06| The Tribrid
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x daughter!reader Summary: While you busy yourself with making sure the deal with the witches runs smoothly, Klaus occupies himself by trying to figure you out. Warnings: none Words: 4.4K
Masterlist | Part 7
I walked into my house, throwing my keys on the side-table next to the door and shrugging off my jacket. I checked my watch: 2:01 PM, so Davina was still at school and wouldn't be back 'til she was done practicing with the witches.
I just got back from lunch with Elijah where we went over the Mikaelson's terms in more detail. Genevieve had sent a witch to the Abattoir earlier like a carrier pigeon with an outline of their requests.
Pretty dramatic, if you ask me, but she was like just resurrected. She probably doesn't know how to text yet, so whatever.
After Elijah and I talked over everything, I left, telling him I'd type up the contract myself. As an immortal with plenty of time on my hands, I've gone to law school and pursued numerous careers, as I'm sure Elijah probably had, too, so there was no need to hire (compel) someone else to write this contract for us.
I made my way to my room, passing Davina's on the way which was filled with boxes and a few things placed haphazardly on the ground. My room looked a little different: pretty plain, bed parallel to the door. Normal, basically.
I walked into my adjoining walk-in closet which was probably the most interesting thing about this room. At first glance, it looked mundane; there were some eye-catching statement pieces, but this closet otherwise just looked like a closet.
Unless you knew what to look for.
I closed the closet door for good measure and turned to the back wall, waving my hand and muttering, "Invisique saeclum." Instantly, the illusion of the wall disappear and another, smaller, more compact room was revealed.
It was lined with shelves, books stacked on top of each them. I walked closer, going to pick up the book closest to me. My grimoire. Like the rest of the books in this closet, it was dusty. I haven't needed to look for a spell in a long while.
I placed it down on the island in the middle of the room before turning to find the other book I needed. Under a few other books, I found what I was looking for: Amelia's grimoire.
I put it down next to mine, staring at both of them. Strong nostalgia came over me. I hadn't looked at her grimoire in long time, or even my own, for that matter. Both of them should have been worn down now after all these years, but a simple preservation spell kept them in pristine condition, looking just as they had when I was younger.
My lips quirked up as I ran my hand along their covers, memories flashing before my eyes of my childhood. But as quick as the happiness came, it disappeared with the thought of how that very childhood was stolen from me.
Enough with memory lane.
I switched my focus onto the purpose of even grabbing these books, opening my grimoire and flipping through it until I found the page I was looking for.
Illusion spells.
While I was very familiar with this type of spell, the one I wanted to perform was a little different. It was similar to the average cloaking spell, but I wanted a physical manifestation of an object: a decoy.
I wasn't stupid. I was never going to give Genevieve my aunt's grimoire. The only reason the witches wanted something so powerful was for leverage, and they weren't gonna get it. I knew all this last night, so instead of actually giving them Amelia's grimoire, I'd give them a copy.
But this copy had to feel real, tangible. Its energy needed to be able to be sensed in the same way it was with the real thing. They needed to feel like they could trust us, even if the Mikaelsons—or myself, for that matter—didn't trust them.
The thing with magic was that it worked through energy. Witches have their own special type of energy that enables them to perform spells. That's why you could practice magic without incantations; so long as the intent was there and it was strong enough, then your spell would work.
The reason why we often do use incantations is because words hold power. The history behind them holds enough energy to basically back the spell up. So, if you were using spells that weren't your own, then you would also want to use the chant because, without one, your own intent wouldn't be strong enough for the magic to pull through.
That's why I was going to change the incantations written down altogether.
At first, I was gonna exclude certain pages from Genevieve's copy completely, but then I realized that, without the powerful spells, she'd be less likely to trust us. So then I just change them so that they still made sense, but wouldn't work.
Without the written incantations that Bennetts had chanted in the past, these spells would be useless. If the words didn't hold any significance, then they were pointless.
Which was exactly my goal.
I hovered my left hand over Amelia's grimoire, hovering the other over blank space on the island. I closed my eyes and began, "Phantamogriphia decorum, appearatas veridical. Phantamogriphia decorum, appearatas veridical." After repeating this a few times, I felt the emergence of energy into the room and opened my eyes to see a book identical to Amelia's under my right hand.
I picked it up, flipping through it and stopping every once in a while to alter a spell, muttering incantations under my breath so the words on the page would appear as if they were Amelia's handwriting.
When I was done, I set it down on the island to compare it to Amelia's real grimoire. It was almost impossible to tell the difference unless you actually knew her. There was only a slight difference in the energy emitting from each book, but I knew this was fool-proof.
With a grin, I returned mine and Amelia's grimoires to their spots, bringing the cloak of the wall back. I grabbed the fake and stuffed it into my bag, tossing it onto a chair in my room. For now, I'd go type up the contract, then I'd walk over to the compound to give it to Elijah.
With that, I walked over to my office.
THIRD PERSON, THE NIGHT BEFORE
Klaus stood off to the side while his brother and his latest fixation spoke to the witches. He was silent; Elijah already warned him earlier not to cause a fuss, and the last thing he wanted was a fight with a Elijah. He had enough to deal with, this agreement included.
This evening, however, was not something he wanted.
Klaus couldn't care less if the factions tore each other apart in the streets. All of this was Elijah's doing, and so Klaus was only there to oversee it. Truth be told, he wasn't even going to show until Elijah told him Y/N was going to be there.
That caught his interest.
He couldn't figure it out, but there was something about this girl that pulled him to her. She looked familiar; he just couldn't pinpoint where he knew her from.
It seemed that others found her just as fascinating. For some reason, she had the trust of the Quarter's residents, but she wasn't going to get Klaus' trust so easily.
There was something off about her, something far greater than familiarity. And he was going to figure it out.
No matter what.
His attention was drawn away from Y/N when Genevieve cut her off. The words that came out of her mouth had stunned him.
"Esther Mikaelson's grimoire. We want Esther Mikaelson's grimoire."
Elijah's request for peace this evening suddenly went over his head. He scowled, "Are you out of your mind?"
"Niklaus-"
"I am not giving you my mother's grimoire. After what you tried to do to my family, you expect me to hand over-"
"Niklaus." Klaus stopped, turning to look at Elijah. His jaw clenched when he saw the look on his brother's face. He calmed down slightly, glancing at Y/N, wondering how she was going to talk her way out of this one.
Even as he glowered at Genevieve, he couldn't help but feel smug. There was no way out of this, and the oh so special Y/N would fail.
Or so he thought.
Y/N declined her request, as he predicted. Genevieve went to pull out of the deal, as he predicted. What he didn't predict was what Y/N said next.
"I currently have a Bennett grimoire in my possession." His head snapped in her direction. His eyes met Elijah's who looked just as surprised as him. He glanced over at the witches who luckily didn't notice their reactions, too engulfed in shock of their own. "It's yours, so long as you accept."
The rest of the conversation became muffled to Klaus, as if he were underwater. He could tell she wasn't bluffing—that, or she was a really good liar. He suspected that both were true. So many thoughts ran through his head at once.
