Well did I just dedicate a substantial amount of time to working out the differences between Sungyoon and joochans singing and work out the nuances of their style and delivery as well as why when they deliver the same lines in burn it the emotional impact is different? Yes. Yes I did.

#in conclusion. sungyoon is trying to do a lot more stylist stuff with his chorus lines #which means live they can be a bit more prone to going off key (they often do)#but in the recording (and live too lol he always fixes his pitch quickly)#it does have more emotional impact #for example he adds vibrato that joochan doesn’t and then Adds a greater separation between the syllables of that long ‘fi-i-ine’#he kinda goes like ‘fi-I-i YE’#and detaches there #which gives it a bigger impact #but disconnecting from that ascending note sequence and pausing gives more risk of error #whereas joochan just goes right up #and tbf both are smart moves for differnt reasons and they really balance each other out :)#so there #thesis done for now #I still think sungyoon is a better singing but that’s mostly bc I’m a classical singer and so is he #whereas joochan is more pop which is totally fine #although imo he strains his high notes more and goes a bit too nasely and doesn’t have a proper vibrato #but liek. his live stability is no joke and his technique and stylistic choices rly help that #whereas sungyoons stylistic choices uh. hinder his live performance in terms of accuracy #but gives a heightened emotional impact :)#no one cares but here #I hope one day people stop calling sungyoon a weak vocalist bc they don’t undertand his stylistic choices lol #they also always give sungyoon the hardest parts which makes it easier for joochan to escape unscathed from the riskier vocal lines #but yeah #it’s like when I saw someone actually try to say jibeom sang better than sungyoon #I honestly #was ready to give up at that point
