🎶✨ when u get this u have to put 5 songs u actually listen to. then send this ask or tag 10 of your favourite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool)✨🎶
i'll kill you for cursing me @unclekow
the best way to describe what im listening to at any given moment is that im either playing the soundtrack to an anime that only exists in my head or attempting to block out all psychic attacks inflicted upon me from the world with the power of jazz and 90's/00's japanese alt rock and hip hop.
Get Down to Business, aka the Order Sol Theme by Daisuke Ishiwatari
It's the Sol Badguy music. It's the ultimate cool old guy who sucks music. I have a cool old guy who sucks that I've been thinking about. It's important for my delusions.
Lay Back by Lotus Juice
I am a *very* big fan of acoustic hip-hop, and I also really like japanese rap. I haven't actually listened to Lotus Juice that much (my teenage years were still defined squarely by Nujabes and his contemporaries!) but I've found this introduction to his work to be interesting! I'm looking forward to listening to more of it.
P.H.D. - Portable Headphone Dancefloor by 2mello
You, a buffoon, might say its cheating to list a whole album. I, a genius, would claim that its sacrilege to not treat a house mix as one whole song. If I were to take a single pick from it, dreamin on its own is probably my favorite track out of it all, so much so that I have spliced it out and extended it for my own listening. I've been a fan of 2mello for awhile now and I can safely say that every album he makes is my favorite of his until he makes the next.
Ka Bohaleng / On the Sharp Side by Abel Selaocoe
I don't talk about it much, but I was actually raised in a family that practiced and professionally performed Traditional West African Drum and Dance. As a result, I've always been partial to traditional/ethnic music worldwide, especially African music, and Abel Selaocoe is like the holy grail of such. His work can be described as "classically trained baroque that is distinctly African in nature," and I regularly stream his live performances and studio album. If there is anything in this list I would beg you hear, it is this song, and to a further extent, his performance at Cologne Jazzweek.
Akaneiro ga Moeru Toki/茜色が燃えるとき by Scoobie Do
This thing snuck up on me towards the start of the summer and blew my tits clean off. I'm a person very much trapped in the pre-2010's, especially the late 90's-late aughts. As I get older, I lean less and less towards new media and instead indulge in rediscovering older stuff. I have never watched a Gungrave. I have never played a Gungrave. But I have managed to get my hands on the majority of Scoobie Do's discography and play it regularly. The band is still active, but like all things, I am obsessed with their mini-album Kaze no Koibito, which has this song on it. Please listen to this song and please listen to Scoobie Do. The band is called Scoobie Do man, just do it.
HONORABLE MENTION:
Sleepy Head by the pillows
Earlier this spring, I finally watched Fooly Cooly for the first time ever, after maybe 6 years of people twice my age asking why I had never seen it when it seemed to be so completely grafted to my tastes. Well I did, and then I immediately drew my catgirl holding a guitar because of it. I'm not normal after that show. "Why did they keep asking you why you'd never seen it" I hear you asking. *ahem*
Because I've been listening to its soundtrack and the rest of the pillows discography since I was like. Twelve.
Don't ask me how I found it because I do not know. But between Ride on Shooting Star and this, I've returned to the FLCL soundtrack maybe once every 2 months for about a decade. This isn't propaganda to watch the anime, but it is propaganda to listen to the soundtrack.
@teffiniwynn, @kdinjenzen, @puyopuyo, @shukitanuki, @qwk, @lamphoera, @yuleloggu, @alien-tidays, @girlballs, @ockitten
im gonna go daydream about cringe shit goodnight

Brushes And Beats chapter: 02
pairing: JiminxReader
genre: fluff with a pinch of angst
trope: enemies to lovers
:That one moment when you realize that...You are screwed:
I'm lying on my stomach and I press my cheek into my pillow. My body had grown restless and hungry, I felt as if I'm floating and yet I felt everything...There was someone else there with me, his body naked... He's braced over me, pressed against my back,
he twists his hips to grind himself against my butt, His fingertips smooth along the sides of my breasts. His exhale steams against my neck. He's heavy. Sensitive parts of me burn to live. I scratch my fingertips against the sheets until they burn with friction. Then he shifted just a bit perhaps it was to kiss me, as I moved to the side the man was no longer faceless, first came the sharp jawline, moving up I saw his defined cheekbones, he was so close that all I could see was his perfectly sculpted lips parted in a gentle sigh and then he moved farther away and I saw him...Jimin
I jolted up from my bed with a racing heart and beads of sweat glistening on my forehead, I just had a wet dream about Jimin. I couldn't decide what to do. Finish the job, or take a cold shower? In the end, all I do is lie there. RING RING I hear my phone buzz, its Fumi
"I had a dream...uhh a wet dream...about Jimin"
"Good morning to you too?" Fumi replies and then continues with "You've been at each others' butt for the past 6 years this had to happen" I let out a sigh as I'm still processing what had happened "Y/n, let go get Starbucks and you can rant while I nod ok?"
"yeah," I replied as I remembered the time I first met Jimin.
________________________________________________________________________________
It was a sunny afternoon in the bustling city of Seoul, I just graduated from beauty school, Being one of the top students, I was given job offers from several makeup studios, But I had a target, I wanted to work under Jung Saem Mool, she is one of the most talented and renowned artists out there, she usually works with celebrities however with luck in my favor I actually had an offer from her studio. My life has finally taken the turn I had always dreamed.
Months passed and as time flew Jung Saem Mool's reputation also grew, she announced that we will be working under a label from now on, which happened to be HYBE. I was thrilled about the opportunity to work with such a prestigious label and potentially get the chance to work with some big names in the industry.
As fate would have it, one of those big names turned out to be none other than Jimin's. I couldn't believe my luck when my name got announced while they were forming teams.
"He is so well-behaved, we will have a good time working together", Fumi whispered, I met her in the studio, well you could say we bonded over our shared obsession with K-drama and K-pop.
The first time I laid eyes on Jimin, my heart skipped a beat as he walked into the green room to get ready for a shoot, his presence radiated charisma no wonder he is the It-boy of Korea. I glanced at him, as he shot his killer smile to everyone, "Hello everyone!" he greeted " Thank you for having me here, I hope to have a successful shoot with you all, FIGHTING" he put his fists up making us all mimic his gesture, He is so dreamy.
As I'm still a newcomer...kinda, I was a backup for the lead makeup artists, they were way more experienced than me so it did make sense, I would sometimes help with the brushes, go get water for everyone, and sit around doing nothing
Brushes-water-chair
BRUSHES-WATER-CHAIR
BRUSHES-WATER-CHAIR
If you haven't noticed, my excitement level dropped, I get it that I'm inexperienced WELL HOW CAN I LEARN IF IM NOT DOING ANYTHING? I looked over to Fumi across the room, we shared the same state. All that excitement for nothing
"Well, it didn't go as we expected it to go," I said with a scowl on my face. "I was ranting to Lucy, a while ago, apparently it took her two years to actually start working. TWO YEARS Y/N TWO YEARS!" Fumi exclaimed, clearly frustrated with our current situation, I fake cried at her outburst, dramatically wiping away my nonexistent tears. "I mean it's like getting paid for sitting around...it's not so bad" Fumi chuckled at my comment "Hey at least our assigned client turned out to be a good one...he is so, picture perfect" I can't help but think of the pressure that must be on him to maintain his picture-perfect status, Thats pitiful at the same time it's impressive.
Days passed, and my interactions with Jimin were limited to brief greetings or when I was fetching water from the team. "Y/n, can you grab me a water bottle?" Jimin asked with a smile as he pointed to the table of stacked drinks, I nodded grabbing the water bottle and handing it to him returning the smile.
"Gather round, everyone!" the manager called out, holding everyone in a circle as we gathered, eagerly anticipating what the manager had to say. "I hope everyone is here, anyways...Jimin will be shooting live today, so I want no mess-ups or delays, got it?" The manager's words hung in the air as we all nodded in agreement. As time progressed the day became hectic with the crew rushing around to ensure everything was in place. I found myself caught up in the whirlwind of activity, trying my best to assist wherever I could.
