Maximizing Engagement - The Right Image Size for URL Sharing
Social Media Platforms
Facebook : Facebook recommends that you use a photo size of 1200 by 630 pixels whenever you can. The very least you need is 600px x 315px.
Twitter : The best size for an image to be when sending a link to Twitter is 1200 by 675 pixels. The very least you need is 600px x 335px.
LinkedIn : When you post a link on LinkedIn, the best picture size is 1200 x 627 pixels.
Instagram : When you add a link to a post on Instagram, the size of the picture changes based on whether the post is square, vertical, or horizontal. When a link is shared in the caption of a normal post, on the other hand, the preview picture size is usually around 1080 by 1080 pixels.
Pinterest : If you want to post pictures with links on Pinterest, it's best to use vertical images with dimensions like 600 x 900 pixels.
Recommended image size for link sharing: 600 x 900 pixels.
Pinterest is highly visual, so make sure your images are high-quality and attention-grabbing.
Use vertical images with a 2:3 aspect ratio for the best results on Pinterest.
WhatsApp : When you share a link on WhatsApp, a tiny screen image of about 400 by 400 pixels is created immediately.
Tumblr : If you want to link to a picture, the best size is 1280 by 1920 pixels. Tumblr pushes people to be creative and express themselves, so when you post, think about who you're writing for and try to give them something to look at.
Reddit : Reddit does not show thumbnails of linked pictures like other sites do. Instead, when you share a link, the person who receives it will see the title and description you give it.
YouTube : When a link to a video on YouTube is shared, the clip is usually used as a preview. It's important that the thumbnails for your movies look good and are interesting to look at.
Snapchat : Snapchat is well-known for how it focuses on short-lived images. When you share a link, a picture sample might not always show up.
TikTok : Most of the material on TikTok is short videos. When you share a link, the thumbnail from the movie can be used as the image.
Tips for Creating Shareable Images for Social Media
High-Quality Visuals : Use photos and images with a high resolution that are clear and look good. Images that are pixelated or fuzzy can be off-putting.
Consistency : Make sure all of your social media posts have the same look. Keep the same fonts, colours, and styles all the way through.
Relevance : Make sure the picture matches the information you are giving. This kind of preview should give people an idea of what they'll find if they click on the link.
Image Size : Make sure to use the right sizes for each site to make sure that your photos look good everywhere. When pictures are too big, it takes longer to feed a page to load.
Eye-Catching Thumbnails : When you put movies online, you should make sure the thumbnails are interesting. Users usually look at these, so it's important for them to be interesting.
Text Overlay : Even if people don't read the extra text, the pictures can help them understand what's going on.
Branding : Putting your brand's logo or name in the picture in a subtle way will help people remember who you are and where they've seen your work before.
A/B Testing : Use split-testing to find out which of two versions of a picture or set of text works better with your target group. With stats, you can see how well each post is doing.
Mobile Optimization : Keep in mind that a large number of people use social media on their phones, and make sure your information is set up for that. Make sure that your images load fast and look good on mobile devices.
Engaging Thumbnails : Make images for your shared articles or blog posts that are unique, catchy, and true to the content. This will encourage people to click through.

eBay image size requirements
eBay has certain image size requirements to ensure that product images are clear and visually appealing for potential buyers. As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the image size requirements for eBay listings were as follows:
Minimum image size: The smallest recommended image size is 500 pixels on the longest side. However, eBay recommends using larger images for better visibility and clarity.
Maximum image size: The maximum image size allowed is 12 megapixels, or 4000 pixels on the longest side. If your images exceed this size, eBay will automatically resize them.
Image file format: eBay supports commonly used image file formats such as JPEG, PNG, and GIF.
Image quality: It is important to use high-quality images that accurately represent your product. Images should be in focus, well-lit, and properly cropped.
Image background: eBay recommends using a white or neutral background for product images to provide a clean and professional look. Avoid using distracting or cluttered backgrounds that may take away attention from the product.
Please note that eBay may have updated their image size requirements since my knowledge cutoff. I recommend referring to eBay's official seller resources or guidelines for the most up-to-date information on image requirements.

COMMUNICATING IN COLOUR pt3
research
my main part of this project I wanted to explore was venturing away from illustration and trying something im less comfortable with. I wanted to focus on trying something different by editing the imagesive already taken of the place.
I was in between choosing Greece, specifically Crete as its one of my favourite places and as it fits the brief it's somewhere I would want to live. as well as this I have many unique photos of the place
however my other choice was camber sands which is a place I partly already live in, so I have many existing photos.

Also, a google trick not really for researching but good to know anyways:
Using "imagesize:[width]x[height]" in google images will get you all the images of that exact resolution. Very fun trick to know.
Since “research” now means, essentially, “Google it,” here’s a little direction to make the most out of it.

By forgetting to reduce the file size of your images, you can have unnecessarily large files taking up your storage space. Most times, optimizing your images has almost zero effect on their visual quality, but all of the effect on your computer storage and website speed.

Eli Lilly to acquire obesity drug maker Versanis for $1.9 billion
Eli Lilly and Company, Pharmaceutical company headquarters in Alcobendas, Madrid, Spain.Cristina Arias | Cover | Getty ImagesEli Lilly on Friday said it will acquire Versanis, a privately held obesity drug maker, for up to $1.93 billion to bulk up the pharmaceutical giant's weight loss treatment portfolio. Eli Lilly agreed to pay Versanis shareholders in cash, which will consist of an upfront payment and potentially subsequent payments if Versanis achieves certain "development and sales milestones."The Oakland, California-based Versanis, which was founded in 2021 by biotech investment firm Aditum Bio, has one experimental drug for obesity and potentially other conditions. The deal is Eli Lilly's latest attempt to capitalize on the weight loss industry gold rush, which began last year after Novo Nordisk's blockbuster injections Wegovy and Ozempic boomed in popularity. An estimated 40% of U.S. adults are obese. Analysts project that the global weight loss drug market could be worth $100 billion by around 2030. Versanis's drug, bimagreumab, binds directly to certain cells in the body to reduce fat mass. The company is studying bimagreumab in a phase two trial in adults who are overweight or obese, and in another trial that compares the treatment with Novo Nordisk's Wegovy and Ozempic.Bimagreumab works differently from Novo Nordisk's drugs and similar treatments from Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly. Those drugs, known as GLP-1 agonists, mimic hormones produced in the gut called incretins to suppress a person's appetite. But Versanis said combining bimagreumab with those incretin-based therapies could potentially lead to better outcomes for people living with obesity and cardiometabolic conditions, which includes diabetes, kidney disease and disorders affecting the heart. Eli Lilly is working on several obesity treatments. The company's once-weekly experimental injection, retatrutide, helped overweight or obese patients lose up to 24% of their weight after 48 weeks. That surpasses the weight reduction caused by other obesity drugs.Eli Lilly's experimental obesity pill, orforglipron, also helpd overweight or obese patients lose up to 14.7% of their body weight after 36 weeks. The company is also pushing to approve its type 2 diabetes treatment, Mounjaro, for obesity.