While he thought she must have won Elijah over with that save, this only deepened his own distrust in her. A Bennett's grimoire was extremely hard to come by. They were guarded as if they were the holy grail. If he, the Original Hybrid, wasn't able to get his hands on one, then how did a mere vampire acquire one?
And why was she giving it up like it was pocket change?
He tuned back into the conversation when all parties stood up, Y/N and Genevieve shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries that he didn't care for. As Elijah walked the witches out, Klaus didn't glance at Genevieve once, even though he felt like glaring at her whenever he saw her. Instead, his glare was directed to Y/N.
Their eyes locked, and Y/N only continued to surprise him by staring right back. She was confident, and assertive, and unfazed with every comment he threw her way. He kept trying to shake her, but she appeared to be rooted to her spot every time. This only annoyed him.
He was so focused that he didn't even notice when his brother walked back into the room. Elijah thanked her, making Y/N look away to respond. Klaus had an inkling that Elijah wouldn't bring up what just happened, so he had no choice but to be the one to do it.
"How do you have a Bennett grimoire in your possession?" He interrogated, suspicion audible in his voice. Elijah gave him a look that was ignored.
He watched Y/N's body language as she responded, looking for any signs of a lie. "I met one a few hundred years ago. She died after she was in the wrong place, wrong time, but she left that book to me."
She must take me for a fool, he thought. The nerve of her to think he'd believe that. "A Bennett witch left her grimoire with you, a vampire? Not with her family?" He enunciated each word slowly as if to emphasize his point.
A Bennett witch leaving something as valuable as her grimoire to a member of the species they hated was unheard of.
Y/N gave an excuse, saying the witch wasn't close with her family at the time, as if that made it any more believable. "And I was human at the time so, yes, she left it to me because she knew it could come of use one day."
She showed no indication that she was lying, and if her story was real, then her excuses were reasonable. Perhaps if the story were coming from someone else, he would've rolled over and believed it. But this was coming from Marcel's supposed 'best friend,' the woman who so happened to be there the night Hayley was almost attacked, who had his brother so interested in her that he forced him to allow Marcel back into the Quarter all for the sake of a deal. This was coming from the woman who reminded him so much of a ghost from his past.
So, no, Klaus did not believe her.
Elijah, on the other hand, didn't look as vexed. He cleared his throat and changed the subject, thanking her again. Y/N turned around, making plans for another meeting. She didn't look back at Klaus once, but he was staring at her until even after she walked out the gate.
Elijah sighing broke him out of his trance. "Must you be so difficult, Niklaus?"
Klaus rolled his eyes. "If you want to turn a blind eye to all of this, then by all means. But this woman is so obviously hiding something." He reached for his scotch, downing the rest of it in one go.
"Niklaus, please-"
He cut him off, "No, Elijah—you can't honestly be telling me that you don't see what I'm seeing. She acts as if she's guilty of something-"
"Innocent until proven guilty."
Klaus scoffed. Elijah's immediate impulse to see the best in everyone could very well one day be his downfall. For some reason, he was defending Y/N, even though they both knew the only reason they really brought her in was because he saw the same things Klaus did.
Klaus shook his head. "She's not who she says she is." This time, Elijah's response didn't come as quick. He only silently maintained his stare. Little did Klaus know, his brother had doubts of his own.
Elijah's response never came. He closed the book on the conversation completely. "Good night, Niklaus." Elijah walked way, patting Klaus' shoulder as he passed him before going up the stairs. The hybrid cursed him in his head. How could he be so stupid, he thought.
He knew you were hiding something.
And he would make it his personal job to figure out what it was.
FIRST PERSON, PRESENT
I closed my laptop, having just printed out the contract. With Marcel, contracts were never necessary; you would just trust the other person's word. But, in this new society, trust could not be guaranteed.
I sighed, checking the time. Davina should be home any minute now.
Right on cue, I heard a knock at the door. I furrowed my brows. Didn't I give her a key?
She must have left it her by accident. Not thinking anything of it, I got up, walking to the door absentmindedly. "Hey, Dav-" my words died down in my throat once I opened the door. Standing in front of me wasn't Davina.
It was Klaus.
He coyly smiled. "Hello, Y/N. May I come in?" For a quick second, I was stunned. I wasn't expecting this at all. How did he even know I lived here? I wondered before dismissing the thought. He's Klaus Mikaelson; of course, he knows where I live.
I quickly composed myself, reciprocating his smile, only hoping that mine didn't look as fake as his. I held the door open wider. "Of course." The act of Klaus stepping over the threshold into my home almost made me sick, but I didn't dare show it on my face.
"Lovely home you have here," he said, looking around, but I doubted he was just looking out curiosity, and that compliment felt nothing like a compliment to me. What the fuck is he doing here?
I thanked him, resisting the urge to cross my arms. I learned in the few psych classes I attended that it was a sign of discomfort. I instead tried to make myself less stiff, asking myself how a normal person would act in this situation and then trying to behave that way.
"Would you like something to drink? Water, tea, Brandy....?"
Klaus shook his head, declining. He still wasn't looking at me, continuing to stare at my house. He seemed to be searching for something, and I had an idea what it was.
Well, he wouldn't find it.
I skipped over the like five other questions I had, asking, "What brings you here?" I kept my voice light, even though he probably knew that I knew what he was doing. I was already gonna be heading over to the compound later where he would've seen me. He had no reason to be here other than to look for some sort of flaw.
Finally, Klaus looked over at me. "Elijah's currently preoccupied, so I told him I'd just come here and get what you were supposed to give to him." Bullshit. But I'd play this game. I've won far harder ones.
I reminded myself of the pact I made to myself when I left the compound yesterday, of everything I've endured over the course of my life. If I went through what I went through, then I could go through speaking to my father.
I faked nonchalance. "Right, the contract. I'll go get that right now." I went to my room, grabbing the stapled pages and Amelia's grimoire out of my bag, ignoring the fact that the hybrid could've done anything in the less than thirty seconds I left him alone. However, when I got back, he seemed to be in exact same spot, waiting patiently for my return.
"Here," I said, handing them to both to him. He hummed, flipping through the pages—though, I doubt he was reading anything, even though the contents of the folder I just gave him were only drafted in attempts to save his city.
But I didn't have to have known Klaus long to know that this wasn't about saving anything for him. Men like him didn't save; they destroyed, and my mother raised me well enough to make sure I never forgot that.
When he closed the folder, he looked at the grimoire with a serious stare. I would've been worried that he was trying to see past my glamour had I not been as strong as I was. Nobody could see past my illusions other than myself; it's always been that way, and it'll always be that way.
Instead, I could bet he was questioning its authenticity or even my authenticity. The white lie I gave the other night was convincing enough to get me out of the compound, but since Klaus was looking for any reason to support his distrust in me, he obviously still had reservations.
Before I could continue with my train of thought, Klaus looked up at me and abruptly questioned, "Where are you from?" My brows went up. Out of all the things he could've said, that was on my list of least expected.
