Honestly, I think payola is happening for JK because it’s nearly impossible to make it onto Hot100 “organically” now. (No doubt he’s being pushed, with Scooter, BPD, radio stations, everybody and they mama posting and hyping Seven.) But we have to remember that Seven only has Itunes, Amazon, Qobuz buys, and no D2C, which was our most powerful tool in getting our JM the #1 he deserved. Without the company stepping in to support it with radioplay, the #1 on Hot100 would be impossible. Now the question is whether or not they will support PJM2 the way they’re pushing Seven. I’m withholding judgement until we see how the company treats PJM2.

Still, this doesn’t negate how LC had INSANE potential to be HUGE, and HYBE completely fumbled the fucking bag. And by fumbled I mean they just about dropped it over the rooftop of the building that JM and BTS built. Kicked it to the curb like it was worth nothing. And that pisses me off and it always will. But Jikookers, please try to tone back the hate towards JK. He doesn’t deserve it. some aroace people use one label because the general lack of both feels like one and the same to them, but I use both separately, cause I have different feelings about those and figured them out at different times. I think I don't get romantic feelings at all, while being somehow hyperromantic (ik the term is almost unheard of compared to hypersexual, but it works the same), while having some sexual attraction left as long as it's impossible to pursue, and being mildly repulsed by mentions of irl stuff/realistic depictions while being fascinated with fiction. It was really easy for me to say I'm ace and never want to actually do anything sexual, while admitting I'm aro is still hard, part of me just obsesses over romance. And I still get sensual attraction on the crossroads of aesthetical and platonic, which is really annoying and sets off the hyperromantic spiral

Science Fiction stories that have affected my own work very greatly

1. Star Wars

I mean, this is an obvious one. Much of America grew up on these six, because everybody's dad loved them, to the point where meeting somebody who's "never seen star wars" is an oddity, and, well, neither me or my dad are exceptions. They're good movies, with good lore, good plots, strong characters, writing and dialogue that's all across the spectrum, and exceptional action scenes. What's there more to say?

They're very much your "bread and butter" scifi, in the sense that it sets its stories within a world of cool-looking spaceships, quirky robots and wacky aliens, but doesn't examine or elaborate on much of it, but rather treats it all as a given, as a backdrop for the human stories. (Contrast against, say, Star Trek, which makes the scifi concepts themselves its focusing interest.) As a result, there's nothing terribly revolutionary to be found in Star Wars. I can't and won't call it generic, of course, because although it very much is a 'generic scifi world', many of the tropes we associate with 'generic scifi worlds' were codified here, and there's a lot going on behind the scenes, both on the political side, in the extended universe, and in ol' Georgie's brain.

And to call them creatively bankrupt would be a big enough lie to warrant legal repercussions, since there are a LOT of cool scifi ideas here, even if they aren't necessarily the story's focus. Repulsorlifts, Coruscant (I spelled that right first try), Podracing, the Sarlaac pit, Droidekas, the Death Star, cloud city, the VERY sufficient excuses for using swords in scifi, the list goes on.

In terms of how the franchise affected my work, I really couldn't give an estimate. I love space, and spaceships, and space battles, and have them often enough. Many of my stories focus on the human aspects, I seek out excuses for melee fights, I like generic goodguy-y heroes and I like strong personalities, but whether any of that comes from Star Wars or is a part of me, I couldn't say. Maybe there's no difference. I saw them as a youngling, so very long ago.

2. Republic Commando

Now I read these when I wasn't quite so young. These are good books, and they are very much Star Wars disillusioned. This is Star Wars separated from the main cast and the main plot or the black-and-white morality of simple stories. This is a squad of elite child soldiers suffering through the trenches of a war, getting hurt, going rogue, falling in love, shooting people in the head, while the adpoted father who trainedraised them tries to arrange an escape for his boys to a new home far away, until it all comes crashing down when you the reader knew it would but nobody in galaxy did, in Order 66. And then the series keeps going. It should have gone on longer but the Clone Wars TV show changed canon so much that the author quit. But you can tell it's still Star Wars because they mention Kenobi like twice and there is one (1) scene with Darth Vader.

In terms of scifi they're just Star Wars again, speeders and space battles and laser guns and stuff. Stories unconcerned with the concepts and the worldbuilding. But I think it goes a step beyond what the movies did, by abandoning any semblance of big-picture-ness or any of the large-scale plot, and focusing only on bit characters, while the larger story from the movies continues elsewhere. The series is ALL OCs. There is nobody here who would warrant a mention in any of the movies, and nobody here who influences galactic history. They influence each other. They love each other, hate each other. They feel real. The war feels real. And I think that's beautiful.

