Feeling sad and nostalgic and all that. 💔 The nauseating thought that I may never find my canonmates, or if I do that they may not want to stick around, suddenly struck me while listening to the OST again. I've become a different person in this life, incredibly different. There are so many mistakes I made that I can't go back and correct, all I can do is move forward with the wisdom my past has given me. It's bittersweet.

Years ago I was listening to a guided hypnosis track that instructed its listeners to imagine themselves in a room with all the people they'd ever known. When I did, I pictured a room that was entirely grey, from the floor to the ceiling, with the only piece of furniture being a grandfather clock at the other end. There was a sea of people around me but I couldn't parse any details about them, they were just silhouettes, and the only thing in the whole room with enough detail for me to see clearly was that clock. The unrelenting march of time as it stands high above me, and a crowd of people I'm trying so desperately to see in focus but can't, is the perfect depiction of the way I feel now.

Opposites attract is the definition of your relationship. He´s the sun, you´re the moon. The perfect duo, is what people say. And it´s true. You complement each other so well, it creates a perfect balance in your relationship. The dynamic is a lot like Beast boy and Raven. He´s always bounding with energy whereas you´re reserved and on the chill side of things.

When Denki first laid eyes on you, he was a little intimidated if he was being honest. He couldn´t help it! You looked so scary and eerie he thought you were gonna gauge his eyes out or something. That all changed when you saved him during the U.S.J incident. It all happened so quick, a flash of moments that became a blur. But the moment that was engraved in his memories was your worried face asking if he was okay. Did he fall in love instantly? Maybe.

His perception of you definitely did a 180 since then. And honestly, he felt a little guilty for assuming you were mean in the first place. Nevertheless, he opened up later on to the idea of getting to know you. It started off when he attempted to bake a thank you cake for saving him. Turns out, you don´t like sweet things. But don´t fret! Denki does not lose his determination. So instead, he arranged a bouquet of flowers. You were allergic to one of them. Now he was starting to grow frustrated. Attempt after attempt slowly beated down his hopes of doing something nice for you (you appreciated everything even if Denki deemed it unsuitable, he needed perfection). At last, luck took pity on him and presented the perfect opportunity. He caught onto a snippet of a conversation you were having with Jirou. You were rambling about a book you had been saving up for. That´s it! He´ll get you the book.

"Denki? Are you okay?"

You ask a frenzied looking Denki who knocked on your door at 11PM.

"I have it" He pants with his hands on his knees. You raise an eyebrow in confusion. "Have what?"

A shaky hand holds up a brand new copy of the book you had been eyeing for a while. "The book you wanted" He wheezes. Your eyebrows shoot up in surprise. Just to what lengths did Denki go to buy the book and appear at your door looking like he ran a marathon?Your silence must have been long because he stood back him, a nervous smile on his lips as he pushes the book into your hand.

"I-wow, thank you" You managed to sputter at last. But before you could manage another word, he was already rushing down the hallway, a furious blush on his cheeks.

Ever since then he´s attached to your hip. He saw you the next day reading the book (that he gifted which was no small matter in his eyes), and the soft smile you sent his way when you made eye contact was enough to send him to heaven and above.

He stuck to your side like glue, constantly asking questions about the things you like and whatnot. And trust me when I say he became whipped real quick. The heart eyes were obvious, he was not fooling anyone. Going back to the whole Beast Boy and Raven dynamic, Denki is a very flirty guy. And the fact that he likes you boosts that to a million. He´s always using some cheesy pick up line or trying to do boyfriend things. He makes his crush on you obvious and he has no shame in it. And even though you act like you hate it, you both know you don´t. After all, if you hated it, you would´ve pushed him away long ago.

At this point, everyone was counting down the days until you finally got together. When it finally happened everyone was ecsatic because yay! no more annoying crushing Denki. But they soon regretted it because Denki with a partner is a million times more annoying.

