly she fought against Ivan yesterday,” Chloe sneers, shooting a glance towards the boy in question. “I’m just drawing the fact to attention that if someone’s going to report on our new superheroes, she should focus on all of them. Princess Kitten and Sir Coccinelle are just as powerful, brilliant, and fantastic as Queen Bee. None of them would be able to fight without each other.” She stares Dupain-Cheng down, ignoring Alyssa’s murmurs of it being a working table. Chloe has only met her teammates once, but she already knows she would trot to the end of the Earth for them.
Before she could get into a proper fight with Dupain-Cheng, her eyes are drawn to a familiar blonde boy furiously running to school. “Adrikins!” Chloe cries, rushing to him and clinging to his arm. “I’m so happy you finally made it!” She nuzzles into his arm, and pulls him inside school to tell him how lonely she was without him, not caring to notice Sabrina trailing behind them.
Upon entering the classroom, Chloe’s eyes flicker to Dupain-Cheng’s seat. With her free hand, she reaches into her bag for a stick of gum, but her fingers brush up against Pollen. She gently pats Pollen’s head, and then pauses.
Pollen worships her.. But what would Pollen think about Chloe sticking gum to Dupain-Cheng’s seat? What would Princess Kitten and Sir Coccinelle think? Chloe remembers how Sir Coccinelle looked up to her, with his big innocent eyes, and how relieved Princess Kitten looked when Queen Bee was kind to her. And although Chloe enjoys the power she feels tormenting Dupain-Cheng, she feels that Queen Bee just wouldn’t do that. Chloe-Chloe doesn’t know what to do.
Is - is she not worthy of the Bee Miraculous?
She spaces out, at unease with herself, not spacing back in until she hears a roar very similar to the giant beast she fought yesterday ring through the school. She jerks out of her stupor to see Ivan in the monster form burst into the classroom, grab Mylene and storm off, leaving destruction in his wake.
The classroom erupts into chaos, and Chloe takes the opportunity to rush off and transform. She passes Dupain-Cheng, and pauses at the determined look on her face. Dupain-Cheng, who has never stood up to Chloe, despite years of torment, radiates this energy that makes her believe that she could destroy the beast.
For a second, Chloe’s glad that she didn’t put the gum on Dupain-Cheng’s seat.
She slam into a bathroom stall, and opens her bag to let Pollen out. Pollen flutters out of the bag, a concerned look on her face. “My queen,” she chirps. “I feel as if you are extremely upset, what’s wrong?”
Chloe shakes her head. “No time to talk! We have an akuma to defeat! Pollen, buzz on!”
Queen Bee scrambles her way to the top of the school where she spots Ivan clutching Mylene in a stone fist stomping through the streets, while human sized versions of the stone monsters run around causing destruction. Not seeing Princess Kitten or Sir Cocinelle, she decides to follow Ivan to avoid making him bigger, and causing herself more problems.
She follows him to the Eiffel Tower, and lands behind a police barricade. “What’s going on?” Queen Bee asks, trying to put on her most authoritative voice.
She recognizes Sabrina’s dad, who turns to her with an annoyed, condescending look on his face. “Leave the work to the professionals, alright?”
Queen Bee bristles, and bites her tongue to stop herself from calling him a very not nice word. “I’m sorry, Officer, but do you have superpowers?” She shoots at Officer Raincomprix.
Sure, her power isn’t the most powerful, but still, she’s the one wielding the Bee Miraculous and not him. Where’s Princess Kitten staff and Sir Cocinelle’s Lucky Charm when you need them?
Sir Coccinelle lands next to her, and she sighs in relief that at least one member of her team is here. Now all she needs is Princess Kitten, and they can take Ivan down once and for all. “Your Majesty,” he says with a comical, over exaggerated bow. “How lucky we meet again. How may your humble knight help you?”
Queen Bee snorts. “At least you know how to address me, oh dashing knight. Maybe you can convince the kind officer here that we are here to help protect Paris? I’m going to scout to figure out where the akuma is this time.”
“Why, of course, your majesty!” He gives another goofy bow, and Queen Bee leaps off.
As she surveys the scene from a rooftop, a blur of black lands in front of her. “Queen Bee, I’m so sorry I’m late,” Princess Kitten apologizes, her face scrunched up in distress. “I was afraid that I wasn’t a good superhero, or that I just got in the way yesterday, and I panicked, and I just keep letting you down-”
Queen Bee shoves a finger against Princess Kitten’s lips. “Princess, you know what I can not stand? When people who are clearly talented put themselves down.” Queen Bee snaps, looking into Princess Kitten’s big blue eyes.
Queen Bee softens, seeing the sheer and utter panic on her face. “Princess, you are so much more than you believe. Sure, Sir Coccinelle got rid of the damage done to the city, but it was because of you he was able to do that! Without your Cataclysm, we couldn’t have defeated Iv- the akuma in the first place, and we most definitely can’t do it without you. You are more than enough and we need you. Not anyone else. So please, chatonne, stay.”
