I saw Hosoda’s new movie (Belle) and wasn’t impressed…which makes me feel weird bc it’s certified fresh on rotten tomatoes AND apparently at cannes it got a 14-min standing ovation!!!? What am i missing
#text post#shrug#anyway i don’t usually go to the movies a ton (even pre-covid) but there are a lot of anime movies getting releases that i’m interested in#including deer king and the cinephile one#tho i heard the deer king got mixed reviews too so maybe i won’t like that one either#the cinephile one looks good#my most hyped is goodbye donglees bc it geniuely looks good (where belle was just ‘well it’s hosoda i guess i’ll check it out’)#AND its from the team that did sora yori mo tooi basho which was a really good show#BUT#i have no idea if that’ll get licensed#i doubt it tbh#besides that i’m looking forward to lightyear and turning red but the latter is only on disney+ so#wow thats a lot of movies#usually i only see a few a year lol#im intrigued by inu-oh too but its yuasa so like#hes big hit-or-miss#anyway belle wasnt worth risking covid to see lol#mha world heroes mission totally was tho#that movie was hype#ALSO my theater didnt have twizzlers#only red vines#so i bit the bullet#discovery: red vines are FUCKING GROSS#i was sad about it
