It’s Time - Imagine Dragons

The beauty of this song is in its ambiguity. 

My guess is that the person speaking is talking about moving on and moving forward. That moving on from something or more specifically, that someone... is the worst journey. And it’s done alone.

This person reminds themselves and the people they love and specifically that person, that they aren’t going to change who they are. Perhaps this is their way of saying, this too shall pass. 

But its finally time to begin the process. There’s pain but hope in that line “it’s time to begin isn’t it?” It means accepting that this fate is permanent with hope going forward.
