it was a witch rp with some friend, lowkey died cause we tend to hop from obsession to obsession. imperatrix umbrosas was the title of said rp, title comes from genshin impact (means shadow empress).

𝐂𝐗𝐈𝐗. Approximate time of the Cataclysm's lasting effects in Teyvat.

While this was already hinted over a year ago, it's pretty interesting to see a more solid confirmation that the effects of the Cataclysm lasted for at least a whole century considering that 400 years ago Fontaine was still struggling with it (namely with Elynas, no idea if more to be mentioned in the future the more we learn about Fontaine's past).

It's a bit sad that only venti and zhongli have the same naming pattern for their constellations and that nahida and ei just have unrelated constellation names first of all because zhongli's has a really funny name and secondly because all archons having the same naming pattern would have been interesting but also zhongli and venti specifically being the two who have the same style of name makes sense i guess considering how they're the only two left of the original seven archons

What is the Leyline Bard AU??

A question literally no one has asked but I like explaining anyway

In Imperatrix Umbrosa II, there are three major interactions with the memories of the dead. Ei tells us that they are the last recorded instances of the respective person's moments, and as such, they can only perceive the world from the perspective that the world was in when they died. The three warriors understood their archon was in danger, and reacted as though the enemies were specifically from the cataclysmic war. Old ghosts in the present, only able to recognize the past.

In the Hidden Strief event, aka Diluc's skin release, there was a red leyline blossom that physically brought back the enemies, and the state of Dawn Winery during that time period. At least, that's the explanation I'm going with, because the other one is just that Diluc decided to leave all his old letters out in chronological order that we would find every other day to piece together the event timeline. Old ghosts AND their past being brought to the present moment, a terrible collusion.

Then we have GAA 2. A series where not only the past is brought back to the present, but the actual manifestation of past regrets and mournful memories are brought up to make the people there face their past and overcome it. They called this the difference that willpower made, what decides the differences between "dreams" and "hallucinations". The work of technology working the leylines to mimic the powers of Nahida.

Finally, as explained in the fic, Venti recalls how Thousand Year Wine is made from the first moments of its corking, with dandelion seeds carrying the soul of the people making the wishes for the year and bottling the wine. When Venti pulls out the long forgotten bottle for himself and Lumine to drink, that moment is shared and the frequent exposure and strain on Irminsul brings out a Bard from the morning of the final battle, who is unable to leave until their goal is completed. To take down the tyrant in the skies.

Only Decarabian has been dead for a long, long time, and isn't Mondstadt openly resting under the true sky ??

This au in which you/oc/traveler/creator (whatever you prefer) finds the Raiden shogun puppet damaged from her fight in Ei's story quest act 2 Imperatrix Umbrosa. You take her to your home and fix her up. (also Wanderer, Scaramouche, and Kunikuzushi also stay with you. Don't question it. Okay....XD).

Crystalfly Lore

If you play Genshin long enough, you may come across flying creatures that look similar to butterflies called crystalflies, which drop crystal cores that can be used in crafting and such. The crystalflies look unassuming at first but their descriptions in the archives actually have some pretty interesting parallels to some characters/other creatures in the game.

Some spoilers ahead!

Anemo crystalflies

They say that the flapping of a butterfly’s wings has the power to whip up a storm.

The description speaks to how Venti has another side to him that seems different from how he is normally viewed. He may look like a simple bard or a tiny wind sprite to others, but he does has the power to split mountains with wind (Golden Archipelago 1.6).

The entire Golden Apple Archipelago, previously known as the Haar Islands according to Venti, was created when Venti sliced off the tops of Mondstadt’s mountains and they fell into the ocean landing upside down. It’s very impressive considering the fact that we only ever really see Venti/Barbatos as a wind sprite or a human bard, which look very harmless at first. There is clearly a lot more to Venti than what meets the eye.

Electro crystalflies

Could the flashing light in the dark might be the entrusted faith of a certain someone…

That “certain someone” in the description seems to to suggest that it’s about Makoto. After going through Ei’s stories, we see the important role that her twin sister played in her life. They were obviously close, so it would not be out of the question to say that Makoto trusted Ei. There are a number of times where we see Makoto entrusting various forms of her faith to Ei.

