I think this a good time as any to share what I think H0rners big brain been cooking for some time, especially after the Spa fiasco wid Danny ric and allegedly big sponsors having to step in to save Checos seat ((Im skeptical of those reports but they not really the point, Checo bringing Liberty, and rbr, a lot of money from very intense LATAM pockets never been a secret, and it does matter in the cost cap era, its just how things are. Plus replacing Checo not something that keeps Horner up at night believe it or not, and that's where my word vomit comes in)).

I been sitting wid this 1 for some time, but mind u its all speculation on my part and mostly incoherent because my brain is completely fried these days. But stay wid me 😭😭. Adrian Newey leaving-- not just because of how it was announced, the way it was dealt wid internally, the shit he's been saying to press now ((he's tired and needs a break but been shopping around for teams like he's bored on hinge)) -- was , imo, more of a statement of distrust. In the rbr project, but mainly in Horner. He no longer believes Horners ability to succeed, he prolly already knew the rb20 as an evolution of the rb19 had its set of obvious limitations when it came to suspension once the field closed up, he knew they were headed down a difficult type of season, he took a step back, he saw the cracks begin to delve deeper and deeper into nastiness between the Verstappen camp and Horner, he saw Horner refuse to take accountability while Max very pointedly and UNLIKE all the other red bull drivers refused to express his unconditional support for Horner. Quite the opposite, Verstappen began making threats. Centering the importance of the car ((!!!)) and a stable environment, not Horners innocence or lack thereof. He doesn't care about that, as long as hes got the people and the car to work wid. Keep that in mind.

But back to the Newey divorce . Adrians one of the most important figures in motorsport period, he knew he had better options, perhaps some financial motivations, why not, he said thank you, I don't trust you anymore, goodbye. So here falls a core, original pillar of Milton Keynes, arguably one of the most successful aerodynamicists of all time. 1 of Red Bulls bishop, gone. Still, they rallied behind Wache, they said Adrian hadn't been part of development for some time, their factory remains strong, they can fill in the gaps, rbr is STABLE, sure sure sure.

Imola, Canada, Spain. We all hold hands wid Max and play pretend for a lil bit. Verstappen factor and all that bullshit. But for some reason, Max delivers the same conclusion every post race presser. This car is falling behind. We are starting to struggle. The sim data and the on track data don't correlate. This car is not gonna win constructors. Idk how the fuck its even the WDC. CHECO of course appears to be driving for my cousin's bumper cars themed birthday party so we can all point and laugh and marvel at how a driver known for his experience and who's won races and gotten poles to suddenly drop to fucking p6 in the standings. Surely this is the worst driver of all time. Surely.

Austria. Rbr pit stops, already looking kinda iffy since the beginning of the season, hit a new low. Lando, wid a single good overtake, wins the race, effectively beating Max on track. Max didn't let him. And he came out of it with a points advantage too, because he made a choice regarding his driving and how he wud defend his position. In a better car, that's never a choice he has to make. But the car isn't on par wid Mclaren. Rbr factory development has, quite clearly, stalled. Upgrade packages go backwards.

Hungary. Yeah. Everything is stable and the car was good and Max was beyond delighted of course.

So, that's stable environment gone, competitive car gone, and now off goes Wheatley to fulfill his tp destiny. Somebody , who, once upon a time, was rightly identified as the guy who wud replace Christian Horner due to the severity of the allegations made against him. Yeah, remember when Horner shud have fucking been fired? But Horner stayed, Newey left, and Wheatley left. To disconnect these events is, imo, a lil bit insane. Wid Wheatley gone, that's red bulls bishop n2 fallen. I think its fairly reasonable to assume somebody wid 2 cats in Monaco is straight up not having a good time anymore.

So, where do Checo and Danny ric and that fucking seat come in. They're all part of this dance, but I think in a way that's been fairly misinterpreted. See for a long time now, prolly since he signed Danny ric to do tiktoks, even before Vcarb became a thing, Horner has not been looking for a replacement for Checo. He's been looking for a replacement for Max. Ik, again, this is me letting the voices take over. Lemme say some unhinged shit before u call the cops. Max is an impossible teammate. U cant match Max on pace over an entire season, u cant prioritize a driver over Max when it comes to development, u cant tailor a car to somebody like Checo ((which , because Im so fucking money on this, is what Horner has just claimed he's gonna start doing post Spa)) and not Max, because, simply put, the car will be slower. Max can drive faster cars, he can deliver the poles, he can give rbr a fighting chance, he's been doing that shit, wid more or less success, all season, most of his fucking career actually. Now, who do y'all know who also qualifies very well, likes a pointy car wid a shit ton of oversteer and recently been caught discussing rb20 failings wid Verstappen himself. Danny ric. And Danny ric, like Checo, is very much in the Horner camp side of things. Danny ric, rn, comes wid bonuses of loyalty and trust and maybe a lil chip on his shoulder that Verstappen quite simply does not have, or cares to have because that brother is trying to get his fourth championship, not survive f1. Danny ric comes as a success story for red Bull amidst very trying times for the brand, the silver son who bent the knee and came home to warm hugs and big smiles after nearly getting fucking taken out back in a farm by Zak brown. U put that brother next to Checo or Lawson or whoever u also have the bonus of not having one of the best drivers of all time absolutely refuse to finish behind them, which can be a lil bit annoying if the car is shit too.

Horner is a stingy, extremely egocentric asshole, who prolly shudve been fired a long time ago, and he's not the team principal I thought he was. Horner's strength as a tp came from standing on business for his WDC once the going gets hard. He's doing none of that this season, at least not for Max. He's just a man, and at the end of the day, he's got the pride and insecurity of one, too. If he thought Newey was expendable, well sure u already have a bald man in the team who gives a fuck ((????)), if he thinks Wheatley is expendable, that's pointing towards a more personal type of dutch centric trend, because if he thinks MAX is expendable ... if this 2023 Merc stinking ass fucking season is headed the way I think its headed baby. i do believe, since he interacted with a lot of different people in his football career, that domi is very supportive of good causes... but since in hungary you cannot be "loudly" supportive towards certain things or you'll get singled out by politicians and their deranged followers, he has to be quiet about it, if he wants to keep his image and be liked by people... if he actively showed support, i think hungarian ultras would even want him to give up the captaincy of the NT

I agree with you! Unfortunately, football, not just in Hungary, still has a very long journey to go thorough, when it comes to dealing with bigotry.

