Do you have any tips for people making a comic on Firealpaca?

sho thang? i mean heres a step-by-step that i do anyways. Under the cut cause this got long/imageheavy

first things first, page dimensions. This is where you decide if you want to print it or just leave it for the web. for ILULATTE i used these settings here:

should look like this above; those blue lines in the center is where the panels end, and the second set near the page border is the bleed (for printing purposes. these can all be adjusted.) you can also just make a randomly sized canvas and adjust these settings in the menu, you do you. i do Recovery at 1200x1600px at ~600dpi and leave the usual settings as what it comes with. if you save at high resolution and leave it to the internet, the internet will print it and probably distribute it and also not share the royalties so i mean; dont post the print quality if you care. (note: the bigger the canvas the higher possibility of lag when working so keep that in mind for comps with less RAM)

now; scribble your roughdraft into the center of the blue lines! all my brush settings down there are accurate to this page.

then; add your panel lines on a new layer above the roughdraft.

you can edit them however you want. depends on what you think looks good for the page (for this i have it at 3 mm for both kerning and leading) it pops up once you select it but you can also decide to change it up at the top when you have the little x-acto knife lookin tool selected. i dont know terminology sorry. 

ok now you just do the lineart and coloring. you can do that all within the panel layer and it wont escape the panels you set but i like not being constrained to one layer so i mean you do you. you can draw over the panels by just rearranging them and such this way. speechbubbles i just use either the pen tool set at ellipse or as the shape tool set at ellipse. or just draw it out. w/e.

honestly most of this is just up to the artist comic-wise. you can draw out your panels with the pen tool set to rectangles if you really wanted. FA is as simple as comics get tbh.

I will admit, I like split pets!

Or, I like some of them.  Some of the are well done--despite the rather opposing colors they aren't painful to look at and they just look pretty nice!  In some cases they got a bit creative with splitting the colors or reversing the split colors somewhere, like in eye colors.

Some look nice but could've been better--like the Acara probably would've looked better if the paws and ears weren't the usual pink and the Zafara's muzzle also could've been colored a bit differently.  The Chomby's back spike/scales shouldn't still be green gah.

and some just. . .could've been done better.  Maybe the colors look too flat(Cybunny) or they're off-center(a couple of them but the Aisha especially) or something.  The Chia didn't need its hair reversed, imo.  The shoes/feet could've been a better choice if they wanted to reverse part of it.

and some(or one) are. . .thetonu.  ffs the tonu is just DONE ALL WRONG.  Tonus' manes, tailfloofs, and nosehorns are different shades from their skin/base color--it looks like someone sent in the wrong file.  Also the colors are off--it's supposed to be orange and purple not orange and blue, and just--who did this an thought it looked alright DID THEY NOT LOOK AT THE OTHER SPLIT PETS FIRST??

but uh yeah

i don't mind split pets--i'm actually considering a split grundo since Iokem's a lab pet with a bit of a goal but she zapped split grundo and I rather like it.  '3'  this has been a post

REMINDER that jack can and WILL SNAP at a moment's notice . he doesn't care who you are , really . and he , as you could guess , doesn't feel any real shame towards that idea . he's done it many times before , and he will do it again . he is forcing hlökk to work alongside him against her will . and her strangles her for it , weakening her & belittling her into doing what he wants her to do : to bestow her power unto him , a process which a valkyrie offers up their divine soul unto a mortal to fuse them together . doing so forms a divine weapon capable of killing gods .

it's also why ... i find their later scenes ... kind of disturbing ? not only did jack strangle hlökk when she refused to work alongside him , HE SNUCK INTO HER ROOM BEFOREHAND & WAITED . so it was obviously premeditated on his behalf . he planned this out like a sick bastard .

i really don't like that the canonical material is making their relationship slightly more friendly . maybe it's JUST ME personally , but it really creeps me out . i think hlökk might be experiecing some stockholm syndrome . jack is abusing her . and i am not comfortable portraying it , really , as anything but abuse . she isn't his daughter figure . they are not friends . he only wants to use her powers to help him kill & toy with other people . i do not trust jack , and think again , he is using his supposed friendliness as a ploy .
