I've come to another realization--

This scene in particular is so important ahem let me do some sort of analysis:

Firstly, Shadow's desperation to stop Sonic right away by exclaiming they're not real. This right here shows us that he empathizes with Sonic by trying to protect him from getting hurt. He understands these are the closest projections to his reality, so he does what he can to keep Sonic at a calm level instead of letting him spiral. We see this too by the way he guides his hand out to Sonic, but pulls back because Shadow has a difficult time expressing his emotions. I've stated before that I see Shadow as autistic. This, to me, kind of adds to that hc of mine. There's actually a lot of scenes in this episode I could pull to make my point ngl. Anyways, that's off topic a bit, but yeah he has a hard time with placing his empathy into comfort. Yet he still knows the right things to say, I believe this is because he's able to place himself in Sonic's view in some sense.

Shadow gets annoyed by Sonic for being stubborn and once again reiterates how Sonic has much more important things to live for. Like his "real" friends, I think Shadow saying this is so significant because it reminds me of his own backstory. He knows how hard it was to promise to save Maria and end up losing her, so he knows how Sonic would feel if he were to die and not be able to keep his promises or vice versa, where he couldn't save anyone else because of his impulsive decisions. The way Shadow becomes so adamant that Sonic needs to focus on those who are real and truly need saving makes me happy because it once again shows his empathetic side. He may not come out and say "I want to save everyone" but the way he expresses his desire to save those around him and to encourage Sonic in doing so as well, is brilliant. It's why he has in the past saved Rouge and other characters of course too. It's why he does sacrifice himself at the end of Sonic Adventure 2. He isn't heartless, he cares deeply and a character doesn't need to say they're a hero to do hero things either. Shadow can be a hero in his own way, but because of his past and because of him teaming up with EGGMAN. He came to be known on the dark team. You know the funny thing though, is that the dark team weren't even bad, they helped those around them, helped Sonic in many ways, I just believe they have different ambitions hence why they are on a separate team. I've always loved that they never considered them as evil. It makes Shadow such a realistic character in a lot of ways, he wants to save those around him, but he doesn't want to gain praise from it.

The fact that Sonic at first pushes Shadow away, but then pauses in realization. It's so good, the dynamic between them is why I'd love to have a game where they just have to work together and you play as both. It'd be interesting to see them write them as something other than rivals, because tbh, they weren't ever the typical rivals to begin with which I love. I think too it'd be such a refresher from all the poorly written Shadow characterization, it'd do justice for him and Sonic in a lot of ways. I also do hope one day that Sega allows us to play as all the characters again but i digress as I ramble on and on.

To go back on topic, they both wish for the same things but have such different mindsets. Sonic needed Shadow in this, because without Shadow, Sonic would be struggling to keep his head straight.

Brendon pov

I'm awaken by Dallon shaking me and freaking out dude it's our day off why the hell is he waking me up right now, I shove him away but that just pisses him off

"Urie wake up I need a favor man" he shouts "I have to go run some errands with Kenny and Dan I need some new strings and so does Kenny"

"Okay and that has anything to do with me how?" I yawn

"Remember how my sister is coming ?" He mutters, I sit up looking at him "well I need you to get her from the airport she's landing in five so you gotta go like now"

"God dammit dallon!" I shout, angrily getting out of my bunk and changing into some jeans and a tshirt and quickly running a hand through my hair and throwing my glasses on "you know I'm still going to be late"

"Yeah well at least it won't be an hour later now leave!" He yells, I grab our rental car keys and head towards the airport only being an extra three minutes late of what I shouldve been.

I head in and look around for his sister, not having any idea of what she fucking looks like, I stop and looking around, seening a girl with beautiful tan long legs, short hair to her shoulders, dressing in shorts and a black tee, she turns around and I smile at her and wave, she's got gorgeous (Y/ec) eyes and full lips she's stunning

"Brendon!" She announces happily making her way to me, how does she know me??? "I'm y/n weeekes dallons little sister he told me he couldn't make it"

"Oh uh yeah" I cough "sorry I was late he told me last minute to leave"

"No worries! What does that shit have to do that's so important anyways?" She giggles, wow even her giggle is adorable. Stop it Urie this is your best friends sister. "Brendon? Brendon are you okay?"