Princess Kitten blinks a few times, and nods, a smile spreading across her face.. “Th- thank you Queen Bee. I really needed to hear that.”
And with a start, Queen Bee realizes that she has never been this kind. The sweet thankful smile on Princess Kitten’s face makes her want to do it a thousand times over.
A roar from Ivan snaps her out of her musing, and she looks up to see a face shaped out of butterflies sneering down at them. “Paris, I am Hawkmoth. I created and control Stoneheart. To the royal menagerie, surrender your Miraculouses to me if you don’t want to harm Paris.”
“How dare you turn this on us!” Princess Kitten shouts. Queen Bee whips around to see her, eyes furrowed, fists clenched, her staff pointed accusingly at the butterfly face. “You literally said that you were the creator of the akuma who’s destroying Paris! You took advantage of an innocent person’s emotions for some selfish reason!”
Queen Bee steps forward, and grabs Princess Kitten’s free hand. “She’s right. We are not the villains here! You’re literally the one who’s using butterflies to terrorise Paris.”
Sir Coccinelle jumps up from his conversation with a very annoyed Officer Raincomprix to stand at Queen Bee’s side, a giant shit-eating grin on his face. “Seriously, dude. No one’s scared of a bunch of butterflies. Us Parisians have faced much worse.”
Hawkmoth scowls, sneering, “You will regret not taking my offer soon enough.”
Queen Bee looks him up and down, an eyebrow raised, a smirk on her face. “No, I really think we won’t.”
Hawkmoth disappears into a burst of butterflies, but Queen Bee frankly could not care less. She throws her arms around her teammates, pulling them in. “Who’s ready to get rid of Stoneheart once and for all?”
“Yes please,” groans Princess Kitten, but she’s still grinning, and leaning into Queen Bee.
Sir Coccinelle throws his hands up into the arms and cheers. “First villain take down! Or, is it the second? Whatever, doesn’t matter! Lucky Charm!”
“A parachute?”
Queen Bee snorts at his baffled reaction, and waits a moment for his.. Ladybug vision to work. She examines it, and sees that once again, Stoneheart has a clenched fist. “I’m pretty sure the akuma’s in the fist again.” She looks at Sir Coccinelle, and the pieces click together. “First villain takedown, take 2, let’s go!”
After one hap hazardous event with a parachute, a call of Venom that turned out to be useless, and holding Ivan far too close for comfort, they’re all on the ground with the akuma properly purified this time. Queen Bee watches as Princess Kitten encourages Mylene to read Ivan’s paper. She watches as they awkwardly hug, and files away the memory for later use. Teasing or tormenting, she wasn’t quite sure. A beep from all of their Miraculouses tears the superheroes away from the two civilians.
They quickly fist bump, and Sir Coccinelle gives another comical bow. “I’m looking forward to fighting by your sides.”
“Me too, bug boy,” Queen Bee says, and watches him swing off. Turning to Princess Kitten, she gives her a soft smile. “I hope you’re planning on sticking around, chatonne. I would hate to lose you as quickly as I got you.”
Princess Kitten shakes her head furiously. “No, no no! I mean yes! Yes, I am most definitely staying!”
Queen Bee lets herself giggle, and gently boops her nose. “Glad to keep you around, chatonne.” Queen Bee swings back to school, slipping back into the hordes reentering the school, finding Sabrina.
Entering the classroom, Chloe overhears excited chatter from the new girl. “I can’t believe I missed today’s fight! Especially considering the wicked cool new name my blog’s got!”
Dupain-Cheng’s voice returns, strong and reassuring. “C’mon Alya, I’m sure there will be plenty more. That Hawkmoth guy seemed kind of serious. And you know, you didn’t have to listen to Chloe, BeeBlog was a fine name.”
Chloe side eyes Dupain-Cheng and Alya, as the latter shakes her head. “No, BeeBlog was a dumb name. From now on, Paris can get all their news about our superheroes from the Queendom!”
Chloe smiles. Now that’s a name she could get behind. Before she takes her seat, she pauses, and then swivels around to face Dupain-Cheng. “Hey. You can have your seat back if you want.” Chloe tries to say in her nicest face. It was a lot easier to be nice to Princess Kitten, but Dupain-Cheng? A whole other story.
She’s only greeted by blank stares. This is going to be harder than she wanted. “It wasn’t.. Cool of me to force you out of your seat yesterday. You got there fair and square. Sabrina and I don’t care sitting where I forced you to sit before.”
With a huff, she stomps off to the seat, sliding in.
“I thought you said Chloe always got what she wanted?” She overhears Alya whisper. She bristles, about to retract her beautiful and well thought out apology, but is interrupted by Marinette whispering back, “Hey, I guess anyone can change. New year, new Chloe.”
-------------------------------------------------------
Chloe retracts any thoughts of goodwill she might’ve had.