He´s always showing you off with a proud giddy smile. Because you´re his. His partner and no one elses. Loves loves loves kissing you and hugging you. He´s a very physically affectionate person. Basically a golden retriever and you´re the black cat. He always has that lovesick puppy eyed look, like a puppy sitting by their owners feet, waiting to be acknowledged. That´s how he is with you, and when you do give him attention, he´s over the moon. He´s very vocal about his love for you and could spend hours listing off all the things he likes about you. The squad can not take it any longer.

He worships the ground you walk on you´re goddess, he´s your biggest supporter. So trust when I say he does not take any slander directed towards you. He zaps people who look at you the wrong way.

Also! Last but not least, having a goth partner means his eyes open up to the whole goth culture. Ever since he became friends with you he took an interest in your clothing style, the music you listen to, the make up style. Basically anything, and he definitely binge read anything having to do with goth culture just so he´d look cool and all knowimg when you talk to him. You ended up having to teach him yourself but you appreciated the effort either way.

All in all, Denki is the best boyfriend. End of speech.

Ive been thinking about this, am I the only one whos kinda bothered when people say that ACOTAR was medieval aesthically while ACOMAF and onward are regency era/elizabethan/victorian/some other english time period? Like, again, im no history expert and this is all primarily vibes based, but the way I see it, the world of ACOTAR was already very aesthetically victorian, both the human and the fae part of it. Like, when Feyre leaves shes given this impractical dress with thin gloves and silly small hat, I dont know if she was wearing a corset which is like The thing that people think of when they think of that time period, but regardless, the vibes were all there, same goes for her sisters and their new mansion. And then in the fae world its like, Tamlin is living in a manor house, thats not exactly what I think of when I think of medieval times yknow. Honestly, I think when people say that ACOTAR felt more medieval while ACOMAF feels victorian, what theyre actually trying to express is the loss of whimsy between books, but that doesnt really have anything to do with the time-period its vaguely set in. The way I see it, Feyre was experiencing the victorian countryside lifestyle with tamlin and now that shes living with rhys shes experiencing the victorian city lifestyle, like the spring court and the night court are really not that different imo, except the way the spring court does the tithe is oddly medieval but I know that doylistically thats just to make Tamlin look backwards and archaic in comparison to Rhysand so I dont really feel like engaging with that on a deeper in-uinverse level if Im being honest

I will say that the men's clothes in both the SC and the NC do seem very medieval, but its like, 'commoner' medieval. Like, theyre just wearing normal ass pants that look like modern pants and then a shirt and then a garment thats kinda like a vest but it has a diffrent name, I dont remember what it is in english but in german its called Tunika. I bet they dont even wear stockings under their stupid modern pants! And its so annoying because its like, bro theyre monarchs, the monarchy is all about keeping up appearances and displaying their wealth whenever they can and stupid symbolism, thats why court clothing has historically slayed so hard, and here come these bozos, again, probably not even wearing stockings to emphasise their supple calves (although thats admittedly more 17th or 18th century iirc). And for Tamlin it atleast makes sense for his character, but we're told that Rhysand ascended to the throne when he was pretty young and that he actually wanted that unlike Tamlin, thats one of the reasons why hes sooooo much better supposedly, so how come he dresses like Tamlins slightly more goth cousin??

And what kills me even more is that I think actual 19th century european court clothes would suit Rhysand so well, like you know that style of suit with the shoulder pads with those weird little dangly strings, it has a kinda militaristic vibe and its often worn with a sash and a bunch of medals? Cmon, Rhys would absolutely slay that and it would fit his personality too. whatever, does he atleast wear something cool for Starfall? or for when he goes to reanact Feyre's sexual assault in the court of nightmares? Or is he just wearing that one fucking tunic thats just black but it has silverthreads worked into the fabric for thise scenes?? whatever, its midnight I gotta stop rambling about this shit and go to bed good nightttt

i think mental illness is not talked about nearly enough in this niche subset of the undertale community.

and i mean about a few folks! specifically rurik, goth, palette, and lotus.

rurik first cos hes my babygirl 💙 rurik has been confirmed to have ptsd. thats a life altering disorder. one cannot just take some pills and be rid of it like you can with some ear infection.

