The latest project in the ongoing renovation is my back porch. As you can see it was a hot mess when I bought this place, so I cleaned it up as best I could and I've been living with it ever since. Until this weekend that is. As of this weekend the floors have been sanded and the walls and the floors have been painted a clean, btight white. Not because I'm madly in love with white but because that's what I have and I see no reason to go spend money on paint when I have it already. Next the glass will be replaced in the broken windows and insulation will be installed by the outside door. I might (probably will) even get carried away and add mini blinds and curtains. This back porch does a lot for me, it's where I keep all the animal feed for the cats, dog, and chickens. It's also where I keep my dehydrator because I don't like stinking up the house with strongly scented herbs. I'm in and out that back door several times a day so the nicer it looks the better. The paint isn't even dry yet but I'm already so much happier with it. I can't wait to get it back in use, mostly because many of the things that were on the back porch are now hanging out in my kitchen until they can be moved to their rightful places. It's a minor inconvenience and so with it.