I think that smallness and ruggedness is what lasted into my work. I've never worldbuild-ed the names or histories of wars into my works, but I've liked writing about career soldiers struggling with peace. I've never made diagrams or specs for the weapons that they use, but I've written about the heat of a shell just ejected from a launcher. I've never written strategies for fleet movements, but I've written about spacers scrambling past a closing pressure door as the air leaks out of their room. And I've written about lesser species caught in the crossfire, I've written about jungles and dirty streets, and much of it ties back to this, I think.

3. Starship Troopers

This may very well be the first 'adult' book I ever read, and you should read it too. It was written in the 50s. It's about people in power armor who get dropped out of a spaceship. It's about a man rising through the ranks, learning the meaning of responsibility and leadership. It's about war, how 2 tons of flying robosuit can't save you but your friends and a timely dropship can. It's about duty, mankind become a warrior race to defend themselves in a savage galaxy. It's about honor and discipline. This story invented the concept of power armor, coined the term 'starship', inspired a dozen franchises. It forces the characters and the reader to think about the nature of war, the necessity of sacrifice and duty, the price of security, the nature of freedom, the shortcomings of democracy.

You should read it. It's peak scifi. It's exciting. It's thought-provoking. It's imaginative. It's incredibly, noxiously fascist. It's so so good. You should read it.

I've always loved power armor and jet packs and alien bugs, my stories have them all, and it's this book's fault. Certainly a lot of my really early work was based on it, but I never outgrew a good bug or a good robosuit.

I have never seen the movies, but there was a 1999 TV show that had the Worst CGI ever, and my brothers and I used to love it. However, no adaptation of this book has ever gotten the power armor right except the 1988 anime.

4. Blame!

Too many millennia ago to count, the automated construction drones stopped listening to orders to stop. The Earth, the moon, every piece of matter in the solar system and who knows how far beyond, have been disassembled, all proceeds going to grow the City. The City is all. The City has no end. The characters do not know the meaning of 'land'. The security system of the godlike internet is spawning exterminator drones to destroy all humans who lack the net terminal gene. Clutish transhumans who thrive in the chaos have made it their duty to render the gene extinct. The only hope of stopping the City's growth and shutting down the security system is to issue the internet an order, which requires a human with the gene. The gene may be extinct. Our main character, an immortal cyborg who has been climbing stares for hundreds of panels and thousands of years, is still searching. He has a really cool gun. His girlfriend is an 8ft tall hacker girl who does not have a cool gun and dies like 5 times. His arch-nemiss has a cool gun too. There are... Monsters.

I didn't read this comic until much later in my life, but the setting and the art and the ultra-high-concept action affected me deeply and greatly. If I could, in my entire life, write a single story even 20% as cool, as wonderfully illustrated, as packed with thought and concepts and sheer unbridled IMAGINATION as this one, I would die of pride. This comic is an endlessly-inspiring emblem of what scifi storytelling can be, an ideal I've been striving for since I first read it. If you ever see a massive maze-like spaceship in my works, any abandoned megastructure, any messily-detailed cyborg torso, any unreasonably-powerful weapon, and most of all any BIG OL' HONKIN GANGLE OF PIPES, (and I guaratee if you follow me you WILL see such things) know that it came from this comic.

5. Flatland

Okay, so this one is the reason I actually started this list. Apparently something in the Book of Bill that just came out was based pretty heavily on it, so now a bunch of people are rediscovering it and referencing it in the year of our Lord 2024. But that led to me rewatching the 2007 film, and realizing some of my work has taken from it pretty heavily.

The idea of the book (and its various adaptations) is that there's this oppressive, closed-minded society of 2-dimensional beings living on flatland. One day a circle comes to visit from spaceland, and shows our square protaganist all the wonders of a higher world beyond the one he can see. At its heart, the story is (A) about the dangers of closed-mindedness against possible higher truths, (B) an exploration into how 2-dimensional creatures would function and how higher-dimensional beings might interact or fail to interact with those of lower dimensionality (C) honestly not really scifi at all but I left it on this list because I've used some of its concepts here and there in my universe, and I find it all so very fascinating. If you see any of my characters navigating a 5-dimensional hyperspace or see any creatures evolved to inhabit the surface of a neutron star, know that the unlikely father of such ideas was this story from 1884.

6. Metroid

Well duh. Many of my followers probably know me as The Metroid Guy. Heck I know me as the Metroid guy.

I am the Metroid guy.