ptsd is a serious disease, and i think instead of it being swept under the rug, it should become a forefront of his character. i want to see him recover. genuinely recover and not just some "he just got over it " bs ykno? i want to know how it makes him feel, i want to see the decisions he makes because of the disorder. how does this illness change him as a person. we do not see much of that regarding his character.

lotus next bc hes my second babygirl 😋. i cant speak on his "cannon" disorder partly because nekophy rarely talked about him as a character (often resulting in folks having to interpret him on their own, and often being... wrong. looking at all the fellpoth folks from the years of 2017 to 2019) and partly becaue she deleted her original account with 95% of her lotus asks. but what i can dig up is he was abused growing up by f!geno and f!reaper. i can dig up that canonically him and rurik had a rough relationship that often ended in physical violence from both parties.

how does this change him as a person? he is such a bland character if im honest. we were given a character ref and told to do what we gotta do. i want to see him fleshed out (although that will probably never happen!) i want to see what illnesses or disorders he has obtained throughout his life, wether it be from childhood or abusive relationships. how does this affect him as a person and how does this affect his relationships with people? that is a question i think we will never know unless you create your own headcannon for it.

goth next cos hes chillin... goth has always been seen as a shy, awkward, man-child who cant do much for himself. i think thats wrong and i dont mind saying that because i personally cannot stand his creator lolol. goth has so much... potential. he is the son of the god of death, he is no baby that needs his hand held throughout life.

now there is one thing i do like about his original character, and that is the effect he has on relationships. in both a poth and duelette universe, he is smitten and doesnt quite know what to do with himself around the people he has crushes on. i can work with that. i suspect he has some sort of personality disorder just from being in this part of the fandom for so long yknow? this is perhaps getting into headcannon territory which i will get into later (maybe)

palette my beloved, he was the first sans i ever laid my little 9 year old eyes on.... he is much more fleshed out as a character than goth or lotus for SURE. however i suspect that there is one thing that is merely. glossed over. and another folk has talked about it.

he's so autistic dude. not a doubt in my mind. i dont even need to put this in the headcannon section because its so hinted at (even if thats not what the creator was aiming towards)

his emotions, him being so "oblivious", just the way he carries himself... autism dude. and i crave it !! i want it !! i want to see this fully implemented into his character and his personality and his relationships. i want to see how this affects him and the others around him. how does due respond to it? what about goth? hell, even rurik? i crave this. i want more

i would talk about dante and due, but im 99% sure dante has already been fully fleshed out (psychopathy and whatnot) and im honestly.. not sure about due. they're great characters and all but my autism laser pointer is directly on the four i just spoke about (sorry pookies i love yall)

I hated reading this (i loved reading this). i kinda got spoiled before i bought the book with an analysis post, had to literally put my phone down and think about what id just read. i think this page really puts bill and ford's relationship into perspective. ford's a person and bill's a multidimensional semi-god creature, bill will do and say anything in his power to get ford to do what he wants. this relationship cannot even begin to resemble normal. and also the forgetting your own name part horrified me, thats some good horror right there.. love it when books make me have a visceral reaction to tiny words on paper

I don't think I have anything extra to add I agree completely. I just love how much of a threat it shows Bill as. I think it works especially well because most of the book has been Silly Bill Shenanigans, you kinda forget what he's capable of. Brilliant stuff. i hated it.