At one point, I got tasked with touching up Jimin's make-up FINALLY SOME WORK "Just put a little mascara, it will lift his eyes"
I carefully applied the mascara to Jimin's lashes, trying my best to be precise and not let my nervousness show. As I focused on my task, Jimin glanced at me through the mirror and smiled. And that smile, oh that smile. That smile sent my heart racing and my palms sweating. My fingers trembled slightly as I continued to apply the mascara, trying to keep my composure despite the growing butterflies in my stomach. "You're doing great," Jimin said, his voice filled with genuine appreciation. ANGEL
The shot was ready, and as Jimin stepped on stage, the crowd erupted in cheers. The energy in the room was electric, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride knowing that I had played a small part in getting him ready for this moment. As Jimin performed, his talent radiated from the stage, captivating everyone in the audience. It was at that moment that I truly understood why Jimin had such a dedicated fanbase.
The stage was interesting, filled with vibrant lights, smoke machines and sprinkle heads
hey they use it to make rain in the movies, rain,
RAIN AS IN WATER.
The realization hit me the mascara I used was not waterproof, by the time I could tell my supervisor about my mistake, It was too late and Jimin's face was already covered in the streaks of black liquid running down his cheeks, I saw the panic in my supervisor's eyes as she rushed to me
"DID YOU NOT USE WATERPROOF MASCARA" I froze at the moment, a feeling of fear and guilt washed over me as I stammered out an apology.
Chapter 03 will soon be posted today, after you know the editing. I HOPE YOU LIKE THIS CHAPTER

now that we have all 18 i'm posting my personal project voltage ranking :]
PSYCHIC TYPE MIKU - 4/10 it's fine. its the closest to base miku of all the designs? like this is what i'd imagine if we got a miku collab in the newest games. nothing about ti really says psychic type to me though, which is why its low
GRASS TYPE MIKU - 2/10 i hate this design. not only is it boring but i don't like the colours, i think it looks messy and it might be the style disconnect or the design itself but if you didn't tell me who this was i wouldn't think it was miku. a grass type cheerleader doesn't sound like a bad shout which is why im so sad it sucks
FIRE TYPE MIKU - 5/10 . its just basic. it gets one point more than psychic because i have fire type bias but other than that its underwhelming. idk whats going on with her legs either? is it like exposed robotics? idk its just a miss for me
WATER TYPE MIKU - 8/10 this is so cute. the water textured hair, the tan lines, the like lifeguard gear(?) and the pokeball beach ball? it all comes together so well. i don';t think you can really go wrong with a water type design? even if i don't love water types myself you can't deny their designs just come together
ELECTRIC TYPE MIKU - 10/10 oh baby girl my BIAS i fucking love electric miku. shifting her blue accents into green, giving her a suit and making her a split-dye blonde were all such good decisions. i love the silhouette of the big puff pants tucked into the rubber boots and the suspenders with the lightening cane. everything about this makes me so happy
NORMAL TYPE MIKU - 9/10 i might be going back on what i said with psychic miku but to me even though it's very reminicant of base miku, it works better AND does enough to set her in her own typing. the multicoloured accessories, the rings, the glasses and the body suit. if we ever did get a real collab of her in game i hope this is the direction they'd go
ICE TYPE MIKU - 8/10 full disclaimer so much of this is just because im obsessed with her hair and suit combo. shes not outright evil looking like dark type but i still feel like shes a rival with a lot of power, anbd tbf a lot of ice type characters are made to be Icy in personality. my only gripes are the red bag chain and the open heels
ROCK TYPE MIKU - 6/10 its fine! it might be because i dont like the colour scheme or that i'm not a huge fan of all the flowy fabric, (especially because it directly follows ice type miku which made a point to utalise the sharpness you'd associate with ice) but i just doesn't wow me.
GROUND TYPE MIKU - 7/10 i really love this design, i adore the colour scheme and the cactus braids, i think she looks like a trainer you'd be ambushed by in the desert and the soundtrack would kick up and it'd RULE... my drawback is i don't think she looks like miku? i thought she was gumi at first and now i can't really unsee it. but eh im nitpicking
FLYING TYPE MIKU - 5/10 again, i like it but its very standard for a flying type character. the cloud braids and the sheer sleeves are fun! they're definately my favouritre part of the design. idk why her legs are painted white, i think they look kind of silly and im confused about the platform sandles but other than that its fine
FAIRY TYPE MIKU - 6/10 a cute miku design for a cute pokemon type, can't really go wrong with that. i enjoy that they didn't go lolita style with her, which i fully assumed was going to the case, but instead a gal type with the fake nails and pleat skirt. i enjoy that its a different way of doing a look for miku we've seen plenty of times before
BUG TYPE MIKU - 6/10 i don't hate it! very simple but very effective. i like the segmented limbs, the insectoid braids, the wing bow that looks like butterfly wings. i'm just not super enthusiastic about the colours. maybe i'm just used to bug types being Creepier in my head so to just have her be cutesy is boring to me
POISON TYPE MIKU - 9/10 this is such a baity designnnn the only reason i didnt give it a 10 is because i hate that shade of green but thats a personal issue. the plastic baggy shoes, the toxtricity, the mad scientist goggles and latex gloves... it all comes together so beautifully. idk if its like too busy or again, maybe i just personally don't love the individual colours used. i really hope elements of this design are used for a future character
GHOST TYPE MIKU - 4/10 i honestly don't like this design. yeah lets make the ghost type miku... a ghost, and nothing else. i think it's really boring compared to all the other ones. the glitch element is really cool but that's... all thats going for it? the colour scheme is the same, the neon is boring and i think everything is very stylish for pokemon but idk i wish it was more unique
DARK TYPE MIKU - 10/10 babe holy shit. this is a gorgeous design, i'm so happy they went an evil miku route with it. i was going to say i wish there was more red, and then i noticed the underside of the hat in the other concept so i'm happy. shifting the cyan to the bottom of the design is a really good call. she looks expensive as she should
STEEL TYPE MIKU - 10/10 absolutely beautiful colour scheme, shifting everything to metalic shades of blue is perfect. i think it's my favourite overall. very strong typing without them just doing Robot which i assumed. LOVE the metal braids with the welded patches the most, and i jsut noticed theyre kind of shaped like leeks. the charm on the sandogasa and the arm/calf guards really bring it all together
FIGHTING TYPE MIKU - 8/10 the black, white and orange is gorgeous and i love the splash of green connecting to sir farfetched. i'm just not inlove with the leg split tbh, i think if it was a cape i'd like it more. i think my main drawback is idk it doesn't scream fighting type to me other than it being based on the pokemon
DRAGON TYPE MIKU - 9/10 AND IMMEDIATELY MY PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED. the cape really completes the knight motif of this design perfectly where i think the previous one lacked. the scale decor jumpsuit, the gauntlets and boots, the SWORD MIC and the tail braids. they really did keep getting better and whilst this isnt my favourite its such a strong finisher

My Top 5 Cartoons of the Decade
The 2010′s was the decade my interest and love of cartoons soured. It was also the decade where the cartoon industry made leaps. I wanted to list my favorite TV shows from the 2010′s mostly for my own pleasure. In no particular order.
Hilda
This show is an aesthetic. Its an experience. A lot of people described this show as Adventure time crossed with Gravity Falls. That’s true but its also SO MUCH MORE. I was so immersed in the world and the characters. Hilda, David, Alfur, and Frida are great. The story-lines are really well written and every time a new creature or aspect of the world was introduced i just wanted to know MORE. The colors are so satisfying. Like, the show just really nice to look at. Like i said, its an aesthetic. Also, that intro song is everything.
