Great Blue Turaco

The great blue turaco (Corythaeola cristata) is a bird species of the family Musophagidae. At 70–76 cm (28–30 in) in length, it is the largest species of turaco.

The species ranges from Guinea in the west, and east across the sub-Saharan nations to the Imatong Mountains in South Sudan; it also occurs in Uganda, Tanzania and western Kenya, south to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola. It inhabits rainforests and gallery forests.

itt ülök Etiópiában, az addisz ababai reptéren, iszom az egydolláros üveges kólát és várom az éjfeles bécsi gépet. egy hónapja érkeztem Jubába, 18 hónap kihagyás után egy hetet töltöttem ott, mindenkivel találkozni kellett, 7 napom volt reggel 8 és este 9 között betáblázva, vagy interjúztam, vagy haverkodtam. este 9 után átírtam az interjúkat. elrepültem Yambióba, a kongói határra, az egyik kedvenc helyem a világon. 8 napon keresztül össze-vissza csavarogtam a határvidéken, próbálva megérteni, mi folyik körülöttem, elautóztam Meridibe, keletre, a város szélén kezdődő erdőségekben tanyázik és aranyat bányászik a National Salvation Front - egy gerillamozgalom, akik nem írták alá a békemegállapodást - onnan vissza Yambióba, majd le délre a kongói határra, ahol a folyón túl már a kongói Garamba nemzeti park van, ott vert tábort a közép-afrikai Seleka, és jó eséllyel a Lord’s Resistance Army is errefele bújkál éppen. pro-tipp: bushmeat-vadászokkal érdemes beszélgetni, tudják, ki mozog az erdőkben. utolsó nap elautóztam Nzarába, ami nem csak arról nevezetes, hogy itt tört ki az első dokumentált Ebola-járvány, de itt van az egyik legnagyobb kereskedelmi tikfa-ültetvény, 2600 hektáron. az illegálisan kivágott tikfa és mahagóni az egyik legfontosabb bevételi forrása a különféle fegyveres csoportoknak. visszarepültem Jubába (kösz United Nations Humanitarian Air Service), egy napra, onnan le Toritba, a kenyai-ugandai hármashatárra, a hegyek közé, ahol dühös lotuko fiatalok 72 órát adtak az összes NGO-nak, hogy távozzanak. nagyon dühös fiatalokkal interjúzni és elnyerni a bizalmukat egy nagyon trükkös műfaj. egy hetet voltam ott, onnan vissza Jubába (éljen az Imatong Airways), megint egy napra, onnan egyenesen Nairobiba három nappal ezelőtt, beszélni a főnökeimmel, meg hát ott se jártam majd két éve, minden baráttal találkozni kellett ott is. jó lesz holnap pihenni és a csajommal lenni.

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, April 3 (PIA)-- Locals of Pililla, Rizal can now have their medications and other drugstore products delivered through the Better Med program   The initiative devised by the Pililla Municipal Government and members of Progresibong Kababaihan ng Pililla (PKP) recently started operating on March 31 and pools local requests to buy medications and other products such as diapers and infant milk which are not available in drugstores within the town and then deliver them to stakeholders.   Better Med does not charge delivery fees and designates one rider per barangay to gather orders, purchase and delivery house-to-house or meet up at the nearest landmark in order to keep locals within their homes amidst the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon.   The LGU adds however only orders for medicine, infant milk and diapers will be entertained.   Local drugstores will also be called beforehand to check if listed orders are available for purchase within the town.   Mobile numbers of riders for barangays Bagumbayan, Imatong, Halayhayin, Hulo, Malaya, Niogan, Quisao, Takungan and Wawa are listed at the LGU's Better Pililla Facebook Page.   Requests are received by local riders from 6:00AM to 11:00AM while deliveries are carried out from 1:00PM to 5:00PM.   Locals are required to prepare their prescriptions, Government ID or proof of residency, Senior/PWD IDs & booklets (if applicable), discount cards (if available) and, cash and place them in a plastic or envelope marked with their names.   Better Med riders are also equipped with disinfectant, gloves and facemasks for the safety of both the rider and the public.   Netizens of Pililla commended the LGU for the innovative service through social media.   Meanwhile, the municipal government also thanks PKP and other volunteers for rising to the occasion as 8 out of the 11 riders are women. South Sudan War: Fighting reported a day after declaring Ceasefire

War continued in South Sudan as rival forces clashed in Imatong, a new state, a day after Sudan President Salva Kiir declared a unilateral ceasefire with the country’s rebels.

The rebel’s military spokesperson, William Gatjiath Deng claimed pro-government militias  attacked their Imatong base.

“The Juba regime movements and aggression also followed a recent meeting in Juba between General Salva Kiir Mayardit and Lt. Gen J.J Okot at which Col Lotara was ordered to lead brutal and merciless Mathiang Anyor operations against the remaining civilian population of Ayaci county,” he told press Tuesday.

He, however, said the rebel command under the sector 9 division, Lt. Gen Justine Akudo and Major General Anthony Osuru Ongwaja “defeated” pro-government forces along Kinyenga-Lobone road.

The rebel official also claimed dozens of the government-allied militias were killed, allegations Sudan Tribune could not easily verify.

“The remaining [members] of Juba regime elements fled towards Magwi. Another Lt. Col Mubarak Rueben was nearly apprehended during the operation, having narrowly escaped from Lyire, where he was sent to bribe people and destabilize the area for the JCE [Jieng Council of Elders] and its regime in Juba,” further said Gatjiath.

The rebel spokesperson castigated the national dialogue initiative President Kiir launched on Monday, saying it lacked representation.

Members of different rebel groups, their supporters and other political party members doubt the success of the national dialogue. Kiir, during the signing vowed not to accept to return of his former deputy-turned rebel leader, Riek Machar who leads one of the biggest rebelling group

A 94-member steering committee for national dialogue was sworn in to start the work of bringing harmony and peace to the people of South Sudan.

The spokesperson of the army has warned unauthorized individuals or soldiers who have put up illegal checkpoints within Juba of serious consequences.