Metroid is about this lady in a suit of tank armor wandering around on lonely alien planets filled with monsters. She's a genetically-altered cyborg who was raised by an ancient society of aliens. The environments in Metroid are sometimes harsh, sometimes serene, sometimes ugly, sometimes beautiful, sometimes all at once. The music is captivating. In the first-person games you can see the rain making drips on your visor. When you stop moving she rests her hand on her gun as if relaxing. Nothing in the scary universe scares her, thus, neither does it scare you the player. The games do an excellent job of immersing the players in a faraway land.

I adore this series not for the scifi concepts (as many of them are either half-thought-out nonsense, made purely to look pretty, or derived straight from whatever videogamey gimmick the developers thought would be easy to implement) but for the feelings of confidence, wonder, exploration, and lonely peace. I have several future projects inspired by these parts of Metroid, and they are very dear to me.

In my studied opinion, if Samus was the protaganist of Blame, we would see a marked increase in the number of audience members dying from Peak Fiction.

7. Alien

Long-headed monkey made of pipes is having a Grand Olde Time on this rusty spaceship, what an insane concept 10/10 I wish I was made of pipes.

My dad told me the plot of this movie when i was like 8 and traumatized me, as he should. If in my stories you ever see any rusty spaceships, folks made of pipes, or involuntary pregnancies in the wrong part of the torso, blame my dad.

I’ve been sucked into one piece so bad and now really want to make an OC. So I had an idea for a character whose inspired by old maritime/pirate folklore of witches and sea witches.

I’m struggling though with how to go about that. So should it be like a devil fruit thing? Or a friend suggested I just come up with a separate race/tribe like the Kuja? I’m so lost with what direction to take with this 😭

For some info I want to put my OC with the straw hats and want to avoid them just being this insanely over powered person. I did find when researching that some background character from a later arc is categorized as a ‘sorcerer’ but don’t really know what that implies.

Hi, welcome to the chaotic world that is One Piece and welcome to my blog!

I really love the idea of making an OC based off of pirate folklore! Sounds like there would be a lot of cool things to do there! The way I see it, you have four options:

Option 1: A devil fruit. I think a Mythical Zoan would be your best bet. Probably a Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Sea witch. You could put that in One Piece and nobody would bat an eye. Just remember that your OC wouldn't be able to swim. Do you want that for a sea witch?

Option 2: A new tribe/race. This is an option that gives you a lot of freedom because you can pretty much do whatever. You could create a race that has devil fruit style powers as part of their DNA. Oda has done that too. It comes with a few issues though. First of all, your OC's powers wouldn't be unique, because there's a whole tribe of sea witches. This could be good or bad. Second of all, there's a possibility that the World Government or other organizations hunt that tribe down. Once again, this could be good or bad for your story. Maybe this also makes your OC unique again because they're the only one of their kind left? Or at least one of few. This would, of course, have a strong effect on your OC's story and a lot of things that happen to them, so make sure to really consider if you want this.

Option 3: Science. I won't go too much into detail because of spoiler reasons, but incredible things are possible through One Piece science. This would most likely link your OC to a group of people or a specific person who develops said funky science and that's a connection with a lot of lore implications, so you should evaluate if you want that. Implications don't always need to turn into something big, but they can. If this is the option you decide to go for, let me know and I'll tell you more about that science and the people involved, but it will probably contain at least some spoilers, so be warned.

Option 4: It is what it is. I'm not kidding, this is a totally valid option that has been pulled by Oda multiple times. Your sorcerer example would fall under this option, though I believe he hasn't actually been seen practicing sorcery in any canon material. A canon example of this however is a certain woman who, for some reason, can accurately tell the future using a crystal ball. No one knows why. Never explained. And still completely canon. So, if none of the other options speak to you, going "it is what it is" is still a completely valid option.

Maybe as a sort of guideline of how I dealt with a similar issue:

My oldest One Piece OC used to be firmly in the Option 2 category. She's based off of mythology, mostly of Greek Myth, the goddess Selene in particular. Just going "oh yeah, she comes from a race of people who are just like that" worked really well for me for, I dunno, six years? But then a new manga chapter came along with a new lore drop and I thought I'd have to drop my OC's concept for good because it coincided/collided too much with the new lore drop. But then another lore drop happened and I was able to save her through sprinkling in some of Option 3.

The lore drop destroying my concept was purely bad luck. So you'll probably be doing really well with Option 2 if you commit to it. It might take a bit of worldbuilding, but you could also not explain anything. Both works. And if that fails, science can save your butt.

