Haveta pop the hood to turn it off. Every. Single. Time.

Sometimes the electronics stop working while driving. Usually its just the windows, sometimes its Everything. This does not stop me from getting to my destinations as she just. Keeps going. (I know hand signals from my time time in boy scouts) I just replace some fuses and I can roll down my windows again 🤠

When attempting to lock the doors, pushing down one lock will oftentimes cause another door to unlock. Its some real life looneytoons shit

Iida Is tapping his foot waiting for jerico at the entrance of the UA. He looks around.

--Sorry! We couldnt find anything!!-- jerico comes in his field of view, his breath is taken away when he sees her in a suit, her hair tied up.

--oh...-- he mutters and both uraraka and midoriya hold him back, jiro and mina roll up his pants so recirpoburst doesnt rip them.

Jerico giggles and hugs him-- lets go yeah?

Tenya nodds and fixes his pants saying goodbye and getting in the car.

As they drive he hugs her tightly-- you look so beautiful -- he says caressing her arm.

his family laughs, and tensei says something before they leave.-- jerico, take care of him for me-- he says patting her arm-- and please show him how to relax

She laughs hugging tensei-- I Will, dont worry!

She says her goodbyes and both go back to the UA.

"Im sorry about what happened with Tchalla and your wife," Natasha frowns, leading you into the conference room, "How is it at the throne?"

"Different," You sigh, smiling and nodding to Thor, Rocket, Scott, Rhodey, Clint, Bruce and Nebula, "Difficult ruling a kingdom that wasnt originally mine. We need Tchalla, its obvious. My brother in law was much better at ruling,"

"We think we found a way to bring them all back," Natasha states, your eyes meeting hers, "We need to locate the stones in the exact place before Thanos can get them,"

"I might be able to help you with that," You nod once, "The first stone, is located on planet Vormir. Its easy to get, except for one thing," You turn to the group, after walking up to the screen with the stones on it,

"Which is?" Rhodey questions, Nebula clearing her throat,

"A life for the stone," Her statement has the group turning to her, your hands resting at your back,

"Shes right," Gazes move to you, "The only way to get the stone, is someone must sacrifice their life for the stone. Its a tough decision, but Thanos had seen to make that choice easily,"

"But who?" Rocket speaks up, your eyes swiftly moving over the group,

"I will,"

Steve looks at you, gaze suddenly sharp as he shakes his head, walking up to you, "Im not letting you do that,"

Said woman looks down at your call, squatting down and caressing your cheek, smiling, "Hello my love,"

"You're alive," You gasp, sitting up and hissing, hand flying to your head,

"Doesnt feel like it," You look in the mirror, brushing hair over the patch on your ear in an attempt to hide it,

You look down at your bare feet, flowing your dress over top so they disappeared, and you grin, "Shall we go?"

"Without shoes?" Shuri looks down at her own gown, a color that matched your dress well, "We shall,"

It has been a nice snowy evening, so you decided to get some hot coffee from the local Caffeteria. Detroit was alive today more than any other day. You asked your android Nina to hold up the coffee for you so you wont burn your fingers and slowly started walking home.

“You should go to bed early, you didn’t sleep for 2 days.” Nina commented.

“Yemhm.. “ you rolled your eyes.

A police car flew by quickly, watching them you realised they are going near to you house. You run there to find out that the police is closing up the area around your neighbour’s house entrance.

“Step aside! Go home everyone!” you heard a policeman shouting at the people standing around.

You followed his voice and finally reach him.

“I live next door, what happened here?” you asked.

He looked at you with a  serious look and turned his back to you.

“Lieutenant ? She lives next to the victim, you wanted to talk to her? “ he called towards the house.

A few minutes later the old man came from the opened door and scanned you from head to toe.

“Let her in, man.” he said.

The policeman raised the tape and you walked inside, while telling your android to stay outside.

“Lieutenant ? I analysed the bl-” a soft voice came from inside.

“No, stop, dont go there” the soft voice from earlier said behind you. You turned around and saw a young gentleman in a suit and with perfect hair, with one messy strand of it hanging over his forehead and deep brown eyes.

“Young lady shouldn’t be seeing such things.” he continued and raised his arm to lead you somewhere else.

You only just realised that his led light was flickering yellow at the side of his head. He wasn’t human.

He walked you to the kitchen, where the Lieutenant already was.

“Have a seat” the Lieutenant said.

You sat down, still confused about everything that’s happening.

“What happened here? “ you asked.

“You neighbour was stabbed 28 t-” the android started, but was interrupted by the Lieutenant immediately.

“Connor, shut up” he looked into his eyes.

The android, Connor, looked as if he was somewhat embarassed. You smiled at him to cheer him up a little bit. You guessed the Lieutenant was rude to him most of the time.

“Let him continue” you encouraged him.

The neighbour who was killed wasn’t liked by anyone else. He bullied his family which left him a few months ago and drugs were his second name.

