hello chat i am going to be a hater in tags for a moment (jst finished natlan act IV)
#snobrambles#wow /neg#i heard the story was bad but WOWWW#hoyo you are lost potential the company#you took the topic of war and had so many different routes and perspectives to look into and you went with power of friendship#I KNEW IT WAS POWER OF FRIENDSHIP BC I HEARD MOOTS TALK ABOUT IT BUT I DIDNT THINK ITD BE SO ABRUPT?#im not even mad im just mildly annoyed#there were parts i liked like where youd see differences depending on what you decide to do#like chosing to save one or the other and seeing the consequences#i thought that was neat#other thing i liked was diff chars talking about how witnessing all this scarred them but. i wish they fed into that more#and actually SHOWED that feeling rather than just going “wow! so im traumatized now”#and dude you couldve done more with the ancient names and mauvikas past.#like you couldve at least made it so that the six heros reminded her of the people she knew#give us a bit of sorrow instead of her walking around imagining her old friends and smiling bc tbh that made me feel nothing#and god the six heros thing did not feel well earned#its yae all over again in the sense that it felt like everything got solved way too easily#like wtf were all those losses for. it felt pointless#paimon getting emotional and us probably seperating in the next act was somewhat intriguing#i feel nothing for any of the chars except kinich but thats bc i find him funny#ugh. this story couldve been so much better#war itself is such an interesting topic in stories and it has so much potential and they absolutely fumbled and flunked it#also chuychus death was so abrupt and chasca crashing out made me laugh. sorry. ik it was supposed to be sad but i felt nothing#she was holding back her inner alpha wolf THE GACHA ALLEGATIONS ARE NOT ENDING#i felt nothing most of the time#the only strong feeling i felt throughout the quest was annoyance (cough mainly bc of citlali cough)#dude even the fake sky part felt underwhelming#i dont like how they brought it up out of nowhere and then barely adressed it#“anomaly” ok. ig. so what was all that buildup abt the fake sky for. only to show it and then shove it under the rug#i have more thoughts but tumblrs going to eat my tags to tl;dr: (furina voice) BOOOOOORING

The promises we cling to | Finnick Odair x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
thg masterlist / inbox / part two
summary: this is basically just me starting with the "people are watching / then lets give them something to look at" prompt and maybe getting a little lost in the process
word count: 3.6k
tags / content warnings: angst, fluff, violence, blood, injury that whole shebang, I actually proofread this one but that doesn't mean I spotted everything sorry in advance
a/n: apparently the only time I'm capable of writing is when im less than a day away from my constitutional law final and delusional because i've been awake for 38 hours so hopefully this will give me enough dopamine to actually get a passing grade
Tumblr media
Finnick knows how this works; he’s known it since he was fourteen years old and first stepped foot in an arena. Since the moment he lost sight of you, since the bloodbath separated you, Snow’s words haunt him with every cannon he hears: "She is just another thing I can take from you."
And yet—
He still dares to believe you’re alive.
Not because the Capitol hasn’t tried. Not because the odds are kind. But because you promised. You swore you’d fight. And Finnick clings to that vow like a prayer, even as the arena’s cannons rattle his bones. Last night, he’d counted the fallen—your name absent from the sky’s grim ledger. But three more cannons have split the air since dawn, and now—
Now he’s not sure what to believe. The rational part of him—the part carved into survival by years of Capitol cruelty—knows the truth: They’re playing with him. But the other part, the raw and bleeding thing behind his ribs, doesn’t care. The rebels’ plan echoe in his head, "Stay put. Wait for extraction." But he’s itching to move, to act, to do something besides sit here and wait. Every muscle in his body is filled with restless energy, his fingers tapping a precise rhythm against his trident. The inaction is worse than any challenge the arena could give him. He wants to run back into the jungle, to tear through the branches until he finds you, but he knows you. That's the cruellest part.
He knows how you think, the way you map escape routes before you even enter a room, the way you always have a back-up plan for your back-up plan. And right now, this beach is your plan. It’s the rendezvous point you had all agreed on before the Games even began, a secret strategy the rebels had managed to lay out. If he leaves, he risks missing you. If he stays, he risks leaving you to die alone. The dilemma claws at his ribs, and around him he can hear the others strategise, but their words blur into static. All he can hear is the phantom echoe of your voice in his head as you tell him it will be okay. Johanna catches his eye from across the beach, her glare sharp enough to cut. “Stop pacing. You’re making me twitchy.” He forces himself to let out a deep breath, focusing on the movement of the water in front of him. He needs to put himself back together; he needs to stay here.
But then—your scream. It tears through the jungle, a sound so visceral his body moves before his mind catches up. He’s already sprinting, the grip on his trident tight as his instincts kick in.
"Finnick, stop—!" Johanna’s voice is lost to him over the rushing of blood in his ears. The trees blur as he runs; he doesn't think about the careers that could be close by, the traps that he could trigger or the fact that he’s doing the exact opposite of what he’s supposed to. The flicker of movement to his right catches his attention, and he’s about to change directions when the jabberjays descend. They’re a swarm of wings and needle-sharp cries as they surround him, their voices stitching together into an illusion of you: your gasps, your sobs, the way you’d whispered his name before being forced apart. He stops moving and staggers to his knees. It’s not real. He knows it’s not real. Knows that Snow’s fingerprints are all over this new form of torture. But logic means nothing when his hands are shaking, when his lungs refuse to work, when every instinct screams to run, find, save—
Johanna grabs his shoulder, her nails biting through his skin. "Breathe, Odair."
The jabberjays' cries fade into the jungle's chorus, leaving Finnick hollowed out and raw. Johanna's grip on his shoulder remains, her fingers digging into muscle like she's the only thing keeping him from splintering apart.
"Get up," she hisses, voice low and urgent. "We need to move before those things lure anyone else here." Finnick's hands still tremble as he pushes himself to his feet. The phantom echoes of your voice cling to him, sticky as blood. He wants to argue, to plunge back into the green hell after you, but Johanna's right—the sound of the jabberjays could be a beacon for every tribute left in the arena.
The walk back to the beach is a blur of snapping branches and Johanna's muttered curses. When they break through the treeline, Beetee's head jerks up from the makeshift radio he's been tinkering with, his glasses flashing in the sunlight. "Did you find—?"
"No," Johanna cuts him off, shoving Finnick toward the water. "Go clean up before I toss you in the water myself.” Finnick's gaze drifts to the treeline, his fingers twitching at his sides. You promised you'd fight. He just needs to believe you're still fighting.
Tumblr media
You wake to the taste of copper and dirt. The world swims into focus slowly—first the ache in your ribs, then the sticky warmth of blood matting your hair to your scalp. Somewhere in the chaos of the bloodbath, a blow to the head had sent you sprawling into the undergrowth, separating you from the others. The jungle hums around you, deceptive in its tranquillity. Every rustle of leaves could be a mutation, every snapped twig a Career hunting for stragglers. The beach is your only chance—you know Finnick will be waiting there, even if it kills him. You press your back against a tree, lungs burning, and your ribs scream where a Career’s boot found its mark yesterday, but you know you need to keep moving; too much time has passed already. You know the way his voice cracks when he’s trying not to beg, the way his hands shake after nightmares, you know he’s counting cannons, just like you are—each one a fresh wound. So you bite down on the pain and move.
The arena doesn’t kill you quietly; it creeps in through the cracks—the stench of rotting foliage, the too-sweet tang of tracker jacker venom lingering in the air, the way your own sweat stings the cuts on your palms. So you move in bursts, pausing to listen between steps. The arena's traps are everywhere.
When the jabberjays come, their shrieks weaving together your name in Finnick's voice, you almost believe it's real. Your chest cracks open with want, but you bite your tongue until you taste blood. The jabberjays' voices fade, but their poison lingers in your bones. You press a trembling hand against the rough bark of a tree, counting breaths until the phantom sound of Finnick's screams stops echoing in your skull. Every rustle of leaves sends your pulse skittering. The wound on your ribs throbs in time with your footsteps, a fresh bloom of pain with each misstep. You try to focus on the memory of Finnick's hands steadying you after nightmares – his thumbs brushing your wrists in slow circles. Breathe. Just breathe.
The first hint of salt air cuts through the jungle's rot. Your knees nearly buckle at the scent – it smells like Finnick's skin after swimming, like promises whispered against damp hair. The ground begins to slope downward. Somewhere beyond the trees, waves crash in a rhythm you'd know blind. You're close now. So close. A twig snaps; you freeze, muscles coiled.
Then—a sound. Not a cannon. Not a mutation. A rhythmic tap, too precise to be accidental. You know that sound, like you know the hitch in Finnick’s breath when he wakes from nightmares. Like you know the way his fingers drum against your hip when he’s impatient, when he’s afraid, when he’s trying to pretend he isn’t either. The beach is close. You know that rhythm, the way his hands move when his mind is racing, when the nerves he’d never admit to are fraying his control. And just like that, you’re running; you’re reckless. You can smell the sand now; you can almost hear their hushed voices. But the arena has one last cruelty in store.
You feel it before you see it, that split-second prickle at the back of your neck, the sudden hush of the jungle like the arena itself is holding its breath, and you know the fatal mistake you’ve just made. Memories crash over you like a riptide. The bouncing of his knee under the kitchen table on the morning of the reaping, the way he’d flinched when your fingers brushed his wrist, then clung to you like you were the only anchor in a storm. You remember the Tuesday he’d shattered a teacup at 3 a.m., his breathing coming out in jagged bursts. You hadn't asked him why; it didn't matter why. You had just slid down beside him, pressing your forehead to his temple until his lungs remembered how to work.
And that damned peach pie, the memory of flour dusting his lashes as he’d laughed at your frantic perfectionism, only to turn pale as a ghost when you’d yelped at the oven’s burn. His hands, so careful, always so careful, cradling your blistered palms while his voice stayed as steady as the tide. “Breathe, sweetheart. It’s just pie.” It had been his mother’s recipe, the first thing he trusted you with that hurt to share, and you were more upset over messing it up than the burn on your hands. And that night on the beach, salt air clinging to his lips as he whispered “Promise me” with a desperation that carved itself into your bones. The version of Finnick the Capitol moulded was gone; there was only the raw, trembling truth of him.
It had reminded you of the first time you met. The way Finnick’s laugh had faltered when your eyes locked across the room years ago—like he’d been sucker-punched by his own heartbeat. The Capitol’s golden boy unravelled in an instant. The sun was starting to rise over the water, the soft light showcasing the tension in his shoulders.
You’ve seen Finnick Odair wear a hundred masks, but this—this restless hesitation, his fingers worrying the edge of his sleeve—is new. You open your mouth to ask him, but he speaks first. “I know you like to tease me about the clichés I tell you.” His voice is rough, like he’s been screaming into the tide. “But I need you to know I mean every fucking word.” When he turns, the look on his face steals your breath. This isn’t the polished charmer from your early days or even the fractured man who once sobbed into your collarbone after a Capitol party. This is something rawer. Something terrified.
Your fingers find the nape of his neck on instinct, threading through sweat-damp curls. He shudders, leaning into your touch like a dying man offered water. “I know,” you whisper. “No.” His hand clamps over yours, pressing your palm flat to his pulse. It’s racing. “When I say I’d die for you, I mean it. Let me mean it.” The words are a blade between your ribs. “Finn—”
“We’ve both known what will happen at the reaping, even if we pretend we don’t.” His thumb traces your knuckles—so gentle, so at odds with the fire in his eyes. “You’d walk into that arena alone just to spare a stranger. That stubbornness is why I—" He chokes. “But you have to let me be selfish too.” A tear slips down your cheek, but he catches it before it can fall from your face. “Promise me.” His voice cracks.“Promise you’ll survive, even if I don’t.”
You want to argue. To shake him until his teeth rattle. But the plea in his gaze is a mirror of your own soul. “I promise.” His exhale is a seismic thing, like he’s been drowning for years. You seize his wrist before he can pull away. “Promise me too. That you’ll fight, no matter what.” There’s a flicker of agony in his eyes, but just like you had known, he knows you need to hear him say it. “I promise I’ll try.” There are so many unspoken words as he looks at you. So many more clichés you know he wants to give to you, so many reassurances you wish you could give him, but the one promise you have always shared is louder than ever: you won’t let them have the satisfaction of knowing they can break you.
So maybe this is how it was always meant to be. The thought comes to you with eerie clarity as Brutus enters your line of vision and his fingers crush your windpipe. You’ve kept your promises, you’ve fought like hell, and now—now you’ve made it back to him, even if only for a final heartbeat. Your vision tunnels, and every gasp is like a knife being dragged through your lungs, but you don’t stop moving. Your fingers reach for the blade embedded in your palm — the one you’d taken from another tribute hours ago, the one still slick with your own blood. Brutus snarls as you drive it into his wrist, and for one glorious second, his grip loosens. You suck in a fractured breath, but then his other hand slams you against a tree. “Is that all you’ve got?” His breath is rancid, and stars burst behind your eyes, the world around you fracturing into fragments as he lifts you off the ground, once again stealing your breath from you.
You think of Finnick, the real him, the one who kissed you like he was starving as he trailed a path all over your body, who whispered against your thighs like he was reciting a prayer. Just as you’re about to give in to the memories, throught the static in your ears, you hear it, and Brutus’ head snaps toward the sound.
"Get your fucking hands off her."
The voice is raw with fury, edged with something worse—terror. Brutus actually flinches. It’s a voice you’d recognise anywhere; you’d know it underwater. In a hurricane. At the end of the world. Finnick.
You hit the ground hard, your lungs screaming as they try to reclaim the air you’ve been gifted once more, but all you can process is him. The unmistakably feral look twisting on his face as he slams into Brutus like a tidal wave, the sickening crunch of his fist meeting jawbone—once, twice—each blow precise and vicious, the way his trident lies abandoned behind him; he didn’t even bother using it. This isn’t combat; this is butchery. Your vision swims as you stagger upright, only to collapse again. Every gasp feels like swallowing broken glass, but you have to get to him—
Crack.
The sound isn’t just heard. You feel it in your bones. Brutus’ head snaps sideways, his knees buckling as Finnick drives an elbow into his temple. There’s no finesse, just a boy who’s spent too many years sharpening himself into a weapon, finally cutting loose.
A wet cough wrenches from your throat, and Finnick’s head whips toward you so fast it’s a miracle his neck doesn’t break. For one fractured second, his rage falters. You’ll remember that look forever. How his eyes went wild, how his breath hitched—like he’d just watched you die. The sound of your wheezing seems to snap him out of his trance. Though he’s covered from head to toe in blood spatter—none of it his—he has never looked more fragile to you. He rushes to your side, dropping to his knees as one hand cradles your face while the other takes yours, pressing your palm against his ribcage to help you steady your racing breaths. His thumb strokes your cheek in slow, uneven sweeps—a nervous habit. The blood smearing your skin is thick, still warm, but you can’t bring yourself to care, not when Finnick is looking at you like this, like you’re dawn breaking over the ocean after the longest night of his life.
Despite the ache in your arms, you lift your free hand and catch his—the one that had been tracing restless patterns against your skin—and press his palm to your chest. You know the steadying rhythm of your heartbeat is one of the few things that can anchor him now. A spark flickers to life in his eyes as they roam your face, as if he’s memorising the proof that you’re here, alive.
“I’ve missed you.” The words are too small for the weight in your chest, but they’re the only truth you can grasp. His chuckle is rough, warmth bleeding into the sound, and it reignites the dull ache in your heart—then fans it into a wildfire when he murmurs, “I missed you more.” You can feel the want boiling inside him—the way his adrenaline sings for him to crush you against his ribs, to kiss you like he’s pouring every unsaid vow into your lungs. But he hesitates, fingers twitching against your collarbone. Still afraid, still fragile.
“I’m okay, Finn. I promise.” A smile ghosts his lips, but his next words are barely audible. “Everybody’s watching.” He doesn’t need to say anything else. You remember the first oath you ever swore to each other: Don’t let them in. Don’t let them twist this. Your relationship was never just yours—it was a stage play for all of Panem, a performance where even you sometimes forgot where the script ended and the truth began.
Yet here he is, clinging to another promise—the one where he swore to shield you, even from himself. You see it in the way his jaw tightens, the way his hands hover like he’s afraid touch might shatter the illusion of control. He’s trying so damn hard to be what you need: steady, selfless, safe. But the irony is delicious. His restraint is the proof you crave. It screams what the cameras will never understand—that this, right here, is the most real thing either of you has ever had. So you tilt your chin up, your voice a challenge and a dare as you scan his face: “Then let’s give them something to look at.”
Your words are another whisper, so quiet you fear they might dissolve before they reach him—but then his head snaps up, his gaze scouring your face like a man reading a map in the dark. And then he breaks. He lunges forward, lips crashing into yours with a desperation that steals your breath. It’s overwhelming, it's perfect, the familiarity of his mouth against yours is everything you had been craving since you last saw him. You kiss him back like it’s the only language left to you, pouring every unsaid ‘I love you’ into the press of your lips. His touch is featherlight yet feverish, hands tracing your arms, your spine, as if trying to memorise you through his fingertips. And in this fragile bubble of shared breath and tangled limbs, you find it—the truth you’ve been starving for.