Also, I'm currently working on a new One Piece OC who falls into Option 4, simply because a mermaid being unable to swim would be a little stupid, so I can't give her a devil fruit, and her being involved with funky science just wouldn't suit her character that well. Also, I already kinda pulled that with said oldest OC, so I don't really wanna do it again.

Creating OCs is very situational, but sometimes "fuck around and find out" works surprisingly well or is the only thing that works. Mix and match things together. Run with a certain idea until canon throws a wrench in the works. Adjust things and make stuff up as you go. Sometimes, it's just about taking that first step, the rest will come all on its own.

i'm almost positive there was some psychological manipulation in some way yes, but for the most part len isn't pretending to pity it, he genuinely does feel some worry for it and monitors its' wellbeing (then again tho its in a slightly fcked up way w/ his idea of 'things being better this way')

its' anatomy is kinda very fucked up yes lmaoo, i was to trying to see how many wrong places i can have limbs in or how many limbs i can bend the wrong way with it still looking somewhat coherent, so the bones are definitely messed up ye... despite that drawing i don't think it actually can fully stand upright, it mostly moves around by crawling around (always envisioned the movement kinda like a spider/centipede but a bit... worse-looking?). i'm almost certain it is in some form of constant pain yes! even in spite of getting used to its' state after a while... it probably can contort itself and occasionally shift limbs and stuff to some degree ye, but also that's just my bullshit explanation for me drawing it super inconsistently b/c it's hard asf to draw okay 😭😭

Not easy, but surely really interesting.

Using the word love is not straight-up aphobic. It isn't a "wrong" or "bad" word in any way.

Love is a difficult concept, and the definition varies from one person to another, so what may trigger somebody may be perfectly fine for someone else.

I personally prefer not using it (or putting an alternative wording near), but it is mainly due to my pettiness, my wish to be as inclusive as I can, and the fact that sometimes it bugs me to read/think about it. But this is my thought, and it's based on my personal relationship with the concept of love in our society. It can be different for other people. (It probably is).

You don't have to act like an allo person to fit in: if something makes you uncomfortable, they will respect you. Otherwise, they're probably not the group of persons you will want to fit in.

You can have really valid reasons to use the word, and nobody can tell you that your feelings and your sensibility on this matter are wrong. Just pay attention to other people, too.

The "I love you"s aren't what makes a blog aphobic.

If you think you could support the aspec community more, here are some suggestions. Obviously, those are only a few, but they can be valid point from which you can start. (Is it that obvious I really enjoy lists?)

Aspec related posts! If you see a cool art, an interesting discussion, a rant you can understand and relate to (or one you can't, but you still want to support them), an informational post about a label not well known, even just some random "aspec people are valid" post, reblog them! (Every time I'm randomly scrolling and I see one of those, it warms my heart!)

Trigger warnings tags. To tag things properly is important, but, often, people forget tws for things like romance, sex mention, or aphobia. I find them quite useful, and probably romance/sex repulsed people do too.

No aphobia. Seems obvious, but pay attention that none of your posts contain messages that can be offensive for aspec people. This includes but is not limited to: "love is all that matters"/"love is love" signs; exclusionists (people who don't belive aspecs are part of the lgbtqia+ community) posts; posts that say that a certain label under the aspec umbrella doesn't exist; and every other message that invalidates our experiences and feelings.

Another pretty obvious one, not strictly related to the blog as it works irl, too, do not invalidate aspec people's experiences. This includes fictional characters.

Be open to dialogue: if somebody tells you something is making them uncomfortable, or that you could do something better,be open to changes and constructive criticism.

This is pretty much all I can think of right now. Those are general points that are always useful to keep in mind, but, obviously, there can be more.

Bradley GT2 Midnight Film

There are a couple looks here that capture the Bradley GT2 flavor and I want us when it's lower down and from behind the other is the side view but it's up high probably 20 ft in the air and you'll see what we mean the front is low and it looks good without a bumper on the outside and you need one on the outside no on the inside would be nice and the front could have some sort of cowl accent. Not sure this was what you had in mind when you sent those asks, but now it's too late to back down ahah I should probably warn the readers that some of my opinons could come off as brutal or too pessimistic. Well, I'm sorry, but I tried my best rational approach. Please don't hate me?

Ok, so...I have very mixed feelings about this episode, too. Regarding BH mostly, but also in general. As much as I tried to enjoy the writers' wobbly attempt at explaining the whole duplicity of Dale/Vale, it was all so chaotic that I'm sure there'll be someone - me included - who's gonna need a second or even third watch.