Netflix, I want a season 2.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Currently my favorite show, will probably be my favorite for a really long time. Why did I choose this over 2012 Tmnt? Lots of reasons, but what i like most about this show is that its different. Its a HUGE deviation from any other Tmnt series we’ve seen, and people HATED it because of that at first. But the fact that the show is different is its strongest suit. Its new, and its exciting and i could go on and on about it. I love the relationship the boys have. Like, there are two types of relationships they could have: Really annoyed by each other most of the time, bonding occasionally(i.e every other tmnt series) or love each other all the time and annoy each other occasionally, which is Rottmnt and i love that. The brotherly dynamic is so good. I hardly even notice that Raph is the leader because they act as equals all the time. The VA is phenomenal, the animation and character chemistry is beautiful and i just have so much good to say about this show, lets move on.
Over The Garden Wall
I said the Hilda was an aesthetic but this show is just a world of its own. I will watch this show every year for Halloween. Im a sucker for anything having to do with Halloween or autumn and this show goes hard on both of these, but that’s just what i love about it aesthetically. I loved Wirt and Greg and Beatrice and their story and journey. Everything is so immersive. The atmosphere, the story, the MUSIC i love all of it. OTGW is definately one of my favorite animated series of all time.
Gravity Falls
OH this one was good. I think this was the show that made me realize i had an obsession with cartoons. This show has tens in ever category. Story, Writing, Characters(iffy about Mabel but i still love her) just everything about this show worked for me. It also has one of the best finales I've ever watched. I can gladly say that this show turned me into the cartoon junkie.
The Amazing World of Gumball
This show is the pinnacle of comedy. Like, no show has ever given me as many belly laughs as Gumball has. The writing and the jokes are so sharp you could cut yourself on them. Its hilarious. I’m not gonna let its terrible ending ruin my opinion of the show which is that it is the funniest thing to ever grace my TV screen.
I have SO many T.V shows from this decade that I just love. Ya’ll know Tfa would’ve been on this list but that’s 2007. Here’s an honorable mentions list cuz damn I love these shows.
Ok K.O! Lets Be Heroes!
Followed this show forever and had a heart attack when there were rumors that it would be cancelled. The last season really kicked it up to a 10.
Star Vs the Forces of Evil
The characters and story in this show were really strong. The romance sub plots were dumb as hell most of the time but I fell in love with all of the characters.
Infinity Train
NEW SEASON COMING SOON WOOOOOO! I cant wait to see more of this show! This show awoke the theorist in me and i cant stop thinking about what everything means, and how the train works, and the multiverse and it stimulates my brain a lot and i don’t know why. Its just such an interesting concept and i cant wait to uncover more.
So yeah. Props to you if you made it this far. Happy New Year!
#not a single damn person will read this thing#BUT I DONT CARE I LOVE THESE SHOWS#urban posts#cartoon#amazing world of gumball#ok ko let's be heroes#infinity train#star vs the forces of evil#Hilda#rottmnt#OTGW#Gravity falls#this is a mess but im happy with it

For the Love of Socionics
First I find it important to note here that I am not necessarily promoting this concept; I just thought it was interesting to discuss.
As such, I will try both to present it as the concept as it was so you can form your own opinion but aso add my own thoughts/ comments later.
So, today’s concept: Love, as in, human attachment bonds, or depending on whom you ask, the ideal, “true” state thereof.
It’s a word that has been used to mean many things in many context and ppl spend thick lyrical volumes debating its meaning so ever since the olden days ppl have been looking in ways to characterize it futher, all the way from modern terminology desgned to describe, say, a-spec people, to the most basic stuff drawn up by the ancient greeks.
Just like they gave us one of the first personality theories (the 4 temperaments), they codified the “Four Loves” at least for the western sphere of culture.
Turns out some socionists also got in on the act, and speculated about a connection to the Funktions!
But let’s start at the beginning:
The Classical List
Eros - Romantic Love (Romantic as in “couple” not as in “poetic and idealized”)
Philia - The infamous Power of Friendship!
Storge - Family Bonds
Agape - “Spiritual”/Selfless Love
At first, this was a sharp classification of the basic kinds of bonds that humans form in their many relationships: You have your folks, partner(s) and friends and they’re distinct in a couple of ways, as is the kind of idealistic drive that might drive you to risk your life to protect a fellow vhuman being or care for the downtrodden out of charity.
For example, you generally screw your girlfriend (unless you’re ace of course), but many would find the very thought of doing that with family, longtime friends or favorite deity hugely gross; You choose your friends and partners (well, hopefully), but you’re just stuck with your family (unless you’re adopted)...
You can tell by the brackets that things are a bit more complicated than just those sharp delineations - You can, for example, be best friends with your girlfriend, regard either your lifelong friend or spouse of many decades as part of the family, and many a parent would sacrifice everything for their child...
Often enough these are seen as all having their place and importance, though sometimes people would imagine a hierarchy here somewhere, depending on their culture - The ancient greeks being kinda misogynist devalued Eros as inferior to Philia as an equal bond, as do many “My spouse is such a nag!” type people im told are still around today, whereas modern believers in the “friendzone” seem to see Friendship as a consolation prize if not an insult (??because the worst thing ever is ??Cogeniality??), a lot of cultures insist you should obey your parents over everything even if they’re abusive asshats and of course religion always claims that invented and has the monopoly on any important human universals and praise abnegation as the highest good; Certainly the love of gods (particulary the monotheistic sort) for their creations is often described as such unconditional sacrifice, while those same religions decry attraction they disagree with as “low, carnal urges” to the point that medieval clerics questioned wether women have souls (because everyone is hetero & ladies don’t exist outside of being ppl’s wives amiright?)
It’s worth noting that various ancient societies had something like “blood brothership” which was for best friends was marriage is for romantic partners in that you could get some legally binding, indefinite formalization that made you part of each other’s clans. Meanwhile a romantic partner who is also a good friend is basically what people call a “soulmate” once you strip away the supernatural predestination myths around it; It’s sure how the Sims 4 implemented that XD
And obvsly we no longer see these as restricted to gender in that way. Two dudes can have eros. A guy and a chick can be friends.
And speaking of “low carnal urges” obviously shallow infatuation exists, but can’t friendship or family likewise driven by base instincts, such as they monkey drive for social rank and influence and the urge to procreate and make/raise babies which is probably older than pair-bonding. (which resulted in the potential for romance - a lot of animals just screw and are done with it.) Abusive Parents and fairweather friends everywhere attets that true love of any flavor can be hard to find.
Agape doesn’t really have a primal counterpart like that because it requires the human ability to even conceive of a “greater good” or “ideal” but in devotion there’s the danger ofyour kindness being abused, as well as that of zealotry - people who would kill or die for their ideologies, gods and dictators.
So perhaps a more differentiated view would be as these things as phenomena that can but don’t have to co-occurr depending on the relationship, all of wichhave their good and bad sides - you can have a perfectly fine “girlfriend” or a more ambitious “soulmate” and likewise a “buddy” or a “blood-brother” etc.. and those would not be the same.
Likewise further concepts have been identified and added, often in the more specfific context of various components for a romantic relationship to have, though you could quantify any sort of human attachment through various combinations.
Extended List
Eros - The one strictly romantic or at least sensual aspect. Attraction to the partner’s beauty and other sensual attributes, and also expressed through physical touch, closeness, a lot of togetherness and sexuality (Though Boinking is not strictly required; Be it because of young age, orientation or circumstances preventing the couple from doing the deed.) A passionate type of bond that can form quickly and involve an element of loss-of-control. This can, however, lead to impulsive actions, Soap Opera plots and burn itself out unless there’s something deeper connecting the partners.
Philia - The defining ingredient of friendships. A bond based on mutual sympathy. The involved parties enjoy each other’s company, find each other’s character appealing and may share common interests, opinions , hobbies or joint pursuts. Ideally this would be an equal bond that is all about giving each other freedom, echanging ideas and supporting each other through cameraderie. This one is largely unrelated to physical characteristics - Indeed most of ppl’s friends will not be romantic partners. On the other hand people who look for this sort of dynamic in a romantic partner will care more for personality and commonalities than looks.