Finnick kisses like it’s his salvation. His teeth catch your lower lip, tugging gently, insatiable, while his arm bands around your waist, hauling you flush against him until not even air separates you. You feel the frantic thudding of his heartbeat where your chest meets his, a wild counterpoint to your own. When he groans into your mouth, it’s a sound you want to bottle. It’s not enough. Even now, with his skin against yours and his pulse thundering under your palms, you’re already aching for more—more of him, more of this, more of the way he makes the world vanish.
A very deliberate cough shatters the daydream you’d been lost in, and the two of you spring apart like kids caught making out behind the gym. “You two never fail to disgust me.” Johanna’s voice is flat, devoid of even her trademark sarcasm, and the heat that floods your cheeks is embarrassingly familiar. “If you’re done trying to swallow each other’s faces, we’ve got shit to do.”
Finnick snaps back to reality first, hauling himself upright before pulling you up with him. His hands linger, like he needs the contact to convince himself you’re really here. Johanna rolls her eyes so hard it’s a miracle they don’t stick, already stalking back toward the clearing—but not before you catch her gaze flickering over you, her lips twitching like she’s fighting a smile. Of course she cares, she's the one who introduced the two of you to begin with.
“I think she might actually be glad I’m not dead.” You murmur, and his laughter is warm against your ear. The sound settles something in your chest, a reminder: You’re here. You’re together. Maybe, against all odds, things will be okay.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” he jokes back. “She’s just relieved she won’t have to suffer through my moping anymore.” The lightness in his grin tells you everything—he’s found his footing again. And so have you. But as Finnick’s thumb brushes your wrist, you both hear it: another cannon in the distance. The Games aren’t over yet.

“You know what, Shoko?” you slurred, swirling the liquid in your glass before taking another sip. “He doesn’t even deserve me.”
A few hours ago, you walked in on Sukuna with another girl in your bed. Now, you’re at a bar with your best friend, Shoko, trying to drown the memory.
Shoko sat across from you, arms folded on the sticky bar table. Her eyes narrowed. “Damn right he doesn’t.” She reached for her drink, taking a long swig before slamming the glass down. “You should’ve punch him when you saw him. Or — oh! You know what we should do? We should egg his house.” Her face lit up with the idea, leaning closer. “Or maybe… we can beat the living shit out of him.”
You blinked at her, a little stunned. “Shoko…”
“What?” She shrugged, taking another drink. “He deserves it.”
You laughed dryly, shaking your head. “It’s not worth it.” Your fingers traced the rim of your glass, eyes dropping to the table. “I just… I really thought I was going to marry him, you know?” The words came out softer, almost like a confession.
Shoko’s face softened. She reached over, resting her hand over yours. “I know.”
You sighed, taking another sip, the burn sliding down your throat. “How did I not see it? I walked into my own room and there he was… with her. On my bed.” You squeezed your eyes shut, the image flashing behind your eyelids. “God, I’m so stupid.”
“Hey.” Shoko squeezed your hand. “You’re not stupid. He’s just an asshole.”
You let out a shaky breath, leaning back in your seat. The music pounded through the speakers, but all you could feel was the ache in your chest. “Yeah,” you whispered. “An asshole.”
“You know what? Where can you go to forget all your troubles and make bad decisions?” Shoko asked, swirling her drink.
“Don’t say Vegas.” You rolled your eyes. She’d been begging you to go for the past month, but Sukuna said you couldn’t go. He was strict, always keeping you on a leash, making sure you never had too much fun.
“Vegas,” Shoko repeated, grinning.
You sighed, biting your lip. “I don’t know… what if I just end up thinking about him the whole time?”
“That’s what the drinks are for.” She took a sip and set her glass back down with a soft clink.
Shoko leaned in, eyes softening. “Babe, I know you’re going through a hard time right now. That’s why we’re going to Vegas. It’ll be a distraction. It’ll be fun. Besides, you deserve a break. Three years with Sukuna? that sounds like living hell.”
You hesitated. She wasn’t wrong. You were always asking permission, feeling more like a prisoner than a girlfriend. Maybe this was exactly what you needed.
“Okay,” you mumbled, nodding slowly. “Okay, fine. But I’m not trying to do anything stupid.”
Shoko smirked. “It’s Vegas, babe. We’ll deal with the consequences when we get back.”
You exhaled, feeling the tiniest flicker of relief. Maybe this was a good idea. Maybe, for once, you deserved to let go.
Tumblr media
The moment you stepped out of the cab and onto the Strip, your mouth practically fell open. The lights were brighter than you imagined, stretching high into the sky, flashing and glowing in every color. The streets were alive, packed with people laughing, drinking, and stumbling from one casino to the next. Music thumped from somewhere nearby, and the air smelled like heat, excitement, and a little bit of regret.
“Wow…” you whispered, turning in a slow circle to take it all in. “Why haven’t I come here sooner?”
“Gee, I don’t know,” Shoko said dryly, dragging her suitcase behind her. “Maybe because you were too far up Sukuna’s ass to do anything fun.”
You shot her a glare. “Real nice.”
“Just saying.” She shrugged, smirking. “If you hadn’t spent the last three years playing house with Mr. ‘You Can’t Breathe Without Me Watching,’ we could’ve been making bad decisions here ages ago.”
You sighed, but a small smile crept onto your face. She wasn’t wrong. For the first time in a long time, you felt… free.
“Come on,” Shoko said, linking her arm with yours. “Let’s check in, get dressed, and let’s have fun.”
The hotel lobby was super busy. People were everywhere — talking, laughing, and dragging their suitcases across the shiny marble floor. The ceiling was really high, and there were these giant chandeliers that sparkled. You followed Shoko to the check-in desk, trying to take it all in.
Shoko tapped the little bell on the counter, sighing loudly. “Ugh, finally. My feet are killing me.”
While she dealt with the receptionist, you looked around. There was a bar in the corner, and you could hear the sound of slot machines somewhere in the background. Then, you noticed a group of guys standing near the lounge.
They stood out.
One of them had long black hair, leaning against a pillar with his arms crossed, looking bored. Another guy, taller and super muscular, had a scar on his lip and was sipping a drink while watching people walk by. But the one in the middle… he caught your attention.
He had white hair — like, really white — and the brightest blue eyes you’d ever seen. They almost glowed under the lights. He was tall and lean, dressed pretty casually, but something about him made it hard to look away. He laughed at something one of his friends said.
Then, as if he could feel you staring, he turned his head.
His blue eyes locked onto yours, sharp and curious. For a second, it felt like time slowed down. The noise of the lobby faded, and all you could hear was the pounding of your heart in your ears. He tilted his head slightly, a small smirk curling at the corner of his lips.
You blinked, heat rushing to your cheeks, and quickly looked away. What the heck was that?
“Come on.” Shoko grabbed your wrist, pulling you toward the elevator. “Room first, drinks second.”
You risked one last glance as the elevator doors slid shut. The white-haired guy was still watching you, his smirk growing before he turned back to his friends.
As the elevator went up, you leaned against the wall, heart racing. It was probably nothing. Just some random guy.
But for some reason, you had a weird feeling you’d be seeing him again.
The elevator doors slid open, and you followed Shoko down a long, carpeted hallway. The walls had fancy gold trim, and the lights were soft and warm. When you reached your room, Shoko swiped the key card, pushing the door open dramatically.
“Ta-da!” she announced, stepping inside.
You dragged your suitcase in and looked around. The room was huge — two big beds with fluffy white blankets, a flat-screen TV, and a massive window that showed off the bright lights of the city. You wandered over, pressing your hands against the glass, staring down at the endless crowd of people and glowing signs.
Shoko flopped onto one of the beds, stretching out like a starfish. “Do you have any idea how much money I spent on this?” she asked, grinning over at you.
You turned and gave her a look. “Shoko, how much?”
Shoko had been kind enough to pay for the trip. Of course, you offered to split the cost, but she insisted—something about ‘wanting to be reckless with her money for once.’
She just shrugged casually. “Does it really matter? What matters is that you’re having fun today. We’re in Vegas, and we’re going to make sure you forget all about that idiot Sukuna.” She paused, then her eyes lit up. “And maybe we can find a sexy man for you tonight.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Really? Vegas men? You do realize those guys don’t want to commit, right?”
Shoko waved her hand dismissively, sitting up on the bed. “Please, babe. It’s Vegas. They’re here for fun, and so are we. Who cares if it’s not forever? You just need someone to take your mind off things.”
You sighed but couldn’t help the small smile creeping onto your face. “I guess you’re right.”
Shoko grabbed a bottle of water from the mini-fridge, cracking it open and offering it to you. “Exactly. Now, drink up, get dressed, and let’s hit the club. We’ve got a whole night of bad decisions ahead.”
You opened your suitcase, only to find a bunch of skimpy outfits neatly folded inside. You frowned, realizing with a sinking feeling that none of this was your doing. It was all Shoko’s idea of “fun.”
“What the hell, Shoko?” you muttered under your breath, pulling out a tight red dress with way too many straps.
As Shoko rummaged through her own things, oblivious to your mild panic, you started thinking. You hadn’t been out in so long. You were 23, still so young, but somehow, it felt like you missed out on so much. The last three years had been consumed by your relationship with Sukuna.
You and Shoko used to have so much fun back in high school — sneaking into parties, drinking. But ever since you met Sukuna, everything changed. He hated you going out, hated you having fun without him. He was too controlling, convinced you couldn’t be trusted to do anything on your own. You tried to argue, tried to explain that you were independent, but he always found a way to make you feel guilty.
You looked over at Shoko, who was already slipping into something that probably cost way too much, and realized how lucky you were to have her by your side. She’s the one who is helping you forget about him, even if just for a night. She always had your back, even when Sukuna tried to convince you that no one else could ever understand you like he did.
“Ready to party?” Shoko called over her shoulder, catching your eye as she twirled around.
You smiled, feeling a weight lift off your chest. “Yeah, let’s do this.”
Tumblr media
You and Shoko finally arrived at the club, the music growing louder the closer you got to the entrance. The neon lights flashing from the outside made everything feel electric. You couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement as the bouncer waved you both in, barely even checking your IDs.
Once inside, the place was packed with people moving to the beat, colorful lights flashing from every corner of the club. The bass thumped deep in your chest, vibrating through your body. It felt like a whole new world compared to the quiet, controlled life you’d been living with Sukuna.
Shoko immediately pulled you toward the bar, practically dragging you through the crowd of people. The bartender, a guy with slicked-back hair and a black apron, gave you a smile as you both hopped onto the bar stools.
“What are we drinking tonight?” he asked, his voice barely audible over the music.
Shoko smiled and leaned in a little too close to the bar. “Two of whatever’s strongest.”
The bartender nodded and quickly got to work, mixing the drinks with practiced ease. As he slid them over to you, you took a sip of the strong cocktail, the burn warming your throat. You cringed at the taste, but it was a good kind of burn. The alcohol hit you almost immediately.
Shoko was talking to the bartender, but your attention drifted. You glanced around, trying to get used to the neon lights and the crowd, and then you spotted him across the bar.
It was him. The guy from the hotel lobby.
For a second, you totally forgot how to breathe. He was leaning against the wall, somehow looking like a model without even trying. His white button-up was unbuttoned at the top, showing just enough of his chest to make your face heat up. The sleeves were rolled up, showing off his forearms, and he wore this silver chain that somehow made him look even hotter. His dark jeans fit really well, and the way he stood, all relaxed and confident, made it hard not to stare. Then his eyes met yours, and it felt like the whole room faded for a moment. He held your gaze a little too long before looking away, and you had to remind yourself to blink.
You turned your head, feeling a flush creep up your neck.
Shoko, always noticing everything, leaned over to look at where you’d been staring. Her eyes lit up when she saw him.
“Oh, he’s cute,” she said, her voice almost teasing.
You couldn’t help but bite your lip. “Stop,” you said, trying to brush it off.
Shoko wasn’t having it. “What? He is cute. And I don’t know, he looks like he’s into you.”
You glanced over at him again, but this time, your eyes locked. You quickly looked away, your heart racing just a little faster.
Shoko raised an eyebrow, amused. “He’s totally checking you out.”
You shook your head, but the grin on Shoko’s face told you she wasn’t going to let it go.
“Don’t freak out, but I think he’s coming over here,” Shoko said, her eyes glued to the guy across the room.
You whipped your head around to look at her, your eyes wide. “What do you mean he’s coming over here?!”
Shoko leaned forward slightly, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “I mean he’s literally walking with his two legs over here. Wait, hold up, a girl just stopped him.” She paused, watching the scene unfold across the bar.
You stared at her, confused. “What? What’s happening?”
Shoko squinted, still watching him. “Oh, wait, never mind. He’s coming back, and—oh no, his friends are following him too.”
Your brows furrowed, trying to make sense of the situation. “What are you even talking about?”
Shoko, now looking entirely too pleased with herself, glanced over at you. “Relax. He’s coming over. Just… breathe.”
You shook your head, panic rising. “Shoko, what do I do? Oh my god, I think I’m gonna throw up.” You took another gulp of your drink, chugging it down in a desperate attempt to calm your nerves. You’d never done anything like this before. Your whole life had been spent with Sukuna, and you hadn’t exactly gotten a lot of practice with normal, everyday interactions.
Shoko gave you a playful shove. “You’re gonna be fine. Just be cool. He’s just a guy, right? Don’t overthink it.”
Before you could even reply to Shoko, you heard a deep voice from behind you.
“Hello.”
You froze, your eyes wide as you looked at Shoko, who was staring at you with a teasing grin, then at the guy behind you. You slowly turned around, and there he was — the same man from the hotel lobby. He stood taller than you expected, towering over you as you sat at the bar.
You gulped, trying to compose yourself. He was even more hotter up close. His features were sharp, and those intense blue eyes seemed to lock onto yours, scanning you from head to toe. You felt a flutter in your chest as he smirked, his gaze lingering just a little too long.
“Well, you look even better up close,” he said, his voice smooth and teasing. His grin was playful, but there was a sharp edge to it. “I’m starting to think I’m the lucky one tonight.”
Behind him, you noticed his friends were watching, clearly enjoying the scene unfolding before them.
You were completely caught off guard. Was this really happening? This wasn’t how your night was supposed to go. You opened your mouth to say something, but no words came out at first.
Shoko, always ready to tease you, couldn’t help but smirk. “Oh, you two already know each other, huh?”
He chuckled, glancing over at Shoko with a sly look. “Not yet, but I’m sure we’ll become great friends.” His eyes flicked back to you. “Right, sweetheart?”
You felt your heart race, but you rolled your eyes to play it cool, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of seeing how flustered you were. “Really? Is this how you greet every girl you meet?”
His smirk widened, and he leaned a little closer, his breath warm against your ear as he spoke. “Only the ones I think are worth my time. And right now, you’re definitely making the list.” He gave you a wink, causing a mix of excitement and discomfort to swirl in your stomach.
You sat there, trying to play it cool despite the way his intense gaze made your heart beat faster. Before you could say anything else, he spoke up again.
“Let me buy you a drink,” he said, his tone more casual, like it was the easiest thing in the world to offer.
You shook your head lightly, glancing over at Shoko, who raised an eyebrow and shot you a knowing side-eye. “No thank you,” you said, trying to sound firm. “We were actually just leaving.”
His eyes sparkled with amusement as he took a step closer, his body language relaxed, almost too confident. “Really?” he asked, his voice teasing. “Seems like you two just got here.”
You opened your mouth to reply, but before you could get a word out, he interrupted you. “Just one drink. I promise you, it’ll be worth your time.”
Shoko, still sitting beside you, seemed entertained by the back-and-forth. She glanced at you, her expression clearly saying you’re not gonna turn him down, are you?
You bit your lip, feeling torn. You weren’t exactly in the mood to indulge in this whole situation, but something about his persistent grin made you hesitate.
“Fine,” you said, trying to hide the smile tugging at the corners of your lips. “One drink. But that’s it.”
He grin stretched wider, clearly pleased by your decision. “That’s all I need,” he said.
Tumblr media
The last thing you remembered was you and the white-haired man talking. But somehow, one drink turned into five, stumbling back to his hotel room, tearing each other’s clothes off., and now… now you were sitting up in an unfamiliar hotel room, the sunlight streaming in through the blinds, your naked body wrapped in the blankets.
Your head pounded, your mouth felt like a desert, and there was something strange on your left hand.
Blinking, you stared at the shiny ring on your finger. It was real, wasn’t it?
“Wait…” you muttered, trying to recall anything about the night. “What the hell happened?”
You turned, half expecting to see your friend Shoko beside you, but instead, you saw the tall, white-haired stranger sprawled across the bed.
His piercing blue eyes stared right at you, head propped up on one arm as he gave you a lazy grin.
“Good morning, wifey,” he drawled.
You both stared at each other in silence.
Then you screamed. Loudly.
“Ah, geez, tone it down, will you?” he groaned, covering his ears as you scrambled to grab the sheets, wrapping them tightly around your body. You practically fell out of bed, heart racing a mile a minute.
“What… oh my god.” Your eyes darted around the room in panic, then back to him. Your gaze dropped to his bare chest, the blanket barely covering half his naked body. That’s when you saw his hand — and the ring on his finger.
“Did we…?” you whispered, voice trembling.
“Did we what?” he teased, wiggling his fingers at you. “Get married? Looks like we did, sweetheart.”