You can only imagine when the current government tries everything in its power to force certain 'traditional european christian values' how much hate it generates amongst certain groups. And football can be the nest for that, especially again, how politicizied they tried to (and partially succeesed) make football here.

I'm not sure the captaincy would be stripped away from him. Fortunately there is (are? im not sure about the grammar here, sorry!) a growing number of more open-minded and younger fans, even amongst the ultras, but yeah, a certain group of bald individuals would probably commit serious offenses if he would choose to be more actively supportive of certain issues. It's the sad reality.

Elisabeth Kaiserin von Österreich (1972) [Elisabeth Empress of Austria]

This was kind of a weird one, but I really liked it!

The thing that was weird was that this felt way more like a documentary than a film, even though Wikipedia specifically lists it as a film on Elisabeth's page and not in the section with the documentaries, which is why it ended up on my list of Sissi-media, but it doesnt really feel enough like a documentary for me to call it that. Like, it has these sections with narration over montages of paintings and historical photographs where its just some guy recounting various battles and political decrees and what people at the time thought of them, but it also has actors playing Elisabeth, Franz Joseph and everyone else whos relevant in scenes that dont really feel like reenactments, its kinda weird, Ive never seen anything like this. The ending credits call it a 'Dokumentarspiel' which means something along the lines of 'dramatized documentary', and I think that's a very fitting term for it.

Because of that, it didnt really have much of a story and I feel like I cant really talk about this film the way I talked about the others. Like, it's basically just sober recountings of major historical events interspersed with somewhat relevant anecdotes from Elisabeth's life and then towards the end we get less of the historical events as she withdrew from politics and public life, and it doesnt really elicit a lot of emotion from me, which is what I prefer. But I mean, I thought it engaging and that it painted a very interesting picture of Elisabeth. And it was nice getting some actual information for once, Ive mentioned before that I really dont know anything about history and Ive been trying to steer clear of treating anything that's portrayed in any of these films as factual because obviously the people making them are going to take creative liberties for the sake of making a cohesive story, but it doesnt seem like that was the case here. It really makes me want to watch more documentaries, I think I might do something something similar to this project in the future, where I look for a bunch of documentaries and watch them in chronological order, that could be interesting. I probably wouldnt write reviews for those though

Anyway, lets talk about the other stuff. The editing was mostly fine, it was just a bit weird during some of the historical events-segments but it wasnt a big deal. The pacing was good too, given that there wasnt much of a story or a throughline (other than Elisabeth as a person i guess) I think it could have become meandering and feel like a bit of a drag, but it didnt. Although to be fair, this film was on the shorter side, its only 80 minutes. The only part that really dragged on was the scene of Elisabeth and Franz Joseph being crowmed king and queen of Hungary, they show the whole slow ceremony and it was very boring.

And if I'm already talking about scenes that kinda bother me, Elisabeth's assassination was very strange. Like, it shows her and Lucheni walking toward each other at the docks in geneva and it keeps cutting back and forth between them as they both walk at a brisk but measured pace, until he suddenly starts running and then he kindof skids to a halt on his knees right in front of her and quickly stabs her before running off. Elisabeth doesnt really react and the woman who's with her is like "oh no, what happened, are you hurt" but she says it in such a mild way, they straightup did not notice that she got stabbed. So yeah, Elisabeth tells her that everything is fine, shes just a bit shocked and she thinks that guy just puched hef, and she just. keeps walking. The woman is like "are you really sure youre not hurt" and she goes "ah, you know, now that you mention it, I guess Im in a little bit of pain" and she starts trailing off and then collapses. So thats it. Im guessing this was based on like, the real life testimony of the woman who was with her and eye witness reports and all that but still, what a series of events huh.

And last but not least, the actors were all okay. I think they couldve all been better but they werent bad or anything. I will say though, something about Marisa Mell as Elisabeth bothered me, I think its the fact that they start this film off with a bunch of paintings and photographs of her and then Marisa Mell just looks nothing like her. Especially when you compare that to how Peter Fröhlich actually does look quite a bit like Franz Joseph does in the paintings, just less prettyboy-ey and also hid eyes arent so blue and scary. And I mean, the actresses they get to play Elisabeth rarely look like her because they usually just cast generally attractive women with brown hair because yknow, she was supposed to be incredibly beautiful but the beauty standards have changed a lot since then and are shifting, but still.

Anyway, that's it. I didnt want to watch any documentaries as part of this little project, I wanted to focus on the media thats purely fictional, for lack of a better term, but this was a very good one and Im glad I ended up seeing it

New Customs

Lovino is restless. His leg hasn’t stopped bouncing since they left Matthew’s home. He knew that this day would come eventually but he tended to ignore the possibility entirely. After spending so long in the bright colors of the Gold Kingdom, the sight of his old home is almost gloomy. A deep sigh escapes him as he tries once more to get his leg to stop moving.

Without a word Matthew takes his hand. Lovino takes a quick look at his husband. Matthew is smiling uneasily as he looks out the window. He has it worse as far as Lovino is concerned yet he’s the one doing the comforting. Lovino shakes his head. This home is more familiar to him, Matthew has been completely uprooted.

They spent a full year in the Glow Kingdom together, during the course of their engagement to see if they could be compatible as a couple. Should they have really despised each other, the engagement would have been broken off. Lovino considers himself lucky in that aspect. Matthew is sweet and agreeable in every fashion, handles his quick quips easily and usually ends up laughing at his sassy remarks. He’s very lucky.

Their wedding had been fun, or as fun as any kind of ceremony can be. The hall had been decorated in their kingdom’s crests with an overabundance of the Glow Kingdom’s favored colors. The spectators all wore subdued colors if only to make it so Matthew stood out. His outfit had soft patterns and hardly any hard edges in brilliant gold and white that made him shine.