She fumes in the pouring rain, her diamond encrusted phone clenched in her hand. Apparently, Daddy has been so busy with press conferences that he forgot to send for her chauffeur, leaving Chloe locked out of school in the thunderstorm. Sure, the driver was on his way, but that still didn’t change the fact that Chloe is soaked, her makeup is running, and Pollen could be getting wet. Goodness help her if anyone sees her like this, she might die.
“Chloe?”
Chloe was going to murder someone. “Don’t look at me,” she snaps any attempts of kindness leaving her system.
“I never thanked you for letting me have my seat back earlier,” Dupain-Cheng presses on, seemingly oblivious to Chloe’s wrath threatening to pour out of her.
“Whatever, it was never mine to take in the first place,” she snaps, wishing on any star that Dupain-Cheng would just leave.
“But you admitted you were wrong, which is something you’ve done, and you were surprisingly nice about it.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever, my driver will be here soon, so you should get back to your bakery or whatever.”
“Here.”
Chloe turns to see Dupain-Cheng offering her her umbrella, smiling, and damn. That was a nice smile.
“What-what are you doing?” Chloe sputters, attempting to avoid making eye contact.
“I live super close, a little rain won’t hurt me. Please, take it.”
“Why? I’ve done nothing to deserve your handout.”
“No one deserves to be soaking in the rain. Besides, I was kind of hoping this year could be a fresh start for the two of us.”
Chloe looks up at Dupain-Cheng's hopeful smile. She pushes the umbrella closer. “What do you say?”
Chloe gingerly takes the umbrella, reassured by her kind gaze, but jumps when a clap of thunder goes off when they brush hands, pouring rain on the umbrella onto her head.
Marinette restrains a snort, and Chloe’s about to snap at her, but stops herself. “Thank you...Marinette.”
Marinette smiles big, and rushes off into the rain. “Bring it back tomorrow, okay?”
Chloe smiles, and whispers, “I will.”
Pollen flies out, and nuzzles against Chloe’s cheek. Chloe turns to her, and asks, “What just happened?”
Pollen only giggles, and responds, “I think we both know, my queen.”
Chloe touches a hand to her blushing face.
“Fuck.”

Gavin Eternal Wedding Karma Date (translated)
there was an issue with Tumblr and the original text was deleted. this is the same content, but w/o the cgs and also bolded names to make reading it easier. sorry for the inconvenience :(
spoilers for a date not on the EN server below the cut~
MC: Anna, has everyone reached their places?
Anna: rest assured, i’ve checked with them all, there will be no problems, and the photographer will come find me with the situation of the drone.
Anna: you’re the bride of the day, if you run around like this, the makeup artist’s hard work for two hours will be in vain!
MC: you’ve all worked hard…
Near valentine’s day, the company planned a collective wedding called “Fairy Tale Dream”.
We ran through the city’s wedding company and finally found 99 new couples who were willing to cooperate with us in the collective shooting in the “Fairy Tale World” themed park in Lianyu City. (tn: loveland city)
We will arrange these 99 couples to stand in different positions in the park, from the lawn at the entrance of the park to the retro street in front of the castle to the church decorated with flowers.
The said drone equipped with a camera will fly through the entire park according to a predetermined path for shooting, and the new couples will have to put out a specific act when it passes.
We want to pass this kind of ‘one mirror to the end’ technique, where we will take the fairy tale aspect of the whole paradise and have the atmosphere and happiness recorded.
Though, I didn’t expect that a few days before shooting, a few couples couldn’t come due to emergencies! In our desperation, we could only find stand-ins among ourselves.
Willow, Kiki and I have gone together only to make it up to the number 99.
I smoothed out my snow-white skirts -- although the dress is only borrowed, and the groom is fake, I'm still sure that every girl will have a heart full of longing for such a wedding.
After all, it’s really beautiful…
Should I take a picture for him?
I talked to him last 3 days ago, and I don't know if his mission was going well.
As soon as this thought arose, my phone rang. It was my “groom” Minor.
[over the phone] Minor: Hi boss….
Minor’s voice was so sleepy!
MC: Are you still at home? Filming will start in half an hour!
[over the phone] Minor: I…
[over the phone] Minor: I stayed up all night last night and went to bed at four. Can I take a day off?
MC: What?!
This is the fairy tale wedding that I prepared for nearly two months, and already at the last moment before shooting, Minor has released my doves? (tn: she’s saying that because he won’t show up, he’s ended everything before anything even happened.)
MC: you’re my partner, who am I going to film with if not you?
For a moment, I was so godless that I couldn’t help but raise my voice
Anna: What happened? Minor won’t come?
MC [to Minor]: You come here right now, and I’ll tell the photographer to wait for you! If you don’t appear in front of me in half an hour, I will--
[over the phone] Minor: Wait, wait until I finish talking, boss -- Although I can’t come, your groom will not be absent.
MC: what do you mean?
Minor was one step ahead of me and hung up the phone without waiting for me to speak. I hadn’t even responded yet, and a familiar voice suddenly came from behind me.
