some thoughts on sakura’s chakra (theory)

While I feel that the fandom rightly praises Sakura on her chakra control and the reserves she houses in her Byakugou, I have another theory to contest with that: the fact that, outside of those particular feats, that Sakura actually has enormous reserves of chakra aside from those stored in her Yin Seal. Something I would actually like to contest and prove below:

Sakura has surpassed Tsunade, a descendant of not only the legendary Senju and Uzumaki clans known for their enormous chakra pools and vitality as Asura’s descendants, but the granddaughter of Mito Uzumaki and Hashirama Senju, two people considered unusually powerful by their own clans’ standards. 

Tsunade possesses an extraordinary inheritance with the chakra and vitality she received from her grandparents.

Of course, this post itself puts to rest any falsehoods on Sakura not surpassing Tsunade, which absolutely includes her base chakra levels. This point drives itself home and back again.

Again, in Chapter 430, we learn that Tsunade’s Byakugou disappeared because she rerouted her Creation Rebirth--which demands the Byakugou’s stores--into healing the villagers during Pein’s Assault. Sakura is never shown doing this when she utilizes the INH during the war. Then, it’s just Sakura’s chakra alone.

Again, this fact post simply asserts the above.

Chapter 650 shows what a Byakugou-fueled healing would’ve looked like, as Yin Seal: Release is in use at the point.

Unravelling the key to using the Creation Rebirth!!

Creation Rebirth, the ultimate medical technique. However, using this technique requires such an enormous amount of chakra, that it is beyond any shinobi to mould it in an instant. Tsunade, using the chakra stock kept in the seal on her forehead, has cleared this prerequisite. With Yin Seal: Release, the seal is released, becoming the source for the body regeneration technique.

The moment it is unsealed, a pattern appears on the forehead.

Releasing the seal is the greatest danger signal.”

As this furthers the fact that Sakura wasn’t using her Byakugou’s chakra reserves at this point, for either of these feats. She was dependent on her own reserves alone with no supplementary chakra

Now, consider the fact that, not only is Naruto the son of a particularly powerful member of the Uzumaki clan (Kushina), the reincarnation of Asura Otsutsuki, and the jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi, the strongest bijuu, he almost died from chakra deprivation. And Sakura was able to bring Naruto back from the brink of death by her own chakra alone with her Byakugou never stated to be activated. Even if one could diminish the fact that she might have only restored a fraction instead of a whole, she’s still reviving and healing the most powerful shinobi and bijuu in the world, respectively. Divide either Kurama or Naruto’s chakra by whatever fraction equals the difference between near-death to revival and you still have an incredibly impressive feat from someone who doesn’t have a powerful lineage or bijuu inside of her to supplement that chakra.

Conclusion

Again, while this is a theory, I don’t think it’s outlandish enough to say it’s simply headcanon. Sakura has committed many feats that furnish the evidence necessary to make me believe that it’s true, that her chakra reserves are enormous without her chakra control or Byakugou to amount to these. Chakra Control is a great ability for her to have, and Sakura is undoubtedly gifted with it, but as canon states, control alone isn’t enough to offset the expenditure of a jutsu.

Regardless of how great the control, a shinobi has to possess the necessary amount of chakra to perform whatever ninjutsu they intend to, and it’s no different for Sakura. 

Bonus

Given how popular the Slug Sage AU is with Sakura, here’s a little tidbit that, addled with everything documented above, proves that Sakura could very well be suited to senjutsu, something that demands enormous chakra reserves to even dream of embarking on.

And, considering the fact that Sakura’s been reliably proven to have caught up to Naruto and Sasuke before their revival and final power-ups granted by Hagoromo that occurred well after Naruto had learned senjutsu?

Well, anytime Katsuyu’s good to go, this girl is ready.

What do you think of the claim that states Sakura can defeat every shippuden character because she can summon katsuyu who’s vulnerable to physical attacks (as she can split herself) and spit acid which can melt the opponent ?

By every Shippuden character, do you mean every Shippuden character? Including Hashirama, Naruto, Madara, Sasuke, Tobirama, Tsunade (who can also summon Katsuyu), Neji, Gaara, Shino -and so on? Half of the characters I mentioned don’t have to get close to Sakura in order to defeat her, hell, Sasuke could just summon an Amaterasu and be done with it.

Even Kabuto (also a medic-nin) was able to learn Senjutsu and the Sage mode from the White Snake Sage -something Sakura wasn’t able (and canonically will never be able) to do:

Tsunade intended to become a sage just like her teammates but from the very beginning she lacked the chakra levels to even attempt to learn it, a trait unfortunately shared by both of her apprentices. She had hoped that utilizing this more powerful chakra would allow her to create her theoretical masterpiece, the Creation Rebirth which regenerates rather than heals, but in light of this she instead created the Strength of a Hundred Seal which could store huge volumes of chakra to power that ninjutsu. Katsuyu’s purpose during battle is to provide medical assistance to those she touches, she channelizes the invoker's chakra to heal the wounds without them having to do anything else, meaning, Katsuyu doesn’t give its own chakra, the person who summoned her does, that’s why Tsunade almost died during Pein’s attack and why it needs to be used alongside the Strength of a Hundred seal:

Katsuyu also provides support with her acid, but someone fast enough to avoid it and attack her might overpower her. The idea is to defeat Sakura, someone much easier to beat than her summon, Katsuyu.