You froze, staring at him in disbelief. “No. No, no, no, no. There’s no way.” Your heart pounded in your chest as you tried to piece together the foggy memories of last night. “I mean, I don’t even know your name! What is your name?!”
He smirked. “Wow, I’m hurt. You were screaming it last night.” He sat up, running a hand through his messy white hair. “It’s Satoru Gojo.”
Your head spun. “Oh my god, this isn’t happening.” You buried your face in your hands. “This was supposed to be a fun trip, and now… now I’m married to a complete stranger!”
Satoru chuckled, clearly amused by your meltdown. “Well, technically, I’m not a stranger anymore.” He leaned back against the headboard, watching you with that infuriating grin. “If it makes you feel better, I’m pretty sure it was your idea.”
“My idea?!” You glared at him, eyes wide with disbelief. “There is no way I’d agree to something like this!”
“Well,” he shrugged, “you seemed pretty into it last night. Even called me ‘hubby’ a couple of times.”
You groaned, sinking to the floor as the weight of the situation hit you like a train. What had you done? You tugged the sheets tighter around you, gripping the fabric like it was the only thing holding you together.
“No. No way.” You squeezed your eyes shut, hoping that when you opened them, this would all be some ridiculous nightmare.
But when you opened your eyes, Satoru was still there, lounging in bed without a care in the world. His blue eyes sparkled with amusement as he watched you unravel. You ran a hand down your face, glancing around the room. Clothes were scattered across the floor, empty bottles on the nightstand, and the faint smell of alcohol still lingered in the air. The hotel room was definitely nicer than you expected — sleek furniture, massive bed, and a window view that overlooked the bright Las Vegas strip.
“You okay down there?” he asked, voice dripping with fake concern. “You look a little pale. Maybe you should lie down. Or better yet, we could cuddle. You know… husband and wife bonding time.”
You shot him a glare. “Don’t. Even. Start.”
He raised his hands in surrender, though the smirk never left his face. “Hey, just trying to be supportive.”
You ignored him, your heart racing as you stared at the ring on your finger. You tugged at it, twisting and pulling, but it wouldn’t budge. “Oh, come on!” you hissed, yanking harder.
“You’re gonna rip your finger off.”
“I’d rather lose a finger than stay married to you!” you snapped, still struggling with the ring.
“Ouch,” he said, clutching his chest dramatically. “You really know how to wound a guy.”
You finally stopped, breathless and frustrated, letting your hands fall into your lap. “This isn’t happening. It can’t be happening.”
Satoru stretched, the sheets slipping lower on his hips, and you quickly averted your gaze. “Well,” he said casually, “unless we both had the exact same hallucination and these rings magically appeared on our fingers… I’d say it definitely happened.”
You buried your face in your hands, groaning again. “I’m gonna be sick.”
“Hey, at least we’ve got a great story,” he said, grinning. “Not everyone can say they got married in Vegas to a total stranger.”
You glared at him. “I don’t want a story. I want a time machine.”
He chuckled, leaning back against the pillows. “Sorry, sweetheart. No time machines here. But hey… at least you married someone hot.”
You ignored him, your brain starting to work through the haze of last night. Then it hit you. “Shoko.”
You scrambled to your feet, sheets still wrapped around you, frantically looking for your clothes. Satoru propped himself up on one elbow, watching you with blatant interest. “In a rush, wifey?” he teased, his eyes lazily trailing down your body. “You’re not trying to sneak out on me, are you?”
You spotted your bra hanging off the lamp and snatched it quickly, cheeks burning. He watched you with a lazy smirk, eyes following your every move. Turning your back to him, you dropped the sheets and hurried to hook it on, feeling the weight of his gaze like a physical touch.
“Wow,” Satoru whistled lowly. “Didn’t know I’d get a private show this morning. If I’d known marriage came with perks like this, I would’ve settled down ages ago.”
“Could you not?” you snapped, fumbling with the clasp. Your hands were shaking, whether from embarrassment or rage, you weren’t sure.
“Hey, don’t blame me,” he said, chuckling softly. “Hard not to look when my wife is putting on a show.”
Your face burned. Yanking on your underwear, you grabbed your dress and tugged it over your head, the fabric sliding down your body as you adjusted it into place. You whirled around, glaring at him. “Do you ever stop talking?”
“Not when I’m this entertained.” He flashed you a grin, resting his chin in his hand as his eyes roamed over you once more. “Gotta say, though… you look just as good putting your clothes on as you did taking them off.”
You huffed, crossing your arms over your chest. “Do you ever get tired of hearing yourself talk?”
“Never.” He smirked. “But if you want to shut me up, you can just kissed me again.”
You groaned, ignoring his teasing as you spotted your phone half-buried under a pile of clothes. Snatching it up, the screen lit with countless missed calls and texts from Shoko. Heart racing, you unlocked it and scrolled through the messages.
Shoko: OMG I JUST WOKE UP WTF HAPPENED LAST NIGHT
Shoko: WHY AM I IN SOME DUDE’S ROOM??
Shoko: tell me you actually didn’t marry that guy…
Shoko: CALL ME RIGHT NOW.
Before you could reply, Satoru who is now fully clothed, peeked over your shoulder, reading the messages. “Aw, looks like your friend had a good time too.” He grinned. “One of my buddies must’ve kept her company.”
You shot him another glare. “Can you be serious for five seconds?”
“Depends. Can you stop looking so cute when you’re angry?”
You let out a frustrated groan, flopping back onto the bed and covering your face with a pillow. This was officially the worst morning of your life.

weird but fucking beautiful
Tumblr media
tags: fluff/kinda comfort, established relationship, holy shit i love sae itoshi, based on snow on the beach.
a/n: hi yang i hope you enjoy :3 meant to finish this a while ago but Things Happen. to my other anon requests ILL GET TO YOU I THINK IM SORRY ITS BEEN MONTHS AND MONTHS
------------------------------------------------
the beach is cold in the evenings.
real surprise, you think. 6pm on a january night, with suspicious looking clouds staining the skies- of course it's cold.
you fight back a shiver, cursing your previous decision to forego a jacket. still, you step closer to where the sand begins, eyes locked on a half-shadowed form some distance away.
sae itoshi's back is hard to miss.
he sits on a rocky ledge dividing the boardwalk from the beach, leaning ever so slightly forward. his eyes are glued to the dark waters, the sun just barely peeking out from the horizon.
he's beautiful. he looks sad.
"sae," you call out, only a few steps away now.
he stiffens and relaxes in the same moment, shoulders tensing and sinking. "y/n." he says, quietly.
you stop, just barely behind him. you hesitate over your words, uncertain.
"are you okay?" you decide on.
sae turns ever so slightly to shoot you a look, raising one brow in his classic contempt. "come here," he says drily, not responding to your question.
you find it hard to say no. you bite your lip though, still a little hesitant, as you step over the ledge to sit next to him.
almost instinctively, he leans into you, and you feel yourself relax at the familiar warmth.
the two of you sit there. you want to ask him something, ask him why he was sitting at the beach on a winter sunset, why there was a cloudiness behind his eyes.
but you can't bring yourself to.
so you don't. instead, you reach over into his lap, brushing your fingers over his clasped hands. he concedes, unraveling his fingers to hold onto yours instead.
sae's hands run cold. still, there's a familiar comfort to it, his palms still soft despite the harshness of his life. (something to due with his expensive moisturizers, you suspect- but still.)
you squeeze his hand. after a pause, he squeezes back.
your breaths leave white clouds in the sky.
when the sun has long sunk fully below the waves, you shift. you're hesitant to break this silence, but a part of you thinks you need to.
"sae," you whisper, turning to face him. "it's late."
he doesn't get up. instead, he juts his chin away. "shh."
you look away from his tired eyes, and something cold hits your face.
snow slowly flutters down from the heavy clouds above, perfectly white in the dark of the night. you suck in breath of shock-
before you even realize, you're climbing to your feet, childishly holding out your hands to catch the drifting flakes. they melt in your hands, pinpricks of ice on your palms.
you step onto the sand, marveling at the sight. as if a switch had been turned on, the snow falls faster, some disappearing into the dark waters of the ocean and the rest falling atop of the sand.
"i've never seen it snow on the beach!" the words tumble out of your mouth, suddenly giddy. you turn towards your boyfriend. "you-"
your words falter.
sae isn't looking at the snow. his eyes are on you.
you can see the fatigue weighing them down, darkening the turquoise. but it's hard to spot- a pure adoration covers the exhaustion.
his eyes flit over every detail of your face, ever-calculating, and you feel increasingly bare at the sheer intensity of it.
he drinks the sight of you in like nothing else matters. the snow doesn't do anything to chill the warmth blooming in your cheeks, your stomach.
"sae," you manage to get out.
he raises an eyebrow. snow drifts onto his face, a flake landing in his eyelashes before he blinks it away.
"i- it's late."
he nods. his eyes don't ever leave yours. his lips part. you shiver.
you step towards him again. he rises to his feet.
snow falls on the beach. and the two of you stay.

royal knight!caleb & princess!reader.
cw ━━ ! minors, ageless, and blank blogs DO NOT INTERACT. reader is written / portrayed as a curvy, thick black woman but you do not have to imagine it that way ! anyone and everyone is welcome to read <3. historical / medieval au so there will be use of language & rhetoric relative to that era ( i.e., aye = yes or indeed . . . . i did my best doing research ). caleb is a high ranking knight in the kingdom they live in and is referred to as 'sir' because of his status. reader is a princess of royal status. mentions / descriptions of blood and injuries, and contains violence sprinkled with a little bit of gore (???). depictions of murder / character death. a liiittleeee bit of religious imagery & references, not sure but adding it just in case. hints at caleb having psychological issues and / or mental instability. kind of yandere(ish) behavior if you squint; caleb is obsessed with & in love with the reader. he is also a wee bit condescending ( not to reader ). instances of caressing ( groping? ) and slow, sweet kisses. veryyy subtle manipulation (?) via intentional omission of the truth. sorry if im exaggerating with these tags lol. directly based off this post i saw a few weeks ago. i tried my best to proofread at 1am pls excuse any errors. let me know if i missed anything!
word count ━━ ! 3.9k

THE SKY REMAINED DARK, BUT a deep navy hue began to seep into the heavens, soon giving way to the dawn; the early hours of the morning was nigh. The castle was silent— obviously, but still eerily so despite the hour. There was a draft that seeped through the miscellaneous cracks of the stone, the shutters, and the windows of the castle that had not been properly shut, and the brisk breeze that flowed inside caressed the walls with a whisper— quiet but forceful enough to sway the small flames of the candles. The unsteady flickering of the flames grazed and dimly illuminated the walls behind them. Upon its surface were fresh stains, which would permanently seep into the stone if not cleaned in time. The stains were red.
It was blood.
In the many corridors of the castle was a figure, trudging through the halls like a corpse that had risen from its resting place, exhaustion weighing down his every step down to the marrow of his bones. He was injured— not gravely enough to make him lose consciousness but enough to reopen the wounds he so haphazardly patched himself before returning to the kingdom.
His chambers in the keep, along with all the other higher-ranked Knights, was on the other side of the castle grounds. He should have made a left the moment the portcullis closed behind his heels so he could at least get patched up again, get some water, and something else for the pain. Instead, the soldier walked straight ahead, onward to the main structure of the castle, down the stretches of its veins, up the stairs– a path he had memorized after spending many a moon traversing it, sometimes without your knowledge.
But he needed to see you, and he was unsure if he would be able to wait until the sun’s ascension in just a few hours time to do so.
The knight was tired, and that slowed him down, but eventually he made it to your private quarters. He made sure to quiet his labored breathing and footsteps as much as he could; the king would have his head before he even made it to your chambers if he were to be discovered.
You laid underneath a thick blanket, the warmth of the fur against your clothed skin protecting you against the brisk cold. As comfortable as you were, however, tonight you had trouble staying asleep. It would greet you kindly, only to slip away from your embrace if you held it too tightly. Your eyelids were half-open, finally on the verge of drifting close again, when an abrupt but muffled thumping noise resounded on the wood of your door.
The sound caused your eyes to snap open with alertness, any waves of sleep that were about to wash over you retreated at the sound. You laid still, absently wondering if you were hearing things, but the noise reverberated in the air again, then three times— it was soft, as if the source of the sound was being careful not to be too loud.
As the sleepiness of the late hours continued to melt away, you began to remember what day it was, and your pulse quickened as a result.
He should have returned today, you thought. But could it be? It cannot possibly…
And yet, that possibility is what tugged your body forward to sit up and straight, and slide your legs out from underneath the layers of blankets. That possibility is what led you to slide your bare feet into your slippers, and move to swing the long, woolen robe on top of your nightgown. That possibility is what pulled you to the thick door of your chambers, and opened it by an inch to peek through the cracks.
The relief and subdued elation you felt when you saw the familiar features of Sir Caleb’s visage on the other side washed over you.
But that feeling faded as quickly as it came when you noticed the state Sir Caleb was in. While it wasn’t abnormal for him to have a deep scratch or a bruise somewhere, he looked . . . worse, somehow. And whatever it was seemed to reach deeper than just his physical injuries.
Without exchanging any words or outwardly questioning him, you carefully— for he winced at nearly every graze of your fingers on certain areas— led him into your room, allowing him to use your body as a crutch. Caleb let out strained puffs of air, both in relief that he didn’t have to carry the weight of his own body alone anymore, and with increasingly dwindling self-restraint.
He had hardly stepped foot in your bedchambers before; only about four steps past the threshold of the doorway at most, out of fear that his mere presence when he visited in your absence would become a noticeable, tangible thing. Like you’d be able to sense if he ventured too far in for too long, too many times.
Everything smelled like you. Your unique flowery scent was almost palpable with how it clung to every surface of your living space, even the air itself. The contrast between the fleshy softness of your body pressed against the cold, angular ridges of his armor was enough to make his breath catch in his throat and his pulse to miss a beat.
“M…milady.” Caleb croaked, his throat significantly lacking moisture to the point it almost ached to speak. At this point, the remaining strength in the knight’s body had become completely nonexistent; the sword he didn’t even have the strength to place back in its scabbard tumbled from his loosening grip onto the ground, the sound sharp and uncomfortably punctating.
“Sir Caleb”, you gasped, your grip tightening on whatever area of his stocky, towering figure you could reach. Both the suddenness of the sound of metal colliding with stone and your delayed realization of how serious his injuries were pulled your nerves all the more taut, the worried furrow in your brow growing more prominent.
Caleb’s legs gave out next, all while his heavier form still partially hung from your sleep laden frame. His arm slipped from around your shoulder as he descended to his knees, the movement clumsy enough to slightly throw you off your balance. The room was still dark enough that you did not readily see nor notice the blood that now permeated the folds of your nightdress.
The honorable knight— who did not quite look so on his knees like this— absentmindedly grasped at your calves, pulling another surprised noise from the back of your throat. It was as if making physical contact with you would steady his mind that swirled endlessly with fragmented thoughts, stained with the dark horrors that crawled from the depths of his subconscious, and keep him tethered to the plane of consciousness. The blood loss would soon catch up to him.
Silence descended upon your room, save for Caleb’s ragged breathing and your quiet, frayed inhales. He still held onto your lower legs like it was his lifeline, the mesh underside of his metal gauntlets sending a subtle shiver with each miniscule movement he made, but you did your best to silence any hitch in your breath or twitch in your muscles. Worry still festered underneath your skin, so much so that you were afraid if you moved, or even spoke, that Caleb might fall apart at your feet, considering his current state.
“Milady…” Caleb tried again, his voice still rough but a muted veneration was present underneath his words, as if your title was the beginning of a prayer. It was a thought that spurred another shudder to crawl across your flesh. “Milady, I have returned. The war with the kingdom to the east—Havencroft—  is over now.”
The knight turned his head slightly so that his cheek was resting on the fat of your thigh, your nightdress being the only barrier between his skin and yours. Another stain of crimson leapt from the side of his face that rested on your leg to your clothes, but you could not see it from this angle. Caleb almost resembled a wounded animal, marking the territory that was once his after enduring an attack– not much for your sake, but purely for his own, as a reminder of sorts.
Even through the linen, you could feel the uneven puffs of warm air from his mouth fan across that small area on your thigh. Like a magnet attracted to a metal of the opposite affinity— a force yet to be explained or explored— your palm gravitated towards the knight’s armored shoulder. Whether it was an action of acknowledgement and commendation, to silently urge him off his knees, or as a means to steel yourself was unclear even to you.
“The enemies… have been defeated.” Each syllable felt delayed, each word tumbled from Caleb’s lips like a wispy trail of smoke from burning incense, and the casual hold you had on his steel shoulder imperceptibly tightened when you felt his gloved hands trail up the back of your legs. His movements were slow—almost reluctant and experimental— but deeply rooted in reverence, as if this was the first and last time he would be able to touch you so boldly.
The knight below knew better. He was well aware that his actions more than just bordered on bold, they fully reveled in it– embraced it, even. But he was having a significant amount of  trouble caring enough to stop himself. It was always a difficult task reasoning with the thing that resided in the folds of his unconscious— especially and specifically when it came to you.
Caleb awaited you to halt the soft caress of his palms, either verbally or by action, but neither came. You were rendered silent, breath slightly restrained as you stared down at him from on high, your palm still resting upon his armor. A part of you was swayed by the currents of curiosity to see what he’d do next, just to see what might happen you allowed this moment to persist a bit longer.