Gavin: Am I late?
As I turned around, I couldn’t help but feel stunned. The man in a suit and leather dress shoes stood a few steps away from me. His light chestnut hair was covered in gold from the sun, his amber eyes were enveloped in fine shimmers, and the corners of his normally unsmiling lips were slightly raised. He had a clean jawline, and this smooth, somewhat sharp line immediately followed his thin neck and wide shoulders that were covered under his shirt.
It’s the man I’m familiar with, but it’s not the same as usual…
The ten slender fingers are holding a pair of ice-like crystal shoes that shine in the sun, and the upper part of the shoes shines brightly as well, like the stars or a firefly.
MC: Gavin, you…
I was still at a loss for words. Gavin came over to me naturally, stooped down and knelt in front of me. At the next moment, warm fingertips touched my ankles and I bit my lower lip subconsciously.
The wind in February is cold, but my face becomes hot instantly. At the same time, I clearly hear the sound of my heart in the left-most side of my chest, again and again.
I looked down at Gavin, and all of my emotions were stuck in my throat. It turned out that it was quite a feeling to be found by him in a big crowd. Every year, Spring is given meaning, and every moment of waiting for happiness is suddenly fulfilled. (tn: kind of complicated, but she’s basically saying that she feels the traditional relief and comfort of spring looking down at Gavin.)
After changing a shoe, I noticed that I was not standing steadily. Without hesitation, I put my hand in his palm. I let him take my weight and stepped into the second shoe delicately.
Gavin stood up quickly and took the balloon in my hand. Anna then stepped forward to straighten my hair for me and set the veil down again, making sure that my makeup had no flaws while smiling with ease.
Anna: I am a bit reluctant to send you off to marriage all by yourself.
I glanced at Gavin with corners of my lips turned up in a smile, and muttered softly.
MC: we’re not getting married…
Anna smiled and held her hands up in surrender, but her eyes still fell on the hands that Gavin and I hadn’t yet let go of. She looked cheerful.
Anna: I’ll clean up here, you hurry up and prepare.
I looked at Gavin and smiled at him slightly.
Gavin: Ready to go?
MC: ok!
I never thought I would have such a one-on-one walk with Gavin in these blooming flowers, leading to a fairytale kingdom.
With every step, the pleasant sound of the crystal shoes stepping on the ground rang in my ears. Maybe a fairy has put some magic on me? Maybe then I can have the surprise and happiness of Cinderella.
MC: Gavin, actually I was thinking just now, if you wouldn’t have seen me looking so beautiful today, it would’ve been a pity.
Gavin: Well, then it’s a good thing I came.
The designated shooting location for Gavin and I was the terrace on the third floor of the castle. I carefully took the skirt in my hands and walked up the castle’s circular staircase step by step. Probably only because I was insecure. Gavin held my hand sweetly, lifting it slightly. Every step was slow and careful, but he was patient.
Sunlight shines into the castle from the windows filled with stained glass, casting colourful lights and shadows on the dark cyan stone bricks and pure white steps. The huge dome itself depicts exquisite Greek mythology, and the golden bows and arrows of Eros around the edges point directly to the dark blue night full of stars.
A pure white and flawless wedding dress, magic crystal shoes, and a gorgeous castle -- although the teenage mind has imagined so-called fairy tale weddings countless times, I never imagined that one day my own dream would become reality.
Although unexpected, it made me feel that this arrangement of fate is a good thing for me.
I looked through the veil at Gavin. Somehow, since he appeared in front of me, even though it’s just a simple shooting for work, it’s made me inexplicably nervous.
MC: Gavin, when did you come back?
Gavin: Last night. Minor sent me a message two days ago saying that you were missing a partner, so I finished the task as soon as possible to come back.
My footsteps took a light pause. Sounds like I caused him trouble again….
(tn: and she’s just gonna ignore how minor never planned to come in the first place sfksjh)
I sighed to myself, a thank you almost escaping, but I swallowed it back after a short moment of hesitation.
MC: I didn’t expect the shoot to be temporarily short of people, but this doesn’t matter so much. You didn’t need to rush back.
Gavin: It matters.
There was a light smile on Gavin’s lips.
Gavin: Whether it’s real or not, only you could be my bride.
His tone still carries the usual carelessness, but every word and every sentence he spoke falls straight into my heart. Although he always understates such solemn promises, he never says things like that.
He is my fearless knight, always falling from the sky when I need him most, giving me the most comprehensive protection -- without exception. If I have him, I have unlimited courage.
I held his hand tight and wanted to convey to him all my euphoria and gratitude at the moment through my palm temperature.
Every step of my heels on the marble floor echoed throughout the building. This road to our future is paved by out short and long life in the past --
MC: Gavin?
Gavin: Yes?
MC: Do you think that if the prince did not find Cinderella, would he marry another princess?
Gavin: No. After you’ve identified something, you won’t just stop looking for it.