It contrasted drastically to the dark red suit Lovino wore. The angles hard and crisp that accentuated they way he is. Opposite but complimentary. The golden ring that now sits on his finger a reminder of where his spouse had come from, a matching ring of red on Matthew’s hand.

Saying the vows had been weird, but not entirely forced. Lovino couldn’t say he didn’t have a soft spot for Matthew. The small kiss they shared has yet to be repeated though it wouldn’t be the worse thing for it to be the only one they have. Lovino is just glad to have someone around who likes him at all.

The year ended, the marriage flying by in a blur of a night, and just a month later the call for Lovino to return home with his new spouse had been made. As the 1st Prince, he is the heir to the throne, and must return home to continue being taught how to rule when his parental figures decide to retire.

As only a 2nd Prince Matthew is the one who has to go through a long goodbye not knowing when he would actually be able to see the people he calls family again. He and his brother shared a long hug and the 1st Prince tried to pretend he didn’t have tears in his eyes. Every thing Matthew called his got packed into carriages along with themselves.

Lovino looks out the window next to him. Along with his clothes and trinkets, the footman Matthew called his came too. Not that Lovino minds. At first of course he had been furious at the idea of his then fiance having a footman. It’s not something his home kingdom condoned, more so wanting people of ‘lesser looks’ far away rather than close.

Matthew had his reasons though, and Lovino can not fault him for wanting to save someone’s life, especially after it had been his fault the poor boy might have been killed. The odd beauty Matthew told him of first believed to be nonsense is nothing but the truth.

Gilbert is extraordinary in his eyes. Highly different than anyone he’s ever seen in a person and beautiful. His eyes fit so well the colors Lovino grew up with while mixed with his complexion makes him stand out. His hair is hard to keep clean he’ll admit but after a decent rinse it shines. Every day since he knew it would be okay Lovino has run his hands through it.

He’s not sure where Matthew stands with the footman but he knows the looks they both give the self confidence lacking servant are more than just an idle affection. It’s similar to the looks they give each other.

He can’t imagine the kind of pain Gilbert goes through, his whole purpose of being near them in the eyes of everyone else is just to be an ugly ornament. Lovino could never see him that and he knows Matthew hates the thought. They work so hard behind closed doors to make Gilbert laugh, show some sort of emotion other than cowering.

Some days his personality makes a break for it, laughing loudly and saying something a little too snarky that might get him whacked in the back of his head. Lovino snorts and mocks the person for having no sense of humor while Matthew makes sure Gilbert is okay.

Some days though the world seems to shatter at the dejected look Gilbert can’t seem to shake. They usually happen on eventful days. Days where he is fully seen with his comforting hood pulled back and no where to escape from the other ‘pretty titles’ mocking him for how he is. Those days make Lovino furious.

He can’t count how many times he’s stood up to others for Gilbert’s sake and he plans to continue to do so no matter what. It’s cruel that someone like Gilbert has to be put through what being a footman is. If anything, Lovino is glad for it only because otherwise he never would have gotten to meet the wonderful person Gilbert is.

“Yo,” He says plainly. Gilbert looks to him from the horse that has been given to him. Matthew squeezes Lovino’s hand on the other side and he catches a glimpse of the smile on his spouse's face. Lovino smirks at Gilbert who has his brows twisted in confusion.

“Just so you know, my Kingdom does not have footmen,” Lovino tells him. He snorts at the way Gilbert’s eyes widen.

“What’s going to happen then?” Matthew asks. Lovino turns to him quick to share the smirk then back to Gilbert.

“Guess he’ll have to be our personal servant,” He shrugs. Gilbert almost looks disappointed but Lovino has a plan.

“You’ll have to be with us at all times and make sure we have everything we need,” He explains, putting emphasis on the fact Gilbert should be with them no matter what. Matthew giggles and a small smile cracks itself onto Gilbert’s face.

“That won’t be too hard will it?” Matthew asks happily from the other side. Gilbert shakes his head and a snicker manages to slip out of him.

“Not at all my princes,” He says but there’s a glow in his eyes that hadn’t been there before. Lovino is a little proud to say he’s the reason for that.

“Lovi!” Catching his brother somewhat easily, Lovino hugs Feliciano tightly, moving to bow to his mother and father next. His mother giggles brightly and pulls him in, forcing his dad to at least give him a comforting pat. Servants pour out of the castle to unload Matthew’s things and put them in the room the two will share. The Olive Palace is a welcome sight to him and the small homesickness he may have felt is far gone.

“Who is that?” Feli asks once he notices Gilbert carrying a special bag of Matthew’s more prized possessions. Gilbert bows properly first then tenses looking to Lovino and Matthew for help on what to do.

“He is my personal servant,” Matthew interjects quickly. The king and queen give each other odd looks at the excuses.

“He’s a little..strange don’t you think?” The queens says. Lovino smacks a hand to his face.

“Don’t be rude Carmen,” The king says to her though his disgust is just as evident. Lovino sighs.

“He used to be a footman, but we have both grown accustomed to his help and company and do not wish for him to leave,” He says darkly. The king and queen stare at him blankly before the queen laughs loudly and ruffles Lovino’s hair to mess it up.

“You always were the fiery one,” She says in a semi-condescending way. She turns on her heel and Feli follows after when she beckons for him, always the favorite. The king however pinches the bridge of his nose with a sigh.

“I trust you’ll forgive her eventually?” He asks. Lovino just raises an eyebrow to the question. Though not the worst of kings, as a father figure Roderich has some skills lacking.

“Not likely,” Lovino quips back at him. He waves Matthew and Gilbert to follow him. They both bow when they pass the king and scurry to follow after Lovino as he guides them to where he knows they have set him and Matthew up together. Their things are mingled already.

Once the door is closed Lovino presses the palms of his hands to his eyes with a deep sigh.

“How fucking rude!” He shouts suddenly causing Gilbert to almost drop the bag in his hands. He passes it off to Matthew quickly for fear of actually dropping it while Matthew just carelessly tosses the bag to the large bed in the center of the room.

“Lovino it’s going to be okay,” He says placing a soft hand on Lovino’s arm. He groans and snatches Matthew up in a tight hug that’s immediately returned. The squeeze is momentarily stopped by Lovino and Matthew both waving Gilbert closer. He does so hesitantly. When they wrap him up in the hug his hold on the two of them grows bold.