Storge - Affectionate attachment based on familiarity. This can be the stuff of family bonds but also what you feel toward old childhood friends or pets, but also perhaps when you take a caretaking role towards a spouse, between a mentor a disciple, or in ‘found family’ type dynamics. It is mosty formed just by living in close proximity, and represents a source of stability and repose, but also a sharing of duties and responsibilities. This is perhaps one of the more ‘mundane’ bond flavors, but also one that engenders the strongest loyalty, even if the person screws up big - After all, Ohana means nobody gets left behind. If this type of bonds are high on your priority list, you will want to get to know the person well before opening up or comitting to anything.
Agape - Selfless Love - based on empathy and compassion for one’s fellow beings and the desire for their happiness with no expectation of reward.. Self-Sacrificing, unconditional, idealistic and far removed from the realm of material concerns and thus at times described as ‘divine’ or ‘spiritual’ - what we know as Charity, Altriusm and forgiveness. Random acts of kindness and thankless work for the greater good are classic examples; In an interpersonal context, it means to place the other person’s happiness before your own and accept them as they are. If this is a priority for you, you may be looking for an idealized, profound bond and be willing to be giving and devoted in return, but you’ll do well to keep your own needs and limits in mind.
Ludus - Playful love. Attachment and everything related to it as a source of personal pleasure, as well as pleasure as an aspect of relationships. Often involves some manner of sensuality or sexuality, but in contrast to eros, the primary emotions here are freedom, excitement and satisfaction. This is usually present at the ‘getting to know’ phase of a relationship, but can also be pursued for its own sake through conversational flirting, ‘just for fun’ sex and all manner of kinky stuff. A lot of relationships fail because the partners failed to keep alive a spark of playfulness through the years - but on the downside, there’s a risk for irresponsible behavior - So make sure to use condoms and establish clear communications so no one gets their heart broken.
Mania - Dramatic Love. The intense, consuming, shakespearian sort of love that many poems, songs and stories were written about - though this may also be felt toward someone one simply admires. Involves dynamic feelings centered on the partner, who is held in high esteem while the relationship itself is given high importance. Interactions with the partner strongly influence the person’s mood, leading to pronounced moods that go through ups and down; At the heart of the matter is a subliminal desire to receive validation from the partner - but if said partner is not really the Mania sort, there’s a chance that they might be spooked or overwhelmed instead. In excessive extremes, this can lead to disproportionate jealousy or even obsession.
Pragma - Sometimes called ‘enduring love’ but in itself probably best described as the relationship between allies, it is a bond pursued for and sustained by practical, reasonable concerns, to be willing and able to work together toward joint or individual goals, to put in effort, patience and tolerance, and make compromises in order to make things work and mantain the relationship throughout the drudgery of everyday life. The partners are drawn together by common priorities, compatible views, dependability and having compatible life plans. This is glue that keeps a good working relationship or lasting arranged marriage going, though any bond may need its share of this in order to stand the test of time, be it a friendship or a romance. People for whom this is a high priority often show that they care by helping you in everyday practical matters - however, they can also have pretty high standards and expectations for their relationships
Philautia - Self-Love or Self-respect. Not really to do with interpersonal attachment per se, but obviously relationships can impact it for better or for worse, and likewise this helps us to choose good relationships.
As if those weren’t enough, the person who made this paper - a certain Mr. Meged - made up some of his own which he felt still merited terms:
Meged’s Additions
Victoria - Love as conquest, that is, interpersonal relationships as a means to “win” recognition, respect or the attention of everyone around, to seek stimulation in the thrill of satisfied ambition or vanity. Despite or perhaps because of that, they prefer and respect potential partners who present them with a bit of a challenge or surprise; In that case they show their interest through vying for, if not demanding the person’s attention in which they can be somewhat persistent. This probably why people like stuff like Dominance-and_submission roleplays, sexy vampires, or the Princess-In-The-castle trope, and why phrases like ’you belong to me’ are sometimes considered romantic or hot. Sometimes ppl with this as their main approach to bonding can be somewhat inconstant, or selfish especially if they’re extroverts (since there are always new ‘conquests’), the introverts may prefer a stable uncomplicated setup.
Analita... eh that word sounds too much like a fancy term for buttsex imma just gonna say “Analytic Love.”, meaning something in the direction of ‘fascination’, yet more specific than that. These folks are typically reserved and try to analyze the object of their fascination from the distance, with a marked intellectual component - They try to understand how the other person “works”, that is to analyze their behavior and find connections betwenn their actions and reactions. The goal is to have the partner “figured out” by means of building a logical model of them, but when something doesn’t quite fit into it, they might just pique their curiosity even more and lead them to make futher observations to “observe” that model, which often has an abstracting-generalizing nature - indeed folks for whom this is a they have an idea of what a relationshgip should be like in terms of guiding logical principles on which they may not readily compromise - they’re looking to balance both their physical desires and intellectual needs and are drawn to people who are dynamic enough to be interesting to them, yet consistent enough. so even though they don’t idealize the partner or relationship the way some of the more ‘dynamic-feelsy’ flavors do, they can be picky and liable to dissapointment.
A/N: I do think that these are Things and that there should be words for these. I was actually looking for a word for the later or perhaps something more general than that. I mean these definitions are ovsl. a bit too tailor-made for what he was gonna do with them, but I do think he’s onto something more universal there.
But why, why couldn’t he pick something that sounds less like “Anal”? I finally find a word for this and then I can’t use it, because butt.
So what was this dudes’ point?`Well, he though that each function came with a characteristic type or range of them feels and therefore an affinity to a characteristic flavor in their attachments.
In particular, he drew these associations:
The Theory
Victoria and Se. Because socionics Se is aggrotastic anyways; There’s sure a tendency strive toward status, mastery/competition and stimulation/ excitement that is probably reflected in the courtship process as it is everywhere else.
Eros and Si - Largely drawing this connection because of the ‘sensual’ aspect, but also note that SJs tend to seek a harmony in both a physical and feelsy sense resulting in great loyalty and a willingness to overlook some of the partner’s flaws for the sake of stability and work to and create a nice environment for them, if anything they may try to adapt their partner to their needs - that said if they do not find the desired harmony, they will get dissapointed and part ways with their partner easily.
Philia and Ne - Bond will be based on a kinship of ideas, interests and motives and an underlying friendship with a sense of deep respect and understanding. A relatively selective mechanism that primarily unites like-minded people and stimulates growth of capability. To these folks equality is very important, so coercion or dictates and won’t remain loyal to anyone who dissapoints them, and, if the parther is too different in their thinking or doesn’t meet their expectations, they part ways without much regret.
Storge and Fi. A tenderness that includes deep understanding and compassion, complete with the ability to compromise and smooth over disagreement. These folks will characteristiclyshow much solidarity to their partner, leniency towards their shortcommings and a general striving toward a harmonious, stable, pleasant and laid-back style of interaction. It’s mostly about a connection of the sould more than anything else, but its crucial that the partner shows sensitivity.
Agape and Ni - Because they’re all abstrac-y and conceptual I guess.
Analita and Ti - Well yeah, he clearly made it up to fit this b/c he didn’t find a more fitting word in literature - that said he’s already heavily bending the definitions with some of these. (especially eros & Storge, for exam, ple; That’s not rly what was originally meant by that though I guess I see where he sees the applicability)
Pragma and Te - Choses partner by sober, pragmatic and ‘sensible’ parameters. Though the importance given to one’s personal priorities can be read as ‘egocentric’ , these folks are in fact oriented toward a ‘fair’ balance of giving and receiving, and presumes that one respect and understands the partner; There is a strivng toward the satisfaction of mutual interests.
Mania and Fe - desire for prolonged emotional intensity and exaggerated valuation of the relationship. This can be a a dramatic, demanding, evem possesive feeling with a fierce desire for complete reciprocation, but is at the same time capable of great compromise sacrifice and endurance. These are the sort of couples that argue a lot as changeable, dynamic, momentary moods play a big role.
Then, of course, it does was socionics often does and spends the greater part of the article bending into a pretzel in order to hamfist perfectly fine observations or ideas in that forced duality framework.
For the last time, Mister, I am NOT marrying an ESFJ!