But I wasn't expecting any of the other things that'd happened in my life since I returned to New Orleans, either.
My first instinct was to respond, why do you ask? but that felt defensive and that was the last thing I wanted to come off as to my father. I told him what I told most people who asked. "A little bit of everywhere, I suppose." I shrugged for effect. "I was travelling at a young age due to conflicts around my family, so I was all over Europe as a child."
The suspicion Klaus so eagerly showed me the other night was tucked away. Instead, he only hummed again, but clearly he didn't believe me; otherwise, he would've left it alone, but I could never be so lucky.
"And how old are you? If you don't mind my asking," he added, as if he cared about whether not I minded.
I didn't hesitate. "About five hundred years old, give or take."
He hummed in response, adding to my irritation, but I was much better at hiding what I was thinking than he was. Not that he was trying. "Well, I suppose I should've assumed so since the Bennett witches had fled to America around that time period." He stared me dead in the eye, a smug smile on his face but a much more serious look in his eyes.
He was pretty close to me, close enough that I could see his eyes—and I mean really see them. They were blue with twinges of green and brown that I hadn't seen from far away before. And even though almost nothing scared the crap out of me more than the fact that his eyes looked like mine, I stared right back like I had no fears at all.
"Yeah, that's true," I agreed, but I didn't offer anything further. The only other things I could've added to this conversation to convince him I wasn't lying were facts from my personal life and that was information I wouldn't soon give up.
I didn't know how well Klaus knew my mother before they conceived me, if he knew her best friend's name or even her own, for that matter. So there were some details I just had to keep to myself; revealing certain things may have had the ability to help me, but they could also hurt me just as easily.
That was a risk I wasn't going to take.
Klaus just kept staring at me, and I almost thought he'd never look away until the door opened. We both turned to see Davina in the doorway, keys in her hand.
Her mouth fell open slightly, eyes darting between me and the Original in our living room. Said Original broke the silence. "Ah, if it isn't the little witch."
I watched Davina swallow but still manage to glare at him. "Klaus."
Klaus held his hands up in surrender, that same "friendly" smile on his face that was anything but. "Relax, love. I come in peace." He then looked back over at me. "I was just leaving." With that, he walked toward the door. Back still turned to me, he uttered a thank you for what I gave him and wished us a wonderful night, patting Davina on the shoulder on his way out.
The teenager barely waited until Klaus was out the door to close it, looking over at me with incredulous eyes. Just as her mouth was about to open, I brought my finger to my lips, silently shushing her and pointing to my ear.
She got the message, exasperatedly sighing and running a hand through her hair while I used my hearing to listen to Klaus walk away. Once I could no longer hear his footsteps, I let my finger fall. Davina instantly let her questions loose.
"What the hell was he doing here? Why'd you let him in- no, how did he get in? What was that stuff he walked out with and why did that book look like a grimoire? Oh my God, does he know that you're a-"
I cut her off, "Davina. Slow down and I'll explain." At my interruption she paused, taking a breath. I couldn't help but be amused at her worry, even though the Devil himself had just been standing in my living room.
Once she was calm, I elaborated, summarizing the deal I'd made with Elijah and then the deal we'd just made with the witches. Although I trusted Davina, I gave her the same story I gave Klaus when it came to the grimoire. There were some things just better kept secret and, for now, Amelia Bennett and my family fell under that category.
After I'd explained everything, Davina nodded to herself, soaking it all in, muttering under her breath, "That must've been what everyone was talking about today, a deal with the Mikaelsons." She pursed her lips. "Yeah, I heard Genevieve and some others whispering something about a Bennett witch, so it must've been that."
I nodded. "Yeah, and as for Klaus being here, I let him in myself. Don't worry; the protections are fine." She finally seemed to calm down after that.
"Okay, I guess I'll just go do my homework now or something. See you, Y/N/N." I ruffled her hair as she walked past me, getting a faux angry pout that didn't last long before a smile started to form on her lips. Like her happiness was contagious, the corners of my lips upturned, too.
It was good to see her happy, busying herself with things like homework. That's what teens should be doing, not hiding away in attics, isolated from humanity. Death shouldn't have even crossed her mind but I knew that, living in the world we lived in, that wasn't an option.
In spite of that, I would do my best to preserve her childhood for as long as I could. There was no one there to do that for me, and I'd be damned if I would just stand by and watch as hers was stolen from her.
Davina meant too much to me to allow that to happen, but even so, there were still things about me that she didn't know. There were things about me that no one knew, no matter how close to me they'd gotten.
No one knew I was Klaus' daughter, no one but Amelia, my mother, and the person who killed her.
At that thought, my mood became sour, but instead of drowning in my own self-pity, I blocked the thoughts completely. I couldn't afford to be in New Orleans with Klaus Mikaelson watching my every move and to also think about that part of my past.
So I pulled out my phone and dialled until Cellie's voice filled my ear, "Hey, what's up?"
"Hey, let's go out. We can hit up that new club downtown. And call Cami up, too; we can all go and just have fun."
"Not that I oppose this in anyway, but what brought up this spontaneousness?"
"Nothing," I lied. "I just want to have a night-out on the town. C'mon, Marcel; don't be boring."
He gave in, "Alright, alright, fine. I'll call Cami."
I grinned. "Great; meet at my place." Before he could say anything else, I hung up on him. This was just the sort of thing I needed, to go out like everything was normal.
I rushed to go get ready, pushing all thoughts of Klaus and my past to the back of my mind. For one night, just one, I wanted to feel like myself again.
Ever since I got back to New Orleans, I've felt like this shell of myself. Around the Originals, I felt like little-kid-me. All of these memories and thoughts that I've worked to repress have just been resurfacing, and so, for one night, I just want to feel like myself again. That'll help me get it all together.
I was gonna go out tonight, not as a Mikaelson, but as a Y/L/N.
And after that, I was gonna bury Y/N Mikaelson for good.

Some people have this weird fixation about making Klaus choose Caroline over Hope, especially in fanfics. I’ve seen fics where Klaus abandons Hope, or kills Hayley for disrespecting Caroline, or just ignores Hope in favor of Caroline. Like some people forget Hope’s his daughter - of course, he’s going to choose her over everyone. I think any decent parent would choose their child over a potential girlfriend/boyfriend. And Hayley is Hope’s mom, a very important person in her life. I don’t think Klaus would kill Hayley unless she posed a threat to Hope or if she tried to take Hope away from him. Honestly, I don’t think he would even tolerate people openly disrespecting Hayley in front of Hope, regardless of who it was.
Another thing that I’ve noticed is how people are so determined to make Klaus a father figure to the twins, particularly Lizzie. I’ve read a fic in which Klaus clearly and openly favored Lizzie over his own daughter - which would never happen. I think that if Klaus and Caroline actually did end up together, he still wouldn’t be that present in the twins lives. Since he is overprotective to the extreme, I think that he would hold some resentment over how the twins treated Hope in their younger years. He’s petty enough to hold a grudge against a kid. And anyway, I don’t ever see Alaric allowing Lizzie or Josie to get close to Klaus, no matter what Caroline says.
