how come you don't like Hamilton?

omg when did i get this ask?? I must never have seen it bc my tumblr savior blocked the word hamilton

anyways theres a LOT of reasons why I don’t like hamilton. between how flippant it is towards black culture and history depicting slaveowners and supporters of slavery as black, how simply irritating it is to see and hear, how much people parroted about it until it got on my nerves so much i blacklisted it, and personal reasons to hate it, I’m just sick to death of remembering it exists. obviously im not the best person to ask about its antiblack attitude since im not black and theres some parts of it that will inevitably go over my head due to lack of personal experience, but portraying people like washington and jefferson as black is so obviously insensitive come on. 

plus as a kind of personal note ive seen people i know prop it up as a figurehead of puerto rican pride because Lin-Manuel Miranda is puerto rican and that really irritates me. theres plenty of other major puerto rican figures around to talk about to show your pride, picking the one thats made something so antiblack is just insensitive and wrong. being half puerto rican myself it just makes me really uncomfortable. we already have antiblack stigma within latinx communities as a whole, we really dont need this making matters worse.