“With the kitchen knife” Connor said while looking you straight into eyes, ignoring the Lieutenant rolling his eyes. “Did he own any androids? “

“He had one” you replied. “But he almost broke him a week ago”

“And friends? Family? “ Connor continued asking as the Lieutenant silently took notes.

Afterhour, the Lieutenant finally said: “ Well, its all we needed to know. Thank you for your cooperation. If we need anything, we will contact you. Dont leave town, got it?”

“Got it, sir”

They were investigating the place for the next 3 days, and all you did was watch them through your window. You were just curious about Connor investigating the crime scene, the neighbour didn’t bother you. The Lieutenant always shouting at Connor for licking things off the crime scene, being confused by his behaviour and their other antics distracted you from the fact that Connor managed to find time to stare at you most of the time without your notice. You wouldnt even know he was an android if you didnt see the led circle.

“It was yellow , though “ you whispered to yourself,  thinking about him.

After some time you got sick of spying on them, so you came over and asked Lieutenant  if you could talk to Connor about the case.

“Take him” Lieutenant immediately said.

Connor followed you home without a word.

“Do you want some coffee ? “ you asked.

No response.

“ Or some tea?”

Connor turned to you. “ I’m machine, I dont need to drink anything. All that matters is solving the case”

You stared past him for few seconds, shocked.

“What do you want to drink, though? “ you asked.

You noticed Connors LED light started to blink.

“I would like some coffee” he said after while with a slightly thoughtful tone in his voice.

You made coffee for him and yourself. Both of you silently sat down in the living room and sip the coffee. You had to confess, he was really handsome. His dark eyes, his soft skin, and the one strand of hair were almost hypnotic.

“You wanted to talk about the case? “ Connor broke the silence. “Umm.. Not really. I just wanted to take you away from the Lieutenant honestly.” you replied.

Connor smiled. “He doesnt like me”

You winked at him. “He doesnt like YOU ? I thought you would say he doesnt like androids”

Connor looked down and didnt answer, so you just drank the coffee silently. Something in his voice sounded different from the other androids.

“Connor!” the Lieutenant shouted from the other building “Come here and lick the blood we found!”

“Thank you for having me” Connor replied with a smile and hands you back the empty cup of coffee.

The doorbell was ringing agressivelly like the world was about to end. You refused to get up, all you wanted was sleep.

Finally, it was silent. You burried your head under the pillow slowly falling asleep again, when you heard the door from bedroom opening up. You frozen up and listened closely. The door shuts down and heavy footsteps are coming towards to you. Somebody touches your shoulder.

“Do you have a cup of coffee? “ you turned around to Connor’s smiley face.

“Wha- What are you doing here? You cant just come into someone’s bedroom like that” you replied, since you were used to sleep in panties only.

“Sorry .. “ Connor remainded silent for good minute.

“I wanted to see you” he finally spoke.

You looked at him and saw this kind of look on his face. Almost blushing, you would say?

“Anyway, you should have told me earlier, Connor.” you told him.

“Im sorry , I couldnt help it .. “ he said softly while going down from your shoudler to you back. You freaked out and grabbed his hand.

“Im doing what I decided to do.” Connor was looking deeply in your eyes. His LED light was flickering from the yellow to the blue colour. Androids should have blue LEDs, right ?

You stayed in silence while Connor sat closer to you. He began to lean towards to you more and more.

You didnt try to escape at all, as he reached your lips. His lips was like silk. Warm. Soft. You lost yourself in his lips, almost didnt notice he’s taking the sheets away from you. Once they were gone, Connor looked at your uncovered body.

Day One: 8:00 PM

“It’s been so long since we’ve been on a vacation together. What’s it been like, five years?”

“Mmm...” I hummed, scrolling through my phone. My mother tapped my leg, my eyes dragging up to see her face, “What?”

“Put your phone away. We’re going on this trip to get you out of your funk since that stupid boy broke your heart.”

“Can we not talk about Dean, please...” I asked, turning my head to look out the window.

“This four day get away at the beach should help you.”

“Yeah, because the ocean and sand can help me get rid of my depression...” 

“Don’t be like that, Y/N...” She whispered and I tuned her voice out as I watched the trees turn into beaches, tan sands fading almost to white due to the season change. The water soaking in the still warm air and bright sun, resting upon the shore line waiting to cover someone’s feet; I bet it’s starting to get cold, not like we’ll probably swim anyway. 

“We’re here.” We pulled up to a house that sat on the beach. The siding of the house colored a cerulean blue, fashioned with dark wood steps leading up to the door; even though the house was weathered, it still held some beauty. We stepped out of the car, pulling our luggage from the trunk, and then made our way up to the door. My mother opened the deep red door and we were greeted by the squeals of my older sisters, Anessa and Samantha.

“So glad you guys could finally make it.” Anessa took our mother’s luggage from her, sliding it over to the side of the couch.

“I’m sorry, girls. There was so much traffic on the highway.”

“No surprise there.” Sam grunted from the couch.

“Sorry to interrupt, but will you show me to my room, please?” I asked, Anessa skimmed over me, placing her hands on her hips.

