headcanon that the todoroki siblings grew up ice skating with their mother rei has an ice quirk, so maybe she grew up with it fuyumi and natsuo went the most. touya was obsessed with getting endeavor's approval, so he often refused, but he did go sometimes. by the time shouto could have gone, he was seperated from his siblings and rei wasn't very stable

fuyumi and natsuo kept going even after things fell apart. they kept that one thing that reminded them of their mother, and no matter what happened they would always go skating on those cold days during winter break when neither had school, and later on fuyumi didn't have class to teach

but, once the siblings start talking, fuyumi and natsuo take shouto ice skating with them, teaching him how so that they can all go with their mother once she's out of the hospital once touya is arrested and put in a reform program, it takes awhile before he's trusted to go places but once he is, they invite him to come with them and maybe, once, during winter or up in the mountains with the league, touya taught them because it was one part of his childhood that made him happy and he wanted to share that happiness with the people he cared about a day where they don't think about work or the war. a day where they just let themselves be people, let themselves have a day of fun. a day of purely enjoying the others company

Are you feeling about Touya? I can't imagine Horikoshi it would be way too cruel, especially since him and Shouto need to eat soba together.

Feeling hopeful. I know the general consensus in the Dabi fandom right now is fear and despondency but when I look at the overall picture of the story, Touya dying doesn't make any sense and there's a lot of setup for him to survive.

The random guard/whoever saying Touya is heading toward a slow death means nothing to me. Not when Ujiko, the brilliant (but evil) doctor who saved Touya from certain death on Sekoto Peak, was wrong about Dabi's body not surviving a month after he woke up from the coma. The core of Touya's character is literally about survival and determination, going above and beyond to exceed expectations to live and be seen. I also feel that there might be something within Touya that allows him to survive, which is how he has any fire resistance at all. He was crying actual real tears this chapter instead of blood, which hints that his body is healing. I've seen other people theorize that Shouto's Phosphor has healing properties, which is promising and more in line with the stories' themes and messages than Touya dying again.

Overall, the tone of the Todoroki family arc is positive and hopeful. Yes, Fuyumi quit her teaching position, but one of the students' parents helped her find another one. This means that not only does this one parent believe in her, but so does this new employer. And those kindergarteners that Shouto connected with during the remedial license Arc have been supporting him this entire time. These instances show that society is changing their attitude towards the relatives of those who commit crimes and are willing to accept the Todorokis back into society and are literally cheering for them. This doesn't change the fact that some people will definitely hate them, but it's not all doom and gloom. And the soba thing - what a way to connect to someone who was born to replace you! That's a deep connection right there, and that's good. The story has focused a lot on connections and how life-saving and important those can be. Dying would rip that connection and go against the themes

Also, I feel like the Todoroki family would be much more worried and emotionally wrecked if they thought Touya was actually dying. Endeavor keeps talking to Touya about the future and visiting him. Unless all of them are in denial about what is happening, then why would they torture themselves talking about something that can't happen? All these conversations they want to have etc etc. It would be cruel, and Horikoshi is a sensitive guy. I don't think he could write something like that, and it doesn't fit what he's written so far.

To go further than Touya, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Toga and Spinner also on their deathbeds currently too, tbh. I'm thinking that mysterious new character (who is Tenko, no doubt), saved by his regeneration quirk, may help them. There's set up for it via Kurogiri telling Shigaraki his friends are waiting for him, and not to mention Shigaraki's always been the hero of the lov. He might not have saved them emotionally like the hero kids did, but he can save them physically. I'm not sure how exactly it'll all happen but I think they will all be okay in the end.

I know some readers have a different, more critical/negative opinion than I do, and that's fine. Ever since Shigiraki died, I've been saying that it's going to get worse before it gets better and that we're not going to see a resolution to that soon, and that's all been happening. I hate this saying, but, it's not over till the fat lady sings. I'm just going to keep on reading. I keep telling my friends this over and over again but it's kind of like reading the last Harry Potter (author is dead to me) book and stopping/rage quitting when Harry is killed by Voldemort in the forest. Look, I know I'm the "Izucrew and LOV Forced Team-Up AU" Guy, but I'm a little curious about the Boxing AU. And I have like 4-ish questions-

1) Is Aoyama apart of the LOV Gym or the U.A Gym? Does AFO send Aoyama to spy on the U.A Gym for some godforsaken reason?

2) What's up with Endeavor and Dabi in this AU? As well as Oboro.

