Idea: if the Democratic candidate for 2020 is of one or more minority statuses, they should respond to claims that they’re unqualified by pointing to Drumpf and how he lowered the bar so low anyone could cross it; this backs the right into a corner of either admitting the guy they let serve four years (assuming he even gets that far) is unqualified or losing ammo against a left-wing minority candidate due to party loyalty

Friendly reminder about Drumpf, Pence and Ryan et al.

No they are not literally [insert fictional villain here] and a lot of fictional villains aren’t even worthy of being compared to them, and no, coincidental similarities don’t mean we’re literally headed for [insert dystopia here], they’re the relevant bad guys and we need the equivalent of the heroes to save us. And no, they also aren’t the next [insert historical bad guy here, anything from Caesar to Hitler] and no, history isn’t going to directly repeat itself from what they do e.g. even if the worst happens and Drumpf starts a second Holocaust, that doesn’t mean that the only way to take his administration (because he’d commit suicide according to this parallel) down would be WWIII and whichever first world country ends the war by having American scientists help them build some new superweapon will end up repeating our history for the next 70-some-odd years until a demagogue is elected in a disputed election who can only be taken down through WWIV

They are scum and we should take them down, but on their own lack of merits, not to fulfill our self-insert fantasies or to prevent history from exactly repeating itself

The time to start with #ImpeachPence and #ImpeachRyan stuff is now because if we start showing there’s enough hate for them that there’s almost-equal-to-Drumpf pressure to impeach them before they even take office, maybe it will be enough pressure to find a way (that isn’t assassination) to take out either the whole line of succession or him without going through the line of succession

Drumpf is befuddling my brain and not because of anything he said

I don’t want him to, y’know, get Hall Of Presidents animatronics, inclusion in the posters and songs about the presidents used in schools, mention in history textbooks etc., basically any sort of “kid-friendly legacy”.

However, if I try and orchestrate some sort of cover-up to wipe all evidence of his term from history, A. I wouldn’t know how to effectively cover it up and have no one see through it and B. that might do something even worse by having him soil my beloved genre of “fringe history” with his presence (whether it’s physical in a TV show or movie or mentioned in a book) due to people speculating about his “lost years” or who was president during that time

However, I’m even afraid that going back in time to fix the election legitimizes his term by erasing it; by making him comparable (undeservingly, for most of them) to every real or fictional villain who ever has had someone in fiction attempt to use time travel to end their reign of terror before it begins (especially the political ones).

However, I’m afraid that regardless of what I do about him, unless I fix something more systemic about the political system (which doesn’t mean “eat the rich” or “fully automated luxury gay space communism” or any of those political memes I see often on Reddit, even seizing the means of production is kinda a meme there), we’re just going to elect a Democrat more progressive than Obama as backlash and then a Republican more right-leaning than Drumpf as backlash to that and so on and so forth until we reach a point where I start to wonder if that’s why Christians are so in favor of the status quo because we’d basically end up with a President who might as well be the Antichrist followed by one who might as well be the Second Coming if the pendulum keeps swinging further and further

Although I’d much rather have him out of office than become a good person still in office and part of me knows this whole thing with the congressional shooting and the black queer female police officer saving the homophobic congressman probably wasn’t planned that way, part of me still thinks the way to turn this presidency around would be to set up an assassination attempt where the shooter or whatever doesn’t actually insta-kill like one might be tempted to and a poor black queer disabled Muslim woman without health insurance (or someone who’s as many of those minorities as you can find in a person that could still be in a position to help him) could be at the scene to save his life in some fashion (that doesn’t involve taking the bullet for him) and hopefully change his views through that