(No offense to the ESFJs. I’m pretty sure they would want to marry me even less, especially since this Meged guy recommends that you do all the household chores for me like TF? How can “One person does all the work” remotely considered a functioning relationship?)
My 2cents
Hm...
I mean there are 2 basic ideas in here that I think should be differiented here -
A - that functions, especially the ego block functions, influence bonding behavior in specific ways and that it’s worth exploring what those specificificities are.
B - that those specifics are as postulated above, and that doesn’t have me wholly convinced.
Amusingly enough it seems to fit my priorities pretty well where my own main functions are considered - part of me is relieved to see that there’s a word for the Ti thing & how it’s actually very different to what the Te folks have going on, “logical principles” feature in more as general laws of whats fair & reasonable & you might pursue a not wholly reasonable in a Te sense connection because it’s interesting - in a way its closer to what Fi ppl do in that sense of wanting to “understand” the other person, but also very different in some parts, especially in the lack of that idealization Fi sometimes has - Your average TP is probably very aware of their loved ones’ character flaws, doesn’t place any exaggerated importance on relationships and won’t take anyone’s side just because they like them - it depends on wether they’re right or wrong, after all.
But IDK about the rest.
Many of the Fi users I know would indeed be in the “cute and stable” flavor of bonding and likewise I’ve encountered some SPs who were very much natural tops or Ni doms with a hidden romantic side (which I’d blamed on tert Fi TBH) but I’d hesitate to make that generalization - We can think of Fi users what we’d rather sort into the Mania or Agape categories, with the Fe users yeah the dramatic sort exist but the “reasonable, reliable, srz bzness” ones that would go in a Pragma or Agape direction are probably the majority and the Si one doesn’t seem to make sense at all?
What do you guys think? After all I don’t really have first hand experience with, say, a high Si user’s POV.
Random idea/speculation:
Could this be an enneagram thing instead, again with a proportionality related to stuff like wings & trifixes?
1 - Agape
2 - Eros
3 - Pragma
4 - Mania
5 - Analita.
6 - Storge.
7 - Ludus
8 - Victoria
9 - Philia

Anonymous said:have you heard about bts performing on the american music awards? frankly i'm not too excited about it .,,
i think it’s great’ i just wish they performed something else than DNA, cause DNA is not... good
Anonymous said:Did you see the video of Jimin leaving the airport? Apparently, security guards had to hold him up to keep him from fainting :(
yeah i saw it, i’m glad he seems to be okay now
Anonymous said:I know we are not in Jimins brain but i wish a part of this fandom would stop being two faced about his weight and his body. All this fake concern about his eating habits are annoying when at the same time the same ppl are obsessing (yes, keyword: obsessing) about his "sharp jawline", collarbones, defined thighs and abs. Watching him talking so lightly about his crash diets is a red flag as well as his vlive where he literally forces himself to eat in front of us. Im sooo worried for him omg
i wouldn’t say it’s fake concern and i wouldn’t judge people about it like that, it’s a difficult topic tbh, but i am worried about him as well
Anonymous said:I've been hearing some noise about how MAMA did something that was perceived to be an attack against BTS for the mama voting. Do you have any idea what's up about that?
sorry, i’ve been away all week, but seems they’ve deleted a lot of votes even though they are legitimate? and now we are basically bound to lose
Anonymous said:How have you been? Are you having a great day/night? I hope you are! I'm just passing by to tell you that I appreciate you.
thank you ♥♥♥ i’ve been... okay..ish.. just very busy.. travelling around cause of work and school, and i still have no internet at home, so it’s hard ;; thank you, i hope you’re doing great
Anonymous said:I saw ur post abt jimin and thank god someone finally put into words what i feel! Its so upsetting to watch and honestly whenever jimin talks abt "yea i'm being healthy dont worry about me :~)" i just know he's fuckin lying and even if he wasn't he already lied abt it so much that i wouldn't believe him and it sucks. I also hate when people get so butthurt abt fans worrying abt him like listen u cant deny that theres smth terribly wrong with his behaviour ofc we're gonna worry tf?????
yeah :( like i said, people are just riding on the current wave that is going on in the fandom right now and don’t use much critical thinking for themselves which sucks, this is a different issue and it’s only natural for people to worry, how can we not it’s all happening openly right in front of our eyes

I have sold my soul to this book series
How do I begin to review something that has impacted my life so much?
If I could only read one book series for the rest of eternity, it would be this one. I’d re-read it until I know every page word for word and then I would read it again and again, I could never get tired of this book.
Brontide is a book like no other, coming from a person who devours and studies books for a living, Brontide has easily made its way to my favourite book of ever. Of all time. If you love LGBT+ romance and are into fae or gaelic lore, this is the book for you. (If this review could just be loud screaming it would accurately describe how much I love it.)
The narration is wonderful and engaging in such a way that you feel exactly how the characters feel at any given time, almost as if you can taste the food described, the feeling of the clothing worn and the racing heartbeats in your own ear. Brontide is written in a way that it draws the reader in instantly and you soon find yourself lost in the world below the Earth. The imagery is ethereal and paired with the absolutely stunning illustrations, you can really get a feel of the environment and scenery. I find myself wondering how cool the ground would feel against bare feet, the feeling of bark entwined with the walls, the sights of the throne room, grand and extravagant just as written within the pages, and how each character would stand out against the scenery.
But oh the characters !! The characters are all unique and otherworldly - I’m always swept away by their appearances and personalities, wondering each and every thought they might have had, what possessed them to do such an action? What made this character the way they are? How sharp are their lovely teeth? What kind of past does the protagonist have and will we find out? So many questions, so much material to read into, analyse and devour.
I adore the protagonists just as much as I adore the antagonist and minor characters, each lovable and charming (and deadly in one or two cases) in their own way with their own defining features and personality traits that makes them relatable but also untouchable and mystical. I could write pages and pages on each character, listing my favourite details about them and how well they are written, each interaction with a new character leaves me breathless and I have the urge to know more and more about them all.
I’ve read Brontide around five times now and each time I encounter something new - a sense of foreshadowing in dialogue I had yet to pick up on, or a certain specific detail of a character that I hadn’t considered before. I’ve come up with countless of theories and ideas of what the sequel will entail and I eagerly await to see what will or won’t happen. On each read through Im taken aback by the imagery and the tone set in each chapter, each paragraph bringing something new that I hadn’t thought about yet, or strengthening a theory or opinion I had of a character or plot point.
The lore is incredibly well thought out and has its own unique qualities to traditional fae lore. T.D. Cloud’s lore of the two courts and their construction is so interesting to me and I’ve re-read that particular scene a few dozen times trying to find hints as to what may unfold in the future or what we may learn in the upcoming books. I’ve studied various lore to try and find similarities and inspirations for the lore in Brontide and I’m eager to see how the lore develops in the rest of the Tempest Series.
There are times when this book has made me speechless, times where I want to shake the author by the shoulders and demand to know every genius thought and process that went into writing this masterpiece. A particular scene in chapter 12 left me breathless in all the right (and wrong~) ways, the noise I made was inhuman and I then proceeded to battle through my tears determined to read more and more. Brontide made me cry upon receiving the book, completely overwhelmed at how amazing the writing and illustrations are, and its a book that continues to make me cry - both out of amazement and heartbreak for the characters. I cant cant how many times I’ve cried over this book, it takes me on a rollercoaster of emotions each read through and I cant get enough. Brontide is a gateway drug.
Despite the tears I’ve shed, Brontide is one the most thrilling books I’ve read, you will cry along with the characters but also laugh and smile with them. I fell in love with the characters as they fell in love with each other - something which many romance novels fail to achieve, capturing the readers heart as well as the protagonist - yet Brontide achieved this with ease. I find myself dreaming about the characters, the two courts and the ethereal imagery presented in Brontide. Its always in my thoughts in one way or another and I am becoming obsessed with the characters. This book is entwined with my soul and I have no idea where I would be without it.