As soon as his words fell, we walked through the last step, and my eyes were suddenly blinded. Sunshine and white pigeond are spread in every corner of the terrace, the vines climbing on the railing to lazily stretch out to branches and leaves. Standing here overlooking the paradise, I see everything in the scenery reflected in Gavin’s eyes.
The shimmering coins in the wishing pool, the flag flying on the pirate ship below and another flock of white pigeons flying over the castle -- I couldn’t help but gasp.
MC: The last time I was here it was a rainy day, but I didn’t expect to miss such scenery!
Gavin: Since you see it now, it’s not a miss.
Just as I was fascinated by a white dove resting on the railing of the terrace, a ray of blue smoke floated over the large lawn at the entrance.
MC: It’s the signal to start shooting!
A cheerful waltz sounded, and countless gorgeously dressed fairy tale characters rushed from all sides to the main street in front of the castle, singing blessing songs for all of the new couples to hear. The white wedding dresses of the brides rotate with their elegant dance postures, blooming like blossoming camellia.
Several pumpkin cars slowly drove past, throwing wine and gold leaves and petals around. At this moment, the colourful balloons in the hands of the grooms took off. Pages of fairy tale chapters are being staged, and the magic and magnificent love on the pages of the yellow-ish book are now unfolding right in front of my eyes.
While I was immersed in the joyous atmosphere in front of me, the drone in the distance appeared in my sight -- I didn’t expect it to come so fast!
I took repeated breaths in an attempt to calm down.
Gavin: Cold?
Sensing my increasingly stiff expression, Gavin shifts closer.
MC: No, I’m just… a little nervous.
Although I am already familiar with the next process, I did not seriously participate in the rehearsal, after all. I can’t help but feel guilty about possibly ruining the upcoming official shooting.
MC: Gavin, remember to lift my veil later and let go of the balloons.
After this sentence was finished, I realised that the scripted action of looking at each other affectionately was originally written in the planning case by me….
That’s embarrassing.
I could feel my ears turning more red and tried to pull my hand out of his, but failed.
MC: it is to lift the veil and let go of the balloon, so….
So he should have a free hand. But, he only held my hand tighter.
At this moment, the drone was flying slowly towards the terrace. I was about to remind him again when a breeze blew in front of me, gently lifting my veil -- the piece of fabric was gone and now, I could clearly see Gavin’s face.
He stepped forward about half a step closer, released the balloons according to the predesigned plan, and the free hand wrapped gently around my waist. I blinked and clearly saw the smile of his amber eyes, the most dazzling light in the world, reflected in my eyes at that moment.
I don’t know how long it took before Gavin stepped away.
The drone had long disappeared, and the entire park has been filled with colourful balloons.
I took two steps to the edge of the railing, and even when seeing that the shoot was now completed below, the couples were still hugging tightly. There are also some jokes and laughs down on the grass -- you are carrying me, and I’m pulling you -- but whatever the action, everyone is smiling.
MC: That’s nice….
I was relieved by their smiles, no matter what the results of the shooting are, this moment makes it all worth it!
I found myself having slightly red eyes subconsciously, but it was suddenly enveloped by a burst of warmth. In the blink of an eye, something dripped from my eyes and crossed my lips that were always raised.
Gavin hugged me from behind, and when I imagined this picture, he tightened his arms and held his breath. He lowered his head, his chin resting gently above my forehead.
Gavin: What are you thinking?
I watched the bride closest to us raise her phone and take several pictures with the groom.
MC: When i first started this planning, I always felt that the form was greater than the content. After all, compared to a wedding ceremony, the atmosphere of a park and the drone shooting are the key points.
MC: But later, I felt that the form was less and less important. It’s the most significant thing to witness the most important moment in the life of so many people! It turns out that happiness can be seen: there is sound, there is temperature. Yeah….
My hand was covered with the back of Gavin’s, and my fingertips touched the rough marks his guns had left over the years. Then, he intertwined his fingers with mine, leaving no gaps.
MC: ...Happiness can be touched.
Gavin didn’t speak anymore, and a light smile flicked my ears. The long silence stretched this warm moment for a long, long time, but every second, I subconsciously hope that the next will be longer.
Soon, all of the colourful balloons disappeared into the clear sky, so it seems like the shooting should all be over.
I immediately picked up Gavin’s hand and ran back the way we originally came.
MC: come with me ---
I led him out of the castle and ran along the avenue full of petals to the deserted game area. The park is not open to the public today, but due to the shooting requirements, all game equipment is in operation. And lucky for us, the entire area is covered by one after another.
Seven or eight pigeons stood in the open space in front of the carousel. I took a few hesitant steps forward, and although I deliberately slowed my pace, the pigeons still jumped and flew off in surprise.
Gavin: Seems these pigeons are very afraid of life, and they’re not very obedient.
MC: No!
I reached into the small bag I carried with me and pulled out two small packs of pigeon food, shaking it in front of Gavin.
MC: these are props I “borrowed” from shooting. During this time, I’ve been friendly with them, so they’re a bit closer to me.