I don’t know… it’s just weird that people keep diminishing Hope’s relationship with her own father to benefit their ship. Sorry for the rambling.
People fail to remember that Klaus is his own person and not an extension of the ships they like, and that ship half of the time is klaroline because they are obssesed with making him her personal puppy, as if that ever happened in canon.
Granted, Klaus said a few nice things to her and did like two good things to make Caroline not feel so guilty about wanting to fuck him, but other than that there's no way he would ever seriously chose her over his family, especially his own daughter. He chose to save her over Rebekah back in Mystic Falls because his sister is immortal, Caroline isn't.
I've never actually read long klaroline/klamille/klayley fanfiction. Sure, I use to read some oneshots from time to time because they have really good writing, but this fanfics I'll talk about best used to show up while I was in the klaus or mikaelson tag and I used to take a look because I was curious. It has some wild elements, that's for sure.
I've seen a lot of fanfics where they make Caroline some weird ass hybrid/tribrid that manages to be a werewolf, witch and vampire all in one and it's like wtf. They complain constantly about Hope's existence because she breaks canon and yet they make this baby vampire the biggest Mary Sue ever. Yes, the producers created Hope because they wanted to create their own magical baby like Renaissance from Twilight, but they make a fool of themselves by making Caroline be anything but a vampire. Caroline was incredibly mean and a complete hypocrite as a human and don't bring me the "she was insecure and always in Elena's shadow" because I'm insecure too and that doesn't make me be a bitch to the people who love me. Klaus was always threatening her whenever she spoke in a way he didn't like, and that was when she was already the "sunshine vampire" people claim to love so badly, so people who think he would even let her live if he met her as a human are laughable.
Klaroline shippers are so pressed about Hayley being Hope's mother, I can't even tell you how many posts, videos and weird fanfics I've seen of Caroline being her mother and being the "Mikaelson's light". I've said it a lot of times, but the Mikaelson wouldn't like Caroline at all: Rebekah and Hayley were constantly slutshamed by her, Elijah hates people who insult/hurt his family, Kol was literally killed by one of her best friends and he would not be okay with that, Finn couldn't care less and Freya probably just heard bad things from her, if she even knew about her existence. And in top of that, Caroline literally threw a party when she thought Klaus died.
When they have any Mikaelson or Klaus, especially Klaus, kill Hayley, I just lose it. Why the hell would Klaus ever do that? He literally lost his mind when she died, he was a mess and they don't even want to admit he loved Hayley: new flash, he did. She was his family, the mother of his daughter, probably his best and only friend and he loved her. Not in a romantic way, but they still get pressed because how dare Klaus have feelings for anyone other than their queen Caroline.
Also, their obsession with making Caroline be called queen? It's creepy and weird, it must be really annoying for them that Klaus only called Cami and Hayley a queen. Those two girls were a thousand times closer to be considered family by him than Caroline ever could, and his siblings did care for those women too.
This reminds me of a really good point in klaroline fics: if Caroline is the one pregnant with Hope, Klaus will react a lot better. I just can't see this, Klaus’s daddy issues are literally the main point of his character. He hated Mikael as much as he desired his love, he always yearned for one of his parents to care and no one did: Mikael, because he was a piece of shit, Esther, because she was terrified of her husband and there's literally no other reason in canon that explains why she allowed Mikael's abuse and Ansel, because he was forced to stay away and was killed twice. That isn't gonna change just because he got Caroline, sorry to tell you.
I can see him reacting less murderer and less threatening. Alkaline covers this so well and it's one of my favorite Klaus fanfics, if he has a romantic relationship with the woman he got pregnant he wouldn't tell the witches to kill her and their baby, but I do think he would still think at first she cheated, not only because of his paranoia but also because he is supposedly incapable of having kids.
The whole Lizzie and Josie thing is really a good point! I agree, Klaus would never favor the twins over Hope or even Marcel. Those are his kids, he raised them and he never met Josie and Lizzie until they were like what, twelve? Thirteen? He even said people needed to ask him permission to even talk to Hope, he would 100% hold a grudge against the Saltzman twins for being mean to his daughter. I also think that the whole "Klaus would like Lizzie more than Josie" is because physically and in terms of personality, Lizzie is the one that resembles Caroline the most. So when writers have him openly prefer Lizzie isn't only weird, it has some uncomfortable pedophilic vibes.
I've only seen klaroline and some klayley shippers say that about klope, how he would love x girl more than Hope and etc. I hardly doubt they even remember canon Klaus, just their fanfic version because if Klaus ever had to chose he would always chose his daughter. I've also seen, in a lot of fanfics, not only klaroline ones, how Klaus would love more or completely ignore his oc kid (they also have Hope he a complete bitch from the start, even if it's her seven years old version) and it's just strange. There are a lot of reasons why Klaus and Marcel didn't have a stable relationship, mainly all the bad blood between them and the fact that Marcel was already grown up by the time they met, but he never hesitated to put himself in danger for him. Klaus even refused to kill him, knowing he was endangering Hope. I just can't see him ignoring his kid, especially if he got to actually see him/her grow up.
This is not bashing to the writers btw! Sorry if it came out like that.

Just a little bit more.
As Hope had valiantly displayed a true testament to her power as a fully-activated tribrid and defended the compound from the sudden assault; Klaus had taken it upon himself to hit the streets outside and tear apart any accompanying forces or reinforcements that would stand to interfere.
I am immortal. I cannot die. I will not die.
Stumbling among the bodies he left strewn across the area, Klaus looked around almost as if in a daze as the exhaustion of the fighting tried to seep into every ounce of his being. He couldn't hear Hope's heartbeat inside - it was faint. Something was very wrong and that only served to further thicken the sort of cloud in his mind.
He needed to know if they were okay. Hope. Seanna. Ares. Camille. Hayley. He needed to know if his siblings were okay. He needed to know if his nieces and nephews were okay. He needed...
"I want both of these cities to burn. Nothing but ashes left..." He rambled absent-mindedly in his bloodlusted daze.

Do you envision eve ever becoming the full tribid when she got older? like when she’s an adult do you ever think in your story she would have transitioned fully?
Just generally curious on how you envision her life in the future! Like does she stay a human all her life, does she have children? Understand if you’ve never really thought that far ahead tho!
So, I like to think she wouldn't. I know it's unrealistic to think this child will go through her entire life never killing anyone considering that's basically the family business, so even though Caroline will hate that for her just because of what it takes, I think she will trigger her werewolf gene at some point. But a full tribrid transition is a whole other beast, and it would kill Caroline if she ever did it (though there will also be a very sad component to watching her daughter eventually getting older than her). Klaus would not be as opposed to the idea of her becoming a vampire, for obvious reasons. lol In my heart (and Caroline's as well), Eve will never die, will never become a vampire, she will live her life as a witch/werewolf hybrid, have children and keep the Forbes-Mikaelson family going. She will die of very old age, in a very comfortable bed, surrounded by her kids and grandkids and greatgrandkids, with her immortal parents by her side. That's my wish for Eve.