Overall, Brontide has made me feel things no book has ever made me feel before. Nothing has quite grabbed my attention and delved deep into my mind, soul and heart and essentially become a part of me. I could not think more highly of this book, but I know the sequels will amaze me even more than the first. I am so excited to read the next instalment of the series, to cry over the characters and devour more and more wonderful plot, lore and imagery, and stare in awe at the fantastic illustrations presented in each chapter.
T.D. Cloud has created something so wonderful and ethereal, its almost unreal how magical the book reads. Combined with AmbiSun’s flawless illustrations (I would frame each one if I could), Brontide is the greatest book I have ever experienced. And I know with the upcoming sequel Deluge, I will fall more and more in love with this series.

Jeff Bezos: the ‘obsessive’ Amazon founder and world’s next richest man
Bezos, whose opulence have increased in $20 bn in five months, could take Bill Gatess crown within daytimes if Amazon shares retain soaring
Just a few dollars more on the Amazon share price and the world will have a new richest guy. Jeff Bezos, the companys founder, is on the verge of engulf Bill Gates to become the wealthiest person on the planet.
Bezos, 53, has been having a very good time. His net worth has risen by nearly $20 bn( 16 bn) in the past five months to $85.2 bn, putting him just behind Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, who is valued at $89.3 bn, in agreement with the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Bezos fortune has flown thanks to a sharp rise in Amazons share price, which has gone up by one-third in so far in 2017, valuing the company at $475 bn and Bezoss stake of approximately 17% at more than $80 bn. If Amazon shares continue to rise at the same gait, Bezos will become the richest party in the world within days.
The man who changed the route we shop is no longer an johnny-come-lately internet billionaire. Amazon was founded in 1994, when people still referred to the web as the information superhighway. But it is now the fourth more valuable fellowship in the world behind Microsoft, Googles parent company, Alphabet, and Apple. Amazon is merit more than 30 times the stock market value of Tesco, Britains biggest retailer.
The business began with Bezos selling notebooks from his garage in Seattle. Since then, Amazon has expanded into other retail categories, such as meat, garment and electricals, and developed a formidable gloom calculating busines, its own television demonstrates and an electronic personal assistant for families homes.
In each annual fiscal report, Bezos reprints the character he sent to shareholders in 1997, when Amazon swam on the stock market.
The letter lays out Bezoss approach to business and moving Amazon. He pledges to focus on the long term and being world markets commander, rather than short-term profitability regards or short-term Wall st. actions. He knows those actions well, having worked on Wall street for a hedge fund before founding Amazon.
Bezos has persistently told shareholders, analysts and staff that it is still day one for the company, despite the fact that it reports for 43% of all online sales in the US, and its term of office at Amazons headquarters is located in a construct called day one.
His 2017 word began with an explanation of what day two would be for Amazon. Day two is stasis, he wrote. Followed by irrelevance. Followed by excruciating, distressing reject. Followed by fatality. And that is why it is always day one.
To be sure, these sorts of decline would happen in extreme slow motion. An substantiated company might collect day 2 for decades, but the final result would still come. Im very interested in the issues to How do you fend off day two? What are the techniques and tactics? How do you keep the vitality of day one, even inside a large organisation?
The best route to protect the company, he said, is obsessive purchaser focus.
This focus has defined Amazon and Bezos, positively and negatively. While the company produced $136 bn of auctions last year, it has attracted review for apparently sweeping aside small retailers and battering high-pitched streets around the world as it has expanded, and for the amount of excise it compensates .
Bezos was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1964. Brad Stones definitive journal on Amazon and Bezos, The Everything Store, revealed that Bezoss biological father, Ted Jorgensen, had no theme he was a multibillionaire.
When Stone called Jorgensen, a unicyclist, unannounced, as part of his research for the book, he did not know who Bezos was or what he was talking about.
Bezos was born Jeffrey Preston Jorgensen to Jorgensen and Jackie Gise, who married as boys. Gise filed for divorce from Jorgensen when Bezos was 17 months old-fashioned. In 1968, she wedded Miguel Bezos, who legally adopted Bezos as his son. Gise questioned Jorgensen to stay out of their lives.
In an interrogation in 2014, after Stones book was publicized, Jorgensen said he was desperate to construed his biological son, but Bezos had not been in contact.
Bezos has exploited the fate constructed from Amazon to buy the Washington Post and invest in space travel through Blue Origin, a company he founded in 2000. The Amazon chief executive also invests in jobs through Bezos Expeditions, an investment fund that has bought shares in other successful internet startups, such as Airbnb, Business Insider and Uber.
Although Bezos has not signed the Giving Pledge, which was founded by Gates and Warren Buffett and commits signatories to contributing the majority of their asset to benevolence, he and members of their families have made a series of important contributions to philanthropic induces. For speciman, Bezos and his wife, MacKenzie, donated $2.5 m to supporters of gay marriage in Washington state as part of a referendum safarus in 2012.
And he has been dragged into national politics since Donald Trump grew chairman because of a war of words between them during the election campaign.
Trump has accused Amazon of going away with assassinate, tax-wise, and said Bezos was utilizing the Washington Post for political influence. Trump pledged that there would be questions for Amazon if he were elected president, but has yet to specifically target the retailer.
Bezos attended a meeting between engineering directors and Trump shortly after the end of the US election last-place November, saying he was excited that Trumps could be new innovations disposal.
But he is unlikely to feel the same now, and has pledged to legally crusaded Trumps attempts to ban travel to the US from several countries experiencing mainly Muslim populations.

Issa Rae: ‘So much of the media presents blackness as fierce and flawless. Im not’
The creator of Insecure talks the dating totem pole, films obsession with slavery and the gender-race pay gap as season two begins
I dont want the stench of the current administration on this show, says Issa Rae. I dont want people to look back and be like: Oh, this was a Trump show. I want them to look back and say Insecure was an Obama show. Because it is: Obama enabled this show. The sharp, pithy, Los Angeles-set comedy, dubbed by US fashion and beauty site the Cut as the black, millennial Sex and The City, which Rae co-created, writes and stars in, first aired on HBO last autumn, exactly a month before the US election. Culturally, Obama made blackness so present, and so appreciated; people felt seen and heard; it influenced the arts, and it absolutely influenced how I see blackness, how I appreciate it, says the 32-year-old Rae. When a black president is a norm, it enables us to be, too.
Being a norm is a matter of some import to the actor and writer, who in spite of her personal allegiances had no desire to make an overtly political show. She never wanted Insecure to be, as she says with a generous eye-roll, a story about the struggle or the dramatic burdens of being black. At the heart of the series is the relationship between her on-screen iteration also named Issa, who works for an educational nonprofit called We Got Yall and raps soliloquies to herself in the mirror and her best friend Molly (Yvonne Orji), a high-flying corporate lawyer. Together, they navigate the professional and personal challenges of late-20s urban life.
I just wanted to see my friends and I reflected on television, in the same way that white people are allowed, and which nobody questions, continues Rae. Nobody watches Divorce [a HBO stablemate, starring Sarah Jessica Parker] and asks: What is the political element, what is the racial element driving this?
youtube
Watch the trailer for season two of Insecure.
But so rare is it to see what its creator describes as a show about regular black people being basic in contemporary entertainment Insecure has nonetheless been hailed as revolutionary. It wasnt always so. Growing up, Rae was an avid fan of the predominantly black US sitcoms Moesha, Girlfriends and A Different World. Then they disappeared, she says of the film and television landscape. Somewhere along the way, being white became seen as relatable, and you started to see people of colour only reflected as stereotypes or specific archetypes. So much of the media now presents blackness as being cool, or able to dance, or fierce and flawless, or just out of control; Im not any of those things.
It is a hot and swampy summer afternoon in Manhattan, and Rae is in town doing the requisite rounds of late-night talkshow appearances ahead of Insecures season two premiere. On arrival, she seems a little lethargic entirely understandable, given her promotional schedule. But once seated in a buzzy restaurant, specifically chosen because its the sort of spot that the on-screen Issa and her girlfriends would patronise, Rae immediately perks up, emanating charismatic good humour.