Tsunade in fact learned to use the Strength of a Hundred Seal in conjunction with her slug summon, Katsuyu, to create the Immense Healing Network. By channeling her medical chakra through Katsuyu’s clones, she is able to transfer it into whoever they are attached to heal their wounds and restore their stamina without being physically present. Shizune, again -also a medic-nin, can literally breathe poison, a technique nor her master nor Sakura possess, so she could use that type of attack to her advantage when fighting Sakura, who needs to be close in order to punch her and avoid Katsuyu (who for some reason decided to fight against her).

Let’s remember this: Katsuyu was able to protect Sakura from physical attacks:

But in order to do that it will have to do with Sakura's reaction time as she has to summon Katsuyu (during Pain's Arc it was Tsunade who summoned her, not Sakura), the size she can summon, and the clones Katsuyu can do.

However, it will be a disadvantage to Sakura who would have to detach herself from Katsuyu quickly to retaliate, so she'll have to count on her opponent not to be fast (or smart) enough to attack while she’s moving away from her summon.

If summoning Katsuyu is that simple and she could use her in any fight, why didn’t Sakura summon her when fighting Sasori? She did so solely during the war:

Notice how she’s basically focusing all her efforts on transmitting the chakra from her Bakugou to maintain Katsuyu’s form and heal her comrades.

And I’ll repeat this: her efforts are commendable, but I don’t think she would be able to fight alongside Katsuyu while having to concentrate in order to channel her own chakra.

Tsunade was quite literally cut in half and still healed the Kages and herself as best as she could before Orochimaru saved her, and she had already used her Bakugou during Pein's Arc (meaning she had way less time to restore her chakra reserves).

Tsunade barely used Katsuyu during her fight with Orochimaru in the first part (she ordered her to take Naruto to Shizune and later on was quickly overpowered by Manda, who was mostly defeated by Jiraiya and Gamabunta)

Katsuyu used her acid yet was quickly overpowered by Manda, who squeezed her hard enough as to force her to split herself:

Tsunade was the one who fought the most, and when she had to heal herself she used her own technique.

Hell, Karin can bite herself and heal, can even use her chakra chains and hold Katsuyu down, forcing her to divide herself and making her less of a threat.

Katsuyu is basically of no use in one-on-one fights, summoning her would be a waste of chakra because the benefits of having her there aren’t many if she’s not to be used to heal a vast group of people or protection, that’s why Tsunade summoned her once when fighting Orochimaru as to combat support -she basically used her to help Naruto, and later on the village/Kages.

Sakura is never mentioned to be overpowerful as Sasuke or Naruto canonically are, and I'm more than ready to say that a pretty amount of Konoha-11 is at least able to present a decent fight against her. Neji, Lee, and Shino can easily overpower her, Ino is capable of controlling her mind without having to attack her body, and Shikamaru can easily control her through his shadow (and she doesn't have enough chakra to break free unless she releases her Byakugou, but she needs to perform the hand signs).

I understand wanting to make her powerful, and she can easily handle her own, likely winning against many other characters if it comes to a ray physical combat, yet she isn't more “powerful” than half the characters we saw in the war, and her repertoire is quite limited as well as it consists solely upon medical ninjutsu applied in different manners. Her speed is also blown out of proportion, as her medical training taught her to stay away from fights, not how to dodge attacks as that solely relies on the shinobi’s reflexes, which canonically Sakura admits ro be weaker than Chiyo’s.

Medical Ninjutsu and delicate chakra control: There’s a constant misconception in Naruto’s fandom about how Medical Ninjutsu works and the importance of Chakra control. Having delicate chakra control (delicate being the canon word used to describe Sakura’s control on her chakra flux) implies having control over a large sum of their own chakra in a small part of their body (palms) in order to release it either with their medical ninjutsu or, in the case of Sakura and Tsunade, their fighting technique (they don’t boost their physical energy, as they don’t use such control to run faster, for instance. Rather, they concentrate a large sum of their chakra on their fists and they release it upon contact).

This is canonically proven through the Byakugou seal, as both Tsunade and Sakura are able to save a total of three years of their chakra inside a small diamond-shaped seal that they need to release in order to use more energy-consuming jutsu: Mitochondrial Regeneration, summoning one-tenth of Katsuyu’s body, replenish people with larger chakra pools than them -like Obito or Onoki, and to have more powerful attacks.

“Chakra control” in the vast use of the term (nor “delicate” preceding it), has more to do with being able to withstand and use large sums of chakra, as Sasuke says “Naruto has control over this much chakra?” During their final fight –the more chakra the shinobi have, the more difficult to control and use it.