"Yeah sorry I'm exhausted, and he had to get some strings and restring his bass and Kenny needed to do the same" I shake me head "let's go"

I grab her bags and head out to the car her following closly behind, and I got a good look at her shirt, fall out boy. I open herdoor then put her bags in the trunk and soon were back to the bus.

When we reach she goes for bags but I stop her, dallon would kill me if I didn't help, we go in and she's startled letting out a little Yelp

"Jesus dallon James you scared me!" She yells hitting dallon "you know I scare easily asshat. " We all laugh

"Lucky day we get a hotel for the next two nights!" Dan yells "oh. Baby weekes is here I'm Dan "

"Hello Dan, I'm y/n, this here fuckers little sister" she giggles and nudges dallon, now that I get a closer look they kinda look alike. "so boys what's on the agenda what's planned to entertain me ?"

"Cut the act lady, you're not a princess here you're one of now" dallon laughs, throwing something at her, she yelps out an owe "aweee poor little baby"

"Taking it you missed your baby sister?" I laugh

"Nah bro she's a pest" dallon smirks

My day started off by dallon saying he couldny get me from the airport, informing me someone else was, turned out it was Brendon, he's even more gorgeous in person stop drooling it's your brothers friend.

We got back to the bus, and dallon is instantly picking on me, at some point Brendon laughs at dallon saying he missed me Dallon of course saying no, but another note. Brendons laugh is absolutely adorable, I'm pretty sure my heart stopped beating when I heard it

"Why don't we all freshen up, and we can go eat and sight seeing for a bit?" Dan suggests

"Oh please I would love that!" I squeal "and I'm starving. Might have gotten a little bakes before my flight "

"Really y/n" dallon scowls "you were supposed to stop"

"I'm sorry I was freaking you know it helps my nerves Dall" I sigh, Brendon gives me a sympathetic smile, and Dall hugs me

"Go get ready" Dall says, and I do, I put my hair in low pig tails, wearing skinny jeans and a jersey that says my last name on it, wearing some Nikes to top it off, I exit the bus bathroom and go back to the guys "hey you got your jersey!"

"I couldn't leave home with out!" I laugh, with that we all exit the bus getting in the rental car, Dan and Kenny upfront while Dall, B and I are in the back "im glad I got to come, mom and dad kept changing their minds"

"You'll have a blast" B speaks up "not only dallon will be watching out for you but we all will" dallon. Nods in agreement, and I have a feeling b and I will be great friends.

×time skip ×

After we did some sight seeing and ate alot and we even stopped for over cream and pretzels, it was time to head back to the bus so we could get to the hotel, the venue they're at will be there for the next couple nights. This being an off day, they wanted to go out again, tomorrow rehearsals, the next day concert and meet and greats.

Dallon wanted me to go out with them, but after that flight and walking so much today I'd rather hide away in the room and read or do something relaxing maybe explore the hotel

I grab my wallet and head out the door just as dallon comes out of the door, he stops me

"Where yah headed?" He asks

"Gonna check out hotel" I smile "have fun don't drink too much"

"Dont buy to much" he laughs, as I walk out I see the guys walking this way I wave

"He's almost done"I smile and walk off to the elevators, pressing the lobby button.

After walking around a bit, knowing there is a Starbucks close I make sure I have my room key before leaving the hotel, and heading to Starbucks

Once I get my drink, I head back to the room, unlocking the door, i grab my book out of my back and curl up on my bed, of course I chose the bed by the window.

It's almost one am, worried about my brother I just lay awake in bed then I hear a bunch of laughing and other noises. Assuming it's the guys I just close my eyes

"Shhhh y/n is gonna be asleep" Dall whispers

"DOG PILE" Dan yells

"Dan shut up!" Dallon half yells at him "you wake my sister up your dealing with her she ain't nice when she gets woken up"

"You would know, I'll be surprised if you can have kids " I smart off turning the lights on "I see you guys had some fun "

"If I can't have kids from how many times you've hit me in the balls from waking you up I'm killing you" dallon groans

"Don't wake me up" I sass, the other three just look at me, "are you okay back there? You look almost as if you've seen a damn ghost"

"Or Satan..." Dall spits out, we all laugh, yeah I have a temper when you wake me up but I was already awake

"Who's Frank Sinatra book is that" Brendon asks pointing out the book on the night stand

"Oh mine, I never go anywhere with out that book" I smile "one of my favorite people" I grab the book and smile "I've read it about five times'

Dan,and kenny just look at Brendon with their mouths open and dallon rolls his eyes, Brendon smiles at me then moves his arm so I can see his Frank Sinatra tattoo

"Holy shit that's awesome! Look at that detail!" I squeal

"You're now her Best friend Urie " Dan laughs "you two are never going to shut up now"

"Can you blame us? Frank is an absolute amazing man" Brendon speaks up I nod in agreement "what's your favorite song of his?"