The first born witch thing was created to strictly make hope exist there's literally nothing there for them to make claims that makes them Superior over the Bennetts If there was Esther wouldn't have had to Harness magic from the Bennetts to even make her kids originals she would have done it with her family line if they was soo power which they ain't we seen in canon they haven't done anything to top what the Bennetts have accomplished bonnie herself could kill a original without the white Oak stake and make her own Dimensions how can they claim hope could top that when there's nothing she could do at this point that could
The writers tried so hard to discredit the Bennetts and their involvement in creating quite literally every major supernatural phenomenon. They had Hope sit there and claim Esther was the creator of dark magic when the spell she used to create Vamperism was a rip off of Qetsiyah’s immortality spell.
They wanted Hope to be this feared all powerful being born from equally powerful bloodlines, so their scapegoat was claiming that being born first from a witch bloodline is meaningful in some way. Even though Esther’s bloodline is shown to be significantly weaker in both shows and her only achievement is leeching off the Bennetts.
All this about Hope being the almighty tribrid who was a danger to the entire supernatural world, created nonsensical lore to hype up this idea, only for them to severely drop the ball and have Legacies be a complete and utter joke is what’s most funny to me. Out of all four seasons, not one moment made me think all that setup TO was worth it. Hope fans constantly compare her to Bonnie, yet when you ask them to list feats that are on par with Bonnie stopping hellfire, creating a dimension from a single scream, being able to control a seemingly uncontrollable power such as expression, almost killed an original, all they can do is shout how Hope is a tribrid and that automatically means she’s stronger.
#not an anti Hope post whatsoever i love her sm thats my baby#but certain hope/mikaelson fans will try to hate on Bonnie and the Bennets unprovoked#in fact Hope being a Bennett witch would have been a great explanation as to why she was born part witch#instead of lazy plot devices that makes zero sense

who: emery, piper, heath & ingrid ( @hellonexrth ) ! where: park in new orleans !
emery wasn't necessarily cool with ingrid mikaelson, but it was rather obvious that she was going to be in heath's life for a long time ( probably longer than he would given their immortality ), so he'd figure it out. he also had every intention to keep piper in his life, now that they'd reconnected. that is why he'd asked piper if she'd like to meeting a couple of his friends. once she agreed he'd texted heath and planned something. it was important for him to, essentially, merge his two lives. the nomadic emery he'd left behind and the new semi-settled city boy.
" they're cool, i promise. " he gives piper an assuring smile while he kept an eye out for a glimpse of heath. the psychic had half a mind to shoot the vampire a text and ask very nicely for him to be on his best behavior. then he realized that might have the opposite effect, heath might take that as an invitation to tease him all night. which wasn't exactly a bad thing, but he was already a little hyper aware of his actions around piper, especially after starting to realize his feelings might be deeper than he even knew. the pair walked along the path as he spotted that familiar tall figure and then the spot of red hair. " hey, " he calls out with a grin in attempts to get attention as he and piper neared.
this all felt oddly normal. going to hangout with her boyfriend's friends, or friend and friend's friend. maybe that's why she had been up for doing it in the first place. it wasn't that she really wanted to be around people, or emery in particular, but she craved something simple. the past year had been nothing of the sort. so there she found herself, in the park with heath, ready to make the most of this interaction. plus, she and emery could use a positive interaction. ultimately he hadn't done anything unforgivable and she had been just as guilty. frankly they'd all need allies at the rate the collective was working. here's to bonding, she thought.
the sound of emery's voice pulled ingrid's attention from heath to the approaching party. the second that ingrid's eyes landed on the woman's face she felt her heart stop beating. it was one she'd seen in the few times ingrid actually managed to dream ( or have nightmares ). this could not be happening. words escaped her as fear wrapped around her brain and took control. quickly and without thought, ingrid shuffles behind him. shielding herself with his body from the others as one hand reaches out to find heath's. she connected their fingers, needing some kind of contact. none of her movements were graceful and anyone with sight could tell something was wrong. while her brain begged her to take off running, the tribrid felt paralyzed. " she's, " but that singular word was all that left her before she pressed her forehead against heath's back trying to regain any sort of composure.

thoughts on heretic!bonnie?
I would only be interested in Bonnie being a vampire if it was something that she wanted or can be happy with. And I would prefer it to happen after motherhood. It could even be a similar set of circumstances to Haley becoming a hybrid. All Bonnie wants is a family and motherhood is part of that. Plus, I'd love to see the Bennett line continue and a Klonnie!tribrid baby would be incredible. Technically, Bonnie isn't a siphon so she wouldn't become a heretic upon being turned. However, I think all those rules don't matter when it comes to Bonnie's psychic powers. Other witches have magic. Bonnie is magic. Expression is the literal manifestation of her will and isn't even connected to nature. It would be fascinating if Expression was the only magic Bonnie could access as a vampire. I think it makes sense for Expression to best suit a master that's immortal. Klaus would be so fascinated by a new type of hybrid. A Bennett vampire WITH magic would drive him insane but he'd love it. It's a bit of a shame the heretics storyline was anticlimactic.

Leaves a “ the supreme Mikaelson” pin for hope
"guess it's official then — i've graduated a step up from 'magical miracle baby.'" the tribrid chuckles softly, shaking her head at the absurdity seemingly always tied to this family. "kind of feels like a setup. i mean, is this supposed to come with extra responsibilities? more family drama? or just an immortal life of therapy?"
a simple shrug of the shoulder. its movement disregarding her search for answer in favor of pinning it to her jacket. "alright, fine. i'll wear it. but only because it'll drive my uncles nuts."

Legacies 1x05 Rewatch:
The Dryad, I've missed her
I actually love how they show the evolution of the school with stuff like adapting to monsters and giving the students a voice
No because who takes over Raf's spot on the Honor Council when he dies
"YoU'rE nOt GoNnA lOsE tHe ElEcTiOn OvEr An OuTfIt." Why is it so hard for Josie to just support her sister for once.
"Lizzie Saltzman only cares about Lizzie Saltzman." You mean the Lizzie Saltzman, who does everything for her sister and sacrifices her life over and over again for every other student in that school?
"You still like it when I went low." "Oh, honey, you crush on me." Posie needed more than one season.
"We're not negotiating. Right, Ric?" "Uh ..." Dorian as headmaster would have been a great storyline.
Watching Rafael and Jed spar makes me realize that Finch never got to meet Rafael. What a wasted opportunity.
" You're mocking me." "Yeah but just a little bit." When I say Dorian and Alaric had more chemistry with the Dryad than they did with Emma or Mac ...
" Sometimes in the human world telling the truth can do more harm than good." OH THIS IS ABOUT THE MERGE. MM HMM.
"I see it in their smiles, in their laughter. I still see her sometimes." Going to cry thinking about that last scene in TVD
"You straight up refuse to swim across the lake." "Excuse the foster kid for never having swim lessons." And now he literally lives, immortal, ferrying across a lake.
Testing his ability to get away from you as fast as possible, Hope? Little Miss Hold on Tight?