“Well, aren’t you a sight for sore eyes. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you. I think the last time I saw you was at Christmas dinner with De—”

“All right, all right, let’s not pester, Y/N. She’s had a long week. Sam, honey, show her to her room, please.”

“Ah, okay, mom.” Sam replied, getting up from the couch. I followed her down the hall to the last room on the left and she opened the door, “Let me know if you need anything, okay?”

“Mmm...” I nodded and walked into the blinding room. Pale blue painted walls, dark wood flooring, driftwood colored furniture, white bedding, and a window seat facing the ocean.

Cute...

I opened my bag, unpacked my clothes into the dresser, then closed the curtains over the windows, and finally laid down on the bed, resting my eyes.

Day Two: 4:00 AM

I opened my eyes to a dark bedroom, the sound of the ocean waves seeping into the room.

How long have I been out?

I pulled my phone from under the pillow, the screen lighting up to show 4:02 on the clock. I laid my phone down, turning on the lamp on the side table, then getting up to pull a sweater from the dresser. I tugged it on, slipping on my shoes, and stepping out of the bedroom into the dim hallway. I padded my way across the floor into the dining room, sliding the glass balcony door open, letting the sea salt tainted air kiss my face. I closed the door behind me and walked down the balcony stairs, down into the sand. The sound of the waves crashing soothed my numb mind, my body being pulled closer to the shore; I sat down close to the water, watching it roll in and drift back out, when something moving through the water caught my eye.

A person swimming at this time of night?

I watched the body move closer and closer until I could make out his features in the moonlight— shaggy dark brown hair, soft cheek bones, but killer jaw line, thick lips, and sharp eyes.

Wow, he’s gorgeous...

He came closer until his body rested on the shore, everything but his head still under the water, “Hey...”

Is he talking to me?

I looked around, searching for someone else he could be talking to when he spoke again, “Who are you looking for?”

“I was making sure you were actually talking to me.” I confessed, tugging at the sleeves of my sweater. His eyes wrinkled as a beaming smile appeared on his lips.

“What is a beautiful girl like you doing out here in the middle of the night?”

“I could ask you the same thing. Isn’t the water cold?” I asked, moving closer to him, the water starting to touch my feet.

“Not really. I live in the water so it doesn’t really effect me.”

“Ah, you mean you’re always coming out to swim—”

“No...” The water splashed behind him and I leaned to the side, the dark red color coming into focus, “I’m a merman.” I got up to my feet, traipsing into the water, the iciness making me hiss, but I needed to make sure he wasn’t playing around with me, I needed to see if he was telling the truth.

“I thought mermaids and mermen were just old sailors tales, not real life...?” I questioned as he turned over, sitting on the ocean floor, his waist submerged under the water.

“We stay hidden for our safety.” He lifted his tail, the deep red iridescent scales glittering under the moonlight.

“What a shame, you’re a beautiful creature...” I ran my hand over his scales, his tail twitching at my touch. I flicked my eyes up to his face, his cheeks ruddied and his bottom lip caught between his teeth, “I’m sorry, I touched you without even asking,”

“No, no, that’s okay. I was just shocked you actually came out into the cold ocean to touch me.” He teased, his wet locks fell onto his forehead as he lifted his hand, “I haven’t introduced myself yet, I’m Hyunwoo, but you can call me Shownu.”

“Oh,” I took his hand into my own, shaking it, “I’m Y/N.”

“A beautiful name for someone like you.” My cheeks burned at his statement, his chestnut eyes stared into mine, his hand pulling me close, “Y/N...” My name bubbled from his lips, his voice hypnotizing me, “I’m sorry, but the sun is starting to come up, so I must take my leave.”

“Oh...” I turned towards the horizon, hints of pinks starting to tint the sky, “Has it really been that long?”

He grunted to my question, “Can I see you tomorrow night, well I should say tonight?”

“Of course you can, if you want to.” A smile spread over his lips, his teeth peeking through his lips.

“Lovely. Meet here at midnight?”

I nodded, biting my lip.

“I’ll see you tonight, Y/N.” Shownu swam out into the ocean, soon diving down and disappearing.

Day Three: 12:00 am

“You came, Y/N.” Shownu laid against the shore, just as he did the night before.

“Did you think I wouldn’t?”

Shownu pondered my question then shrugged, “I wasn’t sure, but I’m glad you did.”

“I actually came prepared this time, too.”

“What do you mean by that?” He asked as I pulled off my sweater, Shownu clearing his throat, “Y/N, what’re you doing?”

“Taking off my clothes, so I can get in the water in my bathing suit and keep my street clothes clean and dry.” I laughed, seeing his cheeks flush.

“I thought you were—”

“Oh, I know what you thought.” I teased, tossing my shorts with my sweater away from the shore and stepping into the water, taking a seat next to him. He cleared his throat once more, scooting closer to me, peering into my face.

“Y/N?” 

“Yes?”

“Has anyone ever told you that you have the prettiest eyes? Especially in the moonlight?”