call transcript from the police - OH the LORE and CHARACTER ANALYSIS FOOD RIGHT HERE. i could talk for hours about how bill straight up sucks at relationships and he's SO unwilling to admit he was upset about falling out with ford that he's lying to himself MULTIPLE TIMES OVER AND OVER and how a lack of genuine connection with people is eating him up - but if i talked about all that this post would spiral into insanity real quick. Firstly, i want to describe my vibe. I’m short, a little over 5ft, with dark skin and short locs. Though my build may be petite, im still very muscular. Thunder thighs save lives you know?? I have quite a few piercings (pairs on each ear, a stretched septum, and a snakebite) and i wear clothes similar to whimsigoth and victorian goth styles. Im pretty spiritual and feel emotions for everything, as everything matters to me. Im a deep thinker and sometimes have to be alone to sort my thoughts and write them down. I do tarot readings all the time and look to the moon for guidance. I’m also very into the arts. Painting, sketching, music, filmmaking, fashion. I enjoy these things and even draw and make music myself sometimes. My favorite genres of music are within edm, r&b, and punk. I listen to music almost everyday. the first character we're going to be talking is antoine villeneuve :) he/him, about 32 years old. basically he was a nobleman, raised to be the perfect gentleman–the perfect son, then his parents died when he was around 18 and he was forced to find an identity outside of that which hes having trouble doing. hes like overly formal to the point where it loops right back around to socially awkward.

next up is vixen valentine! any pronouns, anywhere from 12 to older than time itself.(this is a joke. in actuality they're anywhere from mid 20s to mid 30s probably) local openly genderfluid and polyamorous goth, i wrote her to force antoine to have friends if im being quite honest, everyone either loves him or hates them, xe refuses to go to therapy. lives in a constant state of moral crisis over wanting to fuck antoine. most iconic and hilarious character ive ever written.

OKEY, LOOK, this hc main hinges on two factors which made me grab him as my new trans blorbo:

-Basically his expunged file: 0 knowledge about his past, like 0, nada, he just sprouted from the ground with gun in hand and ready to kill. I've seen some trans guys who rather just erase their previous "life" because it's too painful or because they want to go stealth from now on. Either way is valid.

okay, lets start off with pdh (im ignoring the aarmau in pdh because i refuse to accept that shit happened. that was a collective fandom fever dream).

What did he do other then throw guy out window that one time in episode 1? Yeah, he was kinda rude (especially to Aphmau), he got detention a lot, basic delinquent kid stuff.. but so did Gene, Zenix, and Sasha? Meanwhile, Laurence and Garroth quite clearly stalked Aphmau (discussion for another day), Gene did so much mean shit (literally discord mod. called aphmau kitty or smth istg), Katleyn was just a dick, and Kawaii~Chan threw potions at people who disagreed with her in any way.

I’d say him and Zane are on similar playing fields of “we’re treated like villains here even though we aren’t”. AND YES, I SAY ZANE IS IN THE SAME BOAT. He’s a discussion for another day, but I will just say this: pdh Zane was literally just a dick. Katelyn and him were both just dicks, but in different ways. Katelyn feels different because she’s violent, she was mean to Travis, and she felt more like a bully. Zane felt like he was just sort of. Rude. Like a coworker who ignores you or writes passive aggressive sticky-notes. Again, topic for another day.

Now, fcu. First off, who the actual fuck remembers what happens here?? I remember briefly that like. Aaron had a bunch of simps, there was some goth werewolf, and Aphmau got harassed but like. Literally what was this series.

Anyways, from what I do remember: Aaron was basically going through emotional abuse at home, he was isolated from his peers, he had people stalking him, and the person he actually was friends with was stalked and harassed, leading him to be anxious talking to her.

I can’t go into as much detail for fcu, but it sounds like Aaron went through a really rough time during this. I feel really, really bad for him. He didn’t even do much wrong here.

Since mys is Long, I’ll do short summaries for each.

Season 1: Actually a really chill guy. He respected boundaries the most out of everyone I’d say, and his biggest “fault” was that he looked sort of intimidating.

Season 2: He was certainly teetering the line of intimidating and threatening, but he was still pretty chill. He was able to put up with the shit-show that is the rest of the cast, but I do think some moments he had were a bit more.. overly rude. Still, he’s better then pdh Gene.

Season 3: imma be totally honest i dont remember half the shit that went on here. I feel like he was pretty solid here. He had a good reason for wanting to progress his relationship the way he did (i dont wanna spoil anything for anyone), and I honestly give him props for not being a total dick to Zane, even though Zane so deserved it.