And the other part…might have enjoyed this. It might have enjoyed the sight, the sound, the sensation of his iron skin, the subtle yet unknown metallic aroma that washed over your senses, mixed with his signature musk.
So he resumed, both his movements and his speech, which were languid and slowed. “Those that wished… to do harm to the kingdom, to you…They have been slain.”
The way his head shifted against your leg was like a cat nuzzling itself against its human companion. The weight of his body pressed upon you like this was even a bit endearing, and it began to melt your heart. Caleb’s hands glided from the backs of your knees down to the base of your ankles, only to carefully ascend back up the valleys and shores of your legs. In his ascent the hem of your dress got caught in between the gaps of his fingers, causing it to steadily rise like a curtain and expose the bare, supple brown skin hiding beneath it.
His touch was so gentle, like dragging the sharpened edge of a knife against one’s skin in fear of accidentally cutting it. As someone who has done so much damage and has scarcely been shown this kind of gentleness, it was a bit jarring to see himself embody it so naturally.  “...The lot of them. I made sure of it.”, he continued, the knight’s noble heart raced so frantically about his chest, he thought it might reverberate and echo against his chest plate if it were to beat any more intensely.
Even with the sizable gauntlets weighing down his hands, Caleb was still able to tell just how delicate and cushiony your flesh was, and he released a barely-there, shaky exhale of his own when his fingers lightly clenched around it. If he didn’t know any better, he might have thought he was on the brink of death and was kneeling before the gates of heaven.
It was nearly impossible for you to distinguish the sensation of the carmine substance being smeared against your bare skin with each inch Caleb caressed, because your nerves had put all its effort into focusing on his breath fanning across your legs and the cold surface of his armor. At some point, the hand laying on his shoulder levitated to rest atop his head instead, the area unadorned without his helmet; a shiver rolled down the knight’s spine at the gesture. Sweat dampened the rich, umber strands of his hair, and the heat radiating from the crown of his head rivaled the one building underneath your face and chest.
“The army of the east kingdom, boasting numbers of over eight-thousand men, have all…. fallen. All of their strongest knights…”
Caleb’s words sounded a bit muffled as his mouth was slightly pressed against your leg, his pillowy lips continued to trail across the expanse of increasingly exposed limbs, “...their battalions, their village militia units…”
By this point, Caleb’s strong sense of rationale, his logical consciousness that usually never steered him wrong had finally caved in on itself. The void that it left in its absence would now be filled and controlled by the iniquitous thoughts that plagued him day in and day out. Such immoral, perhaps unhealthy, thoughts that always had you at the front and center of it all.
“...Even the gentry. Witnessing them …attempting to wield a polearm was almost pathetic. I would have pitied them, but one way or another, they would have attempted to harm you and our kingdom in some way, at some point…”
There was a brief pause, the surface of his parted lips and that of his artificial armor took turns savoring the feel and smell of you, even being so brash as to place tender almost-kisses across your thigh. You gasped silently at that, and the reflexive clench of your fingers in the tufts of his hair brought forth something of a purr that vibrated in the back of his throat. Embedded within that imperceptible purr in his deep voice lurked something more dangerous you did not notice— sharp, like having a dagger pressed against one’s jugular.
“And I cannot allow that.”
Caleb continued to murmur about his achievements of war into your chestnut-tinted skin as if he were talking directly into it and not you— as if it were actively listening. And with the way your nerves sparked and crackled with each syllable he pronounced, you could easily become convinced that it was.
Aye, he could not even pretend to spare an ounce of compassion for Havencroft’s  gentrymen, or their local militia, their skilled battalions and armies, nor their most honorable knights. Not after their plans and intentions were discussed amongst the king’s council just months prior, which served as the reason why he and the rest of the kingdom’s army were dispatched there in the first place.
Swine, the lot of them.
The same could be said for his own king’s council members— your father’s most trusted political companions and advisors— that had the gall to speak ill of and scheme against the king and his realm.
The balls to speak ill of you when they believed there were no listening ears around; about how your future ascent to the throne would be this kingdom’s downfall, about how His and Her Majesty should have tried for more children in hopes of a young lad.
He could only thank the gods that he returned from his knightly travels when he did, for the dark-haired soldier knew within seconds of overhearing such idiotic arrogance what his next course of action should be.
Like some kind of cunning animal whose only purpose was to hunt and kill, Sir Caleb watched and waited for the opportune moment to present itself before closing in to strike. And that moment arrived when he realized the two men were making their way to the western-most side of the main castle, where the kitchen and laundry rooms were located. He sneered at how clever they thought they were being, choosing that specific place because they were aware most of the help and servants had retired for the evening.
Without a moment’s hesitation, when he had heard enough drivel, he attacked, administering two swift but fatal slashes to their vital points— one for each man. The pain from moving like that when his injuries had been previously reopened nearly caused his legs to buckle, but he remained steady and quick. This had to be quick, for it would be troublesome if they made noise or if he was too sloppy with his timing and execution. Blood splattered on the nearby walls from the sheer force of his swing, the blade cutting through the councilmen like a cleaver cutting through a slab of tender meat. He made a note to himself to come back and clean any remnants that remained later.
The councilmen fell to their knees, staring and cowering from Sir Caleb in confusion, shock, and unadulterated fear at the realization that their lives might end that very night, and that someone might have heard them.
Surely they blathered on in hushed voices, demanding to know the meaning behind his actions, begging for the knight to spare their lives, frantically questioning him if he had heard them say anything particularly controversial. But Caleb paid no mind and did not bother responding. All he did was stare at them, his eyes as empty as a weathered piece of parchment with no ink on it, his salmon-colored lips resting in a straight line that spoke nothing of his true thoughts.
Caleb’s gaze alone deeply unsettled them, for they had never seen him look like that before.
On his honor as a knight, Caleb would die before he let any harm— relative or distant, real or perceived, indirect or direct— fall upon you if it was in his power to prevent it. Because not only did he pledge his allegiance to the ruler of this land, but to you as well. And in performing his obligatory duties as a knight— guarding you from near and far, being graced with your kindness, your wit, your smile—it was inevitable that he would fall in love with you at some point along the way.
And wasn’t it a good thing, a true virtuous thing, a normal thing to do what you can for the one they loved? To keep them safe?
And so, with that resolve embedded in his heart, the knight Sir Caleb would do what he could, and did what he must when the steel of his blade at last collided with the mens’ uvula. The last thing those so-called loyal councilmen saw was his void eyes, and the slightest upturn in the corner of his lip.
But you need not worry or be privy to the gritty details. All you needed to know was that he fulfilled his duty in protecting you, in protecting this kingdom you loved dearly and would govern someday. He would see through this role until the day he could no longer.
Aye, you did not need to know that the blood that had now seeped into the fabric of your pretty lilac nightgown and smudged on his face was fresh; you did not need to know that in some other part of this very castle, two people that had been around since your youth had drawn their last breath, never to be seen again; you did not need to know that the faintest hint of guilt and regret for his actions was snuffed out the moment his eyes met your visage. You did not even need to know of the tender affection that he harbored for you– at least, not yet. A separate time for that should arrive soon, he would pray on it.
And now, all Caleb needed was to hear it from you. That you were proud of him.
“I hope my efforts in battle were satisfactory to you, milady. That my efforts …in keeping your safety and interests of the monarchy at heart pleases you.”
The knight's lips continued to drag across your skin in a lackadaisical manner, its touch at some point turning into undeniable kisses— pecks so light and fleeting you could have imagined it.
But you weren’t. You knew it to be so because the phantom sensation that was left behind after each one was as real as the ground you stood upon.
You were indeed proud of the knight before you, on his knees revering you with his mouth like you were some kind of holy thing that might disappear into thin air. For all of his years here, you have seen the scrapes, the faded scars on his ungloved hands, a limp in his gait or a straggle in his step, and you felt sympathy for him. You sympathized with him for having to sustain a number of different injuries in the name of your kingdom and its values. But seeing him hurt also inspired a great deal of gratitude within you, and you always made sure to take time at night before you fell asleep to thank the Lord above for uniting your paths– even though the two of you were on slightly different social standings. You secretly hoped that one day, that fact might change.
This is why you had no problem in saying that, “From what you have told me, Sir Caleb, your endeavors in battle are indeed quite….satisfactory to me,” Your words were momentarily interrupted with a sound that sounded suspiciously close to a pleasurable sigh, your fingers absently combing through his hair as you continued to speak, “So I must thank you, for doing your duty so well, and apologize that you were so badly wounded in the name of this kingdom. I truly appreciate all that you do.”
The words of sincere gratitude that spilled from your plush lips only excited the muscle beating wildly in Caleb’s chest, and they were enough to spur his heavy hands to glide higher underneath your gown, moving to the backs of your thighs once again. As his lips persevered in its affectionate assault of your legs, his palms mindlessly cupped the full roundness of your buttocks and gave it a slight squeeze, effectively losing himself in the suppleness of your curved body.
His name, without the proper prefix, was about to fall from your tongue, but you swallowed it down in exchange for something else. “This kingdom is— I am quite fortunate to have someone so capable…so strong and valiant at our disposal. Thank you, Sir Caleb, you have done well.”
And that was all it took for a quiet groan to be pulled from Caleb’s throat. A part of him hoped you didn’t hear it, he was already behaving so shamelessly.
But another part hoped that you did, so maybe then you’d realize without him having to potentially embarrass himself how much he cared for you, craved you, and impacted him so deeply.
“Thank you, milady. You are too gracious to me. I am unworthy of your praises, but will humbly accept them.” One palm resumed its directionless roaming to map out your lower body while the other remained on buttocks, interrupting his own reply by offering your skin doting, airy kisses in between. His reddish violet eyes were somewhat hooded when his gaze flickered up to look at you once more.
“I will continue to do my utmost…to serve you and your kingdom.... to the best of my ability.”

“we should stop” trope with cheol
no smut, just suggestive MDNI
content tags: mutual friends to lovers (???sorta), cheol is a smoker (dont smoke..), reader is introverted, mentioned alcohol use, making out, being a bit freaky outside, cheol is hot
meeting your friends’ friends always had your introverted head reeling. “do i have to go?” you whine to jeonghan, one of your closest friends.
“no but you really should leave the house, y/n” he laughs. he was right. it was only a small get together at joshua’s (your other friend) apartment, it would only be a few other people, “you’ve met most of them anyways. plus you can stay with me and kyeomie as long as you want” he smiles at you as you finally agree to coming along.
surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as you had thought. even though it was getting tiring dokyeom pulling you to meet all the people you haven’t been introduced to before, it was manageable.
“oh! i almost forgot” dokyeom says, looking at you, “you need to meet, cheol” he grabs your arm again, walking you over to another person youve never seen before. “coupsie!”
you watch as the man dokyeom calls for turns around, red hair looking like fire around his head, arms looking oh so delicious in the black shirt he was wearing, and his lips; god his lips, looking cherry red like he had just bitten them so hard they bled. he looked so intimidating with a scowl on his face, until he looks at kyeom and pouts.
“i told you to stop calling me thatttt” he sulks, lip jutting out. he finally seems to notice your presence, raising his thick brow before speaking again, “is this your friend you were talking about?”
“im sorryyy, the name is so cute, cheol. but yea! this is y/n!” dokyeom introduces, your face heating up with nervousness at the redhead staring down at you.
“hi. nice to me you…” you murmur, extending your hand for a handshake. what you didn’t expect is for him to take it and pull you a little closer to him.
“sorry” he laughs, “what did you say.. its too loud in here” you repeat yourself, stuttering over your words, before he finally pulls away, hearing the complains from dokyeom about cheol ‘teasing his friend’. “I’m seungcheol by the way. most of my friends just call me cheol tho. i prefer that.” you smile again before dokyeom pulls you away again to meet someone else.
….
the rest of the night went by smoothly, and now you finally had the chance to slip away from all the noise and step outside for a breather after having a bit too much to drink. the summer breeze felt refreshing compared to the heat coming from the apartment you were just in and you could finally take a deep breath in, admiring the night sky.
“too many people in there for your tastes?” you jump at the sudden voice, turning to see the red haired man from earlier, “sorry! i didn’t mean to startle you. it’s too many people in there for me too, if that makes you feel better” he smiles at you, before turning back to face the sky, putting a lit cigarette to his lips and inhaling the smoke.
“you know thats bad for you, right?” you say, backtracking when you see his eyes widen and him beginning to burn it out, “no its fine! i dont mind.. sorry im bad at small talk” you look down at your fingers, playing with them, still feeling his eyes on you.
“you’re cute.” he laughs. he takes another inhale from the cigarette before sitting on the steps of the apartment building. “sit with me” he pats the concrete next to him, signaling you to come.
as you sit close to him, you can smell the mix of smoke and his cologne on his clothes, the scent of them seemingly driving you insane, the alcohol running through your body making you scoot even closer into him, as if to try and smother yourself in the fragrance. “you smell really good” you say without thinking, immediately burning hot in embarrassment at the reality of what you just said. he turns to you, laughing loudly.
“thank you, cutie.” he smiles, looking into your eyes, “and you look very pretty. thought that since dokyeom introduced me to you. was trying to get you alone but hannie was protecting you like a mama bear.” you laugh before his words sink into your brain.
“what- what did you want to do when you got me alone?” you question, eyes looking him up and down. you were beyond close to each other at this point, you had practically one leg draped over his thigh, and you could feel his hand on it, steadying you a bit.
“you know what i wanted to do.” he says, eyes shifting towards your lips before looking back into your own, “i can still do it now.. if you’d like.” you only murmur a faint ‘yea’ and his lips touch yours, hands cradling your head, pressing you closer and closer together.
your mind sobers up a bit, realizing that you were currently outside, in front of your friends house, kissing a guy you met barely an hour ago. “we. should. stop.” you breathe out inbetween kisses. you know you don’t want to stop but your left brain was screaming at you to think logically.
“we- can. stop. if you want” cheol slurs out, lips kissing the corner of yours, a smirk resting on them. the moment you shake your head, he pulls you onto his lap fully, having you straddle his thighs. “you’re so pretty..” he sighs out, lips gliding down your neck, sucking a few times, leaving marks in their wake. your hands rest in his fiery locks, combing your fingers through them every so often as he pulls whines out of your mouth.
“cheolie…” you sigh out, grinding lightly on his thigh, testing the waters. he groans at the sight, pulling you in for another kiss before- ring ring ringgg
“fuck-“ he groans looking down at his phone now long abandoned along with his burnt out cigarette you didnt even realize was gone, “its shua. hold on, pretty. yea. uhhuh? oh. oh okay- okay bye.” you try to listen in but your attempts were futile. he hangs up the calls, lowering his phone and putting his hands on your waist. “‘m sorry, pretty. soonyoung is currently um- puking his guts out in a bedroom.. i’ll spare the details, but i have to help shua clean the mess.” he sighs, looking at you with guilty eyes.
you look at him a bit disappointed but nod, slipping off his lap. “its fine, cheol. go deal with that.” you smile and he smiles back before kissing your lips wetly once again.
“give me your number first. just incase i don’t see you before you leave.” he shyly speaks again, opening his phone again for you to type in your number.
“alright, here” you say, finishing up your contact information. “text me whenever.. now go! there’s vomit for you to clean” you giggle as he stands up and rushes inside again.
finally standing up again yourself, your legs feel like jelly as you walk into the apartment again, spotting jeonghan and dokyeom on the couch. “hey” you say as you sit down next to them.
“oh my lord, we were wondering where you were.” jeonghan say before looking at your state and gasping, “you look a mess? who were you with??” dokyeom laughs as your face heats up again.
“n-no one..” you splutter, biting your lip remembering the man you were just with. they roll their eyes at you, whining at the lack of details you were spilling as a ping comes from your phone.
Unknown Number
Hey. This is Seungcheol.
Want a ride home?
you can hear your friends gasp, obviously reading your messages at the same time.
You
yea :) would love that <3
you send your response and jeonghan nudges you teasingly, “seriously, choi seungcheol? that loser??” all you do is smile dumbly, excited to see him once more.

_______________________________________________
ekko goes above and beyond treating you right.
anything you want, all yours. that new purse? check your mailbox. you need your nails done? here's $300, keep the change, don't worry about it. he always makes sure you're pleased, even if you don't ask. he knows everything about you by heart. favorite flowers, favorite foods, plus your usual orders, so it's not uncommon to come home to food on the table with a fresh vase of florals seated next to it.
of course, nothing about this relationship was ever one sided. there is no one who prances around announcing that ekko is your man quite like you do. you make sure ekko knows that if he ever needs you, no matter what, you're there.
in return, you get whatever you want.
"ekko," you sing, putting your phone down in the cup holder. your hand rests over ekko's, which has a gentle grip on your thigh. crickets chirp outside, veiled beneath the dark sky and lack of light. you're speeding down an empty backroad on your way back home from a little shopping spree at a mall an hour and some change away. "i wanna go somewhere."
he hums. "where were you thinking?"
"dunno yet," you lean your weight onto the center console, maybe somewhere in asia."
"yeah?" he asks, squeezing the fat of your thigh. you smile wide. "sure. let me know when you decide."