“One day no is going to say anything bad about you,” Lovino hisses aloud but they all know he says it for Gilbert’s sake. A small laugh escapes Gilbert and he smiles to Lovino gratefully.

“I’m pretty content to just be here with you both,” He says just a little awkwardly. Matthew takes Gilbert’s hand sweetly though Lovino’s glare grows.

“Content isn’t good enough, you deserve to be happy,” His tone is bitter. Gilbert laughs again but they can tell how much the sincerity gets to him when he casually rubs a small tear out of his eye. Lovino takes another deep breath then falls face first onto their bed. He’s joined by the two and lets them squish him into the feathers.

“Right now though, this is okay,” Matthew says to him. He grunts in response and Gilbert’s snicker is heard. As much as he hates how badly Gilbert is treated, what they have has to be enough. There will not be anything he can do until he is king and even then, it will take hours of learning, teaching, not to mention the years it will take to gain the proper knowledge. He’s still young.

They remain cuddled in bed until another servant comes to tell them a feast has been prepared. They join the main family in the dinning hall. Matthew is the one to answer questions about their time in his kingdom and the wedding. Lovino stays mostly silent until he has to talk. Gilbert stands with the other servants who aren’t sure how to treat him but his head is held high.

It will take some time Lovino knows this but one day he will make it so no one ever says anything bad about Gilbert again. The side glances they share and the slight smirks that appear when they do only cement the idea. Matthew smiles between them too and though Lovino isn’t sure where his feelings sit with the both of them, he knows he doesn’t want either of them to be less than happy.

scout: pe teacher :)!! challenges every student to a running race and nobody has beat him yet (otherwise i think he’d quit). he also knows a lot about anatomy, and uses his art knowledge to draw handy diagrams of muscles and tendons. super loud though will not stop using his whistle scout will you PLEASE for ONE MINUTE

soldier: THE most questionable history teacher. people think this guys just incredibly sarcastic and goes off on weird tangents about sun tzu and zoos but somehow actual history seeps in through the wall of insanity. beloved by gen z students for his cracked attitude, they’ve got the best bits going on 

pyro: drama teacher! always aids in crafting and painting the scenery, aiding in feedback and letting the drama kids go wild!!! their plays are legendary spectacles, and other students (and teachers) have no idea how they pull it off. real fire is used. often. they often substitute for art and music class too

demo: obligatory chemistry teacher, but! he’s also a fantastic english teacher. he’d encourage students to create wild stories and poems featuring cryptids and creatures of the night. his chemistry lessons are also infamous for the sheer explosion count. he makes it his one kabLOOM every week a studious goal

heavy: he’d be the chillest art teacher ever. create something new. learn plenty of art history and culture. try out the oil paints, try out the acrylics. just no screaming and you’re set!

engie: part time maths teachers, part time music teacher :) his lessons are known for his perfect balance between incomprehensible maths jargon and clear organised structure. and his music lessons are plain therapeutic :)

medic: yes he teaches biology yes only a select few can bear through the intense dissection classes yes he laughs birds fly out of concerning places in the laboratory. what about it.

sniper: ok so im not sure if schools outside of hungary have a technical lesson, but its essentially like. practical crafts - yeah thats sniper alright. he’d go ham w the woodcarving and sewing and all yeahh bring out the saws, young secondary students, im sure it’ll go well! (it does. he’s very strict and safe with everything, yknow. professional)

spy: geography teacher, but like keeps going off-syllabus and only talking about french history and culture. which is fine! except exams sometimes go off the rails as students are asked about topics mr. spy has never even mentioned - but it’s alright through spy’s absoloute snobbery they pull through in the end :)

so i believe cohdopia/allebahst & babahl could be somewhere in northern italy. quercus alba and colias palaeno have the scientific names of a tree and a butterfly respectively, therefore, they are both latin (though i have no fucking idea what colias palaeno actually means in latin, or if it actually is fully latin because i cant find shit about its naming, but quercus alba still stands. the only thing i can figure out about colias palaeno is that “colias” is either latin or greek) and therefore, i think they could come from somewhere that speaks a romance language. I think italy is probably the best bet because it’s a lot closer to latin. Im pretty sure (i could be wrong) that Palaeno gives you either a coupon or a postcard about mountains in babahl at one point, and since somewhere in the heart of italy seems a little unlikely to me (a country that is liable to split in half is something that is easily gobbled up by other nations, that threat is exacerbated to a million if that nation is surrounded by one singular other nation), im saying somewhere around either the alps or the maritime alps. Palaeno is also pretty tan, which makes the most sense (assuming he’s largely ethnically babahlese, which he could very easily not be) if he’s from southern europe. And Manny is short for Emmanuel, which is a pretty christian name, though I don’t know how common it is just for that reason in italy despite its heavy catholicism. Tourism is also a pretty prominent industry in italy, so there’s parallels with babahl there.

Also i dont think the location of any of the species used as names matters because cohdopia is stated to be european, but white oaks (quercus alba’s namesake) are not native to europe, theyre native to north america. The names of the nations are also pretty distinctly not latin, but also, that could be easily chalked up to english bastardizations (that happens a lot—you will probably be surprised at hungary and finland’s real names, and we probably all know the weird ass deal with germany).

pretty shaky premises? yeah. but to be quite honest with you there are far shakier and stupider cases in ace attorney that some people still love so its okay. if you have a better idea or more evidence feel free to add, but honestly, there is so little evidence for where cohdopia could be that i dont think theres really all that much more you could say. Honestly i think you could probably find leads for a different spot in europe using the symbols on the flags or even the architecture of the embassy or using some real world analogue to whitcrystal oil, but im not really aching to look into that right now.

Romania may also be a contender lol.