Season 4: Ougghhhhhdfsgsgs….. Season 4… While saying this in the least, absolute least spoiler way I can: Aaron took the situation, and acted appropriately to a broad extent. Authorities exist in this universe. So I’m cautious as to why authorities weren’t contacted. Magic is reversible. Getting the authorities involved could leave plenty of room for Lucinda, or any other witch to find the cure or something. I feel like he reacted good until he uh. Fight scene with the one in the blue dress (WHAT WAS THAT OUTFIT BTW?). He did a bit too much iffy things for me to put him at the top of the moral scale though.

Season 5: Pure fluff. Man was just pure fluff here. Pretty chill, I feel like he was treated more of a “frequently recurring side character” then a main character. His personality was boiled down to “generic good boyfriend!”. He had his cute moments, yeah. He seemed to be a little bit hot-headed, quick-tempered, whatever you wanna call it. I’d say the worst thing he did was uh. Garroth. (i swear he doesnt fuck garroth you guys)

Season 6: Okay folks listen here!! DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO NOT SEE SPOILERS FOR THIS SEASON. I LITERALLY CAN’T NOT SPOIL SOMETHING. Okay so anyways. Aaron murdered. A lot of people. He murdered one of his friends. Who was in his support group! Yes, he doesn’t remember it and yes, it wasn’t fully in his will. But he still MURDERED PEOPLE!!! THOSE GUYS ARE DEAD! NOT ALIVE, NO MORE AIR!! I don’t remember a lot of season 6 either, but sTILL!! HE KILLED PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Anyways, in conclusion: If I were making a tier-list of these characters from morally best to morally worst, Aaron would be right above the middle. I can’t put him at second or first best, and I can’t confidently say that he’s in the middle because he’s too good for that (middle is most of the forgotten PDH guys and also Travis).

hello!! i was delighted by this ask when i woke up and now that im home with my keyboard i am excited to answer!

i have been waiting for someone to ask asdfghjkl so elizabeth is my girlfriends oc, affectionately called liz. we started shipping her and dante way back in like high school. she's the girl dante is trying to call in my fic a series of mild prophecies !

also im going to refer to this thing called swan song a lot which, for anyone unaware, is my unfinished verat prequel fan fic which is the source for most of my reboot fanon. i have some snippets of it on ao3, all things that either i cleaned up for swan song or fit into swan songs like extended universe

as it is now in at least swan song canon, she's dantes kinda sorta ex-girlfriend. they've recently broken up, i think because dante life can just be...A Lot and he was struggling to hold together his side of the relationship. she was hoping he'd pull things together a bit and they could work this out.

but onto like more a quick little rundown on who she is as a person rather then her role in swan song canon. liz is a bit of a horror goth (i have no idea how else to describe her?) who loves slashers. she's a bit of a romantic with a messy dating history. she is also very neat. at the point where they meet in swan song canon, dante's recently moved to the trailer and cut off like most people from his life. i think this closeness enabled him to be honest about the whole 'so i see secret demons and fight them' thing and liz for some reason believed him. also her favorite slasher series is chucky. she really loves chucky.

i like to imagine post canon they get back together. which is very funny to me because like dante and kat in swan song canon sort of switch places (dante starts fresh off a break up and ends up back in his relationship where as kat starts off in a relationship she finds very secure only to end up in the most chaotic break up ever and having a horrible time with it)

but anyway that's a very quick rundown of liz. i plan on trying to finish more fics featuring her. one is a little pier date, one is dantes half of the phone call from a series of mild prophecies, and another is the morning after their first hook up because this was meant to be a one night stand liz being very neat is plot relevant to their relationship asdfghjkl

dante and kat tattoos

i do have ideas for this!! every day i wish they both had tattoos genuinely. if it were up to me both dantes would have a ton like most of his concept arts and kat would have more also.