"That's so hard, but my three tops faves are My way, witchcraft and the way you look tonight" I smile wide "you cant have just one favorite of his"

"That's a very good point" he chuckles "everything of his is good, I've always wanted to see his movies"

"Me too, and luckily for me I found one on Amazon and I got it before I left!"

" for the love of God it's one am you two can go on about frank Sinatra tomorrow or even the next day!" Dall groans the other two nod

After they leave dallon Changes while I lay down finally able to fall asleep "night y/n I love you I'm glad you could some see me"

"I wouldn't wanna visit anyone else than my brother dallon I love you too" with that We both fell asleep.

××××× I wake up and hear two voices talking quietly in the room, I move so I can see who it is but make sure they can't see I'm awake, dallon and Brendon I close my eyes and listen to them talk

"Brendon you're my buddy, and I appreciate you get along with my sister already but cool it man" dallon snaps "she's my sister you can be friends all you want"

"d chill it's not like that fuck" Brendon Cruses

"Get whatever idea you have outta your goddamn head Urie" "cause I swear to God if anything happens I'll beat your ass. That is my baby sister and I don't want her hurt"

"Dallon I'm not going to do anything or hurt her!" b half shouts "it's nothing like that dude, it means nothing. "

Brendons words hurt me, my breathing suddenly shallow, yesterday he was so nice now he doesn't care...? Men are weird, I finally decide to sit up and stretch like I just woke up making sure I looked sleepy and messy

"Dall? Dallon are you In here?" Acting like I don't know he's here I don't wait for an answer "well damn my own brother can't even wait for me to wake up to eat breakfast"

"Y/n I'm here" he chuckles "I'm talking to Brendon"

"Oh good morning why are you here?" I ask kinda harshly

"Came to see if you two wanted to go eat with us others" he responds seeming kinda hurt by my tone "were going to ihop then gonna fuck around before rehearsal"

"Dallon can, im not that hungry" I say, obviously a lie I'm starving but I'll eat here at the hotel "you boys better get moving you have a lot to do today"

"Y/n cut the act you're going to eat with us and coming with" dallon argues "I flew you owe here to spend time with you now get your little ass dressed right now young lady"

Groaning I get up and grab my bag hastily, going into the bathroom, I grab a tank top and my red flannel pulling on some jeans brushing my hair and teeth and applying some mascara, I go back to them and grab my phone and book and of course ear phones preparing to entertain myself during rehearsals.

We leave and meet Kenny and Dan at the loby.

"Good morning little weekes how did you sleep?" Dan asks "hopefully better than Kenny and I"

"Once I finally went pretty good" I giggle "now why did you two not sleep? Did Mr Urie keep you up?" They laugh knowing I was being sarcastic

"Actually yeah he kept snoring" Kenny laughs "not to mention he kept moaning in his sleep"

"Dude wet dreams about someone again?" Dallon laughs, wow like I wanted to hear that gross.

"At least he wasn't jacking off" I blurt out dallon looks at me with pleading eyes not to tell the story "oh thats right dallon I still remember that"

They look at us wanting to hear what I'm about to say dallon goes to cover my mouth thankfully Dan and Kenny stop him

"So more than once, this has happened and I have nightmares because of it. It's not something a little sister should've seen!" I laugh "anyways. One time family vacation came around mom and dad wanted their own room and gross, well I woke up to moaning and found dallon jakcing off"

"Why would you do that with your sister in the room dude?" Dan laughs "I feel so bad for you y/n "

"I couldn't help it" dallon shouts

After we stopped laughing at that we finally went to ihop, then straight to the venue, I instantly went my own way from the boys, finding myself in the stands I sit down pulling my phone out turning on music

Song after song, being lost in reading my thoughts are snap when 'Death of a bachelor" comes on my playlist, I know it was Brendon and it's one of my favorite songs, I continue to read while singing along to the song my voice echoing in the arena

"The death of a bachelor oh oh Letting the water fall The death of a bachelor" I sing not caring at the moment if anyome heard, I hear something making me snap my head towards the stage seeing the boys watching me, all amazed even dallon, quickly I grab my book and run off suddenly embarrassed they heard Me Brendon heard me singing his song shoot me now

I lock myself in the women's bathroom and pace, deciding to text breezy my brother's girlfriend and soon to be mother of his child

To Bweezy: breezy can I talk to you I'm so embarrassed ,😶

From Bweezy: sure what's up!