I laughed a bit, nudging him, “Has anyone ever told you that you’re such a flirt?” Shownu let out a chuckle leaning into me, sighing comfortably, “I do have a question for you, Shownu.”

“And I have an answer for you... probably.”

“If staying hidden was to keep you safe, why did you show yourself to me?”

“Hmm... that’s a good question...” He flicked his tail up, sucking his teeth, “Since I was a child, I could always tell when someone needed something. May it be an ear or someone to lean on, I could just feel it in my bones and seeing you last night, I could tell something was wrong, but I didn’t need to ask since it’s none of my business...” He paused for a moment, his hand ghosting over my fingers, “I’m here for you, whatever you need, Y/N.” I looked at him, his eyes catching mine.

“Shownu...” I felt a blush start to prickle at my cheeks and I looked down at my lap, soon his warm wet fingers brushed strands of hair behind my ear, “Tomorrow is my last night here so, I wouldn’t get too attached to me.”

“I’m not going to worry about that right now. I’ll make the moments you spend with me memorable, to where you won’t forget me or want to leave me.”

“Not like I could forget meeting a merman.” I breathed, moving out into the water.

“Oh, would you like me to leave then?” He huffed, moving out into the water with me.

“No!” I exclaimed and Shownu snorted, trying to stifle a laugh, “Don’t be mean.” I splashed water at him and he chuckled.

“Oh, now it’s on.” He hissed, playfully pulling me to him, his fingers poking at my sides making me squirm and giggle under his touch. I struggled to get away from him, but his hands ceased their attack and held me close to him, his warmth spreading through my back.

“Is this where you kill me?” I joked, a laugh leaving him. 

“If I wanted to kill you, I would’ve already.” I rested my head against his chest, watching the moon ripple on the water. 

“The more time I spend out here in the water, the more I feel myself wanting to stay. For a change of scenery, to get away from my home, away from the memories that linger in that town...” I ran my fingers over Shownu’s arm, his grip tightening.

“Then why don’t you stay?”

“There’s just things I have to return to... work, school... life in general. I rather spend my time here, with you, soaking up the moonlight and avoiding stress.”

“Stress? Why are you so stressed?”

“It’s a long story.”

“We’ve got three more hours until daylight, so we’ve got time.” 

“Well...” I went into deep detail of my life for the past few months since my break up with my ex and about how I’ve been dealing with it. Every once in a while Shownu would ask a question and then fall silent again; once I finished my life story, Shownu rested his head in the nook of my neck.

“I wish you never had to go through that, Y/N... You’re such a sweet girl. If I were human, I would keep you by my side forever.” He whispered, placing a gentle kiss on my shoulder.

“You’re too kind, Shownu... We just met and I feel like I’ve known you for forever.” I relaxed into him, sighing a bit, noticing the break of daylight leaking out onto the water, “Time to go, Shownu...”

“Just a few more minutes, please.” Shownu tightened his grip on me, burying his face into my damp hair.

“Just a few, I don’t want you getting caught.” Shownu lifted his head, turning it in close to my cheek, his lips grazing against my skin.

“Alright.” Shownu held me close for a few more moments, short silent moments, before he let me go and placed a soft kiss against my cheek, “Midnight, my dear.”

“Deal.” I smiled, watching him dive down, and disappear.

Day Four: 12:00am

I sat down on the cold sand in jeans and a thick sweater, the sea salt breeze starting to get colder every night. I watched the water ripple, waiting for Shownu to appear. Pulling my knees up to my chest, I rested my head on them, my eyes getting heavy. I dug my phone from my pocket, looking at the clock that read 12:10.

Maybe he got caught up with something... He knows it’s our last night...

I hugged my legs, burying my face into my sweater to fight off the cold breeze, closing my eyes.

“Y/N...” A gentle voice called out, rousing me from my sleep. I pulled my head up for the bright sunlight to blind me.

It’s morning?

I rubbed my eyes, blinking them a few times before trying to focus on anything around me.

He didn’t show...

Warmth spread over the top of my head, causing me to look up, a shadow looming over me, “I’m sorry it took me so long, Y/N, but I’m here now...” Shownu’s voice met my ears and I smiled.

“That’s funny... you sound like—” The shadow crouched down, my eyes focusing on the voice’s face, Shownu’s features coming into focus.

“It is me, dork.” He whispered and I looked him up and down, no tail, but human legs covered by the blanket I brought out.

“Shownu?!” I squealed, jumping from the sand to face him, “H-How is this possible?” I studdered, trying to take in his body. He stood, a little wobbly on his feet.

“When my father passed, he knew I was not meant for the sea, he gave me an elixir saying that it could make one sprout legs to walk the earth. I thought it was all a joke so I didn’t mess with it, but then I met you and I needed to at least try to see if it was real... and now...” He chuckled, “I’m here, in front of you, naked...”

“Oh shit, Shownu, let’s get you inside.” I took his hand, tugging him up to the balcony, “When did you get here? How long did you let me sleep?” I walked up the stairs and then I pushed open the sliding door to be met by my mother’s and my sister’s stares.