OH MAN i actually participated in a volunteer project with my mum a While ago where wed collect turtles from this specific park cos lots of people would put their turtles in there after they got bored of them and we spent an afternoon doing this it was really cool! so im not an expert on like, animal rehabilitation but if youre in hungary and you see a turtle thats probably up for grabs theres a high chance its a pet someone didnt wanna take care of anymore

idk about like, anywhere else tho but generally i dont think u shouldnt just grab A Turtle so yknow do ur research but im p sure people just putting their pet turtles outside is an issue everywhere else

Day 1 - Favourite memory ( @hetaliaplatonicshipsweek )

Note: its the platonic nyo!Ausswiss and I will often use their human names, Adelheid, Adele or Heidi for Switzerland, Anneliese or just Annie for short for Austria, Daniel for nyo!Hungary and Lilly for Liechtenstein. Also Heidi is aromantic, Anne not really. Im not sure if its country or human AU, you can see it however you want.

"Do you still like Annie?" Lilly asked her sister Adelheid, while they were cooking dinner at home on sunday afternoon.

"Dont get me wrong, i still care about her!" Older girl replied, she was surprised. She actually felt like garbage. Since years she lived really lonely life, her sister was the only one she actually spend time with and really cared about. When Heidi thought about it more it made her guilty. It wasnt always like this.

Years ago, when she was still a child she had one very close friend. They were neightbours, had a lot subjects to talk about and no one, who they trusted more than each other. They started to fall apart, when Anneliese met Daniel, a Hungarian guy, who quickly felt in love with her. As a teenager Annie promised Adele that whatever will happen in her romantic life, she will still be close to her.

Soon they found out how different they actually are. Annies mind was complety occupied with boys, especially Daniel and romances. Heidi was sure that she will find a guy for herself soon too, she and Annie will again have common topics to talk about together.

Actually it never happened. Brunette started to really choose her boyfriend over a best friend, blonde girl always felt like a second choice or even third one.

Finding a boyfriend for herself wouldnt solve her problems, especially when she knew she wouldnt really like to have one.

Soon, when they all reached majority Annie and Daniel moved away and started living together. They were so important to each other that they seemed to forgot that there are more people on this planet.

Is romantic love really much more valid then a true friendship?

Heidi was taken away from her thoughtfullness by her sisters next questions.

"But you aren't close anymore. What happened?" Lilly asked her sister, who was quietly cooking the soup.

"I dont know. Nothing in life is pernament. Once youre close with someone, then you just arent anymore." She answered quickly. This girl wasnt the best with words and talking about her emotions. "Now, dinner is ready. Can we eat it in silence?"

When Lilly finished eating Heidi asked her to wash the dishes and clean up kitchen. She needed a time for herself to think more about everything.

She felt so guilty now. Maybe if she was a better person, a better friend Annie would still be near?

Girl runned away to her bedroom and found her old diary.

She read first page snd already got hit by so many memories.

"Annie asked me to help her with one thing. She needed to ask Daniel to go out with her but was to shy. She said she always admired my honesty so I had to tell it to him so she wouldnt be so neurvous."

"Maybe I should tell her that he isnt for her? Am I really so jealous, Daniel is a good person." Heidi thought, she didny recognized herself, she would literally do anything to keep her friend near but wasnt aware of it.

Then she opened it on another page and started reading.

"Since I'm really rich I'm also very busy. You know, nothing comes for free. I love how Annie still helps me with my duties when it overwhelms me."

"It's so nice, Annie was always a good person and we were there for each other all the time. If we were sill friends life would be so much easier" this thought made Adele happy. She didnt felt so guilty anymore.

"This time me and Annie went together on picnic. We havent done this for a long time, but when we were kids it happened almost everyday. We are teenagers and soon will start adulthood. But we can still act like a kids who live peacefully and enjoy little things."

"I just realized how I want to go back in a time." Heidi said. She didnt liked mature life as much as she thought she will. She always neurvously avoids conficts and acts like she isnt ready for all of it, she won't handle eveything. Maybe she would be braver and more confident if her friend was still here?

Reading this and many more notes made her happy but now Adelheid realized that living in memories, acting like a child won't make her happy. She should adapt to the present and think about future. Remembering the past wouldnt bring her friend back.

She needed to do something right now!

Next day Heidi wrote a short letter to her friend and send it moment later.

"Dear Annie

Would you like to visit me soon? Sorry about not writing since a long time, i think I should make up for it.

I dont know what's happening in your life right now but I would love to know. How is your reliationship with Daniel? What are your plans for further future? Please send me a reply and tell me.

I live a nice, peaceful life but Im really lonely, despite having my sister always near me. We should definitely renew our friendship.

her name is chiara leandra vargas. i feel like maybe that didnt need to be said but also the name lovina, while similar to actual italian names, annoys me because its just tacking an a onto the end of lovino which isnt a name. i do think lavinia is kinda cute tho, although my favorite L names are leandra and larissa. 

i dont think italy had an equivalent to the Women’s Land Army (in Britain and the US, during WW1 and WW2, female civilians were organized into little farming communities to replpace the labor shortage caused by men going into the military), but that’s basically how i imagine her fashion sense is. just. this

on another fashion note, she tends to either dress similarly to the style of the WLA uniform or like. she’s trying to win at fashion week. 

chiara also makes the majority of her own clothes, with a preference for sewing by hand. i think that the nations are sort of treated like royalty by their governments, i imagine she’s had a lot of very nice clothes throughout the years, and there are certain things that she just misses, and modern technology can’t recreate her faves, so she likes to make stuff for herself. her level of involvement for getting the materials really varies too. if she’s feeling it, she might go out and shear a sheep. if that’s not the vibe she’d just as easily go to a fabric store and buy a couple meters of cotton. 

this is sort of related to another hc but she does not give a flying fuck about how feminine her wardrobe is anymore.

as an immortal woman, chiara tends to not particularly care about gender as a concept. she’s south italy, what more do you care, ya know? i think her relationship with her gender is a bit complex but also as simple as “well italia is feminine so it makes sense that im a woman.” like a lot of the female nations, i imagine she’s very strong and hasnt always been taken seriously by even the members of her own government, so it’s been hard, but she genuinely doesnt care anymore how people see her. because of that, she’s a much lighter person than she used to be, to the extent that other nations will comment on it. like...i think when she met russia again in the 20th century he was like wow you’re so chill what did you do to chiara? you know? and though she’s not like, fully happy and at peace with everything related to her gender, she’s just sort of over it, ya know? 

