Are we gifting Hriob now? The compass rolls while dragging a guyabano fruit from her chain. She leaves it at Hriob’s desk and just. Sits there. Innocently. Very innocently.

"So... This looks sort of like a durian, but... huh. Interesting texture, not sure if I like the flavor but it is... nice! Thank you!"

He can tell the Compass is still watching, but... maybe its the lack of visible eyes that helps? He can still feel all the other eyes on him as he eats, but while creamy the unusual gift is not quite as messy as the others so far... not that he doesn't still keep up his current eating habits.

Are the different factions embroiled in some sort of central conflict?

Open Inbox Time

There is no ongoing formal war between them, although they (generally) all see each other more as threats than allies. This tension turns into battles on the regular between the six factions, to the point that nearly all possible match ups have been expended at some point in history. They sometimes clash over the use of great and powerful mysterious objects.

They primarily clash over who is to rule Theia and how ultimately her people should live their lives. Some, like the Horde and Emerald, strive for equality and a leaderless society; some believe it should be left well enough alone so long as territories are respected, like Sapphire; some are isolationist and care only for their own problems, like Rosegold; some are mad with their own power and want to rule it all themselves, like Amethyst; and some are… well, capitalists, like Topaz.

The consequences of death are a little less dire in this world; should a monster die on their own territory, they will be reborn within a period of time corresponding to the damage done to their bodies (from days to months), and there are explicit afterlives that reward and punish in (usually) appropriate ways. If a monster dies outside their territory, however, they almost always stay dead– so perma-death definitely is a real consequence during the frequent conflicts.

The following factions would consider themselves enemies:

Sapphire | Topaz

Ore | Rosegold

Amethyst | Everyone Else

Whereas there is only one real formal alliance:

Ore | Emerald

But indeed, it becomes apparent over time that there are bigger things at work and that the monster factions must unite. Due to the egos at play, this proves to be difficult.

Even then he's prone to nightmares so it depends really. I like to think that Hook needs something to HOLD onto whilst he sleeps, be it an extra pillow or object etc, just something to feel safe in.

Its why I think he doesn't sleep in a big grand bed in his cabin, its pretty simple for how extravagant he seems to like it in his quarters. It seems rather cocooned.

I feel like Owl doesn’t drink, so this answer is for Nil.

If only I actually had some fun fantasy crops with which to ferment fantasy alcohol.  And I plan on doing that world building ~sometime~, but characters and story are taking priority.

So bear with me.

I imagine, if you want to consider other factions different countries by virtue of being different floating landmasses in a world full of floating landmasses…. I would say that Emerald Commune has the best booze. Beer specifically.  

There is a brewery location in Emerald, Workhop Brewery.  The owner sells mostly his own brews made on the location, as well as wines from wineries elsewhere in Emerald.

Nil is a wine mom, so she prefers the Emerald Commune wines.  But should she be in the mood for beer, she knows Emerald is the best choice.

(sins of the sea) Christmas boxes are sent to the family's way! Within the packages are boxes filled with dried tropical fruit candies and puka shell bracelets, as well as two bottles of fine baiju. Winter scarves made of fleece is also given out with festive colors. Kyung and Harpreet are especially given matching gloves.

"How lovely! We can hold hands and match! Merry Christmas everyone!" Harpreet says with his giant plate of gingerbread cookies and gulab jamun as his contribution to the season. Just because he's a magic copy of Great Tiger doesn't mean he has to inherit his terrible cooking skills!

"Oh, these are simply wonderful gifts!~ And those sweets smell delicious, darling! They’ll go great with the sugar cookies and Yule log,” Kyung cheered, already beaming at how many sweets were available to snack on.

Naturally, the sugar cookies were decorated to be as macabre as they are festive.  Not even the Yule log is safe due to Kyung having sculpted a large fondant spider onto it.

“And don’t think I forgot about you, Harpreet!  Merry Christmas, my love.~”

(sins of the sea) OTTO CREW GETS A BOMB! .... except once it explodes, it's Christmas festive graffiti. Provided inside the "bomb" are matching golden scarves and boxes full of dried tropical fruit candy such as mangoes, coconuts, and tamarinds.