Born in an affluent suburb of Los Angeles, Rae real name Jo-Issa Rae Diop is the third of five children, her father a Senegalese doctor, her mother a teacher from Louisiana. The rapid rise in gang violence in the city prompted Raes parents to move the family to Senegals capital, Dakar, when Rae was five years old. Her father tried to open a hospital there but things didnt work out and, three years later, they came back to the US, but to Potomac, Maryland, on the east coast, where Rae attended a predominantly white private school. When the family moved once again, this time back to LA, Rae entered a largely black and Latino school. Everybody thought I was lame and hated me, she says, matter-of-factly. It was a huge culture shock.
Part of the on-screen Issas insecurity of feeling not black enough for black people and not white enough for white people is, Rae says, something that I have been called out for by kids in my life. Ive experienced a real sense of feeling out of place. But with admirable chutzpah, she found a creative solution: I wrote a play and cast all of my bullies, and they loved it. They thought I was cool after that. She pauses, and gives a wry smile. Well, cool is a strong word. But I wasnt on their shit-list any more.

While studying at Stanford University, Rae began to notice that many of the television shows she loved, including Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld, were all-white comedies. Of course, sense of humour is relative, is subjective, but there is an assumption that black people wont find certain things about white comedies funny, she says. I got really frustrated and just wanted to start making my own stories. She conceived and directed Dorm Diaries, a mock reality show with an all-black cast, in the style of MTVs The Real World. When she posted it to Facebook, it quickly circulated, and Rae realised that she had a talent for portraying everyday black life; she has called it my epiphany moment. A few years later, she created what would be her breakthrough web series and the forerunner to Insecure, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.
A web show is one thing, of course, a mainstream television show on a high-profile cable network quite another. I ask her about the sociologist and civil rights activist WEB Duboiss concept of double consciousness, which she has referenced in the past, defined as the psychological challenge of always looking at ones self through the eyes of a white society. Does she feel that even more sharply now than before?
Absolutely. I didnt create this show for white people, I didnt create it for men; I created it, really, for my friends and family, and for their specific sense of humour, she nods. But now that we know we have an audience including HBO executives the double consciousness comes into play, because youre always wondering: How do they see what I am writing? Are they laughing at this specific joke for this particular reason? When season one aired, I had Asian women coming up to me on the street, saying: Oh my gosh, this reminds me of me and my best friend, she recalls. And thats wonderful thats what you want for a show but you are always wondering: What elements do they relate to the most?
I suggest that in future she stops fans and asks for further, more detailed feedback. She throws her head back and laughs. Yes. Excuse me, but why do you like the show? Tell me right now, please.

While Insecure may be only inadvertently political, this second season is noticeably more charged with social commentary, and examples of everyday discrimination. Through Molly, the show explores the gender pay gap, with an added issue to unpick: is she being paid less because of her gender, or her ethnicity, or both? These are questions that we constantly have to ask ourselves, as minorities, or double minorities, or triple minorities, nods Rae. In terms of the intersectionality of it all, you are constantly asking yourself: Which part of me is being discriminated against? Which part of me is being targeted? If not all parts of me.
The often-dispiriting experience of modern dating features prominently, too. At the start of this series, Issa has recently broken up from her long-term boyfriend, Lawrence (Jay Ellis), and thrown herself into the choppy waters of Tinder, Bumble and Hinge. Dating in todays digitally enabled world is rough enough but there is, Rae believes, an added dimension for her characters. Black women are at the bottom of the desire chain, of the dating totem pole; were not the trophies, she says.
In rap culture, especially, theres always an idea that once you achieve an amount of success, your trophy is the white girl on your arm. However, she asserts, thats not limited to hip-hop. Its not scientifically proven, but theres evidence, in dating apps for example, that were the last to be chosen, the least desirable. The theory is also explored in Aziz Ansaris Netflix show Master of None, which includes a scene in which one of his dates, a black woman, tells him: Compared to my white friends, I get way less activity [on app dating sites]. I also find that I rarely match with guys outside of my race.
Lawrence, meanwhile, is also experiencing discrimination, albeit in a different form. In one scene spoiler alert! he is picked up by two non-black girls at a grocery store, who lure him to their apartment, where they proceed to seduce him. Their fetishisation of his blackness has echoes of Get Out, Jordan Peeles racism-thriller which triumphed at the box office earlier this year.
That was based on a real-life situation that one of our writers shared, says Rae of the uncomfortable tryst. It didnt end well, which had nothing to do with his blackness, but we thought: How can we make this story apply to fit our show? Every show can have a threesome story gone awry, but how can we make it unique for Insecure?
Off the clock … Rae in New York last month. Photograph: Amy Sussman/Invision/AP
There is a show-within-the-show too, an antebellum-era television drama that several of Insecures characters are glued to. Last year, our show-within-a-show was Conjugal Visits, which was a comment on the trash TV that consumes us all. Setting it in a prison a system which, in this country, incarcerates mainly black and Latino people and making that entertainment, was definitely meta-commentary, nods Rae.
This seasons skewering of popular culture is no less pointed. Theres [been] such an obsession with depicting slavery that the last few years, I have been kind of slaved-out, she sighs. So we thought it would be funny to have the characters obsessed with this new slave interracial drama. A guest-starring role for Sterling K Brown, who won an Emmy for his portrayal of prosecutor Christopher Darden in The People Vs OJ Simpson, ups that meta ante even further, but Rae is quick to assure me that this wasnt a casting that she chased down. No! We actually have an anti-celebrity policy on the show, she insists. We were doing something together for the Independent Spirit awards, and he was, like: I love your show, if you ever want to cast me The musician Syd, another self-proclaimed fan of the show, also makes a brief cameo.
Although Rae resists comparisons between Insecure and Girls and of herself to its creator Lena Dunham: I get the inclination to compare us because were both young women, but the stories were telling couldnt be more different, she says the two share a deliciously frank depiction of female sexuality. Broken Pussy, one of Issas raps, became something of a refrain in season one, after she speculates that Mollys run of bad luck with men might be the result of a defective filtering system.
My friend and I have a thing where we talk in, um, pussy sounds, Rae laughs. I think that most women know whether they want to sleep with a guy or not within the first five minutes of meeting him, and so we speak in Marge Simpson voices about whether or not a guy could get it. She demonstrates. If its a yes, well say: My pussy was like: [Perky, eager voice] Mm-hm, girl. Or, My pussy was like, [Low, negative tones]: Mm-mm. So, the conversation about Molly feeling like she wasnt attracting the right type of guys was me suggesting her pussy might actually be broken.
What did her mother make of this particular piece of dialogue? She only saw it at the screening! Rae laughs. She pulled me aside afterwards and was, like: That mouth, were going to wash it out but, good job.
Insecure continues on Thursday 10 August, 10.35pm, Sky Atlantic

Jeff Bezos: the ‘obsessive’ Amazon founder and world’s next richest humanity
Bezos, whose opulence have increased in $20 bn in five months, could take Bill Gatess crown within periods if Amazon shares maintain soaring
Just a few dollars more on the Amazon share price and the world will have a new richest guy. Jeff Bezos, the companys founder, is on the brink of engulf Bill Gates to become the wealthiest being on the planet.
Bezos fortune has surged thanks to a sharp rise in Amazons share price, which has gone up by one-third in so far in 2017, valuing the company at $475 bn and Bezoss stake of roughly 17% at more than $80 bn. If Amazon shares continue to rise at the same pace, Bezos will become the richest being in the world within days.
The man who changed the acces we patronize is no longer an johnny-come-lately internet billionaire. Amazon was founded in 1994, when people still referred to the web as the information superhighway. But it is now the fourth most valuable corporation in the world behind Microsoft, Googles parent company, Alphabet, and Apple. Amazon is merit more than 30 eras the stock market value of Tesco, Britains biggest retailer.
The business began with Bezos exchanging works from his garage in Seattle. Since then, Amazon has expanded into other retail categories, such as meat, garb and electricals, and developed a formidable gloom estimating assistance, its own television presents and an electronic personal assistant for folks homes.
