thoughts on starkid?

i’ve only seen the avpm stuff and know a handful of other songs lol…….avpm & ppp together really outstrip the actual canon

it’s one of those cases of “oh i like what i’ve already consumed so i fully intend to check out more, except oh wait, it’s been like 9-10 years and i Have Never Done That,” which is the case with sooooo much shit lmao :’)

i meant to get around to watching hmb with my brother in that he kept asking but i was big depressed and like Not Now Bro and then i ditched them all so mm saving that one for later then lmao in case we ever get to hang…still know a couple songs from it though. also i am aware they just now have that new musical but i havent seen it, which is line with my never seeing any of their non-avpm stuff…….

i like what i know though, i rewatched some of the content while drawing the other month and had as much fun as always. still know most of those songs mostly by heart so that’s a testimonial right? they’re really good at leaning into Conventions and Cliché to like, know how to be funny…and good songs from what i know…and fun choreography when they have kinda dancier bits…creativity w props and costumes and settings and you’ve got to admire that……and i mean to this day the zefron gag is just. every time

ummm just earlier i was thinking about how this one song makes me think it’s going to segue into granger danger and of course i can’t think off the top of my head what it was. and it was only like, six hours ago. i’ll come back to it. but speaking of, sometimes to celebrate bi rights i’ll look up some vid of joey richter and lauren lopez doing it live (not like as if it wasn’t live before, but you know what i mean) because they’re The Cutest and also like, great. everyone seems good at acting and singing and being funny and you’ve got to say “nice” to that, huh.

i don’t really have anything earthshattering to say huh!! i don’t know extremely a lot but we were all thrilled to have avpm back in the days it first came out. and i’m sure we’re still thrilled. to this day i’ve never figured out what exactly kind of entity it is…i know it comes From a certain university?? is it like…now just kind of attached? associated? i don’t know. but im impressed enough that they’re this like, smaller production thing and keep being creative and junk. like another thing that happens is seeing Ideas out there in other media and being like ok but didnt starkids do exactly that but like eight years ago and better?

also like whenever he crops up, like when i’m rewatching that delight of a Sincerely Me with william and the guy who they tell me is in the flash and darren crisstopher i’m like oh look its the harry potter man!!! or the one with william and alex boniello and darren chris and i’m like oh haha it’s harry potter look wow

how did you first discover/become a fan of harry potter: i saw it on my older brother’s desk when i was around 8 and picked it up since i was so bored(i get bored very very easily if you can tell) and man, i did not expect to fall into this magical, addicting world that has a been an endless journey of fascination and excitement.(wow, that sounded so professional and poetic)

favorite character(s): the marauders except peter(do i even have to explain), lily evans, hermione granger, luna lovegood, neville longbottom, minerva mcgonagall & all the weasely children & harry potter himself.(im pretty sure i missed a lot so fuck)

how many times have you reread and/or rewatched the series: i literally can’t remember how many times i’ve read the series so i’ll just say a lot cause i hav reread them a lot. the movies not so much. i watched the whole series once and then whenever there aren’t any new movies to watch, i pick a random one to watch so i’ve watched some movies way more than others.

favorite/least favorite hp book: i actually don’t have one? im too indecisive to choose which one i hate/like the most.

favorite/least favorite hp movie: half-blood prince-all those stupid changes

favorite marauder: i cant choose!!! but it’s definitely not peter.

if you could place any characters from another story (book/movie/tv show) into harry potter who would it be: can i just say how freakin hilarious it would be to watch jake peralta explore the hp world and all the amazing jokes he would make

favorite scene from the books: the part where sirius offers to take in harry after they clear his name and everything like i would cry if it had actually happened and they got to live together.

thoughts on cursed child?: never read it or watched and never will

thoughts on fantastic beasts?: loved it!!! newt was perfectly cast and all the other characters were just beautiful like jacob and all the magical creatures such as the niffler!!! i would own one even if it stole all my shiny things.

favorite fan-made thing to come out of the series (like fan art, fan fiction, avpm, that sort of thing): no favorites, the whole fandom is super talented and everything made is equally amazing in its own way.

one thing you wish hadn’t been left out of the movies: you can’t expect me to answer that because i would writing a whole freakin essay about it. trust me, i would.

do you have any favorite memories associated with the series: lots!!! it’s brought me so many happy memories and i’ve basically met all my mutuals from the hp fandom because everyone is beautiful and funny and super nice!!!