“Y/N? Who is the naked—”

“No time to explain, mom. Anessa, do you still have some of your husbands old clothes that don’t fit him anymore?” They stared at me then skimmed over Shownu, him shyly lifting his hand, waving— them not moving, “Y’all!” I yelled, Anessa rushing to her room.

“Let me go draw a bath for him, you must be freezing, dear.” My mother looked over him once more before going to the bathroom. Sam just sat there, ogling him, her mouth slightly ajar.

“Sam, go do something with yourself...” I growled, pulling Shownu over to the bathroom, my mother sliding out to let us through. I closed the door behind us and I sighed leaning against the counter, “They’re going to be the death of me...”

“They seem nice.”

“They can be, until they see a gorgeous man walk through the door.” Shownu chuckled at my words, “Alright, merman, get into the bath.” He looked at me and then at the bathtub.

“The what?”

“The bath...” I pointed at the tub and he shrugged his shoulders, starting to get into the bathtub with the blanket wrapped around his waist, “Oh, hold on...” I took the blanket into my hands, closing my eyes, pulling it from his body.

“Can I not get that wet?”

“I mean you could, but the bath is to wash you.”

“Wash me?” I opened my eyes to be met with his confused gaze.

“Yes, wash you. Now sit.” He sat down at my words.

“It’s hot.”

“Yup, that’s how it’s supposed to be.” I took the cup that was on the side of the tub and dipped it into the water, then pouring it over his hair. I grabbed the bottle of shampoo and he cocked his head to the side.

“What’s that?”

“Shampoo, it’s to wash your hair.” I opened the cap and squirted the thick liquid into my hand and rubbed it into his hair, creating a thick lather, and then pouring the water through his hair once more to rise it out. I grabbed another bottle and handed it to him, “Okay so this is body wash, you take this...” I grabbed a washcloth from the rack over the toilet and handed it to him, “Soak that in the water and add some of the body wash to the cloth and clean your body. I’m going to go get the clothes from Anessa.”

“Mmm.” He nodded his head and I left the bathroom, Anessa, Sam, and my mother looking at me.

“What?”

“Who is that man?” Sam crossed her arms, huffing.

I laughed a little, “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you, just think of him as my new companion... Anessa, those clothes?”

“Ah.” She handed me a stack of clothes and I smiled, “When we get home, I’ll send these back.”

“Just keep them. They’re too big for him anyway.”

“Thanks.” I turned back and walked into the bathroom to see Shownu standing outside of the tub, a towel wrapped around his waist, “Oh, you’re done?”

“I think so.” 

“Well, c’mon, let’s go get you dressed.” I opened the door once again, starting to walk out when Shownu’s hand gripped onto the fabric of my sweater, following closely behind me.

Shownu sat on my bed, clothed in a pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt, his eyes roaming the bedroom. I dug in one of the dresser drawers, pulling out another towel and I walked over in front of him, “Your hair is still wet, you’re going to get a cold, goofy.” I gently rubbed his hair, drying the dripping ends, his hands wrapping around my waist.

“Is this what it would be like everyday with you?” He nuzzled his face into my chest, my cheeks burning at the feeling of his warmth radiating through my body.

“Shownu, why did you change?”

Not missing a beat, he spoke, “Because I found someone I couldn’t live in the water with, so I changed...” He gazed up at me, his unwavering chestnut eyes looking into my soul, “So I could be with you.”

Changing the Tide: An Avengers Fanfic (2/7)

Summary: Wanda Maximoff is the new girl in town and also reconciling with the death of her twin brother, Pietro. As she starts to navigate her new life she manages to stumble into friendship with a group of teens who are surprisingly similar to her

The rest of the day was similar for Wanda, it seemed like people must have known about her brother’s death somehow because in every class there was someone who would sit next to her and strike up conversation, but no one ever asked about her family.

It took her a while to realize something was up. First, an intelligent looking girl with red hair, the girl who had been talking to Clint when she’d run into him this morning, sat next to her in her French class and helped her with her conjugations when she realized she was maybe in too high of a level. After that she went to her philosophy class, one of the classes she had been more excited to see was offered at this school and was surprised to see Steve was also in this class. Since he was the only person she knew, she smiled at him and sat net to him, luckily he sat in the middle of the room which let her feel like she was slightly invisible, which is what she wanted to be as often as possible.

After class Steve brought her down to the Cafeteria and helped her navigate the lunch line, after that traumatic experience Wanda decided that she was going to bring her own lunch from now on.

Once they had paid for their lunches Steve lead her to a table with several girls already seated.

“Hi everyone, this is Wanda,” The group of girls looked up from their conversation and smiled at her, “Wanda, this is-”

“Natasha,” The girl closest to them said, cutting Steve off, “We already met, French.” She said with a small smile, brushing a strand of her red hair behind her ear.

“I’m Jane,” the girl next to her, with darker hair said, giving her a small wave.

“Pepper - don’t ask - my parents were hippies,” The next girl, a strawberry blonde said politely.