"i will, thanks baby," you chirp, gently pulling his hand up your thigh and closer to your center. his fingers catch on the hem, pushing your denim skirt up and gently pressing his thumb into your clit. he's rubbing featherlight circles into it, running over the lacy underwear he bought for you a while back. your gasp is barely heard beneath the music.
the engine whirrs, and you see the speedometer shoot up.
so impatient.
.:*☆
it truly didn't take long for ekko to book that flight. you said the place, and about 30 minutes later everything was set in stone.
excitement rushed through your body as you packed, making sure to tuck your matching sets beneath your clothes. he deserved some type of reward, right?
when you finally arrived at your hotel, late into the night, jet-lagged to all hell, you couldn't help but ask ekko if he needed some help. he did everything, all you did was walk around, complain about your feet hurting a bit, and cling to his arm. regardless, he insisted you worried about nothing and just got comfy for the night because he had something big planned tomorrow.
never would you have ever guessed that you'd end up on a cruiser yacht.
he had you blindfolded after you returned to the hotel from eating and shopping, promising that you'd love it and that you just needed to be patient and trust him. you did; no hesitation there.
and once he slipped it off after your minor freak-out wondering what you're stepping onto that has to be so wobbly, it took your breath away.
the sun sinks below the horizon, yellow rays glittering off of the water. your hands met his, perched on your hips, looking back to find his prideful grin.
"ekko..." you pout.
"iii know, i'm a great boyfriend, you love me, i know," he jokes, chuckling as you walk around the cockpit, marveling the fact that you're on one. "it'll leave soon, there's a cooler with drinks, and i can take pictures for you."
you smile wide. "my personal photographer. in fact, take some of me right now before the sun sets," you rush to hand him your phone, quickly posing yourself in front of the scene.
ekko took taking photos for you so seriously, genuinely telling you how to switch your posing and expression, and without missing a beat always hyping you up to the third degree.
so when you heard nothing from ekko, no 'oooh's or 'mhm's, you turned to him.
"ekko?"
"sorry, you're just..." he laughs sheepishly, avoiding your gaze as if he wasn't the key to your heart. "so pretty."
you roll your eyes. "you're so corny."
the tone of your voice completely betrayed your words, honeyed and bashful. he catches it, shaking his head and raising the camera again.
"right—okay, let's try this again."
.:*☆
the pictures came out great. you wanted to wait until you got home to pick your favorites to post, but all of them were so good that you didn't know which one to pick.
you leaned against the railing, staring out into deep night, city lights twinkling in the distance. the cool sea breeze rushes against your skin, the salty scent of the ocean flooding around you. it was too good of an opportunity to not take more.
"ekko, take a few more for me?"
he hums, not a moment of protest, finding your phone and settling into the seat opposite of you.
you take your seat as well, your torso twisted and legs crossed. his mouth opens—'move your leg a little' rests on his tongue, until he inspects your gaze through the phone. you weren't quite looking at the camera, but rather...behind it.
"you okay?"
you nod. "yeah...you look good as fuck over there."
he fumbles over his words for a moment, looking down at his attire. "in my spiderman shirt?"
"mhm, especially in your spiderman shirt," you look him up and down, eyes sliding over his muscles. "come back over here real quick?"
he's surprised he didn't trip from how quickly he scrambled over to you, sitting in the seat beside you. his smile is poorly hidden as you crawl into his lap. his hands find your waist, pulling you closer.
you direct his face up, fingers gently pushing at his chin, leaning down to lock your lips together.
his hands roam your body—clearly too impatient—fingers pushing beneath your shirt, pulling up and revealing your bra. intricate lace, almost in a floral pattern, dyed a dusty pink that was barely visible under the moonlight. the cups had a deep cut, plunging down from your collar bone to the bottom of your sternum with a dainty little decorative bow.
you literally feel him getting hard. he looks up, fingers running along the band. "this for me?"
"sure is." you nod, reaching down to tug your skirt down. the hem of your matching panties peek out. "you like 'em?"
"do i?" he glances above the short barrier at the captain, who isn't paying an ounce of attention. just humming in his own world, only focused on the path they were going on. perfect.
"shit..." his lips reconnect with yours before trailing down, sucking hickies into your skin, tightly squeezing your thighs, brows furrowing.
you can already tell he's going to find a way to seat you right on his face so you stop him—not because you don't want that, but you've been spoiled enough for one day—pushing his shoulders back and getting off of him.
he looked like a kicked puppy when you separated from him and you just roll your eyes, sinking down onto your knees with a wide smile. it all connects for him and he relaxes against the seat, lips parting as you quickly unbutton his pants, your nail hooking at the band of his trunks. you tug, down, down, down, until his dick springs free and lightly taps his naval.
you waste no time, your lips meeting the base, then parting to let your tongue run up a vein that lead you to the sensitive tip.
ekko shivers, eyes shifting from the arch in your back to your lips, leaving glossy stamps all along his length.
you, on the other hand, kept your eyes locked onto his. he kept averting his gaze. for what, you weren't sure. but you tapped his tip against your tongue, capturing his attention. finally, his eyes meet yours. now you feel like you can continue.
you kiss the tip again, smiling up at him as you allow it to breach your lips, sliding into your mouth agonizingly slow.
"fuuuck," he drags, watching you slowly sink down, taking almost all of it yet stopping where your lips met your fingers.
you get acquainted with the feeling, adjusting your tongue to press against the skin. your cheeks hollow, your head slowly falling into a bobbing movement, stroking him alongside your movements.
he struggles to not thrust straight up into your mouth, gripping the edge of the leather cushions. one hand meets the back of your head but doesn't push or pull, just rests there.
his hips twitch, torso relaxing against the back of the seat, growing rigid whenever your tongue ran across just the right spot. his chest rises and falls rapidly, quickly drawing in breaths then moaning them right out.
your jaw already started to ache, but looking up at him as he falls apart from just your mouth is beyond worth it. he shakes his head, eyes leaving yours, squeezing shut, and you can tell he's already close.
his hand leaves your head, forearm laying against his forehead. you tap him, a reminder. look at me. he peeks down, a breathy chuckle pushing through.
"doin' so good for me, yeah? 'm close—" he warns you—you nod in acknowledgment.
you unhinge your jaw, sticking your tongue out so he can watch his cum spill all over it,
he sucks air in through his teeth, and before you know it you're bent over the seat, looking out onto the horizon. you start to speak and he just shushes you, tugging your skirt up and pulling your panties to the side. soaked.
maybe you were just too impatient, because before he could even get comfortable you were reaching back to put it in. his laugh rings behind you, shooing your hand away so he can finish sinking all the way inside you.
his pelvis meets your ass and you almost caught a glimpse of the back of your skull. he started slow, gripping your waist and bringing you back to meet his strokes.
you're squeezing around him so tight, and all he can do is stare in awe at it. his length glistens, coated in your juices. then he couldn't take it, his pace quickening, watching the fat of your ass recoil against his movements.
it feels euphoric, almost unreal. staring out into the night sky, stars twinkling above you, ocean swaying below you, and ekko thrusting into your heat, moaning behind you—it was overwhelming, it had your flesh running hot.
"feels good?" he questions, though your gasps and mewls answer loud and clear.
"fuck, yes."
"mhm, you're mine, right?"
"a-all yours." you nod.
"all mine?" he asks, and it's rhetorical. not like you could reply anyway, because your moans caught in your throat, rendering any chance you had at words useless.
your noises drowned beneath the whirring of the motor paired with the water swaying beneath you, which you're endlessly grateful for. you're lucky that driver pays almost no attention to what's happening behind him.
you were especially loud, and it only got worse as you felt your orgasm building. ekko knew it too, the way your voice shook, the way you tightened around him, the way you begged him not to stop—it was pushing him over the edge too.
"fuck, that's it. just like that. i got you, okay? good."
your cries overlap ekko's softer groans as you came, your form trembling, jolts of pleasure coursing throughout your body as he fucked you through it.
he had to hold back from coming inside you, letting you ride out your high before pulling out to release all over your back.
he gives you no time to recover, immediately diving in for another round, intoxicated with the way you gasps caught in your throat, holding onto the seat for dear life.
he leans down, his lips meeting your shoulder, his brows furrowed. it did not take long for the two of you to get close again, still sensitive from your previous release. within a few minutes, your juices coat his length and another load lands on your back, seeping down and settling into the dip of your spine.
you're both catching your breath, ekko presses a kiss to the shell of your ear, and you have to stop him from kissing you more. "we're almost there," you hiss, and he huffs, lifting off of you to get himself together,
thank god there were paper towels on board. he cleans his release off of your back and skirt, managing to get the both of your appearances together by the time the yacht met the docks.
the moment the captain comes back to thank you for riding with him, ekko's giving him the quickest thank you possible along with his tip and rushing you off of the boat.
"let's get back to the room? i just wanna see that set you have on a little better."
you know that the second that door closes behind you in the hotel, there is not a chance you'll be stopping.

Ok but polygot reader who's like a pro singer who sings im all the languages they know all across teyvat cuz y not <3
Having a duet with yunjin and xinyan
Harmonising with barbara
Singing for nilou's dance
I WANNA SING LULLABIES TO MY CHILDREN SO BADLYYYYYYYY
Orah my beloved genius you <333
Tumblr media
LMAO SORRY I JUST HAD TO USE THIS GIF
Orbit: Short Headcanons-ish
Stars: mostly Mond/Liyue characters, mentions of other singers/musicians
Comets & Meteors: Content Warnings: none known. & Trigger Warnings: none known.
Please comment if I missed any. /gen
U get to sing a solo with Barbara yes!!
but u know whats more important? whos more hype abt ur songs/diff languages???
Venti.
Venti is.
Venti is vibrating with barely contained manic energy
poor guy is sick of always being familiar with songs, nothing is "new" to him, but ur songs?? they're from a different world, and he can't know any of them!!!
Venti's has a surprising amount of strength in those noodle arms bc ur suffocating in his hug rn-
He is constantly begging asking you to sing for him, sing in public, he'll put you on the Barbatos statue hands just so everyone can hear you,
constantly pleading politely requesting if he can lay in your lap under the Windrise tree while you sing slow songs
Hogs you from Barbara, Klee, and anyone else in Mondstadt who would want to personally hear ur singing/duet with you lmao
u had to bring in the cavalry (Rex Lapis/Zhongli) to get a week away from him lol
luckily the retired god was more than motivated to bring u to Liyue, after all he spends a fair amount of his time listening to operas/music
DUETS DUETS DUETS!!
Yunjin blew ur eardrums out of excitement the first time u copied her singing perfectly, kidnapped u for an entire week of festivities where u were the special singer guest <33
Xinyan looked at you like u hung the stars in the sky for both playing a little guitar/singing to her rock music (as she's used to instrumental rock so far bc its been just her)
Qiqi, Klee, Yao yao, Diona all ask (in their own ways lol) for lullabies,
they each wanted you to sing to them every night but it wasn't possible... so u got cloud retainer to invent a machine to record some lullabies you've sung in each of their countries languages so they can sleep 🥺<333
and the dancers.
you cannot escape the dancers.
Nilou, yunjin, eula, gaming, ayaka, doesn't matter, u cannot have peace.
u will sing for them all at some point, u will have repeated performances, u will attract crowds, u will be going on a world tour
(Lyney has also kidnapped u for his magic shows to show off ur singing in French)
finally scheduled a post and am able to rlly get at my asks more frequently now thank goodness
im so ready to open ask box again 😭😭
hope u guys have a fun Tuesday!! :)
Safe Travels 0rah,
💀♒

NOW PLAYING: I HATE U - SZA
part one. ✦ part two ✦ part three
Tumblr media
your boyfriend 1610!miles had been acting strange since he saw gwen after all these years, but you just shrugged it off as him being happy his friend was back in his dimension.
you never thought that your suspensions were true when you found your now ex with his "friend" behind your back.
you looked around the predominantly empty library in search of your boyfriend miles, who was nowhere to be seen. it was highly unlikely for him to be late to anything.
maybe something was last-minute? you would go ask his mother, rio, since you go to her for everything in the more frequent months since miles had been acting — odd — but you doubt she would know since her and her husband were out of town.
grabbing the pile of books you and miles you used to study for the test you knew you were going to fail, you scurried your way you the hushed library.
the sky was temperate, the perfect temperature for the park you thought, smelling the fresh, cool air — but focus! miles has to be somewhere around campus. you stuffed your books it your bag and made your way to his dorm, maybe he was still asleep?
you made your way to his dorm and softly knocked on his door, careful not to wake him. there was no answer. "miles?" you called to the door. again, no answer.
you pulled out your phone from your bag and went to his contacts. maybe he was sick or just skipped school? you had fussed at him the week prior to get more sleep, since he always came knocking at your window to late at night.
wait, should you call him? he's probably busy. and with that thought, you put your phone back in your bag and made your way to the morales house. it wasn't far from the school you two attended, so getting there wasn't a problem.
you knocked on the front door, once, twice. where is he? "miles!! you home??" you heard footsteps from the other side and the door opened to see miles who looked like he was in a rush. his hair everywhere and shirt backwards.
"hey! you okay?" you asked, your voice laced with concern for the boy.
"yeah." he said, his voice coming out hoarse. he cleared his throught. "m'fine, wassup?"
"you were s'posed to meet up with me at the library." you meant to sound playful, but your words came out more of a scoff. "look," he started. "i just forgot."
"forgot?? miles, you could have texted me! i was fuckin' worried about you!" you were furious, crossing your arms with a frown. "you done?" he asked with an eyebrow raised — you could see the twinge on annoyance in his eyes and you could hear it in his tone. "am i done?" you scoffed "are you done running off and not checking up on people??"
he didnt know how to answer that. "look, i'm hella busy right now, we can do the study thing or whateva later." he pinched the bridge of his nose. "fine." you muttered as you walked out the door.

Can you maybe write MKR!Wukong confessing his feelings to the reader? Please?
Gentle Pace
Relationship: MKR!Sun Wukong X Female Harpy!Reader
AN: Hoooo okay I am very sorry for how long it took to get this out, the past two-ish weeks have been pretty hectic irl, so my writing has been suffering a little. I finally got this done tho, I really hope you like it! I did try to get him to actually confess but MKR!Wukong was just like 'no im too emotionally guarded' so I got the closest thing to it.
Tags: Fluff, Sort of love confessions
Read it on AO3!
The fire crackles and flickers light over him, its warmth seeping into his bare feet. His hands are folded in front of him as he tries, and fails, to meditate.
Things had been quiet since the defeat of Yuandi, and Wukong feels the creeping dread of suspicion settling into his bones once more. Any day now, any moment, there's going to be another attack from yaoguais looking to steal his Master away. He knows it's coming, but that doesn’t stop the feeling of unease that the calm before the storm leaves him with.
Despite his efforts to meditate, he feels restless. His tail keeps twitching where it curls in the grass behind him, the only thing keeping it flat on the ground being the tiny fruit spirit curled up with the limb, using his fur as a blanket. Further behind him in the tree line, you sit and make up your sleeping area for the night. Wukong peeks at you over his shoulder, watching with quiet fascination as you make a pseudo-nest in the branches of a tree to get comfortable. Your colorful tail feathers dangle from the branch you sit on as you tie branches and leaves together, lining the semi circular shape with cloth from a bedroll you had purchased and subsequently tore into pieces. Every time your group moves on you collect all the fabric pieces you can, storing them in a bag to use for your next night of camping.
You look up from your little nest, meeting his eyes. He startles, looking back at the fire in front of him and trying in vain to stop the blush from rising in his cheeks. His ears twitch as he hears you glide down from your spot, your form settling down next to his in the soft grass.
“You look lonely.” You tease. Wukong scoffs in mock offense, crossing his arms and scowling at the fire.
“I'm the Monkey King, a yaoguai with power equal to heaven. I don't get lonely.” He huffs.
“Could have fooled me.”
“I have Fruitie.” You spare a glance at the tiny spirit just as he rolls off Wukong's tail, hands reaching for a fallen leaf in his sleep that he brings closer to cuddle, promptly snapping the dried material into little pieces. The little guy is drooling on the grass.
“Seems like good company.” You grin. His eyes dart down to your lips, wondering not for the first time how soft they must feel. They look soft, he thinks he would enjoy feeling them against his own…
Wukong jolts, glaring off into the starry night sky and hoping you won't notice his blush. Or if you do, that you'll blame it on the heat of the fire. The silence stretches on as you sit together, your presence bringing comfort to him he didn’t want to admit he craved. Your smell surrounds him, the sound of your steady, even breaths soothing his own nerves. His claws twitch in his lap, the desire to reach out to you and hold you prickling at his skin.
Would you let him? If he reached his hand out right now, just to set it on top of yours and gently pull you closer and into his lap, would you let him? Your sweet face tucked into the safety of his own neck, his lips able to press against the crown of your head…
The rustling of feathers catches his attention. You’ve unfolded one of your wings from your back, laying the limb out in your lap to preen and fix the feathers. They look so soft and colorful, and Wukong finds he (not for the first time) wants to trail his fingers over them all, to see what kind of sound you would make with his touch on such a sensitive part of you…
And then your fingers reveal a spot missing feathers, the skin underneath still rough and scarred. Wukong remembers how it happened, watching you soaring through the air to try and save Fruitie, to pull the tiny spirit to safety where Yuandi wouldn’t be able to follow, only for a dark tendril to spear into your wing. You had screamed and went spiraling, crashing into the dirt far from Wukong, where he couldn’t protect you-
He frowns.
