Happy Pride!! Day 1 of our favorite queer characters for Pride month: Vern from Sorrowland.

At the start of Sorrowland, Vern is seven months pregnant with twins that would be named Feral and Howling and just escaped a Black Nationalist cult named the Blessed Acres of Cain. For some reason, we are convinced Blessed Acres would be located in Oregon not to far from Portland.

Danny Lore of @NPR stated that Solomon wrote "about Black pain in its rawest form, and we feel Vern's raw, vulnerable state throughout all of Sorrowland." P Djeli Clark adds, "This is imaginative storytelling at its finest."

Last movie watched: Airplane, which I’ve been meaning to watch forever. It was unfortunately just okay, but it had some good laughs in it for me!

Currently reading: Re-reading the first volume of Sandman so I can read volume 2 for the first time. I’m also reading Jon Moxley’s autobiography and a ton of the weekly Shonen Jump titles.

I got SO much shit done yesterday its genuinely shocking me

Finalized & redid a job so nicely I've secured a new repeat customer at work

Took my headset to work, used hot glue gun to fix it

Made a doctors appt on my lunch break

Cleaned my place for movie night and got some extra stuff ready (double checked ingredients for pumpkin bread ima make and secured movie access)

Cleaned the Microwave

Went over to a nearby park, swung on swings and walked a few trails

Worked on a bigger drawing project that I've been neglecting, finalized all lineart & getting to work on color (it's a big canvas so Very limited layers to work with :0 )

Put together a new toy and played with Libby ♡

Watched some gravity falls with a few homies :3

Remembered to water plants

I've been working real hard on my costume and today I'm pulling all the pieces together and finishing up props.

I made a yaoi-themed bible and rosary, the bibles giving me a little more issue than originally thought but luckily my coworkers helpin me out

Oh MAN I knew I wanted this to be an exciting night but not THAT exciting

My girlfriend got locked out of a supposedly 24/7 parking garage so she was stranded in A HUGE CITY wearing a skimpy rave outfit and called me to save her

Make it worse I wasn't in best shape and my phone with the map on where to go died on the way there, but I recognized familiar sounding streets and she knew it was me cause my cars a diesel aka its EXTREMELY LOUD on top of already incredibly recognizable for being so ol so we were able to find each other pretty quick.

I was driving low n slow cause holy shit had I been pulled over that'da put us both in a world of hurt, n tomorrow we have to find time to go get her car :0

I can't get into too many details for privacy reasons but my cars got some quirks and I love her the more I drive her

Haveta pop the hood to turn it off. Every. Single. Time.

Sometimes the electronics stop working while driving. Usually its just the windows, sometimes its Everything. This does not stop me from getting to my destinations as she just. Keeps going. (I know hand signals from my time time in boy scouts) I just replace some fuses and I can roll down my windows again 🤠

When attempting to lock the doors, pushing down one lock will oftentimes cause another door to unlock. Its some real life looneytoons shit

Celebrated bday a day early with family today and found out my half sister is actually my cousin, and Finally confirmed that a different cousin was indeed Not my half sister

I've been running things mostly on what I have queued up cause this week has just been. SO busy.

I've been setting everything up for my brother n I's bday with scheduling stuff between family, irl friends and online friends in between life necessities like groceries and laundry, on top of aging out of current insurance plan and.

Anyways I'm very tired but birthday celebrations will be had and afterwards I'll get to take more time to relax n rest up :3