Wanda looked to the next girl expectedly, Pepper, sitting next to her had to nudge her to get her to look up from the notes she was studying furiously, the girl looked up started, her dark brown curls bouncing,“Oh! I’m Darcy, my bad, I have a massive physics test today so I’m cramming.” She said before pushing her glasses back up the bridge of her nose and turning back to her notes.

“And I’m Peggy,” said the last girl with a notable british accent, sticking her hand out for Wanda to shake. Wanda hesitated slightly before shaking her hand. Steve grinned and sat down next to her so Wanda sat down next to Natasha.

“How are you liking it here?” Peggy asked her, “I’m new this year too, exchange student,” she explained.

“It’s been good so far, I really liked-” Wanda started saying before she was cut off by a very loud screeching noise followed by crackling as someone turned on a megaphone.

“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN-” someone behind them boomed. Everyone at the table groaned and kept eating, this was clearly a common occurrence, and an annoying one at that.

“-TODAY I HAVE THE GREAT HONOR-” they boomed again, Wanda turned around in her seat to see Tony, the boy from her biology class, standing on top of the next table over, yelling into the megaphone.

“-OF INTRODUCING MY NEWEST INVENTION-”

“He does this all the time, you’ll get used to it,” Wanda hear Steve say from behind her, she turned around and nodded to him, she’d gathered that already, before turning back to see what was going to happen.

“-THE AMAZING, THE FANTASTIC, THE MAGNIF-”

“TONY STARK! IF YOU DON’T TURN OFF THAT MEGAPHONE AND GET OFF THAT TABLE RIGHT NOW!” Someone else suddenly boomed, needing no megaphone to gain attention. Tony smirked and quickly scrambled off the table and up to the man.

“Principal Fury, I just thought that the school should-”

“Be the unwilling audience of you newest invention being unveiled? I don’t think so, now either sit down and eat your lunch like a normal kid or join me in my office for a discussion of proper lunch room etiquette.” Principal Fury told Tony before storming off. Tony grinned and walked over to their table before climbing over it in order to sit next to Pepper.

Tony turned to Wanda as he grabbed a pea pod from Pepper’s lunch, “I’m-”

“Tony Stark,” Wanda said, returning his smirk with one of her own, “Nice to meet you, I’m Wanda.”

He chuckled slightly and grabbed another pea pod from Pepper, earning him a well placed slap alongside the head from her.

“Well then,” He said, slightly taken aback, “New girl, nice to meet you too.” Tony then launched into explaining his newest invention as he pulled it out of his backpack, showing it off like it was going to cure cancer. Wanda quickly zoned out, taking everyone else’s distraction to reflect on what just happened. She wasn’t really sure why this group of people, people who seemed...popular were even talking to her, let alone being nice to her. She did even notice when Clint and Thor joined them. Clint sat down next to her, and Thor, the guy from her History class sat down on the other end of the table next to Jane, and promptly put his unhealthily large arm around her.

Wanda was so preoccupied by watching them out of the corner of her eye that she didn’t realize that Clint was studying her intently, “You okay?” He asked, snapping her out of her daze.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” She said quickly, looking back down at her plate and moving her food around absentmindedly.

Tony, from across the table was finishing his long winded description and demonstration of his invention and promptly inserted himself into their conversation, “Of course she’s fine, why wouldn’t she be? She’s sitting with the best people at this school.” He said with mock insult.

Clint shot Tony a serious look, one that said don’t mess with her right now that Wanda couldn’t help but feel thankful for while also being kind of embarrassed, she didn’t mind Clint knowing about what had happened, but she didn’t want it spreading around the whole school.

“Oh come on Clint, lighten up, it’s not like someone died or anything.” Tony replied, pressing back on him.

Wanda and Clint both froze.

“I’d better go.” Wanda said quickly, standing up and grabbing her backpack without making eye-contact with anyone else at their table before leaving.

“Wanda wait-” Clint called after her, but Wanda turned the corner and was out of the lunchroom before she could hear the rest of what he was saying.

Back in the lunchroom Clint watched Wanda, the poor junior that he’d told Principal Fury that he would look out for, quickly walk out of the lunchroom before turning back to the rest of the table. Everyone looked confused, Tony especially.

“What was that?” Steve asked, looking over Clint’s shoulder at the door that Wanda had gone through.

Clint sighed, “I wasn’t going to tell you guys this since I didn’t want you guys to treat her differently, just to be nice to her, but at this point I doubt she’ll ever talk to any of us ever again so I guess it doesn’t matter.” He told them before lowering his voice, he, for one, respected the fact that no one would want this sort of news getting out.

“What could have been so bad that I scared off your little girlfriend?” Tony said, trying to crack a joke.

“So not the time, Tony,” Pepper said, shooting him a look.

Clint tried not to get mad, Tony had lost his parents after all, he knew a fair bit about loss and didn’t need a lecture about respecting grief.

“Wanda’s twin brother died in a car accident the week before school started, that’s why she’s starting late. That’s why I made sure there was at least one of you in each of her classes, I want to make sure she had some friends.” Clint told the table.