You notice. You always notice when his mood changes.
“It doesn’t hurt anymore.” You whisper. He glances up at you, your eyes earnest and genuine as you try to reassure him. He looks away, huffing hot air from his nose in response.
“I didn’t say anything.” He grumbles.
“You didn’t have to.”
He huffs again, shoulders tense. Why are you so good at reading him? Why does he let you so close?
Wukong sighs, the tension draining from him and replaced with weariness. He knows why.
You suddenly stand up next to him and pat him on the head, fingers weaving through his soft fur. He looks up at you with a raised eyebrow and forces himself not to chitter in pleasure at the feeling of you petting him.
“Come on. Let’s go for a soar, get some of that pent up energy out of you.” With that you step away from the fire, stretching your arms high above your head and letting your wings stretch open to their full length. He watches where he still sits - the colors of your feathers look dazzling in the firelight. You glance over your shoulder at him, a coy smile on your lips.
“Well?” You call, a challenging tone to your voice. Wukong jolts, blinking rapidly before jumping into the air, summoning his cloud beneath him to land on. He glances at where Fruitie is still curled up, his broken leaf still clutched in his tiny hands. His gaze moves to Master Tang under a tree at the edge of the camp, his sleeping face peaceful.
Satisfied, he nods to himself and turns back to you, smirking deviously.
“Bet I could catch you.” He growls low in his throat, lowering himself into a crouched position on his cloud. Your eyes widen at his words, heat rushing to your cheeks. You giggle, and with a snap of your wings you're off the ground, speeding away from him.
Wukong takes off after you, the chill night breeze invigorating him as he gives chase.
One of his favorite things about your late night flying sessions together? You’re one of the few beings he knows (and enjoys the company of) that can keep up with his speed. You’re far ahead of him already, wings spread wide and gaining more distance with every flap. He doesn’t have to force himself to slow down to give you a chance of winning your game, you push him to actually use up his energy.
You give him a challenge.
He loves it.
He somersaults over the reaching branches of a tree and lands on a new cloud, eyes never leaving you. You glance back at him, smiling with teeth and giving him a cheeky wave from your safe distance. The familiar feeling of competition floods through his veins and Wukong urges himself to go faster, pushing more power into his cloud. You follow suit, arching your wings high and pushing yourself higher up towards the cloud layer above you both. He watches as your tail feathers disappear above the puffy whiteness and turns his cloud to follow.
The dazzling sight of the milky way greets him above the cloud layer, the moon bright and full where it sits. Your colorful feathers seem to glisten under the light, and Wukong feels breathless as he watches you dive and arch through the air before him.
The chase seems less important now, as he flies closer to you and spins in unison with your own form. You laugh in glee, following his circle as you move through the air, the wind rushing past you both. Your hands stretch towards him, and he doesn't hesitate for a moment before he's grabbing you back, the two of you spinning around and around with the stars around you. Energy courses through his veins and leaves him excited, your smell on the wind and your smile across from him.
He slows down, gently tugging your warm hands into following his motions. You follow his lead and let yourself come to a gentle stop in the air, your feet coming to rest on his cloud.
“Done already?” You ask with a raised eyebrow. “Growing old, Monkey King?” Wukong gives an amused huff at your words, rolling his eyes even as he grins at you.
“Not done, just…wanted to take a moment.” He admits. You cock your head to the side in question but don't pull away. He's thankful for it, his heart beating a million miles a second as he watches you.
You go out of your way to help him and his…emotional difficulties. He knows he's a hard ass, Bajie wouldn't hesitate to bad mouth him to anyone who would listen, but you always seem to have patience for him. More than that, you actually empathize with him, trying to help him understand his frustrations and anger when it's too much.
It hadn't been his idea to go on nightly flights over the world when he grew tense, but yours. You had taken one look at him that first night, tail flicking in irritation and a snarl on his lips, before clapping your hands and demanding he go flying with you. He had resisted at first, unwilling to leave his Master and suspicious of your intentions still. You knew how to read him even then though, and had challenged him with no hesitation to prove that he could fly better.
Since then it has become your little ritual, a way for the two of you to get away from everyone else when things are too much.
Wukong wishes he had a way to tell you all this, how much he appreciates your presence and help. How much he's come to rely on your steady, calm demeanor compared to his feisty vengeful one.
How much you mean to him.
His hand comes up between the two of you, reaching for your cheek before he freezes, uncertainty making him second guess himself.
Your eyes follow his movement, and for one heart stopping moment he thinks this is it, you're going to scoff at him and pull away. That you'll glare and call him a ‘bastard monkey’ for daring to even think such soft thoughts about you. He's a brute, a greedy yaoguai that would break something as gentle as you…
But you don't do that.
You step closer to him, your own hand coming up to grip him by the wrist and bring it up to your face. His breath catches in his throat and he swallows, eyes locked with yours. He feels the gentle pressure of your lips on the pad of his pointer finger, followed by pressure on his middle, then his ring and then his pinky. His thumb is the last to get a kiss, and you trail those incredibly gentle lips down to his palm and finally the soft inner part of his wrist where you hold it.
Your eyes never leave his the whole time.
When you're finished, you place his hand on your cheek on purpose, nuzzling against his calloused skin like it's the best thing you've ever felt, your eyes fluttering closed. He shudders in delight, closing his eyes as he savors the feeling of your skin under his rough claws. It’s overwhelming, just this simple touch has him losing himself. He wants more, but he can’t, you’re too soft, too right and comfortable. It’s dangerous to feel this way.
Not that he even deserves your affection if he can’t even say the damn words clawing at the back of his throat.
“I…I want…” He chokes, frustrated with himself. His free hand curls into a fist as his brow furrows in concentration. Why is this so hard? How did you make it look so easy? It’s a perfect moment even - the moon shining bright above you both with an endless starry sky, white puffy clouds under your feet. This is the kind of moment that hopeless romantics dream of when it comes to romance, to have a confession in such a beautiful place.
He wants to tell you, he wants to share the quiet spaces of his stone heart with you and only you…if you would have him.
“Wukong.” You come to his rescue, as usual. “It’s alright.”
“Huh?”
“It’s okay. You don’t need to say anything you aren’t ready for.” You whisper to him, like it’s a secret only the two of you will ever share. A growl reverberates through his chest, anger directed at himself.
“I want to. I want to tell you…to-...let you know-” His fur ruffles and puffs up with agitation, and he shakes himself to get rid of the response. You hide a smile into his palm still cupping the curve of your cheek. He can feel your breath against his pulse.
“We have time.” You say, looking at him with such certainty he almost believes you.
“But-...but I…”
“Wukong. I’ll let you set the pace. We can go as fast or slow as you feel comfortable with.” A nerve is soothed inside him, your gentle reassurance more than what he could have asked for.
“And what about…about k-kissing, or-” He lets his remaining anxiety slip out, craving your soothing words. Your own hands come up to cup his cheeks, your thumbs rubbing the line of black on his cheekbones. He all but melts into your touch. He could slip through the cloud layer and fall to earth right now and he’d be content.
“Whenever you’re ready. You can kiss me now, or tomorrow, or 500 years from now. I will wait.” Heat rises to your own cheeks, your gaze turning shy at your own words. “If all you can do right now is this-”
You use one hand to gesture around you both before bringing it back to his cheek, where he craves for it to stay.
“Joining me at beautiful sights and l-letting me hold you…h-holding me back…” Your smile makes his stomach flutter. “Then that’s enough. It’ll always be enough.”
A small, scared voice in the depths of his soul finally quiets at your words. You mean it. He can take his time to explore this with you, to learn to trust these feelings you ignited in him. He follows his instincts, moving both his hands to your waist and pulling you closer, chest to chest. He lets his forehead rest against your own, your breath mingling and your fingers still playing with the fur on his head.
“Thank you. I promise…I’ll get there.”
The two of you stand there, under the light of stars and moon, and revel in your new shared secret.

you didn’t mean to say it. it just… slipped.
the moon was barely hanging in the sky when you met him outside the stables, the cold air biting at your skin, but you didn’t care. the secrecy was always a part of it, always had to be. but when you saw him, broad and looming, the flickering torchlight catching his face just right, the words left you before you could stop them.
“ser,” you greeted, barely a whisper, your eyes meeting his for a fraction of a second. just enough for him to hear it.
for a split second, he froze. just stood there, like someone had punched him in the gut. his gaze locked on you, hard and sharp.
“ser?” his voice was low, rough, and it sent a chill down your spine. “you’ve never called me that.”
you swallowed, your heart racing. it was just an accident, wasn’t it? it had slipped out in the heat of the moment, as always, a stupid little title to keep things in line. “i was just—being polite,” you said quickly, stepping closer to him, your fingers brushing the edge of his cloak like it was nothing. “you know, formality and all that.”
he didn’t look convinced. in fact, he looked like he was about to bite your head off. “polite,” he repeated, his voice getting darker, “right.”
you tried to lighten the mood, a soft laugh escaping your lips. “it’s just a title, sandor. it doesn’t mean—”
“doesn’t mean what?” he cut you off, his voice rising, rougher now, the words thick with something more than irritation. “you think you’re foolin’ me?” his gaze never left yours, burning with a quiet fury you hadn’t expected.
you stopped yourself, suddenly aware that your words were slipping past your control.
god, how did it get this tense so quickly?
“look,” you started again, voice softer this time. “i didn’t mean to make it weird.”
“oh, it’s already fuckin’ weird,” he muttered under his breath, but you could see his fingers twitch like he was fighting the urge to grab you, to do something else entirely.
you couldn’t help but smirk, taking another step closer, letting your voice drop lower. “i don’t see what the big deal is. it’s just a title.”
he didn’t laugh. instead, his eyes darkened even more, and for a second, you thought he might grab you, pull you into him right there in the shadows.
“it’s not about that.” his voice was rough, still carrying that edge, but you could tell he was fighting it. “you think i don’t know what you’re doin’?” he finally said, his tone low and gruff. “you think i don’t know you’re stirrin’ me up?”
you stepped a little closer to him, your voice a soft whisper now, the words hanging in the air between you like a dare. "sandor, i just actually hold you in really high regard,” you said, trying to ease the tension with a soft smile.
he stared down at you, just a few inches between your faces now, and you almost swore you could hear his pulse racing. he tilted his head slightly, eyes never leaving yours, as if contemplating the words you’d just thrown at him.
his lips pressed into a thin line before one corner twitched up in a reluctant smirk. “fuckin’ hell,” he murmured, shaking his head. “you’re the kind of trouble I don’t walk away from, aren’t you?”
your chest tightened, the air thickening between you with every second. Instead of backing away, you let the words hang there, settling between you like a challenge. you took a step closer, voice dropping low, but firm. “i never planned on letting you.”
his breath felt warm against your neck, he was so close now, you could feel the heat from his body and hear the low rumble in his chest as he spoke again.
“you’d better hope I don’t decide to take that as an invitation.”
you knew it was only a matter of time before he snapped, before he gave in to whatever this was.
and damn, you weren’t sure if you were ready for it, but you weren’t backing down now.
you touch his chest, your fingers curling into the fabric of his tunic as you whisper, “maybe i want you to see it as an invitation.”
his jaw tightens, and for a moment, all he does is stare, the flicker of a smirk ghosting across his face. “you really don’t know when to quit, do you?”
“not when it comes to you.”
his grip finds your waist, rough and deliberate, pulling you closer. “you've no idea what you're askin' for” he murmurs, and before you can respond, his lips crash against yours, stealing whatever clever retort you thought you had left.
for once, neither of you held back.

Snow Angel 10
Chapter 10: adamant Series Masterlist
low - medium honor Arthur Morgan x fem. Reader
Arthur has been living by himself, laying low (for real this time) somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. After the whole Pinkerton and Micah debacle, he has been hiding away, waiting for it all to blow over, occasionally getting letters from the people who still know that he’s alive. He’s been alone awhile and at first, he thought he could handle a little loneliness. He has been wrong before. Lucky for him, you look like the perfect thing to break up the monotony.
Warnings: depictions of a panic attack. PLEASE AVOID if that would end up harming you i beg !!! dubious consent, arthur’s mental health is kind of not so good…VERY low honor Arthur, darkish fic, a bit of naive reader. Reader has dated and period typical ideals, not very good ideas about men and marriage… if you want reader to be strong and a fighter… this is not for you sorry. suggestive themes. I am being serious when I say that arthur is bad at handling this situation. he does not think he has done anything wrong. if youve been reading so far you know that that is BAD. please do not read if you can't handle it, im putting a giant RED FLAG on this WC: 4753 SNOW ANGEL DROP TN??? everybody say thank you to @emerald-ranch CHAPTER 10 !!! we did it !! it took me a while to churn this out and get it to a place that i liked. im still not even sure i like it LMAO thank you for all of the lovely little niche questions i get about my strange snow angel arthur, he is everything to me and i love to speak him into existence. first time writing angst soooo Tags: lots of angst todayyy, no TB, weird but not that toxic relationship, Arthur being a menace.Arthur being rude as always just… low honor arthur as a warning lol You and Arthur clear the air.
“Caught me a little bunny, pretty one too,” you can feel his excitement behind the fabric of his pants, his belt digging into you uncomfortably. Arthur’s features, although covered in shadows from the dusk drawing in, still reflect his anticipation. He takes his hat off, his hand drags his hair back, damp with sweat, darker than the usual lighter brown. Some of it still flops over into his face anyway.
Your hands push at his shoulders weakly, whining as he dips down to kiss you, the warmth of his breath fanning over the roundness of your cheek, you can feel the scrape of his stubbly hair on your face, the dimple at the tip of his nose brush over you.
“Arthur, please, I just- I wanna go home, you won, you got me,” he hums, running his tongue over your neck, his arms prop his body up over yours, keeping you warm in the cold chill. He covers you well enough, shields you from the winter with his frame, wide and heavyset. You can feel the rumble in him when he says ‘you’re damn right, I did,’.
The sky is a pretty shade of purple, a little like lavender. You look up, feeling his body tilt to one side, held up on his elbow, his other takes the opportunity to roam over your body. “We can go to our home, Arthur,” you try to pull at his desires, but he won’t have any of it.
“Wanna see my prize first,” he says between puffs of air, his tongue pacing over the delicate skin of your neck. His hands tug your skirt upwards while you try and keep your legs closed. His hands grip the fat of your thigh, dipping under the dainty fabric of your stocking. Between his legs is the rather stiff press of him and his arousal. You don’t like how easy it is for your body to respond to just the notion of him taking you like this, like an animal.
His rough fingertips skim over the mark he left on you, the one your mother saw.
“All you had to do was say you liked it. I know you did. You like everything I do,”
“I-No, I…I couldn’t-” You couldn't make it stop. Couldn't make your body stop reacting to him is what you want to say. But to say so would admit that some part of you liked what he did. You snap your mouth shut like a coin purse. You can’t bring yourself to say such a thing. Not that his ideas deserve to be validated. He gives you a knowing look which sends a tremor down your spine, your legs shifting nervously.
“Quit your lying’, girl, you ain’t fooled me yet. Shouldn’t be ashamed, sugar; I might be a bastard but I ain’t the worst thing coulda happened to ya,”
“I’m not trying to…I told her not to say anything,” you whine and push again at his shoulders but he doesn’t budge.
“Mhm, how come I don’t believe that for a second,”
Either way, he drops his mouth to your neck, sucks another painful mark just under your ear, the sensitive skin tingles with sensation, pulling pain from your nerves. You tilt your face away, you can’t get him to stop. You can hear the wetness of his tongue moistening your skin before he's sucking a deep red mark, which will be another bruise on your skin. You pull at his hair, but you’re held down just as easily while he nips away.
Your back arches, your skin tingles. A lewd whimper is all you have to offer, keening for him. The quiver inside you isn’t mindful at all. Pure reaction, pleasure rising to the surface.
He gives you more than one this time, leaving them at his leisure. He's ripping your blouse open next, so he can leave more on your breasts. The soft flesh is alight with nerves, rippling desire through you.
“Think you’re starting to like it, angel,” you still your body, disconnected from its actions, which until then was moaning, clutching his shoulder for dear life. The tide of your emotions rises higher though, ice cold water crashing down on the pleasant warmth gathering on your lower belly.
Like you’ve stepped in front of a wagon train, the panic sets in, more than any other time before now. A shameful part of you; an awful desire that burns for Arthur somewhere inside of you, wants him to keep going. To make good on all of his promises. But it’s too difficult to indulge that part of you. The shock of what happened in your family’s home is too much. It drops on your head like an anvil or a blacksmith's hammer. You’re entirely too aware of how your father’s blood dripped over his own fingers. Your mother crumpled to the ground as she watched Arthur take you away.
“I don’t-don’t want to do this right now, please,” It’s maybe the first time you cry at his insistence. And the first time you’ve been utterly clear about what you do and don’t want. In the most explicit terms possible. You feel the tears well up in your eyes. You cried like this when he first told you what he wanted. They drip down the sides of your face. You hadn’t been able to stop him on the first night. And after he made you all too aware of how things work between a man and a woman, you hadn’t tried to, overwhelmed with how good he was at dragging pleasure out of you. But now, it’s like the world has come closing in and there’s nothing that can stop it from swallowing you whole. Not after what he did, simply because your father thought to stop him from taking his only daughter away.