I threw a handful of pigeon food all over the open space. In an instant, all the white pigeons passed by in front of us and stopped to grab food between their small beaks.
Watching them happily eat, I couldn’t help getting closer.
MC: Eat a little bit more and go home full. But in the future I ask for you to visit often!
Group of pigeons: coo coo! (tn: felt like i had to keep it lol)
I do not know if it understood what I said. Several white pigeons raised their heads to look at me with beady eyes, but when I looked back, a fat white pigeon was already perching on Gavin’s index finger.
He was shrouded in the morning sun as thin as a tulle . The tie that had been neatly worn was slightly loosened by him, and the suit waistcoat was also loosened by two buttons.
I stepped forward and lightly touched the white pigeon’s talon, but the little guy ignored me and only looked up and Gavin.
Gavin: If it depends on me to eat, it’s probably not very hungry.
MC: either that or it knows you can eat a big meal here.
I flipped my bag open again, and I found the last bag of pigeon food. I ripped the package open under the heavy gaze of the white pigeon, and it stared at the food. The fat pigeon immediately flew from Gavin’s finger and stopped at me. However, it only took two bites before suddenly flying off --
Gavin: Someone’s whistling.
MC: ah, well, we agreed with the owner of them that they could be picked up around this time.
All the pigeons seemed to notice, and suddenly spread their wings to rise into the air, leaving only small scraps of food behind. Watching them fly higher and higher, I hurriedly waved at them, and then looked at Gavin with a smile.
MC: Shall we go home too? You can rest for a while and wait for me to cook a big meal for you!
Gavin: That sounds good.
Gavin strode forward and took my hand, and his brow suddenly stretched as he smiled slightly.
Gavin: You have cold hands (tn: it’s worth mentioning he has a very sad expression in this frame)
He immediately draped his blazer over my shoulders, and pulled his collar tightly around my shoulders exposed to the cold wind.
Gavin: Sit down and rest for a while, we don’t have to rush.
I looked at the low bench, then my wedding dress. After all, it is borrowed clothing….
Gavin seemed to understand my worries and took me into his arms directly without saying a word.
MC: Gavin!
Suddenly, my feet were off the ground, and I exclaimed in shock. When my reaction came, he had already entered the carousel area and placed me firmly on a wooden horse. However, as soon as he lets go, the game starts a new round of rotation. Sitting on the shifting wooden horse, I unexpectedly lost my balance!
Subconsciously, my hands grabbed for the nearest support -- a white dress collar.
Gavin: Afraid? I won’t let you fall.
He took another half step, and I was finally able to relax after regaining my sense of security.
It’s just that I still dare not let go with my feet off the ground, so I subconsciously gently hooked my arms around his shoulder. A brilliant string of lights shone above my head, and warm and joyful music was playing. In a flash, I felt like I was pulled back into the fairy tale dream.
MC: Gavin… Thank you for coming back for me.
Gavin: What?
MC: Whether it’s true or false, I want to only be your bride.
The bell of noon is ringing -- the fairy’s magic has not disappeared. My knight, who has seen me look so embarrassed and silly for so many times, still pulls out his sword in the face of the evil dragon and witch, and firmly stands in front of me.
His tall back is the deepest notch left in my memory. The wind and frost condensed in his eyes is the starlight that I am willing to look to for my entire life. The sea breeze blows between my fingers, and I gather my fingers to hold them tightly in my palm.
At this moment, I don’t know how I can express my love for him in words. I can only stare at him in wonder, and I can’t bear to look away
Gavin: ……
With a small chuckle, he leaned over and drew closer to me. At the moment when our eyes were locked, I held my breath slightly, and then he moved closer and dropped a soft kiss on my lips.
Afterwards, I saw the colourful lights on the top of the carousel’s stacked halo, and saw the white pigeons passing through the cloudless sky -- I wondered for a moment whether I fell into the most beautiful dream in the world.
Gavin’s warm breath completely surrounded me. He held my face tenderly in one hand and rested the other gently on my waist.
Every plunder did not go in depth, nor did he leave. I was dazzled by it and did not want to wake up.
Gavin: When you are ready -- you can be my bride at any time

Hi good morning can we talk about twn ciri for a sec? There is something about the way she’s portrayed by the actress that just drives me CRAZY and I don’t know quite how to put my finger on it. I think she’s just so reserved and serious and haughty, whereas in the books she’s really playful and lively and exaggerated and just?? Has emotions?? And also I was spoiled by Peter Kenny’s fantastic accent for ciri and can’t think of her any other way. ANYWAY WHAT R UR THOUGHTS CUZ IM SURE THEY’RE GOOD
ohohoh yes. just as a prefacee and for context, freya allan (ciri’s actress) is 18 years old, and i am 19 years old, so to say i didn’t like her acting in twn isn’t me bullying or being harsh on a minor. in addition, i also don’t think her acting was bad. i think her acting was great, but it was just out of character for ciri, at least the ciri we know from the books... i do not think the directors treated ciri with enough weight as she needed to have in the narrative. like with yennefer, they gave her way more screen time and much less significance in the overall story, because the moments that they gave them to be on screen were just pure filler with no effect on the character development, relationship development, setting, themes... the audience never learned anything useful when they were on screen, besides lore about aretuza and cintra that would immediately escape their minds after the episode was done.