“Fuck…” Tony muttered, “Shit, I’m such an ass.”

“You didn’t know, I figured that once she had known us for a while she would tell everyone herself.” Clint replied with a shrug, “The only reason I knew is that I was volunteering when it happened, I snuck her into her brothers room before he…” He trailed off.

“I should go talk to her, apologize.” Tony said, starting to stand up.

“I wouldn’t,” Steve said, breaking in, “No offense, but she doesn’t really like you.” He told him.

“I’ll do it.” Clint said standing up, “Once I know she’s okay, I’ll let her know you want to apologize and bring her back if she’s okay with it.”

The rest of the table murmured in agreement as Clint took off, hoping that Wanda hadn’t gotten too far. With any luck, she’d gotten lost and he would be able to find her easily.

I was involved in a fender bender where no party admitted fault. Other persons insurance company went to arbitration against my insurance company to recover their loss. Arbitration Panel decided in our favor i.e. I am not at fault hence need not pay the damages. Total loss amount listed by other party was $800. My car did not have any damage worth repairing. (Also, I am lazy and passive enough to not pursue too hard for a minor dent.) After arbitration settlement other person filed a lawsuit against me in small claims court. I was pretty sure that a judge cant do anything after arbitration. To my surprise judge assessed that out of $800 - $250 was the deductible paid by other person. Prior Arbitration did not include that amount hence he can adjudicate on this $250. He adjudicated against me for $250 + legal fee. Judge also told me that I need not worry about this money as my insurance will pay for it. (Most ridiculous judge and judgment I have ever seen, but thats a separate matter) I called up my insurance company. They are willing to pay this amount. My question is  will making them pay increase my insurance premium. I have a pretty clean record with no at-fault accidents. I pay about $1000 per year for two cars in WA state. grand prix gala

heyy, this is my first YoI imagine and also my first one written from readers perspective and uh yeah, the reader dances with victor at the gala

It’s the night of the big gala. The Grand Prix Gala. With everyone there. Nervous, i exit the cab, hand a few dollars to the driver and climb out of the car. The entrance of the expensive hotel is well lit and women in shimmering dresses as well as men in dark suits stream towards the entrance. I clutch my little silver purse and step on towards the red carpet under my nude heels. I feel my heart beat faster in excitement as I walk up the steps towards the wide open doors and hand my invitation over to the security man. ‘Have fun tonight, miss,’ he says as he lets me pass into the impressive lobby. But thats not where the party is at. Excitement is building up inside me and I stop, taking in the atmosphere, enjoying the feeling. Tonigt, I’m gonna have fun. My light blue silk dress is giving me confidence, feeling the fabric pooling on the small of my back and softly gliding over my skin makes me feel good. My hair that I curled into big waves for the night tickles my neck and I notice that my lips are curved up into a smile. Taking in a deep breath, I enter the big ballroom filled with chatter and music likewise. Its warm and full in here, but not aggravating. Everyone is celebrating, skaters, families and sponsors.