that said i've never quite come up with set designs for dante. i like the idea of cherubs somewhere. something cheeky maybe in the crotch area also because he's so that guy. i don't see him as the sort to get color tattoos either so it's probably a lot of black and white. im biased and a nirvana girlie but i tend to associate devil may cry in general heavily with grunge (i wrote an entire fic about that so like...Not A Shocking Statement) but i'd probably give him a little reference to that. i feel like if he got tattoos also he'd be very prone to just like getting things he thought looked cool or he was dared into, i don't think he finds the concept of adorning his body like that particularly sacred so there's definitely some odd balls in there either from like flash designs or something he thought was funny at the time. there's some fun ones in the concept art to like there's an early concept art where he's got an angel on his neck and cut lines one sees on plastic bags you need to cut open, an unfished tic tac toe board, a praying cherubic angel, that sort of thing. also i'd add some more baroque references to him because it'd be fun.

kat, however, i used to have like a whole plan for her and tattoos. like i was going to draw a chart and everything asdfghjk. i no longer have this attempt at a tattoo map for her and have since forgotten a lot of them.ones i do recall though is definitely a lot of botanical stuff like flowers and fungi, definitely some sun and moon imagery in there, perhaps some tarot designs i like the idea of a couple of those in there, perhaps a judith like maybe not artmesia's judith as idk if it'd tattoo well but there's some other judiths over history that might (klimt's comes to mind as more tattooable). a moth to there has to be like at least one moth. two i'm also very certain on that i really like: a kat rper on here (i forget which at this point) headcanoned her having an eye on the back of her neck and i LOVED that so that's come into my canon and i've also always liked the idea of kat getting matching tattoos around the nipples. i could see her also maybe getting a quote or two. she'd definitely put a lot more thought into it then dante. i have a private pinterest board from years ago when i was trying to do kat's tattoo map and gathered a collection of images from it to try and show the General Vibe i get for kat tattoos:

kat not having more tattoos was always odd to me because most tattoo artists will not tattoo your face unless you have other tattoos already. and like we don't know that her star tattoo is a tattoo exactly, she might just draw it on her forehead everyday but i'm pretty sure it's a tattoo so like that would imply she should have more and i guess the stuff on her fingers could be tattoos but i've always preferred the fanon idea that those designs are done with henna. which like maybe she just had an irresponsible tattoo artist but that also seems out of character for her asdfghjkl

all in all though i guess kat tattoos would mirror some of the henna designs i typically draw for her

djkfskjdfjsd im so glad you like them omg.... to be honest there's not much more to say about them other than what was in their intro posts as they're both still kinda new lol and i tend to develop my ocs over long periods of time with a lot of back and forth BUT i will provide thee with some vague musings i've come up with

although he certainly doesn't act like it, kassandros is actually one of the oldest vampires currently active-- he was born in athens during the 5th century bce and while he doesn't know exactly who sired him, it's widely suspected he was made by a woman only known as the original, or the first vampire in ancient history. in his mortal life, he was born a poor weaver's son but became revered for his beauty and made a name for himself as a model and muse, so much so that he'll happily point out at every. fucking. museum which pieces he's technically in.

as a person, he is deeply vain and equally oblivious, he needs to be the center of attention and will cause problems on purpose if he's not. he'll drink your victims, he'll leave bodies on the lawn, and if he gets blood all over your prized persian rug? no he didn't and you can't prove he did. every clan he's stayed with hates him and doesn't want him back, so he's mostly taken to living on his own, but he's convinced himself its a personal choice and not because he's intolerable.

although the age of renaissance painters and poets is mostly gone, he's found a new outlet for feeding off the attention of creatives and creative strangers: becoming an internet micro-celebrity. as far as anyone's concerned, the whole vampire thing is just a silly gimmick.

kassie's wiped out every vampire slayer that's come after him, so much so that the greater slayer community considers him untouchable... a sort of trophy kill no one's been brazen enough to go after. until now.

pauline really only stumbled on the slayer life by accident. before she was staking the undead, she spent her days taking on way more college classes than a normal person should and being the hot goth cashier at a local supermarket. the burn across her face? cooking oil accident-- she's not the best chef.

having come from a long line of successful accountants and hardware store owners, pauline's more rebellious nature meant she had little interest in the mundane life of someone who tells you which wrench to buy for what, or how to manage your savings-- she wanted meaning, she wanted purpose, and she found that in art. after graduating high school, she went off to art school with the intent to study art history on the side but didn't make it far before her actual destiny found her.