There’s a reason why Tsunade nor Sakura ever use complicated jutsu, as having delicate control over their chakra does not extend as much how many complicated techniques they can perform: To explain in lesser terms, the more complicated the jutsu, the more chakra it needs and neither Tsunade nor Sakura has a large pool as Sasuke or Naruto do. Their delicate control only means that they won’t waste any energy, as they can concentrate the required amount without wasting the rest; for instance, if a jutsu requires 80% of their energy, while the average shinobi will use at least 90% (wasting 10%), Sakura is able to delicately control her chakra to use only the 80% needed, while maintaining the 20% remaining. The primary difference between Naruto and Sakura is that, while a jutsu takes 80% of Sakura’s chakra, it takes, perhaps 10% (if he wastes a portion as he has less control over his energy) of Naruto’s, as he has immense reserves thanks to Kurama.

All of hinHinata wankers say that sakura lacks diversity in her jutsu, they fail to see that Hinata is only  a typical hyuga main branch that can do nothing special, while sakura inherited the power of a sanin.

FULL NAME:

Amara - A name with many meanings, though her parents named her with the original Sanskrit in mind.  “Immortal”, or immortality rather, was an aspiration that they had for their daughter. Of course, as a pureblooded witch, her name would be cemented in at least some small facet of history - but they craved so much more for her. She would be an impeccable lady, groomed to be what women envied and men craved all while maintaining the ability to dice them apart with her sharp wit. Amara would be someone they could be proud of.

Eugenia - An ancestral name, passed down to numerous members of the Zabini family. None are certain whether or not the story is true, but it has been passed through the family that they are named for a 3rd Century Saint who escaped persecution by impersonating a man.

Zabini - (I am taking some creative liberties here, so if you don’t like it I will absolutely change it!) The name has evolved through the passage of time, but originally it was Zabaione. Zabaione is an Italian custard-based dessert, which the family gained fame for marketing centuries before. A fortune has been amassed over the years through further creation of popular magical desserts as well as the production of dessert based wines and liquors. In the last twenty years the family has made moves to go international with their brand, spreading slowly through Europe and planning to eventually make their way to the America’s and Asia.

However, I would like to add a few things.  As a character who’s future is so important to her I would like to imagine she pays a lot of attention to what clubs she is in, and grasp at whatever opportunities that she can get, she also is a talented witch which leads me to believe she may have been invited to the Slug Club. I’d also like to add her to the charms club, as I imagine this is one of her favored subjects.

BIOGRAPHY:

Great shame had been brought upon them with the birth of their first child. The Zabini family was ruled with pride, and of course the fact that they had been expecting had been splashed far and wide. It was with even more pride that they introduced the world to their son - Ricardo Zabini. He was handsome, well-read and playful and Nailah and Gianluco could not have been happier parents. It was his eleventh birthday that initiated their shame. Surely, the owl delivering his Hogwarts letter had just managed to get lost along the way. Maybe the ministry had simply forgotten, after all they had moved from Italy to Britain less than fifteen years ago. Another year passed and they lost hope. As their peers pointed out the boy had never actually showed any real magical talent. A squib. They’d given birth to a squib.

It was with absolute horror that the couple learned of their second pregnancy. They retreated completely from the eyes of the public fearful that their misfortune would repeat. In spite of this fear they still deeply loved their children, and though they hid there face they still wished for the best for them - even if it meant leading muggle lives. Amara was born in a small cottage, with just a healer and her family. She surprised her family when she began showing magical talent around the age of five. Eventually, they came out of hiding and Ricardo and Amala were ushered back into lavish society. If anyone could keep them from becoming societal outcast, it would be their talented and beautiful daughter.

Amara was exactly what they had hoped for. From the moment they set a book in her hands she never stopped reading. While she adored fiction, she had also adopted a quick desire to learn all that she could. Gianluco hired men to find books on healing, magical architecture, creatures of all nations, and so many other subjects. The family library continued expanding as the girl soaked in each new thing. In public situations she didn’t speak much, but when she did her contributions to the conversation were usually riveting. Typically, she remained in the background. At first this upset her parents, but they eventually got over it at the approach of their peers remarking on her beauty and the brilliance of her smile. When the time came they were certain that they would at least be able to make her a good match.

Starting Hogwarts was a dream come true for the scholarly girl. There were endless avenues for her to explore and for weeks she could hardly curb her excitement. That all came crashing down when she actually did start. A couple of people already knew her, and as she was one who didn’t speak much they had already pigeon-holed her as someone far less intelligent than she already was a few even went so far as to point out that there was no way she could be a talented witch - one certainly couldn’t be when they had a squib for a brother. For a little while she tried to fight it, raising her hand in lessons and getting extra credit as frequently as she could. It didn’t take her long though to figure out that it wasn’t worth fighting for anyone’s approval. Let them think her inept. Let them think she cared for nothing more than just her appearance. Amara knew what the truth was, and she knew she could use their opinion of her to her advantage. She maintained her invisibility while gaining knowledge, and occasionally secrets, from those around her. Soon, she knew who to go to in order to get whatever it is that she wanted within the castle - including Thorfinn Rowle, her favorite little play thing and protector. Her network continues to expand, and slowly her invisibility is beginning to fade.
