a few weeks back i was at my cousin’s wedding reception and at some point my uncle turns to me and goes, “so what are these books i keep seeing you post on snapchat? you’re always the first to tell us about the next big book series before it blows up, like harry potter and twilight and the hunger games, so i probably need to read these next, right?”

i completely short-circuited because i’d forgotten he added me on snapchat a while back and just had to stammer out “oh… i don’t think these ones are going to get mainstream popular like that… they’re pretty niche and kind of weird…” all while the kill bill sirens are blaring in my head
