this oc story is ny oldest and it has. notebooks upon notebooks of wordbuilding in every direction, with a story spanning like. seventy to eighty years p much but The Gist is: urban fantasy a la the mortal instruments, the magic people have little communities by themselves accessible to the human public but generaly not frequented, your magic actuvates in what Destiny considers to be the Most Important Moment in your life.

it starts with, clearly, clingyduo. Theyre vacationing in the us, somewhere in the east coast, and Tommy takes that moment to come out to tubbo as aroace (bc of course). And thats a pretty common one, your magic activating because of a self discovery or a self admission, so tubbo has about fifty seconds to realize what has been said before tommy Literally Explodes. Like tommys magic is light related, and when he Activates he becomes kind of like those projectir lamps, just with the engine and light power of a lighthouse.

Tubbo is. well hes not doing Well about it, runs panicking into the hotels reception and gets direction to what he Thinks is a hospital (the clerk didnt speak much english but he thinks hes communicated well enough) but turns out to be. a house. a village? a small group of normal looking houses, with a strangely built condo in the center.

But whatever maybe this is how they do it in bumfuck nowhereville near nj, whos he to judge - when he runs in and explains what happened the people are quick to help tommy ro a room with a bed, telling him help is on the way. its okay, predictable, almost relaxes him a bit. Doesnt look like an hospital room at All but again whatevet Who is He to Judge.

A Guy comes in. he is. well he is not a doctir, simply because hes never seen a doctor in spike boots and a mohawk and he cant suspend his disbelief that much. The Guy kind of starts to explain to him (bc tommy is still passed out - with the amount of energy he used Activating hell probably be out for a whole day or two) what the deal with magic is ecc ecc, but he sees tubbos kinda skeptic. he goes, all serious

"i reckon youre the kind of guy who wouldnt know magic if it hit you in the face"

and tubbos like.

"i mean. magics never hit me before at least".

And the guy, who has hydrokinesis powers and a sense of humor, hits tubbo lightly on the forehead with a drop of magic controlled water. Tubbo, whos never one to disappoint, Activates on his own. His powers are a bit more mind related (it has to do with measuring and constructinf things) so it ist a very showy activation, but he very much glows and passes out right onto tommy.

Whiiiich is where ranboo comes in.

Ranboo is the son of one (or two, debating two ranmoms for sure) very important magic historian, whos favorite field of study is the Activation of various people. He also happens to be in that particular buolding when Guy searches for him, ready to relay the funniest fucking activation hes seen in ages, and well i suppose it is unique would you like to talk to them, get some info back to your mum?