That's fine, considering I'm also kinda invested too. This isn't my AU, but it's very fun to think about.

1. Is Aoyama apart of the LOV Gym or the U.A Gym? Does AFO send Aoyama to spy on the U.A Gym for some godforsaken reason?

I would say he's in the U.A. Gym, but not as a spy. He starts off in the U.A. Gym, he's there before Izuku, but for one reason or another, he goes to LOV Gym. It doesn't make sense to many in U.A. Gym, until he reveals that he wants to box Izuku on a professional stage, kind of like Miyata from Hajime no Ippo.

But, in the LOV Gym, he'd learn how to get away with fouls and stuff, basically tainting the sport he claims to love, and would only get his head on straight again after Izuku beats him. Maybe he'd retire, or he'd go through the Mashiba school of redemption.

2. What's up with Endeavor and Dabi in this AU? As well as Oboro.

I'd imagine All Might as the world champ, undefeated, and Endeavour as the Gonzalez to All Might's Ricardo. Someone who has challenged him twice, lost both, and wants to challenge him a third time but cannot.

So, he'd push this onto Dabi, his first son, only for Dabi to have osteogenesis imperfecta or something, a disease that makes your bones brittle. So, Endeavour would have Fuyumi, but want a son to pass his teaching onto, but Natsuo has no interest or natural talent for boxing.

Then he'd have Shouto, and suddenly his previous children meant nothing, including Touya. Touya would work desperately to combat his brittle bones, via surgery, bracing, physical therapy, and so on, but it didn't matter - as Shouto had the natural talent and strength to box as Endeavour wanted.

Angered, he wouldn't fake his death, but he would go to the LOV Gym and want to beat Shouto to prove to himself and Endeavour that he's strong.

As for Oboro, I can see him in a Nekota position, as in he'd be a retired boxer who had his career cut short due to brain damage. He and Kurogiri would be two different characters, however, as human experimentation isn't exactly a boxing trope.

3. Mirko? 👀👀👀

Oh, she'd be the best female boxer, no question. Maybe she'd have a rivalry with Stars and Stripes. Like, Mirko would be the Japanese champ and is going to challenge Stars and Stripes for the World belt.

I can see going into unisex boxing matches, being underestimated, and then kicking ass. Well, punching the shit out of people.

She'd be an inspiration for most female boxers.

4. Is this a quirked or quirkless AU?

No idea, this isn't my AU. But, if I were the one to write it, it'd be quirkless with callbacks to their canon counterparts' quirks.

Like Shouto being cold in every day life, but being heated in the ring, or Bakugou having an explosive temper, or Ochako being uplifting or punching hard enough to lift her opponets into the air, and so on.

What would happen if Yabureme got hit with a funny quirk. Like for example he got deaged into a teen or child for a day or so. Imagine the funny totally not angsty hijinks that would happen. Would he retain his Yabureme features and/or brainwashing as a kid? Would he be normal young Zawa just stuck in a room with villains assuming (correctly) that he got kidnapped? Would they try to experiment on kid him if he was back to his un-noumu'd self to see what would happen or would they not bother wasting resources since it would be reversed later? Would seeing him as a kid and not brainwashed have an impact on any of the LOV? We know Spinner was already feeling pretty yucky about the situation. The world needs to know these sorts of things Deca!!

If the comedy gods decided to give us a sitcom episode where Yabureme was a kid for a few days, I'd say he would probably be a mix of both Yabureme and Aizawa. He'd still be missing all of his memories but would have a little more of his old personality. It would also culminate in him forgetting a lot of his training, and not really remembering who any of the LoV are, either, aside from Shigaraki. Picture a much less snarky and much more anxious and wide-eyed young Aizawa

They would pretty much just be problem-solving and taking care of him the entire time. I'd say this would be more of a wholesome situation (with the LoV???? is it possible?????? yes) than anything. Pretty much everyone, not just Spinner, would be a lot more willing to say something and protect a kid from Shigaraki and Dabi being bullies, and I'd say they'd probably give in and leave him alone, too.

The episode would mostly be down time while they waited for the quirk effect to wear off. Toga and Twice would rope him into card games, Compress would do some magic tricks (where as before, Compress would really never pay Yabureme much mind), Spinner would lend him his handheld game and teach him how to play whatever game he's loaded up.

Toga’s scenario sounds exactly like the beginning of Wednesday

Tomura Shigaraki

People were definitely hesitant to give this man a second chance. He was doing his best but no one believed in him. He got a job at U.A. where he could teach the students about how destructive quirks can be and how to limit the amount of damage done to any party. This was arranged so that he could be on close watch.