she has an interesting relationship with religion. i think she sees herself as being A Very Good Catholic™, but is she though? once again, as an immmortal, i dont think chiara’s very attached to religion as a concept, mostly because she cannot go to heaven, because she cannot die. well, she could, but she’s over 2000 years old and she doesnt look like she’s going anywhere soon, so. at this point she just sort of goes with what the church says, and if she disagrees with that, will make her own interpretation of the bible. and if she doesn’t like what the bible has to say, she’ll fall back on her own opinions. she has a little bit of catholic guilt about it

she’s definitely got some weird feelings about catholicism and how people can use it in ways that hurt others. its a bit conflicting, because the vatican is literally in her heart but she also doesn’t really like everything that comes out of it. at the end of the day she sort of prioritizes being a good person over being a good christian, although that’s not really how she sees it in her own head. 

she prefers to wear looser clothing. stuff that hides the shape of her hips and chest. this is because she’s often been told that she couldn’t fight or that she shouldn’t fight, because she’s a woman, but if you tell miss chiara vargas not to do something. She Will. i know that in hetalia canon female characters are shown to be soldiers too, like hungary, although im not sure if that’s the most historically accurate. i also think it might’ve been harder for nyo romano, because a lot of romano’s character is defined by his relationships with veneziano and with spain, during which both of them try to protect him from harm at every turn (screams in veneziano trying to make sure romano doesnt have to stress himself out with work while also implying that he thinks romano is lazy and incapable and thereby making him even more stressed because he thinks his brother hates him-). so if nyo romano is operating under those same frameworks and dynamics as her male counterpart, i think that spain and vene might have tried to fight for her a lot. that annoyed chiara for obvious reasons but also did wind up. preventing her from fighting a lot. i think that she was definitely involved in all military conflicts involving south italy, but not necessarily fighting for all of it, you know? anyway, all that is to say that i think she’d have people to sneak around if she wanted to fight, so she would need to disguise herself in order to do so. 

side note while she was like. an infantryman or whatever she definitely used that as a chance to explore her bisexuality. chiara would make a damn fine soldier and village girls think so too

lactose intolerant but still eats so much cheese because as south italy she legally has to. she suffers in silence because soy/almond/oat milk dont cut it for cheese. however, if she’s feeling a coffee with milk, she will use one of the non-dairy alternatives.

also had a thing with cuba for a time. borrowing the hc from the cumano server that cuba re-taught her how to speak spanish but The Correct Cuban Way and now she’s like. fucking carribean sounding. whenever chiara gets in a fight with spain she’ll lay on the cuban accent extra thick, because its fun to watch isabel pull her hair out sometimes :)

I really do think that most people that complain about it (around toh having a better rep) are from the USA.

Like I'm white but in my country we don't have laws that protect LGBTQ+people, that's not even to mention what's happening in Hungary and Spain.

Basically...I feel like they're speaking from a place of privilege because they don't understand how HARD it is to get LGBTQ+ rep. Many shows got cancelled BECAUSE of it!!

Dana herself had to fight to get lumity canon let's not forget that and she was able to win only because of previous shows that fought for LGBTQ+rep damnit!!

you have to be fucking with me if you actually think creators were satisfied with how much rep they were able to get in their show. they probably wanted a lot more! just like you!

sure, they may be really glad they managed to fight for the rep they were able to show but you can't be serious if you actually believe the creators of korra went "oh okay they held hands, that's enough rep for today!!" they wanted to show more but couldn't because it could risk getting their show cancelled. it's happened to many many other shows, it's not just a rumour.

i live in the uk but even then, this place is full of homophobia and transphobia. and where i'm from, bangladesh, they wouldn't even be able to show these shows there! you guys are lucky! there are so many kids in the east that won't get this rep until maybe a few years later, if not a decade.

i won't say you guys are greedy or asking for too much because you aren't! we deserve good rep! but judging by how the world is right now, you can't expect creators to jump straight in to stuff the owl house presented. if they did, it would not get the recognition it gets now. it would have been treated the exact same as all the other explicitly represented queer shows/movies. hell, i don't even think disney would allow it! this is disney we're talking about. if it wasn't for previous shows and the toh team, we would have not gotten the owl house.

we needed that build up.

(and just because the west is "getting better" with its queerphobia does not mean the rest of the world is. and trust me, the west is not as accepting as it may seem. you may be lucky but not a lot of people are.

soon, there will be a new show that does so much more than what the owl house was able to do. you don't want to see people talk down on all the hard work the team put in to run this show just because a show managed to do something more. it wouldn't have been able to do smth more if it wasn't for toh, right?

we aren't saying "it's okay" that companies aren't letting these shows present the rep they want, we are trying to say it's hard. i'm not saying "think abt the homophobes!!" im trying to say that queerphobia is the reason a lot of these shows couldn't show just as much as toh did and that you should not say toh was better rep when this isn't a competition.

we want to see ourselves in media, that is our goal. all these shows were never in a race to show the best portrayal of queer people. this is a mission. we are going to get what we want but ignoring the base steps of this mission won't help us at all. we got here because of these old shows.

the owl house has better rep because it was able to show more. the reason it could show more is because of the old shows. they aren't meant to be comparable.

K: I think the viewers already realise this, but we're shooting four epidodes at once. (note:* the covid episodes were aired at short notice after ep 3*).

J: Yes, four.

T: Our clothes havn't changed.

K: Is our positioning ok like this? Wouldn't it be better with you in the middle, Kaoru?

K: Well, next time we could change seats if we want? But, I havn't seen you two in a long time, I thought it would be better to look at you from over here.

J: Ah, yes. If you are in the middle you have to keep looking from side to side..

K: Yeah, so..we could change seats next time...We might even change our filming location?

J: For sure

K: I don't know though...we can carry on without making too many set plans.

J: I see.

K: He's not coming out today, is he?

J: He's not. Let's leave him alone.

K: Well, shall we get started?... Oh, actually, when we finished recording the last epidode, my boss came here, and said 'that was a lie, thats wrong'.