‘Liv, there you are! Finally! Where have you been? We’ve been waiting!’ Mina calls out and pulls me into a hug. ‘Wow, you look stunning tonght! This dress really shows off!’ She eyes me up and down. I giggle as I take a closer look on her myself. ‘Touche, my dear! You’re definetly turning heads tonight! We both start laughing. ‘Come on, let’s get some drinks then. The rest is already there.’ Mina says as she takes my hand and pulls me through the crowd towards the bar. And right, I can make out Chris’ tall figure surrounded by a group of pretty girls in short dresses at the far end of the room. Arriving at the bar I get welcomed by my friends, all in a cheerful mood, supported by quite a bit of champain. Mina hands me a glass as well and we toast on the winner of this years Grand Prix, Victor Nikiforov. After we all took a sip of the champain, Yakov asks ‘where even is Victor ? He’s missing all the fun! He should at least be there when we drink on him, old fool!’ It’s Chris that answers, ‘ He’s over there talking to the sponsors and some other important people. I don’t think we will see much of him tonight. He is going to be quite busy, signing autographs, taking pictures and talking to the important people…’ Mina giggles. ‘Poor Victor. Well, that’s the price you pay for winning. But that means we need to amuse ourselves then! To us!’, she smiles, holding up her glass for the next toast. After chatting and laughing with my friends for quite some time, the band that was playing mainly waltz and foxtrott leaves and my ears pick up on the sound of a different tune. Faster and more modern. Yurio hears it too, his eyes light up and I look at him with a big smile, offering him my hand and and hopping off the bar stool. ‘Let’s go and dance!’, i offer. Grinning widely, he takes my hand and drags me over to the dancefloor that starts getting crowded. We work our way to the middle and start moving to the rythm of the music. Happy, I sway my hips with the beat. After one or two songs, the rest decides to join us. Well, not Yakov and some others excused themselves too but most of the younger people stayed. I laugh to the music, feeling so alive. The faces of my friends show the same expression that must be plastered on mine too. I see Victor dancing at another part of the dancefloor with some people I recognize and even though I hoped to talk to him tonight or spend time with him in general, I am incredibly happy where i am in this moment. He looks really beautiful moving to the melody over there, bending and stretching his slim body, looking so happy. I love seeing him dance. And then- the song changes. Suddenly, I’m far away. I remeber this tune. Some weeks ago, after a day of shopping with Mina and Phichit, we all went to Victors apartement, but the others left soon after dinner. I stayed a bit longer and somehow Victor and I started dancing while doing the dishes. To exactly this song. I glance over to him and my eyes meet his gaze thats already on me. Then he suddenly curves his lips upward in a smile and extends his arm towards me. I find myself walking towards him, through the crowd, the memories of this night still on my mind, the song playing loudly, pulsing through my bones, setting butterflies free in my stormach. I thought he was gonna kiss me back then, when his head was so close to mine at the end of the night, his breath on my neck, when I could feel his laugh rumble through his chest and the heat radiating off him, so close. But he didn’t. Since then I gave up all the thoughts I had about a possible ‘us’ and instead decided to just enjoy our friendship. But in moments like this it’s hard to ignore my nervous heart. As I arrive at his side, theres no need for words. He can read in my face and I can see the memories and the joy of that night in his eyes. I take his hand and fell electricity jolting throgh my nerves. His touch is setting me on fire. He spins me, just like he did that night in his living room and i can hear myself laugh. We fall into a step pattern that sort of resembles a salsa but not quite. His hands are on my hips and I can feel the silky silver strands under my fingers as I close my arms around his neck. Every time he is so close, it strikes me how tall he is. Even with my heels, I’m still only up to his nose. He is laughing too, and then his hand leaves my hip to take a hold of my hand to spin me into a figure. I know that sequence, it’s the one from his living room. So I’m prepared as he leads me through the step sequence and let myself fall into his arms into a pose that normally belongs to tango. For a second I enjoy laying in his arms before he gently pushes me out again, the music getting faster and more heated just like our dancing. Now my back is to his chest and I move my hips teasingly, his hands on my waist as I feel his hot breath on my neck. I let out the air I didnt realize I was holding in, smiling so much that my cheeks start burning. He chuckles, his cheek brushing mine. I wish I could get lost in his embrace with the music pulsing in our veins, forever, but the song is getting to the finale. I feel victors hand taking mine crossover as he whispers a breahtless ‘Ready?’ in my ear to which I can only nod before he tugs at my arm and spins me out until oth our arms are stretched to max before he pulls me back and immediately takes my other hand, spinning me the opposite direction. As he pulls me back, he turns me one more time so that I’m now facing him, his  right hand hoding mine over our heads, frozen in the middle of a turn and his other hand supporting my back, brushing over the exposed skin. The heat of his fingers is driving me mad and my head spins. Without his supportive touch, I’m sure I’d fall.But I feel safe here, I know he is not letting go of me until I can stand on my own again. As the final note plays, there it is again.The moment from some weeks ago. His face so incredibly close to mine, his flushed cheeks so close that I’d just need to move an inch forward to brush my lips against his. And in his eyes, I can see it. The spark that set us both on fire. He chuckles softly, lets go of me and bows his head. Jokingly, he says ‘ I thank you very much for this dance, mylady’. With the same mocking smile, i drop a curtsy myself, hoping he doesnt notice my weak knees. ‘ the pleasure is all mine’ , I grin. His smile is dazzling and knowing that I am the reason for it makes me feel like I’m on drugs. Then, someone tugs at his sleeve. Victor turns around to listen to the man that obviously wants to start a conversation with him. Answering the man politely, he glances over his shoulder to me and mouthes ‘ Sorry!’ and by the annoyance in his face I can tell that he means it. I offer him one last smile and exit the dance floor. The second im off, I stumble because Mina threw herself on me, practically screaming. ‘LIVVVV OHH GOD WHAT?? THAT WAS AMAZING? YOU WERE SO BEAUTIFUL, YOU AND VICTOR!!’ Laughing, I free myself from her embrace. ‘Shhh, calm down Mina, everyone’s looking at us!’,  I giggle. ‘Well, that’s clearly not because of me.  They are staring because you played world champion Victor Nikivorof as if he’s a puppet on a string!’ Accusingly, she looks at me. I am struck. ‘What? I didn’t, we just danced.’ I say smiling, trying to calm it down. ‘Yeah. that’s another thing you need to tell me my dear. When did you two practise this? I mean, it was amazing and everything, but I’m a bit hurt that you didn’t tell me of this plan’, Mina complains. ‘Uhh, we may have danced the night after we went shopping together’, I admit. Mia grins smugly. So I’m quick to add, ‘But we definetly didn’t plan this! It just kind of happened!’ ‘Yeah, whatever you say honey’, Mina says, still smiling mischievously. ‘Let’s go over to the rest!’ I propose, eager to switch the topic. ‘Mmh okay’, Mina agrees. Somehow, her smile makes me really nervous.