There was one teacher he had taken a particular interest in. They were an up and coming Hero, as well as Aizawa’s assistant. They always greeted him with a smile and a wave, and they were also the one who showed him around U.A. 

You were his first friend, proof that he turned over a new leaf and left behind a life of crime. You always made him a bento for lunch (he loves your cooking) and always tried to have at least 3 conversations with him.

After a while, he asked why you were so kind to someone like him. He wasn’t wary or anything, he was just curious. You smiled and said ‘to me, being a hero means giving people a second chance. Society turned its back on you first, so you had every right to be angry. I’m just sorry I couldn’t help you sooner.’ This made him blush a little.

Eventually, after being work friends (and just friends in general), Tomura got the courage to ask you out. He was about to go in and hug you when you said yes, but he looked at his hands in disdain. You pulled his gloves off the table and handed them to him, and once he put them on you wrapped your arms around him. You pulled back a little to place a kiss on his cheek and he stiffened but then relaxed and wrapped his arms around you as well.

Dabi 

People were wary of him not just because of his actions but also because of his appearance. The scars he got from his quirk obviously showed and he had staples and stitches. When he got a job at UA, he had to teach the older students about how destructive quirks can be and how not to inflict too much damage to yourself while still pushing yourself past your comfort zone.

You were assigned as his teacher’s assistant, and that caused you both to become close over time. You were the only one who actively tried to befriend him. Before class, as you both set everything up for the day ahead, you would always shake his hand and give him a warm smile before making your way to your corner desk.

He was grateful for you. You made his life that much easier, and he appreciated it a lot. You would spend your lunch breaks at his desk while discussing everything that came to mind. He’s even told you about a few of his villainous journeys.

One day, during one of these lunch breaks, he asked why you were so kind and genuine. You smiled and told him, ‘Well, it would be kind of weird to teach the next generation of heroes without reflecting the virtues a hero should have. Plus I figured that there was more to you than what most see.’

Eventually, after class on a Friday afternoon, he called out your name before you left. You turned and gave him your full attention, and that’s when he asked you out for a date at 7. You suddenly felt shy before nodding. Dabi walked you out before he pressed a kiss to your forehead and headed back to his apartment.

Himiko Toga

Since she was young enough, she was transferred mid-semester as a second-year student. After all, she had gotten nearly perfect scores on the written Entrance Exam and showed great Battle IQ in the practical Entrance Exam.

You were one of her classmates, and your teacher gave you the task of showing her around and bringing her to her dorm. Instead of looking at her in disgust as most of the other students did, you had a friendly grin and shook her hand.

You both instantly became friends. You would have study sessions that ended in laughter because you both were doing impressions of your classmates. You became assignment partners, lunch buddies, basically each other’s ride-or-die.

One day, during one of your study sessions, the conversation got serious for a second. She asked you why you were so nice to her even after learning about her actions and you held her hand in your own. You told her, ‘A hero is supposed to give everyone a second chance. That also means former villains.’

Eventually, once you were packing up after class and getting ready to head to your dorm, Toga pulled you aside and asked you out. Once you said yes, she almost tackled you to the ground in a hug while peppering kisses all over your face.

I can only imagine the chaos if reader developed the same quirk as dad Dabi. I mean, imagine, Dabi gets a call from reader’s pre-school, only to find that half the place is already burnt down because her flame quirk developed during nap.

Hmmm but okay like all I can imagine is Dabi sprinting all the way to the pre school to get you because he is so worried about you, the thought of your body not being able to handle your own quirk like him is eating him up. When he reaches the school, he sees the firetrucks pulling out of the school and he only runs faster towards the school.

You had burnt down one of the classrooms, but fortunately, no one got hurt. Except you. Physically, you were fine, Mentally, on the other hand, you were crying in the corner because your hand was still on fire and everyone, even the teachers were so afraid to come near you, avoiding you like plague instead of helping you. If Dabi wasn't preoccupied by you, he would've definitely yelled at everyone up for isolating you like that.

Dabi took slow, careful steps towards you, heart breaking a little when you yelled at him to stay back, that you don't wanna hurt him. But with little steps and his soft voice that he only used for you, he came close to you, taking your alight hand in his and telling you to close your eyes and listen to his voice. He calms you down and manages to put out the fire, tutting a little when he sees a very minor burn on your pinky finger, but he still treats it with great care. Taking you home, he applies burn ointment on your finger. assuring you that none of this is your fault and then the two of you spend the rest of the evening eating your favourite takeout and binging on your favourite show.