Military and warfare/physical protection of Inazuma when Makoto was alive, making Ei her kagemusha (Raiden Shogun’s Character Story 3)

The sword which would later be known as Musou Isshin and the future of Inazuma after the death of Makoto (Raiden Shogun’s Character Story 4)

Seed of Sacred Sakura (Imperatrix Umbrosa Chapter Act II - Transient Dreams: Radiant Sakura; the final part of Raiden Shogun’s story quest)

Sounds very poetic to think that in spite of Makoto being gone, her will and faith in Ei lives on through the lightning that blesses the skies of Inazuma as another form of eternity

Dendro crystalflies

They say that Dendro Crystalflies are the seeds of life. No matter how many times life withers, the earth will give birth to life anew, so long as the seeds do not die.

It mirrors what is discussed between Greater Lord Rukkhadevata and Lesser Lord Kusanali at the end of the Archon Quest Chapter III: Act IV - Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises.

After going through the archon quest, it is revealed that Nahida is essentially Rukkhadevata in a new form. In order to heal the Irminsul, Rukkhadevata erases her existence from it, causing everybody except the Traveler to forget that she ever existed while changing history in Teyvat in the process. There is another instance of this concept of seeds giving birth to life in the Interlude Chapter: Inversion of Genesis.

After Scaramouche learned the truth behind what happened at Tatarasuna, he felt guilt and wanted to make things right by erasing his existence. The Traveler realizes that based on what Rukkhadevata said about erasing yourself from the Irminsul, Scaramouche still had to be present in the world in some form. Scaramouche at this point exists as Wanderer instead. Both Rukkhadevata and Scaramouche show that the reason they could erase themselves from history was because they had some form of reincarnation alive in the present time [Nahida for Rukkhadevata, Wanderer for Scaramouche]. Nahida and Wanderer are both considered to be the seeds from which life is born. They may have suffered in the past [metaphor for life withering], but with their new lives [as seeds], they have a chance to have a new start and happy endings.

Cryo crystalflies

Though it is fragile beyond compare, it still dances amidst the blizzard. It is completely harmless by itself, but it is also a portent of the descent of snow, which silences all life. 

Since the Tsaritsa and Snezhnaya have not been released yet, there is a lot of room for interpretation here. For me, it seems to imply that maybe the Tsaritsa is not as dangerous when she’s by herself. Could this mean that she is actually a figurehead for the real mastermind behind everything going on in Snezhnaya and among the Fatui? I’m not sure that this is the case though. Tartaglia describes her as being too gentle a soul in one of his voiceovers while also being a “true warrior” in his character story about his Delusion. Dainsleif called her “a god with no love left” in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview. What I’m getting is that she actually cares and she feels it is necessary to be cold in order to rebel against the divine. Like the crystalfly enduring the harsh blizzard, perhaps it is describing the Tsaritsa who is enduring something difficult or something that she doesn’t want to do so that her rebellion against the divine will be successful. It reminds me of the description of the Shivada Jade Gemstone where there is an apology for having the reader “shoulder the grievances of the world.” It also describes a desire to burn away the old world which is also referenced in A Winter Night’s Lazzo by Pierro when he promises La Signora/Rosalyne that her final resting place will be “the entirety of the ‘Old World’.” One must wonder what exactly the Tsaritsa’s vision of the “New World” is like and how gathering all the Gnoses will help her attain that. I recall that Nahida had threatened in front of Dottore to call forth the heavenly principles by destroying what was Ei’s Gnosis.

Although Nahida later explained that she was bluffing, it doesn’t seem impossible that destroying a Gnosis would have consequences. Maybe destroying a single Gnosis doesn’t mean much, but what about all 7 of them? If the Tsaritsa’s intention is to wage war against the divine (Celestia), perhaps she plans to gather all the Gnoses and destroy them all together to incite war against Celestia as a way to say that the divine ruling over Teyvat is wrong or should not be allowed. 