J: No, but its a bit worrying isn't it? From the listeners point of view, you hear that type of story and interpret it as something amusing, the story gets communicated on in that way.

J: You mean, theres no smoke without fire.

K: Yeh.. Its because he's just a bit scary *the others laugh*, thats why that type of gossip appears.

J: Of course

K: Right?

T: I see

J: Well, we don't know what he was really like back then...

K: I don't either.

J: But he surely wasn't one of those cuddly, happy people?

K: People in bands were just kinda scary back then, right?

J: They were scary, yeah. But they were also really cool, weren't they?

' "You watch it, you die", Antrum - The most cursed movie in history.'

'Unbelievablely, its to be released in Japan, this incredible movie is to be screened. Filmed in California, America in 1970, the movie 'Antrum'. Rumored to be excessively scary, and to bring about misfortune to those who watch it, it was said that this movie should not be released, but buried and restricted. However, in 1988, it was screened for the first time in Budapest, Hungary, and during its screening, a fire broke out in the theatre and it burnt to the ground. 56 people died in this incident. Since then, whenever this movie is screened, the people involved have suffered mysterious deaths, one after the other. It became a work of art that no-one wanted to touch. Then, we arrive at the present day. After a long search, documentary movie makers Michael Licini and David Amito discovered the 35mm film reel of 'Antrum'. They have decided to screen it with the warning that viewers must take personal responsibility for anything that happens. The movie will be screened this year in venues across the country from Friday.'

K: Whether it lives up to expectations or not, theres trouble either way.

J,T: Thats right.

J: If people die, they're in trouble, and if people don't die, and they get sued for misrepresentation, they'll be like 'What? Arn't you glad you didn't die?!'

T: I wonder what will happen.

J: They say everyone has to take personal responsibility.

K: Well, I'm slightly interested.

J: Would you go and watch it?

K: Hmm, I want to see it, yeh.

J: You're attracted to it?

K: Um, Horror is...

J: Ahh, Kami says you musn't, he's worried suddenly....Its not okay, Kami?

J: Oh, but from the human perspective you appear to die?

Kami: Yeah, I appear to die, but then am reborn.  *J, T laugh*

K: He doesn't need to be scared.

T: Pretty interesting.

Kami: No no, the bit where I appear to be dead..its kinda troublsome.

J: Its trouble? You're a bit nervous about that?

Kami: Yeh, im nervous. Its not good.

J: Its not good?

Kami: Yeah, going to see this movie is not good.

J: But, there is a certain attraction by people to these kind of supernatural, occult things isn't there?

K, T: Yeah, yeah.

J: You know, things that science can't prove.

Kami: Yeah, I know about all of it though.

J: You do?

Kami: Yes, I do. Because, god created everything on earth.

T: Well, yeah.

J: I see.

T: So, he shouldn't really be scared of this, should he?

K: Really, that makes this situation here part of the occult too, doesn't it?

J: This is the occult. *T laughs* Us talking to a god..*K laughing*  Talking to a god about movies even!

Kami: Well, there are many types of god aren't there?

J: Ahh, there are many types, yeh.

Kami: Yeh yeh, there are all knowing-all powerful gods...and gods like this one here. *the others laugh*

J: This god isn't very 'all knowing-all powerful'?

Kami: No, im probably in the lower orders.

J: *laughing* Yeh, we know that!

T: He sounds like a salaryman.

J: A hierarchy of gods..

Kami: Well, the middle-lower orders.

J: The middle-lower oders? *laughing*

T: Thats quite low, right? *J laughing*

J: It might just not be limited to recent times, but isn't there quite an occult boom going on now? How do you see it Kaoru?

Kami: An occult boom?

J: An occult boom.

Kami: Well, maybe its because a lot of things have already been solved. As science progresses, we know more...like the Higgs particle, you know it?

J: I've heard the name, but I don't know the details.

Kami: Its kinda like how the source of gravity was discovered. They spin it round really fast and crash it, right?

J: What a simple explanation!

Kami: Its in Switzerland!

T: In Switzerland...

J: They have the equipment to spin it and crash it powerfully, right?

Kami: Yes, yes. Atoms, they crash atoms into one another..and when they crash, the atoms break apart, and various particles have been discovered....and they saw a black hole forming and such. These kinds of mysterious things are really happening. *2.

T: Ehh, Kami, thats impressive.

Kami: So it could be just because of these solved mysteries, peoples' imaginations are swelling and giving them wild ideas?

J: I see.

K: Well, there must be people who like this stuff.

Kami: Wasn't my explanation easy to understand?

J: Yes, it was very well explained.

Kami: Spinning it around and bashing really hard, and then a kind of mysterious feeling...

*everyone laughs*

J: Thst is super easy to understand. Explained in simple terms.

T: Exactly

J: Only by a god..*3

T: Hey Joe, is that okay? *laughs*

J: Kami's awful aspects have transfered to me. *T laughs* The hopless parts. Those parts are showing in me.

Kami: Don't say hopeless!

K *laughs*

J: Oh did you hear that bit?

Kami: I heard it.

J: Of course, Kami hears everything (direct translation: hell ears)

K: This is awful!

Kami: Not hell, heaven.

T: Isn't this fourth time getting tiring?

*laughing*

J: Of course not

T: Actually, ive been to an event before where a spirit appeared.

J: Ehh?

T: When I say spirit, I mean Lincoln. There was a movie about the American president, Lincoln. So I went as a reporter to a weird movie event about it. And there was a medium there who could channel Lincoln so we could ask anything.

J: Wow...so, Lincoln spoke to you in person?

T: The medium started going 'Mmmghh mmmghh' and then 'Ready', so we all thought Lincoln had come to us, and we were told to ask anything, so someone asked 'Mr Lincoln, Mr Lincoln, what did you think of the movie? ..and after about three seconds the medium suddenly dropped down and said, 'Lincoln has left us'.

J: Ehh?! He didn't say anything?!

T: No, Lincoln didn't say anything.

J: Just 'Mmgh, mmgh'?

T: Yeah, and then he fell straight down..and was finished in three seconds. The whole venue had been waiting so eagarly...

J: What kind of article did Tokyo Sports write?

T: About how the venue was....*4

K: That fits well with this show!

