I was wondering about your understanding of the Norman Invasion, and about Normandy in regards to hetalia? The one I usually go with is that Normandy was a separate (maybe younger brother of France?) personification, due to the distinct and unique culture gained from the Nordics, rather than just France himself. I think this creates an interesting dynamic! What are your thoughts?

I've always stuck to canon characters and their make up because otherwise I end up going down a rabbit hole of accuracy and fact checking and 'what constitutes as a nation anyway?' talks with myself ;u;

Normandy is so distinctive in French history and even France today, with its own unique history, dialects and historical impact- it probably should have its own personification in the Hetalia world. But then in that case, so should Yorkshire, or Kent. Or Holland, or Texas, or Sápmi, Quebec... you get the idea haha

In terms of the Normal invasion I assume you're talking about Normandy's invasion of England and the subsequent shift in culture and history that took place and honestly? It's so much. The language impact alone I could write you a linguist essay on (I won't, been there done that). For this area in Hetalia I stick to England and France, Arthur and Francis, only for ease, because Hetalia for me has to have some air of major innacuracy and vague definitions for it to be able to function without driving me insane. That being said I like reading other alternatives, I've said it before and I'll say it ten million more times but I really liked how Moonlighten did this for England in their Feel the Fear series so it can be done and done well, just not by lil old me