although vampire killing was something she didn't think would become her whole life, after she accidentally killed one when he tried to follow her home (it's not her fault he fell onto a picket fence and turned to dust), they just kept popping up around her. what started as a nuisance quickly became some kind of... calling. she thinks, anyway.

the hunter community is small, and she made her way up the ladder fast, becoming something of a mercenary for those with a genuine bloodsucker problem. now, she's the best of the best, a modern day van helsing.

as a person, pauline is actually deeply introverted and more than a little awkward-- she has a handful of fronts she puts on, little masks she's invented to get through the day (and night). being an infamous slayer helps take the edge off, but when she's not in her safe little cocoon of weirdos, that bravado crumbles. if her social avoidance comes across as mysterious, in her mind, that's better than people knowing its really just because other human beings terrify her. luckily, this works in her favor-- after all, it's hard to make connections when not everyone understands the intricacies of hunting the undead.

pauline started hunting kassandros not because she felt she had anything to prove, but rather it felt like something she was supposed to do, another piece in this weird destiny thing she's gotten herself wrapped up in. that and, if she has to see one more damn fancam of him, she's going to throw up.

if only he wasn't so damn slippery.

"Oh, I didn't know he was invited."

All Patton had done was walk in the door. He hadn't even said hi, or hugged Roman yet, he just walked in the door, and Janus was already on his back for just existing in his presence.

It was going to be a long night.

"Yes? He's my best friend, you know!" Roman defended as he brought Patton to sit on the couch with him and Logan.

"Wow, rude." Logan said.

Roman made a series of offended noises. "You're my boyfriend! So obviously Patton is my best friend!"

As the two quickly dissolved into playful banter, Patton stood to go put his overnight bag in Roman's room, hearing Janus whisper something to Remus and Virgil as he walked by.

Just ignore it, he thought, not really in the mood to argue today. Especially not after what Patton had dubbed ‘The Double Closet Incident’.

It was disastrous. Not only did Patton get locked in a closet with Janus, who has claustrophobia, he discovered that he may have a thing for men. Who knew?

Roman. Roman probably knew, especially after he had adopted Patton into their little friend group. And if being gay was a contest, Roman would be the judge.

But...it was normal to feel that way, right? It wasn't weird to feel embarrassed when someone got up in your personal space, was it? It wasn't abnormal to blush when someone said kind words to you, or odd to imagine yourself in different scenarios with someone you saw on a daily basis and they were-

Wait, what was he doing again?

Patton sighed as he set down his bag by Roman's bed. Those were thoughts for another day. He was supposed to be having fun at his best friend's sleepover, after all!

Patton put on a happy face and went back to the living room to join the others, finding that Roman and Remus were wrestling over something, Logan and Janus were debating, and Virgil was scrolling on his phone. Yep, it was going to be a long night.

After breaking up Roman and Remus' tussle, watching a couple of movies, and other various shenanigans, Remus decided to gather everyone up in his room to play truth or dare.

If Patton learned anything from watching the others' turns, it was to always choose truth when Remus picks you.

"Double D, Truth or Dare?" Remus asked excitedly, even though he already knew what Janus would say.

"Dare."

Remus grinned like a shark. "I dare you and Patton to stay in my closet for one hour together."

Both Janus and Patton went pale.

"I...lied. I meant truth." Janus quickly said, hoping that Remus would let up.

"Nope! Too late! Now, you and Patton have to get in there, have hate sex or something, and come out in an hour!"

"Uh- we can't!" Patton exclaimed suddenly, and then all eyes were on him.

"What, are you afraid of the dark or something?" Remus teased.

"Um- no- well, kinda- but no. I- uh- have claustrophobia."

Janus looked shocked, to say the least. Thankfully, everyone was still looking at Patton.

"Yeah, small spaces are absolute torture to be in, and I would prefer it if none of us did stuff that involves small spaces, because then I'll worry about them!" Patton rambled quickly, trying to get all attention on him.