The best parts, and I'm saying this with all honesty, were - hands down - double Reggies and double Jugheads interacting.

Plus, honorable mention for Veronica going all "here's to Vughead becoming canon". The fact that they chose Vughead instead of Jeronica (the second one is cuter, if you ask me), says it all on who will lead the couple LOL Even though the concept of Reggie #1 and Reggie #2 is cool and all, bringing Ross back might confuse the heck out of casual viewers or people who hasn't been binging S1 recently. If the concept of multiple Jugheads - and paradox in general - is quite tricky to portray using the same actor for all doppelgangers, imagine bringing in another actor entirely. We appreciated it and find it funny, an homage if you will, but most of the audience is bound to be confused. My take on Bughead is probably going to make me unpopular, but I thought I was going to be more excited and happier. But all I felt was happy-sad. They kissed to "re-enact" a BA moment. Also,m as Jughead tries to explain, since he takes Archie's place, there was no need to replicate the 'scene' with the same people. So in the end, any couple could have kissed on that bed to ensure the cosmic alignment or whatever. It so happened that Betty was there, so we got a Bughead kiss, but...Should I think that's remotely romantic? Like, for real? No, sorry, I can't go that far. It was necessity and they approached the whole thing rather rationally. Of course, we can imagine they felt "something" during that kiss, and that maybe it triggered old feelings. But please, please remember those were Vale Bughead, as far as we know they might not have had the same background Dale Bughead had. Betty mentioned her biggest struggle was to choose between Archie and Jughead in 6x01, but do we know how long BH were together?

Do we know if it was as intense and immersive like the relationship they had in the "real" universe?

No. Nobody had that knowledge - I believe not even the writers went as deep as developing such a complete backstory for all the characters/relationships in Vale. Like, I might have missed it, but is there any reference to Varchie being in a long, turbulent relationship, either? We don't know. There's minimum background.

Did I enjoy their scenes together?

Of course I did, but if you keep context in mind, you can't honestly tell me everything felt "normal" and "comfortable". And I'm not referring to the chemistry between Cole and Lili. As usual, there was A TON. The scene in the living room, when they're both teary eyed broke me. It broke my heart, ok? It brought me back to 2x21 and Jug's last call to the love of his live to tell her he'd always love her. I'm talking about two characters desperate to save two universes, but not for the sake of being together again. But to save their lives and the ones of the people living on the other side. It's noble and genuinely selfless of them, yes, but in terms of Bughead meaning...I didn't see much of it. If you did, please comment and share your reasoning. I'm open to more optimistic and creative interpretations. I mean if I have to like BH scenes - regardless of the context and WHO these characters are and the story they shared in Vale, which is basically NONEXISTENT aside from "crumbs" - then YES!, give me more makeout sessions on carrot-top bed and killing bride Betty. I think Sophia Soto meant this when she tweeted BH had the "best content, given the context". The context either being a) they're not kissing because they're getting back together, but because they were the two people available at that time or b) they're kissing but it's not in Riverdale. But, knowing what we know, that RiverVale storylines will forever be independent from Riverdale's, that no matter what happened on Vale, BH will probably not remember any of it in the main universe... Can I voluntarily sign up to that and be happy? Excuse me if I choose not to.

Narrator Jughead told Betty she'd eventually FORGET Jug's EXISTENCE, he'll completely FADE from her memory. We've been going on and on about pro-Bughead-reunion symbolism hidden in every small detail and crevice of the plot for weeks -me included - and we're going to ignore THIS? Symbolism can work both ways, whether we like it or not. In favor or against our ship. That's a fact and the sooner we come to terms with that, the sooner we'll be able to process whatever is going to be thrown our way, ship-wise. What if both Riverdale Jug and Betty are destined to forget, too?

What's more, Narrator!Jughead, the only Jughead showing his face in RiverVale, never dated Betty. That was RiverVale Jughead which is now tightly buried alive in the bunker of doom, eating burgers and writing incessantly. Narrator Jughead and Betty don't have hystory together.

In the end, the choice to settle for - rather ambiguous - crumbs or to give to those crumbs the lowest value, is very subjective.

I am not personally interested in settling for the BH content we got in 6x05, but I won't judge anyone who chooses to do so. This is a nice, welcoming fandom and people should be allowed to have different opinions, as long as they're able to express them politely.

All being said, I am of course, willing to admit I'm wrong and still hope for Bughead being endgame. I mean that's why I'm still here, sticking around in this struggling fandom. I do wish Betty and Jughead will end up together eventually. It's just hard for me to see the light, right now.

