Aight, what did everyone's English teachers do to make them hate poetry??? If you don't like it because it was hard to analyze, then they just showed you the wrong poems and you have to stop generalizing. Some poems will talk about fireworks being pretty and directly translate to "fireworks are pretty."

Also how is this different from... any other English unit???? If anything, it's shorter?? Oh no, there's metaphors in poetry? Y'all gonna lose your shit when you realize that Gregor Samsa turned into a roach in order to convey a theme.

Unrelated note, all of my friends hate the poetry unit we're doing while I plan to enjoy every second of it