In each annual financial report, Bezos reprints the letter he sent to shareholders in 1997, when Amazon floated on the stock market.
The letter lays out Bezoss approach to business and loping Amazon. He pledges to focus on the long term and being world markets governor, rather than short-term profitability studies or short-term Wall st. reactions. He knows those actions well, having worked on Wall st. for a hedge fund before founding Amazon.
Bezos has repeatedly told stockholders, specialists and staff that it is still day one for the company, despite the fact that it reports for 43% of all online sales in the US, and its term of office at Amazons headquarters is located in a house announced day one.
His 2017 note began with an explanation of what day two would be for Amazon. Day two is stasis, he wrote. Followed by irrelevance. Followed by excruciating, pain deterioration. Followed by fatality. And that is why it is always day one.
To be sure, these sorts of diminish would happen in extreme slow motion. An launched fellowship might harvest day two for decades, but the final result would still come. Im very interested in the issues to How do you fend off day two? What are the techniques and tactics? How do you keep the vitality of day one, even inside a large organisation?
The excellent path to protect the company, he said, is obsessive patron focus.
This focus has defined Amazon and Bezos, positively and negatively. While the company rendered $136 bn of auctions last year, it has attracted analysi for apparently sweeping aside small-scale retailers and battering high streets around the world as it has expanded, and for the amount of taxation it offer .
Bezos was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1964. Brad Stones definitive journal on Amazon and Bezos, The Everything Store, revealed that Bezoss biological father, Ted Jorgensen, “havent had” mind he was a multibillionaire.
When Stone called Jorgensen, a unicyclist, unannounced, as part of his research for the book, he did not know who Bezos was or what he was talking about.
Bezos was born Jeffrey Preston Jorgensen to Jorgensen and Jackie Gise, who married as boys. Gise filed for divorce from Jorgensen when Bezos was 17 months old. In 1968, she married Miguel Bezos, who legally accepted Bezos as his son. Gise requested Jorgensen to stay out of their lives.
In an interrogation in 2014, after Stones book was published, Jorgensen said he was hopeles to assured his biological son, but Bezos had not been in contact.
Bezos has employed the rich built from Amazon to buy the Washington Post and invest in space travel through Blue Origin, a company he founded in 2000. The Amazon chief executive also invests in business through Bezos Expeditions, an investment fund that has bought shares in other successful internet startups, such as Airbnb, Business Insider and Uber.
Although Bezos has not signed the Giving Pledge, which was founded by Gates and Warren Buffett and commits signatories to contributing the majority of their money to kindnes, he and his family have made a series of significant contributions to philanthropic stimulates. For instance, Bezos and his wife, MacKenzie, pledged $2.5 m to supporters of gay marriage in Washington state as part of a referendum campaign in 2012.
And he has been dragged into national politics since Donald Trump grew chairman because of a war of words between them during the electoral campaign.
Trump has accused Amazon of getting away with assassination, tax-wise, and said Bezos was applying the Washington Post for political affect. Trump pledged that there would be problems for Amazon if he were elected president, but has yet to specific target the retailer.
Bezos attended a meeting between technology chiefs and Trump shortly after the US election last-place November, saying he was elicited that Trumps could be the innovation disposal.
But he is unlikely to feel the same now, and has pledged to legally engaged Trumps attempts to ban travel to the US from several countries experiencing chiefly Muslim populations.

Jeff Bezos: the ‘obsessive’ Amazon founder and world’s next richest husband
Bezos, whose abundance have increased in $20 bn in five months, could take Bill Gatess crown within periods if Amazon shares maintain soaring
Just a few dollars more on the Amazon share price and the world will have a new richest male. Jeff Bezos, the companys founder, is on the brink of engulf Bill Gates to become the wealthiest party on the planet.
Bezos, 53, has been having a very good time. His net worth has risen by almost $20 bn( 16 bn) in the past five months to $85.2 bn, putting him just behind Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, who is valued at $89.3 bn, in agreement with the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Bezos fortune has surged thanks to a sharp rise in Amazons share price, which has gone up by one-third in so far in 2017, valuing the company at $475 bn and Bezoss stake of approximately 17% at more than $80 bn. If Amazon shares continue to rise at the same speed, Bezos will become the richest person in the world within days.
The man who changed the path we patronize is not a johnny-come-lately internet billionaire. Amazon was founded in 1994, when people still referred to the web as the information superhighway. But it is now the fourth most valuable corporation in “the worlds” behind Microsoft, Googles parent company, Alphabet, and Apple. Amazon is importance more than 30 durations the stock market value of Tesco, Britains biggest retailer.
The business began with Bezos selling notebooks from his garage in Seattle. Since then, Amazon has expanded into other retail categories, such as meat, attire and electricals, and developed a formidable gloom calculating work, its own video establishes and an electronic personal assistant for peoples homes.
In each annual financial report, Bezos reprints the letter he sent to stockholders in 1997, when Amazon moved on the stock market.
The letter lays out Bezoss approach to business and leading Amazon. He pledges to focus on the long term and being world markets captain, rather than short-term profitability considerations or short-term Wall st. reactions. He knows those actions well, having worked on Wall Street for a hedge fund before founding Amazon.
Bezos has persistently told stockholders, commentators and staff that it is still day one for the company, despite the fact that it reports for 43% of all online marketings in the US, and its term of office at Amazons headquarters is located in a house called day one.
His 2017 word beginning with the purpose of explaining what day two would be for Amazon. Day two is stasis, he wrote. Followed by irrelevance. Followed by excruciating, unpleasant slump. Followed by demise. And that is why it is always day one.
To be sure, these sorts of deterioration would happen in extreme slow motion. An installed fellowship might glean day two for decades, but the end result would still attain. Im interested in the question How do you fend off day two? What are the techniques and tactics? How do you keep the vitality of day one, even inside a large organisation?
The better mode to protect the company, he added, is obsessive purchaser focus.
This focus has defined Amazon and Bezos, positively and negatively. While the company made $136 bn of auctions last year, it has attracted analysi for apparently sweeping aside small-scale retailers and battering high streets around the world as it has expanded, and for the amount of charge it pays .
Bezos was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1964. Brad Stones definitive book on Amazon and Bezos, The Everything Store, revealed that Bezoss biological father, Ted Jorgensen, had no idea he was a multibillionaire.
When Stone saw Jorgensen, a unicyclist, unannounced, as part of his research for the book, he did not know who Bezos was or what he was talking about.
Bezos was born Jeffrey Preston Jorgensen to Jorgensen and Jackie Gise, who married as girls. Gise filed for divorce from Jorgensen when Bezos was 17 months age-old. In 1968, she wedded Miguel Bezos, who legally adopted Bezos as his son. Gise questioned Jorgensen to stay out of their lives.
In an interrogation in 2014, after Stones book was wrote, Jorgensen said he was frantic to received his biological son, but Bezos had not been in contact.
Bezos has employed the rich improved from Amazon to buy the Washington Post and invest in space travel through Blue Origin, a company he founded in 2000. The Amazon chief executive also invests in business through Bezos Expeditions, an investment fund that has bought shares in other successful internet startups, such as Airbnb, Business Insider and Uber.
Although Bezos has not signed the Giving Pledge, which was founded by Gates and Warren Buffett and devotes signatories to contributing the majority of their wealth to donation, he and his family have made a series of important contributions to philanthropic effects. For pattern, Bezos and his wife, MacKenzie, pledged $2.5 m to supporters of gay marriage in Washington state as part of a referendum campaign in 2012.
And he has been dragged into national politics since Donald Trump became chairman because of a war of words between them during the election campaign.
Trump has accused Amazon of getting away with slaying, tax-wise, and answered Bezos was expending the Washington Post for political influence. Trump pledged that there would be questions for Amazon if he were elected president, but has already been to specifically target the retailer.
Bezos attended a meeting between technology honchoes and Trump shortly after the US election last November, saying he was aroused that Trumps could be new innovations administration.
But he is unlikely to feel the same now, and has pledged to legally fight Trumps attempts to ban travel to the US from various countries with predominantly Muslim populations.