i know for a fact that this “out of character” acting for ciri (her being “so reserved and serious and haughty”) was a result of the directors and people running the show, and NOT freya herself as an actress. like with joey batey and anya chalotra i think, they got the short stick in this deal. they’re actors, so their profession is to act, but they don’t always get to decide HOW they’re supposed to act and portray these beloved characters. that’s what the director is for, right? to direct how scenes play out, to make sure the characters are in-character. and the writers are the ones that write the actors’ lines and the scenes they exist in, so “then it’s just like any other place,” or “who’s yennefer,” and other ridiculous garbage throwaway lines were the writers’ fault and not the actors. i just think it’s important to establish that even though yes, freya is an older teenager/young adult, she’s not responsible for a lot of decisions involving ciri and the character. plus since she is 18 and just got done being 17, i feel like this is the first time she’s actually been able to legally make her own decisions.
plus in this topic, because i’ve never mentioned it anywhere before, i’d like to bring light to how it’s super shady of netflix to decide to hire an actress for ciri who is BARELY an adult actor, because child actors (as opposed to adult ones) are restricted by many different laws concerning how many hours they can work, etc. the fact that freya is 18 means that they can give her more work and disregard any regulations that may have applied to a child actor, and i think i literally read this from lauren hissrich in an interview, that “older actors are easier to work with than child actors” or something like this, that it’s difficult to shoot with child actors due to the immense restrictions. so although they phrased the casting choice for freya allan more in the sense of “well, we were GOING to cast someone younger, but freya was just so fantastic in auditions that we NEEDED her in this production” is suspicious to me, i think they did it so they wouldn’t have to deal with the headache of laws surrounding child actors (note that i do NOT doubt that freya is a great actress, i liked her acting, i mean look at the scenes she is in! she is actually acting, unlike henry cavill).
speaking of henry cavill, anyone want to mention his 19 year old girlfriend or his “opinions” on the #MeToo movement? no? my more conspiratorial theory is that they might have just wanted to get a barely legal actress for ciri because if cavill were to “do anything”... ahem... it would be less complicated for all of the legality than if he “did anything” to a child. i’m not calling cavill a r*pist but he has made his views on women explicitly clear, and a LOT falls under the umbrella of sexual assault and harassment. innappropriate comments, etc... i don’t trust him to respect women just as much as i don’t trust him to act.
that was a big preface that pretty much went nowhere, apologies... but i think it’s significant to look at the context around the actor or actress when they’re likely being a tad exploited on set. but yes, ciri does come off as super out of character to me in the majority of scenes she is in. it’s because her character was set up to be a white feminist fantasy of being declared innocent from the sins of her family because she feels bad about it, with her “being so privileged and then she finds out her grandmamma committed mass genocide and she has to realize that her royal ways!” instead of anything related to what we see in the books, of a vulnerable child losing that childhood and trying to cling to some sense of normalcy and family. they set her up as “a princess” and not “a child.”
in the books, she’s just a child, and then geralt learns she’s a princess and teases her that she doesn’t look much like one, being lost in a forest with a snotty nose... she’s not introduced in a royal court surrounded by noble guests. i doubt that books ciri spent all of her time in court, either... according to the lore, she wouldn’t even be able to sit down and she would have to stand in calanthe’s presence (season of storms, the princes must stand in the royal court alongside their father while coral gets to sit because she is a sorceress... of course, this is cidaris and not cintra, but it still stands). she is a princess, but she has difficulty acting like one... it’s something i’d rather erase from my mind because it’s one of those “problematic points of canon that only exist because they live in a medieval society,” but it’s made clear that calanthe gave ciri the belt for misbehaving, multiple times. ciri is obviously interested in more childlike pursuits and acts outside of her station a lot. after all, she is the reason that their entourage got pulled into brokilon in the sword of destiny, because ciri fucking ran away since she didn’t want to be brought to and married off to prince kirsten of verden.
again on ciri’s age, she was 8 or 9 when we first meet her in the books, and 14 when we meet her in the netflix series. that’s a vast amount of difference in age, not only by years, but by development and experience. an 8 year old is a 3rd grader, a 14 year old is a high school freshman. i think that makes a lot of difference in not only how much agency a character is treated with, but how an audience views them. i mean, 14 is a good age for a YA novel protagonist - think harry potter or percy jackson. ciri in the netflix adaptation was set up more as someone relatable (to those younger watching) as she’s like the hero of her own story! she escapes from her evil evil evil pursuers and has this great power she doesn’t yet understand! whereas books ciri is meant more for an audience to feel like geralt toward - protective, parental, you find a child in the middle of the woods, and you’re thinking, “what’s with this... sassy lost child?”