J: This kind of chaos. So you were there, Tasai san?

T: Yes, I was reporting on it.

J: Oh really?

T: Yeh, that type of thing happened.

J: I wonder how the medium was after that, after Lincoln left.

T: She's getting paid for nothing.

K: Well, maybe some more accidents happened...

J: Oh yeah, she felt the danger. She didn't research enough before calling him.

T: She should have studied.

J: Maybe she didn't expect that many reporters?

K: Oh, maybe, she thought 'oh no..'

J: I reckon I could be a god then too.

K: Yeh, yeh.

J: Its pretty interesting, no matter what your capacity, you could be a god, right? *laughing*

Kami: No, being a god is not about your capacity...

J: Oh, its not, im wrong?

Kami: Are you making fun of me?

J: No, im not! Im just too naive.

Kami: Being a god is something you're born with.

T: Ahh, its deep.

Kami: Being a god is something you are born with.

K: He just said that.

J: Im kinda imagining him with a smug face right now. *K laughs*

J: I havn't met him so I don't know though.

Kami: Even though I can't do anything, Im different from you guys.

J: Ah, you are born different?

Kami: Yes, yes, yes.

J: You exist differently from regular humans?

Kami: Yes, yes, yes.

J: I see.

K: We're right back to the occult now, aren't we?

J: Yeh, this is almost like a Tokyo Sports kind of issue.

Kami: No, you mustn't doubt the existence of god!

J: Oh, you musn't?

Kami: You mustn't! If you do, and you watch this movie, you will die.

J: We'll die?

T: Scary!

K: I wonder if we'll really die?

Kami: So believe in god!

K: Oh, if you believe in god, you won't die if you watch this movie?

Kami: Yeh, you can increase your shrine donation or something..

J: It ends up with money again *K laughs* He always ends up talking about money.

T: Whats up with him? *K laughing*

J: He doesn't have anything nice to say. Its always down to money in the end. With Ghosn he was the same.

T: He was, yeh *laughing*

J: This has nothing to do with the movie 'Antrum'...

This was a really good one and I had a great time watching it. I felt a little bit of dread towards the end, but not nearly as much as in the first film, and I think that was mainly because it somehow just feels wrong to have a film about Elisabeth end happily, but thats a me-thing

And I mean, the throughline of the film was Elisabeth and Sophie fighting over her daughter so there were some scenes there that I did find as upsetting as that scene in the first one where they talk during the ball, but that 'upsettingness' didnt stick with me after the ending because that conflict ultimately does get resolved. Also, this ending of her being crowned queen of hungary didnt give me that feeling of "oh noooooo, Im just watching this poor girl lock herself in this horrible situation" that the wedding at the end of the first movie gave me. I also thought the tone of this film was a lot better overall, the first one really frontloaded all of its romantic silliness and then most of the drama was in the second half, whereas this one felt a lot more balanced. It also felt a lot less like it was actively trying to be funny, like there were a couple of jokes curtesy of that comic relief-major from the first film, but it was mostly just a little silly, which I liked a lot

Other than the stuff with Sophie, this film also dealt with politics regarding hungary and Elisabeth and Franz Joseph becoming king and queen of hungary which I thought was pretty interesting, even though that plotline did feel pretty shallow. It was basically just, Elisabeth loves hungary and the people of hungary love her and Franz Joseph wants to mend relations with hungary and he does that with the help of Elisabeth with basically no issues other than 'his mom and ministers dont like that' and it all works out fine. But idk, I did still like it

Then there was of, course, Elisabeth and Franz Joseph's relationship which I thought was very cute. I was really rooting for them, which is surprising because I was honestly expecting to really dislike him during the Sophie-stuff and him taking his mother's side, and I mean, he's not my favorite but I mostly just wanted him to listen to Elisabeth and work things out with her, like I wasnt mad at him at any point. Now that I think about it, I wasnt really mad at Sophie either even though I feel like she was about as hateable as you can get without going completely over the top. huh. I guess these characters just dont inspire a lot of emotion in me, other than Elisabeth but that goes without saying, Im sure you could already tell that I sympathize with her a lot from my last review lol

I think the sets were of about the same quality as the ones in first film, but the costumes were soooooo beautiful, much better than the ones in the first one imo. I especially liked the light blue dress Elisabeth wore when she went back home after having that big fight with Sophie and Franz Joseph, the dress she wore to the ballet and her coronation dress, they all looked absolutely gorgeous. The only outfit in this whole movie that I thought looked bad was the one she wore when she accepted becoming queen of hungary. It was this red dress with white accents and she wore a green jacket over one shoulder like a cape and its like "oh, I get it, its the hungarian flag colors" except the jacket is a completely different shade of green than the one in the flag and it clashes with the dress and it looks bad. Also, this isnt something that looked bad and its not even really a complaint per se, but all the women were wearing this bright red lipstick and I found it very distracting. Theres even a scene with Elisabeth's younger siblings (who I think are like 4-10 years old) where you can see that one of the girls is wearing it which was pretty weird. But I guess that was just the trend at the time

Anyway, pretty much my only real criticism of this film, other than it being kinda shallow which isnt really a criticism I have anyway because I still think its good, is that the editing was kinda choppy at times. Like, sometimes they would cut from one scene to another scene and it would feel really jarring and abrupt, or they would do a fade-transition but instead of smoothly fading from one scene into the other or fading to black before fading to another scene, they would start to fade out and then have a hard cut to the next scene before the previous one was even gone, it was quite unpleasant.

I dont have anything to say about the actors, they were the same ones from the first film giving the same good performances, so that's pretty much it. It's a good film, I liked it a lot better than the first one and Im very excited to watch the grand finale of this trilogy, Im very curious what theyre gonna do there.

I only have one last thing to say that didnt really fit anywhere else:

Im having a lot of trouble wording this properly, but you can really see how this film ended up influecing Elisabeth: das Musical. Like, during her big argument with Sophie and Franz Joseph, Elisabeth ends up saying something along the lines of "So youre on her side in this, against me" (thats a pretty bad translation tbh but Im not in good headspace for that rn) which is very similar to one of her lines in Die ersten vier Jahre
