I don’t want to cause a mess on your blog. But, I wonder about your opinion of people consistently praising (and being obsessed) straight wh*te gi*ls when it comes to lgbtq work. I wouldn’t have a problem if they also supported actual lgbtq artists as much as they did them. I think with Pride month it’s definitely pushing a nerve
lol i hate it so hard. i wrote a full on tedtalk about down below lol it’s very train of though so soz if it makes 0 sense
playing a gay character doesnt do anything and i HATE that people are like ‘oh yes queen!!!’ ‘gay rights!!!’ like i get it’s a joke but 1) the people saying this are like......sometimes bi, usually straight who use the term bi because, believe it or not, people do that but you can always tell who’s faking it so dont stress lol and 2) these girls are doing the easiest thing ever: not hating gay people and yall are living for it.
even in the bway community yall WET YOURSELVES over betsy wolfe playing a lesbian but here’s a hit take: she’s still straight, she did nothing groundbreaking with that show. she isnt an honorary lesbian. she’s doing the bare minimum. and i dont wanna hear that ‘oh it’s just a joke’ with shit like ‘[actress who played a gay character’s name here] can say dyke’ because then that shit happens like when caity lotz said dyke lol that was you guys, you fuelled it so hard. and with the bway community again this is a little unrelated but STOP with the whole ‘dont assure the sexuality oof people like ben tyler cook and any other white newsies’ because.....ben’s gay. he’s gay. like......he’s gay. he’s worn shirts that say shit like ‘boys liek boys’ and yall straightie fansies are still like ‘HE COULD BE STRAIGHT!!!!’ like girl wake. up.
THEN the music industry is a whole other mess. that boring girls song with cardi b and rita ora came out and like....it basically was the exact same message as i kissed a girl with his ‘i kiss girls when im drunk at parties and even though it’s a thing even straight girls will do just for the experience i gotta right a song about it’ only girls features the horrible phrase ‘kush loving’. then hayley k and kehlani say that the song was offensive and you get 100000 youtubers making videos calling hayley triggered and offended by everything and people on twitter calling her a drama queen and people like ‘hypocrite all hayley’s song are about kissing girls she’s a gatekeeper’ IT’S NOT GATEKEEPING BECAUSE IF YOU ONLY KISS GIRLS DRUNK AND HIGH AT PARTIES YOU’RE NOT GAY THAT’S THE TEA’ call me problematic but i dont believe half those people are bi like they claim lol cancel me bbs. cardi b definitely isnt ,she’s a homophobe lol. and then people were ‘well this was my experience too! this is how i feel same with rita or hayley MADE HER COME OUT!’ nah bitch rita chose to come out when she wrote and recorded a whole damn song. she knows gay sells. like and no one talks about mary lambert even though she’s the best lgbt artist of today. she is amazing. but she’s fat and has mental illnesses that aren’t just anziety and slight depression so fandoms dont want her because she cant be marketed as a sex symbol. because even though they’re amazing.....hayley kiyoke and kehlani are marketed as Sex. and people see that and are like ‘yesss lesbian queen!’ but ignore everything behind the song. like how people still think hayley is bi. if you’re only supported gay art and not the people who create the art you’re gross. girls like girls isn’t a bi anthem it’s a lesbian anthem because it was written for lesbians. all of troye sivan’s music is aimed towards uplifting gay men. ariana grande, and im sorry to say this, is about straight people. and men. you can call no tears left to cry a gay anthem and this song an anthem and this song but they’re still written by straight atrist while you guys are ignoring smaller gay artists because it’s not much effort looking for them WHEN THE REASON THEY’RE NOT POPULAR IS BECAUSE PEOPLE IN THE BUISSNESS SEE IT AS ‘this song needs to market to everyone’ and even straight people like little twinks so troye sells. but ive never heard hayley on my radio....but i’ve heard girls because it’s as gay as it can be without it being a ‘gay anthem’ because it’s literally 2018 i kissed a girl.
gay music goes ignored, actual gay theatre actors are ignored if they’re ‘undesirable’ which means not blonde sopranos in the 20′s-30′s ike jen colella and beth malone and straight women producing music, films and media about gay characters ill always make more money than something produced by gay people they dont want to hear something ‘too gay’.