Your breathing comes far too quick. Your head feels like it's full of air and it begins to hurt. The cold stings your finger tips. You have no regard as to what your face looks like, letting it bunch up in what is probably an unsightly expression of your reactive sobbing.
“Hey, hey, I-” He’s no longer using that husky tone with which he usually addresses you when he gets like this. It’s trying to be soothing but a certain panic underlines his words. You can see him take his hands off of you, as if he’s burning you with every touch. But he still keeps you underneath some of his weight, his mouth opens as if to say something else, furrowed brows
“Get off…Get off me,” you push at his shoulders and at first he doesn't move an inch. When you don’t immediately feel his weight move from pinning you down, your sobbing becomes volatile. Struggling to breath through your tears and your desperate wails, you inhale faster but it still feels like it's not enough. Thrashing mindlessly at him, uncaring of his anger or his punishments, is what makes him ease off of you a little.
“Woah, easy,” he tugs your skirt down, shielding you from the cold as much as he can without touching you but you can’t stop yourself from being consumed by the physical reaction your shock evokes from you, wrenched from you. Like a child and their toys infected with scarlet fever.
His soothing does work a little, now that you know he’s stopping, that he’s covered your legs. You sniff and writhe, your fingers grip at his upper arms. You can finally blink through your tears to see his expression, worry clouded with something you’ve never quite seen. The pull of his mouth tugs towards a guilt he’s never shown you before.
You’re starting to breathe way too much, all of the air makes you dizzy and the cold still burns your lungs but you don’t care, letting the pain ground you. Your arms wrap around yourself to cover your breasts, trying to fix your ruined shirt to no avail. The frustrated fumbling of your fingers has Arthur softening more, but his voice still intonates with his natural authority.
“Sweetheart, you need to slow down. Jus’ breathe, you’ll be alright,” his commanding voice controls you more than you thought it would. He sits back on his haunches, hoping the distance might do you some good, crowding you isn’t in his best interest. You gasp for air, sitting up a little with the space he’s afforded you.
Arthur comes closer to calm you when he notices you can’t seem to do it all on your own. He’s slow, shushing you, his hand pets your hair, down behind your ear, to the side of your neck. He keeps his eyes low, the warmth of his hand helps you a little, so does his own rhythmic breathing, slow and steady.
He doesn’t say much for a minute or two, a ‘that’s my girl,’ tingles your ear, warms you up. You sigh, trying to regulate your breathing, appreciating his help but still feeling frightened and confused. Especially when you consider that he is the source of all your troubles. Arthur is close enough so you feel body heat, his fingers brush your tears away. Sweet in this gentle moment. How could you stand to take comfort from a man who shot your father? Who could have missed, who could have killed him? As always, you doubt that you’re right in the head. Something must be broken within you.
It’s hardwired though. Arthur is all you have left now. The only one here with you.
He doesn’t seem excited in the same way he was before. The adrenaline from his chase dies in your blood, leaving behind the residue of stress, a headache forming. The pace of your heart does slow down now, the puff of the air in your lungs. He watches you with an odd expression. Glad that you’ve calmed down but still disappointed. Perhaps with you, having ruined his plan of taking you, of spreading your legs in the snow, burying himself inside of you. If things hadn’t gone so wrong today, you might have let him.
The thought makes more shameful tears drip down your face. Despite any calm summoned from you, you still feel the curl of disgrace, laying in your tattered shirt underneath this man, shrinking away from his stare.
“What's wrong? Did I hurt you?” You can at least appreciate that he is worried about you, even if he has no clue why. You can see a fear in his eyes that he tries to hide from you, a fear that he’s caused you real pain. At least you know now that if you had done more screaming and crying, he might have stopped that day. You didn't think him to be so thick as to not understand why you are as emotional in this moment as you are.
“Arthur, no, no, I just- I don’t want- I want to go home…now,” You had wanted to come away from this moment, maybe just a bit touched at how he had helped you through your foolish hysterics. But as always, some part of Arthur balances it out.
“Just tell me why you was cryin’. I know that ain’t all of it,” He narrows his eyes. Your jaw drops, unable to hide your outrage. Your anger, which you keep in check most of the time, pushes at the lid of the pot you stuff it in. Every single grain of it threatens to spill out. Your fingers scrunch, your face does too.
“Shooting my father and then hunting me like an animal; pushing me in the dirt for- for your desires- that’s not enough?” You realize now that dusk is here and it’s colder in this dark valley than it was before. You move to stand, he’s upright before you and he does try to help but you refuse him. Unfortunately, your anger hasn’t been honed into a point sharp enough to cut. It’s only wet and girlish, it makes you cry and tremble, your throat thickens unpleasantly.
“You did what you wanted with me, like you always do. But my family… I never wanted-” You wobble onto your feet, closing his coat in front of your chest. You should never have indulged him. You should have bitten and chewed and snarled and spat until he left you alone.
You aren't sure why you didn't. You suppose it felt nice to have a man notice you, to call you pretty. To want you in some way other than to just ignore or to leer at disgustingly like the lonely trappers at the trading post, even when they were friends of your father. How pathetic of you.
Yet, nothing about what he did felt disgusting. It was the expectation on you as a woman to reserve these affections for marriage that lashed against the inside of your ribcage. That whispered that it was wrong; it was anything but the pure and gentle lessons you received as a girl. Opening your legs so willingly for a man because he called you pretty, called you all sorts of saccharine praises, was tearing away at you. You hadn't fought him harder and at first you thought it was because there was no point, that he was too strong anyway so why waste the energy? But now, you aren't so sure of that resolve.
He was handsome in his own way and he didn’t seem like all the boys your mother told you to keep an eye on in case you should marry one day. Lanky and thin, sparse hairs on their chins which they stroked like great beards. He wasn’t a drunken fool or witless boy.
Arthur was a man. He acted like one, he smelled like one, looked like one. He wasn’t afraid to muck stalls, to cook. And he acted like you were married already, like you loved him and he loved you. Perhaps you liked the idea of having a man such as him, a man who didn’t need you to replace his mother’s duties, a man who wanted you to simply be with him. And those glittering moments where you played house with him, sat on his lap and let him kiss you. You could have stayed with him there forever, buried in the snow. You would have been happy if spring’s thaw never came. But now, he stands, with an almost resentful look at your accusatory tone.
Everything has dissolved into a coagulated mess, like spoiled milk.
“I do what I want with you? The hell does that mean?” He’s more upset now, at the insinuating circumstances.
“Arthur,” you recoil at the anger in his voice. You don’t even know what you meant particularly but Arthur fishes a meaning out from your words, even if you hadn’t put too much stock into your own words.
“You’re sayin’ that I violated you, is that it?” his hands rest on his hips as he moves to keep staring you in the eye, you’ve never seen him like this before. Really angry.
“I didn’t ask to do that with you, I told you to…” It’s like he can sense how noncommittal you are with your own sentiments. Your own certainty doesn't linger with you. As much as you would like it too. He sniffs it out like a bloodhound, throwing the truth in your face.
“You know what I think? I think- fact, I know. You’re one of those gently reared girls, think they’re better than this, above any of this low down ruttin’ us sinners do. You can’t even say it, can you? All that we got up to. That’s called fuckin’ , sweetheart,” The word curls into his vicious smile. You’re scandalized, can feel how your hands pull his coat even tighter. You don’t think you’ve heard anyone talk like that to you. It’s a dirty word but you suppose that is what it felt like to be with him. Dirty. But that rush, you can’t deny that. The one that shoots up your spine when you remember how it made you feel.
“Can’t say you ain’t like it, can’t say you did; and I get it. Ain’t the first time I met a girl like you. But you can’t lie to me,”
You ignore the hind-brain jealousy that pokes your mind. His words are truer than you want them to be. You said stop once or twice, although you can’t recall too well about things you said. Instead, you told him you belonged to him. You had meant to endear yourself to him. It worked far more than you wanted it to.
Pretending like you didn’t want him to do what he did protected your own self important image as your father and mother preferred you, not how things really were. And now that you don’t have them anymore, what use was that image? You try to cling to the truth of your old life, crumbling to pieces around you.
“It’s not just about that. I…I didn’t say yes…I thought you would hurt me, you told me you didn’t want me to fuss. When you told me I had to stay…” you stun him, he seems like he hardly remembers doing that. In that low voice, his startling command. It scared you to the bone then, but it did shake something awake. You had never felt so wanted in your life as that day. Both of you are some type of wrong, you think. Maybe he recognized the same kind of wrong in you.
Carefully, he mulls over what you said. It affects him, you can see how that same guilt settles in the creases of his face. It roots around his eyes, the harsh lines soften. How his boots scuff against the ground. One of his hands scratches at his beard. But all too soon, it’s gone and a resolve hardens on his face, like he’s dashed the guilt away. Made room for something else.
“Am I just supposed to believe you was lyin’ when you said you liked it? I don’t make you talk, darlin’. You might be pretty as a doll,” He looks over your features, over your hair and your pouting lip. “But you ain’t no string puppet. Wouldn’t hurt you, honey, not like that, not how you’re meanin’. It’d do you some good to remember that ain’t true ‘bout most anybody else,” He lets his body naturally intimidate yours, looking down his nose at you.
You don’t know how he can have such a prideful stare. Like he knows he’s right. He pushes the memory of your father, kneeling and gripping his wound to the front of your mind.
“You didn’t have to shoot him. Heaven forbid my father from trying to protect me from you. Wouldn’t be the first time a father tried to keep his daughter from marrying you. Arthur, why exactly is it your first instinct to go waving a gun around when something goes wrong? I don’t understand what drives someone to do the things you do,” He chuckles darkly, as if you told a morose joke at a funeral. He does let a quiet frustration come over him, a glare gets leveled at you. But he holds himself tightly in his own restraint. Your retaliation against him; he treats it as a minor slight. You cross your arms while he brushes it off. All too good at letting insults slide off his back.
“That makes the two of us. I ain’t been a good man most my life and I ain’t sure I’ll ever be any good at it. I try to be good to you, I do, but maybe it ain’t enough. That’s just fine with me,” He steps closer to you, sensing your shock at his words. He’s back to that prowling wolf from before. His demeanor changes on a dime. He bends at the waist to grab his gloves and hat, dusting the bottom of the brim casually against his coat before placing it back on his head. His gloves are shoved haphazardly in his pocket. “I don’t know if I need that from you, some fairytale love story, where your Pa hands you over to me and I bring you up to the altar dressed like a government boy,” You’re almost afraid of him, how he carries himself. There's a dread hanging in the air around him, a foreboding poke in the back of your head.
“Used to be an outlaw, around New Austin, Heartlands, all over…” you look at the cold look in his eyes. Colder than the snow that dusts the ground. Frozen stiff like a corpse, but you tremble anyway. He shifts his legs, widening his stance and placing one hand on his belt, next to the shiny revolver. “I’ve killed people, robbed them, or both…done things I wasn’t always proud of. I ain’t too proud of what I done with you neither. Tellin’ you that is…just about as good as bein’ married. Can’t let ya go wanderin’ off knowin’ the truth, now,” Arthur raises his arms in something like a shrug. The nonchalant air about him has that wet anger rising in your throat again.
“You ain’t goin’ back home. Least the home you had. Me puttin’ a bullet in your Pa don’t change that. I’d advise you to make your peace with the fact. I keep havin’ to tell you. I hate repeatin’ myself,” You continue to stare, eyes wide with the realization of his truth. An outlaw. You must be the most unfortunate girl in the state. To walk into the home of a killer. Your thoughts trail back to how he disposed of the body of the man who had tried to rob you. The cold and careless manner of dealing with death was telling then. It screams at you now.
“I-I’m not some belonging for you to collect, for you to hang on your wall. To put up on top of your fireplace, Arthur,”
“No, you’re much more than that,” You aren’t completely sure of his meaning. But it’s something that entails you being with him how he wills it. No better than being chained to his bed, really. He nears you and you do take a wary step backward, a little afraid of the neutrality on his features. He schools his reactions, tells you of his past with no remorse.
“If you care for me, care for me at all, wouldn’t you- wouldn't you let me go?” you ask but you know his answer, when he finally closes in on you, drags one finger down the curve, the roundness of your cheek. His thumb rests on your lips, his other fingers curl around to almost the nape of your neck. His hand makes you feel entirely too small in his hold. Guides you to look up at him, as your fingers clutch the fur of his coat tightly around you.
“See, that’s the problem right there,” he has a strange twist to his voice, a light lilt while he smirks down at you, the darkness dipping the shadows across his face into an even darker tone. “I care about you too much. Maybe it ain’t right, can’t say I give a damn either way,” the fragility of this moment isn’t broken until he puts a kiss on your lips that’s a thousand times lighter than the precarious air of this conversation. But you should have known being so restrained isn’t permanent with Arthur.
A strong hand closes on your hip, drags you into the front of him. His breath quickens, it flatters you how much he likes you so near to him. Your hip aches pleasantly as he squeezes it. Your heart swells, you wish you could will yourself into rejecting him.
“Tell me you don’t want me, honey. Tell me to leave you alone…” You’re stiff as an iron rod when he pulls you to him. You brace yourself on him, hands compelled naturally to lay flat on his chest. Something about the full form of his body is so pleasing to you, the breadth of him against you. The warmth you feel and the strength lying in wait. The smell of him, leather and hide, tobacco and mint. It closes you in. You open your mouth to say something. Anything.
“Arthur, that’s not fair,” you whine. Your anger might have caused you to lash out at him for once. But you’re back to the docile thing he liked to chase around, too occupied with his body so close to yours to realize that you’ve dropped all pretense of that strong front, that you haven’t answered his question. You wish you could continue being the kind of person who could tell someone like Arthur what he's asking. Strong willed, not so swayed. But you’re moved in the opposite direction by whatever is inside of you, some deep buried want of yours. And the constant tone of knowing that he’s bigger and stronger than you. It’s always there, rain pattering on the roof in autumn. He had no trouble chasing after you like this, in the encroaching dusk. It was more a game than any real challenge.
“Just say it, you keep tryin’ to, don’t ya?” you look away. Why can’t you say it? When he’s inviting you to rebuff him. You look up at him. A knot gets tangled in your insides. Your tongue sticks to the roof of your mouth. What is wrong with you?
“You can’t cause you don’t mean it, not when this little pussy gets wet when I touch you, when you kiss me back. You don’t remember when you was touchin’ all over me? Those kisses you put on me?” he teases you, a more smug exhale is what you get. The night weighs on your shoulders like a heavy blanket and so does his reality check. He has a sigh and a faint groan, as if thinking of all that you’ve done with him in the privacy of his home.
You think to defy him, to spite his words but you can’t when he gives you another kiss. The dryness he licks away. This one is a wet sloppy mess, it doesn’t last long but he’s as right as he knew he was, you melt into it, grab onto him, tilt so he can kiss you deeper. His teeth nip at your soft lips, his tongue rubs over yours. A warm shame fills your belly and crawls up your face. You can’t bring yourself to hate his stupid smug lovesick look, the way he rubs the scar on his chin as he pulls away.
“You like me, don’t you, sweetheart?” He’s mocking you now, he knows the answer just as well as you do but he likes to feel like he’s wrenching it out of you. He’s caught you and he’s holding you up by the ears while you dangle uselessly; a rabbit caught in the hunt. You stare up at him, caught in his pretty blue eyes, the little nicked scar on his nose bridge. You have a very reluctant almost imperceptible nod. Despite the raging heat in you at such an admittance. You like the man who locked you in his home, who wants you to marry him while hardly knowing him, who used to be an outlaw.
“Even after I shot your daddy? You’re somethin’ else, girl,” he revels in your reaction but with his own version of pity, an endeared expression at your warbling chin and heavy sniff.
A bad feeling curdles in your belly, you bite your lip. You shouldn’t do this. How could you ever do this to your family? Turn your back on them like this? But you didn’t see another choice. Tears bead on your lash line. He has to rub his inevitable victory in your face. You don’t know how you’re going to continue. How you can even stand the sight of Arthur: of yourself. Now that he’s twisted everything out of shape to suit his needs. You should spit on him. Curse him until he gets struck down by the powers that be.
But you don’t. You aren't sure there’s any end to that. You hope to never repeat this cycle again. Where you try to pull against his control and he overpowers, strong-arming you into doing as he pleases. He gathers your tears, brushes them away. Rough calluses over the little sensory hairs on your skin.
“C’mon, sweet thing, it’s time you get what ya want, huh? Time to go home.”
UGH this arthur gets on my fucking nerves but i am so weak for him i hate his corny ass. god dark arthur is just too much for me lmaooo feedback is more than appreciated, please let me know your thoughts im begging wahhhhh

THE AVENTURINE FIC 😭😭 OH GOSH IM CRYING 😭😭
i’m so sorry, anon! here this should make it up 😭😭 the devil knows you're dead
pairing. aventurine x reader
tags/tw: fem!reader, references to a complicated childbirth, mother!reader, father!aventurine, spoilers to aventurine's real name, spoilers in reference to 2.1 trailblaze questline, aventurine’s nihilism and depression, references to death, hurt/comfort, ooc aventurine probably, i make shit up at the end because i want a happy ending—bite me.
sfw
a/n: ouchie. i finished 2.1 and it hurt. it hurt a lot. the ost for the “all the sad tales” is genuinely so beautiful. the trumpet just feels so melancholy yet hopeful it just goes so perfectly with aventurine’s story. but i need something that feels good now. ABSOLUTELY NOT PROOF-READ pt. 1
Tumblr media
“As long as you are alive, the blood of the Avgin will never run dry.”