While everyone gets a "Merry Christmas!" with a little mark on the corner shaped like a galleon, one note is specifically written to Otto: "Thank you for what you've done for the good of others. We truly appreciate it."

To the surprise of no one, A bomb being sent to the firehouse set quite a few members of Otto team off. It wasn't the first time someone gave them a ticking gift and it most certainly won't be the last.

Luckily to make sure that no one dies an explosive. They sent out their bomb squad to deal with it.

...The bomb squad being all the people in their group who can take a point blank explosion head on and survive.

"Hey bro? You're tough enough to survive being hit by a bomb why aren't you in the bomb squad?"

"It'll take forever to get all that shrapnel out of my hair."

"Oh okay."

With fingers crossed and held breath, the bomb goes off to reveal a wonderful bounty of gifts!

*Gasp!* "Mine!" Olive runs up to take some of the dried fruits and candies and runs off.

"Well...Good news is, we're not dead."

"The bomb in actuality was just a gift for all of us. Hmm, it's rather nice."

"Whoever sent it must have a sense of style. I always did look good in gold~"

"Aiya..." Bonnie sighs, "Can't I spend the holidays without the fear of death being a possibility for one year? My heart can't take the excitement."

"Oh come now, Bunny~ It was a wonderful gift. Surely, the bomb was only made in good fun?"

"Damn hooligans must have a odd definition for the word fun."

"Welp! That's the end of that crisis! Time to get sloshed on spiked eggnog!"

As the rest of the group head off to enjoy the festivities, Otto looks down at his letter and the scarf he received. He smiles as he wraps it around his neck.

"You don't gotta thank me. I'm just doing what I can. I just hope whoever sent this is doing their best too. I appreciate the new scarf...but I'm still a little attached to the one Mom gave me. Don't worry I'm still gonna wear it though. Thank you so much!"

Beyond her being a wild historical character who actually pays attention to history? She's a sweetie and a goblin, and yet the times where she puts her foot down doesn't betray that sweetness at all. She is genuinely beautiful in heart and in appearance, something I feel is hard to depict in female OCs when most writers are struggling to get the intended reactions. Also, smol, cute, want to protecc, but also don't want to get fried by, lmao. She's just a good combination of things I like in OCs in general.

I remember in the past I had someone on anon criticize Annalise for being too nice. And now I'm like, is that such a bad thing, for a character to go through hell and still remain kind to nearly everyone she meets despite the circumstances?

She's a sweetie pie. A creature. My good time girl. My sweet cheese. My feral goblin of a woman. And I'm glad you enjoy her so much!

Holy shit, I just GOTTA know them all! The settings, the characters, the dynamics, and especially the leaders in power. I am really drawn to the personal stories and the conflicts I've seen so far. Even if I'm not interacting, I'm hyped to see posts from them that build their world more and more. Not to mention I just absolutely adore their designs and colors. I look forward to the day you release some kind of story outline or summary, canon or RP, as I can't get over how drawn I am to this world.

What drew you to my OC?

I’ll take that as a hell of a compliment considering Monster Drama is a shambling Frankenstein’s monster of a couple dozen dead previous projects stitched together. It’s basically just me going, “the kids that had sprawling edgy melodramatic rps with their half-demon, half-angel, half-vampire ocs need something with a similar vibe but all grown up”. The audience is niche but I figured it had to be out there.

"I do tend to embarrass myself quiet a bit. The most recent one is actually something that's ongoing."

She forces a smile.

"I met a new friend, a big, burly woman, who loves to fight. Sparring is a sort of cultural thing for her, and, after talking to her for a little bit, I offered to spar. I don't know what got into my head, but I can't fight her! She's ten feet tall. Look at me. I need to figure out a way to get out of this."

1. I'm trying to make this blog somewhat esoteric and minimalist, but i would like to think that, interpersonally, i dont take myself seriously at all. im very open to communication, as i know i kid around a lot, and that often comes at a risk of miscommunication. this is all a way of saying i dont get super angry

2. i get a little annoyed when i encounter untagged, open NSFW stuff on my dash. i lurk a LOT on mobile, and often I'll be in public. it's not exactly an "rp" pet peeve, but its definitely gotten me weird looks.
