the thing about writing nancy drew fanfic is that half the npcs just do not talk like normal people. no conversations follow any kind of logical thread its just nancy going "why do you have a sword in your bag" and "why is your mother dead" before they go "FINE if you INSIST i'll tell you my entire life story right now" and none of them ever interact with each other outside of cut scenes. anyways i gotta figure out how to make these people sound normal