It was cold. Cold and warm. Almost feverish feeling. The type of feeling you’d get when you were freezing but your skin was hot to the touch. There was this frustrating beeping noise somewhere off in the distance that you just couldn’t tune out, finally you opened your eyes to see a sea of darkness, and seemingly at an unreachable horizon, a large circle of white light that looked like a gate.
“You’re not dead, if that’s what you’re wondering,” a voice came from beside you. How you didn’t realize there was a whole person standing next to you, you had no clue.
“Well, that’s not originally what I was going for, but now I’m a bit worried I might be,” you laughed, nervous, but curious all the same. This… person you couldn’t quite make out an exact face, or even a body for that matter, but ther was this distinct feeling that it was in fact a person. Like your instinct knew, but your brain couldn’t quite fill in the details.
“This is a place beyond mortal comprehension, if I tried to explain it to you, you would only be more confused. Walk with me,” the entity said, and without even willing your body to do so, you followed. Ripples emanated from each step as you followed and soon the inky void around you melted into an unfamiliar planet.
The sky was a deep purple, streaked with red that looked like lighting that crackled along the sky. Instead of the fluid, black ground, sand now shifted as you moved foward. Inside a small hut made of rock, you saw a woman cradling a swaddled child.
“Such a lucky child, such a blessed child… Just like your name. A gift from THEM to Avgin… my boy…”
You turned to the figure beside you and hesitantly asked, “Where are we?”
“A land of rock, but not water, lightning, but not rain, blood, but not tears,” the entity responded cryptically, which only caused a crease in your brow. You went closer to the mother in the hut and sat next to her. She whispered a blessing onto her child, but none of the words made sense to your ears. Similar to the entity, it’s like your brain scrambled them from your understanding.
The mother cried. You tried to wrap your arms around her to comfort her but only phased through her like a ghost. The baby too began to cry.
Then, the scene changed again, suddenly it was a cell with iron bars. A blond young man sat next to you. The blond’s gaze was downturned, but you could recognize that voice anywhere.
“—Thirty tanba… that’s all my life is worth.”
“That’s not…” you said, but realized it was all in vain. You tried again to take Kakavasha’s hands into your own. You wantd to take the cuffs off his wrists and cradle where the skin was rubbed raw.
“It's all or nothing…”
“Kakav—agh!”
Your future never existed You█ future never existed You█ future ne█er existed You█ fut███ ne█er existed You█ fut███ ne█er ████ted You█ fut███ █e█er ████ted Yo██ ██████ █e█er ████ted
Your mind felt clouded, a searing headache, followed by an inability to even pin down a coherent thought. The scene shifted once more.
“What’s going on!” you shouted at the figure that stood only silently next to you, crippled on the ground, clutching at your head, fingers pressing in to try to find the spot that would alleviate this awful pressure.
When your senses were no longer blinded by pain, you were back to that inky void you started in, but this time you weren’t alone. Not far away, maybe twenty feet or so, was your Kakavasha, and a woman you didn’t recognize.
“Why are we born into this world if it's just to die?”
You stumbled to your feet to try to run to him, but with each step closer he only got further away. He walked towards that gate of light. In your head, you heart was pounding faster and faster. You failed to catch up to him. He only got further and further away until he disappeared like fireflies dispersing into the night, “Kakavasha! No—!”
Utterly devastated, you sunk back onto your knees. You didn’t know why but you had this distinct feeling of loss. Tears rolled from your eyes freely. He… he wasn’t gone surely? The entity’s presence reappeared next to you.
“Why did you show me all of this,” you asked, not sure if you actually wanted an answer.
“Because you need to go back,” the entity answered and your jaw locked, gritting your teeth so hard they hurt.
You screamed into the void, “You’re the one who brought me here!”
“I never call anyone to me… you mortals believe that it is US that determine when your time to go is… but in truth it is your own doing, whether it is your body or your mind that gives up first,” the entity said, “It is only the strength of your will that will allow you to continue down your destined path… but many give up on that path and someone else must be chosen.”
“What does this have to do with me,” you snapped. “Why are you meddling in my life? What does Kakavasha have to do with this?”
“Kakavasha still has a long road ahead of him. I have supplemented his journey all his life. It was only recently he was able to live on his own will,” said the entity ”Your body is giving up. I do not have the power anymore to keep him alive. That lies with you.”
Your surroundings melted again. You were in a hospital room and on the bed was you. Eyes closed and steadily breathing, but your heartbeat was weak. The annoying beeping from before was louder and more prominent.
“You wanted to help him. During his past, you reached out each time. There is nothing you can do about that now, but the future and the present… you still have a choice.”
Laying a hand on your unmoving body, there was a slight resistance, but with just a bit more pressure you felt as if you could phase through it entirely.
“What do I need to do,” you asked the entity.
“Live.”
You furrowed your brow at that. Of course you wanted to live… right? The entity gestured for your hand, you obliged. Against your palm was an oddly soft feeling. Warm. Like a mother’s touch against your’s. Your palms pressed together, the entity spoke,
“May the goddess Gaiathra close HER eyes three times… Keep your blood eternally pulsing… Let your journey be forever peaceful… …and your schemes forever concealed."
You lifted your head and your “body” began to disappear similar to how Kakavasha disappeared. Just before you disappeared into sparks of golden light, you had the sense about you to ask:
“Who are you?” you felt like you were shouting, but your voice was quiet.
“You could call me Fenge Biyos.”
You opened your eyes with a deep gasp for air. Your surroundings were blurry, and you rubbed at your eyes, only to realize Kakavasha was up, standing next to your hospital bed with an anxious expression, hands already grasping the one that was wiping crust from your eyes.
“You’re awake,” he choked out, holding you as if you would break, “I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry for everything. I’m sorry I did this to you that I—”
“Kakavasha, slow down, what… why are you—no, don’t be sorry,” you finally found your words, sitting foward on the bed to wrap your arms around him. You racked your brain, trying to figure out what was going on. Your mind was still foggy, but finally that haze disappated and you remembered everything leading up to now.
Tumblr media
“Kakavasha~” you hummed in a song-like tone, a small wrapped box with a blue and purple bow tied around it. You skipped over to his desk and wrapped your arms around his shoulders where he sat, and placed the gift in front of him, laying your head on his shoulder as your arms tightly hugged him. “I have a surprise.”
He smiled with a small laugh, “Doesn’t this usually work the other way around?” He pecked a kiss onto your check before pulling the bow off and opening the lid of the box, when he froze.
The smile on your face faltered bit when he didn’t say anything after a bit. The corners of it tightened into a more forced position, “Kakavasha? You’re gonna be a papa…”
The joy in his face from earlier had completely vanished. Only replaced by a stony, cold, poker face. He pushed his chair back and you stumbled into the wall behind. He gave you a tight smile and kissed your forehead before heading for the door and grabbing his hat. “I’ll be back later.”
With that, the door slammed shut behind him, leaving you at a loss as you fell into his chair, feeling suddenly so very empty in this large office alone.
He came back after that, apologetic for leaving you, but nothing felt truly right. He continued to reassure you that he did want to have this child, but it was a strenous time. The entire pregnancy was stressful. The doctors warned you that the level of stress you were under put you at risk for a premature birth, but you brushed them off. It was just the hormones, you were sure. Kakavasha still loved you. The ring on your finger should’ve been proof enough of that.
“How about the name Ilyas?” you suggested, laying your head on Kakavasha’s lap, “I was… looking at some databases about Avgin names and I thought that one was nice. What do you think?”
Aventurine hummed, but his mind seemed elsewhere. You let it go.
The next few months continued on in similar fashion.
But it all came to a head.
The two of you were standing in the kitchen. It had started off small. The hormones and the stress were getting to you. It was an off hand comment about him not fixing dinner, and you were tired and hungry from carrying around his child.
From there it had escalated. It turned into you were tired of feeling like you were walking on eggshells when you talked about the pregnancy. About how he was barely around for the appointments, and when he was he seemd emotionally distant… finally he exploded
“I never asked for this!” he shouted. “When did I ever say I wanted to be a father? Did you even ask me? Did you think about what I felt about this whole thing at all?”
You paused, feeling tears well up in your throat as a white-hot fear flashed through your body. You laughed, a hollow sound, “I’m sorry, Aventurine, I thought it took two people to make a baby? And you certainly made no attempt to use protection.”
He didn’t have anything to say about that. Even though the argument seemed over, you felt a nauseous feeling crawling up in your throat. Your tears felt like acid burning through your skin. Then a pain in your stomach. Your knees gave out and the last thing you remember was the scared expression on Kakavasha’s face before it all went dark.
Tumblr media
“I was scared…. I was so scared that bringing another Avgin into this world would only bring misfortune onto you… that Gaiathra Triclops would take you from our child, just like my mother was taken from me,” he openly cried into your shoulder. “I took it out on you. I made something that should’ve been a beautiful experience something that was awful, and I understand… if you never forgive me for that but please…. please don’t leave.”
Now you were crying with him, one hand tangled in his blond locks and the other rubbing his back. Quietly, so quietly that you almost didn’t hear it, he whispered, “I can’t lose you too.”
You thought for a long time. In front of you wasn’t one of the Ten Stonehearts of the IPC. Not a calculating or cunning man, who’s only interest was in things that benefited the IPC’s bank accounts. In front of you was a broken man, who’d had everything stripped away from him when he was only a child. Who was shattered and forced to put his life back together with nothing but fear and anxiety as glue.
Did it excuse what he'd broken?
No.
“I’m here… I won’t leave Kakavasha,”
But maybe with time and effort, you could help re-glue each other with something a little more beautiful.
“Ilyas! Don’t run so far!” you called after a small blond haired child who was already ahead of you by a longshot, you turned exasperatedly to your husband, “Honey, can you go after him please? I don’t want him to get trampled by some idiot who’s not paying attention…”
The man only smiled at you, one hand firmly wrapped around your ever expanding waist, “It’s okay. There’s some of my squad that’s following him incognito. He won’t get out of our sights without them dragging him back. We can let him get his energy out. He’ll be cooped up in a hospital soon.”
You huffed conceded. Already tired from just getting through the theme park’s entrance. You were due in about two weeks, but Kakavasha was insistent that a week before you’d be under hospital supervision until you brought your second child into the world. It had taken about five years before the two of you had healed enough and there were roadbumps along the way… but you were both ready to give Ilyas a little sister.
But for now, the two of you wanted to let Ilyas have one more day as an only child. The reconstructed Penacony was nothing like the Dreamscape of the past. Fear and secrets no longer were trapped in the gilded cage of the former prison planet. With the help of the IPC and the Harmony, New Penacony was entirely real. No more dreams, just reality. They’d kept many of their old franchises and built a true theme park.
“Mama!! Picture! Let’s get a picture here before we go in!” Ilyas screeched, pointing at Clockie statue in front of the Clock Studios main attraction. You set a hand on Kakavasha’s arm, glancing up at him to try to get a read on what he was feeling. He’d let you in on the parts of his past that he’d kept a secret. The scheme behind Penacony, his proposed “death” and his encounter with his Past and Future.
He took a breathe and looked back down at you, giving you a smile that said “I’m okay” and relief flooded your bones. After walking you over in front of the camera, he crouched down and scooped Ilyas into his arms.
“Ready?” the cameraman asked and you nodded. After a brief countdown the camera flashed, and for a moment in that bright light, you saw the hopeful future that lied ahead.

a/n: this is my longest fic ever omg 😭 teehee i love adding him with cold hands🙏 this fic is inspired by falling behind by laufey, the lyrics r in between paragraphs or they’re in italic and bold !! i don’t know how to feel ab this one 😭
Tumblr media
you felt like cupid was against you. “he called me pretty y/n. he called me pretty.” enid says, clutching your hand in excitement. you notice how the sunlight hits her face perfectly, no wonder she’s got ron all over her.
and my best friend’s found a new guy
you tried hard. really hard. it was practically impossible for you to get a boyfriend. sure, you had better things to worry about, but it was hard to stop thinking about it when you saw couples everywhere you went.
you were honestly desperate at this point. it was pathetic, really pathetic. but you just couldn’t manage anymore. you wanted to have someone who would let you cry into their chest when you were low, someone who would bend down to tie your shoelaces when they were undone, someone who would love you.
like a normal teenage girl, it was no surprise that you had a crush. of course, to your luck, you didn’t have even a slim chance with him. you were naive, wanting a boyfriend but crushing on the boy who hated your guts. you had fallen in love with carl grimes.
you and the boy weren’t exactly best buddies. when you were younger, he would tease you every chance he got. it’s not so different now. carl had made it his number one priority to make your life a living hell, and oh boy, was he successful.
he was tormenting you, but not in the way he’s trying to. he was all you could think about, and it was irritating. he could be making fun of you, and all you would focus on was his pretty face.
god, his eyes were like the midwinter sky, you could stare at them all day without getting bored. you often found yourself also gazing at his lips. they would be moving but you wouldn’t hear anything. it was hard to focus on things when you were around him.
“y/n? hello.. did you not hear what i just said?” enid says, eyebrows furrowing into confusion. “no, i did- sorry. go on.” you felt bad, you knew she was happy about this. so why couldn’t you just listen and be happy for her?
“whats distracting you so much? you’re really out of it today.” she says. “nothing, it’s not important.” “you sure? seemed pre-“ you watch as she glances behind you, talking instantly coming to a stop. you notice how her face flushes before she grins. you turn around to see ron, mr. prince charming, smiling at her.
“go, we can talk tomorrow.” you say, nodding your head in ron’s direction, a slight smile appearing on your face. “thank you, thank you, thank you! i promise we’ll talk later. you can tell me all about what you were daydreaming about.” enid exclaims, quickly rising to her feet, finishing her sentence as she walks over to the lanky boy.
lovers stroll without a care in sight
you were making your way back to your house, looking down at the ground beneath you. it’s not that you were completely devastated you didn’t have a lover of your own, but you were upset. “wait up loser!” you hear a voice call out from behind you.
your footsteps come to a halt and almost instantly, carl grimes is standing next to you. you felt your heart stop. play it cool y/n. “hi..?” you wanted to smack yourself right there and then. hi?? hi?!! you were so basic. “what’s got you all quiet? you’re usually so loud, you’re kinda scaring me.” he jokes, noticing how your usual smile was turned into a slight frown.
you found it kinda weird how he noticed the little things about you. you’d known each other for years now, and if you were being honest, he probably knew you better than enid did. boy, did it give you butterflies. if only he liked you back. “m’ okay. jus thinking about something. it’s really dumb though.” “everything you say is dumb. what’s up?” there it is. the daily insult.
“like i said, it’s nothing. don’t you have something better to do?” you say, looking him in the eye. “yeah, but i think this is pretty entertaining. now, can you please tell me what’s going on in that pretty little head of yours?”
ooh, this can’t be right
you knew he was probably being sarcastic, but his words still made your heart beat faster. anything carl said made your heart beat faster.
“you really wanna know?” “have i not made it obvious enough?” he says, rolling his eyes playfully. you sigh. “don’t laugh, but it’s like- everybody’s falling in love and i’m falling behind.” “what do you mean?” he was.. interested in what you had to say?
“everyone is getting their perfect fairytale and i’m just there. enid keeps talking about ron, how he calls her pretty and everything. they’re perfect. meanwhile, no one has even had a crush on me. it’s hopeless. i’m only getting older, i’ve never had a shoulder to cry on.”
carl looked at you with sympathy. “you’re really clueless aren’t you?” he asks, chuckling. “huh?” “y/n, who do you think left the comic you really wanted on your doorstep? who do you think got you the heart locket necklace thingy for your birthday? you’ve never thought about why they were just laying there?”
“i dont- i thought it was just enid surprising me or something.” “i dont think enid sneaked out the week before your birthday to make sure you got a good gift.” he said, looking straight into your eyes. “are you saying- that’s impossible.”
“i am in love with you. that’s what i’m saying.” your eyes widened, mouth parting slightly. “but- how? you’ve hated me since we were like- i don’t even know.” “who said i hated you?” okay. what was going on? carl grimes, the boy who’s been tormenting you since you could walk is confessing his feelings to you?
he sighs. “i-i know i’ve been an asshole. and i’m sorry. i’ve just been scared.” “scared..?” you ask, a puzzled look on your face. “terrified. y/n, you’re the most beautiful girl i’ve ever laid eyes on. i don’t- i didn’t know how to express my feelings. so i’ve just been being a pain in the ass. i know you don’t like me, and tha-“
you closed the space between you two, instantly laying your lips onto his. you didn’t know what was happening, but you knew you weren’t going to waste this opportunity.
one of his hands found its way to your back, pulling you closer. you felt the other one rest upon your cheek. the only thing that was surfacing in your mind was how good the sensation of his lips on yours felt. it was purely euphoric.
as soon as you both parted lips, you already missed it. “what does this mean? w-what are we?” you ask, voice quieter than usual. his cold hands reached for yours, a nervous expression on his face.
“i really wanna be yours. only if you’ll let me.” his words rang throughout your head, the words not processing.
“i really want you to be mine, carl grimes.”
“then i’m all yours, sweet girl.”
everybody’s falling in love