sapkowski is also the master of a good character reveal. i think ciri, cahir, regis, even characters like vilgefortz, have these GREAT reveals as to who they were all along! surprise, surprise, there is no black knight of cintra, it’s just a young man paralyzed with fear and pain! surprise, surprise, the guy that knew a lot about vampires and lived near a cemetery and dresses in all black is a vampire (ok, this reveal is weaker... but you’ve got to admit, the actual reveal scene... alright).
ciri had a GREAT character reveal in the books. since we see everything from geralt’s perspective, she’s just some child, she’s just some brat geralt finds in the wilderness, he doesn’t have ANY reason to feel any sort of way to her, and he practically adopts her and she feels safe with him. he recognizes her vulnerability as a child and does anything to protect her and guide her. this is what is meant by “something more,” their relationship from the beginning was something more than strictly destiny. destiny may have led them together, but it did not make them become family, they did that themselves. and later when geralt learns that ciri is the princess of cintra, the child surprise promised to him, does he even consider destiny as part of the equation. and this is actually what drives them apart, because geralt believes that he will and refuses to ruin her life by introducing her to the blade, and thus, death. because it’s not incredibly special that ciri is a child surprise, i wouldn’t say it’s horribly common, but it’s not like she’s the only one. and she’s definitely not the only child to be taken/taken in and raised by witchers. and geralt knows what being raised as a witcher is like, and he refuses to do that to her, because he actually loves this child as his daughter. and this is where the conflict stems from, because geralt spit in destiny’s face and said, fuck you, i’m not going to hurt this child. and destiny said, i’m going to hurt her anyways.
in the netflix series? the first time we see ciri... is in cintra! the surprise is RUINED!! child surprise, more like child already-revealed. the audience has no reason to watch anymore, because we already know who she is and what happens to her. they literally kill calanthe and eist off in the first episode, and then expect the audience to CARE about them during episode 4 when they adapted a question of price. in the books, dandelion telling geralt the accounts of the massacre of cintra was a heavy scene, it was a tragic scene, and you knew somehow that it was geralt’s fault because of how he had refuted destiny, you had the lore on your side if you had been reading the stories beforehand, you understood why this was happening and what has happened to ciri.
also side note, i sincerely think the massacre of cintra is better coming from geralt’s best friend, someone he’s known for years and trusts immensely, also a poet so his account is horrifyingly immaculate and it really hits that mark of chilling, rather than geralt just... idk being there? i didn’t watch this far but he showed up to cintra and calanthe threw him in jail? this makes no sense, why would she... anyways. but yes, dandelion is a character that serves to be there for geralt, so it makes sense for him to tell geralt about cintra because then geralt can respond and thus demonstrate to the readers/audience all of the emotions about it that he is feeling.
but yeah so to summarize, my thoughts are that ciri really comes off as a weaker character in the netflix series than in the books because:
they treated her as older and introduced her as the lion cub of cintra and not as just some child found in the woods, taking BOTH the “child” and “surprise” out of “child surprise”
they removed geralt’s paternal relationship to her and why exactly he is significant in her story, and hyped up the “destiny” thing instead, which came off as completely meaningless, not to mention annoying to hear repeated when there has been no significance developed behind the word. i mean, they cut out both brokilon and something more (i will NOT accept that scene as the ending scene of something more. that wasn’t a hug fit to pick your kid up from afterschool, much less a hug that you run towards your kid with when you thought they perished and you were responsible for it, when you risked your life just to maybe be able to see them again. there was also no dialogue, no “geralt, you’ve found me! after all this time! i knew it! i’m your destiny! say it, i’m your destiny? am i your destiny?” “you’re much more than that, ciri. much more.” so that sucked).
they chose an older actress for ciri, likely to evade having to respect their actors by working within the confines of child labor laws, but not only this, they treated her older in the narrative and made the viewer empathize with her instead of with geralt, the parent... ciri only is supposed to become a “relatable” character when she reaches 13 or 14, in blood of elves and in time of contempt.
they reduced the significance of how deep her trauma was from the massacre of cintra (she makes one offhand comment about how cahir had a bird on his head... that’s not gonna cut it for me. she’s so far experienced a total of zero nightmares about the black knight of cintra).
they gave her a bunch of filler scenes that had absolutely no impact on the broad story or her character development or relationships with other characters (doppler plot). they also made her arc surround unlearning being a princess and finding what epic powers she might have, and nothing comes from both of these points. she doesn’t develop any character because of these points, they’re just there for more filler.
a tad unrelated but: they made yennefer’s wanting a child more of an obsession than a goal the character just happens to have, and have sexualized her character immensely, moreso than in the books... plus the fact that they made her super appealing to the audience and to every other character including geralt from the start (she’s not someone who is icy at first, then warms up), makes me feel like we are never going to get ciri and yennefer at ellander. ever. i just can’t imagine it with this ciri and this yennefer from the netflix series.