Bonus downpoint (I'm feeling extra tonight): I see people screaming "Betty killed Archie, this is BH endgame material!" What? killing Archie in a universe in which nobody stays dead for long? That's just meaningless. It's like Betty goes "okay, Imma shoot him in the head but he'll come back at some point, so it's all good". And for this reason I think we shouldn't rely too much on Betty's actions regarding Archie's premature departure (both times). PS: do we have CONFIRMATION that Betty and Archie didn't go through with the wedding in Vale? Because if not, then my "Jughead is writing his romantic happy ending with Betty in Val and nobody is gonna take that away from him" theory goes right down the drain, since BAs would be officially married.

I know literally nobody cares but I'm doing a first impression review of The Ssum (because my otome blog is p much dead at this point)

The good:

-I like that you can set your own schedule! That's a really nice change from MysMess where you had chats happening at hours you might not be awake or might be busy.

-It's kinda cool that the game takes place over the span of 200 days. I feel like that's fun and there's a lot of ways to get content from that.

-The community features are really nice! I like that the game has its own built in social media app for you to communicate with other players, I think that's so fun.

-The bgm is really soothing and nice.

-Pets are always a welcome addition.

The bad:

-The artstyle is.... eh. I don't *hate* that they took a slightly more realistic direction, and some of the CGs are really cute. But some of them are really uncanny valley and dare I say it... the ultra pale skin and lack of nose definition in some of them makes Teo look like James Charles 😭 Also the backgrounds look like stock images w filters over them. They're not bad but... I miss having drawn backgrounds.

-Teo as a character is... well... he's very cute and sweet, and I appreciate him being an awkward dork. But he's unfortunately bland to me: and I feel like this is less of a flaw with the writing and more of a flaw with the game itself. I actually have two points to make about this:

1) The ssum itself seems to revolve around an app that connects you to your "special someone", which is something I kinda assume is like... your soulmate maybe? But the thing is, Teo is the game's only character. If you make *one* character to be the soulmate of every single person who plays the game, well... of course he's going to turn out to be a bit bland. Everyone has different things they like and dislike in an otome game character-- some people think tsunderes are cute while others think they're mean. Some people think possessive characters are sexy and others think they're scary. So if you wanted to make someone appeal to everyone, it'd be hard to give them any meaningful flaws and quirks. I personally don't understand the design choice of making Teo the only character-- the game itself has a personality test feature, so wouldn't it make more sense to have a cast of different characters and to connect players to them based on their personality test results? This also gives a degree of replayability to the game since they could try to get different results each time, with the one they got playing organically as their "true ending". But perhaps that's not how the game is meant to be played, bringing me to my next point:

2) I've heard from a lot of people that Teo is supposed to change depending on how you speak to him, which makes me wonder-- maybe instead of being a traditional dating sim where you fall for the characters as they are, you're supposed to change one character into your ideal partner? I'm sure that's an interesting concept to some, but to me, it feels a little too much like nintendogs or some other pet simulator where you have to train them. That kind of concept isn't really appealing to me, bc I play dating sims to meet these different characters, get insight into what makes them who they are, and fall for them. So maybe this isn't a *bad* game per se, just not for me.

The ugly:

-Cheritz. I'm begging you to please stop with the microtransactions. I know you need the money but I cannot afford these subscription services and there's no ingame way to grind for currency. Please fix it.

-Some of the mechanics are not really intuitive and take a lot of guesswork. More detailed instructions and a better translation would be really helpful for those parts-- I don't mind the translation for Teo's dialogue since he is Korean and it makes sense his English wouldn't be perfect, but it is still important for us to understand how to play the game.

Once again, this is just my first impression, so I might change my mind as I play the game and discover more about it. But it really depends on what they show me. If anyone has any other insight to offer me; please feel free!

They weren't proper ships, without real steering or real propulsion, literally just luxury life pods shot out from the statesman, like the sort a fancy excursion might use for a brief spacewalk. A third of them don't even make it to earth. The Valkyrie and Bruce Banner make it and land in the desert of New Mexico. Banner wants to go and tell the avengers about Thanos; he doesn't really have a conception about how much time has passed bc he's not used to space travel. He thinks maybe the avengers can go out and help Thor.

The Valkyrie is like there's no point: either Thor and Loki have defeated Thanos and they will join us shortly or they are dead and we need to defend this realm. My kings ordered me to take care of our people. I intend to do that.

Banner tells her either way they have to inform the avengers. The Valkyrie is confused.

Heimdall looks at him very pointedly.