Remus rolled his eyes. "Ugh, fine. But you guys still need to do something together."

Patton blushed a bit, and Janus sighed, looking relieved.

Eventually, Remus gave up, and just dared Janus to eat shaving cream.

The rest of the night went smoother, and Patton ended up telling a lot of weird secrets, but not very important ones.

Eventually, everyone was asleep in either Roman's room, or Remus' room. Everyone except Patton, who couldn't get his brain to turn off.

Patton reluctantly got out of his sleeping bag, and made his way to the front door, maybe some fresh air would clear his mind.

Turns out, he wasn't the only one who had that idea, because as he stepped outside, he found the one and only Janus on the porch, smoking a cigarette.

Before Patton could turn back around, Janus saw him, and nodded his head in acknowledgment. Well, no going back now.

Patton silently sat down in the wooden rocking chair next to where Janus was standing, staring off into space a little before speaking up.

"You-you know that smoking is bad for you, right?"

Janus' lips curled up in a small smile as he chuckled. "I'm aware. Don't worry your pretty head, I only do it when I'm stressed."

Patton decided to ignore the way being called pretty by Janus felt and focused on the other part of that statement. "What are you stressed about?"

Janus blew out a puff of smoke, and suddenly Patton was very distracted by his lips.

"You. You're...different than how I thought you'd be." Janus said solemnly, drawing in another breath.

"Is...is that a bad thing?" Patton asked quietly, looking down to the floor.

Janus glanced at Patton with an indecipherable look on his face. "To be honest? I don't know. On one hand, you're actually a decent person."

"Thank you?"

"And on the other," Janus continued. "I've treated you like s**t for no reason other than spite."

"...It's okay-"

"It's not." Janus interrupted.

They sat in silence for awhile, trying to figure out if the other still wanted them here or not.

"Why did you think I was a bad person?" Patton asked quietly.

Janus huffed. "It's complicated."

"I mean...we got all night."

"...true." Janus sighed. "I think it's because ‘nice’ people don't usually want anything to do with me, and when they do, it's usually for the wrong reasons." He explained. "So when you started talking to me...I don't know, you reminded me of all the wrong people."

Patton's heart broke. He reminded Janus of some probably terrible memories, and had probably been hurting him just by being around him! No wonder Janus frowned whenever Patton walked in a room!

"Janus, I'm so so sorry, I never knew-"

"What are you sorry for?"

"I- That I remind you of some terrible people in your life-"

"Patton," Janus rest a hand on Patton's shoulder, making him blush. "You don't have any control over who you remind me of. Please, don't apologize for that."

"Well- then you can't apologize for being reminded of those people either!" Patton argued.

"I didn't say that, I said I was sorry for treating you terribly!"

"Well, then, I guess you're forgiven!" Patton retorted.

Janus looked at him in shock, as if Patton had just said a bunch of profanities, before quickly looking back to stare off into the distance again. His cheeks were red, but Patton convinced himself that he was probably cold out here.

"You're...too forgiving." Janus mumbled softly, as if he was talking to himself.

"I think that's a good thing." Patton replied.

Janus huffed. "...Thank you." He said, looking at Patton with a small smile on his face. "For everything."

Patton blushed. "Y-Yeah. No problem."

Janus looked at him with a disagreeing look on his face, but let it go.

They settled into comfortable silence as Janus threw his cigarette away and Patton almost fell asleep.

The second time Patton had to force his head up, Janus huffed.

"You should probably get to sleep."

As if on cue, Patton yawned. "So should you." He said sleepily, rubbing his eyes.

Janus chuckled. "Fine. I'll go back to bed if you do."

"Okay, fine. You have a deal."

Janus had that stupid, self-satisfied smirk on his face that he usually wore that made Patton feel fuzzy inside.

"Good," He smirked. "See you in the morning."

"Yeah. See ya."

Janus ventured into the house, Patton following a few moments later.

Patton felt like he was getting into dangerous territory with Janus, but instead of feeling concerned, he felt more excited than ever.