So if Malivore's DNA showed up as literally everything, why did Landon's DNA show no supernatural history? Why didn't it raise any red flags?
"It's so nice to know you all love me as much as I thought you did." She's a comedian because I know she knows those kids hate her ass. They attended a book club reading of her diary. They laughed at her funeral. They did NOT love her and she knew it.
"Jackass Jed." If there's one thing the Saltzman twins know how to do best it's come up with nicknames.
"Say no more. I know how much it means to you and I would be happy to help." She needs a hug.
Tell me again how it's Lizzie who's getting in the way of Josie's romantic life?
What is the SBS sex ed class like because the amount of STD jokes those students make is kind of wild.
Not Josie giving away Lizzie's pink sweater ... like we never even got to see her wear it before you did that ...
"I've always wanted to be part of a power couple." Oh boy do I have news for you Lizzie
No, because Handon's "I don't want to be special" x "I need to be special" dynamic is so delicious
"You know, you can only hold out hope for so long and be hurt by so many people before it starts to seems impossible to trust someone new." "Do you trust me?" "Of course I do." Handizzie excellence.
Why did they have to do S1 Jed so dirty
"I'm trying to rise above it. So let me freaking rise."
"I'm a tribrid. The only one of my kind. No one can represent my interests but me." So does Lizzie finally get her spot on the council after becoming a heretic?
Did the Honor Council just disappear after Hope was forgotten??
Imagine if Lizzie had brought the truth orb with her when she hunted down Hope and confessed to being in love with her
Josie using her father and her sister almost dying since Landon arrived as an excuse to kick him out is kind of funny when you remember that later she kills her sister and doesn't care when her father stuck in a coma and on his death bed.
"This school is family." Guess nobody there can like each other now
That's TWO magical trees in the Legacies universe now ...
"What did I ever do to make you hate me so much?" No because one day I will write an essay on how all of Josie's love interests end up hating Lizzie for no reason and/or misinformed reasons and there's one common denominator.
"It's not about you. It's about how you treat Josie." Is that not literally about her. Like if your problem is that she doesn't exist solely to serve Josie, isn't that having a problem with her??
"Did you think to ask her if she wanted to run for council before you assumed you'd win?" DID YOU?? BECAUSE THAT GIRL LOOKED LIKE SHE WANTED TO DIE AS SOON AS SHE HAD TO MAKE A DECISION ON THE SPOT LIKE THAT.
The irony in Penelope telling Lizzie that she's left Josie with no room for herself when it's actually the opposite way around. Like real quick Miss Park, which one of them are you telling that they can't pursue their interests because the other twin might want it too?
I will never understand why Penelope acted like Lizzie and Josie couldn't both run for council. It was an open election. All she had to do was put her name in.
"She spends all her energy taking care of you." To recap in the past four episodes she has spent her energy trying to win over Rafael, trying to convince everyone to hate Penelope and not talk about her, trying to get offensive magic put into the school curriculum, trying to get everyone to lose the football game, and trying to drive a deeper wedge between Hope and Lizzie during community service. Now which part of that is taking care of Lizzie?
"You are a black hole of time and energy and love." Is the time and energy and love in the room with us right now?
"She won't ever burn you world down." The foreshadowing to her literally burning the school down ...
Every day I wish Penelope would have been around to see Josie in her black lipstick era.
No because what happened to pretty shots like the Handon kiss? When did TV shows stop caring about cinematic beauty and nicely lit shots and fantastic coloring??
Sandwiches are a Handon thing
"I have a family friend who's expecting you." The fact that we never see Landon with the Mikaelson family friend ...
Every time I see Raf and Lizzie's scene, I think about that post about how lesbians use hetero sex as a form of self harm and there has never been a better example to exist in all of history. Like what part of being told that you're the worst person in the world makes you horny??
Also Lizzie Saltzman kiss a guy without crying challenge. Like sweetie if you're crying every time you have to kiss them, maybe it's for a reason.
Every time I hear Someone to You on the radio I get chills because of this episode

Future Diaries verse,
I realized I needed to write all this down for me but this is all the info for the current version of the legacies / tvd muses I write when it's set in the present day. I usually go backward cause it's easier and fun with everyone being messy but
Hayley
Is an alpha wolf
She was killed by Roman and his mother
She did not become a hybrid after giving birth to Hope ( bc I don't want it ) she just came very close to dying and her blood healed her slowly along with her natural accelerated healing.
Oliver Kenner, Luna Kenner, and Hope Mikaelson are her children I'll probably pick up Luna later and fit her in.
She's resurrected by Hope when she turns 18 and completes her transformation.
She has a hard time gripping things like time because of her mortality compared to Klaus who's lived a long time. She has a hard time looking sometimes because of how much has changed.
She doesn't blame her for trusting Roman she's done a lot of trusting the wrong person in her life
She's married to Jackson in every verse and they lead their small pack together before their deaths then the responsibility falls onto hope but after her resurrection, she does try to help.
When she comes back that's the first place she goes after being with hope and where she stays.
They take in lost and abandoned wolves and give them a home and that means their little space has grown and changed sense then but she's here for it.
Elena
Elena never wanted to become a vampire but when she did she tried to deal with the changes but it felt like it changed so much of her that she battled with a lot of self-hate which showed in how she lashed out against people and tried to appear more confident and embrace her strength but it's a front like Damon's. Every day was agony and the passionate love affairs and what have you dulled the ache but it never went away.
She's getting the same treatment as Hayley and Klaus. That magic brought them all back. Damon's human and so is she.
She immediately gets to her normal life trying to make up lost time
She becomes a writer, her specialty of course being fantasy and romance but along with that she'd like to become an English teacher and find other writers and push them toward their dreams.
Depending on the thread and person she is happily married to Damon and he is as insufferable as he is doting and kind to her and stefan.
Klaus
I'm not sure how everyone will feel about this but absorbing all that dark magic and then killing himself took something from him. When he comes back he is just a werewolf. The white oak stake burned that part of him away but some things still remain:
he is still immortal to some degree as long as he doesn't suffer so fatal an injury he dies he can live forever.
His blood still heals vampire bites
Out of all natural wolves, this Mf is big as hell and very powerful because of the years effect that would make him stronger but not unkillable
He can fully transform now and looks like this ( ain't he cute ) and the stories have now gone from Klaus the immortal tribrid to the great oak wolf which he likes and the sentiment has moved from terror to protection though most ( rightfully so ) are skeptical because he's still a selfish bastard and will protect his kind, his pack and his family FIRST.
Love that I get to do stuff like this since the power diff is now fucking ridiculous thanks to Hope and Landon. Anyways that's it for now ~

An Ode to a Confession - hizzie fic
- ao3 -
'I came here wanting to make you hurt...'
Hope knew that she and Lizzie should have talked about it. The huge, enormous revelation that Lizzie had dropped in her first desperate attempt at getting Hope's humanity to turn back on.
She should have done something to acknowledge that she'd heard her.
'...like you hurt all of us...'