Tony asks the aesir for help fighting the coming invasion. The Valkyrie and Heimdall say they will fight but their people are not warriors. Tony makes some snide comment about how he thought thor came from a land of Vikings.

All our great warriors gave their lives to defend our realm. We are what remain.

No changes on vormir except that thanos comes out of it emotionally fragile. He's more willing to die for his ambition than ever before. No more grand speeches. He's lost his daughter.

Everybody meets up in wakanda. Shuri takes vision to see if she can take the stone out of his head. Strange and Shuri talk about medical technology. Shuri says Strange is stuck on a primitive ways of thinking about the body and technology but she's willing to show him around.

Strange refuses to be parted from the time stone. Somebody suggests that he uses it to create a time loop when Thanos shows up so that they get infinite turns to try and beat him until they do. Strange says he can't lock this many people in a time loop. It's too hard logistically.

Steve, tony, and tchalla go for the perimeters to set up defensive points at intervals of a hundred meters between the city and the shield. Steve and Tony have a chat. Tony asks if their falling out was fucking worth it all just because Steve couldn't let go of a fuckin brainwashed murderer. Steve says fairly evenly that if Tony thinks a brainwashed murderer is all bucky is to Steve, then tony doesn't understand what it means to love somebody

Tony snaps his fuckin mouth shut and goes back to bitterly stewing. It's bc he doesn't know what it means to love somebody other than himself. So sad.

Thanos' army arrives. Big fight. No real changes. They're actually holding their own pretty well until Thanos comes down out of his ship. He busts the city shield and carves his way binto the building where vision was being kept, but vision and Wanda have escaped. Shuri is still there. She fights him. She loses. He's gonna kill her unless she tells him where vision went to, but she won't.

Strange busts in. He tries to fight Thanos. He can beat Thanos but he can't do it while shuri is in the way. Thanos can't take the time stone from him. Strange agrees to give him the stone but he has to let the girl go. She's a child. She's not part of all of this. Thanos agrees bc emotional fragility. He's on the verge of breaking after this encounter

Thor storms the field with all of the galaxy guardians. No moment with Capt America bc I hate him.

No changes to vision's death. Wanda burns the shit out of Thanos but she gets knocked out

Thanos has all the stones. He is battered, he is wounded, his mind is reeling and he is dead on his feet. But he cannot rest yet. He has his purpose still.

Stormbreaker crashes out of the sky. It cracks Thanos in the chest. Thor follows. He takes Thanos by the neck and pushes the blade in.

You killed my brother.

I.... didn't. He is still alive.

Thor is startled.

Thanos does the snap.

So like. I feel like Mitzi is a Good Amount younger than the rest of the band like she was in highschool when she joined, the rest of em were all Adults™ and she was a little bit nervous about it because...... ADULTS™

She was just lookin for a place to get her singing voice out there, because ya girl REALLY wanted to perform, and showbiz happened to have a slot open, but she did not expect all of the members to be older than her (although looking back, she realized she probably should have expected that)

It was intimidating at first but Billy Bob and Fatz were just the absolute sweetest and they introduced her properly to the rest of the band because she was like "oh I barely talk to them because I get nervous :(" and the resident dads p much said "aight we can do all the talking for you then, how about that?" And badabing badaboom she's now attached to these two and like honestly who isn't or maybe that's just me but ANYWAYS I feel like the band would become a second home/safe space for her

Yeah fr some reason I have BIG long headcannon for her joining the band but the rest of them? Nobody knows how they got there for all I know they just Showed Up One Day

Which got me thinkin about what my headcannons were as far as sexuality/gender stuff

And I find the concept of Billy Bob being Very Much Straight And Ignorant but trying his hardest to be a good ally SO funny like if someone came out to him he'd probably be like "oh!! I don't understand why you would choose that lifestyle but I respect you!!" not realizing how incredibly stupid he sounds sjkrjh like I don't think he can very easily wrap his head around how people are just. not cishet. so he's like "OH then it must be a choice, right? like you can choose to be gay but you're born straight. Right?" and everyone just shakes their heads in the background but he does earnestly try his best and my man would rather DIE than disrespect someone's pronouns I know this for sure

Fatz is pretty similar, straight ally and a lil confused but he's got the spirit, you know? He still least knows being gay (as well as,,, m o s t sexualities that aren't straight, although some he doesn't get/know about at all) isn't a choice but he hasn't quite grasped that being trans is also not a choice. He will respect your pronouns to hell and back but by god he doesn't get it,,, he's trying though and he feels very accomplished in himself that he's starting to get the hang of using they/them even though he slips up a lot