You already know Dabi is gonna pull you out of school the next day. Not only because he despises them for not helping you, and knowing that he's the only one who can teach you about your quirk and keep you safe, but also because you're gonna be traumatised by going back to that place. He knows those kids are gonna pick on you, bully you, call you a monster because of your powerful quirk. And while Dabi hopes that you don't get any more injuries by your quirk, he much rather happen it around him so that he's there to help you.

My heart just aches from imagining all the times Dabi is there to wipe your tears and bandage your wounds, feeling helpless when you end up developing asthma because of your quirk. Dabi will always remember the first time you had an asthma attack, because he will never forget how utterly powerless he felt in that moment when his child was wheezing for air in his arms and he couldn't do anything.

Fortunately, Dabi was at ease when he took you to Natsuo and he diagnosed you. And when Enji walked into the clinic to check on Natsuo, he met you. And thats how you were introduced to the Todoroki clan.

Imagine Dabi's rage when Enji offers to train you in order to help you control your quirk. You know Dabi blows up at him for even daring to think that he should do that, especially after the fan-fucking-tastic job Enji did with traumatising his kids. The only reason why he doesn't incinerate his father in that moment is because you walked in, rubbing your eyes tiredly as you ask why he's yelling at grandpa.

And Dabi absolutely loathes it when you're just gushing about Grandpa Enji being the best because he won all the games at the fair for you, and he took you out for ice cream ( "3 SCOOPS DAD! WITH SPRINKLES AND CHOCOLATE SAUCE-") or how Grandpa Enji got you that sold out Hello Kitty stuffie.

Oohhh imagine the shock when Dabi finds out that the only real danger to you is leaving you alone with Rei. He suspected his mother was not all well mentally, but to physically harm you all because you didn't want her to do your hair one day.

And imagine how Dabi would be so mad at his family, that he ends up taking you to LoV because right now, a gang of villains that treat him like family and absolutely adore you seems a far safer environment.

Omg what about Yandere Todoroki Clan VS Yandere LoV. Yall ready know Tomura is carrying you on his hip while the league fights the Todoroki clan, Kurogiri is by his side, ready to transport them out of there if things go south.

And imagine when reader grows up and starts her angsty/rebellious phase. *GAPS* OMG WHAT ABOUT WHEN SHE GETS BF BAKUGOU?????? Omph, it'd painful to just think about.

Ok lmk if you vibe with this (based off a dream I had). Imagine being touya’s baby sis that he loved the most of his siblings before he “died”. You grow up and become a hero, and get assigned to an infiltration case involving the LOV. One of your teammates has a Disguise quirk and casts a spell to change your appearance while you sneak into the base—only you get caught by Dabi, who decides to teach you a lesson about what happens to heroes who poke their nose where it doesn’t belong. It’s degrading, it’s painful, and Dabi doesn’t hold back. Only after he’s made good use of all your holes and left you a teary mess on the floor does the disguise spell start to wear off and Dabi realizes with horror just who he’s looking at.

Oh, Dabi would be so smug about catching you. He always seems to know when heroes are sulking around and finding you just further strokes his ego- he loves to catch you goody two-shoes and put you in your place.

And by putting you in your place that means he’s gonna fuck every hole of yours raw and make you take his load again and again. He’s going to smack the shit out of you and brand your skin with his quirk, leave the imprint of his hand burned around your throat for everyone to see. He’s going to bruise your snooping ass black and blue and he’ll break down all your pride as a hero, make you sob and beg and plead for him to stop, that you’re sorry, to please please please let you go.

All that begging will just get laughed at- cold and cruel and mocking as he stomps his boot into your gut and spits on your face.

He’ll be so satisfied with himself as he watches you curled up on the floor- shaking, fucked stupid with tears streaming down your face and his cum leaking out your abused holes. Catch him grinning like the cat that got the cream as you wheeze on the dirty floor and stare dead eyed up at him.

Until your image begins to melt away and reveal your true identity, that is.

Shigaraki has another reason to hate Chisaki. He takes Eri, and Chisaki’s arms AND THEN HIS LEGS TOO FOR GOOD MEASURE.

No one except Kurogiri knows how to deal with children and be a competent parental figure, and he’s not there, soooo..... it’s like sibling chaos.