Geo crystalflies

In antediluvian ages, even rocks could dream. They say that these crystallized flying butterflies are those very dreams the mountains had. 

This description sounds like the story of Azhdaha. He was originally just a rock that was deep inside of the mountains of Liyue with the ability to speak his emotions and thoughts. 

Azhdaha had never seen the world before and he wished to see it. Morax heard his voice and wish. He then granted the rock a pair of eyes to see the world and the form of a dragon. 

It is so interesting to see the power of wishes and dreams in the world of Teyvat, especially from normally inanimate objects. I know that we resealed him at the end of Historia Antiqua Chapter [Zhongli’s story quest] Act II: No Mere Stone and that Kun Jun, the part of Azhdaha that was not corrupted by erosion, disappeared, but I wonder if his resealed consciousness still dreams in the present time.

Coral butterflies/Sangacorexes

They were once destroyers of the old order, only capable of living while concealed in the Dark Sea. And there they would have stayed, had the serpent god not given them another opportunity. 

These Sangacorexes have a story similar to the Enkanomiyans. The “old order” for the Enkanomiyans could be a reference to the reign of the Sunchildren and corrupt nobles, but the “destroyer” in this case seems more like Orobashi rather than the Enkanomiyans themselves. It is only when Orobashi arrived in Enkanomiya that the people were able to be free from the threat of the Sunchildren and the Bathysmal Vishaps. Soon Orobashi was able to bring the people up to the surface with corals that grew from its back. It might make more sense to take “old order” to refer to the old world that was ruled by the Seven Sovereigns who were defeated by the Primordial One and its Shining Shades, but then the “destroyers” would be the Primordial One and its Shining Shades. Perhaps the description is meant to combine the history of the Primordial One and the Enkanomiyans since they do have a connection to each other.

It seems that Orobashi also may have brought other organisms along with the Enkanomiyans and coral butterflies to the surface. I think it is interesting that the last paragraph in the description of the coral butterflies implies that Orobashi was giving an opportunity to them as if to say that the Enkanomiyans deserved another chance to live on the surface world. Considering that they were initially part of a civilization that lived on the surface world when a war between the Primordial One (with its Shining Shades) and the Second Who Came sent them falling down deep into the ocean, leaving them in what was initially Byakuyakoku & Tokoyokoku (later becoming Enkanomiya), it seemed nice of Orobashi to grant them that chance. It was clearly a god with much love and respect from the Enkanomiyans/people of Watatsumi Island. If there was something that I would have in the game if it could be done differently, I honestly would have loved to see Orobashi in the game and interacted with it as the Traveler since we don’t usually interact with large animal deities in the game.

Initially I hadn’t thought much about the crystalflies’ descriptions, but after reading through them and seeing parallels, I can’t wait to see what they plan for crystalflies of other elements/environmental aspects!

I hope you don't mind me asking but do you imagine god!reader and ei meeting again after she stops isolating herself in euthymia?

I can but I think it would take a while before then. Probably after the second  Imperatrix Umbrosa story quest chapter and likely after the completion of the Sumeru Archon quests!

After the Inazuma Archon quest would be too soon for them. The Vision Hunt Decree might be over but the Sakoku Decree was still in place for a while and God!Reader would be more focused on the state of Sumeru and Nahida to really entertain anything concerning Ei. So once the dust has settledー Ei and the Shogun reconciling and co-existing to rule Inazuma, Sumeru beginning to settle down and work being done to improve things for the desert dwellersー then I think the both of them would be in a much better time of their lives to reunite with one another.

I think that the best time to really get God!Reader’s attention is during the Shroomkin Pokemon event where Miko shows up as an ambassador. She’d probably try and provoke God!Reader into going to pay Ei a visit and God!Reader would consider it. Just to see if Ei has truly changed for the better or not. If Ei is really improving and taking steps to better herself, that’s worth checking in on but they’d probably have to start over again as friends but everyone loves a good exes to friends to lovers pipeline UwU