Lizzie had bared her heart to the darkest parts of Hope's soul and had offered that heart for breaking. And Hope had broken it. She knew that.
Both her heart and-
'...but seeing you in front of me I...'
She could still feel the way Lizzie's neck cracked under Hope's short, swift twisting of fingers; could still remember the way it might as well have been the fragile skeleton of a dove for the amount of care or regret Hope had shown at the act.
The least she could have done later, once she was herself again, would have been to give Lizzie the courtesy of recognizing the confession for what it had been.
'...I hate this. I hate how many good memories I have of you...'
And yet she had remained silent.
Out of guilt for killing her. And out of fear because Hope knew that she would also need to take a closer look at the thing that had motivated her during that crucial moment.
'...I hate that I have to be the one to do this because no one else will...'
She had run from everyone else. Had left all her friends in Mystic Falls once she'd decided on that ruinous murder bender she'd gone on. Had only really hurt Alaric as her warning.
She could have run from Lizzie too. But the truth was that Lizzie had nearly touched Hope's humanity, she'd felt it, twinging and twisting inside her chest, burning with Lizzie's words.
'...but most of all I hate you...'
It had been the toss of a coin on whether or not Hope might have turned it on right then. Heads and Hope would have come back to Lizzie. Tails and she'd only pretend to.
Fate had landed on tails.
'...for being my friend...'
But Lizzie had proven herself a threat to that icy wall Hope had built. And so Lizzie had had to go.
It had been self-preservation and self-destruction merged into one. If Lizzie had not drunk her Tribrid blood before coming to face her, Hope would have - in one act - committed herself to that terrible, emotionless existence.
'...and for being a part of my weird messed-up family...'
Because even then - even that pale, awful version of her - had known that Hope would have never been able to face a reality where she had murdered Lizzie Saltzman.
The grief and the guilt she'd run from because of having needed to kill Landon was one thing. It had gutted her, - it still gutted her and always would - but that at least had been for a purpose.
'...and for making me love you Hope Mikaelson...'
Killing Lizzie because Lizzie loved her? Killing her for no reason other than to make sure that there would never come a future where Hope might come to admit the same? A future where Hope would have to risk the same kind of agony she had only escaped by turning everything off?
No. Hope would have never been able to face such a reality.
'...because no matter how far you go...'
And there was a hidden truth here.
Because Lizzie had already meant so much to Hope. Her friend. Her partner in battle and in magic. The person who had driven her mad with frustration for years before they'd finally gotten past all those many misunderstandings. The only one who remembered Hope when no one should have been able to. The same one who - as she broke the bond and left her behind - punched and cracked that frozen glass keeping apart the mirror images of Hope and her loss.
'...no matter how evil you become...'
That Lizzie had already buried something deep within Hope's immortalized heart. A little seedling of something powerful; something bright and unbreakable; something that needed only a little time and light to grow.
And Lizzie deserved to know that. She deserved an answer instead of a lie.
'...apparently, I can't be the one to stop you.'
Time had ticked ahead but Hope had remained silent. Had left unspoken the things that should have been faced.
And now... now time seemed to be trickling through the spaces between her fingers like sand.
Lizzie had been brave. Lizzie was always brave.
And Hope was trapped like a mosquito in a glue trap. Uncertain if Lizzie still waited for that answer. Or if giving it now would be yet another cruelty that would break something once again.
'...Hope? Are you...?'

Do you know what I despise about The Originals?
When the writers have the Mikaelsons be the most powerful witch bloodline when Esther was taught everything there is to know about magic by Ayanna a BENNETT WITCH. Esther went to Ayanna to turn her husband and children into vampires because Ayanna was far more experienced than her, but Ayanna refused, so Esther was forced to do the spell herself and probably had difficulties casting it. The spell probably took her days or even weeks to complete, while it probably would have taken Ayanna a night. Esther needed the help of Bonnie and her mother to kill her children, descendants of her mentor. She praised Bonnie for almost killing Klaus, which she stated was impressive. In TVD Bennett witches are the most powerful witch bloodline. Bennett witches have practically created supernatural creatures because Qetsiyah created the world's first immortals, which led to Esther getting the idea to turn her children and husband into the world's first vampires. So the TO writers really want me to believe that the Mikaelsons are the most powerful witch bloodline? First of all, Dahlia, Esther, Freya, and Hope aren't Mikaelson witches. They're Hagen witches. Dahlia was Mikael's sister-in-law, not his blood relative. She was Esther's sister, and their last names were Hagen. So, the women would be Hagen witches. Second, the TO writers want us to believe that the Hagen witches (I'm not calling them Mikaelson witches because they aren't Mikaelson witches. Mikael was an ordinary human before becoming a vampire) are the most powerful because Esther created vampires? Okay, but Qetisyah created immortality, a Bennett witch created The Five, Emily created daylight jewelry and the Gilbert rings, Bonnie literally stopped hellfire. They're powerful, how??? Also, Hope shouldn't even be that powerful at as young as 7. Come on, TO writers. She's 1/4 witch. The TO writers made her so powerful because she was the tribrid, but being part vampire and werewolf shouldn't make her magic so powerful. Especially since she was raised by Hayley for 5 years and her mother was a vampire-werewolf hybrid. Where did she get all that power??? LOL. This is why Hope Mikaelson shouldn't have existed. The first born Mikaelson witch crap was pulled out of the TO writer's ass because that didn't make any sense. I would have believed Hope was that powerful if her mother had been Bonnie. Bonnie is part of an extremely powerful bloodline, so Hope being so powerful at 7 years old would have made a lot more sense.
That's the power of white witches in tvdu! They get to love their magic, have their empowered moments and yet we have Bonnie be physically in pain whenever she casts a spell and etc.
I don't get why people say Esther is one of the most powerful witches: she isn't, she has never been and she'll never be. She had to go to Dahlia for a simple fertility spell that she wasn't able to do, she learned everything she knew thanks to Ayana and if I remember correctly, she was always channeling covens or witches. And don't even get me started on her being the "original witch", as if Esther had been the first witch to ever walk the earth. That title belonged to Qetsiyah if anything.
Though it's important to know that Dahlia actually doesn't have a last name, I don't blame you for calling her Hagen but that's her fanon surname, one made by TikTok and they're constantly changing it, but I do agree. The whole Mikael Mikaelson thing was done badly too, that's not how viking surnames work and they screwed up badly with naming Rebekah and Freya "Mikaelson", it should've been Mikaelsdottir but let's ignore this little ramble of mine and continue.
The Bennett bloodline was done badly, that's a fact. They're the creators of everything and yet they were used and discarded in an awful way. We're supposed to buy Esther is this amazing witch for creating vampires (by stealing someone's spell, mind you) when her modified spell had awful errors. The Mikaelson aren't even that powerful when it comes to magic; if Esther was that amazing at witchcraft, Kol and Freya wouldn't have been the only ones to inherit her magic.