Dabi sees Eri as a second chance to be a better big brother, and he swears on his crispy self he isn’t gonna fuck it up this time. Eri always asks him the deep questions and asks him for advice and he panics and has to bullshit a good answer and pretend like he’s got being an adult down pat.

Twice is surprisingly good with kids and manages to make Eri laugh a lot, and gets her to warm up to rest of the crew, and convince her she’s a lot safer now with them. He makes a lot of doubles of toys sometimes incase she breaks them.

Shigaraki is the crusty older brother who has zero experience being a brother so he comes off as intimidating, like a mangy rabid trashcan possum. But eventually he’s caught doing baby/kid-talk and censoring himself a lot around Eri and he’s always the one to get her snacks and juice boxes after someone else said no, because “I’m the leader here what I say goes.” 

Toga gets to be a big sister and she absolutely ADORES having Eri around and plays with her a lot, picks out her outfits, does her hair, and tries teaching her self defense moves... with knives... which always ends with someone else accidentally getting stabbed...

Spinner is the brother who lets Eri play his video games, and teaches her to get past hard levels, and coaches her through boss battles, and he gives her his gameboy when she’s bored. He also tries to do his best to sit down and teach her homeschooling and basic math skills.

Compress is the most sane person here and he is actually the one who makes sure nothing stupid or dangerous happens. He becomes the group dad friend who always checks the closet and under the beds for Chisaki monsters, tucks Eri in at night, tells her bedtime stories, and generally keeps a good eye on her. He even sits in a chair by the bed at night until she feels safe enough to fall asleep.

By the time the heroes even know about Eri and that she’s in the LoV’s possession she’s a feral little gremlin shit who loves her weird adoptive murder-family.

Headcanons ~ Parent issues

Also partially a theory. All for One parents were likely good people but not good parents. As he was born during the dawning of quirks he would be born in Japanese society of modern day. Which means those that stood out are shunned and outcasted from the group. You are raised to be part of the mold, to fit in, and outliers are bullied until they do.

All for One, being one of the first, had a lot of traits that would make him stand out in society. His crimes in a strict society is ‘selfish’, stands out(white hair), dramatic, hand markings, and basically the things he loves about villain characters. Remember despite the western influence he is still Japanese. So all these things wouldn’t just make him seem ‘odd’ it vilifies him even if he wasn’t actually doing anything malicious.

Now add crazy powers that everyone freaking out about and you have a boy that stands out drastically. His parents might have tried to make him fit in like dying his hair and trying to teach him how to be polite even when wronged. But he would have resisted it since his quirk instinctively makes him selfish and being forced to change is an offense to a young kid. Like how dare you why can’t you just love me? What wrong with how I am?

Yoichi, however, while still had the white hair color had a demeanor that fitted a lot better into society. He was calm, quiet, and was a team player that would work with others. It possible that despite being sickly the parents subtly favored him. Thus why always emphasize AFO to take care of his little brother.

It was the one selfish thing he enjoyed doing that also made him seem like a good person to society. He was praised for taking care of his brother and his little brother appreciated him. His brother found his quirk amazing not something to hide either so he grew very attached.

What does this have to do with parents?

I believe they thought they were doing good because not many people know how to raise a sociopath. Because that is what All for One is and how he able to be so far removed from others despite being human. They only were able to ingrain in him the importance of family but he twisted it into literally trapping family.

I imagine his backstory a mix of ALL the main LOV own. Shunned by parents because something wrong with him(Toga and blood desire/AFO and his lack of empathy), outcasted by peers because stands out by fear(Spinner), neglected and unloved by parents for the surperior offspring(Touya/Dabi), and of course Tomura. His family killing him with kindness while they looked down on all his desires.

Does this justify everything he has done? No, but it explains why he is drawn to other kids fucked over by society. Why he always seems to be there before disaster and his hatred to bad parents despite being a terrible person. To him it’s personal it feels like he’s looking at his own parents.

And that is why he is suddenly Dabi biggest supporter in newest chapter and so hostile toward Endeavor. He’s seeing his parents in him.

-He didn’t want to go anymore and you didn’t want him to leave but he kinda sorta had to.

- “A-and don’t you give him my name if something goes wrong, stick to the name we decided.”

And Dabi asks you what you’re doing and you say something along the lines of ‘I thought we could match.’ Maybe he'd roll his eyes and scoff or whatever, or say you were being childish, but I think that secretly he'd be into it and maybe even a little bit flattered.