To Bweezy: so I wondered off at the venue during rehearsals to read my book and doab came on and The guys caught me sining it... I'm embarrassed they caught me singing their song!

I pace back in forth in the bathroom, wetting my face with cold water I needed to calm the hell down

From Bweezy: what did you do?! Dallon shouldn't be surprised he knows you can sing!

To Bweezy: I ran to the bathroom and locked mself in.. I probably wouldn't have done that if I didn't kinda feel attracted to Brendon... Oh breezy what do I do

From Bweezy: awh little y/n likes B! Wait does Dall know?

I sigh sliding down the bathroom wall bringing my knees to my chest

To Bweezy: no. But I woke up to them talking Dall threatened him and B said it doesn't mean anything bro.. because we hit it off really well and yeah...

I hear a knock at the bathroom door making me jump and squeal

"Just a minute!" I shout, I fix myself grabbing my book and opening the door instantly running into someone I look up and see dallon " oh hi..."

"Why were you locked in there?" He asks "I've been looking for you then one of the stage crew said they saw you come in here"

"I uh I was uh embarrassed..." I mutter, Dall laughs and pulls me into a hug "why are you hugging me Dallon James?"

" There's no reason to be embarrassed, I was amazed you can get that High, hell we all were Brendon was shocked you actually could sing it that well"

I just shrug, wanting to walk away but he follows me, I wanna just tell him to stop talking but I'm not going too, we reach the guys and they all smile, I don't do anything but just wave at them

"Hey y/n that was really good" Kenny speaks up "it's crazy to know someone can hit that high note"

Dall motions for him to shut up, cause I'm still embarrassed and I get anxious when people talk about my singing. Unless it's dallon cause I'm used to him hearing me. Only wanting to hide away in the hotel room.

After rehearsals are done, we go back to the hotel, all going back to mine and dallons room I wanting to go swim, I put on my swim suit

"Dall I'm going for a swim I'll see you in a bit" I announce, as I walk out Brendon is coming back from his room changed into basket ball shorts and a different shirt I try to hurry and walk away but he catches up

"Y/n can we talk?" I just nod "I just wanted to say you're really good at singing, and we wanted to let you sing at the next venue since is last minute today. The guys will be playing for you"

"Just stop right there Mr urie, I have stage fright I can't do that, my anxiety wouldn't let that work out" I cut him off " it's your show to do it. Now excuse me I'm going for a swim."

It was a little harsh I know but I just wanted to go swimming.

After swimming I made my way back to the room, as I'm unlocking the door my phone rings

"Unknown" I answer anyways

"Hello.is this miss y/n Weekes?" The voice asks

"Uh yes this is she" the guys give me weird looks "may I ask who this is?"

"Well yes you may, this us UCLA" they announce, "we wanted to hear the response to what we have to tell you miss weekes"

"Please go on ma'am"

" It's a letter but we thought a call would be better" they pause I put it on speaker while changing In the bathroom "Dear Ms Y/n Weekes, we are glad to have received your application for UCLA you have made a great impression with the principals and professors here, and we would love to Inform you we are glad to accept the application and to announce you are now a student of UCLA"

"No way!" I squel "thank you so much ma'am this means so much I'm so happy!"

"Great! School starts in the next two months see you then Ms Weekes!" I hang up and run out of the bathroom the first person I see I hug not caring.... Well it's Brendon

"I MADE IT INTO UCLA GUYS!!" I scream "DALLON I MADE IT INTO UCLA" I run to him and hug him and start crying

"THATS AWESOMS!!" He shouts "we've gotta celebrate!"

We ended the day with a nice dinner celebration for me being accepted into UCLA, it was a nice fancy restaurant, them all taking turns on spoiling me at the mall too, I couldn't be happier right now.
