i still think bluejay/golden boy is still a cutieful superhero nickname. it’s very young upstart sidekick type thing. like leland would be very peter parker about the entire thing. like he’s fighting for his life to do the superhero thing right while also making sure to call his mom and let her know he’s doing okay and yes he will pick up the milk and bread and be home for dinner after… this thing… don’t worry about the thing it’s nothing bad i’m totally fine!

upon further thought i do also think, somehow, his powers will have manifested or been given to him from originally being just some kid who like, got in the middle of some kind of bad situation going down bc he’s yk, goodhearted. guy who is so inherently paladincore he gets chosen by someone or some entity for protecting someone innocent. despite getting his ass beat probably.

anyway he takes it upon himself, of course, to deal with everything ever that goes wrong in the city. like someone’s gotta!!! and i think w/ the dedication to the superhero life he gets more alienated from his normal one and gets lonely. and realizes the more he makes himself known to the bad people the more he possibly puts the people he loves in danger, but he can’t just stop doing what he’s doing??? and then he also meets his new friends and they can be the misfit gang 2gether eventually. and he can worry them on the regular! by being very injured very often and ALWAYS being in a situation over his head