The rest of the band encourages the HELL out of these two because they're. Trying their best and making an honest effort which is more than a pretty good chunk of people would give

Rolfe, Earl, and Dook are the reasons Billy Bob and Fatz are trying so hard to understand it lmao

Rolfe took it upon himself to hang up a MASSIVE gay pride flag backstage, being the flaming homosexual that he is, and the rest of the squad quickly realized "oh he's GAY gay he wasn't kidding" because at first they literally thought he was joking as he was actually just being openly and obnoxiously a raging mlm (and like I mean no shade to him this isn't me tryna to make fun of it because my dumb sapphic ass almost crashed my car once because I saw a pretty girl walk down the street. And by "once" I mean. Yesterday.) Anyways yeah that's when the rest of em Realized and were like "OH" but after the massive pride flag was hung up that prompted Dook to come out and they were all like "???? YOU TOO????"

Dook is a non-binary ICON he's a demiboy and goes by both he/him and they/them and probably would have a bunch of pride pins I think,,, I'm not really sure of his sexuality though!! honestly he kinda gives me bisexual vibes but Who Knows . Not me. He has a HELL of a time trying to explain his gender to the rest of the band (except for Rolfe because like. He's a part of the community so he knows) and basically he was met with "so you're just a dude but ✨spicy✨?" and it was like, "no, but I have no idea how to explain it in a way that will make sense to you, so. yes?" And that explanation seemed to suffice for most of them

Mitzi went in knowing NOTHING about what being non-binary was so she asked a l o t of questions about it, which Dook just kinda dealt with answering (he's heard most of it before, and it gets tiring after a while. if you're nb or trans or honestly any part of LGBTQ+ you know what I mean) but he thought it was really sweet of her to be so determined to learn about it and eventually she did get a grasp on it ish, so she was able to understand why it wasn't just ✨spicy male✨ (the conversation pretty much went "well if i was just male, don't you think I would label myself that way instead?" "....oH TRUE!!!") and she ended up a VERY passionate ally, and she'll ask occasionally about how to be better at it, bein a queen as she is 👉👉 also definitely started questioning her sexuality after a while and just went with "maybe bicurious" and Rolfe, Dook, and Earl were all like "ONE OF US, ONE OF US"

Earl has never once spoken about his sexuality in his life, because 1. He's very aware that's an awkward conversation to have with a puppet, and 2. He's aroace anyways, which is basically what people assume even if they don't realize it just for their own peace of mind, because seriously, puppets and any identity that ISN'T aroace creates a really uncomfortable mental image for... Most people, pretty much. So it's not like he ever needed to say anything about it, which is convenient for him because he wouldn't want to say anything either way. not worth the risk of embarrassing himself and making everyone feel awkward

(side note ish though Rolfe 100% came out to Earl first and was met with "I already knew that but okay." Rolfe was mildly offended)

And spEAKING OF EARL he's VERY much sentient but he can't say he's particularly enthusiastic about it because Rolfe has to carry him around everywhere

He can move on his own but it's limited and generally annoying to maneuver around with his tiny body so he just says screw it half the time and stays on Rolfe's arm or hitch a ride on Random Object, but like... Yeah, the majority of the time Rolfe just has to deal with only having one arm available and a puppet directly next to him making fun of him at every possible chance

They high-key have chaotic and unorganized college roommate vibes (like they're actually roommates because... Where tf is Earl supposed to go?? So Rolfe took him in) and idk if this is really like a part of my headcannons or if I just think it's funny so I keep entertaining the idea of it but I think it would be Fantastic if Rolfe had no idea how to cook but Earl somehow did so this idiot is trying to take instructions from a puppet, who can't physically show him what to do, and it's like Hell's Kitchen live featuring a furry and a sentient stuffed animal

Aaaaamd going off of my Rolfe and Earl headcannons still Rolfe for SURE has some sort of executive dysfunction issue. ADD or ADHD I'm not sure (probably ADHD) but he definitely has it also this totally isn't just me projecting how dare you accuse me of that

He knows not everyone thinks it's as cool as he does so he tries to keep his mouth shut but when someone asks about it he can't help himself and will infodump a LOT, also haha drumming stims go brrrr, playing the drums isn't really a stim but he likes to just take his drumsticks and whack em around in the air and get that good ol Wavy Arm Action (wavy arms is best stim change my mind you can't it's GOOD)

Also i bbbbelieve earlier I reposted somethin about someone else headcannoning that he has echolalia, which I don't really know enough about to say anything on it??