Don't even get me started with Hope. Her character has been a plothole since the very first moment no matter how much the writers twist it, and it's very clear she only existed in the first place because she's the Renesmee of Tvdu (the Malivore plot was thought of way later, so don't bring that up) and I completely agree, she shouldn't have been that powerful. Klaus doesn't come from a strong witch bloodline and neither does Hayley, I understand they both descended from the original packs of werewolves but that only means Hope would have been feral and overpowered once she unlocked her werewolf curse, something that didn't happen.
If they wanted Hope to be so powerful just by being the tribrid, then Bonnie should have been her mother without a doubt. She's one of the most powerful witches in tvdu, she unlike Hope has a strong witch bloodline and it is what would have made the most sense plot-wise.
But we all know what the writers think about black women and having an important role in the series.

[ Joseph Morgan | He/Him] A new face takes refuge under Dark Skies. KLAUS MIKAELSON, an 25/1,000+ year old ORIGINAL HYBRID, is one of those from the FUTURE learning to navigate this changed world. People say behind their back that they’re CALLOUS but the truth is that they’re really PROTECTIVE. Their style can best be described as FRESH BLOOD PAINTED AS SCARLET HUES UPON A CANVAS, and we’ll see how that helps them fit in.
Niklaus Mikaelson. The Original Hybrid. The Immortal Who Can't Be Killed. The supernatural world knew him as naught but a sociopath and psychotic monster and behind closed doors, well, he did little to dissuade their impressions of him. Though when it ultimately came down to protecting the life of his daughter and living legacy, the immortal hybrid choose self-sacrifice - taking in the essence of the Hollow and, using the last fragments of white oak, joined his elder brother Elijah in a final send off to one another; each piercing the heart of the other and putting an end to over a thousand years of history.
Life moved on, as it always does, and eventually the world entered a new era - an era of darkness and turmoil led by the organization known as Triad. Having risen to power in the vacuum left behind by the sudden disappearance of the Tribrid, Hope Mikaelson; Triad began a crusade against the supernatural and quickly rose into terrifying positions of power throughout the world. Supernatural creatures soon became a scarcity as Triad's military-like excision of their different species spread like a plague. In desperation, the witch communities banded together to perform a ritual the likes of which were heretofore unparalleled. A resurrection of mass proportions in a last-ditch effort to try and balance the scales and fight back against the organization once and for all.
And so it was that Klaus Mikaelson found himself opening his eyes upon a world he barely recognized from the one he remembered just scarce moments prior in his memory - the time spent in the afterlife naught but blurs that rapidly faded away whenever he tried to call them to the forefront of his thoughts.
Upon hearing that his daughter was missing and had been for quite some length of time, there was little hesitation in the man's choice of action. Thus began his desperate search for any lead, even the smallest whisper, for his daughter's well-being or whereabouts - a search led through a bloody trail cut swathe through the forces of Triad; whom often found themselves unprepared to face the likes of a hybrid, let alone the Original. His search led him to reunite with the likes of one Hayley Marshall-Kenner and the pair of them - mother and father - joined forces against the insurmountable odds the supernatural world faced.
At least... until they suddenly found themselves in a world that made little sense - where time and space seemed to collide and mingle in unprecedented ways. What awaited Klaus in this new world, underneath this Dark Skies, and does it mean that he had been given a second chance to be with his daughter once again? Only time would tell.

HOPE AND HER AGE
I played kinda fast and loose with Hope's age on my prior blog but I'm realizing that I'm a dates autistic girlie so now that I've hammered out how the timeline works for my portrayal, I'm going to definitively say that Hope is canonically 18 years old when she has her first death and goes full tribrid. By the time she returns from her self-imposed post canon exile, she is at least mentally 21 years old.
However, I think it's important that she stays physically 18 for a couple of reasons (both OOC and IC).
Hope's entire life, she's had to grapple with being sheltered by the people around her (while also simultaneously held out as the chosen one, don't ask). A part of that has to do with her youth and innocence, especially in comparison to the centuries the Mikaelsons have been living through and Hayley's own difficult history. She's never had to worry about not having a roof over her head or where her next meal is coming from. She's never had to fear being hurt at their hands. As many other struggles that Hope does have in her childhood, she is largely shielded from these things and it shows in her worldview.
I think it's fascinating to explore the idea of an immortal being in the body of someone who is functionally viewed as a child in some spaces and as an adult in others. Legally, Hope is an adult on paper but there will always be people in her life who view her as a naive 18 year old teenager. She could be 3000 years old and people will still be ragging on teenage girls. Already, she's feeling the dissonance of being seen as a child in some ways while acting as the adult in many situations, and that would be amplified, the larger that gap grows. This allows for deeper complexity when it comes to relationships (both platonic and romantic).
Tungl is super weird about teenagers having sex now so consider this a heads up if you've made it this far. Hope will have relationships and she will have sex, and she will be doing it in her physically 18 year old body. It may not be explicitly referred to or written out on the dash, but everyone should just be aware it's happening so if you're going to be weird about it, you should probably leave bc we're not going to get along. Also I'm going to SUPER side-eye you if you are weird about this but also ship anything with Caroline or Stefan, considering they're both physically 17.
The angst of knowing you're going to stay young and beautiful forever while you outlive pretty much everyone around you even if you'd give it all up in a heartbeat for one more moment with them.
Hayley was not that much older than her when she had Hope/became a hybrid. Hope is honestly relieved that she didn't die physically older than her mother. She just feels like that would be wrong.

who: ingrid & theo ( @hntershunted ) where: by the cemetery; along their old library shortcut !
with her humanity firmly back in place, ingrid had a laundry list of apologies she owed. she started with heath, both by chance and the fact that killing him had been the very thing that had pushed her over the edge in the first place. theo was the obvious next person. the conversation they'd had upon her return to new orleans replayed over and over in her head the second she was back to herself. her fingers typed the text before she could stop herself. asking him to meet her along their old library route. did he block her number, or maybe change his ? only time would tell.
she sat against the bars of the iron fence, knees drawn in to her chest with one hand wrapped around them and her phone in the other. ingrid was thankful this side of the area was off the beaten path, away from prying eyes. she hadn't ventured inside the cemetery just yet. facing the place that her parents laid eternally ( when they were supposed to live ) felt impossible at the moment. the shame and guilt of all she'd done was too much right now.
phone open to the notes app looking over the apology she was crafting. nothing felt like enough. theo had been one of her closest friends, someone she'd die for, kill for even, and lost in grief she completely ditched him. once emotions filled her again everything that she knew of his past year slammed into her. he lost his father at the hands of her sister no less, lost his human life. loss had enveloped him too and she wasn't there for him. but she would be now, and for the rest of their immortal lives. if he'd let her that is. she would understand if he wanted nothing to do with her after everything.
ingrid had arrived at the spot about an hour before she'd said to meet. anticipation and anxiety telling her that she needed to get there first. a few minutes before, the tribrid locks her phone and shoves it in her jacket pocket. she couldn't obsess over what she'd say anymore. it was probably better to let the moment bring forth the words. watching and waiting had her stomach in knots. so instead she dropped her forehead onto her knees. with her other senses heightened in her vampiric state there wasn't as much of a need for vision.
